My husband and I celebrated valentines early. Craving for Filipino cuisine, we decided to go to Jay J's Kalayaan.
The chicharon bulaklak is amazing though there was a little bit of chewyness probably because of the big chunks.
Molo is also great with the meat tastes as newly prepared with the right amount of spices and flavor to it. The soup is calming and warm.
And of course there's the pancit canton that we loved and think that chorizo made it divine as well as the meat and veggies.
Overall serving for me is good for 2 hungry persons (3 if just there to unwind with drinks and have more chika moments).
We had a hard time finding a restaurant yesterday, November 1st, since it was a holiday so we settled dining in here for the night. It was my second time trying out the branch and my expectations were not that high. The Jay J's chicken was bland and the steamed vegetables was a regretful order. Although, the adobo rice and relyenong bangus were both satisfyingly good. An A+ for the very fast and accommodating service!
So mom keeps on telling us that we should try eating here and we did just a while ago during lunch time. There is a lot of parking space and the guard (I didn't see his name) was very nice and funny. The place is spacious and there were lots of seats everywhere. We ordered kare kare, pecho and sizzling gambas. The service crew was good and doing their jobs well but the serving time sucks. We waited around 20 minutes for our orders but it's okay. The food was delicious! Hands down to the sizzling gambas. Very delicious. Plus they gave us free small turon that was also tasty. I just hope the serving time won't be that long next time I liked their food very much. :)
The year is just starting but this is already the 2nd time for me eating at Jay-J's. 1st time was with hubby at Greenhills branch. This time with a bunch of the family.
My special request is their laing which I loved from my first visit. Their laing has similar taste to when you cook crabs with kangkong. Very yummy, can't get enough of it!
I suggested not to order their lechon kawali coz in our experience at the Greenhills branch, the meat is very tough.
Their kare-kare is good. The crispy squid heads is love ????❤️ not a fan of the grilled chicken but my sister and her kids loved it so, might be just me..
Seeing hubby and me and even the family going back here a number of times more. Price is affordable and food is good.
I like the food esp their bulalo that i got to sample when we had our pta farewell party...the second flr with the videoke and long tables is a big + :)
