I love their Salted egg dishes, very flavorful. it's worth coming back. Another is their sagot gulaman, very affordable for the price coz the the serving size, but needs to improve their serving portion to other dishes. Their soup is also delicious and has a distinct taste. #ChryzhFoodies recommends this underrated restaurant.

Every trip to Shiok Shiok has been a treat! I am a huuuge fan of salted egg dishes so it's one of my.go to dishes here, but I also love their cereal prawns. Definitely one of the best SG restaurants offering authentic cuisines in the Metro.

Good food here and is very affordable. We, as a family, went here to eat dinner. I pretty liked the laksa, and the salted egg chicken. Everything was very good. Service was okay. And I also liked their ambiance, it's liked you're on the side street of Singapore eating their street foods.

Went here just to try their Laksa and it didn't disappoint. Their laksa serving was big and I think it's good for 2-3 pax. The laksa was good. It was creamy and the spiciness was just right for me. 😊

Had birthday lunch with the in-laws.  Place was full and compact.  We ordered the Cereal Chicken, Cereal Pork, Laksa, Pork Chop Rice, Salted Egg Chicken, Salted Egg Squid, French Beans with Pork, Kaya Toast, Beef Rendang, and Satay BBQ.  Everything was very good.  Service was ok.  Pricing is very affordable.  Risky street parking.

Salted egg chicken. Laksa. Pork and chicken satay. Cereal rice. Kaya toast (not in the pic :(
All are blockbuster in my tastebuds. Didn't know such heaven existed in Banawe. Laksa was full of spices and fishballs. Chicken's flavor melted easily in my mouth. Satay has that nice chewable consistency that I'm after for any skewers. Gosh. Got to bring my family here!

The first thing you notice is the ambiance ehoch resonates singapores food streets. Great singaporean comfort food, everything tastes right, the prawns are amazing. The laksa is to die for too.

Dishes are priced fairly. So its quite affordable.

I was not really a fan of the Salted Egg Chicken since it was very dry and the Cereal Fried Rice felt it was mediocre. Though I would go back to try their Kaya Toast and really really appreciate the ambiance. It is so lively. Felt like I was in Singapore. I did love the duck and asado. The meats were really tasty and would love to invite my mom to try it. Yum!

If you're craving Laksa, this is the place you should go! The ambiance is simple, wooden tables and benches across the restaurant floor, but the food is what you're there for anyway, right? Laksa is great to share for about 2-3 people, and the cereal prawns are TO DIE for. I would come here over any other laksa place any day of the week!

Their fruit shakes are delicious too! One of the few restaurants where the price is right on the quality, taste, and serving of their food. An absolute favorite.

Good place to visit if you're craving for Singaporean food. They have good Laksa. Recently, I tried their curry chop rice. I would prefer if they served it with chicken chop rather than a bone-in part. The curry that came with it was good.

Known for their Hawker-style Singaporean food, Shiok Shiok is the sister of Eat Fresh and Tuen Mun. Their Salted Egg prawns are a hit as usual: salty and saucy, with a touch of heat to offset its rich flavors. Prawns were already peeled, much to our relief (we just hated having to shuck the shell everytime!), and were cooked til they were soft yet still springy.

That was where I had my guilty pleasure: their Milo Dinosaur. A throwback to my childhood, this drink was loaded with chocolatey goodness. And best of all, it even came with a helping of malted powder on top— perfect for that extra crunch. Definitely a must-have!

🐽 Food: You can find most of the Singaporean dishes you’re craving for in this restaurant. We ordered laksa, salted egg chicken, kaya toast, soy chicken, char kway teow, cereal prawns, fried rice, veggies, and lobster ball. Everything was delicious and good for sharing!

🍹 Drinks: They serve shakes, juices, sodas, black gulaman, milk tea, beers. I got sugar cane with lime.

🍴Ambiance: It’s a casual place yet the experience felt like I was in a real “hawker” somewhere in Singapore.

👫 Service:
💸 Price: Super affordable! You’ll leave the restaurant with a happy tummy!

2nd time eating here with family! Food was generally good, with their laksa being one of the favorite dishes to try here. Bak Kut Teh seemed a bit bland, and their Sambal Kang Kong as well. Shiok Shiok Porkchop had a pretty huge serving, so you would probably get your money's worth. Price range is pretty good as well, which would be another reason to keep going back to this place.

One of our go-to restos for late night meals is Shiok Shiok. Our usuals are the Laksa, Salted Egg Chicken Rice, Black and White Gulaman, and their roasts (usually for take out). Tried something new this time - Cereal Chicken. It is very tasty; it has a good mix of sweet and a bit of a kick of spiciness at the end (although I'm not a fan of spicy food, the level of spiciness is okay for me). The generous serving of Cereal Chicken is also served with fried egg. They serve affordable meals with generous servings.

Cereal chicken, fish fillet curry, and kaya toast. It makes my day great. Depending on what u order, the food can be cheap, but the shakes arent (since same price as food). Love the curry (150 pesos) as it is seperated and so saucey. Kaya toast is okay and cheap (50 pesos) too.

Restaurants here in the Philippines are getting more exciting when it comes to international dishes. We no longer need to travel to different countries just to try authentic food as some of the establishments try to bring the taste that we crave on. We should be thankful that in one drive away, we can get to satisfy our hungry tummies for flavors that we can just find overseas.

Yummy and flavorful!

Cereal Prawns - SUPER LOVE THIS!!! You definitely have to order this when visiting!

Pineapple fried rice - so good ♥ I miss their Pineapple bowls though. They used to put their fried rice inside a real pineapple (sliced in half).

Beef rendang - it was my first time to eat this dish and it didn't disappoint 😊

Salted egg prawns - I think there are better salted egg prawns elsewhere but these are good as well.

Hainanese chicken rice - Forgot to take a picture of this because I was so enticed to eat it immediately 🤭 It's just my all-time favorite dish! It was good 🙂 I love their ginger sauce ♥ you can really taste the ginger! It also wasn't overwhelming at all.

It's kind of a tight place but you'll surely enjoy the food served. Servers are really nice too!

There's only a few restaurants that serve only the best, and Shiok Shiok is one. All of the dishes we ordered tasted great — no tapon. My favorite would be their Salted Egg Chicken. Staff was nice, ambiance was perfect for the cuisine, and the place was spacious. Prices were reasonable as well.

There's only a few dishes in their menu, but if you want more, you can order from the menu of Eat Fresh Hong Kong Famous Street Food which is just opposite Shiok Shiok. I'm not sure if they're under the same management, but you can order straight to their staff. Will definitely recommend and dine here again.

Hip asian food restaurant found in the area of Banawe, QC. The setting instantly gave a nostalgic Singapore vibe. Restaurant design is derived from old asian style complete with classic posters, vintage tin cans, and hand-painted walls. Cult favorites are Laksa, Cereal Prawns, Salted Egg Chicken, and Kaya Toast Set.

We went during downtime so the restaurant was not full. We called the restaurant for advanced orders and food was served upon our arrival. Exceptional service, great food, and the price points is affordable.

We also ordered Avocado shake and the glass is labeled Eat Fresh. We were advised that customers can cross order at Eat Fresh Banawe. On the side note: fill in your singaporean cravings after watching Crazy Rich Asians at Shiok Shiok. They are opening a branch in San Juan soon 🇸🇬

If you are thinking about travelling to Singapore just to satisfy your laksa cravings, cancel your plans and save some money! Shiok Shiok is serving authentic Laksa (PhP 235) generously topped with the balls, shrimps, and other seafood. It's one of the reasons why this restuarant is one of my favorites in Banawe. This savory soup is perfect for when the weather is cold and you need something to warm you up from the inside.

The lobster balls (PhP 38, 2 pieces) are a great addition to any meal, as an appetizer. These are delicious comfort food that I can eat anytime of the day. Dipping them into sweet and sour sauce makes these bouncy spheres more soul-satisfying!

We also had Hong Kong Style Fried Noodles (PhP 65), which didn't scrimp on flavor and portion size. With a bit of crunch from the bean sprouts balanced with the soft and springy noodles, we could not be more pleased. Yum!

Shiok Shiok is definitely a good bargain for quick and casual meals for those who work or live around the hood. Here’s to hoping that it gets to expand to more branches soon. :)

Check out this place for delicious Singapore hawker dishes! 😊 The place has an appealing ambiance, which consistently delivers a Singapore hawker vibe both in its exterior and interior designs. So, it provides clients with good photo ops! Definitely a plus for me! Their Laksa dish is so good, that it's at par with the Spiral's! I esp. like it spicy! Their chicken rice and nasi lemak are okay, though a bit wanting compared to authentic SG taste. Still, there are a lot of items on the menu that you will surely find something to tickle your taste buds! Other good choices are their kaya toast, mango shake, and minced pork noodles with fishballs (which tastes better when mixed with a bit of the local sambal sauce). Once you've tasted this Singapore hawker food fare, you'll no doubt find yourself going back for seconds! ❤️

I could have marked this 4 stars but there is lack of something with their kway teow and salted prawn, still delicious.

I am looking for a little bit sweetness for the kway teow since in Singapore I have tasted a little bit sweetness in it. Their dish is affordable and big servings. Salted prawn is too creamy unlike in SG but still good.

I am so interested to try their other dishes will definitely comeback.

It was Good Friday, and we went to the Banawe area to see if anything was open. Our original plan was to go to King Chef Dimsum, but unfortunately they were closed. So then we proceed to go to our 2nd choice, Bugis(closed as well). A few doors down, there was a bunch of cars parked and we took a chance....best decision ever! The interior is very inviting, has a great feel, nice decorations, suprisingly roomy inside. I recently just came from Singapore so Singaporean food wasn't high on my priority list. We ordered Chicken rice(135php), Kaya toast set (120php), and Char Kway Teow (190php). Everything was very good, and came out in a flash. Total bill was 445php and was so worth it. Thank you for the awesome experience, will be back soon....

Cereal Chicken Rice
I had to try this and I'm glad I did! Cereal was smothered all over the chicken, so much that I couldn't finish the cereal, a foodie sin. They gave a generous amount of meat and definitely the cereal and rice.

Kaya Toast
I spared myself from the set that comes with eggs; that would've been too heavy already. Each slice was nice and thin, tasty, creamy, and just goood!

Watermelon Sago
I'm more accustomed to the mango version but this was a terrific try! It's very refreshing, delicious, and sweet!

It was typically good though they actually did well in considering when to serve dessert. Food serving and bill transaction times were great!

A wonderful exeperience especially if one is craving for the street food joints in Singapore, Malaysia, etc.

I especially loved the coconut base of the broth of their Laksa; it was creamy and flavorful (still kept on getting the broth even after the noodles, tofu blocks, fish balls, and prawns were long gone. Dish was good for sharing and the price was friendly.

I loved the Satay plate (Beef, Chicken, and Pork) too! They were juicy and flavorful without being too salty. And yes, this is another dish whose price is consumer-friendly.

The chicken dish with the Salted Egg sauce was tender but I was a bit wary of it just being seasoned with Knorr salted egg seasoning.

The Teh Tarik is amazing, it's sweet and creamy with both milk and tea retaining their own distinct taste. The salted egg chicken is also good but I would've preferred chicken to have a gentle crunch before it's coated in the salted egg creamy base. I asked for the waiter's recommendation for the noodles and he said char kway. Its flat noodles with bean sprouts and chorizo slices. I wouldn't recommend it. Though the portioning is generous, it's bland and only becomes flavorful with a forkful of noodles that has a chorizo slice. For the Nasi Lemak, it didn't measure up to the wonderful dish we've had in Brunei.

Singapore was the first country I visited outside the Philippines. Since then, memories of hawker food, specifically chicken rice, burned in my mind. That made me one of the people who queued for hours when Wee Nam Kee first opened in Ayala Triangle Gardens many years ago. That also made me one of the people who regularly visited Tao Yuan, Boon Tong Kee, and the now-defunct Makansutra Hawker Center in Megamall.

I was hoping to experience something similar to what I felt in Singapore when I dined in Shiok Shiok. Already knowing what I wanted even before I entered the restaurant, I barely looked at the menu before ordering. Chicken Rice (P135), Katong Laksa (P230), and Chili Crabmeat with Fried Mantou (P280) were the obvious choices.

While waiting for any of the food to arrive, I recommend you look around the place first. Chinese-style awnings, bare cement flooring, and signs that represent major roads in Singapore give you a more immersive hawker experience. Visually, it was impressive. My dining companion even noted that it looked like a restaurant from old kung fu flicks. Not the cleaneset place around, but it does have charm.

Shiok Shiok serves the same curry laksa as Eat Fresh! Delicious Kitchen, a popular restaurant that specializes in Hong Kong street food. And I'm happy to confirm that the rumors are true: it really is one of the best you can find in the Metro. The serving's big enough for four people,  the noodles are firm and full of life, the soup is loaded with a lot of toppings, and the spicy broth is divine. Each slurp will bring you to a higher place.

What's even better about Shiok Shiok's laksa is that they serve it in a hot pot with a burner at the bottom, so it won't get cold even after half an hour or so. This may be one of the reasons people complain about the restaurant's weak air conditioning, though. The steaming broth can really give you a warm facial and make you sweat bullets, if you let it. Then again, who eats laksa and doesn't expect to get sweaty?

The Chicken Rice was ordinary--quite a disappointment considering this is what I came for. I'm glad they used yellow chicken, but I would've wanted ginger to have a greater presence in the background. The rice, on the other hand, was sufficiently flavorful, but not spectacular. The same goes for the Char Kway Teow (P190), which had pleasantly bouncy noodles and bountiful ingredients, but became unmemorable due to its ordinariness. Meanwhile, the Chili Crab sauce was a little too tomatoey for my taste, and lacked the punch and heat I was looking for. The slivers of crab were also too thin to make an impression.

But there are other things that will make me want to travel to Shiok Shiok, like the plump and juicy Salted Egg Prawns (P360). It actually broke my heart that I didn't order this on my second visit because I was saving my money for other dishes, but damn. Those prawns were fat and sweet, and their flavor complemented the thick and gooey salted egg sauce perfectly. It would've been a bit more enjoyable with a bit more heat, but that's just nitpicking. Finally, no matter how ashamed I am to admit it, I've bought into the salted egg trend.

Shiok Shiok must have the best supplier for prawns since the same fat and succulent ones can be found in their Cereal Prawns (P330). You can choose to have this with or without the shell, but honestly, life's too short to spend peeling prawns. I liked this over the other versions I've tried. It was buttery, crunchy, savory and sweet, like your cute but naughty little niece. Again, I wouldn't mind a little more heat, but overall it was a memorable and enjoyable dish.

After making a few anonymous visits to the restaurant, I can say that dining at Shiok Shiok is like parachuting to Singapore. You can almost believe that you're eating at one of the country's famed hawker centers, but then if you order some of the weaker items on the menu, it's like your parachute fails to open and you hit reality hard on the head.

But putting everything into context, Singapore hawker stalls normally specialize in a single type of dish (or a few varieties of it) then perfect the execution of that dish over time, through countless repetition. Some of the people who own hawker stations are even part of a third or fourth generation in their family to be running the business, so expecting the best versions of each dish in a single restaurant is a tall order to make. But I'll do it anyway. If, over time, Shiok Shiok can make all the items in their varied yet focused menu as strong as their laksa, then it will save everyone a costly plane ticket to Singapore. I'll then call it my hero.

Shiok Shiok is located at 81-A Nicanor Roxas, Quezon City, Philippines

Value for money is what I call my experience with Shiok Shiok. We went inside with empty stomachs but definitely went out with a full one. The experience wss really a pleasant one since the staff were pretty much attentivd when we visited. For the food, I really liked their laksa since it really packs so much flavor plus the spice level was just right to make you sweat a bit. I was also able to try their satay which really was flavorful as well although there were some sticks that I felt was a bit burnt. Their beef brisket rice in claypot is also a stunner not to mention the beef being tender and flavorful. However, I'm not a big fan of the taosi spareribs and the chicken rice. I feel like those two dishes were lacking a certain kick that can still be improved on. Overall, a decent experience that can make me comeback in the future.

Fantastic singaporean food in a budget! Great finds such as cereal prawns and laksa are must haves. Don’t forget to order shakes because they are worth it! And if you’re really thirsty, go for the large! This is definitely a place to come back to!
