Really excellent food! I highly suggest the wagyu cubes or the chicken karaage! Definitely coming back here!
Make sure to try their deep fried shimeji mushrooms with terikayi mayo sauce, called Magic Mushrooms. The batter is well-seasoned, light and tasty. We also tried the tempura maki and chicken teppanyaki dishes. Both delicious and good portions too. Highly recommended!
Their magic mushrooms, salmon aburi, takoyaki maki, and spicy tuna maki are the best!! Definitely coming back for moreee!
Food is really delicious and worth it. Did not have time to take pictures. Chow down agad.
Chicken teppan was real good. We ordered magic mushroom twice as an appetizer. Its worth the price.
Chicken teppanyaki and chicken chahan are my faves!! Try the salmon aburi as well!

Solid! Yung price nila mura for the quality ng food nila! ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½
Get the Magic Mushrooms and Beef Yakitori. Takoyaki Maki also good.
A taste of Japan in your own backyard.
Great food and value for money. I love the tempura roll and chahan!
Make sure to try their Magic Mushrooms and Beef Teppan! Service was great. Staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Will definitely come back soon ššššš
Not a fan of maki but their dragon maki is really delicious! Will definitely go back. Good service and also good food!
Visited on a Friday for lunch. The food taste good and looks really fresh. The servers are also really fast and accommodating.
My family has been eating here 1-2x a week for a month already. Food is excellent!
My faves:
šøBeef yakiniku : best yakiniku in Manila. So tender and smokey
šøBeef teppan : beef so tender with lots of veggies
šøGyudon : generous w/ beef and mushrooms
šøAnything salmon : spicy salmon salad and salmon sashimi are fresh
šøMagic mushrooms : so addicting
All the other dishes we've tried were so so good. I highly recommend this restaurant to Jap food lovers!
This is me and my husbandās comfort food on our way home from work. We absolutely love the food here! I personally love the salmon maki with cream cheese. Itās packed with delicious flavors and gives a melt-in-your-mouth texture and itās truly worth the price. The presentations are decent and makes the food look expensive but itās actually affordable. The katsudon and wagyu are my absolute favorite! Theyāre jammed packed with the meat essence and theyāre really juicy! I will definitely come back soon! Thanks and keep it up!
Good Japanese food. Simple. Fresh. Generous serving for the dishes we ordered.
Spent 440/pax for the 3dishes. Hmmm is it pricey? Feel free to comment. :)
Nice little place with quality food! Everything is fresh and the service is great! Highly recommend! Suggest to boom a table prior to your visit as it gets full! Would definitely go here again!
Great food and ambiance! A hole in the wall resto along Sct Tobias in QC. Food servings are good for 1 to 2 pax and you can pay in credit card.
They got me at Magic Mushrooms. Hahaha. Not sure why but as soon as I read it in the reviews and menu, I got instantly curious. Plus it's also a Zomato Gold partner so that's instantly a big plus for hubby too.
Interiors are industrial & rustic but clean. No fried Japanese food smell that clings into one's clothes and hair. I'm amazed though how they can possibly handle both cold and hot dishes in such a tiny kitchen but they amazingly can as per their wait staff... but to be on the safe side I refrained from ordering raw food and settled for Salmon Aburi Maki (P340) & Magic Mushrooms (P150) for appetizers. For mains we got beef barbeque (min of 2 sticks, P75/ea) and Tendon (P300). Salmon Aburi Maki was great! It's very colorful with 3 kinds of caviar for topping. Salmon and cheese combo really works well. Magic mushrooms are deep fried mushrooms with sweet soy mayo dip. Tendon is amazingly sulit with 3 pieces of big tempura over rice. Rice was a lot for 1 person and of good quality.
Will definitely go back with the kids.
Nomiya Izakaya reminds me of a random restaurant in a small alley in Japan where you will be surprised by the food. I have eaten here a number of times and it always (almost) never fails me. Their gyudon is my favorite. The place opens around lunch time and re opens again around dinner time. The place is quiet and just chill (away from the packed streets of Tomas Morato). The parking though is just a street parking (which is limited) but they have a guard to assist you.
Great service, cozy atmosphere, and lovely prices given the quality of food that you get, and the serving sizes per order. Perfect for satisfying Japanese cravings.

Love the food here. We definitely don't go often enough. Try the magic mushrooms! They're delicious. š The fish they use is super fresh. Their gyudon tastes authentic, like you're in Japan. The sake we got was nice and sweet, but they have other kinds you can choose from - the bottle is pretty too! Looking forward to trying more things on the menu
if youāre craving for the standard japanese food that will satisfy and not disappoint, go here
itās my second time here and will surely come back
food: very good taste and quality... would come back for the salmon head - we loved it so much, we got 2... spicy tuna / salmon salad reminded me of nanbanteiās, a good sign... tempura shrimp was big with the flaky quality i like
price: moderate. beer is cheap. take advantage of the eatigo promo
service: very good - very attentive waiter, just needs to practice taking pics to highlight the resto (a must these days)
ambience: modern and basic
toilet: spot clean
This is a hidden gem in the less visited side streets near Tomas Morato - Sct Tobias. Really underrated hole in the wall, I highly recommend the Jap food lovers try and visit. Most of the dishes we ordered were really good. Please try their salmon aburi maki, spicy tuna maki, dynamite maki, chicken karaage, chicken and beef yakitori, katsudon, and magic mushrooms. gahhhh so good. prices are similar to ooma, quality-wise they are a good contender.
Compared to my last visit, I think the service improved though still a bit slow. They were less sungit now lol.
Nomiya will be my easy go to for my Japanese food fix in QC area šš½
I had dinner here twice the past week, so I guess thatās a good sign š Iāve had the Karaage and Chicken Teppan and theyāre both really good. Got to taste the Spicy Tuna Salad and Katsudon, both delicious too. Aaand the matcha ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal!
A small and simple place, but has one of the best Japanese food Iāve had. So far, none of what weāve ordered has disappoint.
Aiming to order everything on their menu! Definitely recommending this place.
The food was great and the service was good. Kudos to the chef for maintaining such quality and consistent taste with quite an enticing presentation.
The first two visits we got 1+1 on food but this last visit we only got 2+2 on drinks. Although, still worth it for its price even without the promo.
It's sad to hear about a couple of untoward incidents that happened in this establishment along with others beside it. They should have a dedicated police security in the area to avoid such mishaps.
Food is really good. We ordered salmon sashimi, gyoza and maki of the week (dynamite maki). Everything was good. Salmon sashimi was fresh and thick slices. You would know that the gyoza was freshly made. Dynamite maki was spicy all the way.
This place welcomes you with a very Japanese vibes without the loud āIrasshaimaseā which I liked. The place is simple and minimalist and the servers were very accommodating and friendly.
Almost everything we ordered was great except for the Ebi tempura. The shrimp taste a bit off, something like frozen. Our favorites were the Spicy Salmon Maki; the level of spice makes it more appetizing. And the Uni Tempura; Itās very rich in flavor. Itās definitely the star of the night!
š Location: 36 Scout Tobias Street, Laging Handa, Quezon City

Wagyu Cubes ā Php290 āāā

Every time I drove by this place at night, I'd always see it crowded with people and a line waiting outside. I thought to myself "Wow sarap siguro diyan".
So it surprised me to see Nomiya Izakaya included in the Zomato Gold restaurants and just HAD to grab their 1+1 deal while it was still available. Wow. It was so worth it.
Ambiance: A place that is small but full of spirit. It reminded me of the small local pubs I visited in Osaka, Japan. Perfect for small groups of friends and couple dates but I wouldn't recommend for large groups. Also, the chairs don't have back rests so some might find that uncomfortable.
Taste and Quality: AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FOOD. The flavors weren't overpowering like some Japanese restaurants I know. The meat was soft and had flavor in every bite. 8-piece rolls that were in the 200 range! Everything we ordered tasted great but my favorite dish would be their Yakitori. The meat was UNBELIEVABLE SOFT. It was melting inside my mouth.
Food Price: I'd say the price ranges from 200-350 pesos which is actually a good price range for the quality of food they serve. If you're a Zomato Gold member, you're definitely getting a great deal.
Staff: The servers were very accommodating and kind. Since the place is a bit small, it's easy for them to notice you and come help when you need assistance.
Would I go back? YES.
#DarrylApproved
The California maki is very good. For its price, the size of the roll is big. The gyudon is also very good. The place is a bit cramped but the quality of the food compensates for this
Found this small Japanese restaurant because of Zomato Gold ans it did not disappoint! The food was really great and the price was good too. Not too expensive!! š had a great experience at this place.

An izakaya is the Japanese equivalent to the Western pub or tavern: a place where people can hang out and drink after work. The origin of these establishments can be traced back to 18th century Japan, at the time when sake ā the Japanese rice wine ā was also growing popular. In fact, the word izakaya is rooted on i (to stay) and sakaya (sake shop), because, in contrast to the previous practice in sake shops to drink alcohol while standing, patrons of izakayas can sit down, and even eat some finger food, while drinking.
Small place with hard stools. But the lack of butt comfort is made up by a satisfied stomach. I'd recommend the Dragon Maki, Spicy Salmon Maki, Beef Teppan and Magic Mushrooms! The Gyudon is a tad too sweet for my liking but I appreciate the poached egg that came with it. The Chicken Teriyaki was a win for me because I liked the charred bits, but my family said it was burnt. Hehe
The service was quick, although the waiters tend to forget and we had to ask a few times before getting water refills, the soup that came with our order and napkins.
We arrived at past eight, so I forgot to take photos before eating. Sorry!
The food was good! But the place was a bit small so itās kinda noisy. But THE FOOD WAS GREAT!!! Loved the salmon aburi! It is kinda great cos they have really generous servingš
I now have a go-to place for my Japanese cravings!
We ordered : Spicy Tuna Maki , Dragon Maki, Chicken Karaage and Chirashi Don
Taste : ALL YUM! Everything was tasty! Especially the Chirashi Don, which has raw salmon and tuna, tamago, shrimp and (something else which i forgot, urchin?)
Value for money : so worth it! The serving size is quite big. The 250-350 maki servings get you 8pcs of big maki. They also serve complimentary cold or hot tea.
Service : food is served surprisingly fast. And servers were attentive and accommodating
Ambience : hole in the wall feels but really cold. Oh and theyre very secured. They have a guard outside, and the place is locked from inside... probably a precaution after that holdup incident in tomas morato area.
Been here a couple of times and the quality of food is still quite good and reasonably priced. Love the dragon maki, tempura and salmon sushi! Portions are not scrimped and nicely presented. Above all staff was friendly and accommodating. More success in 2019!ššš
It was our first time here and got curious to visit the place because of reviews we saw on Zomato.
Taste/Food - of all the things we ordered in the menu, our favorite was the Dragon Maki; plating was beautiful, and taste was really good. Our least favorite was the Gyoza; it was ok but we probably will not order again.
Service - servers were corteous and were fast to respond to our requests. Food was also served fast compared to other japanese restaurants.
Place - interiors were simple but comfortable. Parking may be a bit of a challenge since itās at the corner of two busy streets.
The experience was made more enjoyable by the 1+1 Food offer for Zomato Gold.
Must try the beef teppanyaki, spicy tuna salad and salmon aburišš» I am a regular customer and this restaurant is worth a visit. The area of improvement is the quality of service- not consistent.
A cozy small restaurant along Scout area. I went here to try the zomato gold 1+1 and was not disappointed! I loved the salmon aburi sushi roll & the beef teppan!
A tiny hidden gem in the Scout area. Parking might be a bit of a struggle. Place is very secure - they have a guard outside and staff inside always making sure that the door is locked. Food is affordable and really good! Their serving of Chicken Chahan is huge. Donāt forget to try the Magic Mushrooms!
I would say this place is like a sort of fast food kind of Japanese restaurant. I live near the area so this is the place where we go to eat when we have no more food in the house or weāre just too lazy to cook lol. The food is good I like the beef teppan i think best. If you just need a quick Japanese fix (thatās not ramen) i think this place will do.
Food is really great! Perfect for people who want some good Japanese cuisine thatās affordable. The service is also good and the place isnāt so crowded. I usually get the spicy salmon sushi, and Iām not tired of it yet. Their yakitori is also good, and try their sake, they can recommend whatās their bestseller. Everyone that I introduced the resto to had nothing but good reviews šš»
Nomiya Izakaya is quite an endearing and quiant place in Scout Tobias a few blocks away from Tomas Morato, and it's distinct in a sense that it's one of the "hole-in-the-wall" candidates for having the best Japanese casual cuisine that Quezon City has to offer. Service is prompt and quick, with the servers happy to guide you along the menu and are all smiles from the moment you enter.
For starters I like starting out with their fresh sashimi offerings, you can't go wrong with either Tuna or Salmon Sashimi and Miso Soup on the side. For mains, I highly recommend trying their Salmon Aburi Maki, Takoyaki Maki, and their great tasting Ebi Tempura. Honestly, anything you decide to pick up and order in this restaurant will definitely be worth it.
The food is good, not great - but something you can count on for a nice Japanese fix. Food alone Iād rate it a 3. But with those super reasonable prices, gets bumped up to a 4.
Food is absolutely delicious. Service is nice. Price is not that expensive and it's
Authentic Japanese. It became one of our to go to eat place a week. Couldn't take pictures of other food since we ate it already. It's really really good
The crew was very nice and accommodating and really good food! A bit pricey but the quality of the food was good! Will definitely come back here for more!
very good japanese food. they have a restaurant area and a pub (drinking area). the menu is few but at least you can pick out from the best they have to offer. need to go back and try the other stuff on the menu.
Konānichiwa! Donāt you just love Japanese food? Itās fresh, delicate, and definitely IG-worthy. Surely, everything is mouthwatering about this East Asian cuisine. And Iām happy I found a new gem budding in the foodie heaven of the North. Located along Sct. Tobias in Tomas Morato, Nomiya Izakaya is a Japanese Restaurant and Sake Bar in Quezon City one ought not miss!
Japanese cuisine continues to thrive amongst other cuisines here in Manila. More and more international brands, mostly from Japan find its way to our shores. And since we have grown to love theirĀ offerings, our localsĀ have been curating their own Japanese concepts. A new player, Nomiya Izakaya is a prime example of this.Ā
Nomiya Izakaya means a place to drink or a bar. The owners initially envisioned a place where people can have sake or beer paired with small Japanese plates. This changed a bit recently given a number of families visiting their store. This adjustment has created now a place for two kinds of customers, the drinking crowd and a hungry group in search of delicious Japanese food.Ā
Nomiya Izakaya presented us an array of meals that are fitting for alcohol and a line-up for diners. Overall it was a nice spread of artisanal sushi, kushiyaki, donburi and other not so ordinary starters.Ā Ā
I was impressed with their sushi line up the most, consisting of raw and aburiĀ (partially grilled)Ā varieties. Here I saw the main character of Nomiya Izakaya, a balance of authenticity and modern, leaning on being bold and very different. We had the Kanifornia Maki (Php 250), Takoyaki Maki, a playful combination of loved Takoyaki Balls and Maki (Php 310), colorful and vibrant Salmon Aburi Maki (Php 250) and my personal favorite, Umaki Tamago (Php 300), a sweet omeletteĀ roll with a tasty eel in its center.Ā Ā Ā
For other starters, we got unique pieces of dishes in tempura batter. First was Spicy Salmon Nori Fries (Php 140). Visually it was a cross between tempura and sushi rolls. I guess this is their attempt to get kids interested in sushi. The second was their best selling, Magic Mushrooms. This one, on the other hand, used shitake mushrooms.Ā Ā
On sashimi, we dived into three kinds, Maguro Nuta (PHP 220), tuna sweetened in miso; staple Spicy Tuna Salad (Php 240) and the classic bowl with Japanese rice, Chirashi Don (Php 345). All these orders showed the freshness of their fish.Ā
On cooked specialties, we got loads of meats! Our team had the usual grilled and glazed Beef Kushiyaki (Php 65) and Chicken Yakitori (Php 45) and an untypical plate of ox tongue in oroshiĀ sauce, dubbed The Gyutan (PHP 240).Ā
Since I was still a bit hungry, I had requested from the young owners Seafood Teppanyaki (Php 350), a significantly sized bowl of well-seasoned shrimps, squid, and tuna with loads of healthy togue.Ā
You can spot Nomiya Izakaya at 36 Scout Tobias Street, Laging Handa, Quezon City. Note that they are closed on Mondays.
Cheap, authentic, good quality Japanese food. What more can you ask for? The beef yakitori is heaven in a stick. Magic mushrooms with the secret sauce is good. So are the maki and sushi. Average rating might be 3.5 but this restaurant deserves a 4 or more. Service is just as good as the food. Parking isn't that hard with street parking.
Nomiya Izakaya is this teeny, unassuming restaurant in Tomas Morato. This place is not to be underestimated though as they serve delicious, authentic Japanese dishes at a bargain.
GYUTAN
I am donāt like eating ox tongue because I cannot remove the thought but I may just turn over a new leaf with this Gyutan. Itās cooked in one of the best Japanese sauces to compliment grilled meat, oroshi sauce.
UMAKI TAMAGO
I intially thought that this omelette roll will be sweet but it wasnāt. I love the sweet-salty combination in every bite and I thought the egg was cooked perfectly.
BEEF / CHICKEN YAKITORI
What else can I say about anything grilled? I personally love the savory-sweet sauce lustered on this grilled meat.
TAKOYAKI MAKI
Itās nice to see how Nomiya reinvents current food favorites, elevating it now only through presentation but at the same time, taste. Itās basically the well-loved takoyaki in a form of a roll. Iām a sucker for Japanese Mayo and Iām glad that they didnāt scrimp on this.
SEAFOOD TEPPAN
One of my favorites here. I love how it reminds me of my favorite Yakisoba only the taste is richer and it has fresh seafood ingredients. Cooking it in teppan gives the noodles a different texture that makes it more addicting to eat.
I only have a few top picks in Tomas Morato area and Nomiya will definitely be in the list. Itās a perfect venue to catch up with friends in Quezon City over delicious food.
Nomiya IzakayaĀ (@nomiyaPH) is QCās newest Japanese pub! Located in the quiet side streets of Tomas Morato, it is a stark contrast against the lively ambiance of the clubs in the area. Nomiya is perfect for catching up with old friends or unwinding with colleagues after a long day at work! (Trivia: The name āNomiya Izakayaā is meant to be redundant.Ā The word ānomiyaāĀ literally means liquor store, while the word āizakayaāĀ means Japanese bar.) [Read More]
great food / service / reasonable prices great food / service / reasonable prices! great food / service / reasonable prices! great food / service / reasonable prices!
Great food and service! We ordered Gyudon, Spicy Tuna Maki, Spicy Salmon Maki, Oyako Don, Ebi Tempura, Wagyu Cubes (super yum!!), Chicken Teriyaki and fried rice. The makis we ordered tasted similar, but still good. Oyako Don was not terrible, but not the best. Gyudon was a better choice. The fried rice and wagyu cubes though ā BEST COMBO. Overall, we had a good experience. Menu is limited, but 90% of the things we ordered was spot on. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Good value for money. Simple, yet clean ambiance.

If you are looking for authentic Japanese food then I would totally recommend this place.
Iāll start with the food. Not your typical āJapanese Foodā changed to cater the taste of Filipinos. I would say that they made me love their food while keeping firm with what they really want to deliver to their customer. Real Japanese food. My favorites are Salmon Aburi Maki and Nigiri. Special mention to their Tuna Sashimi with seaweed. They also serve sake if you want to take a sip of some rice wine.
Their staff are very friendly and would cater to you with a smile. Waiting time for each order is very minimal which shows how swift and good their chefs are.
Would definitely go back to this place with friends.
(note: Not a noodle house so donāt expect noodles/ramen)
Food is superb and authentic! The place reminds me of those hole-in-the-wall restos in Tokyo. The crispy mushroom for starters is a must-try! Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Our familyās new go-to for jap cravings! šÆšµ
Modern Little Japanese resto with above average food with Just right pricing.
We ordered Agadeshi Tofu, Tonkatsu and Kanifornia Maki.Ā Ā I really loved the Kanifornia Maki as it is big step up from the majority of typical California Maki's that abound.Ā It has tempura batter bits and Kani on top with generous amounts of Salmon Roe.Ā This one was my favorite.
Tonkatsu was also pretty good.Ā The meat was tender enough and they use a more sophisticated breading compared to the others who just use typical panko breading.
Place is a little cramped but i get this is typical with Japanese bars who focus on quality instead of quantity.
Pleasantly surprised that this small restaurant was able to serve authentic Japanese food at an affordable price.
Their sashimi and maki roll were delightful - I'm no expert but I could tell that the fish they served was really fresh as it had this vibrant taste and color similar to those served in high-end Japanese sushi bars - which was totally unexpected as the prices and servings were really good.
The menu seems to be tailored to be paired with liquors but I was still able to enjoy all the food we ordered even though I'm a non-drinker.
Overall - this modest little restaurant really surpassed my expectations and I'll be sure to come again.
A cozy Japanese neighbourhood eatery! Everything we ordered was a hit. Be sure to try the salmon aburi nigiri and beef teppan and beef yakitori (not in pics)! Prices are very reasonable for the quality; perfect for families or big groups. Have yet to try their sake. Will bring my friends for drinks here next time.
The quality is spot on! We really enjoyed:
-Beef yakitori
-Kanifornia maki
-Spicy salmon maki
-Chicken chahan
-Gyutan
The staff can be more attentive, but service is great nonetheless! Definitely come-back-able!
