Food was great, but they do need a major upgrade with their interiors and furniture. The ambience could have been lovely, but it just isn't possible with greying walls and cracked leather seats.
These guys serve excellent bread. Breakfast items are also fantastic here.
I love this neighborhood cafe. Interior looks great, perfect for brunch dates. We ordered the Big Apero Breakfast, Souffle Pancake and Porridge Waffle. I especially liked the home-made butter and jam waffle that comes with the meals. The Souffle Pancake, was ok, would order other items on the menu. For drinks, the 18 hr Cold Brew Latte was good! We did not like the 18 hour Cold Brew Soda. As it left a very weird combination of coffee and soda. Price is a bit expensive but all in all, a good dining experience. The staff were pleasant and attentive.
Excellent brunch, affordable prices. Got the mushroom asparagus tartine and banana souffle pancake, both really good! ......................
Great service and great food! I recommend getting a side of their mashed potatoes with [anything really]. The ambience is cozy and chic at the same time. Would definitely come back again!
You can park at the basement and it's free. Yey...😅 but it's all stairs if you want to get back up, so it would be wise to drop off your senior citizens before parking.
There are several stores you can go to but our target today is breakfast. Note that Rustan's Marketplace here is already open at 7:30am.
The place is clean and everything is properly arranged, from tables and chairs and table top utensils. The wait staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive. The kitchen tries it's best to get the orders out for each table, but there is a slow down as more patrons come in. Before we knew it all the tables were already occupied by 9am. They do have outside seating but the heat from summer makes everyone want to dine in the air conditioned cafe, save for the 2 foreigners who opted to enjoy their coffee al fresco.
They have freshly baked bread as early as 3am. I think I saw Sourdough, English Muffins, Croissants, and the Pan de Sal. I was surprised when I picked up a Pan de Sal to try it. It has some weight to it at a regular sized Pan de Sal. The crust was not hard and the bread was soft and moist. It was a literal "love at first bite" 😍 in fact, I had two more after my first inspite of having eaten half a muffin. 😅 I love good bread 😉
We shared the steak which was comparable to Mamou's and Wolfgang's at half the price. 👍👍 The hot chocolate is a little bitter but goes perfectly with their bread. I also loved their Duck Confit Arroz Caldo, their version of Chicken Arroz Caldo. The dish was perfectly balanced. Not too salty and you can taste every ingredient contributing to the symphony of flavors (whoa that was way too deep especially for me 🤣)
Overall, everything was good, from the service to the food so I'm not surprised why its regularly packed at most times of the day. I would definitely come back to try more of their dishes or to just chill. From the ease of parking (and it's free yey 🤣) and the different retail stores. It's already like a mini mall with free parking (yey 😅)
I liked the Spinach Cavatelli, not only did it taste good but it's definitely different from what you'd find elsewhere
The wild mushroom and asparagus was interesting... And I might try it again
Apero breakfast: while very very common, was pretty tasty!
On the other hand, I didn't really like the salads (to be fair, I'm not a healthy person), but I found the salads were mostly greens and barely had any taste! Not great value for money given the price
Slightly pricey but really good ingredients. Especially love the Truffled Pork and Smoke Roasted Chicken. The interiors and ambience are superb and staff are friendly too!
Excellent breakfast choices at Apero including many healthy choices.
I had a Black Cat Analog coffee which was full bodied with notes of sweetness and chocolate. My partner had iced Dirty Chai Latte - 'dirty' meaning with a shot of espresso- the espresso overwhelming any chai taste, in her opinion.
We started off with a Chia Pudding with granola and fresh fruit. Healthy and refreshing.
Next came Corned Beef Hash - sumptuous house cured corned beef chunks with crispy potato hash topped with a fried organic egg. Asparagus & Grana Padano Organic Eggs with fresh bread was healthy and tasty. This is baked in their firebrick.
I recommend the Corned beef hash and the eggs with grana padano cheese
Great place to have lunch or coffee around the White Plains area. Its conveniently located with ample parking and open air environment
Price is slightly on the pricey-side but you get quality ingredients
The Aircon is just a little warm during sunny days
Overall good experience
I’m on a quest to find the best chai Tea Latte and this is one of the good ones. ☕️ It’s a delicate mix of milk and spices with a little nudge of caffeine that is mellow and smooth, quite unlike the jolt of hard, black coffee (I use that for weekdays when I need to get busy). ❤️ it’s warm and pleasant— perfect for a chill Saturday such as this! 😊️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The place is gives you a homey feeling. With its surrounding and a great view of Libis and Rizal. Good for chilling and casual/friendly meet ups. Also a must for family lunch outs.
Place is very nice and comfortable, and service was good.
We had the duck fat pandesal with cultured butter and some coffee. The pandesal was tasty but didn't feel very fresh (maybe baked in the morning or yesterday), butter was good, but I wish you didn't have to pay extra for it. Coffee was delicious (forgot the name—it was off menu), but temperature wasn't optimal (wasn't hot enough).
A friend and I went here on Sunday in the afternoon, sort of a pre-early dinner time so the place was about 60-70% full.
Coffee:
Well made, smooth, no bitter notes. I requested for milk alongside my coffee and it was steamed as well, I appreciate that. Would come back for coffee. 5/5.
Tartines:
Wild Mushroom & Asparagus w/ side salad
Good flavors, great crust. My friend mentioned that there were too many toppings, causing her plate to overflow. Salad balances the creaminess of the tartine. 3.75/5.
Truffle Scramble w/ Fries
Too creamy, needs a touch of salt. Eggs were inconsistent, some parts were runny and other parts were a little on the hard side. Truffle cream tastes artificial; I'd rather pay more for authentic truffle. Overall, I think it would benefit from some smokiness or acidity since the egg, cream, cheese, and mushrooms taste one note. I think it would be solved with stronger / better quality truffle product. Sourdough was excellent. Fries are standard, can be improved if double cooked. 3/5.
Dessert:
Chocolate cloud mousse
Decent. Wasn't too rich and the chocolate crumble worked really well with the mousse and fruit. Good for one person or 2 light dessert eaters. 4/5.
Ambiance:
Well designed, slightly crowded, needs better ventilation due to kitchen smoke. 3/5.
Notes:
- Many desserts were unavailable on the menu
- bread display has no labels with names and prices
- wooden plates are too small for the tartines, causing the food to spill on the table
- Paper under the tartines are flimsy and soak up the oils from the bread, making the paper tear with the food. I got paper in my mouth.
- service was great and attentive.
A few great things (such as bread and coffee) will make me come back but there is much to be improved.
Few excuses are needed to visit Apero in Corinthian Hills, a small bistro-cafe with a punchy menu, homemade bread and brick-oven pizza, as well co-branded Intelligentsia coffee. There's grilled chicken, duck confit, sourdough bread, toast with homemade ricotta...reading this kind of menu makes me happy.
Tables are small and sometimes you have to wait to get a table, because it is a popular working space in the afternoons.
We ordered a grilled roasted vegetables salad with beetroot and squash (not listed on the current menu), a croque monsieur, and a croque madame. The croques came with salad on the side.
My only comment is about their grain-topped roasted veggies, which came in a small bowl normally reserved for soup. There were no greens, either. Did this not deserve a full plate of its own, with some mesclun?
Also, if you are sensitive to smoke, the smell of their charcoal grill tends to be strongest near their main entrance. We moved to a spot in the center, and this was no longer a problem.
So much more to try on the menu - the cocktails, the coffee, the pastries and bread to take home, the bucatini...
I find it rare to actually dine in a place where everything feels authentic and fresh, this is where apero got me. Their food is nothing short of fantastic, enjoyed the french bean, baked whole fish and the lamb. Everything was well-made and flavors were unapologetic. Got a great selection for their wines. Overall experience would be exceptional, would dine here as often as I could.
Also, please don't overlook their breads. If you know your breads, theirs are one of Manila's best.
The first thing that I can say about Apero is that the place is really relaxing. We chose to have meeting on Apero since both parties are relatively near the café. Since we are all new to the café we just asked the female waitress to serve their specialty. She then told us that she’ll be serving us five must try.
After a few discussions with our clients our first order arrived, few more minutes our orders were already complete. The food that really satisfied me beyond my expectation was the crunchy duck with salad (I already forgot the name hahaha). The taste was balanced, not too salty, and it was very tasty. The chicken rice was also my favorite as it was bursting with flavors that really tickled my inner fat kid inside (Pun intended). I was able to try something different but it’s definitely worth it! And they also have a wide variety of wines! A total five star! Keep it up Apero!
I had a tiring week and I really need some alone time with my book. Then I remembered that a friend of mine recommended this place called Apero. She’s a frequent customer of the café, so why not, right? I went there last Saturday. When I arrived at the cafe there are few people inside minding their own businesses, PERFECT!
The waitress approached me as soon as I entered the establishment. I ordered the Apero Big Breakfast and brewed coffee. I only waited for a few minutes before my order arrived.
My meal was freshly cooked and it’s really tasty! The highlight of my meal is the muffin. I’m not a muffin person, but their muffin made me love muffin. I learned from their staff that all their pastries are freshly baked every day from 2 am! Just wow! No wonder it tastes really good. So I ordered two more! Hahaha. And their coffee is really good ,especially the aroma!
To sum up everything, I had a great time and experience at Apero. It made my Saturday afternoon! I will definitely go back for the food and to take pictures. I wasn’t able to take even one because I was so consumed with my book. But I’ll be back!!
After dinner, I went to Corinthian Hills for dessert and try Apero Neighborhood Cafe.
Apero means food eaten late afternoon. They offer dishes made from scratch.
The lady who approached me when I've visited Apero recommend the Dark Chocolate Clouds for Php190.00. It's made of Malagos Dark Chocolate Mousse topped with Cacao Almond Praline.
Dark Chocolate Clouds - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"The dark chocolate mousse was made from scratch. I've waited several minutes for this dessert and it's worth it. "Masarap!" The strawberry chunks gives more flavor enhancement of the dark chocolate mousse and I like the mild sweetness of Almond Praline on top of it. And it's pretty amazing that they used chocolates made in the Philippines."

I met a close friend over the weekend to catch up on life. A lot has happened in the past few months for both of us. Since she had the busier schedule, she could only do breakfast on a Saturday. Along Temple Drive, Apero (“apertif” in French) was close to where we both live, making it a convenient choice. While it was a breakfast and bakery in the morning, it doubled as a wine-and-dine in the evening. Relatively new place worth the try.
I'm told this place has been getting a bad rap online. I can imagine why: the staff is inadequately trained. The young waitress attending to our table couldn't field a question, and had to ask the older staffers for answers. In any case, I had one item on the menu - a mushroom and asparagus combo, with a poached egg, a caperberry (which turned out to be a big caper, flavor-wise), shavings of grana padano (fancy Parmesan cheese) on a slice of crusty sourdough bread. I had that with a side salad. A healthy meal, especially by my standards, but not wanting in flavor. Will be back to try something else, although even just another slice of that sourdough would be worth the trip.
Apero is short for Aperitif, which are drinks served before meals. Aside from their abudant selection of cocktails, the place is a good place to work in- the environment is pleasant, the servers are accomodating, and their brewed coffee was good and bitter. Their food was relatively pricy and to be honest, you can find better pastries elsewhere- their Canele and Brownie were crumbly and the flavor wasn't all there. In short, it was mildly disappointing and not worth it. I also had their fries which were fresh and hot and good for 70 pesos.
Love that there's a place like this in the area, NOT INSIDE A MALL. Heaps of safe parking c/o clubhouse. Bread tastes real good but wasn't able to try the coffee. Service is pretty alright, no judgments for a beer at 4 hahaha. Never written a zomato review. Just did cause this place is da shiz.
Liked the whole ambiance and mood of Apero. Very laid back Palm beach feel. They serve breakfast/ brunch place that is simple, good and decently priced. They bake their breads and pastries fresh daily and offer variety of breakfast foods. If you are not feeling the am dishes they have a small offering for lunch/dinner. I wish they could open longer. It would be nice to hang out in the bar late night. Also, service can be improved. Most of the servers are inattentive.
I had the waffle with bacon, caramelized onions, and a poached egg. First look I was overwhelmed at the portion size and everything looked so good! But then I saw 1 hair near my bacon. I took it out and decided to ignore it. But then there was another piece of hair and now intertwined with my bacon! Had to complain. When I did, they took my plate but then I saw in the open kitchen that they didn't replace my food! I would've been ok with just newly fried bacon but all they did was take out the hair! Not wanting to make a scene, I just got back my plate, said thank you, and ate in peace 😞 1 out of 5
My boyfriend had the egg in a hole with bacon. No hairs on his plate 😂 He enjoyed his meal. 3 out of 5.
What saved the day was the cup of brewed coffee. 4 out of 5 😊
EDIT: After going back a few more times, I must change my rating from 3 to 4 stars. The food has improved and the staff is very friendly. The Apero Big Breakfast has become my go-to dish here.
