This place is so special to me. Used to have a lot of memories here BUT! Dont order for take out or delivery orders. Their rice will magically turn into a stone and you will hardly eat it.
The sushi is nothing special for me..but surprisingly the best restaurant around the area. (Unless you want a fast food)
Staff is not friendly though. But its okay.
Their tonkatsu rice and oyakudon is tasty but it has a lot of rice for a piece of meat. (Exaggerated tons of rice)
P.S. Dont order the salad.

Our family would normally dine here whenever we crave Japanese food. Their servings are big but the space is small so prepare to either come early or wait for your turn. It satisfy your Japanese craving especially if you’re looking fo authentic quality!
If you're looking for a quick japanese craving fix with a tight budget then this is the place for you. I find this place very comforting for those who just had a very busy day. The serving is very generous and the taste- superb!
Haven't been to the actual resto but had food delivered a couple of times. The staff were very accommodating and delivered the food on time. The food was okay and affordable.
If you're looking for a Japanese quick fix, well you are in the right place. The price range is affordable and the servings is quite big it can feed up to 2 pax. Although the space is small the food is very tasty.
It’s not outstanding Japanese food but the servers are nice, water is served immediately and it has a homey community feel to it. I personally like their tuna sashimi. For all the times I went there, it was served fresh. I do want them to improve on their makis.
Been here numerous times. If you're looking for a 4 star authentic japanese food and yet more affordable than tokyo2, then don't forget to drop by and taste the foods in red hana!

If you’re looking for affordable yet delish Japanese food in Quezon City, you should definitely try Red Hana. We’ve been dining here for the nth time because their food never disappoints.
The place is a bit small so seats are limited too. Place can get very crowded at times, and ambiance is okay. I have tried most of their dish but my favorite will always be their Sakuyaki and Tempura Soba.
Red Hana (formerly know as Maguro) has been existing for more than a decade since I grew up a few blocks away from the area. Been here more than 5 times.
🏖 AMBIENCE:
The place is air conditioned with Japan-inspired design. The area feels a little bit cramped since there are times that you would be able to touch elbows with the person behind you if there are lots of people
🍽 FOOD & 🍹DRINKS:
Since one of my favorite food is California maki, I ordered it asap. They are serving two kinds of California maki and California Special. I tried them both and I must say that their makis taste ok. Others like miso and sashimi’s taste is standard.
💆♂️ SERVICE:
Service was normal. When there are lots of people, most likely it would take some time before the food would be ready so make sure that you are not in a hurry.
🚳 PARKING:
Limited parking slots available. Parking is shared with the bank and the apartment where it is located.
🌏 OVERALL:
Affordable. :)
One of the most affordable Japanese resto I've encountered that where the food is really good. Love the maki. 👍🏻 Probably the first resto that I praised for good maki. 🙌🏻
Number of times visited: more than 2X
Parking: Limited, in front of the store
Food: The food is okay for its price. The sukiyaki is generous in serving and good for 2-3 people. It’s great tasting and flavorful, it’s one of our favorites in Red Hana.
The beef that they use in the gyudon is quite tough. This dish would have been okay if the meat used were more tender.
The maki and sushi are also okay but don’t expect it to have the same quality as what top Japanese restaurants offer.
Price : Affordable.
Service: Polite attendants and quick service.
Place: It’s quite a small place and the seats not that comfortable.
Repeat: Yes for the affordable sukiyaki.
For me, this is the best japanese restaurant in Quezon City in terms of price and quality of food. Must trys: Crunchy Cali, Crab and Corn, Oyakudon, Tempura and Lemon Juice.
Foods were amazingly good and affordable except for the gyoza that was served to me, imagine the texture and taste of a gyoza which just came out of the freezer then fried. A bit disappointing, hopefully you can do research on how to serve gyoza better. I like the ambiance and how attentive the servers were. Considering all my personal parameters, I'd still recommend Red Hana.

Red hana is not what you instantly spot while driving along matalino street but i tell you it is a golden needle in a hey stack. Price is to good to be true they serve more sushi than what you paid for. You must try the crunchy maki's they have, its a taste of oh some awesomeness.
My all-time favorite is the Mixed Seafood Rice Toppings. Portions and ingredients are enough. The best is the sauce they used for this dish.
Mix seafood salad with Sashimi for Php285👍👍👍
Ebi Tempura (4pcs) for Php175 👍👍👍
Teppanyaki Chicken for Php155 👍👍👍
AFFORDABLE PRICE 👍👍👍
PLACE 👍👍
CUSTOMER SERVICE 👍👍👍
Very affordable japanese foods. I've ordered beef teriyaki, it was delicious. Tamang tama yung sweetness. The california maki is also good. Place is a little crowded, lots of people are eating especially dinner.
This is your affordable japanese cuisine place. Don't expect too much though because this is not your usual posh Japanese restaurants. My fave food here is their Gyudon and Miso Soup.

Invited by a friend who's working here and also tried their sushi's and ramen. Affordable, staffs are accommodating and nice place. We'll go back again soon.
Red Hana is a small sushi resto I found along Matalino Street in Diliman. I tried the beef teriyaki once which is actually some sort of sweet beef strips, and rice with fried sesame seeds on top and veggies as the side dish. The following day, I had gyudon beef, its a big egg fried with sweet and salty beef which are on top of the big bowl of rice. The serving is really BIG. I think it is good for 1-2 person. Price is actually cheap and goes around 110-200 pesos only. Serving is quite great since they attended to our needs and our orders arrived after few minutes. Give it a try.
If you're craving for some Japanese dishes but you don't have quite the budget, try Red Hana. :) Compared to Nagi and other well known restos, Red Hana cannot compare. However, it will get you full while delivering the Japanese taste you're looking for while not robbing you blind.
I especially love Gyudon and Oyakudon. Miso Ramen is also simple but delicious. Their gyozas are also good. :)
Accidentally came across this cute Japanese restaurant while taking a walk along Matalino St. The place was not crowded so I felt kinda relaxed. I decided to try the crunchy California maki. I was awed to see a big serving for a price of Php 125, thanks to the salad overlying the maki. The maki was on the healthier side as it contained lots of greens and fiber.
After invading a nearby law office, went out on a hunt for an affordable, yet decent and perfect-for-a-rainy-day lunch. We ended up in Red Hana. A small and catchy sushi bar.
Me and my sorority sister/ judo-baby got beef ramen ( good for 2), mix maki ( fish, tamago, crab and cali), red iced tea for her and hot calamansi for me.
VERDICT: My drink turns out to be freshly squeezed calamansi, which i really appreciate. The noodles is not really hand-pulled ( but with the price, i understand). However, the broth is EVERYTHING! Super tasty but not in an artificial way. Too, the maki looks kinda ordinary but i love the clean, fresh taste.

I ate there few days ago and i'm planning to go back today. I ordered California Maki Special(it has lettuce and jap mayo) and beef ramen. It was really good and i only paid 320. Good food for affordable prices. Not bad!
The food was great! It is recommended for those people who are craving for Japanese food on a budget. Recommended order for me is their ebi tempura. ?
Good value for money which is kinda rare for japanese restos nowadays. Friendly staff and manager. Huge bowl of miso soup for only 80 bucks. ? the makis are good because they use japanese rice -- the sticky ones. The devil is in the details. Will be back soon.
One of my favorite restos in the area. The food is very affordable and there are a lot of choices in their menu. The only thing that I dont like are the uncomfortable seats.
My favorite go to place if im craving for good food, good quantity and still on a low budget. My best picks would be their makis and defenitely try their crunchy makis! Their ramen is so legit! And if your a hungry hippo try thier rice bowls! Affordable and it tastes great too!!!
Red hana is a Japanese restaurant located at Matalino street. Although it is a bit more expensive than the otherbudget restaurants in the area, it makes up for it in both quantity and quality.
I used to be a guy who can down 11 servings of rice in college so trust me when I say that the portions are sufficient.
As for the quality, the food is just fresh. It isn't like other places who put too much flour to make up for the lack of meat. Moreover, the service is quick and the waiters are polite.
Overall, for me, red hana is one of the best restaurants in the area. One of the biggest regrets I have for leaving QC is that I cannot eat here that often anymore.
Very affordable Japs place good for a quick devouring of an 8 piece Cali maki for only 80 pesos, beat that ey? Located along Matalino street it doesn't present as the place's best option but worth a try at least once.

This is simply the best value for money Japanese food in the area. The deep fried Maguro is my favourite! If you're familiar with the old Maguro restaurant which used to be situated a block down, this is basically the same place.
Very affordable and delicious sushi's
Their food is nice and their large iced tea is worth it (well at least for me since it's too big for me). The only downside is it takes too long to serve our food.
