I am really not a fan of think pizza's. I love pizzas with thick and tasty dough so the first the that I saw the pizzas from this store, I just focused on the toppings. We had our pizzas to go and I find it delicious. Their sauce isn't bland too. The price is reasonable enough.

Yummy pizza! Tried bobo's pizza. Loooooove the string of cheese everytime i get a slice.

Do note that this is outdoors, though. Few seats, fast serving.

Would definitely come back and try their other pizzas!

Ate with my bff last Valentines and they have a promo na sobrang worth it. Sobrang flavorful nung heart-shaped pizza and chewy yung bread. Masarap din yung aglio olio (sorry 4 the spelling if mali) tho medj maalat. Also liked the concept of outdoor dining kaso since medj highway yung location, better siguro if they also consider having a closed area talaga

Brick oven Pizza adds flavor and richness to the pizza though. Bobo's creativity produces some of the finest pizzas in the street of Maginhawa. More @ chasingcookouts.wordpress.com

Place does not have aircon and you sit in monoblocs. You will be sitting a few steps away from the road. But then, it was all worth it. We ordered Bobo's Special and Bolognese. Both were really good.

One of Maginhawa's must-visit food places.

In one of Zomato and PLDT SME gatherings, I met other restaurant owners, learned new concepts with them and shared experiences. Here, I also met Brian who eventually invited me to Bobo's Pizzeria.

The name actually stands for its main offering- Best of Brick Oven Pizza. Its name surprises like what they offer in a small yet cozy hub along the densely populated food area of Maginhawa.

Besides a variety of pizza, they also have pasta and risotto creations. Their brick oven masterpieces offers light thin dough with flavorful toppings for a steal deal. The tasty Napoletana was just Php 175 for a whole pie. You can even have two types on that 8 inch diameter.

Osso Bucco Safron Risotto was my favorite. It came
with creamy rice and a generous portion of succulent beef and tomatoes. We were supposed to share this, I forgot and ate most of it. Superb deal at Php 185.

The pastas presented were my least favorites but still a bargain. The Pesto had a weak taste. I guess it could use more pesto presence and parmesan for more intense flavor. The Bobo's Pasta which was a combination of meat and veggies had a nice touch of tomato sweet and sour tomato sauce and spiced meat.

Since it's located on the open street, expect unfavorable temperatures and no restroom. It is a place though for great Italian picks!

Have to give justice to the food and the reviews for Bobo's. Glad to be part of the food tasting hosted by Zomato after a few weeks of stress at work (plus it's super near my new office! Hehe)

Bobo's is a small and open (no air-conditioning) restaurant along the street of Maginhawa. It's actually my first time here and I was kinda surprised that they have good yet affordable Italian cuisine. For the Zomato food taste, we had the following:

Pizza (very affordable brick oven pizza in the metro)

Bobo's Pizza - One of their famous pizza and is definitely worth your money!

Quattro Formaggi - may favorite among pizza cos it has a generous amount of cheese! Drooling and will probably go back for more! :)

Pepperoni Pizza - Good amount of pepperoni and cheese but it didn't really stood out among the group.

Margherita Pizza - It was served a bit too late but it didn't disappoint :)

All meat Pizza - Meat in the pizza would include pepperoni, ham and sauasage. I just hope it had more meat like bacon!

Hawaiian Pizza - not really a fan of it but some of the Zomato foodies said it was okay.

Pasta

Aglio Olio Tuna Pasta - CAUTION: too spicy but very delicious

Bolognese Pasta - Reminds me of the bolognese pasta I had in Bicol which I love the most. SO GOOD!

Puttanesca - The sauce is kinda bland (something to improve on!)

Carbonara - Creamy but a bit bland. Hope there's more cheeese.

Risotto Meals (afforable risotto meals)

Osso Buco Saffron - Meat is tender and a very tasty sauce. I just hope the sauce is mixed with the risotto.

Il Pesce Pesto - Was kinda hesitant to eat this cos the risotto is paired with deep fried fish fillet, but it is actually good.  The risotto itself has distinct pesto taste and was a crowd favorite that night.

Salsiccia Tomato and Il meatballs tomato- Wasn't able to try both cos I was already full but most of the Zomato foodies loved it.

Desserts (started with pizza, ended with pizza)

Apple cinnamon pizza - Flavorful dessert pizza. We just hope it has a thinner crust and served with ice cream!

Choco-nut pizza - It's good but there were some parts with burnt chocolate which resulted to bitter taste.

When we are having a foodtrip at maginhawa area, I always see this restaurant because of it's huge signage at the roof. But, this is my first time to eat there. and here are my review.

Food: 4.0/5.0 - Considering it's price, Bobo's pizzeria is one of the most delicious restaurant along maginhawa. Pizza's ranges from 165-225 pesos. I liked the "all meat pizza" among all flavors because it has generous toppings of meat and lot's of cheese. Next is the pasta dishes. Must try is their Aglio Olio Pasta which is a oil based pasta with tuna chunks and chili flakes. the pasta is al dente and the olive oil is just right. I also liked that they made it spicy in order to satisfy my palate. Almost all their pastas are good and well flavored. They also have Rissoto. I liked the il pesce Pesto.  This is the best dish they served that time. although their rice is quite dry, The flavor is still there. The fried fish complements well to the pesto rice. and lastly my favorite part is the dessert. They have two dessert pizzas to choose which is the apple cinnamon and the choco nut flavor. I liked the apple cinnamon pizza but i think it can improve more.

To sum it up. Bobo's Pizzeria offer's straightforward italian dishes at a lower cost.

.

Ambiance: 3.0/5.0 - A 15 seater restaurant near the popular streat food hall lacked on some aspects. Their utensils are all disposable( Yellow Cab type). their place is not airconditioned which turns very hot on summer and their tables and chairs are on the sidewalk area. I hope that they will improve their looks because foodies nowadays are attracted to themed and well designed restaurants.

Last week, I was invited to have dinner at Bobo’s Pizzeria along Maginhawa St. in Quezon City. This was my first time to explore the Maginhawa area which has become a food street in the past few years. We just never got around to going there because it was a bit out of the way for us, and when we talk about eating in QC, the places that come to mind are Banawe and Morato.

Anyway, I was so happy to finally see Maginhawa! There are so many new restaurants to try out! Most of the places are small, seating maybe 10-30 people on average.

BOBO’S PIZZERIA

Bobo’s Pizzeria is literally a “sidewalk” restaurant – they have tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk in front of their little hole in the wall along Maginhawa St. in Teacher’s Village in Quezon City.

They offer Italian-inspired dishes like pizza, pasta, risotto. I was able to try several pizzas, but the one I liked the best was their Margherita Pizza (P175), which was really delicious. Bobo’s has a brick oven which helps in producing a wonderful pizza crust.

Their toppings were generous by the standards of thin-crust pizza, however, I thought the meat toppings lacked some flavor – the pepperoni and other meats were not as salty nor as flavorful as I expected them to be.

For the pasta, I was able to try the Puttanesca (P145) and the Aglio Olio Tuna Pasta (P145). The pasta was cooked al dente, however, I think both dishes still need a bit of fine-tuning. The tuna pasta is hot & spicy, FYI for those who might not expect it to be.

For the risottos, the ones I liked were the Meat Balls (P135) and the Salsiccia Tomato (P145). The Meat Balls actually taste more Asian than Italian, but it was good. The Salsiccia Tomato is Italian Garlic Sausage in tomato sauce, I kept going back to get another taste of this dish! It wasn’t too spicy and I liked the rich tomato sauce.

Take note of the rice used – it is a short, round rice that is used for risotto, and not the regular rice we are used to. Risotto is also cooked differently than regular rice. The way risotto is cooked results in a creamier, plumper, more flavorful rice.

The Osso Buco Saffon (P185) was also good (this is a slice of beef shank, including the marrow, in a tomato-based sauce) and you’d be hard-pressed to find any restaurant selling Osso Buco and Saffron Risotto at this price.

Servings of the risottos and accompanying meats were generous – enough to fill up a hungry person. For the meat balls, I count at least 7 pcs! The Salsiccia has 2 whole sausages.

For dessert, Bobo’s has Apple Cinnamon (P145) and Choco Peanut (P145). They were both delicious, the Apple Cinnamon was my favorite that night, the pizza crust so thin it was delightfully crispy! I do hope that they offer other desserts as well, because even though the dessert pizzas were good, at that point, I was getting tired of eating pizza again (I never thought I’d ever say those words).

For drinks, they have Sola Iced Tea and the local Stellina’s Lemonades.

SUMMARY

Bobo’s Pizzeria offers Italian dishes at affordable prices – most of the pizzas are priced below P200! Risotto meals, yes, it’s not regular rice, but risotto, are priced around P150. For the price range, there is no cause for me to complain about the food at Bobo’s Pizzeria; the Margherita Pizza was actually quite good. They use a brick oven and that does add some points in Bobo’s favor. I also liked the Salsiccia Tomato (Italian Garlic Sausage and Risotto) – I would recommend this if you like a hearty sausage and rice dish.

However, the set up is al fresco (open air) – the tables and chairs are set up on the sidewalk. This may appeal to you, making the ambience feel more like authentic street food. Or not. Personally, the challenge of dining al fresco, on the sidewalk, in humid Manila weather, detracted a bit from my enjoyment of the meal. They have an evaporative cooler to help keep their customers a little cooler.

We also had to be extra alert regarding our personal belongings since it was an open area where other people could come and go and walk by. To be fair, the staff of Bobo’s Pizzeria do look after their patrons and steer any vendors away.

During that meal, we used plastic utensils and paper plates. I get that using disposable utensils is more hygienic and there is no need to wash things, but just FYI so you won’t be surprised when you go there.

Parking is available and free, if you can get a spot on the street 🙂 It’s a busy place.

Bobo’s Pizzeria is a good value Italian-inspired al fresco dining option for those who don’t mind the lack of amenities and are okay with being “cowboy”.

I've been to Maginhawa thousands of times but this is my first time to try out Bobo's (ty zomato team ty trish!! haha)

Verdict: Pizza > Pasta

I love how they met my expectation for pizza at a budget friendly price. They were generous with their toppings and it seasoned well. I dislike all meat pizzas but wow they serve pretty good all meat pizzas. It didn't taste like dog food (lol i call meatballs dog food anyway) the combination of meat on the pizza made it taste really good

Pasta was just okay. Nothing special. Or maybe cos I have high expectations especially when it comes to carbonara. It was a little bit bland and soupy...

Had both their dessert pizza and I like the nutty chocolate one better. Wish they would expand their desserts cos honestly I got umay after eating the pizzas served earlier haha

Good budget friendly find though. Will come back again

After reading all the reviews in Zomato about this place, I was a bit hesitant to visit because I might just waste my time and money for it. Curiosity got the best of me when Zomato invited me so I went anyway. Well, there is nothing fancy on the ambiance since you get to sit on chairs on the sidewalk, and it's as al fresco as you can get, not really suitable for our summer heat.

Nevertheless, I was surprised when the eating began. Bobo's or Best in Brick Oven Pizzeria serves affordable and delicious Italian dishes but do not scrimp on quality. Their dishes are authentic in taste. The menu is basically divided into three: pizza, pasta, and risotto. During this visit, we tasted virtually everything on the menu.

Premium Pizza: Bobo's Pizza, All-Meat, Four Cheese: my favorite would be the Bobo's Pizza because it is a mix of everything. The toppings are generous and everything can be tasted. That is how fresh it is.

Classic Pizza: Margherita, Hawaiian, Pepperoni: an uncle once told me that the best way to test the skill of a chef is to try their most basic dish, if they can make it well, then the more difficult dishes would not be a problem. And this is how I felt with their Margarita. One bite, and the cheese, tomato, and basil can be tasted, and fresh too. I was so happy with this pizza, I bought one for take out and gave it to my wife, which she consumed everything before we got home.

Generally, I like their pizza crust because it is crispy and crunchy, like eating a biscuit with texture. It is something I would want to finish and come back too.

Dessert: they also offer dessert pizzas: Choco-Nut and Apple Cinnamon. I prefer the Apple Cinnamon because of its fragrance and flavor. The crust for the dessert is thinner and crispier.

Pasta: Bolognese, Carbonara, Puttanesca, Aglio Olio. For a non-beef eater like me, I love that their bolognese is made with pork, but my favorite would be their Puttanesca, just enough saltiness and sourness that makes you crave for more. The carbonara did not work well for me because I find it too liquid instead of creamy. The bacon was also thick and difficult to chew. The Tuna Aglio Olio was spicy, I was surprised when I ate it. I hope that they would note on the menu that it is spicy so that customers will be warned. They serve tomato-based and cream-based sauces on linguine and oil-based sauces on spaghetti - I like the technicality of it.

Risotto: Meatball, FIsh Pesto, Osso Buco, Chicken and Tomato, Sausage: Risotto is a very difficult dish to make, if you watch Top Chef and Top Chef Masters, it is the dish that always sends a chef home. I like Bobo's risottos because they are perfectly cooked and creamy. My favorite would be their chicken and tomato. The chicken is very tender for a breast part, and the tomato blended with the risotto well.

The only downside for this restaurant is well, it's hot eating outside, with disposable utensils, and no toilet. With a few seats, I would suggest they invest in plastic utensils instead. I can recommend Bobo's if you want something legit yet affordable. In my opinion, it can be compared with Greenwich Pizza in terms of taste. I would be willing to travel from Binondo for a taste of their pizza again.

I’ve always been curious about Maginhawa Street. I’ve been hearing a lot about it from my boyfriend and seeing a lot of articles in social media. I’m a southern girl so yea, that explains it. I then asked my boyfriend to go exploring in Maginhawa Street. I asked him if we could pick a place we haven’t really tried before (we’ve tried Friuli before but I didn’t really know that it was in Maginhawa; that’s how clueless I was before).

I first ate here one random night, after a Sunday night mass. I think they were just about a few months old then, and we wanted to eat somewhere new.

Margheritta Pizza: An “okay” pizza. Nothing memorable.
Puttanesca Pasta: Rich tomato flavor, great pasta choice.

*No pictures, but stuff I’ve also tried out:
Bobo’s Pizza: Definitely their must-try pizza. Interesting choice of toppings. I like how their cheese isn’t too salty.
Pepperoni Pizza: Another “okay” pizza.
Pesto Pasta: Satisfies my pesto cravings, but lacking in the meat department. It would be nice if they had like chicken tenders in it.
Carbonara Pasta: Creamy and satisfactory.
Il Pesce Pesto: (Pesto rice with fish fillet) one of my favorites!! The fish was simple and ordinary, but the pesto rice was the real star of the show! The pesto was fresh and very yummy. They complemented each other well.

All in all, Bobo’s is a nice place with nice food. I’m looking forward to trying our their pesto pizza and dessert pizzas.

Bobo's pizzeria seems not a nice place to go when you want to go to maginhawa, because when you see the place it is small, no aircon, but the food is a must try. My mother tried to buy in this place because we are curious on what they offer considering that there is another nearby pizza and pasta place. Their pizza is very reasonably priced I say for the price, it offers a great taste and the dough is very good, and their pasta i guess is a hidden gem here, overall the place is a very good choice if you want to take out a food that is tasty I'll say that this place is very under rated.

Their pizza and pasta is delicious and affordable. The pizza stays crunchy even when it is cold. The area just needs expansion because it's open, small, and near the road. We don't want our food to taste like car fumes. In terms of the food, I suggest you give it a try. :)

Ordered a 10-inch pepperoni pizza (for 175 pesos!) all for myself. I didn't mind eating alone. I was happily devouring this pizza sent by angels from the highest heavens above. Paired with beer I bought from a ministop nearby, this thin-crust brick-oven baked pizza might very well be one of my last meals before i die.

Great food! Pocket friendly! Worth the walk :) hahaha. Good thing we saw it while walking coz were randomly looking for a place to eat. Destiny lol

Ordered all meat pizza with anchovies and its delicious! Its thin crust so theres no umay factor. Coz i get umay if the crust is too thick

Pasta. Servings are appropriate for the price.

My Mom's good friend owns the place and he asked us to give it a try knowing we both love food. I know that the food is really, really good when my Mom who doesn't eat pizza finishes her half of the thing. We ordered the pesto and Bobo's Pizza. Soooo good, although the pasta was a bit oily (but it's fine cos it's virign oil). Plus it's affordable, great place for students to hang out, maingay lang cos it's on the sidewalk.

For someone who's into Italian, I'd give their food a two thumbs up! We tried their Bobo's Pizza and Bobo's pasta and it was satisfying. Yummy. I'll come back here and try some from their menu next time. You get the value you paid for. It's be better if the place would get bigger though. Overall, I love it!

Got bored at home so I decided to have roadtrip all the way to Teacher's Village. For then on still haven't decided which food to eat, I could have a burger, steak sandwich, rice meal or persian dish that are availble around the area. Then I saw this pizzeria that serve neopolitan style pizzas and pasta. I love eating at Italian restaurants, but its usually ideal for groups of 3 or more where you can order the food and share with others. This pizzeria is ideal for those eating alone or in pairs. I order at the counter one whole pizza which is around 12inches in size, just waited for 5minutes and its good to go. Cooks very quick on a brick oven thats why they served it fast. I can devour their whole pizza serving in one seating as the size is good for up to two people. Prices are very reasonable, sort of a neopolitan style pizza at a fastfood price. I will definitely come back and try the others as well.

Their pizza is so affordable considering its size. It can be shared by 2-3 people depending on your appetite or depending if you have side orders like their chips or pasta. The taste is good although we haven't tried bobo's pizza (specialty) since they ran out of it. We ordered all meat pizza instead. The place is ok if you want to hang out and have few drinks. No need to dress up since it's just a take out place with few tables outside.

Every Sunday I go to Teacher's Village for my review but we rarely go out since our brain's are too tired from the mind work out. One time though the BF surprised me by coming over and asking me out to lunch but by that time my brain was fried already from lack of sleep and discussing too much drugs and pathophysiology.  I didn't have the energy to pick. Luckily, we passed by Bobo's and since we always pass by it on our way home and it seemed like a good place because there'd always be a lot of people dining.

The place itself is not really big, they only have a couple of tables and no indoor dining, I mean it's all an open area beside the road. They don't have a restroom though because of the limited space, I guess they didn't have anywhere to put it.

There's a decent amount of items on the menu and they really look promising.  We settled for their All Meat Pizza (205php) and just for reference: in Shakey's size that would be a little bit smaller than a large. It'd be good enough for two if you're not that hungry but if you are, maybe it would be a good idea to order another and if you do, you might want to look at their promos.

I liked it a lot. If y'all are pizza fans (in my book that would be a person who loves pizza fancy or cheap as long as it's good) like me then you're sure to appreciate it.  There are more toppings than you'd expect for a 200php pizza and in terms of flavor, it isn't lacking.

Talking about Bobo's seriously gave me a craving. I might just go back there this Sunday! Let me know what you think! If you want me to try something out in the menu or else where, let me know in the comments below. And click the link below to check out my blog. Connect with me on any of the social media platforms on there!

Happy Eating! :)

My friends from work are craving for something between pizza and good amount of serving, and frankly, Bobo's Pizzeria is the right place!

We ordered each of ourselves a pasta and two pizzas. Imagine our hilarious surprise when we saw other tables sharing a platter. But we were really hungry! so we still finished each of our pasta and pizzas.

We ordered: Pesto Pasta, Carbonara, Bolognese Pasta, All Meat Pizza, and Hawaiian Pizza.

The Pesto Pasta was really tasty despite the leafy taste. I really loved it! My friend also said the carbonara were creamy and he loved it too! Though my other friend was not really a fan of Italian sauce, she likes her pasta to be a little sweet, but since she add an amount of cheese on her bolognese, she liked it too.

All in all, if you want to have a simple and sweet yet fun and cool date, I guess you could bring your partner at Bobo's! Their place is still a bit small for groups. But they have take outs, so yeah, you could still enjoy their pizzas!

PS. their crew are super nice and accomodating. :)
