This place is awesome. Speaking of Chinese food, it is genuine and authentic. Price is very reasonable. When it comes to rating how clean a restaurant is, you can tell on how clean their restrooms is. I am sure the kitchen is clean and well maintained as well. Thumbs up to the owner and staff! The servers are nice, attentive and courteous. The dining area is very spacious — perfect for family celebrations. They also have VIP rooms where you can comfortably dine.
Been here alot of times because I often crave for a good cup of hot and sour soup.

Whenever we're having desserts just across this resto, we always see it packed w/ customers because there's plenty of parked cars outside of it. Though we never got to try here because the resto looks a bit intimidating and pricey for us hehe.
Well thanks to a friend, I finally got to dine here. 😉
The resto is spacious enough to accommodate big groups and events. They also have live seafood display, so you're guaranteed that your seafood meals are always fresh.
During our visit, we got to try their Baked Rock Lobster with noodles in cheese sauce, Braised Pork Spareribs with Asparagus, Tai Chi Soup, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Roasted Chicken and Mango Sago.
All of it tasted great but my top picks are Braised Pork Spareribs w/ Asparagus, Yangchow Rice and Mango Sago.
So if you're in for an Authentic Chinese food treat, you must try here at Oriental Palace.
I just had dinner here and I was expecting slow service given that the place was jam packed. Full tables, lines, and a function in their bigger area. Surprisingly enough, all of our food came on time except for the duck which in my opinion was okay because it was absolutely divine and it didn't take too long really. Everything from our soup to our mains were "very" good, well seasoned and sublime.
Nice place to catch up with friends and family, great service and really friendly owner . Love their duck, fresh seafood and dimsum! Reasonably priced which is really a plus for me ❤❤❤
Had Mother’s Day celebration here at Oriental Palace and I’m glad we made a reservation. The place was huge and yet it was full! We ordered Spinach Soup, Roasted Duck, Polonchay Tofu, Beef Ribs Black Pepper, Steamed Lapu, and Crab with Sticky Rice. We enjoyed all the dishes except for the soup, which was a bit bland. It would have been 5 stars if not for the serving time of the food. Good thing there was live acoustic band and we were quite entertained. It’s not our first time here at the resto, so we kind of figured the delay was due to the volume of customers. And kuddos to the head waiter, who kept on checking on our orders from time to time.
This was the first time we tried this resto even if we always see it along Morato. I had mixed reviews so, I just had to try it for Chinese New year. The plaxe was packed. When i called to reserve, I was not asked if I wanted a round table . On my end, I assumed all were round table. We were 12 but they reserved for 8 only in the couched table. I had.informed them to make it 12. The place was jampacked. I am.not sure if service was always tgis slow or because it was CNY. They should have been prepared. We only had 6 dishes but the food arrived within 3 full hours! Food was good. The crab was meaty and fat. If not for the slow service, i would have given it a 5. We wanted to get some dessert but they would no longer accept, saying the kitchen could no longer accommodate.
it is a tradition for my family during new years day to eat out for either lunch or dinner in a restaurant. in most recent years, Oriental Palace has been the go to restaurant. delicious dishes and courteous service (well, it varies)
what's unique from the get go is that it serves Japanese food while maintaining its Chinese cuisine in the following dishes.
a highlight for me was the scallop in sweet and sour sauce, topped with a mango. that was a delicious bite!
pancit was good and i ended up having 2 bowls, paired with XO sauce.
definitely would come back here (as if i have a choice!).
For fresh seafood, my favorite is the steamed suahe. Here at Oriental Palace they have excellent fresh shrimps. On this occasion we paired it with lechon macau that was crisp and their yang chow. Fluffy egg on the rice with generous serving of veggies and fluffy rice. A good meal overall, however a bit noisy in the restsurant. On off peak hours though its better.
Trying for chinese food around Tomas Morato? I still prefered Oriental Palace. Since they introduce new dishes now and then. The food was great.

Love their Polonchay Tofu! The best! 😊 generally, their chinese food is very good and reasonably priced. Waiters have improved and are more attentive now. Staff is also friendly 👍
If you're feeling of having Chinese food tonight, reserve a table at Oriental Palace. Dinner here always feels like a party. This is a decent restaurant to host a birthday celebration with your family, with a big space, casual ambiance, and great food served in huge portions ideal for sharing. As I said: party.
The menu doesn't say much beyond the names of the dishes, appetizing photo representations, and the prices, but it's definitely helpful to guide diners especially those who are unfamiliar with the dishes. Everything we had deserved a two thumbs up! Order any food from dim sum and soups, noodles and rice, to mains and desserts with confidence. Seafood entrees like crabs and shrimps are must-tries.
Oriental Palace in Tomas Morato is a modern, incredibly satisfying approach to traditional authentic Chinese cooking. Take multiple glorious bites and begin discovering your love for Chinese food again. Prices are fair and pretty similar with other Chinese restaurants we frequent.
Ate here with family and relatives, never thought they offer these kinds of food. At first I actually thought Oriental Palace is a low end chinese restaurant. But after seeing the set menu I was surprised and happy to eat all these chinese food again. Wasn't able to check the prices but food was great!
It was our first time visiting the place and it did not disappoint. Perfect for family dinner or even special events. Everything we had were delicious. This restaurant will definitely one of our top choices for our next family dinner.
Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food is so yummy and very good. The staff are so friendly and polite and the service was a little slow. I also like the venue because it is so huge and simple but elegant.
Had a fantastic time here. The waiters were very attentive and courteous. The food was sumptuous and abundant. highly recommended! we ordered the Salt and Pepper Squid, Birthday Noodles, BBQ Pork, and Beef Cubes in Garlic.
I actually couldn’t remember the prices but the food is delicious though our original plan is to have crabs but then it seems pricey so we had sweet and sour fish, shrimp and fried porr with lettuce. The staff are courteous and the place is huge. Crazy Feet
The food was really great it was all served hot and delicious. All staff were also attentive to guests' needs. Its pricey yet its really worth it. Try having Pineapple Fried Rice, Japanese Udon Soup, Crispy Pork with Lettuce, Steamed Crab, Almond Prawn Cakes with Crispy Seaweeds, Fish with Black Vinegar Sauce, Sliced Beef with Celery and Oyster Sauce and the best dessert Mango Pomelo Sago
Authentic Cantonese cuisine. Huge place so you have a good chance of getting a table esp on peak days. Crab rice is so good. Good food-active waiters & waitresses
Dining with my family on a saturday evening. Oriental Palace Seafood Restaurant serves the best authentic chinese cuisines with its HONGKONG CHEFS, we love the food so much especially its wide array of live seafoods and a lot of specialties. Service with a smile by their ever attentive dining staffs. Parking is not a problem with their own secured parking areas. Highly recommended!
I fell in love with this place the very first time my family and I are here. First, the staff was amazing. They were nice, professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Service was quick and efficient. And second and most important, the food was good. We enjoyed everything. Each dish was flavorful. I personally liked the beef (I think it was called Rainbow Beef, not sure). This is now our go-to restaurant for Chinese food cravings.
Wah Yuen or Oriental Palace’s menu showcases Henry Chua’s family’s artisanship in delivering fresh, delicious and authentic Chinese food to their loyal diners. Everyday, Henry assures he would handpick the freshest catch of the day – red glistening lapu-lapu, scampering crabs and large jumping prawns.
The Food:
Tai Chi Seafood Bisque / Rate: 5/5
Tai Chi Seafood Bisque, creamy pumpkin and spinach soup merged into one bowl, is a great example of perfect balance. The way to enjoy a bowl is to taste both the pumpkin and seafood soup individually first before you slowly combine both kinds of soup together.
Crispy Hong Kong Chicken / Rate: 5/5
The dish Crispy Hong Kong Chicken romanced my palate every second I was chewing on it. Eating chicken almost everyday, I can somehow depict what’s low quality, mid-level and high quality chicken. Instantly after a bite, I wondered where Oriental Palace sources their insanely juicy and tasty Crispy Hong Kong Chicken. True to its name, it is imported from Hong Kong.
Special Hong Kong Sausage Rice in Pot
The highlight of the night goes to the Special Hong Kong Sausage Rice in Pot. It is a bowl of an all-star mix of chorizo, duck liver, duck leg, duck liver sausage and pork belly. If you love Chinese sausages, this dish will keep your mouth shut from talking and your attention goes directly on the premium taste of these sausages alone.

Had to eat here since my Dad loves this place. We ordered spinach soup, beef with brocolli, japanese siomai, scallops, and shrimps (suahe) prepared with fried rice. Spinach soup was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. I liked their beef with brocolli. It was one of the better beef with brocolli I've tasted. Their japanese siomai was great as well. My dad loved their shrimp cooked with fried rice. It was not too salty and the shrimp was more than enough. For dessert, we had their almond jelly and lychee. The jelly was quite firm and the lychee felt fresh. On top of this, their service was great and was very attentive in refilling the water and changing the plates without any prompts from us. I'm sure we will be back since this is one of my dad's favorites.
As a late Chinese new year celebration, The KTG sat down for a lauriat feast at Oriental Palace along Tomas Morato.
It all began in 1978 when the Escolta station of the Love Bus just opened. Henry Chua, a young cook from Hong Kong, opened a small noodle and dimsum shop called Wah Yuen.
It was his dream to share delicious Chinese cuisine to families in Manila. The same dream was carried on by Chris Chua, Henry's son, who inherited his father's gift and passion for good food and excellent cooking.
Fast forward to 2016, Oriental Palace continues to showcase the family's artisanship in delivering fresh, delicious, and authentic Chinese food to their loyal diners.
And now, to start off 2017 with a bang, they have created new celebration dishes with the help of Master Chef Chiu-Fai Tsoi, who has worked at many establishments in different cities all over the world including Hyatt Regency Tokyo, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and The Ritz-Carlton Beijing.
With thirty years of Chinese cooking experience, Chef Tsoi has published a series of cookbooks to share his love, passion, and talent to homes and families everywhere.
Every single dish in Master Chef Tsoi's menu is an art piece, a creation that will not only please the palate, but the eyes as well.

If you already know about Oriental Palace, you'll be interested to know that they collaborated with Master Chef Chiu-Fai Tsoi from Beijing, China.

His stints in the food industry include five-star hotels and three-Michelin-star restaurant, The Langham Xintiandi - Shanghai. With over thirty years of Chinese cooking experience, he crafted new dishes for Oriental Palace's guests to enjoy a sumptuous feast.
We love how plump their Typhoon Shelter Crab (避風塘大蟹) are to the point that we weren't able to resist eating it with our hands. Truly, there is joy in nibbling its coating together with the outstanding crab meat. Me-An went in for the claws since those have the most meat for her.
Chinese restaurants are the reasonable choice for large celebrations whether one is a Chinese, Filipino, or both (like Me-An). They usually have round tables that have a lazy Susan, more commonly known as a rotating table placed on top of a table. So, aside from large servings being offered, families or large groups can share food with ease not to mention such kinds of table help create an atmosphere of conviviality and enjoyment.

We had our family reunion here and I can say that their place is really huge! Price is very cheap for Chinese restaurants but their food were nothing outstanding. My favorite from the dishes we ordered was their assorted cold cuts and steamed grouper with soy sauce. The interiors of the place is cozy and the waiters are very assisting.
Covered 2 events here. I enjoy the food. Love the shelled seafood with garlic vermicelli and more. :)
Will comeback here and bring my family next time for a treat.
It's the first time I ate here where I did not attend a family gathering. It's a different experience. Their shrimp salad is what we got and bird's nest with crab meat. Servers were attending to us but the food were served after about 25-30 minutes. It's the norm when there's a gathering. You just don't notice the time cause everyones chitchatting. But when there's just 2 of you, it's just easier to track time (especially when you're breakfast skippers like mo amd me haha!) Anyway, they have a lot of parking space so tjat's always good. It's also not too pricey, and it's not called oriental PALACE for nothing. The place is so big so seating is also no problem. Looking forward to our next visit.
If you're looking for good quality chinese food, this is the best in the area.
The must try here are their seafood dish suahe, lapu lapu, crab.
My other favorite is their
fried rice with scallop my order this time is just a bit under seasoned bland in taste.
Polonchay beancurd.
Siomai good quality.
This place won my asian heart! Gotta love their crab and steamed suahe. I also enjoyed the maki rolls, steamed lapu-lapu.. bird's nest with crabmeat soup was a very tasty starter and the peach almond - considered a must for desserts. Highly recommended!
i had a very bad experience here when it was chinese new year because the place was really packed and maybe they were not able to anticipate the rush of families having dinner. We waited for an 1 and 1/2 hour to be exact, my dad and brothers even went to jollibee to eat some burgers since the food is yet to be served but we have already ordered in advance. I can't say anything about the food because well it was exquisite that is why i am still giving it a 4 star despite of having a bad service. We will definetly go back here when there is not much people anymore.

Celebrated my birthday here last time. I was skeptical at first because of the reviews but this was the closest Chinese resto in our area. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Sir Benny (I think he's the manager) guided us on what to order and the right serving. Food are delicious, specially the sukcling pig and lobster.
Chinese New Year is just around the corner. And because of our strong Chinese influence, that means we celebrate that, too! Something that both cultures do the same is eat as a family. And guess whaaaat! There’s a gem of a Chinese place in Tomas Morato. It’s called Oriental Palace and it opened there around a year ago.
I was able to try the dishes they're offering during the launch of their lucky dishes for this year 2016 (Year of the Fire Monkey) based on Feng Shui expert Mr. Johnson Chua. Oriental Palace has been in the restaurant business since 1978. They started as a small dimsum and noodle shop in Escolta.
Here are the dishes that they served to us during our food review:
* Asado and Polo Pao - I love their Polo Pao. It actually tasted like the one in Tim Ho Wan. The crust is crispy yet soft to the bite. The filling is appealing as well.
* Steamed Live Rock Lobster with Garlic - I love dishes with garlic flavour. I just love how garlic makes the dishes taste more flavourful. You can tell that the lobster used is indeed fresh. The meat is sweet and tender and when mixed with garlic it creates a savory taste. Thumbs up!
* Steamed Live Twin Lapu-Lapu - This dish has a balance of flavour. The fish meat is so tasty and it melts in your mouth.
* Whole Suckling Pig - One of their best seller is the whole suckling pig. No wonder why because it really tasted good. Because it is roasted to perfection the skin is super crispy and the meat is juicy.
* Whole Sea Cucumber with Australian Abalone - It was my first time to taste sea cucumber and I actually liked it. It was cooked perfectly because it did not taste nor smell fishy. I actually thought it was kare-kare because it kinda tasted like one.
* Steamed Crab with Sticky Rice - This is my favorite among the dishes. Fresh crab seasoned with fine spices steamed on top of sticky rice. The sticky rice absorbed the flavour of the crab. I can actually eat the rice on its own.
* Fried Juicy Pigeon - The pigeon used in this dish was kinda small but despite of that it tasted good. The meat is chewy and juicy.
* Whole Dried Scallop with Sea Moss - The scallops were soft and easy to chew. Combined with the sea moss it creates a burst of unique taste which I love. Another thumbs up!
* Fresh Green Mango Shake - I choose this drink because I love green mango. It also acts like a palate cleanser because of its tangy taste.

I was actually not interested at first to try this resto coz its seems that it's not really appealing from the outside. As soon as i go inside i was amazed how big the place is. They have Fresh seafood, chinese and japanese cuisine is what they serve here..Once we got into our table they serve hot tea and peanuts :-).. Another waiter got our order, the food was served in less than 15 minutes.. They are very attentive once they see that your glass is almost half empty they will immediately refill and check on us every 5 minutes. what a very nice experience ;-)
My parents decided we try this restaurant near our place. It's been here for a while now and we haven't even tried it yet. It's a chinese restaurant that caters to casual dining and fine dining. We wanted to try the shabu-shabu originally but decided to just order ala-carte.
We did have the beef brisket with radish. The beef was just right. It was tender and the taste was good. Not too salty and not too bland. The tofu was a surprise for me. It almost reminded me of the chawanmushi at teriyakiboy and i happen to like that very much. The beancurd was a little too oily for me. Plus the xiao long pao was oily too. Honestly, the food was good aside from it being oily.
Staff: all attentive
Cleanliness: well maintained
Oriental Palace formally opened in March 2015 and is owned by a family of restauranteur. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Chinese dishes and the ones I've tasted are truly delicious.
There are dim sum in many variants – Hakaw, Siao Long Pao, Pork with Shrimp Siomai, Spare Ribs with Taosi, Chicken Feet, Beef Balls and Steamed Bean Curd Roll.
For the main dishes got to taste their Prawn Tempura, Suahe Fried Rice, Oysters with XO Sauce, Lapu-Lapu with Mango Sauce, Roasted Suckling Pig with California Maki and Roasted Peking Duck with Seaweeds.
Each dish has a character on their own and equally delicious. The freshness of the prawns was very evident in the Tempura dish. The fried rice is like the Chinese version of a Paella. The Mango sauce complemented the fried Lapu-Lapu and is a good departure from the usual Sweet and Sour variant that I get to eat in other Chinese restaurants. I love the slight crunch in the Oysters. The suckling pig and duck dishes are divine with the crispy skin and tender meat.
Good food enjoyed in a great ambiance. Oriental Palace is big, ideal for family celebrations. The restaurant is also designed to accommodate various functions and events happening all at the same time.
Oriental Palace offer a wide variety of tasty, filling flavors and textures from vegetables to all kinds of meats. There is always something for everyone in the family to indulge in.
Oriental Palace offers fresh and delicious Chinese food based on their perfect understanding of balance through the years of their expertise. Oriental Palace takes great care in serving well-balanced flavors and textures for discerning tastes of their customers.
The family patriarch, Chua Kun (Henry Chua), handpicks the freshest catch of the day at the market (prawns, Lapu Lapu, lobsters, eels) and oversees its preparation in the kitchen as head chef. A HongKong chef himself, he guides the other two HongKong chefs in the preparation of the dishes to ensure its authentic taste and quality of food being served.
Do try out the Xiao Long Bao, Hakaw, Peking Duck, Suckling Pig plus Shrimp Tempura and you'll never go wrong. Roasted Duck with Seaweed is priced at P 500 - 1/4, P 1000 - 1/2, and P 2,000 for a whole duck.
Dine in at Orient Palace sometime. You'll love their food.
My friends and I went out to lunch one weekend at Oriental Palace.
We ordered a mix of Japanese and Chinese dishes: I got Bacon Roll, Xiao Long Bao and Hakao while my friends got ramen: Spicy Prawn Ramen and Oriental Prawn Ramen.
We also tried their shakes: green mango for my friends while watermelon shake for me.
The service was very impressive. Our server even offered to help us in getting our helpings for the ramen.
We were even given a complimentary fruit platter.
The prices were very reasonable and the service was the most impressive I have seen in a Chinese restaurant. The food was beyond ordinary. A must-visit in the Tomas Morato area.
Oriental Palace, the newest family Chinese restaurant in Tomas Morato, started its operations last November 8, 2014.
Mr. Henry Chua is very hands on. He goes to the market himself everyday, makes sure the food is prepared with perfection and goes around tables to talk to customers. He is from Hong Kong who specializes in Cantonese fine dining as well as their two imported chefs who takes care of roasting and dim sum.
This massive restaurant has a main dining hall, shabu-shabu area (soon to open 24/7), function areas and private rooms that can accommodate up to 800 diners. It is adorned with beautiful chandeliers with mostly red walls and gold accents. There's an entrance and parking space (with an additional open parking lot) on all three sides but the main door is located along Scout Gandia St.
Different kinds of seafood, including exotic ones, are available in the restaurant. Choose from different kinds of fishes such as Lapu Lapu, eels, lobsters, shrimp, elephant shells, etc. with guaranteed freshness.
espite the posh-looking environment, Oriental Palace is easy on the pocket and gives you more than what you pay for. Each dish tasted simple in a good way (no umay feeling) and fresh. We kept coming back for more of the main dishes despite how full we were with the dimsum, appetizers, Jasmine tea and shakes. I wasn't used to eating dimsum without toyomansi but I got appreciate it more. I love that my Japanese food favorites are also available in their menu.
My personal favorites were Xiao Long Bao, Hakaw, Tempura, Suahe rice, Oyster XO, and coffee jelly. I would love to try their lobster and crabs next time :)
