One of the most complete Asian fusion buffet restaurant here in the metro I love the fact even with mass production of different cuisine they still maintain the chef’s quality for every cuisine.
Satisfied with the selection and the flavors of the food on my last visit. Huge fan of Japanese food, so I dove right into their maki and sushi spread. Really loved the quality and the variety of their sushi and sashimi. Everything was excellent.
Also liked their selection of raw food for grilling. Seafood was fresh, marinades were flavorful. You can also ask to replace the grill when it's dark and charred.
Plus points for the crepe station - quick and efficient service. Limited fillings, but you can always add more toppings from the rest of the dessert spread.
Things I went back for aside from sushi:
- Japanese wheat noodle Alfredo something. This was soo good!
- Japchae
- Menchi Katsu
- Crepes
- Ice cream (they have Matcha!!!)
Things I didn't like too much:
- Takoyaki. Texture didn't feel right. Was dense and weird and it was too oily. This was saved by the sauce, mayo and toppings. Wouldn't have been able to finish it otherwise.
- Okonomiyaki. Too thick and didn't have much flavor.
- Ebi tempura (or tempura in general). Beautifully fried but was so bland. I love ebi tempura, but I had a hard time finishing this.
- Steak. Too gummy and too much litid. Huhu
Was happy that I didn't get too much of those, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish them.
But overall, was a great experience. Food was fresh, didn't encounter any problems with service.
Good food selection. Love how attentive their staffs are. Don’t forget to try their premium avocado ice cream. The best avocado ice cream for me so far. ❤️
I don't mind having instant noodles or canned goods all day...Just as long as you take me to Sambo Kojin for dinner!
I believe it opened November 2010, if I remember it right. I was strolling around Eastwood when I noticed the huge tarp placed in front of Something Fishy.
Sambo Kojin serves mostly Japanese and Korean cuisine. The restaurant is bright, clean, modern. The servers are friendly. Back then, the rate was only P595. Now I think it’s about P800 but several options have been added. They also added several marinated meat choices due to the recent popularity of “Samgyupsal”.
The wide array of Japanese favorites were heavenly. Sambo Kojin was one of the first buffet resto that offered various sushi choices. They also serve Kamameshi and Sukiyaki.
I've been to the eastwood branch before since it isn't too far away, but this last visit really satisfied me. I was really impressed by the food this time around. In my opinion, it was good quality for a buffet. I usually try not to eat too many things that might fill me up quickly, but I couldn't help it this time.
I just LOVED the udon, gyoza, and bulgogi. The meats I grilled tasted great, too. Honestly, I wanted to eat more, but my friends were done.
I do have a couple of complaints, though:
1. They almost never refilled the salmon sashimi. Believe me. I was checking.
2. The cakes are still as dry as ever.
All in all, it was great and I can't wait to go again.

One of the popular locations of Sambo Kojin. What I liked about this place is this where I saw the steamed shrimps! I have not seen it in other places. Felt this was more complete compared to other branches. Other favorites available as well
Sambokojin has always been our go to buffet whenever me and my bff celebrate our birthdays. I've been here a couple of times but they still never fail to fill our gastronimic cravings. I would still say that their food is superb,of high quality and service is A okay. I am also impressed by their new dessert station. I'd say its always a thumbs up for me whenever I get to visit here.
Awesome but limited cuisine but enough to have a full belly. Have been here thrice and i can say that personnel are friendly and acommodating. will definitely go back for the next special occasion ;)
We have a flyer that grants us 20% discount so we decided to eat here for lunch on a Friday. When we went inside, we were in a huge lobby or reception area for the waiting customers. There were white clean sofas, center tables, and Sambo Kojin's statue. We were immediately ushered upstairs to our table and we started getting food.
It's always a relief to have cooked and ready-to-eat food around as well as those that should be grilled first. Some personal favorites are of course, the grilled meats (US Beef, pork, and chicken in different sauce), ebi tempura, and pork belly. However, their roast beef and pork belly were cold and uninviting to eat even though they taste good. The french fries were soggy and didn't seem to be freshly cooked. Fish fillet tastes horrible and is full of breading. As for the desserts, coffee jelly and tiramisu are one of my favorites.
The staff were friendly and were attentive whenever we request for drinks and inquire of the promos. They happily assisted us grilling the meat and they were mostly smiling. One thing I noticed was that there were so many flies in the dessert bar. A customer got the attention of one staff but he just ignored it and the flies kept on feasting the sweets, pastries, and fruits.
They have comfortable seats and huge area where customers can move freely when getting food or checking out some dishes. You won't smell like smoke once you leave because their exhaust and air-conditioning system is designed to minimize the odor. Instead, you will leave with a happy tummy from this unforgettable yakiniku experience, making you crave for more.
Probably my favorite go-to buffets ever. I love their sushi selections and yakiniku. Their korean dishes are also on point. Will always go back here

Been here with colleagues and they can have dance surprise too! What a lovely service that they had! I love it and highly recommended too! 👍👍
A delicious variety of food for less than 500 during my birth week by bringing just one full paying adult.
Love the fact that they could cook the peeled shrimps for you at your table :)

We always try to find the best value for our money specially for food... and eating at an All-You-Can-Eat or Buffet restaurant is certainly one of the best choices. Sambokojin is always on top of our buffet lists.
(F)ood:
The price is reasonable for the great selection of food
Lunch 11AM to 2PM | Mon-Sun PHP688
Dinner 6PM to 10PM | Mon-Fri PHP838
Dinner 6PM to 10PM | Sat-Sun PHP888
You will have a lot of choices of Korean and Japanese dishes in here!
Most of the items are delicious and are worth the wait while grilling.
Here are some of our favorites.
Korean:
Beef Bulgogi
Chapchae (Sauteed Grass noodles, seafood and vegetables
Galbi Jjim (Beef Stew)
Panjeon (korean pancakes)
Kimchi
Japanese:
Sushi! The salmon is almost always run out but the servers are quick to refill them.
Tempura (shrimp and vegetables)
Rosu Katsu
Karaage
Takoyaki
They also have international roasts that are so inviting:
Roast Beef
Leg of Lamb
Pork Belly
You can also select from a lot of seasoned and plain seafood and meat choices.
Try also their foil-wrapped buttered shrimps, so yummy!
For desserts, love the small variations of the desserts in a cup. Love also their
lava cake, the big scoop ice cream. But the cakes, just so-so.
(A)mbience:
The place is smaller compared to their other branches but have enough rooms for a private group of an event. The place does not smell of smoke and is not smokey, the ventilation seems perfect. The grills and the utensils are clean.
(B)utler Service:
The servers are quick enough to provide us with our needs.
Sometimes, it is hard to call on them for drink refills, but who can blame them
for the many customers who try to call their attention.
The servers even do a production number every now and then for the entertainment of the customers and will even sing for you when it is your birthday.
Call this excellent extra service!
Its always a treat dining here. Really like their meats snd seafoods for grilling. Also like the variety in their cooked food. Tempura, fried stuff, sukiyaki, and sushi. The desserts need improvement though. Like the ice creams but the cakes lack flavor. Servers are friendly but they can use more staff for really peak hours.
My first Sambo Kojin experience was here in their eastwood branch. The food was good. The ambiance was good. Price is reasonable. But some of the foods take longer to refill on their buffet table. But overall, it is still a good buffet restaurant.
It was my first time eating at Eastwood branch. And i think they have more food choices compared to Edsa-Greenhills branch.
They are accommodating enough but took too long to respond. Like asking for drinks took more than 15 minutes. And when we asked for the bill, we got hungry again for waiting. Oh! The spoon never came when my sister asked for it.
Coming back? Definitely yes.
We celebrater my mother in laws birthday on their lucnh schedule. We were at the door a few minutes before eleven am and they escorted us to our table right away. Its the typical Japanese/Korean grill. You get access to unlimited meat, sushi and all other Asian cuisine. But its the pork belly that got me. It was so good and the waiter serving it was generous. So many food choices and flavors in this branch considering that the space is not that big. But I like it because its not crowded. Being here is worth my money. The crew was accommodating and very nice. It was our first time and the manager did not charge us for a left over fee. You have to call for reservation so you won't wait to be seated. Then they will text you to confirm your reservation a day before your scheduled lunch. I think that's a plus.
They just need to improve their desserts selection. Its kind of "bitin". But overall if you want "sulit" and affordable all you can eat. Sambokojin is a place to visit.
They have lesser food options compared to the other branches, I guess it's because they're smaller. Service was fast and staff were accommodating.

One of the best buffet franchise in the Philippines ❤😍 most of the food that they serve tastes good and im confident on what they serve.....i recently enjoyed their burger patty and rolled bacon with cheese...my all time favorite katsus pork and cheesw urrgghh its like everything that they serve is heaven ❤😍 definitely recommended for those who are craving for korean and japanese buffet ❤
We had our family dinner at Sambo Kojin for the celebration of my parent’s anniversary. Our experience was great, all the waiters were attentive (even on peak hours). There are a lot of new food choices to try. Our only concern is their marinated meat, it was SO salty. It’s best to pick the unmarinated ones if you want to try grilling meat. Over all, our experience was great and we’ll definitely come back for another Korean and Japanese fix :)
The food in this branch weren’t as good as the one in Megamall and the selection was fewer than in Megamall.
They only have one cr for both genders.
When I had my bill it was correct but when I received my receipt they charged my card incorrectly so I immediately called their attention, the manager and the cashier approached med and explained that she was “naduling” so after a few minutes the manager just gave me a refund.

Celebrated my sponsor’s birthday. This was my first time I ate here and everything tasted great! It was mouth watering. After this experience, I went back here but at SM Fairview branch!
Sambo Kojin is one of the buffet restaurants that can be found in Eastwood. It's strategically located near Global One building and just beside another seafood restaurant called Somethin' Fishy. It's one of the go-to places of families, friends and office mates especially during birthdays or any kind of celebration.
This place offers Japanese and Korean food with wide varieties. I just noticed that some food takes some time to be refilled, and I end up waiting for a long time. For the Japanese Yakiniku and Korean Barbecue, they have beef, pork, seafood, rolls (bacon, beef), skewered and vegetables, too. For the japanese specialities, I liked the sauce and taste of their tempura even though the tempura itself is kinda oily. For the sushi and sashimi, I liked the salmon and tamago. Also, the california maki tastes good. The rest tastes ordinary. The dessert station kept me coming back for more. I liked that they have matcha ice cream and cake. The verrines were good, too.
It can definitely satisfy a hungry tummy, though there's nothing fancy. It's reasonably priced. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. When there's a birthday celebrant in your table, someone will sing for you!
Went here with my housemates and we had a great lunch experience. We waited, patiently, in line as they observed the "first come, first served" guideline. It didn't take much time for them to set the table. The food choices were great. I would definitely recommend this if you want to try a large variety of Asian food especially Korean barbeque. The staff were very friendly and very attentive. They always make sure that the needs of the customers were attended immediately. They even offered us garlic cheese shrimps which were already peeled, ready to be grilled, (this was not on the buffet table) and it was really really good. The place was also very spacious. There was also a good variety of drinks if you choose to have bottomless drinks for an additional amount. Overall the place was great. We would definitely come back.
They were quick in confirming the reservation. The temp. inside is good, also the waiters are friendly and approachable. About their food, it's almost good except for their tonkatsu and some fried stuff that are not that hot.
It has been a tradition for our family to always eat in buffets whenever someone is celebrating his/her birthday. Tried Sambokojin for the first time and I wasn't displeased.
They have a wide range of grilling items. They mostly offer Korean, Japanese and Filipino cuisines. Also, there are unlimited side dishes and that the skewers are regularly being changed to a new one by the staff every once and a while.
I was thrilled that they offer Matcha flavored desserts. What I liked most for the desserts is their Matcha Ice cream. It was so nice it was sold out before the staff had their last call for orders.
Aside from the food, we were entertained when the servers sang my mom a happy birthday. They even danced to the song!
Everything put into account, the experience deserves a repeat!

My favorite Buffet restaurant outside a hotel. Kaya when i crave for sushis, eto kaagad nasa list ko. They serve mainly Japanese and Korean dishes.
I particularly enjoy their wide selection of Maki sushis, meats and the seafood. It taste and smell always fresh.
I smelled like grilled food after 😂
wide selection of dishes, though nothing really stood out for me. Food was fresh, service was efficient, place was clean. Basically a great experience for an eat all you can buffet.
It's a great deal if you eat here for lunch during weekdays. It's 688 PHP. There's so much food to choose from. Most are good. You can also grill your own meat and add different sauces. Shakes and sodas are included.
Our special valentines moments celebrated @sambokojin libis. It was my first time to eat at a Sambo Kojin libis branch. At first I was quite overwhelmed because my husband surprise me that day and to celebrate our valentine dinner, its really perfect for couple although it was crowded due to rainy couple out there..hehehhe.. But their service was excellent! The restaurant was...so nice japanese food and korean food was prepared well and my hubby love the spicy sauce. the staff is very friendly.
I was very impressed by this place. Open buffet featuring most of what u might crave.
Tempura, sushi, meat that u can grill in front of u and a wide range of meat and chicken that is. Then you got dessert from ice cream to cakes to fondant.
It was an absolute treat.
Ps. I was too busy eating to take pics
Just went here to celebrate my parents 20th anniversary. The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese and Korean food. I enjoyed the part where we can fry the beefs on our table. The staff are decent, approachable, and were nice enough to accept our request to sing a song to our birthday celebrants. The place was quite small but it was neat. I would like to go back here together with my friends some other time.
I like korean bbq places where you can eat all you can and cook all the stuff at your table. I tried other korean bbq places around manila and they were a little too traditional korean and didn't have all the stuff i liked about korean bbq like how i am used to at the california korean bbq spots. also the other korean bbq places i tried in manila were pretty much the same price as sambokojin or even more expensive and i don't leave there satisfied. the workers at sambokojin also even cook the korean bbq for me which i love.
the thing i like about this place is that they have a japanese fusion in it where there are sushi rolls and other japanese prepared cooked dishes. they also have dessert area with cakes and ice cream and even halo halo.
ive tried all those other higher end buffets like vikings and stuff but this one definitely is a much better value for the money. even when you compare it to either vikings or real traditional korean bbq spots, i'll take this sambokojin over those places.
the only thing that sucks here is sometimes the wait is long but once youre in you will be able to eat right away.
My friends have set this place as our reunion venue. Whenever one of us is celebrating their bidthdays or just want to randomly meet up, then Sambokojin is the place.
The staff are approachable and were nice enough to accept our request to sing a song to our birthday celebrants.
Although their food choices are only Japanese and Korean, it still is worth it to go here especially for the sashimi, maki and ready to grill meat. They also have a dessert bar which is nice.
This place is better than yakimix and buffet 101 (viking and niu are a different level). The mix of available dishes/cuisines are impressive. They cook small batches so you are guaranteed to get freshly prepared dishes.
I really love Sambo Kojin. Idk why but since 2013, I always celebrate my birthday here. Nice ambiance, good food (the lamb!!!) and friendly staffs.
Definitely a great feast for main dishes, sweet and healthy desserts plus a great and relaxing ambiance that will make you want to indulge more. An ideal Korean place for everyone! 😊
FOOD: the meats are very well seasoned and marinated. Its very tasty. If your craving for grill meat this is the perfect place. I really like the cakes aswell. They have a variety of food to choose from that you will have a hard time deciding what to pick first😄😄
PLACE: the place is nice even though the tables are close together there is still a sense of privacy. It quite clasy and very comfortable.
PRICE: its quite expensive but if compared to other buffet its about the same price. But totally worth every penny😘😘
Sambokojin is among the numerous buffet restaurants found in the Eastwood, Libis area. Last February 27, to celebrate my client's milestone, we crowded again in this Japanese-Korean restaurant. We are seeking somewhat a redemption because the first time we flocked here, all but two in our group ended up with an upset stomach.
Actually, Sambokojin became somewhat of a joke amongst us because of an unsavory experience we had last year. Because of this incident, we made a resolve never to come back here again. Haha. To cut the story short, we opted to go for a second shot.
Food. 4.5/5
The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese and Korean food. There are also different stalls where food are cooked on the spot. The food is fine as most buffet restaurants go. I really like the spicy Korean chicken and chapchae. These are the first ones I always delve in.
However, on this second trip, I chose to start with the desserts. The cakes were a bit dry but not too sweet. I really liked the strawberry roll with the actual strawberry on it. The strawberry, unfortunately, isn't fresh. I also had the creme brulee but even that one is lackadaisical. There ice creams, however, are really awesome. My office mates recommend the matcha ice cream. However, I am more of the strawberry/vanilla type of guy. In all, I believe I tasted around eight of their sweets.
Another thing about the food is that you can cook the raw shrimp and meat on your table as each table is equipped with a burner. The food here also has more variety compared to the other restaurants, which is a plus sign because one never runs out of options.
Ambiance. 4/5
The place is quite small for a buffet restaurant. On peak hours, the place really really gets crowded which makes it really uncomfortable. Moreover, the place is badly lit. It looks a bit gloomy inside. However, the place is always kept clean.
Service. 4.5/5
The service is really satisfactory as the crew attended to our every need with a great smile in spite of the fact that they're servicing a lot of diners.
Price. 3.5/5
Though I didn't get to pay for both times I've been here, I still deem that Sambokojin is not the cheapest of buffet restaurants. But do I think I got the value for the price we had to pay, uhm, not that much really.
Happy dining!
Because of our busy schedule I can't prepare a surprise for our 1st anniversary. So I deeply imagine of what gift 🎁 can I give that is no one can give to him. I decided to a buy a couple watch ⌚️coz time is the most precious thing I can give. Anyway, I'm the one who insisted to go there since I love ❤️ the all you can eat buffet hahaha the budget for it is "sulit". I got all the seafoods, beefs and ice cream 🍦 of course.
Eastwood City Libis is undoubtedly one of the busiest places in the metro. Aside from offices and residential buildings, it’s brimming with fastfood and restaurants. They cater to all types of tastes, from small eateries to food courts, food stalls and fine dining, you’ll most likely find a place should you crave for something specific. But while you’re at it, and if you feel up to it, why not eat at one of the buffet restaurants?

We're fond of eating in buffet and It's my birthday so we decided to celebrate it here. The food are great! They do refill the empty plates in the buffet table immediately that's why the food are always freshly cooked. They also serve different types of lechon! I was not disappointed with their desserts (Desserts are what I'm always looking into whenever I go to buffet) ❤
The staffs are also nice and accomodating! 👌
I may be a little bias on rating this place since I have always been pampered by their excellent service. The people here seems to love what they are doing. From front desk to service crew (hi to Maki), even the Japanese chef (suhi's great) who doesn't even speak English would never fail to greet me with a big smile.
Dining here is really a bang for the buck! I mean what do people really eat at expensive buffets when they could all have them here, right? I mean how would you like your steak done? This is a place where you do it your way, Gangnam style baby!
Much much better than Heat Shangrila. Hindi na mashadong masarap dun eh. And price comparison wow super layo ng prices nila. And Sambokojin touched my heart and filled my belly with joy
The food is the same compared to other branches. Maybe smaller selections?
Place is smaller and older amenities (chairs, flooring, CR). Yung CR at floors medyo madumi na.
The experience is good but for maximum experience, go to Megamall branch or mas bagong branches
Love the food! From the shabu shabu, yakiniki, korean and jap cuisine! Perfect! Superb! I just like to know if you have free buffet for birthday celebrants? Thank you! ☺☺☺
Food is nice although the place feels like it's cramped. I also like the sushi bar of course and area's look is okay. Customer service is nice.

In Sambo Kojin, Eastwood, I was able to experience what it's like to dine on excellent food, and use terrible amenities altogether. The Japanese themed restaurant has a wide array of delicious asian dishes (not all are Japanese), slow customer service, and unclean washrooms. It's not excellent nor awful. As a whole, it’s just passable.
Been here six times in six months. Aside from its proximity to my place, the sushi and sashimi keep me coming back for more.
I used to obly eat sushi, sashimi and other ready to eat viands because I'm too lazy to grill. Then came Ariel de Jesus of this Sambokojin branch. For half the time I ate in Sambokojin, he was the one who grilled our food. He was unlike the others who were just grilling food for the heck of it. He had passion.
He sources ingredients from their pantry to make succulent spicy shrimp in garlic butter and special decorated ice cream platter. When he grills the prepared meat, he makes sure it's cooked properly and presentable.
We are so pleased with his cooking that we come back to sambokojin only of he's around. Also, he has an inspiring story. Started out as a dishwasher at Max's but loves food and cooking so he taught himself how to do it. His customer service is impeccable.
When you dine in Sambokojin, look for Ariel de Jesus and help him and his family by goving him a generous tip for his excellent service. Who knows, our tips might send him to culinary school. :)

Dined here a few times for team lunches while I was at eastwood.
Compared to the SM megamall branch, this one is much smaller. The food choices were a bit limited, but what I liked here is that the serving trays are never empty. There are kitchen staff who are constantly preparing sushi and the raw meat section for grilling are also refilled immediately.
Good service and good food.

Food was okay. There were a lot to choose from. The buffet is more organized than before. Would have given this at least a 4 if it wasn't for their bad service. To be specific, the waiters. The food attendants were friendly and accommodating but the waiters were acting like they can't be bothered. Took me 2 waiters before I got a drink refill and have my grill be turned on. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are used to good service. There are a lot more restaurants in Eastwood that have better food and better service.

This branch is cleaner, brighter, and more organized now. They re-arranged the buffet area and added more kinds of food. They now have a katsu area, meat carving station, and a bigger dessert selection. The quality of food has improved as well from my last visit a few months ago.
I love the Eastwood branch of Sambokojin. Megamall is my favourite but this one's second. I suggest you go during dinner, the hours are longer plus more food variety. For dinner, I go here since it's super near my place, but if I want lunch I go to the Megamall branch- better ambiance and longer lunch hours.
Finally i graduated! :) I avail the graduation promo! Hehehe 😁👌🏻 Well the food was obviously delicious. Food selection was quite limited (is it because it's already late dinner that we came?) but its okay.. Willing to come back again.

Sambo Kojin is one of my favorite restaurants in Manila. I love Japanese food and when I want to get some sushi I don't want just some sushi, I want a lot so I really like buffet types.
The food is great. It s mix of Japanese and Korean cuisine with lots of options and a grill at the table. They say it's smokeless but you'll go out smelling.
They service for drinks is quite good as well. I like the shakes and juices. The four seasons is my favorite.
So why not 5 stars? Recently I went there and had to use the toilet. It was a shame. The restaurant is kind of fancy with good food and good services but the restroom is really poor. Only one restroom for man/woman and not so clean. Also does not look very good with the old sink and toilet.
I'll continue to go there but the experience of the restroom broke the fairytale. They got a mark down.
A first timer here! Love their staffs all of them are so approachable, what I like about their dishes was the grilling session their meat was fresh and has a soft texture, but the sauce for their maki was kind of salty nasobrahan yata and may mga bangaw around the place, But over all its all good and tasty 💛
Meat is fresh, good selection of cooked food. Would prefer more shrimp to grill. Downside is the CR. Only 2 and unisex pa. Yhe place is always full, so walk-ins have to wait. Better to come back 2 hours after opening, if you're stll hungry.
Surpringly, not a lot of people here for lunch Feb 13. Maybe reserving their dates for tomorrow.

Great food variances very tasty and yummy service is fast too. It's on the pricey side but food is really good so who cares? Value for money I should say. Just one issue though ...their cr. You wouldn't want to go inside it needs proper ventilation and proper care.

Don't you just hate it when you go to a buffet and there are at least half a dozen lurkers at the shrimp tempura station staring at an empty platter? A friend and I had lunch last week at Sambokojin Libis, and the tempura station is always adequately supplied. And you don't have to fight tooth and nail for your fill of shrimp.
The tempura is really good, as is Sambo's galbi jjim (Korean beef rib stew). There are a number of fish and tofu dishes that were excellent as well. My only complaint would have to be diners that don't know how to work a grill. The grills at Sambo are not smokeless, so it is a tad bit annoying to be seated next to people that are burning their meat and tuna.
Girls night-out turned Yakiniku night at Sambokojin! I initially suggested that we go for something healthy/organic but two of my friends reacted violently and demanded that we go somewhere we'll end up really full, thus, Sambokojin. I love how this place offers quality, not to mention, yummy and fresh sushi and sashimi. Great meat choices too! This branch however is smaller than the one at Megamall. Dessert station is small, offering limited choices only. Ice cream is by Big Scoop which comes in 4 flavors (Green tea, Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla). Airconditioning is a bit of an issue too specially if like me, youre seated in front of the grill. Service is a bit slow and could be improved. Fairly understandable as we went on a Sunday night and the place is packed with eat-all-you-can patrons, people celebrating birthdays here and there.
Anyway, place is still great for celebrations or just whenever you feel like stress-eating or pigging-out with friends or family!
Wide variety of choices on offer--- both cooked and teppanyaki style. Enjoyed the sukiyaki cut raw beef slices, raw salmon, raw prawns most. Maybe because it was dinner time, but some of the sushis did not look nice anymore (or were a little small).
SUSHI AND KOREAN BARBECUE ‼️‼️ 😰😋 They have a great variety of food with a fusion of Japanese, Korean and more Asian cuisine. They lacked food labels, definitely. Almost half of the meat section was not labeled which is really confusing since the meat was marinated with different sauces. Take note, not only the meat section 😕 Nonetheless, the line of meat was generous indeed! I also loved how fresh their seafoods are. Sushi selection was few compared to others I've attended. We did not get satisfied with the dessert bar. Besides the fact that the choices weren't big, the good ones are quite limited. I hope they could also improve their service and cleanliness. Waiters must be attentive and accommodating as much as possible. Cleanliness of plates, utensils and grilling area must always be observed! I'm a huge fan of buffet restaurants and have visited bigger ones but I can say that Sambokojin did not disappoint somehow regardless of their given services.
Always a huge fan of their shrimp and bacon wrapped cheese. I also love their sushi. This branch was a bit crowded and service was a bit lousy.
My first time to try this place is back in May with a friend KC. I loved it so much I brought my mom the next time. Then me and my friends even checked out the Megamall branch. Its a Japanese Food Haven!! Sambo Kojin is in my top 3 buffet list. 😍😘😍😘
Ate in sambo kojin eastwood dinner last night with the family for my 50th birthday. Took advantage of the free buffet for me. What you have come to expect in terms of food is exactly what we had. The grill is what i usually go for. My daughter likes the sushi spread. My husband noticed however, the makis he got were not fresh. It was dry. The service was impeccable, just don't know if it was because the place was not full. It was my first time in this branch so i was surprised to learn that the dining area was on the second floor. Since i use the wheel chair, that posed a problem. They opted to carry me on a chair up to the 2nd floor. As much as the ride was smooth, am not comfortable feeling cleopatra. Other than that, it was still a good experience.
This is the first Sambokojin branch I actually went to. The first time was a good experience; I was actually more fixated on the meat to be grilled than the ready made dishes.
The seats are comfortable and spacious but I noticed that this place is packed during weekends so a reservation is DEFINITELY needed or else you wait for a spot to open.
Since they do offer Japanese and Korean dishes, the choices are diverse. Some of the ready made dishes I tasted were okay but the tempuras were good as long as you get the freshly cooked ones.
The highlight for me is roasting and seasoning their uncooked meat, I smelled like grilled bacon afterwards but I prefer cooking my own food anyway.
My favorites is the meat wrapped mushrooms like shitake and enoki, beef sirloins and bacon slabs. stuffing them in a lettuce leaf and eating away.
So in all in all, LOVE the meat grilling, tempuras and seasonings for the meat.
I don't love that some of ready made dishes being too dry and the dessert section needs improvement. [I just go for green tea ice cream most of the time for dessert]
The two things I look forward to doing the most at Sambo Kojin are grilling a huge number of suwahe (shrimp) and creating a dessert masterpiece, which consists mostly of green tea ice cream, rainbow candy sprinkles, and white chocolate chips! I also love celebrating birthdays here because IMO, they have the best deal among other buffet restaurants - you just need to bring ONE full-paying adult to eat for free within a certain number of days from your actual birthday (this is at least for 2015).
Just availed of their bday promo. Lets see:
Viands: more selections,[i.e. Japanese fried rice (this is NOT d kamameshi rice)] , more sushi varieties, has ramen selections as compared to the edsa/gh branch.
Desserts: more dessert selections in edsa branch.
Pros:
-offers more sushi varieties and viands
-offers ramen. Edsa branch doesnt offer ramen.
Cons:
-fewer dessert selection than edsa branch
-unisex rest room (always traffic)
-for some reason i find d edsa branch has better ambiance.
Will i return? for sure! ☺
I've been a frequent diner at Sambo Kojin Southmall and it's my first at their Eastwood branch. Meat selection, as always, is superb! We also love how fresh salmon and tuna are. Mouth watering, wide-variety of sushi is a thumbs up too. Although the dessert section should be improved. I always love to make my own halo halo with only nata de coco and ube and I missed it this time as there's no nata de coco or ube but a few (4-5) ingredients only. Cakes are colorful but isn't that delicious. :( all in all, sambo kojin is still one of the best buffet :)
The meat selection is amazing but the dessert could be improved. I'm a big fan of tempura and the ones offered here lived up to my expectations. The sushi selection is also quite generous but since I'm not fond of it, I didn't bother to try. Service is a bit slow as we had to wait long for our bill to arrive but ok nonetheless
