One of the better ramen place in the metro. Their ramen sets are perfect for those like me who wants to try not just ramen but other food items as well.
I like their ramen but they have only offer limited flavors. Hope they could introduce more ramen soon!
We were actually planning to have some Ramen and we ended up with these two delectable dishes Tonkatsu (Pork) and Sake Furai (Furai is actually derived from Fried, however Japanese is having hard time to pronounce the word “Fried”) I love these two dishes.
I am often turned off by the soft-boiled egg in Ramen dishes, but this one had a creamy, yummy set that goes well with the tasty soup and generous serving of beef. It’s worth another visit!
I don’t know what took me so long to try Santouka! Their takoyakis (with cheese) are heavenly! I especially loved their salmon( fresh and tasty) and their ramen (though a bit pedestrian) meshes well with the rest of the items in their bento dishes. I do encourage you to see for yourself☺️
I like it here. Its isolated and quiet. You can eat the tasty ramen in peace. I want to visit one more time, its very comforting. I want more ramen!
Was an extremely busy day for this day when we got there. This was my second time to dine in this same branch.
Ordered the kara miso ramen and it was nice and filled with umami with a kick of spice
Gyozas were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside
Staff were extremely accomodating despite being extremely weeded. We asked to sit outside so they litteraly carried a table outside. That is good service
Spicy ramen will forever be my favorite choice, and one of the places where I first had it was at Santouka. ❤️ Unlike the usual fiery offerings, theirs is mild, so even beginners can enjoy it too.
The Kara Miso features a creamy pork broth mixed with bright chili oil. You get springy egg noodles in generous amounts, some chewy black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and slices of tender pork belly. A garnish of thinly sliced leeks complete the look, as it sits on top of this hearty bowl.
It's guaranteed to fill you up nicely, and keep you warm. 😁
If you're from the area, Santouka is probably the most underrated ramen spot. My ramen-crazed friends would always choose Santouka over the other ramen option in UPTC. I recommend their toroniku ramen and their miso ramen options. Their tsukemen is very tasty and worth the try even for soup fans. I've also tried their gyoza and takoyaki which are pretty tasty as well. Service is great! The staff isn't loud and they're proactive (they always make sure your glass of water is filled which I really appreciate as I hate calling the attention of waiters too often).

This is currently my sister's go to ramen because of its proximity to our place. Their broth, for me, tastes better than Ramen Nagi's. It's not too oily nor too salty.
We ordered their Santouka set meals. These meals are combination of their rice meals plus their solo order ramen. It is best for those who have moderate to big appetite.
- Santouka Pork cutlet and rice bowl set- Pork cutlet comes with tonkatsu sauce, cup of rice, veggies, small portion of fruit cocktail, ramen and hot tea
- Santouka Fried chicken and rice bowl set- fried chicken comes with a chili sauce dip, cup of rice, veggies, small portion of fruit cocktail, rame and hot tea
* for their ramen - you can choose which flavor you’d like to have, we chose Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen
- Pork Gyoza (5 pcs) not on the photo - tasty and savory, you will be the one to make your own dip, it’s a mixed of sou sauce and vinegar
Everything that we order is delicious! We thought that worth of 500 pesos of meal for one person is expensive and this must be satisying and I’m happy it did not fail us. You get your complete meal on the Santouka set meals! Their ramen in this meal is miso based soup. Their hot tea is really good, it is flavored, tastes like strawberry. I wasn’t able to ask their staff.
The resto is small, although they have a secluded area if you want to may be celebrate your birthday only to eat and chat with your close friends, family or relatives, can also hold a lunch meeting. Even though this resto is small, they have their own restroom which is good to have.
The only thing that I can comment for opportunity is attentiveness because when we asked for some of the leftovers to be taken out, we also ask for our bill, it took them time, we already have our take out, and still no bill handed over to us, owe thought that they are preparing for it but when we asked again,no one is getting it yet. After asking again, they immediately assist us to settle.
Before they opened the UPTC branch, my family used to frequent the Trinoma branch. I personally like this branch better ambiance wise, since its separated from the mall (I can’t explain this quite well but it’s still inside the mall, but detached from it) with its own roof. However, it’s quite cramped inside and they could have utilized the space better by making the outdoor area smaller since people usually opt for indoor seats. I go to UPTC frequently and every time I pass by this restaurant, I can’t recall seeing anybody eat outside.
As for the food, I always order the same thing: Set E (fried prawns with salmon) along with shio ramen. I constantly crave this and I never seem to get tired of eating this particular meal. It’s my comfort food and the set is pretty worth it considering its serving size! You can always share the set with someone if you can’t finish it, or just order the food you like individually 😊
It was my first time at this branch. The place is cute but the tables and chairs are limited, and it felt cramped. The exterior is really pretty like those dainty Japanese houses and the inside is modern with light fixtures and steel chairs.
But I went here for their ramen. Instead of my usual Awase-Aji ramen, I had their set meal of Shio ramen and Char Siu pao, while my friend had an order of Takoyaki.
This is just my opinion, but I really prefer their broth and meat over Ramen Nagi's. I wish they would ask their customers the preferred noodle doneness or firmness and texture, as I prefer my noodles hard and chewy.
The char siu pao's mantou bun felt cold and old, the sauce was a bit cold and not warm, but the meat was soft and just melts in your mouth. Best Santouka char siu pao award goes to their Eastwood branch.
I did not try my friend's takoyaki though, but she liked it.
The staff are not too warm and accommodating and we had to call their attention several times, but I'll let it pass as we were served in a timely manner nonetheless.
Place:
The ambiance was extraordinary, nicely lit and relaxing. Though sitting was limited and it tends to be a bit crowded inside.
Service:
Staff were friendly and very attentive to all customers. We never had a difficult time calling out a staff as they were really fast in providing service.
Food:
Ordered the set meal so we can try both the Ramen and other dish. The ramen I ordered was Shio Ramen, it was amazing, the noodles were thicker and this had me full already even before I could start with my Tonkatsu.
I was teasing Kat because we just fought recently and she's trying to make it up to me by feeding me food that I was craving for. We both wanted ramen that time but it was mostly me who was craving it, so she said we should try this place because it's been there for some time and we haven't tried it yet. And so we did.

PLACE - 5.0
It was well lit. The decor matches their motif. The place was also well ventilated and by the looks of it, it was clean and authentic looking. It was quiet during the time we went there since there weren't any people eating at that time.
PEOPLE - 5.0
The people were very friendly and accommodating. We ate here for a very late lunch so there weren't any people at that time. The crew were very attentive to our needs. Everytime they see my class empty, they automatically come to me to offer me water. I even got a bit shy and just asked to leave the pitcher on our table since I drink a lot of water.
FOOD - 4.5
1. Kara Miso
The broth was very flavorful although I was expecting it to be spicy. Maybe I just have a high threshold for spicy food. Because of this, I accidentally poured an entire bottle of chili on my bowl. It still tasted great though! The pork melts in my mouth, the toppings were plenty and it was a decent bowl of ramen. I'm just not a fan of the noodles itself. I like my noodles a firm and a bit chewy. Nevertheless, I enjoyed slurping the broth and filling my belly with ramen goodness
2. Shio Ramen
Kat is a big fan of garlic flavor on her ramen. Me, not so much. She seemed to enjoy her regular size bowl while I devour my big ass bowl of ramen. She even let me finish her bowl because she was already full. For most parts, the content of our ramen is just the same, the only difference is the broth. Both are good but I'd stick to something spicy
3. Charsiu Roll
It complements our dish well. Kat's not a big fan of rolls and sushi. She only likes selected variants, and this one she liked. The plate consists of 6 bite sized rolls and it is served with a small plate of tangy dipping sauce. Can't really distinguish what it was but I liked it very much!
EATCREDIBLE TIP: if you and your partner are not heavy eaters , just order one large bowl and split it.
Do we recommend? If you have the budget for it and if you want to try different ramen places, then why not!

Just ate at their UP Town Center branch during Holy Saturday, we were looking for a no-meat meal. As usual, the place is full and had to wait for our turn. Turns out its well worth it. We're craving for either seafood and chicken (bawal ang meat sa Holy Week). I opted for the pack meal together with the others, fortunate for me I'm mot in a diet. Missed the taste of authentic ramen, chicken/salmon is tasty and soft, the sides are tasty too. Need to remind myself to go for maki and sushi on our next visit. Overall, food is excellent and worth the price.
We first tried Hokkaido Ramen Santouka at Trinoma and from then, I already have a biased opinion about it: they serve a truly filling ramen set for a competitive price. I know the set meal was meant to be a meal set for one person but if you don't have that much big of an appetite, then you can consider their sets for sharing. Having that in mind, we decided to choose the same restaurant at the UPTC after a really long day spent at this open mall along Katipunan.
Most of the time, we opt for menus that are not on the regular list. Referring to the photos I included, we saw them on their posters and we thought we should try these as they are something new. My sister ordered the Seafood Ramen while I ordered a Katsu Ramen (I don't remember if it was chicken or pork katsu since we visited around late November 2017... it has been that long LOL).
Anyway, the seafood ramen was filled with REAL seafood - shrimp and squid - and an ample serving of it that I got to share some with my sister. The katsu ramen, on the other hand, was a fresh experience for me since I rarely get dry noodles with dipping soup/sauce. As fresh the experience I've had with this choice, the taste of the ramen itself isn't something new. It's just like a regular shio ramen with the noodles separate from the soup. Overall, expectations has still been met - large servings (in my opinion) which is great! AND they've surpassed our expectations on the seafood ramen because of the generous serving of real seafood.
Good, authentic tasting ramen, delicious gyoza, and good service made for a nice experience. Place is a bit cramped, though.
Some may say it's not as 'flavorful' or salty as Nagi, but then again, traditional Japanese ramen aren't that overly salty.
They got accommodating staff. Food was good and its price was worth it. Their ramen is kind of average as compared with the other ramen shop in Makati.
Loved their Shio Ramen. I can describe it as simple yet the broth was full of flavor without it being too nakakaumay as you finish the bowl. My boyfriend ordered their Kara-Miso Ramen, which he loved. Also ordered the Kurobuta Gyoza. It was very meaty and tasty, although compared to gyoza’s from other restaurants, theirs is kinda small.
Update : Tried their Shoyu Ramen out and I like it better than the Shio one. The taste of soy sauce is incorporated in the broth yet it isn’t salty or overpowering at all.
The servers were nice but I would suggest for them to not linger too much beside the tables while the customers are eating as it’s awkward for me. Overall, this place does not deserve its 2.7 rating, the food is good, place is well-kept, and the service is good.
Great food my gahd hindi siya 2.5 believe me. Lab et da best swear i ate many ramens please believe me di ako binayaran pramis. Good job omygod ang haba pala ng 140 characters
そのおいしい!!! Friendly staffs too! 👏🏻 Though it is really expensive overall experience is great! I am certainly going back here. 👍🏻 またね!!!!!
Me and my friends were really craving for ramen and opt to go to Hokkaido to satisfy our craving. Since the restaurant is new, we never expected that there was no aircon that time. The ramen was obviously hot but we were not prepared for the lack of ventilation. Though the ramen is really good.
We loved the food here especially my mom who is a picky eater. It was our first time to eat here last Saturday. I rated it 3.5 because of the service. The staff were not attentive to our needs . We had to ask them for condiments, water etc repeatedly. They are not really nice and accomodating.
The place is also quite small. I hope service would be improved as the food is really good.
I had Shio ramen at Santouka and I love that the soup is thicker than usual and flavorful. It retains the heat well. The noodles are springy and firm. Aside from the Shio, they also have Shoyu (soy sauce), Miso (soybean paste), Kara-Miso (spicy soybean paste) and their specialty ramens. The iberian pork ramen is also really, really good.
Aside from ramens, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka also serves gyoza, tonkatsu, tori (chicken) karaage, soft shell crab salad, sushi, takoyaki, Char siu pao, Salmon roll roe and Charsiu roll. The Karaage was a nice savory appetizer and the soft-shell crab salad is a nice contrast of textures. I'll be back to check out their other dishes.
We tried Ramen Santouka on its opening week because we heard a lot of good reviews on their ramen. We ordered their Shio, Kara-Miso, and Miso ramen and were filled with mouth-watering broth and perfectly cooked noodles! It's a must-try for ramen lovers.
