Shawarma Bros is also a part of our UPTC Food Crawl.
They served us their Beef Shawarma Rice Plate, Beef pocket wrap and chicken pocket wrap.
Food was good, reasonably priced, very flavorful and filling too.
Yesterday we visited Shawarma Bros for the first time in UP Town Center. I like how spacious it is and the youthful vibe of their interiors. Their wall is decorated with printed Instagram posts of their customers featuring the place and their food.
So it's a self service type where you have to order in their counter hence it's pay as you order and they will be serving the food once ready. They also have their sauces and cutlery beside the counter. I'm not really a fan of using plastic so I wish they just provided each table with sauces instead, so that they won't have to use plastic caps for the sauce. Save mother earth! ✌️
We ordered Beef Shawarma Rice Plate, Jumbo Beef Shawarma Wrap, Pita and Hummus, and their BroYo Shake.
Their beef shawarma plate was good. I love their yellow rice although it didn't taste so different than plain rice. They have an ample portion of beef and tomatoes on the plate. I think it's a bit overpriced for its serving size though.
I didn't like their sauces that much. We had to go back to the refilling station three times because their mayo wasn't tasty and it was too watery. I'm not actually sure if it's mayo or yogurt because of its consistency. Haha. Their cheese and hot sauce were okay, nothing special but tastes good when poured over the beef.
Their pita bread is crunchy, but you have to eat it immediately as it's not that yummy when cold.
What I liked among the food we ordered is the BroYo shake! It's thick and tasty! Not too icy, not too watery. You can really taste the yogurt. And it only costs 80pesos! 👌 I wanted to try their lamb plate sadly it's not available.
The Chicken Shawarma was very filling and tasty, expecially when the sauces were added. I liked the spicy sauce a lot because it balanced the flavor of the shawarma. It's a must for all shawarma lovers!
I came here during their off-peak, around 3:30 in the afternoon. There was only one customer before me, and another one who arrived when I was nearly done. Service was quick then.
The food tasted good too, but perhaps they can lower the price a bit (maybe 155 pesos for a Beef Shawarma Rice plate?).
At the counter, I initially said "Beef Shawarma Rice Solo" but the guy still asked if I want an upsized drink. I went with the regular size anyway.
I like that they have a TV screen and it was tuned in to the UAAP cheer dance competition.
Hits all the right spots if you're looking for a casual, enjoyable, reasonably-priced persian/mediterranian food experience.
Flavors of their meats and everything else taste familiar to what you may have been accustomed to, but done well in a clean and cozy atmosphere. They don't hold back on the portions as well. If anything, I'm a bit bummed that there isn't any Ox Brain on the menu. Maybe in the near future (?).
Yes, there are a couple of reliable places around katipunan with the same offerings, but you'll probably want to keep Shawarma Bros as one of your constants.
Wanting something affordable but not fast food, we went to Shawarma Bros for lunch. UP Town Center has an area with reasonably priced food places and Shawarma Bros is one of them. I’ve always liked the Chicken Shawarma Rice Meal - it’s pretty basic, no frills meal. You can choose among three sauces - white, hot and cheese - and they’re unlimited. I actually prefer the cheese sauce ‘coz the white sauce tends to be too watery in consistency. But it’s best to pair them together to give it more flavor. I like the ambience at this branch. Has cool wall decors too.
This is great. I really like this place. They have value for money plus the flavors are definitely what you would want a shawarma to taste like. This place is a must try
Food was alright and service was quick. Found the rice to be a little too dry. But Beef was great! Enjoyed the flavors. Sauces offered though weren't kept cold, unlike the BGC Stopover Branch.
it was good, portion is just enough.tried the lamb steak rice meal, while my sister ordered the beef version.go for the big-bro size if youre really hungry.good service and the place is also quite spacious, reasonable price.
I ordered Beef Shawarma Rice. The beef was tasty, I liked it on its own but their chilic sauce and pepper garlic sauce made it better.
Their large iced tea was indeed large, I like that. It didn't have too much ice either so more iced tea.
Only downside was that the rice was too little for me. LOL
The staff at the cashier was nice. The others, I don't know. They were all inside. I liked their place too. It wasn't too bright inside.
The meat was surprisingly good, can recommend this place if you're a fan of shawarma. The prices are fine for the amount of food you get. Try the beef buritto with a big amount of garlic pepper sauce.

I must say that the Chicken Shawarma I ordered fell short of my expectations. It was so different from those I had at the Mediterranean restaurants in Los Angeles. I don't even think that it was prepared the way the real shawarma is cooked.
The nachos (a Mexican food in a Middle Eastern restaurant, how about that?) at least passed my wife's standards.
We probably won't be back.
I had no expectations when I first entered Shawarma Bros one weekend. All I knew was that they started out as a food truck before setting up their first branch. They have now expanded to branches all over the metro.
Being a first timer, I was unfamiliar with their menu. I found their servers helpful, but a little impatient. We ordered the Beef Shawarma rice with Keema on the side. My fiancé and I liked the beef shawarma-- generous serving, very tasty and fills you up fast! You can add more flavor if you want-- they have cheese sauce, garlic sauce, and hot sauce. Honestly, I prefer Mister Kabab's keema, but that's personal preference. I like my keema with pita bread; SB's version comes with toasted pita strips... We thought it was okay...
I'm coming back for the lamb!👍🏻
Shawarma Bros was the first destination during our resto hopping at UP Town Center. Cautious of impending satiety, we just ordered their Beef Shawarma Wrap. It was satisfying and quite filling for a light lunch or snack. Costing was reasonable. Place was casual and clean. Service staff were prompt, attentive and courteous. Would absolutely come back for more.
Ate lunch here awhile ago and they didn't have pita bread so I just ate their chicken shawarma with rice and it was good! Their nachos was also nice. The place was simple and a little bit disorganized.
Portions are just right for the friendly prices they have. I like the beef burrito taste but I find the 1oz serving of salsa, cheese and/or garlic dip not enough for my order. The place promises a 'brotherhood feel' when inside the restaurant but there's no hint of it in the way the staff do their jobs.
Following the launch of Shawarma Bros at Bonifacio Global City Stopover a year ago, the Bros began looking for key locations to expand the BROtherhood. The search was successful and the shawarma experience is happening now UP Town Center in Katipunan.
Shawarma Bros have launched new dishes to excite palates looking for something different and budget friendly.
Pita Tostadas with Garlic Hummus (Php 80.00) – Their pitas are toasted in Panini presses for that grilled shawarma wrap that has become a crowd favorite. They now bravely take their pita game one notch higher with a deep fried Pita Tostadas combined with a garlic hummus dip to create a pleasing appetizer or merienda treat. I tell you, this one is sinful. Haha. If you're in a diet or a health conscious, you ask the staff not to deep fry the pita.
Keema Nachos (Php 159.00) – Experience a different side of the Shawarma Bros Keema as it is poured steaming over crunchy nacho corn chips, accompanied by grated cheese, diced
tomatoes and onions and drizzled with your choice of two sauces. Match it with a beer from their local selection to relax after a long day’s work.
Staying true to its roots, Shawarma Bros, which started as one of the first food trucks in the country, pays homage to each new location by having a mural dedicated to a specific landmark. In the Venice Grand Canal Mall branch’s exterior, a hand painted landscape of the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice serves as a colorful backdrop to a Shawarma Bros food truck. In UP Town Center, the truck is set in front of a hand painted artwork of the Quezon City Circle nightsky.
Inside the stores, string lights hang over an urban inspired setting to suggest that food truck experience in the busy streets of a city.
I prefer the chicken shawarma. Chicken is a white meat so our body can easily digest it. :)
Shared a beef shawarma bro with my mom and we both thought it was just okay - to put it simply, it wasn't anything special but it was quite filling at least. I did like the sauce that came with it (2 free sauces and I got the cheese and chili one). Ambiance was alright, it was cool inside which was nice since it was really hot outside. Service was good too.
I've been craving for Beef x Chicken Shawarma rice meal for weeks now, and I just had my chance last night. I am very satisfied, tho they don't have beers available yesterday. We'll surely go back and try their wraps. 🐷🐷🍴
Shawarma Bros offers "a different shawarma experience." Since Filipinos are predominantly rice consumers, they decided to offer Shawarma Rice Plates instead of the traditional wraps. Unlike other shawarma stalls, Shawarma Bros uses Biryani rice instead of just plain rice, include lamb in their menu and have three different kinds of sauces like the Cheese and Chili Tomato. To complement the Persian taste, they even created their own version of a mango salsa. The combination of flavors that Shawarma Bros offers have been well-received by Filipinos all over. Would you believe they only started as a food truck and now they have two branches - BGC Stopover and UP Town Center!
What we tried: Beef Shawarma Rice, Chicken Shawarma Rice, and Lamb Steak Rice
Personally, I loved the chicken and lamb the most, but I highly recommend you try them all when you visit! :)
We tried the beef big bro, i didnt know that we will be having keema as well for only P200+ It was delish! I love the garlic sauce ❤👍 Their crazy hot sauce was totally CRAZY!! Plus good service 😇
Don't you find it odd that i had to travel x number of kilometers to try Shawarma Bros. Believe me, it is peculiar as there is branch in BGC and this is relatively near Makati.
Anyway, i found myself loitering around UPTC one humid Saturday afternoon. I was on the hunt for some affordable grub and I wasn't in the mood to mingle with people. I spotted Shawarma Bros, empty chairs and tables and one customer. Perfect!
I was greeted by Third Eye Blind singing about Losing a Whole Year upon entry. This made me smile, good music. I checked the menu and feigned indecisiveness. Why? If i hear Scott Stapp, that's my cue to leave. Good thing, there's no trace of Creed in their playlist. I ordered the following. And oh, food is for two as i was waiting for CMA.
| Chicken Shawarma. Generous servings of chicken with some Turmeric infused rice. I wasn't expecting that much in the taste department but man, the chicken is the shiz! The meat is tender and seasoned well. This is best served with some white sauce.
| Beef Shawarma. CMA said that this was good too but he quickly changed his mind after trying a spoonful of the chicken. He said mine was better.
Customers get to pick two types of sauces, i settled on the garlic yogurt and tomato chili thingy. The white sauce is mediocre, Halal Guys still has the best white sauce, in my humble opinion. The red one is tagged as spicy but there is no trace of chili. My tastebuds don't lie.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Shawarma Bros. Good food, affordable price and awesome music.
Shawarma Bros has finally opened a branch up north! I have been enjoying Shawarma Bros for years already and I'm glad to see how they've come a long way from a food truck to coming up with a flagship branch (in BGC), and expanding to places. I was recently invited to visit their new branch in UP Town Center and try out their new dishes. Located on the second floor of UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, Shawarma Bros was formed by five Ateneo bros who wanted to undertake a food business together.
Introducing the new bro dishes of Shawarma Bros:
-Keema Nachos. Regular nachos, but instead of being topped with salsa, it's topped with keema. Works well with beer. (You can avail 4 bottles of San Mig Light for 50 Php per bottle for every order of keema nachos).
-Pita Tostadas and Garlic Hummus. It's my first time to try deep fried pita bread. It was enjoyable and I liked it, though it can get really greasy. The garlic hummus was good as well. It doesn't taste like the authentic hummus from Mediterranean restaurants but they have tailored it to the Filipino palate.
-Crazy Hot Sauce. Aside from their usual garlic yoghurt, cheese sauce, and chili tomato, those who want a stronger, crazier sauce can request for the crazy hot sauce at the counter. Dare to try a spoonful?
And then my all-time favorites:
-Shawarma Bros Iced Tea. It's not a secret that they use Allmytea for their iced tea, one of my favorites.
-Rice Meals. Available in beef, chicken, lamb, and keema. Served with mango salsa and Biryani rice. My favorites are the lamb and beef rice meals.
-Keema. Can be ordered with rice meals, wraps, or a la carte. I love this as a side dish for lamb or beef rice meal.
A month ago, Mr. Aldous Calubad invited me to the restaurant review of Shawarma Bros UP Town Center. The event showcased the selections of the same restaurant and the same flavors that I have tasted before. The selections include:. Pita Tostadas with Garlic Hummus. At Php 80, this tasty and flavorful appetizer is the newest addition to their menu. These are crispy toasted corn chips with a thick garlic sauce on the side perfect for whetting your appetite.
Currently on soft opening, we took the opportunity to dine in before it becomes too popular in the area 😛
We ordered lamb steak wrap, ground beef wrap and lamb burrito wrap. Everyone was happy with their orders, but I think the lamb steak wrap was the best! Their iced tea was a bit too sweet. I hope they serve their regular menu, though, I would've wanted a falafel. Also, please level up the hot sauce, it was not hot AT ALL. And don't order the cheese sauce. Cashier and waiters were very friendly. All in all happy to have shawarma in UPTC!
Shawarma Bros is a homegrown food chain conceptualized by 5 bros who had the same love for shawarma. Inspired by Persian flavors they produce meals made for the Filipino palate. Their 4th branch just opened in UP Town Center along Katipunan and I was fortunately invited to try their staple meals plus some new dishes.🙂

Glad shawarma bros is finally closer! Looove their lamb steak shawarma rice with keema. Beef and chicken shawarma with an iced tea will set you back about 180 while the lamb is about 220. Totally not bad considering the servings are big (for me at least), and the dishes pretty good.
Started by 5 friends with the idea of putting up a place that serves Persian cuisine but with their own taste infused with it. So basically, with a homey Filipino twist! I really like the fact that they have rice plates as a form of "tapa" style, as it's comfortable but still has you exploring different tastes. They've got 3 different branches other than the one in UP Town Center, which just opened 3 weeks ago. It's still undergoing repairs, but it's got a nice ambiance that does fit the millennial taste. I'm sure it'll look better once it's completely up and running!
We started with the pita tostadas and garlic hummus. It was a sinful deep-fried pita paired with good hummus. A bit bland, but does hit the spot, as it's perfectly blended and goes well with the fried pita (Especially when paired with their sauces and keema!).
The nachos tasted great as well, with keema and salsa as toppings. But I do with that the nachos were crunchier, as we got them soggy due to the keema (which had a bit too much oil for my liking). But either way, I would definitely recommend this and the tostadas if you're up for a cheat day that's worth it!
I didn't taste (or take a photo) of the shawarma or burrito, but based on size and the way people smiled and made yummy noises… I'm pretty sure it's worth the price! Definitely coming back for that one.
I got the lamb steak rice plate. I love the seasoning and how the yellow biryani rice matches the lamb and salsa. The lamb was in good chunk sizes and wasn't chewy and nice to bite. Chicken was tender and well-seasoned. Pair it with the garlic yogurt sauce, and you're good to go! I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese dip, as it was a bit salty, and the chili tomato a bit too… Tomato-ey, if that makes sense. Probably my taste, as I don't like tomato in semi-liquid form (So ick to ketchup and tomato juice/paste!). As for their iced tea, it's a nice blend that is similar to Wendy's iced tea (which I love), and isn't the normal Nestea/Lipton blend some restaurants serve.
I also like how the staff was attentive and quick to serve. It took less than 10 minutes for dishes to come out! All in all, it was a great dinner and it filled me up! Definitely worth the price (Average of 150-160 PHP).
Shawarma Bros started as a food truck business, I've seen them in Rockwell and Capitol Commons before. H2004 Ventures Inc. was formed in 2012 by five Ateneo friends who wanted to undertake a food business together. Four of the five co-owners (Abraham Castro, Gabriel Sobrepena, Joey Reyes and Rammy de Claro) were classmates since Ateneo High School while Paolo Layug was an adopted member of the group when they met in college.
