We availed of an eatigo promo here for a late lunch, and it was well worth it. We had a couple of things, the tomato soup, the spicy portobello spaghetti, chicken parm, and the beef bourguignon. The tomato soup was nice, it was quite thick and you'd ideally want a larger serving, but the flavor was on point. My favorite would have to be the chicken parm, there's nothing revolutionary about this, it's just chicken parm done well. The meat was moist, the tomato sauce and cheese just how you like it, and I quite like their rice pilaf. Their beef bourguignon is okay, definitely a very notable wine flavor. The pasta is good, albeit a bit heavy.
This place is a bit pricey, but it does have good food.
Super good food and quite cheap!! Almost all cocktails were under 200. WOW!
It has been a while that we haven't gone out as a couple and been looking for a place to dine and thanks to zomato found this place near our place. I highly recommend this resto. Love their roasted pork belly ❤️
The only thing I didn't like is the lack of parking space. But everything, from the service to the timeliness of food arriving is amazing. We had such a great time there. The chicken parmigiana was heavenly. It was not too overwhelming. It was not too oily. The slow roasted pork belly in potato was also a surprise to have. It was very flavorful and soft and juicy. Visit this place and don't skip on their Japanese fries (fries with bonito flakes, jap mayo and all the good cheesy stuff) also, warm your heart with their pumpkin soup.
The beef bourguignon had very soft beef. Flavors were simple but well balanced and not overpowering. The roasted pork belly was also soft, and when soaked with the sauce tasted even more complex. Serving sizes were well portioned -- not too big that I and my friend couldn't finish it or not too small that we were still hungry after.
Overall, food quality is 5 stars; however, at the time we went, their only available drinks were soft drinks. Would have been nice to have other options for drinks. Otherwise, very good food.
I spent my brithday here last night. I booked through Zomato, and I received a quick confirmation from the restaurant. The olace is really nice and cozy, a perfect haven for good conversation. It has that fine dining yet homey kind of vibe. The food is really really amazing. I ordered the Spicy Portobello Spagehetti. It was creamy and really tasty and the serving size fits the prize. We also tried the Okonomiyaki Fries, which was a really delicious appetizer. Both their cocktails and mocktails are awesome too. I tried the Dark Mojito and the Signature Eighteen and enjoyed both. My best friends tried the mocktails. I took a sip from both and they are both refreshing. 💕
Celebrated my birthday here last night and it was awesome! The place is small & very intimate. Perfect for date night or small group of friends date too! Thank you too kay Kuya for being so accommodating, he is so nice. He even downloaded “happy birthday” song (according to my friends who surprised me)! will definitely come back here :)
Lastly, We love the 18 peso cocktail during happy hour! ;)
Wow.. felt the love of the chef for cooking! Seasoning was perfect. Beef was so tender, it just melts on your mouth. Loved the Potato Gratin! Sarap din ng Chicken Parmigiana, perfectly cooked with the Pilaf! The chocolate cake hits right the spot!! Kuyang server was very patient, handled customers’ requests well even if siya lang mag-isa. Overall, great resto and will go back again😊

Next time sana available na yung spaghetti bolognese 😊
Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience here. 😊
Very intimate and cozy ambiance! Had a great time with friends. Love their food too! All worth it for the price.
Ordered Chicken Parmigiana (this one’s good for 2, big serving of chicken), Drunken Prawn pasta, baked prawn casserole (yum), spicy portobello pasta (better than the drunken prawn), beef bourguignon (meat is sooo soft plus the potato terine is also nice) and coq au vin also my type!
Went on a dinner with some friends on a friday night. Though was the place was bit small we actually liked it. Perfect place for friends to hang out. The food was great, we really liked it. This is the only decent photo I have from that night.
My friend invited me over for her birthday dinner. Cozy place for get togethers.
We ordered tomato soup and okonomiyaki fries for our appetizer. Tomato soup was a bit watery for me. The fries were sooooo good! We had tomato and chicken risotto. This was just too sour for my taste. The chicken parmigiana and beef bourguignon were tasty. The beef, in particular, was so tender, it flakes off with your fork. Best part of our meal was the warm chocolate cake. One of the best chocolate cakes I have had!
The downside to this place would be parking. Best to come over with a driver or riding grab.
Would definitey be back!
A perfect place for intimate celebrations.
There is very limited space and parking is difficult.
Better if you make reservations.
We tried the spicy portobello spaghetti, beef bourguignon, roasted pork belly and deep fried ice cream. If you are a coffee enthusiast, try their snowspresso! They also have good wine!
Charming little nook in the heart of Tomas Morato. Ordered a glass of chardonnay. It was a pleasant surprise for it to have been served in a small pitcher, which was equivalent to 3 servings/3 glasses! For P240, this was quite a bargain!
The Coq Au Vin I ordered for the main course was delicious, but not authentic. Pwede na. There were two whole garlics on the sauce too, which I almost ate whole. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The garlics were soft and tender, so I mashed it up and mixed it into the mushroom rice pilaf. It made the rice so much more fragrant and flavorful!
The restaurant is small. Limited seating inside. It can seat comfortably up to 20 people. No where to park either. I parked right up front because I was the only customer during that time. They convert the place where I parked into an al fresco area at night. Since I was there for lunch, the space was vacant. If parking wasn’t an issue, I would have visited this place a long time ago.
Overall though, it was a good meal paired with great value wine! I will return to try their famous beef bourginon next time.
We ordered 3 out of their 4 mains - chicken parm, beef and pork.
Chicken parm was good
The tartine in both beef and pork were soooo goooood
The beef and pork were okay, I think there is still a strong alcohol flavor that might not be to everyone's liking.
We also ordered the pumpkin soup - yum too!
The ambiance is cozy. Nice place for a date for fancy night out with the girls.
Serving time is pretty long though. But quality makes up for it.

Along Scout Rallos in the Tomas Morato area in Quezon City is a small restaurant called Eighteen Bistro. “Hole-in-the-wall” restaurants may characterized by cramped spaces and dinginess but this joint is anything but. Eighteen Bistro is known as an after-office hangout (with Php18 cocktails!) but I went there with friends for lunch. Its elegant modern interiors and food offerings are seemingly inspired by continental European haunts and cuisines.
One of our favorite places in the area. Our favorites include the Tomato Cream Soup (the balsamic glaze is a nice touch), Lemon Parmesan Salad, Spicy Portobello Spaghetti (can't be beat!). They also have a promo everyday from 6pm to 9pm (if I remember correctly): order a small plate or entrée and get a crafted cocktail (two choices, different daily) for only 18 pesos each!
Place is small and cozy with a very limited seating capacity. Parking may also be a problem (they only have two slots).
Edit: serving size has gotten smaller for main dishes since last time.
Cozy ambience, albeit a little cramped up.
Food was delicious, but the tomato cream soup and chicken parmigiana were a little bit on the sweet side.
The fried ice cream was great.
It's a small place but I think that adds to the ambient charm. It's a great place to catch up with friends and have a chat over meals that could rival any luxury hotel at more than half the price, and their good selection of wine. I've been here 3 times already and there's always a good reason to visit again. The staff are very friendly and professional. I happen to meet the owner in one of my visits and his attitude reflects what this bistro is all about, uncompromising with quality yet very humble, sophisticated but unassuming.
Enjoyed the food! Really like that they kept the menu simple and the food delicious! Just missed perfect because some items on the menu are not available :( but overall, Experience was great! You could expect us again!
Ordered:
Tomato Cream Soup
Pumpkin Soup
Portobello Mushroon Dip
Chicken Parmigiana
Coq Au Vin
Beef Bourguignon
Gin Peace? Was not in the menu but heck, a drink for Eighteen pesos?! Sweet!
I frequently pass by Scout Rallos and see Eighteen Bistro when I dine in one of the restaurants at the F7 building. Last Labor Day me and my friend decided to try the food here and we were really impressed. First we ordered the Okonomiyaki Fries which mixes your regular fries with Japanese elements like the wasabi mayo, sweet soy glaze, onsen tamago, bonito flakes, and nori strips. I’m already accustomed with eating my fries with mayo but having it with the wasabi mayo was really a new experience. I really enjoyed this dish. If you’re up for something different order this!

Been here with my girlfriend. The food is great. The ambiance is great. If you want a place to be with someone just to talk to over dinner, with a good selection of wine, consider Eighteen Bistro. Just one negative point is that the place is small. But overall, thumbs up!
Ordered pastas and entrees to get 18pesos cocktails. Their recommended dish, the slow roasted pork belly, was really tender and flavorful. Not a big fan of sweet tomato pasta so the pasta margherita was a bit of a let down. Place was quiet and servers were very accomodating tho.
We had lunch here on a Saturday. We were the only ones there. The server was very accommodating. He made sure we had everything we needed. I like the place because it is good for intimate gatherings. We ordered okonomiyaki fries, warm chocolate cake, and shrimp casserole. The food is good for the price. We order other dishes but I forgot to take pictures.
Small space, dim lights and chill kind of music are the things you’ll expect at Eighteen Bistro. This was our final stop to last Saturday’s #TomasMoratoFoodCrawl . Their 18 peso-promo seems to be the perfect place for our night cap.
Too good to be true though!😅
We were about to order...
Quality and taste rivals fine dining experience at half the cost. We loved almost all the stuff we ordered except for the roast belly which is not as tender as i would have preferred. Don't get me wrong, it taste great, just hoping the meat was more tender. Must order are the Portobello Mushroom Dip, Spicy Portobello Mushroom Pasta! It's a good resto for quiet dinner or dinner with friends.
Its a small place but with a classy ambience. We ordered the pumpkin soup, chicken parmigiana, beef bourguinon. The pumpkin spice had a smoked taste and thick consistency which I really liked in a pumpkin soup. Chicken parmigianna was the usual. The best of the three was beef bourginon, the meat was tender and savory and you can taste the hint of wine. The potato terrine was also a delight. Its thinly sliced potatos put on top of each other to create like a crepe cake look. For the drink, I tried the kack daniel's lemonade. It was a good night cap drink but it lacked the jack daniel's sweet rum taste to it and it was overpowered by the lemon juice. However, its a bit pricey for a small place but will try the other dishes again.
It was a privilege to have tried Eighteen Bistro's family recipes. Their mains were done in conjunction with perfection! And so as their desserts that will really just make you say WOW! I wouldn't be rating them 5/5 stars if they do not deserve it. 😋🍴
Loved this place! Ambiance is great, food is great (everything we ordered was good), service was also good, and they have parking for 1 car (better than nothing).
I loved the pumpkin soup - very rich and comforting. The pasta Margherita was perfectly cooked, simple but just delicious. Last, the roast pork belly was tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned and the portion was just right. The potato gratin that accompanied the pork belly was the perfect partner.
I hope they decide to open a little earlier - like 11am instead of 12 nn, just because sometimes one finds oneself hungry earlier than usual. 😀
I highly recommend this. I can't wait to try out the other items in their menu!
We went here at around 10PM for some drinks. I ordered Chardonnay, and the service was good. The ambience is perfect for young professionals, and it was too cozy to the extent that conversations here are audible! Highly recommended for small meetings over wine and drinks.
We were in Tomas Morato weeks ago and one recommended stop for some cocktails was Eighteen Bistro. We went here for their 18Php Cocktails from 6PM. to 9PM. We were ready to get drunk when they told us that each person who will. avail the promo would need to avail of at least one main dish. This caught us
I had no idea that Friday traffic would be this crazy. I had to rush from Greenhills to Tomas Morato before 6 p.m. but I failed. Hence, I had to go back to Tomas Morato the following day to complete my task. And I’m not complaining from working on weekends when I get rewarded with food. After all, Tomas Morato is a foodie destination and I found out that three restaurants on my must visit list are just a couple of blocks away. And for stop #1, R and I went to Eighteen Bistro.
Hello, Eighteen Bistro!
I have been eying this restaurant ever since I saw a post or two of its PHP18 cocktails on Facebook. I’m not an alcoholic. I just love scoring great deals!
We got to the place around 5:45 p.m. and the place was empty. We ordered Tomato Cream Soup (PHP180), Beef Bourguignon (PHP350) and Spicy Portobello and Cream Cheese (PHP310). We also wanted to avail of the PHP18 cocktails but the bistro was quite strict with the deal and we could only order when the clock strike 6:00. And so we waited.
The tomato soup, despite its description of being a slow cooked stew, was served fast!
It was served piping hot but it had a stench that R negatively reacted to. The server said that it must be the balsamic vinegar. But R felt that it was something else, like a poorly dried dishwashing towel or something. Despite the smell, the soup was delightful.
It had a thick texture and I loved the sweet yet tangy taste of it. It was like slurping spaghetti sauce with a borderline Filipino and Italian blend. The toasted baguette with cheese was a nice touch.
The slow braised beef in red wine with potato terrine on the side was also good. The meat was succulent. There were some fatty parts though which health conscious would not dare eat. But R and I aren’t calorie or cholesterol conscious and so we ate everything.
The spicy Portobello mushroom pasta was a bit on the bland side. It wasn’t spicy at all and I think it was because of the lack of sauce or cayenne pepper. The spaghetti though was cooked well. Ask for parmesan cheese for more taste.
Around 6:00 p.m., we asked the server which drinks are included in the promo and the server mentioned three drinks. We went with Amaretto Sour and Jim Fizz.
The drinks were served right away.
I didn’t like the Amaretto Sour as it had this cherry taste (and I hate cherries). I liked the Jim Fizz better as it had a lighter taste. But it tasted more like soda than cocktails. It lack the alcohol kick that Amaretto Sour had.
Overall, it was a good dinner. The food was delightful. But I’ll skip the drinks next time.
Oooooh! I really enjoyed this place!❤️
I suggested this restaurant for a long overdue get-together with friends a few weeks back! Can I just say it was a great choice?
Good thing my friends got there early because I was late!😅 They were already enjoying the spicy portobello and cream cheese dip with bread when I arrived. The place was very small with only four tables, but it had a nice ambience.
Four of us decided to go ahead and order while waiting for our fifth companion... I insisted on the okonomiyaki fries because I was famished and apparently not afraid of carbs!😅 I ordered the spicy portobello and cream cheese pasta... My friends got the margherita pasta, the beef bourguignon, and another dish that I kept trying to remember but I think I got a bit tipsy that I just couldn't!😂
Plus everyone took advantage of the P18 cocktails for Happy Hour(s)!!!😍 Yey!!! Let out your inner alcoholic!!!😁 So, just to be clear, they don't have the promo just on the 18th of each month. They have it daily but with different featured drinks-- 3 per night and this rotates depending on the day! I went for the Heartbreaker, channeling Mariah as I ordered... It has a rhum base, grenadine and it was delish!!! And as expected, taksil sya! Loved it!❤️ My friends tried the Electric Lemonade, but I think everyone liked the Heartbreaker much more... As evidenced by the second (and third) round...
While enjoying our cheap and super delicious cocktails, the okonomiyaki fries was served... Really good pairing and a generous serving... This appetizer is on the expensive side, but it really tasted like a decpnstructed okonomiyaki... L-O-V-E!👍
Our entrées came and everything was excellent! I loved the pasta form of the spicy portobello and cream cheese sauce... Pasta was perfectly cooked and the serving was very generous... The hint of cayenne pepper kept it from being too one dimensional... This was good, for real... I did not really enjoy the margherita because I found it a little too sour for my taste. But the pasta was again al dente, they keep hitting the correct note with that one... I don't know why they call it small plates, because the servings were more than enough for one person! Appreciated that!😊
The bourguignon was TDF, super soft and no need for a knife... Served with a beautiful potato terrine, slightly bland by itself but the perfect accompaniment to the rich sauce of the beef... The dish that shall not be named (because I forgot) was gorgeous! Mushroom rice pilaf and perfectly arranged chicken on the side, this was scrumptious... We were not able to finish most of the dishes, probably because we ordered so much... Take note-- two orders of the pasta margherita with the rest of the orders... It was a carbohydrate feast... And what a feast it was!💜
While we were there, we experienced a power outage... So we had fun dining in semi-darkness... The staff brought out their emergency lights and fan (pre-charged) so it wasn't too stuffy inside... The servers were pretty nice and super helpful too!😃
Just be warned that the space is tiny... We were smushed in one corner and I was already seated underneath the staircase... Plus they only have two parking spaces in front. I was just lucky to nab one right away. So come early! For the Happy Hour and the parking! But do visit, it's worth it!👍

There are a lot of nice restaurants to go visit in Scout Rallos area. and I would say, Eighteen Bistro should be part of your list. For appetizer, you may enjoy their squash soup served with bread. . I love that they always they serve awesome food with a twist. Take this Chicken parmigiana topped with cheese and brown rice. Isn’t this something?
The fries here are so good! I forgot the exact name but I've only tried this here. It's also good for sharing. We also ordered amaretto sour which we got second servings of. Chicken parm is the best for me since I rarely eat pork. Having tried a bite of their melt in your mouth pork belly...it was heaven! I forgot to take photos since we had so much fun sipping our cocktails and we hardly finished our food cos it was so heavy and worth it! Value for money is great! Love it and i would go back again!
Always a pleasure dining here! Their mushroom risotto and portobello pasta are must tries! If you like to start meals with a salad, their parmesan lemon salad is great. For the mains, the beef borguignon and rosted pork belly are must tries! the warm chocolate cake will probably be the best chocolate cake you'll have. do not forget to ask them about their P18 cocktails!

Price - expensive but worth it
Place -limited number of seats. They only have i think 10 tables that is good for two each. Feels like a semi private resto
Service - very good staff they have. I like how they speak calmy. And they always attend to your needs.
Food - one word: SUPERDELICIOUS haha. I really love all their food. From soup to salad to main course and dessert.

EIGHTEEN! Eighteen Bistro is a small gem located along Sct. Rallos worth going around in circles for near Tomas Morato. With it’s classy interior, breathtaking food and, 18 peso cocktails, this is one of the restaurants to cross out in your To-Eat!
We have tried three of their dishes, namely: the Portobello, Roasted Pork Belly and the Chicken Parmigiana.
Being the bestseller, the Spicy Portobello & Cream Cheese truly stood out. The cream sauce was balanced and evenly thick. No pasta was unturned in which lacked sauce. The pasta was evenly coated and spiced to enhance the aroma and flavour of the pasta. A bit heavy on the stomach but we guarantee that each bite will keep your fork getting another round in your mouth.
While roasted pork belly... was just divine. The perfect crisp of the pig skin complemented with the tenderness of the meat and the melt-in-your-mouth fat would surely get your taste buds hooked. But it doesn't stop there. The pork was accompanied by thinly sliced potatoes under it that absorbed the sauce to get a full ride of the sensations created by this dish. No doubt this was definitely one of our guilty pleasures for the night.
Last but not the least is the Chicken Parmigiana. A chicken breast draped with tomato sauce and oozing mozzarella, it looked incredible as it tastes. The sauce blended well and did not overwhelm the chicken. The rice was a good add-on to the overall dish as it fitted well with the taste of the chicken.
With their generous servings, delicious food, 18 peso Cocktails?!, what are you waiting for?

Love the food here. Their spicy portobello & cream cheese is a must-try. So good! Service is superb, too.
Place isn't too big though. I hope they expand in the future.
The little delicious bistro that could! The food was great. I had the slow roasted pork with moscato; the pork was beautifully cooked and the moscato was just the right complement - never overpowering. The chicken parmigiana was really good too - the chicken cooked perfectly! The salad was great too --- not overdressed, fresh and flavorful. Maybe you guys can have seafood on the menu next time.
it’s a small place along sct. rallos. i was there early for lunch, a little past noon and had the whole 1st floor to myself :) inside was nice and cozy.
it didnt take long for my food to be ready. the pumpkin soup was very tasty. the chicken parmigiana was delicious! the chicken was so tender, it came with rice with mushrooms. the serving was huge that i couldn’t finish my deep fried ice cream, not because it was bad but because i was full. being a big fat guy who enjoys eating, that doesn’t happen very often...i would love to come back and try the other dishes.
If you want to hang out at an unassuming place, you'll enjoy Eighteen. It's small and very intimate. But the food is not small at all. Both in taste and size. Head early so you can avail the 18-peso cocktail hour. I personally enjoyed Hugo.
Ever since Hunger Buster opened in University Mall, along Taft Avenue, I barely eat dinner with my family nor see them even. On weekends, we would be manning the stall at Mercato. In short, my life revolved on burgers and the crazy traffic here in Manila.
There are nights when I’d feel bad not being able to spend as much time with them like before especially on a Saturday night. So, even though I’m the one in charge of manning the booth, I try to squeeze in family time even if it means driving from Fort to Quezon City.
My mom originally wanted to try 49-B Heirloom Kitchen but since the restaurant’s closed, we decided to eat at Eighteen Bistro, a hole-in-the-wall eatery, instead. The place was on soft-opening when we went there and it was pretty much small, you might not see it if you don’t look carefully.
Though I arrived there WAY ahead of them, I wasn’t able to take pictures of the place. Sorry! The restaurant has two floors though I wasn’t able to go up since our table’s on the ground floor. It felt a bit cramped as I could hardly move or else I might break anything.
Tomato Cream (P180)
I originally chose Pumpkin Soup but since it wasn’t available, I opted for this instead and I’m glad I did. It was subtle, refreshing and had a hint of sweetness. Please add more cheese on that baguette though! :)
Beef Bourgignon (P320)
Slow-braised in red wine for hours, this decent looking dish was indeed tender and flavorful as expected!
Chicken Parmigiana (P290)
This baked fillet of chicken in tomato stew, topped with mozzarella, on a bed of mushroom rice pilaf may look like a simple dish that can easily be served at home but what makes it good is the tenderness of the chicken and the hearty amount of white meat. Finish everything and you’ll know how satisfying it can be.
Roasted Pork Belly (P320)
This pork belly with few layers of fat, served with potato terrine just like the dish above, was one of the highlights that night. The skin is crispy but easy to bite and the meat is solid but tender. A pleasant, appetizing dish, I must say!
Bolognese (P280)
A must for dad, of course. Cooked with rich classic sauce of minced beef in red wine topped with some shaved Parmigiana Regiano, this dish was light, not overpowering, but scrumptious.
Mushroom Risotto (P310)
Slow-cooked in a broth and added with Portobello mushrooms resulted to a creamy, earthy, unpretentious mushroom risotto that will surely satisfy your palate.
Spicy Portobello & Cream Cheese (P285)
A unique twist to mushroom pasta is Eighteen Bistro’s version with Cayenne Pepper cream cheese --- a must for people who loves spicy dishes! My mom lived it! :)
Though we ordered a lot of dishes (which is not surprising), we still had room for some dessert (which is not surprising again)! Hihi :P there were only three dessert dishes to choose from though I was really torn which one to order. As a result, my mom decided that we order all three! No judging please! Lol
Warm Chocolate Cake (P190)
According to JP, who is one of the owners, this particular cake is made by his girlfriend and is a family’s favorite. No wonder… It was incredibly good! My family loved it so much that this was gone even before the second dish arrived!
Deep Fried Ice Cream (P190)
Now, because of THAT dessert, everything went downhill (yes, it was that good). Don’t get me wrong, this fried ice cream was good but it was too simple. Since both are priced the same, I’d rather have the cake than this.
Salted Caramel Popcorn Fudge (P320)
I don’t like anything that has caramel so I’m not the best person to ask if this dish was good. My mom is and she liked it especially the salted caramel ice cream. Too sweet for my palate.
And with that, we left Eighteen Bistro happy and satisfied after our wholesome meal. I would recommend the Tomato Cream, Mushroom Risotto, Beef Bourguignon, Chicken Parmigiana and the Warm Chocolate Cake. I can’t wait to be back and get my hands on that cake again! :)
Eighteen Bistro is a small restaurant situated in Sct. Rallos beside Mrs. Graham's Macaron Cafe. We enjoyed our dinner at Eighteen Bistro.
I ordered the Pumpkin Soup which was okay but there was a distinct taste which I could not describe.
We ordered also the Pasta Margherita, Bolognese, Mushroom Risotto and the Spicy Portobello & Cream Cheese Pasta. Out of the four the Spicy Portobello & Cream Cheese tasted the best, the mushroom flavor was very evident. The Mushroom Risotto also tasted good. The Bolognese and Margherita Pasta were okay but the tomato sauce tasted sweet.
We then ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and the Beef Bourguignon. The best part about the Chicken Parmigiana is the Mushroom Rice Pilaf which it came with. Although again, the tomato sauce was sweet. I did not like the Beef Bourguignon that much because I think the alcohol in the wine has not fully evaporated so it tasted sour. What we liked about both the dishes is that they had big portions.
The place was a bit small, has few parking space and has only one waiter but the service was great. All-in-all the price was worth the service and food.
I love the cocktails, especially when it's only P18.
I'd recommend getting the spicy portobello and cream cheese pasta paired with Sauvignon Blanc, but best to share it with someone as you can't finish the whole plate on your own. Chicken Parmigiana is good too. You can split this with two more people
Another spot.ph influence plus thats impulsive surge brought about by the 13th month pay. In between two of my favorite eating places at Scout Rallos (NOT Tomas Morato), Kanin Club and Mrs. Graham's macarons, it's funny that I never noticed this place until today.
The place was very small, mainly housing 4 sets of tables for 4. We thought that the place might look better at night but since it's high noon there's nothing really special aesthetically.
Our food:
Mango Rumble (drink) - tastes like the mago smoothie of Red Mango.
Sophie's Drink (strawberry smoothie) - it's ok but nothing really special.
Spicy Portobello and Cream Cheese Pasta - something a little special here. The taste was very unique, although I found it to be a little dry, my girlfriend loved it so much. I'd say this one's above average for me.
Beef Bourguignon - the beef was cooked perfectly! Although the first thing I tasted was red wine and personally I think it was a bit strong and the alcohol could've been burnt a little more. The potato terrine on this dish was a little off for me, I felt like something else was in my mouth, something too gross to mention in a food review site. The taste was ok, it was the texture that is just isn't right for me.
Warm Chocolate Cake - not too sweet, very soft and delicious... Nuff said.
Snowspresso - a unique desert that's just mind blowing. Vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso (Nespresso) and the glass surrounded by a cloud of cotton candy. The espresso shot should be poured on top going through the cotton candy into the bowl of ice cream. With the cloud of cotton candy covering almost the whole thing, things can get a little messy. The combination of the espresso, ice cream, and cotton candy though is to die for!
Total bill: 1,450+
Overall, I'd say it's fairly above average. Will I go back? Yes, for that pork belly but perhaps on my next bonus.
If you are looking to have an intimate dining experience, this is the place to be. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere and they are very accomodating. Their spicy portobello and cream cheese pasta are my favorites. I also like their warm chocolate cake. Added bonus would be their P18 cocktails. Would...
Chicken Parmigiana is recommended. I aslo like their Beef Bourguignon - perfect for those who would want to have wine. The place is so nice to chill out.
We ordered the beef bourguignon and the fried spada. The portions are big so you can share. I recommend the beef bourguignon. The sauce was very nice and the potato slices were a nice touch. The only flaw was that a couple of beef pieces were on the tough side. (must be because of the general quality of local beef). The spada fish was just so-so.
Make sure to get the spicy portobello pasta!
The food and serving was fantastic and worth every penny. Try their spicy portobello and cream cheese, beef bourguignon and roasted pork belly! :)
The place is quaint and can seat about 20 to 25 people inside. A few more tables are outside for those who wish to breathe in their magic dust.
For a bunch of gals, we were starved. The small plates are for big appetites! And since it wasn't mentioned, I had ordered two of them and an entree!
👍🏽 the pasta margherita is my favorite dish in this restaurant. Again, i ask myself, was i that hungry that this tasted exquisite? i also answer myself, NO! The pasta is cooked al dente, the sauce evenly spread and not maasim as far as marinaras go. The mozzarella makes such an impact on this dish that i could keep on re-ordering this dish in the same night. P265
👉🏽 i expected small plates to be small so i ordered the mushroom risotto as well. The mushroom was indeed the star of this dish because it was flavorful! Splendid! Splendid! I was getting full already despite me sharing the two dishes with the girls. P310
👍🏽 if the small plates were filling, the entrees are also generous. Hannah and i each ordered the Roasted Pork belly. Man, we should've shared this instead! Take a look at that meaty goodness placed on two towers of sliced potatoes. P320
👉🏽 the ladies also ordered the chicken parmigiana and the spicy portobello and cream cheese. I happen to taste the spicy portobello and it rocked! It was like getting kicked in the tongue with a surprise! Their pasta dishes are such a win for me!
👍🏽💪🏽 Now, talking about their food is one thing but discussing their drinks is another. Co-owner and master of the bar, JP Magpayo, surely knows what he's doing. The eighteen peso cocktails are more than worth it. You should be ashamed that you're only paying P18 because it is smooth and refreshing. I had the Amaretto sour. How it works is that if you order a small plate, you can get select cocktails for P18 only. This is not a bad deal at all! What's even better is if you come on an 18 date because their cocktails are only P18 without needing a qualifier of a small plate. But why would you want to skip the small plates? They are divine!!!
👍🏽❤️❤️❤️ we all know that a bunch of women will need desserts. Bah! There is no skipping of calories when we are together. It's a myth. So dessert expert, Marj Mendoza, knows her stuff when she served us the deep fried ice cream and warm chocolate cake. Simple, right? Easy on the ears and eyes. But these desserts are anything but simple. They are indulgent! I kid you not! That chocolate cake was a dream! I would want an order all to myself. I think you can order a whole cake but one order is enough for me! I want to take this baby home and call her mine!!
Everything is a best-seller here. If you look at the entrées, you might think that it's limited due to one kind of meat per dish. But they have their best-sellers laid out in front of you. All you have to do is select food to your liking. The food here is top-notch. I say it because it is! I feel that it is prepared and cooked with love. I also heard some good news about Marj and Jp. All i can say is, Congratulations! You owe me a story!
Very nice place to catch up, chill and unwind after a long day at work. The barista in particular, which i think owns the place too, is very accomodating! The food is superb! We were told that everything's made from scratch. They serve the best chicken parmigiana which goes well with their Sangria! Plus points if you catch their happy hour promo from 6-9pm cause you'll get to drink their cocktail of the day for only 18php! 😊
Location: Easy to find on a street that already has lots of interesting places to eat
Ambiance: It's a small intimate place but very dark in the afternoon. Kitchen is on the 2nd floor. Nice wall art.
Service: Server was around but not unobtrusive. Owner (?) was also there and let us know about their promotion for 18 peso cocktails on the 18th.
Food
1. Mushroom Risotto
Good balance of flavor but risotto could have been slightly more toothsome. We loved the sautéed portobello mushrooms on top and wished there was more. Good serving size for price
2. Slow Cooked Pork Belly
As a concept this dish has a lot of potential. The plating is beautiful, and the muscato jus compliments the pork very well. The potato terrine was cooked just fork tender, with a ring of crisp caramelized potato on the underside. However the pork was quite tough, which ended up ruining what is a very simple but elegant dish. I hope that this is just an off day.
3. Chicken Parmigiana
We got this on the recommendation of the server. I can understand why it's the best seller, baked breaded chicken breast with tomato and cheese on a mushroom rice pilaf. Executed very well but not as interesting as other dishes on the menu.
Final thoughts
Since it's fairly new, it's still understandable that there are a few kinks that have to be worked out food wise. There are some stars, such as the potato terrine and mushroom pilaf. However it is good food at a reasonable price point. I hope to return in a few months to see what improvements they have made and revise my rating.
Tip: Order mushroom rice pilaf with the mains. Go on the 18th for 18 peso cocktails.
