Love the ambiance of this place, really relaxing ! And very unique. The price of food is cheap considering it's location. The place and the food feels like home.
Good Ambiance. Well ventilated place where you can chill and enjoy Sundays. :) Pandesal and Ensaymada tastes heavenly. They offer usually Filipino comfort food, which tasted average.
When I'm looking for good food, affordable prices, relaxing ambiance, and early opening time, this is just the place to be. For breakfast, how does callos with rice and hot coffee sound to you?
Once I come back, I'd have to try their crispy tawilis. I initially planned to have it with monggo, but was unavailable.
Barry's Fried Chicken.
I am really a fan of low keyed restaurant with cheap price and amazing food. Pan de Amerikana is one of those gems ❤
Katipunan, Maginhawa and Marikina residents are definitely lucky to have easy access to these gems restaurant 😮
I love their interior and ambiance. They have breads that is perfect for any drinks. I usually visit this whenever I am near the area. I really love their ensyamada that is big and flavorful. Perfect for breakfast even on snacks but it is heavy.
The restaurant serve filipino dishes and this is famous in pan de sal and ensaymada so you better not forget to try it when you are here.
Anyway, We ordered Bulalo, Sizzling Pork Sisig, Laing, cup of rice, Pan de Sal, Ensaymada and Red Ice Tea.
Laing and Sizzling Pork Sisig was one of the best.
The place was clean especially the toilet. While waiting for our order to arrive, we took a picture to their upside down dining set and explore the place.
The staff are friendly, accomodating and our food serve it fast.
The price is very affordable.
We take out our leftover bulalo, request for the additional soup and they grant it. 👍
We enjoy and satisfied eating here!!! will definitely come back soon 😍

This is mom’s favorite pandesal because of their wheat bread. You will find the restaurant’s exterior very interesting with a vehicle hanging off the ceiling. My friends say their ice creams are good too! Will try that next time, and also entrees they serve here.

I am still amazed how affordable the food here is at Pan De Amerikana! With eye catching facade and affordable pirce, this place is worth it to hang out for.
(F)ood:
Their menu is so diverse, I did not know what to order. I want to order most of them. Reasonably priced and sooo lutong bahay. You can sense that they would just like to share their food to the rest of us.
Chicken and pork adobo - just like the way we cook it at home. Only P110 with rice. Can be shared by two persons.
Tortang talong - I so crave for tgmhis since anything with egg is definitely good enough for me. Only P45!
Chicken in mushroom gravy - this is new to their menu. So many sauce, I love it!
You should try their breads too! Big in size and very afforable.
(A)mbience:
This is a truly unique ambience. Both an experience and sight to see. They hang their furnitures and the whole house upside down! So cool! They also have a garden-like ambience inside. Full of old-school memorabilias which will make you reminisce the old times.
(B)utler Service:
The servers provided us with our needs at once but are a little timid when asked about the best sellers, probably they hear that question always hehe...
First thing to notice about this place is their unique design! A house that is upside down outside and inside. You can see some dining sets inside that are at the ceiling. The restaurant owner seems to be part of Land Rover club, so you can see a lot of good pictures of Land Rovers in different places. The interiors of the restaurant itself is quite interesting, they have a lot of framed pictures of people (Who I think are celebrities).
They serve Filipino food. We ordered bulalo soup and it comes with 3 cups of rice (which we weren’t able to finish). The mongo we ordered was too bitter for us so we just take it out for my mom. She liked it because it’s healthy despite it’s bitterness. 😂 Since the name of the restaurant is Pan De Amerikana, we thought that their best seller is their pandesal, so we ordered one first to try. It was bigger than usual and yummy. So we decided to order some for take outs.
PS. Cash only for payments.

I brought my girlfriend here one time to show her the unique exteriors and the homey interiors that this place offers. We weren’t disappointed since the weather cooperates that day and everything went well. Parking was not that much of a problems since it was still relatively early but I’ve seen this place before being filled with people and cars so it’s best that you time your visit well. I wouldn’t take it as such a big hassle though since they have a security guard that helps you with everything.
FOOD (4/5)
I’ve researched a lot about this place before visiting it because I really wanted to try what they’re good at. We ordered the Bicol Express (P75), Pork Sisig (P165), and the Bicol Laing (P50). We just asked for 2 plain extra rice (P30 each) to go with our meals. Yes, it truly is cheap here and the value for money is really good! Although the serving isn’t that generous, it’s price isn’t that bad as well! We loved the flavors of all 3! They were delicious and tasty. Perfect for a decent brunch! As for our dessert, we ordered fresh moringa juice (P40) and an ensaymada bread (P15) which we happily shared since it was huge! Safe to say both were delicious as well! The moringa juice was very refreshing and the ensaymada had generous cheese and sugar on it.
SERVICE (4/5)
I have no complaints with regards to the waiters since they were all very attentive and friendly. We asked for a photo and the waiter happily took one for us. They listened to all our queries and answered all our questions.
THE VERDICT (4/5)
In general, this place is awesome! For me, it’s a perfect place to gather with your family for breakfast or lunch. It gives such a relaxing ambiance and a light vibe. The furnitures inside the restaurant are all upside down which goes with their design outside with is an upside down house. They offer great and affordable food and their service is good. If you’re looking for a unique place on a simple day, then you’ll find one here! Cheers! :)
Nothing special on the foods. The place is nice, kinda classic with upside down furnitures. Little thing that i don't like is the lighting. The resto was kinda dim. not suitable to boost one's appetite.

Affordable good food! Must improve though on the timely serving pf food and drinks. And if servers will be more cheerful and accommodating the experience will be perfect.
This place was created will love. The exterior of the house already proves it. It's an inverted house. The even went to the effort of putting an entire car up in the ceiling upside down. They are popular for their big wheat pandesal. But their resto has much to offer. My favorite dish is the 'Tinumok'. For family dinner must try their 'Sinugba Platter'. Food price are very affordable.
A great escape from the bustling busy streets of the city :) I love the ambiance and aesthetic of the place. The service is superb! The waiters and staff are very attentive. Their food is also really great - especially their pan de sal! Will definitely go back to try their other menu items :)
I am a frequent visitor of the Marikina branch and it’s my first time to visit the White Plains branch though I just live within the area. As usual, the place and the ambiance didn’t disappoint. Both branches are homey and relaxing. Perfect to dine and chill. Me and my sister ordered bangus sisig (it’s perfect!), bicol express (it’s spicy as expected and a little maalat for me, but my sister liked it), grilled liempo (nothing special with it), fresh lumpia (i’m a lumpia expert so my verdict is it’s good and have the right amount of peanuty taste with the sauce that really coincide with the fresh lumpia), and the everlasting (i always order this in Marikina, but i’m slightly disappointed when i tasted it here coz it’s a bit different). Anyhow, the pan de amerikana white plains experience is still good and refreshing! The staff are attentive, the place is clean and the ambiance is friendly. It’s just sad there’s no more ensaymada when we arrived but the super bango freshly cooked pandesal is always always a treat! ⭐️
Place - from the inside, the restaurant/bakery looks like an upside down house. From the inside, it looks like you entered a different era. It feels like homey actually. There is a part were there are upside down dining tables were you can take pictures there. There is also a hall of fame of our older generation artists and a stairs to were it leads to the upside down car outside. The tables has a chess board printed on it and you can request for the chess pieces if you wanted to play.
Service - staff were really attentive and I think the owners are there. Thay were very hands on w/ the restaurant. Food were served 15-20mins.
Food - we ordered Tapa w/ rice and egg, Omelette Mushroom Cheese w/ the choice of rice or pandesal (btw, I chose the pandesal), Pumpkin Soup, Steamed Okra, Pandesal and Moringga Juice. Food here is very good. And the pandesal is a good catch, for a big pandesal, it was only 7PHP a piece.

Aside from their unique facade and interior, their food tastes good and are fairly priced. They were able to maintain the cleanliness of their restroom too and the staff are polite as always. Aside from their Bicol epress and laing, you should also try their embotido.
Cool feels. Uniquely ensemble. Price are incredibly cheap. The variety of breakfast sandwiches got oh so gaga over this resto. Tawilis meal across the metro. Nice experience.
Good food, as always. Our go-to place to eat in the morning. Their viands are all good. I've got nothing bad to say. We always go out the place with a smile on our face and a full stomach. Try their Dinuguan, Bicol Express and Caldereta. They're my best pick. And Barry's Chicken too. Awesome food. And don't forget to buy Pandesal. 👍❤

The place is very cute. The house is upside down. Filipino food with reasonable price. They have ilocano dishes too. Everlasting and Igado is a must try dish here.
Everlasting is similar to embotido but it is ib llanera with sauce.
Igado is a ilocano dish that is also similar with adobo.
Your visit will never be complete without trying their super soft and tasty ensaymada and pandesal. 😍😍😍
Superb! 😊👍 Thank you for theFather's Day greeting and free ensaymada. Such a sweet gesture! 👍👍👍
Will surely go back and recommend!
Great food and value for money.
Great ambiance! It's not every day where you can see a restaurant like this in Manila. Good ambience, quality food and great service. Personal faves: Batchoy, pandesal and tapa.
I love this place from the ambiance to the price on their menu. All are affordable Filipino dishes. Their pandesal is a must try Php7 each and it's humongous. I also ordered mango shake (Php65).
Limited parking but it's worth to checkout the whole setup of the place.
Want tasty breads and loves to see old stuffs?
You've came to the right place!
Pan De Amerikana is the best place for you.
Such an amazing place and food 🎉
I've been going here with my family for breakfast. The food is ordinary but very affordable. The place is so unique because of the upside down decors and vintage photos of Filipino actors/actresses hanging on the walls.. They have the best wheat pandesal in town. It is big, soft and hot straight from the oven. They use the pugon or a wood fired oven that looks like a big fireplace. The place is very homey and nostalgic.
One of my 'all day-any day' restos. Service could be a bit delayed during peak hours but understandable because of the crowd. But overall, food is good and price is very affordable.
This place is so close to home and this is the first time I tried it. Its so homey and the waiters are very attentive. I had the dinuguan with rice. Its lacking a bit of heat but otherwise good. The lumpiang gulay is packed. Cozy place.
Our go-to place to dine for a light, delicious, and simple meal.
We find it nicer to go here on Sunday mornings, usually after our jog.
The serene scene on an early Sunday morning is perfect for their hot chocolate or coffee and their big and light pandesal. It's not only the food that is great but the service too.You won't expect that a not-so-fancy restaurant will have an awesome service. Servants are very courteous, prompt, and neat. (I bet their boss loves their employees so much that they were treated for a trip in HK. You can see their pictures upon entering.)Not only that, you're eyes will also feast on their interiors. It's just so cute for me as I'm a bohemian style lover and I find it kinda hippie.P400-P500 is just right for a meal for two.
Goodmorning!
The food was great and delicious happy thursday god is really great all the time

I seen Pan de Amerikana at zomato, so we give it a try even after eating at near by resto, well the place is so cool and cozy, there's decoration that's place upside down, We ordered their igado, bicol express, turon with icecream, chicken sandwich, lumpiang gulay. All the food tasted great, service is very attentive, we surely going back again to try their other menus. I think they should make their breakfast menu to all day...cause their breakfast menu are only serve til 10am hope it will be whole day cause my son love bangus silog.👍👍👍
It was a very great place for breakfast!!!... 😊😊😊 we went here at around 10am... place was very relaxing... the view and set up was so amazing, wherein some designs were placed upside down... good for taking photos... the food were also great!.. we had the tapa, daing na bangus, adobo, longganisa ng ilocos, tinomok( my fave food, if im not mistaken about the name) mango and melon shakes, banana con yelo and the bilo bilo... all tastes good at very affordable price!... nice!... will visit again here soon!.. 😊😊😊
Pan-pan-pan de Amerikana.
Akala ko Amerikano! Oh well, aside from its kitschy appeal of a place, Pan de Amerikana offers comfort carinderia-style food without going to some slum area.
I'd go for the Bicol Laing, Bicol Express, Ilokano igado (pork liver and loin) and even the Dinakdakan. For snack, get the pandesal sandwiches (either sardines or corned beef).
Of course, don't forget some bread pastries for dessert with some hot chocolate or salabat.

For the fresh unique set up which wil.make u look around and stare at every bits and pieces posted and decorated on their walls ceilings and corner areas, great ambiance, good food which is definitely value for money, good service and reasonable parking space i have given them a rating of 4. The pandesals are bigger than the usuals, same as their ensaymadas. They open at 7am which is great for people who are coming home from night shift like me.
Finally I got the opportunity to eat here!
The place is very easy to recognize, if you’re not familiar with the area.
The outside design is so amazing. The idea of an upside down house is very catchy!
When we enter, the place is more amazing! It looks like the person who owns the place is a enthusiast of range rover. They have a lot of photos for range rover and they have this miniature red range rover.
On the other side of the restaurant you’ll see photos of Philippine actors and actresses.
They also have a cool hand washing area & the bathroom is also well designed.
Since I’m not yet hungry I’ve tried their carbonara and ensaymada, whilst my colleagues ordered their sisig, pork liempo and steak.
When the food was served it was not that enticing, but when I’ve tasted the carbonara it tasted good and the price is very affordable, for only 70php!
The carbonaras sauce is very creamy! Normally carbonara is served with garlic stick, pan Americana served it with a bread stick. I love those 3 small bread sticks! It taste very delicious and it will taste more delicious if you dip it in the carbonara sauce.
I also love their sisig, their t-bone steak is also worth the price. The t-bone is very tender as well as the pork liempo.
This is the place for comfort food! Aside from the very homey ambiance the price is very reasonable!
I was looking for a restaurant that can serve Laing and thankfully, Zomato gave me this name and we had the best Laing ever! Dinuguan, fresh lumpia, Dinakdakan - 💯 delightful! I wasn't able to take a pic of our food but I'll surely will next time!
I come from a family of great cooks especially when it comes to Filipino dish, so I would say I have high standards for Filipino food. I would say most of the food here lived up to my standards of what a Filipino dish should taste like.
My family enjoyed most of the dishes we ordered: Kare-Kare, Grilled Liempo, Bicol Express, Dinuguan, Chicken BBQ, and Palabok. The Bangus Sisig was a little dry and could use some kind of sauce for flavor. The Chopsuey was also very disappointing. The ratio of sauce to the vegetables was terrible. The sauce had so little meat too, barely anything in there... but, other than those two dishes, everything else did not disappoint.
Pan de Amerikana is a no-frills type of place where you basically go to eat and just chill. Everybody was nice, no doubt about that. Overall, glad I came back and got to see it new and improved.
My friends and I have actually planned to visit the place and we finally got to do so last thursday, November 5. The place is really cute, although a little small compared to their other branch located at Marikina, this branch felt homey and welcoming. As much I as enjoyed taking pictures of the place, I guess I couldn't say the same about their food. We ordered the carbonara, sisig, pandesal, and even tried their halo-halo. The carbonara was tasty but super bitin! I tried the sisig, and I liked it. I'm not a big fan of sisig so I guess that's a compliment. Their specialty (the pandesal) is worth 20 pesos for three pieces. THREE HUGE ASS PANDESALS. Tasty, but I'm not a fan. On the other hand, the halo-halo tasted.... Common/Regular. It tasted like the halo-halo I used to buy just in front of our house. The place was great, the food was okay, so I guess this place is worth a visit 👍🏼
We came by the place at around 7pm for dinner, so I was expecting there will be a lot of people. When we entered, I saw the design of the place. It was really cool. Upside down objects placed above the ceiling. We took a lot of pictures of the place since there were only a few people. You can even play chess on your table because there were boxes of the board game. We ordered their sisig, t-bone steak, fried tilapia and tokwa't baboy. Sisig was just okay maybe I was expecting too much. Tbone steak was good, very juicy and the sauce was delicious. Tilapia was just typical but it has a some dip an achara-like. I like the tokwa't baboy. I'll be back to try more of their menu since it was very affordable. The staffs were also very attentive and kind, they even insisted to take some of our photos. Thumbs up for affordable price and design of the place 🙌
when I hear pan de amerikana, it's not really the food that I remember but the place itself. i love the cozy feel and the artistry :)) the food is fine and it's cheap as well but I would suggest if you want to go here it should be breakfast time... Wala lang, I enjoyed the place kase during breakfast time :)))
Finally, I was able to try this place after a long time of deciding back and forth. I must say, I was very satisfied with their food. It has good servings and the foods are well cooked and savory.
Kicking this off with the food, I ordered the T-Bone steak, and it was big and tasty, but not as much as the other steak I get to try. So I'll give this one an average taste. For the boyfie, he ordered the pork sisig. I actually loved this, even though I am not a sisig fan except for Dencio's sisig, I'd consider this one a win. It was palatable and served full.
Quality and affordability all rolled into one. Must-try's for me are the following: wheat pandesal, wheat ensaymada, baked mac, laing, inihaw set and a whole lot more!

Has good food, a relaxing ambience, accommodating staff, and a very friendly guard. Will definitely be back here soon.
The choice of food can be seen in usual carenderia and also I heard that their Ensaymada is a must try so I tried it. I was surprised when I found out that Ensaymada is only fifteen pesos. For the mains, I had pork sisig which is for sharing and costs 165 pesos excluding rice. What makes it very special is their upside down interior. You must visit here!
Love the topsy turvy concept. Love the super duper friendly staff from the guard posted in the parking lot to the breadman where you can order some pan de sal takeouts. Every food we ordered was delicious especially the tinomok! Famous for upside down house, rover, piano and everything else. So filipino too! I love 😍
My parents love Pan de Amerikana pandesal it is tasty, big
and affordable! :) One
time when we drop by to buy pandesal we decided to dine in. The place is very
nice though they do not have comfy chairs the decoration inside the store will keep your eyes buy its is
very interesting. The ceiling is very appealing. Food is Filipino cuisine, I ordered
bicol express it is good and very affordable parang carenderia price. :) the only problem I can see aside from the not so comfy chairs is the limited parking space. but all in all it is great dining at pan de amerikana.
Vintage feels! I love their comfy and unique upside down design. The food is great and very affordable. Their pandesal is so big and fluffy, for only 20 pesos (3pcs.)
This is our favorite breakfast place!! This place is so cool, every decor here is upside down.. Even the entire facade of their restaurant is upside down (white plains branch). I personally love their tocino breakfast meal and Baked mac with their famous Pandesal! I have went here so many times already, I lost count! definitely a place worth going to :)
I love their pandesal, it's fluffy and buttery. The place is nice and impressive. They put so much attention to the design of the place. Makes you really comfy. The food here is very affordable and you have a lot to choose from.
A biggie after a 12-hour fast was truly tempting so we thought about checking out one breakfast buffet along Marcos Hi-way BUT we couldn't find the place! Quick thinking brought us to White Plains. First time I visited the place I was impressed by the decors. So as this second time. I was starved and meant to pigout so I hit it off with my fave brewed coffee, dinuguan, callos, shanghai and the tastiest tinomok, a dish similar to laing but is filled with ground pork wrapped around taro leaves and cooked in gata (coconut milk).
The menu is filled with affordable Filipino dishes along with a couple of steaks offered.
Brewed coffee is great as always so as the glass of calamansi juice.
The place is frequented by patrons looking for affordable, family oriented ambiance (pretty much like sitting in the sunroom eating breakfast with the family in a typical, sunny morning) and tasty food.
One major setback I note to mention though is that that 2nd visit remained a swatting experience. A couple of pesky, stubborn flies kept making their presence felt during the otherwise delightful breakfast. Truly a nuisance!
Great place. Very vintage and relaxing. 👌🏻 the food was great and their pandesal was really awesome. 👍🏻 we went there for lunch and they are still trying to renovate the place. Limited diner will be accomodated but still great.

Great vintage look their up side down furniture theme is eye catching. 1950's ensaymada and pandesal is their main bakery product which is okay. They have value for money good for merienda with family and friends. The seafood grilled platter is just your common lutong Bahay style, the food are generally lutong Bahay not much fusion but I love their Halo halo don't miss it when you visit.
We like the ambiance of this place - so cozy and home-y! My fiancé specifically loved their pandesal which was larger than his fist. The tapa, as he puts it, was well-marinated. We'll definitely be back to try other items on their menu!😁

Filipino comfort food at a very cheap price but most definitely appetizing. The exteriors got me thinking what would this resto have in store? Upside down bikes, a car and even the roof is upside down. Very unique concept of how everything is.
The inside had the same concept too. Upside down chairs and tables, though it was very hot inside and it doesnt seem like it was well ventilated.
When it comes to the food, I must say it is very much pocket friendly. In less than a 150 pesos you'd a have a good meal plus a dessert to enjoy. I ordered their Tocilog meal and their rice could've had much more of a saltiness to it. Their liempo was also good flavor wise but, my cut was a bit tough. And for the Buko Pandan, ugh. It was heaven inside my mouth. I'm a very big fan of Buko Pandan salad and their version of it is by far one of my favorites.
You guys must try this place for a very unique dining experience. Plus, you don't have to spend as much to enjoy it here (we only spent around 500 pesos for three people. Meals, desserts and drinks for the three of us each) . Thumbs up!
They make the best Caldereta in town, the price range is good, and ambience and the set up of the place are some of the reasons why I should definitely come back. ☺️

The place was so cozy and comfy. They have the best baked mac ever and the lumpiang shanghai made me order rice to partner it with. You had my world turned upside down Pan De Amerikana. Nice. ??
Great Food :) Extreme Ambiance!
Just need to ready yourself because it's hot inside!
Best is timonok and waknatoy!
Parking is not so spacious.
Cool place to hang-out.. Very interesting and good for family dine-outs.. Great food, very Filipino-style at a reasonable price, esp the silogs.. And their pandesal is a great treat.. *thumbs-up
Very unique ambiance.
Crew is very friendly.
Very reasonable price.
I so like their wheat bread and that ceasars salad
The cabinetry and carpentry is amazing!
So here it is. A very unique concept kind of restaurant. OId portraits of celebrities added on the attractions plus the 360° landscape above. So budget friendly. Pinoy style foods and big Pandesals are their cuisines. Garden style for the ambiance.
Good place to eat, affordable price with good taste of food and ambiance. I like the concept of the resto. Small unlike their branch in marikina, but i love the fact that it is not crowded. Limited parking. Filipino-American dish like laing, dinuguan, steak and bake macaroni and more. They are famous with their huge pandesal.
I like the bathroom and the wash area very creative! We usally bring our friends and family here!
My husband picked me up from the office past 7pm. We were both hungry and we feel like we can't wait till we get home to have dinner. On our way we saw Pan de Americana. It is the same restaurant that we love in Marikina the only difference is their interior. We ordered pork sisig and Callos. Both are great dishes. It was first time for my husband to try Callos by the way. After our meal I ordered ginataang kamoteng kahoy. Sweetness is jus right. I like this dessert because I find it too simple and easy to appreciate. What we like best in pan de Americana is its price. You'll get to eat home cook food with a very cheap price.
If this place is only few kilometers away from where I live, I will definitely comeback whenever I can. The food is soooo delish at a pocket friendly price, the ambiance is beyond ordinary with the furnitures hanging on the ceiling. We had a take home bread which was a hit for my bread-lover kids. A recommended place for the whole family!
This. Place. Is. Awesome. Staff is very friendly. Lots of seats and tables. And the interiors! Everything gives out a cool vibe. There are loads of celebrities' pictures on one wall, sceneries on another, furniture that's hanging upside down from the ceiling, a few waterworks. It's just a really cool place, I tell you. But you know what the best part is? Everything's really cheap as well! My boyfriend and I ordered 3 dishes, 4 cups of rice, 2 drinks and an ensaymada. Yuumm! Ensaymada was really soft, not too sweet as well. Then we had the lumpiang shanghai (4 pcs). It wasn't as crunchy as I wanted it to be but it was alright. We also had bicol express and bangus sisig. They were both really tasty but I wanted it spicier. Although the bangus sisig was very good on its own even without the added heat. My boyfriend ordered calamansi juice for himself which was really fresh and I had red iced tea which... didn't really taste like iced tea. More like kool-aid. Haha. Anyway, the food and ambiance was enjoyable so I'll still give them two thumbs up!
Good ambiance. Affordable. For family, friends and/or even with your partner. Must try: laing and bicol express (since I'm half bicolana) :)

I love this place! Honestly, the food is just usual Filipino fare, but for the reasonable prices and good service, everything adds up to a high mark.
The breakfast meals of silog range from 70-90 pesos. The serving is exactly what you would expect from a dish worth below 100. Everything was cooked just right. My daing na bangus was okay, deep fried, and paired with runny sunny side up. The tinomoknis also yummy, cooked inside a wrap of gabi leaves with coconut milk and a little chilli.
I also find the upside down topsy turvy theme of the resto really endearing. With the cute piano and tables and chairs bolted to the ceiling as well as the car parked upside down at the facade.
My favorite thing about the place is that it doesn't have service charge and yet the servers are polite and attentive!
Always make it a point to buy wheat pandesal from them before you go home! Their wheat pandesal is yummy and big and fluffy! Not to mention affordable.
The first time that I learned about this resto was way back 2 years ago,
because of my bestfriend. We made plans of dining here but due to schedule
conflicts, the plan has been pushed through at the end of my mind. It was around
early this year when we accidentally came across this resto. We
were heading somewhere in White Plains when our taxi passed by here. My friend
was the first one who noticed it, we even asked the taxi driver to make a U-Turn
and drop us instead at Pan de Amerikana. The rest is history.
The facade is very unique, this is the only resto I've been to with upside
down facade. Very photogenic! Even the Range Rover was upside down. Their lobby
consist of wooden chair, framed photographs and a chess board game. The main
dining area and the lobby was separated by a wooden bridge. Inside, it felt like
an old house with lots of memorabilias from the 80s - sepia-colored photos of
Filipino celebrities on a portion of a wall, colored glass lanterns, potted
plants and wooden tables and chairs.
Their menu consist of Filipino foods - Silog breakfasts, chicken, pork, beef
and fish dishes, short orders like pancit, Pinoy desserts and shakes. They offer
wide array of choices and the prices are relatively inexpensive. You can get a
complete meal below P200, I can spend the same amount when I go to fastfood but
nothing beats a 'lutong-bahay'. The taste is good, if not great. It's like your
grandma's version of home-cooked meals.
Recommended dish: Crispy Mushroom (Appetizer)
Though are known for their pan de sal, we weren't able to try it. I'd be
happy to dine here everyday if it weren't too far from me!
PS: At the time of visit, there was no service charge. :D
PAN DE AMERIKANA
Once featured in a tv show, Mom wanted to visit Pan De Amerikana in Marikina. Luckily, they have a branch nearer our place so we pushed thru our plan and headed to Pan De Amerikana QC branch.
I was quiet intrigued when I saw the facade of the place, an upside down Rover and even the roof is upside down. The place has no aircon so its a bit hot but they have electric fans all over the place. Upon entering, the ceiling will catch your attention, everything is upside down, the chairs and tables and some plates glued on the table. Mom and I settled on our seats and asked for the menu.
The price of the food was suprisingly affordable. We ordered Everlasting half llanera (P90). I didn't like much the presentation of it because it looks like a dog food in a plate. But the taste was okay, you need to add ketchup to taste better. I ordered Bicol Express (P65) which tasted good. I love the spicyness of the dish and how I can feel it in my throat. I love that the pork they served has no fats in it. I almost ended the plate clean, except for the chili. We also ordered Pandesal, I was shocked of how big the Pandesal was but I almost ended up eating all 3. I super hungry!
The experience was good, feels like the normal carenderia type of set up but a bit with class. Shell our cash is around P150 inclusion of 2 viands and rice. The staffs were accommodating as well and helped us decide what specialty to order.

Super cozy. A good place to eat and relax.
Everything here is affordable. Food is ok and they serve it quite quickly. The ambience is cozy and laid-back and even a bit on the quirky but homey side. I quite love it. I had ilokano pinakbet, which delivered as promised. The taste of ginger is there, similar to how they cook pinakbet in Ilocos Norte. I'd eat again here because it's relatively cheap but the ambience makes you feel you're eating somewhere not quite cheap.
everything is upside down, the facade of the restaurant/bakery has a touch of oldie feel but cozy inside its like you are in a garden with lots of picture frames of old Philippine actors and actresses
the food is very affordable, and nice, their bicol express and fried pla-pla with garlic is tasty and dont forget the green mango shake
halo-halo and mais con yelo is perfect for this summer heat
when you go home the experience wouldnt be complete without their wheat pandesal and ensaymada, 5 pieces of each will only cost you around 90 php which is in huge servings

An upside down Range Rover hung in front of the Pan de Amerikana gives an inkling of something out of the ordinary. The artistic weirdness does not stop with the shock inducing sight, a further look and one will be able to observe that it is part of an upside down house that makes up the facade of the restaurant.
Entering the doorway and moving on to the dining area, a quick look above at the supposed ceiling and you'll see the topsy turvy decor extents to the interiors as well.
My wife and I settled on our seats when we saw a sign that we should order from the cashier, but when we were about to stand up, a waiter told us that it was ok for him to take our orders. Scanning through the menu, we were quite surprised (in a good way) at the prices for the dishes, they were quite cheap. The prices resulted in our ordering a little too much.
Fresh Lumpia - Quite a big roll for the price, filled with julienned vegetables topped with a sweetish brown sauce.
Arroz Caldo w/ Egg - My wife loved the chicken poordige topped with generous amount of garlic bits. Irene and Lauren both can't help ordering arroz caldo anywhere. She also ordered Tokwa't Baboy (P30), tofu an dork simmered in a vinegar based sauce; the traditional accompaniment for arroz caldo.
Chicken Barry w/ Rice - I was intrigued when I saw the name on the menu and with a low price tag, I ordered away. I was quite disappointed that it was just a piece of fried chicken, not necessarily bad freid chicken but I was expecting something different. The chicken was actually quite flavorful and the skin was crispy.
Pla-Pla w/ Bawang -.Garlic lovers delight, the fish was covered in tons of garlic bits. We were thinking of ordering some more, but we decided to forgo that for the next visit.
Tinomok - Taro leaves covering minced meat and cooked in coconut milk. The Bicolano version of the laing, my only wish was this was a little bit spicier.
Watermelon Shake - Not that big of a glass but for the price, who was I to complain. Perfectly refreshing watermelon shake.
I had previously bought pandesal from Pan De Amerikana many times, loving their large sized pandesal and old school ensaymadas, with only sugar and margarine on top.
This was the first time we've tried eating there and we will definitely be back here. The ample parking, cheap prices are really a crowd drawer and best of all you get to buy their pandesal to take home.
