My favorite Chinese place. Their dimsums are way cheaper than the other restaurants. Food are delicious and worth their prices. The place is always packed so be sure to be early especially on weekends.

We ordered four trays of dimsum (Chicken Feet, Spareribs in Tausi Sauce, Sharksfin, Hakao), Salt and Pepper Spareribs, and Foo Kien Fried Rice.

I love their Sharksfin! It has shrimps and really flavorful meat inside.

Their Chicken Feet, smothered in chinese-style sweet sauce, was not bad either.

Spareribs in Tausi Sauce was a bit overrated though, we ended up not finishing it.

The Hakao was also good!

And the Salt & Pepper Spareribs, I label it on my list, “the best so far”. It exceeded my expectations.

Last but not the least, the Foo Kien Fried Rice! My mom liked it so much. I did, too. But I still prefer North Park‘s.

Yearssss passed as we dont frequent Libis but Causeway has not changed. Which is good. No picture, did not find time for photos, we devoured as soon as the dimsum started to arrive. For us, they serve the best #chickenfeet #beancurd #seafoodroll ... #valueformoney serving as usual is good to share, medium is large for other restos. All dishes are tasty. Waiters are snappy. We'll definitely be back.

This has been my officemates’ go to place for celebration for more than three years. Over all the food is delicious and the prices are fair. Before we tend to go beyond our weekly allowances for our regular dine but since we learned from our experiences we already know what to order. Here are the food list you can order if you are budget constraint and you will be treating your barangay:

1. Yang Chow
2. Calamares Salt and Pepper
3. Beef Brocolli
4. HoFan
5. Causeway Fried Chicken
6. Minced Spinach with Seafood - pls ask the waiter to serve this first para busog na agad sila. Wag mo ipapasabay sa mga order

For Dimsum:
1. Beancurd
2. Chicken Feet
3. Spare ribs
4. Siomai Crab Roe

Not advisable to order:
- Noodle Soup , hindi kasi nila forte yan promise
- Siopao, hindi ko rin nagustuhan hindi masarap

Happy eating! Kudos sa owner na napakabait at kay Ate Melody. Btw, best time to dine is 11:30am para konti pa tao at 9pm kasi may discount na sa dimsum.

This is my go to place for my dimsum fix. You can have yummy and affordable dimsum without having to travel all the way to Binondo. Today I had the Shark's fin, chicken feet, and Siopao bola-bola with a pot of their house tea. Service is good too.

Went here for dinner. The place was full but luckily a table or 2 had just been cleared so we got a place right away.

We ordered a bowl of Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup and 2 orders of Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (Hakaw) and drinks.

I was wondering why my sister only ordered one noodle soup but she said the servings are good for sharing. And yeah, it was enough for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 kid). There’s even an extra bowl of soup and we managed to finish it as well. The noodle and the soup is nice that our kid cousin likes it so much. I prefer rice over noodles but it is delicious so I enjoyed it.

The hakaw is the main reason why we chose this resto. The hakaw has lots of shrimps inside. Yum Yum Yum! Unlike other restos that has thick wrapper outside and a little shrimp inside, Causeway had it full packed. Definitely better compared to others.

They also serve free tea if you ask for it. It’s just that they gave me the tea that is no longer hot since the teapot has been given to another table before us.

It was a bit hard to call the staff since most of them are staying on the other side and I noticed that they don’t really like to smile. Hmm.~

Well, for the Hakaw, and to try other dishes, we’ll come back.

FAB Rating = 3.5

(F)ood = serving here is always filling. The regular size can feed 2 to 3 men or 3 to 4 women :) Cooking time os very short and the taste is as expected. Their hakaw is very tasty, while the salted fish fried rice is a food that can be eaten on it's own. Some dimsums are already discounted come 9pm on weekdays. You will definitely go back because of the food ;)

(A)mbience = typical Chinese restaurant. The servers are quite noisy which feels like you are in a house. The place is not that neat but they are fast enough to clean after every eating.

(B)utler Service = the waiters are rowdy but attentive. Service is fast and they give you exactly what you want.

1 pt for the staff, they are very prompt and very well mannered. They serve food without having to wait too long.

1 pt for the price. Simple, you get what you pay (or even more) plus they offer their dimsums for P58 from Mon-Fri within a specific timeframe

0.5 pt for the place. The place was really neat and tidy, the restaurant itself can easily be spotted as it is just along Libis. Tables are well cleaned, and soy sauce, garlic, napkin, and toothpicks are already on the table. What took me away was the restroom looks like the restroom needs some cleaning and some redoing. The door is already decaying, have a bidet but no tissue, (you don't expect someone to pull up their pants after bidet) it was like a different place once you entered the bathroom, and what concerns me the most is that their restroom is just beside their kitchen. Definitely their restroom needs to be cleaned from time to time.

2 pts for the food as it is served freshly cooked, their dimsums are being served on the spot, there's a trolley going round with all their freshly steamed dimsums ready to be steamed. Their dimsums are really good and you can taste the pureness of their ingredients. Their fried chicken tasted really good and very crunchy. What I liked most is their Garlic Shrimp, they serve really big shrimps and tastes really good. I say, tastes of their food is enough reason to visit it.

The hours are incorrectly listed for this restaurant since this place actually opens at 11am on weekdays. Anyways we were some of the first customers that morning and they rolled a dim sum cart next to us which had about 7 dim sum options available right away. The menu had many more items listed but weren't available on the cart and we were told they
had to be prepared individually. Alas, no chicken feet were available that day.

We tried the pork spare ribs, siomai, japanese siomai, siopao, and seafood rolled in lettuce. Portion size here was decent as each piece was meaty. The pork spare rib serving and taste was better than places like Tim Ho Wan. Taste here was fairly authentic but dim sum dishes were a bit oily. Free Chinese tea is served which is a nice touch too. All in all it's decent dim sum for manila but nothing amazing. I'd probably come again since they have a 50% off some dim sum items after 9pm and from 2-6pm.

edit: Have gone back here a few times since posting this original review and the congee here is really good so i'm bumping up the review score.

We used to buy from Causeway Congressional Avenue branch so I know their food tastes good. Last New Year's Eve, we ordered via phone and picked up our orders at around 4pm (they only allow delivery up to a certain area). We had : Lapu-Lapu Fillet with Taosi, Steamed Suahe and Braised Noodle with Assorted Seafood. The shrimps were very fresh and the fish also tastes great. I originally wanted pancit bihon or canton but the staff said the braised noodle is their version of pancit. It was really saucy unlike the usual pancit but I liked it and it's full of assorted seafood toppings. The Small serving for their food is already good for 2-3 persons. They also have bigger servings - great for gatherings and the like. Food was also on time even if it was a busy day for them.

A great after place for Titos and Titas of Libis after that 2 bottles of beer. Noodle soup + 50% off dim-sum after 10 PM would surely save you from that alcohol kick you had from your "business meeting". My favorite Chinese resto. 😋
Their menu offers a wide variety of Chinese cuisine - from the most popular dimsum to exotic food like jelly fish.
What I like most about this place is their "Dimsum Cart" that goes around each table so you can just pick any steamed dish in the cart. They have siomai, seafood roll, spareribs, fish head, siopao, beancurd, hakao and THE BEST CHICKEN FEET in town! 😋😋😋

Best time to visit is in the afternoon. It gets really crowdy around lunch and dinner time. Now that's a good indication on how good their food is!

PS. They also deliver!

Decent Chinese food spot. The restaurant was pretty packed on a Friday night but my friend and I were able to get a table right away. All of the big round tables were packed with huge groups of both Chinese people (always a good sign) and everyone else so the place was noisy.

Service was good, food arrived quickly, and price point was as expected. For some reason we didn't end up ordering Patatim, or Hong Kong Style Crabs so I'll have to re-report on that when the time arrives.

The highlight of the meal was the braised chicken feet. I must have a strange affinity for braised chicken feet but a good chicken feet is hard to find. My friend and I have already discussed coming back here just to have a second dinner of dim sums. Everything else was good but not great.

- Home style Braised Pork Belly with Polonchay- really good flavor, tender, but it had too much cornstarch and that made everything stick together.

- XLB (Xiao Long Bao) - Very juicy. It was good but not the best. Just needed a bit more flavor.

- Chinese-style Fried Chicken - This was great; the skin was crispy and the meat was moist and juicy.

- Fish Fillet with Taosi - It's fried crispy with some black bean paste. Very delicious. Need some rice to go with it because the sauce was a bit salty.

Definitely want to try some other stuff on the menu next time! Or maybe just go back for some dim sum, since that's what they seem to be known for.

No fuss no frills chinese food. I have been passing by this place for the longest time and finally have gotten around to trying this place out. I like the minced shrimps cooked kyoza style and the two kinds mushroom with broccoli flowers. I feel that the chicken feet is a bit dry. The pork with taro in pot tastes good as well. We had to wait a bit as the place was packed. But overall ok.

My love for Causeway Seafood Restaurant cannot be denied as I keep coming back for more. Whenever my family craves for Chinese food, Causeway is probably the first name that comes to mind. Being in the business for 15 years is enough to show people that this place has already made a name and its here to stay. Plus, reasonable prices for authentic Cantonese food! How's that?!

Now, brace yourselves for a long line of my personal faves! Ready? Chicken with Sweet Corn Soup. Steamed Prawns with Garlic. Causeway Fried Chicken. Sweet and Sour Pork. Fried spareribs with Salt and Pepper. Broccoli with Garlic. Yang Chow Fried Rice. Beef Hofan. Honey Roasted Asado. Peking duck. Wanton noodle soup. Hakaw. Siomai.

Oh, believe me, the list still goes on. While I dont eat chicken feet, my parents love em'. Only thing I remember that didnt really make the cut for me was their crispy fish fillet - too oily and bleh.

Place can be crowded specially on weekends and needs a major interior revamping. Waiting time may test your patience, service staff needs to smile more. But screw that, Im here for the food anyway..😁

Experience great Chinese cuisine and visit Causeway now!

For me, this is the best go-to place if you're craving for dimsums and authentic Chinese food in Libis. Food is great and the price of dimsums goes 50% off after 9pm! We are regulars here in Causeway Libis. Their dimsum are so yummy and best part, affordable! The have extensive choices for their dimsum and sometimes we dine here and just order all dimsum. The downside to this restaurant are
1. The place is not that presentable. I think their restaurant already needs a major renovation. Floors, tables, chairs and even the walls need major uplift.
2. Parking is very limited.
If you are not too particular in ambiance and just craves for yummy chinese food at affordable prices, then come here!

Crab Roe Siomai, Steamed Shrimp Dumpling, Chicken Feet with Tausi, Salt & Pepper Fried Squid, Sliced Beef with Ampalaya, and HK Salted Fish with Chicken Cube Fried Rice or sometimes that oily but extremely good Garlic Fried Rice make up my usual and no-fail "Happy Meal" at Causeway. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people have their own list of favorites too! Other than taste, I also like their large serving portions ideal for sharing with affordable pricing. Dining staff may need training on customer service though but I'm not too particular about that as long as they serve my food consistent in taste and served at the right temperature.

My favorites are the spinach soup, the beancurd, fish head dimsum, spareribs and hot prawn salad. That's my usual order whenever we eat there. But of course they have a lot more in the menu to choose from. Make sure to be ready to fall in line if you'll have dinner there on sundays coz there's so many people. When it comes to dimsums, Causeway has a special place in our hearts! Casual and Chill Chinese restaurant that offers great tasting dimsums.

❤️ THE PLACE

The place is just right, but then again, since there's a lot of diners eating there, it always get packed easily. The place is clean  but it looks untidy for some reason.

❤️ THE SERVICE

I was originally put 5 rating on the start of this review, but then I realized how terrible is their service. I think this is something that they need to improve BADLY! The servers were slow and unattentive. We have to call their names around 3-5 times for a particular request. :(

❤️ THE FOOD

But then, we're hear for the food! We have our staple orders everytime we go to Causeway!

Chicken feet with tausi- One of my favorite. Tenderly cooked chicken feet with sweet and spicy sauce. The feet is really soft that it wouldn't be so hard for you to eat that is perfected blended with their sauce.

Spinach Dimsum roll - I insisted my Dad to ordered this one, but he told me that I wouldn't like it. Yeah, he's right. I don't like it at all. Covered with sticky wrapper filled with vegetable and shrimps.

Seafood roll - My favorite! Fish, Crab sticks, and Mushroom rolled in Bok Chai with slightly salted sauce (What can be wrong with that combination right?) . yumyum!

Salmon fish head -oohhh, that fatty and delicious pieces of Salmon head is really outstanding.

`Bean Curd - Everyone's favorite!

Coldcuts Platter - Our meal will never be complete without coldcuts! (Made up of Century Eggs, Seaweed, Chinese Sausage, Roast Barbecue pork, Lechon Macau,  and Beef Tenders)

Yang Chao - Ofcourse, forever in our table! :P

Beef Haofan Noodles - Really Good! Big chunks of beef in a haofan noodles with unique smoky taste.

Oyster Cake- Just right for me. The oyster bits are too small. Mann Hann's version is way better.

Lemon Chicken - Above Average. The sauce is good that it's not too sour, and the crispiness of Chicken retained the juiciness of the meat.

❤️ THE VERDICT

Will always go to Causeway no matter what, but then again, I'm pretty hoping that they will improve their service. Upon checking the reviews below shows that everyone of us had the same sentiments with regards to their service, so yeah, it means something. :(

I have long passed by that main highway in Libis but only recently did I notice the Causeway restaurant there. Tried it out on a Sunday weekend and they were jam packed! There were a lot of families having dinner since it's such a family restaurant. We were 6th in line, and were seated after about 15 minutes of waiting. We just couldn't leave the place because the smell inside was so good you know there's great food waiting.

There was a cart with dimsum going around the restaurant, and from there we got siomai (4 pcs = 1 order), spareribs and chicken feet. It was my first time eating chicken feet and I must say I did like the way they seasoned it.

From their menu we got Yang Chow fried rice, Ground Pigeon with Lettuce Wrap, Beef Tenderloin Chinese Style, Causeway Fried Chicken, and Assorted Cold Cuts (which had asado cuts, tender beef slices, century egg, steamed chicken and jellyfish salad). The server said each order was good for 2-3 people so our order was way too much for five people. But everything was so good! From the cold cuts dish, I loved the beef slices the most. I also liked the pigeon with lettuce wrap.

My only problem with this place was their service. It took us quite a while to get a table and when we did we were made to wait for some time as well. Their staff (which I felt was lacking) were all so busy moving from place to place attending to the customers. We even had to call their attention to give us the menu, and we had to call them again another time to give us glasses for water, small saucers for soy sauce and tissue, all of which I feel are basic to a meal in a Chinese restaurant and should be served even without the customers asking for it. There was even a point where the owner himself (or probably a relative) was the one who gave us our food.

As mentioned, we over ordered and I felt the food we got was good enough for 8 people, so I was shocked when the bill amounted to a bit above 2,000 pesos only, They really offer good value for your money! In short if you want super yummy, authentic Chinese food, you should definitely try out Causeway, but be prepared for the long line and less than average service.

If you live in Eastwood City, then you know there is no sit down family style Chinese restaurant anywhere to be found. Choi Palace has been blocked by the Megaworld Mega and their infinite need to expand and conquer, though they still don't seem to care about quality. Therefore, although their are about 100 places to have hamburgers, Dimsum is out of the question. So what do you do???? Where do you go???? Do you make the agonising trip to Binundo just for food??? For me, I tried to push the thought of soy chicken and roasted Asado from my mind.

I tried to forget the crunch of fresh fried spring rolls and ice cold Tsing Tao. I tried to eat one of Eastwood infinitely bountiful hamburgers, but nothing satisfied the urge for MSG, and XO sauce. I tried to eat sushi and imagine it was good enough, but let's face it when Dimsum is on your mind only Dimsum can curb the craving. Since Irish and I are always up for an adventure we decided to leave the laughable so called Eden of Eastwood City and walk down the C-5 in search of Causeway Seafood Restaurant. I have been reading about this place for some time, but the info and lack of photos seemed a bit sketchy at best. As we crossed the C-5 we found ourselves on the other side.

Free from the grasp of Eastwood, their infinite rules and overpriced everything. We felt invigorated even as we walked down the highway. The walk to Causeway is not challenging from Eastwood, but it's not enjoyable either. It's not just strolling down the sidewalk, in fact at points there was no sidewalk, but all in all its not too far.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy but dated. The staff at times is non existing, which is odd considering the amount of employees just looking at us during our entire meal. I don't know if it's not common for Caucasians to eat there, or if they couldn't grasp the idea of how tall I am. Who knows, it was just a bit uncomfortable, but not overbearing and in no way ruined our meal.

The beer was ice cold, but the local beer was just cool, so spend a bit extra and get the Tsing Tao. We started with Dimsum, both nights......!!!!! Yeah that's right we went back two out of three nights, what can I say the menu is massive and such little info about it on Zomato, we wanted to do it justice.

The Dimsum is awesome, not perfect, not incredible, but good enough to calm the cravings and soothe the soul. The shark fin dumplings have far more pork than shark fin, which was a little disappointing for Irish but a pleasure for me. The steamed shrimp dumplings are amazing, wonderful in every sense of the word. Many will relate them to Hakaw and it's true, but these are solid shrimp with a great wrapper that was incredible at 100 pesos. The same dish in EASTWOOD would be 230 at least. The spring rolls are crispy, meaty, juicy rolls of goodness, but the hero is actually the sauce. They mix soy with
Worcestershire to create an incredible concoction that is Ahhh!!!!! So so good. The Asado is on par with most, but lacks that traditional smokey flavor. The hero of the meats we tried was the soy chicken which was crazy good!!!!! Other highlights include the garlic prawns, which Irish finished on her own, though I managed to sneak a few. The prawns were really fresh, and the garlic matched the sweetness of the fresh prawns perfectly.

So if your living in Eastwood, or are visiting and have a craving for Chinese don't hesitate to boycott the wannabe westernized freak show of Megarubbish and take the short walk down the C-5 to Causeway Seafood, you won't be disappointed. Afterall it is the only Chinese restaurant near Eastwood that offers cold beer, great Dimsum, amazing roasted meats, and glorious seafood. Not to mention that the total cost of our two day grub out cost less than one night's dinner in Eastwood. Causeway Seafood Restaurant gets the highest rating I have ever given because, the food is wonderful, the prices are amazing, and it's the only family style Chinese restaurant anywhere within walking distance to Eastwood's Expansion Domination.

The delight of a Sunday afternoon lunch or dinner with the family never fails to excite me because we always look for something Chinese. Yes, we all agree with Chinese food. So after hearing a mass, may it be for lunch or dinner, we agree to one thing. Causeway Libis. It is for me the best place for big families like us to bond and get to know our week long's activities and just indulge with their pancits, dumplings and their chicken feet. Traditional Chinese cuisine is what attracted to us the most in this resto. It never changes :)
