There are a number of reasons why we visit and dine at certain places. At Laruan Atbp, not only is the food great, but it's the whole package deal for people who want to be in a positive atmosphere. The wood and brick design of the place gives one that cozy ambiance, while the games will definitely give groups a chance to bond and kill time while waiting for orders, as opposed to just staring into their phones. There's a whole variety of dishes to choose from, with prices that are quite reasonable. Topping it off with a cool set of guys working at the place, you can't help but be drawn to that same positive energy.
What I really liked about the place is that, they're selling a complete set of Kikomachine Komix �� plus the food that they're offering, the ambiance of the place, and the games which are new to me.
We really had fun visiting this place. Played 4 different games in 3hours is not that bad since we all leave smiling and had a great time.
The only negative thing is that its not that cold inside the café it's probably because of too much lights that bit the a/c temperature. Well a big Thank you to my neice and nephew for introducing me to a new cafe. I know it's a bit far from makati but surely I'll visit it again with some friends/family

Went here with my friends for a mini reunion after high school. This place is usually jump-packed because of the games you can use for free and you can stay long here. They have awesome food as well that you can enjoy while playing. They have friendly staff too.

Tried games we weren't familiar with so we asked for help. Game Master was excellent at explaining games to customers.
When we got bored with our current game, we asked for recommendations of other games based on the experience we wanted to have. He recommended and taught us a game (Dixit) which we enjoyed a lot.
Not sure if he's in the store all the time. Servers aren't too familiar with the games so I guess we were just lucky the Game Master was there.
Servers are nice and quick to respond to our requests. Food orders took a bit of time, particularly the pasta.

Place was really nice, we stayed on the loft-type "2nd floor" area. Cooling was not too good on the 2nd floor when the resto was filled; felt like there was no air conditioning anymore ( heat from the hanging filament lights probably contributed also). Expect it to be noisy bec of the music + other people playing games and having fun.
Expect the food to be a bit pricey because you're technically also paying for the games you're allowed to use while in the resto, and people usually stay there for several hours. Overall, I think pricing is reasonable. No service charge.

I was already disappointed when I came here. My boyfriend and I wanted to go to certain pet cafe in Maginhawa... but all expectations were not met when we got there. So I was bummed and my night was already going south when I got here.
But, alas, date night was saved because of Laruan Atbp. 💖💖💖 Turned my mood right around. Going here was a super nice experience.

We wanted to try something new and found this in Zomato so we gave it a try. The place wasn't difficult to find. Parking though might be a bit challenging during weekends. The building has a parking space in front but it's almost always full. Food serving is usually good for 2 people. Ordered cheesy beefy nachos and bacon cheese fries and they were good. Butterscotch Caramel Ice Cream Shake and Butterscotch Milk Tea were also good. We enjoyed the games. The game master knows his stuff and gave suggestions.
Cute place!! But they have to do something with their air conditioning. There were 12 of us i guess so we occupied the whole 2nd floor. We had milk teas and beers for drink and just their snacks for food cos we were full still when we got there. They live up to their name! They have a lot of games to choose from. Would recommend this if you wanna go out with kids and friends.

The food is great! I love the food they served. All delicious. If you come here to play though, you should already know the game before coming. Their game masters are the worst, unlike those gaming restos that we’d gone before. If you asked for a game recommendation, they’ll just point you out to the game rack and say choose then they’ll explain though their explanation wasn’t definitive either. So and so.
Yummy baked mac and cheese! Sobrang sarap. Hindi nalang din naman napicturan yung mga ibang naorder namin kasi gutom na kami ng nag punta kami dito. And nakakarelax lang kasi makakapag laro kayo. Malaki yung place at may parking naman sila dito.
Mababait din ang crew. Approachable silang lahat and tutulungan ka humanap ng malalaro niyo while andon kayo.

Love this place! Food is good and affordable. Brings out the 90s kid in us. Sana lang mas malamig yung aircon. But overall we enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely be back to try other board games.
We had fun. I love the ambiance. They even have a loft with pillow seats and low tables where you can relax and play their board/card games.
We didn't order much since we were planning to visit other restaurants but we didnt have any complaints on the food. Nice food presentation too. The service was fast too. We were a bit hungry so we would've noticed if the food was taking too long. 😁
We ordered wings (both the soy garlic and the spicy one) and I thought they were good, but nothing too special. I could say the same for their fish and chips.
The ambience was awesome though, it was very cozy and the seating had ample space for the games. They also had a wide variety of games and we really enjoyed playing.
CS could improve as it was really difficult to get their attention, and we were seated near the counter lol.
Their french press coffee was great, though. I got the Benguet one 👍🏻

place is perfect for any foodies because of their wide variety of games; family, couples or friends. Set-up was nice.m that they even have a mezzannine for a more comfortable stay while playing. Food was decent given its price and staff were approachable. For fhose who doesn't play board games much, they have game masters which can explain how to play games. Overall, restaurant is Good, would really recommend

Very nice ambiance and they have lots of games to choose and play with your friends. Their place is a thumbs up and would probably look good on pictures although their food seems just a bit more expensive to its taste.
Loved the homey ambiance. We went there during a national holiday so not too many people were there. We had strawberry & cream milkshake, oreo milkshake, and the nachos. Nachos were one of the best we had, the cheese was awesome. Felt like the serving could've been a bit bigger tho. They had lots of boardgames but we didn't have much time to spend, we were just passing time while waiting for our laundry to finish. 😂
We wanted to sit on the 2nd floor area but it was too cramped for my husband to fit into lol. We settled downstairs and played Uno and Jenga. We wanted to play with the other boardgames but they looked complicated. 😂

We went here on a Sunday at around 4 p.m. Surprisingly, there weren't too many customers. The place is usually noisy, so if you don't like noisy people and if you are looking for a place to chill, you shouldn't be here.
Regarding the food, I ordered for a mac and cheese with french toasts and honey. I enjoyed eating it, but I just have this feeling that the two don't complement each other. My other friends also ordered. They didn't like the salad that comes with the dishes that they ordered. Another friend of mine didn't like the real fruit shake he ordered. I guess the milkshake is delicious coz it is the favorite of one of my friend.
About the board and card games available, some were pretty common, which is good. However, there are some games that had missing instruction manuals. Good thing, there is someone in the restaurant who can teach you the rules of the games available there.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. The point of this place is to enjoy with your friends. Visit this place so you can have a good time. :)

Went here with my bestfriends. I ordered the caramel machiatto milk tea and the lava cake. They ordered wintermelon milk tea and another tea (forgot the flavor). The drinks are sugary sweet (which keeps you up and running for multiple rounds of gaming). I like that the lava cake was not too sweet.
The place is noisy due to squeals of laughter and frustration which comes from playing games. They have an extensive array of games to play and they are also selling some of it too.
I suggest that you dine out first because their menu can be a bit limited to snacks, light meals and drinks. Pag mas madami kang kasama, mas maganda because a lot of the games are not as enjoyable as it should be if Tatlo lang kayo.
Good place to bond with friends. Will go back here when my barkada gets their schedules right.

We dropped by Laruan to just chill, play a game or two and have some drinks. We didn't get the chance to try one of their dishes because we were so full from the last two places we've been at. We just ordered two ice cream shakes during our stay.
Both the Matcha and Strawberry shakes were okay, nothing special. Enough to quench our thirst but it's kinda too sweet for my liking.
As for the place, it could get wild because of the people playing. If you're looking forward to a peaceful meal with some games, this probably isn't the place for you. But the collection of games is pretty vast so you'll have loads to choose from. Also, just order a minimum of 150php gets you unlimited play time of all the games they offer. Yay!

I visited the place two times already. The place is great if you're looking for an entertainment while eating. It offers a lot of board games. Unlimited games! The crew were very courteous and approachable. In case you are not familiar with the board games, the game master will teach and guide you as you play. This was always our second destination in Maginhawa right after dinner so we just order drinks and snacks. I love their laruan twisters. I have tasted all of it and my favorite was Strawberry twister! Their cheesecake was also delicious. I will surely visit this place again.
This place is somewhat unique, known for its idea where you can play board games and chill with your group of friends. Lots of people are going there so it is advisable to be there early.

Me and my friend ate here last sunday.
The place is easy to find, money wise, and great amount of food serving. We ordered CHEESY BEEFY NACHOS and BEEFY CHEESY PITA CHIPS (under snacks) and BUTTERSCOTCH (under milktea)
About the place, I like the cozy ambiance and the lights match perfectly to the mood of this pub. The aircondition is quite at good temperature but our nachos gets squishy because of it 😂 LOL. The crowd are too busy eating and playing. Para kang bumalik sa pagkabata kahit na hindi ka naglalaro ng mga games nila (thumbs up for that atmosphere)
But there's one thing that I probably didn't liked. Group of people like walang pakialam kung nakakaistorbo na sila or what. Masyado silang maligalig sa paglalaro. Nah nevermind!
About the food, specifically the nachos, THEY'RE ALL GOOD! It has big servings, nagulat kami ng friend ko actually. Hindi nakakaumay and the dips are well-balanced (two thumbs up!)

I didn't order any rice meals because I just had dinner before coming here so I only ordered the thick cut cheesy fries and lava cake a la mode. Both of which I liked and I think it was a pretty good combination (sweet+salty). I really like sweets but the dessert was still too sweet for me. I guess it is really made for sharing but it was really delicious especially with that vanilla ice cream on top, i wish I could have more.
You also get to enjoy playing different games and you don't need to worry whether you are a big group or just a few because there are a lot of stuff you could choose from. My friends tried to learn the game on our own (which I think they did, haha) but you could also ask them to teach you how the game works. We stayed here for three hours and we had lots of fun.
As we leave, my friend said that they are also known for their milkshakes so I'd love to come back and try it out next time.
If you want a place to chill in, Laruan is good for you. You can play games for free with your family, friends or someone special while munching on good food that won't hurt your pocket too! 😉

The place was good. Well lit, but the ambiance is quite.. Uhm. Crowded? This is so spacious but yet. Being famous on its category, this place also has too many customer. You can purchase a book here, and play board games. Usual customer here are teenagers. The only downfall is the placing of their board games. Under the stairs! Its pretty hard to get thongs if youre too clumsy. Haha.
This place is worth spending for. Food is great. As in. New games, interesting actually. Good customer services. Pero ilang beses kami lumipat and pinalipat. It is such a cool place to hangout with your friends. I know I have reviewed snacks and ladders (its direct competitor nearby) but I think I would rather go here because the food is simply better and you get the value of your money. Their japanese milk tea is really good too.
Moreover, as part of my birthday celebration, they were kind enough to cooperate with my friends in surprising me and singing a happy birthday song for me. Thank you, thank you.

They offer rice meals, snacks, ice cream shakes, shakes, milk tea, fresh fruit tea, and of course lots of games! Card games and board games! The tables were quite few but still enough to cater a number of guests. They have game masters who can guide you how to play a certain game. It was very fun! I recommend this cafe to millenials!

Since I knew I would be playing games, and would want to munch on something while playing. I got the snackable food items. I got the Wings (with some fries), more fries, and a milkshake. All tasted quite good. I liked the milkshake the most.
I was still feeling a little hungry after that, but I felt tamad to order a rice meal since it took quite a while for just the buffallo wings to arrive.
*PS The games are really really fun. And the gamemasters are so accommodating even asking around if we knew how to play the games. There are many games you've never seen before with mechanics so different, so it's a lot of fun learning new games. Even if you just order the minimum P150, and just play games you will have a good time :)

As in promise! Parang bato! Huhu. So I asked one of their servers if they could serve me a new one and they did. Very mabait sila and accommodating. I loved their mac and cheese. Super cheesy! Plus the french toast! Ughhhhhh sobrang sarap! 😻😻 they also have a game master to teach you how to play games if you're not familiar. My friends and I decided to meet after a few months and we decided to bond over board games. Laruan Atbp. is a great place to spend hours playing, the environment is good, there are plenty of board games, and the food is relatively cheap. The food isn't amazing, but their Cajun Chicken was a good serving size and their Lava Cake a la Mode was warm and sweet. Their Chicken wings was just okay, nothing special.
We played a lot of games I have never heard of before. We will definitely come back and play again.

I expected that the place would be a bit loud but it's fine especially if you're enjoying playing games. We tried to order their milk shake unfortunately they don't have it that time so we tried their raspberry milktea and chocomalt milktea it was great. We also tried their french fries unfortunately it was over cooked.

After a long day at work, my team and I decided to have our late dinner in this cafe since it was one of the few still open at 10PM on a weekday.
When we entered, we were welcomed by the smiling staff and the shouts of the customers who were playing inside. It was fine at first, we know that they were enjoying but they got too loud that the staff had to shush them to tone down a bit (and I appreciated that). There were a lot of board games to choose from and we did not know what to play first. It was like a grown-up kid's version of a playground.
For the food, we ordered their Cajun Chicken (it was the only one available in the rice bowl selection since we arrived late) and Buffalo Chicken Wings. The Cajun Chicken was okay. Not really impressive. I know that it should be pan grilled but I think it was grilled for too long because I could taste the burnt flavor instead of the chicken itself. The wings on the other hand, were okay.
For dessert, we ordered their Lava Cake a La Mode and it was hands down one of the most delicious lava cake I've had. It was soft, chocolate-y, and gooey.
Overall, the place was really fun. Great to visit if you want to spend time with your friends and just enjoy the day. Again, try the lava cake.
My friend took me here last week and i'm not informed that this is owned by Jay Contreras 😆 So when I suddenly saw him beside our table while playing jenga, I was really surprised and my inner fangirl is blazing at that time wahaha sayang lang di ako nakapagpapicture dahil nahiya ako 😂 But anyway, ambience of the place is really soothing, lots of boardgames to play, staff is really accommodating and they never hesitated to answer our questions regarding of some boardgames we picked to play na hindi namin alam laruin haha. I went here a while ago with my family. I gotta say this is the perfect place to hang-out with your friends or family bonding. There were so many games that you could play with. I didnt even know how the play some of the board games.
Their food was alright. From all that we ordered, I specifically liked the pulled pork and milk + cookies.
Also, I felt that the place was too crowded. I thought that it would be big place but it was actually small. And the service was a bit too slow for me but good thing we were still playing so i didnt really notice it. In the end, I really enjoy my visit also my family.
Went here a while ago to chill and relax and celebrate in advance my birthday which is tomorrow. We tried going here before, twice already, but the place is always jampacked but luckily there weren't too many people a while ago. I like the ambiance and concept of the restaurant. We ordered dark chocolate milk shake and it was too sweet, like really sweet and a New York cheesecake since their Nutella cheesecake wasn't available and it was nice and thick. There weren't much games available compared to other restaurants like this but I still enjoyed my experience here. I just hope they add more games and lessen the sweetness of the drinks! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻btw, the drinks in here are quite expensive :(

A lot of games indeed but some are already missing pieces- incomplete like, missing dices, etc.
Shakes have super big serving.. Super! You'll love it.
Tacos are just a so-so.
Fries is what I love.. Try some..

Well.. I don't have the photos of other food because we're busy playing.. Hehehe its just (other groups) so loud we can't even hear each other. But all in all we enjoyed it! 😄

As for the food, serving size, it's right for the price. Pasta is good especially the pesto. I didn't like the bolognese though. Fries were also good, the fish and chips should be cut into bite size pieces for more convenience. The nachos was bad! They seriously need to add more toppings and make it more fun to eat. More cheese perhaps? Buffalo wings was okay.
I actually went there around 12midnight but it was closed already. It's a good place to hangout with friends, very calm abience and spacious. I like the concept of books, and playing, they should extend more time like until 1am for BPO peeps. Lol
If you and your barkada wants to hangout, have fun and eat at the same time. This place is WORTH TRYING and VISITING. A good place to dine and play. They had variety of games to offer. Different board games you'll have. The food they have in tge menu are very appetizing too. BONUS pa ang very accomodating staffs. 😊

Place takes us back to our childhood where gadgets and phons weren't your life. There were a lot of boardgames to choose from, it's so overwhelming (in a good way) the game master was very much of a GAME MASTER for being so lively and attentive to the customers. He will teach you how to play the games you want.
Food was okay. We got buffalo wings and fish chips. I ordered blueberry iced tea as my drink and it tasted like an ordinary zesto. Oops.
I literally like everything. The place/ambience was relaxing, simple yet beautiful interior. The games are so cool! The crew are very accomodating, they even have a game masters for all the board games. The food was really good. Especially the sandwiches, very sulit for cheap prices. The milkshakes are also a must try. I was so carried away, I forgot to take pictures of the food. I only have here the games the we've played. We'll surely go back here!
Nice place to spend your time playing indoor games. Ordered a rice meal and appetizer but they sent out the rice meal first instead of the appetizers. I suggest you go order one by one when you already have your table.

Pulled pork, wings, cajun chicken is really nice. Food deserved a 4 but got a final rating of 3.5 because of the coffee that is definitely not good.

It is one of the hole in the wall in Maginhawa Food Street. This place is really for board game enthusiast, the grilled cheese I had was great but unfortunately the fish and chips that my best friend had was too bland. Overall I will still recommend this place.😄

Good job to the staff!! Very accomodating and the ambiance was fun and great but i suggest you go here with your barkada para mas enjoy. Yung food me and my friend tried the grilled cheese sandwich and blooming onion for those who love to eat onion it is a must try and the sandwich was also tasty. Try also there drinks i like the lychee.
A very nice place to unwind and relax with your friends. Given their numerous choices in board and card games, their choices in food are also generous and affordable.
The venue is a bit cramped up but it's fine with me since it's really a place to help accommodate groups of friends or family to have a good time. I just hope their service would also be fast when it comes to food.
Their game master is very commendable. He made us feel comfortable when he was teaching us the games we chose.

The dark chocolate shake is to die for!! Really really nice and chocolatey. The food weren't that great- fish and chips looks big but really inside was like not that cooked, small fish. The carbonara was a little bland. Had to ask for salt. The cajun chicken was really not that great. Fish tacos were okay.
But of course the best part is that you get to play and have fun with your friends. There are a lot of board games to choose from. And a lot of people going there actually. Like we waited for an hour before we were able to sit.
Buuuut servers were really really nice and accommodating to our needs. Happy people and very good service!
This place will create a lot of memories ❤️ This was our last stop during our maginhawa foodtrip. We were 14 that time so imagine how big our group was. So we decided to go here and have some board games to kill time and to make our foodtrip more fun. The place was actually kinda small. But good thing they have one mezzanine-like. The staff were sooooo friendly and nice especially the one who took a photo of us as a group. The board games were kinda old. The uno, jengga and cards against humanities were really used, but bearable. Each player needs to acquire at least P150 on their menu in order to avail the unli play. I ordered their chocomalt milkshake. THE GLASS WAS SO BIG SO YOUR P185 IS REALLY WORTH IT. The taste was also good enough. My friend ordered their nachos, it was also okay. My friends had their lava cake and I loved it! I hope I ordered it instead huhu but I still enjoyed my Choco Malt shake. I would love to come back! Hopefully they offer iced coffee next time.
Place: It is quite small. I am not sure if this will fit 50 pax, more likely it will be too crowded inside. Instagram worthy. You can consider this asa happy pill place. Literally speaking tons of board games and other toy collection to choose from.
