Nachos is my all-time fave. I've only a few in my list I'd say that really meet my standards and La Carnita's baked nachos is simply the B-E-S-T! The serving is so generous for a very reasonable price. Will keep on coming back

My friends and I went to the Katipunan branch around 8:45pm. It's almost the store's closing time by 10pm: - Few of the menu choices were not available, it's given because they ran out of ingredient before closing time. - Nachos Ala Bomba is very good as everyone said. ♪~ - The menu price is acceptable, given the amount of a food they served. I still give it 5 stars despite small disappointment I mentioned, which is forgiven. :)

I've been to almost all the food park, tasted a lot of nachos but Nachos A la Bomba tops it all A must try I ordered soft taco and already paid for it,but upon claiming they said there's no more soft tacos instead they will change it to hard Anyway I will definitely go back for the Nachos and hopefully can have soft tacos by then

Not my first time in this joint for a no holds barred mexican food fiesta. This latest petite branch is at the ground floor of a condo located further back from Katipunan (C-5). A first incursion though into their La Comida (smoked pork ribs) and surprise, surprise! A delectable & sizeable "pork"-tion awaited my pallette which left an inviting impression. Paired with their irrepresible Nachos a la Bomba and their incomparable mild sauce, you just cant go wrong with their south of the border offerings!Back in a bit!☺

My hubby and I go here because it's his comfort food. The meat of ribs and pork liempo would melt in your mouth. Both of us are into mac and cheese and theirs is pretty good. The place is very colorful being a mexican themed fast food but at the same time laid back. Their menu is friendly to the pocket.

Too bad they will move to another building in Loyola. I really love that it is near Victory where we go.

I just wanna say I really love La Carnita! Ever since I tried it out, I've been craving for it every now and then! I always order their grilled chicken with rice and elote. It's really worth it for the price and it's better than other grilled chicken + sides places like Gringo and Periperi. I wish more people ate here so that it stays open for a loooong time hehe. I also tried their cheesy nachos. I've yet to try their horchata - I think they have one but it's caramel/dulce de leche flavored so that kinda holds me back as I might find it too sweet. Will definitely come back again!

(4.5/5) What a brilliant place!

Yes, I found the ambience to be way too dark and the servers too ineffective but the food is the good saving grace. Got the grilled chicken, which was uber affordable. It was the most flavorful thing I've ever eaten. I like this one better than the offerings of Peri-Peri, Gringo and Señor Pollo.

Go here pls! I heard the nachos too are pretty wicked!

We decided to have appetizers and we just happened to be in the vicinity. It was our first time eating at La Carnita and the nachos looked enticing enough so we gave it a try. They did not disappoint. It deserves its name, Nachos ala bomba because its just perfection. The nachos itself is crispy and just the right thickness, and the presentation is quite good. We also had the quesadilla which is amazingly good as well. Tasty witha little bit of spicyness to give it a kick just enough to wake your sleeping taste buds. I'd definitely go back even with the hellish traffic in Katipunan.

I had to let out a big WOW when the waiter served their bestselling nachos - complete with a cheese pouring performance that was as yummy to the eyes as it was to the taste buds! A very nice touch that adds much elegance to a fast food that people usually give no thought to serving right. That presentation, and the heavenly experience of their premium beef and fresh cheese - has taken my love for nachos to a whole new level.

Their chimichangas and La Comida are good for their price. Their nachos definitely stood out for me, one of the best in Katipunan.

However, we ordered jalapeno poppers and it was all cheese and no jalapenos. We thought they got our order wrong but they didn't have the plain cheese flavor. I was quite disappointed with that.

When we are craving for mexican food the only place that satisfies us would be Mexicali. Ever since our college days, Mexicali was the best for us. Now that we have tried La Carnita, we now have options. The only difference is that Mexicali offers enchiladas and La Carnita does not.
La Carnita’s chimichanga is the best! We love the flavor and the sauces that go with it. It’s deep fried to perfection. What makes it even more perfect is they are generous on cheese!
Other dishes that we have tried and are good too would be their burrito platter, their taco and their cheese quesadilla.

This is a hidden treasure at Regis Center in Katipunan. It is located right opposite Ateneo De Manila University and walking distance to Miriam College. So expect a lot of students from these institutions to visit this place. I accidentally stumbled onto this place and tried out their food cos I was really hungry and wanted some comfort food after classes all day. I am glad I took the leap of faith and tried this place. Here is my take on the food, service, and ambiance. The food is highly instagramm-able and facebook-able.
Food: The food is totally worth every penny you pay for it. The food is warm with gooey cheese and a perfect blend of flavors that are delightful to the taste buds. The menu offers a wide variety of choices there is something for everyone. The prices range from 60 pesos (During Happy Hours) to around 200pesos. The portions are usually really large and good for sharing. Each dish comes with dips which are not only visually pleasing but adds to the food as well. I have already visited this place twice and look forward to trying out all the chicken dishes on their menu.

Service: The service is good and relatively prompt. The waiting time is 10-15 minutes because they actually prepare each order ensuring that it's fresh and delicious. Hence I don't mind the wait. The staff is nice and helpful.

Ambiance: It is artistic and quaint. Tastefully decorated with simple metal scraps in hues of gold and warm brown. They have couches and tables and chairs. The place is spacious and can also accommodate large groups.

Favorite Dishes: I loved everything I tried. The Burrito Wrap. The Carnitas Quesadilla. I cant wait to try the Nachos Ala Bomba. And the Chicken Meal combos.

Tips to the management:
1. Update the menu on Zomato to include the other options available at the store.
2. Keep up the good food. Consistency is the key :)

This restaurant in Katipunan is famous for their Mexican flavor. Packed with mostly students as they offer affordable prices for their meals. During the visit, staffs were able to assist us with our needs.

I get to try their La Comida, which comes with either ribs, chicken or pork belly. I must say that the Chicken and Ribs were tender and oozing with herbs and spices. So delicious. There’s also corn on the side which I think they can work on as it tasted a bit dry and chewy.  Overall, this place is a must visit if you're craving for some Mexican food.

The restaurant had a lot of tables to accommodate several guests. The place however had a very dimmed lighting and there was an unpleasant smell at that time.

1. Nachos Ala Bomba
The nachos was simple amazing! The cheese and chorizo were enough to enjoy up to the last bite! If you’re craving for some nachos but is on a budget, I recommend you to try this! The only thing is, the nacho cheese wasn’t hot as we expected it to be.

2. Chimichanga
Fried cheesy burrito! It’s actually my first time trying this particular Mexican dish. It’s similar to a burrito in many ways like having rice, veggies and meat only it was cheesier than I expected! It’s something familiar yet unique! The chimichanga wasn’t also that hot when served ☹️

Do I recommend? YES I DO! It’s worth the try if you’re a mexican food lover like me 😊

Went all the way to QC just to try La Carnita. I've heard good reviews regarding this restaurant and finally had the chance to try their famous "Nachos Ala Bomba". The Nachos were really worth it, you also get to see the server pouring the melted cheese with chili con carne on top of the Nachos. Mouthwatering isn't it? I've also tried their chicken meal which was, for me, better than Gringo's chicken. I actually thought that there would be a long line during a Saturday evening that is why we reserved beforehand, but when we arrived we were the only ones there. Overall, I would go back to La Carnita for their cheap and authentic Mexican Food. :)

We went here for a late lunch and to my surprise there weren't as much people as I was expecting. The place had this rustic vibe— the interiors were so on point and the lighting was also good. We ordered Carnitas Quesadilla and Chimichanga.

🧀 The Carnitas Quesadilla came in a big serving and it was SO delish I almost finished our order by myself!! The flour tortilla had the right amount of crisp, and the filling which was beef & a mixture of different cheese gave it a balanced texture. It was just really delightful that I'm already planning to order this again on my next visit! (Plus, when you dine during their happy hour, that's 2pm- 5pm, you'd get this for only P112 rather than it's original price of P150!! 💛 A REAL BANG FOR THE BUCK!)

🌯 The Chimichanga, which is a fried burrito, also had a generous amount of filling (and cheese) in it. You'd know when you eat it by hand cus it's indeed very heavy. 😅 You'll have that classic "cheese pull" when you bite on it and the experience was just amazing!!! It was also very tasty, a great twist on the typical burrito!

Their serving's definitely good for sharing, but I bet you could finish one by your own cus it's really flavorful!! You can also choose from 2 kinds of meat: beef or chicken. They also serve 3 kinds of sauces— chili, salsa, and the white one (which I think was ranch). The chili sauce had a real strong spicy kick, the ranch was a mild, tangy one, and the salsa tasted kind of plain.

I can't wait to be back nd try the other things on their menu!! 😊

My visit at La Carnita was very enjoyable. The place is relaxing and cool and I must say that many people enjoy their food because La Canita was jampacked when we visited. They offer various mexican food which I really enjoyed!

Nachos ala Bomba is La Carnita’s best-seller and must-try meal. It’s worth PHP 190. The hot cheese sauce is poured over the nachos upon serving. It’s
so cheesy! As in!

La Carnita gives its customers two meat choices(De Vaca Carnitas/Beef or El Pollo Espocio/Spiced Chicken) when ordering the following meals:

Chimichanga is a deep-fried burrito which costs PHP 190. This is a heavy meal for me but it’s so good!
Burrito Wrap (PHP 185)
Carnitas Quesadilla is worth PHP 160 and like the Nachos ala Bomba, this one’s so cheesy too! Perfect with the dip!

They also offer La Comida sets with smoked meat choices: chicken, ribs, and pork belly. You can also add sides and rice to this set. But these meal sets are only offered at the Katipunan branch.

Cheese, spice, and everything nice! La Carnita offers Mexican cuisine that's friendly on the budget but packs a punch in quelling your hunger pangs.

The Nachos ala Bomba is the best love story ever told! Imagine a bed of nachos being smothered in melted cheese, only to be garnished with even more cheese sauce! It was a total treat to relish in the experience of witnessing it being poured in front of you.

Their Chimichangas are deep-fried burritos that's really heavy and has, again, lots of cheese stuffed in it! It's served with different sauces and some veggies on the side.

Carnitas Quesadilla is another cheesy dish that sends you to food heaven in taste, texture, aroma, and delight. It was soft and a bit crunchy at the same time and kept you entertained thinking of what sauce to dunk it into. Definitely as must-try!

They also offer La Comida sets that are right on the price with the serving. It comes in choices of chicken, ribs, and pork belly. Sidings can also be picked or added to the set.

Overall, a good chill-out spot and definitely a place that satiates your cravings for cheesy goodness that's easy on the budget.

When we arrived the place only had a few people by lunch time the place was packed by students and passerby that surely enjoyed their food.

Here are the dishes we got to try:
Nachos ala Bomba (Php 195) this was the dish I tried at Food Hive and was happy to have had it again. Seeing the cheese poured over nachos was just a beautiful sight to see. I love have light and crispy their nachos were. A must try dish!

You’ll get two options for meat filling: Beef (De Vaca Carnitas) or
Spiced Chicken (El Pollo Espocio). Cheesy goodness!
Carnitas Quesadilla (Php 160)
Chimichanga (Php 190)
Burrito Wrap (Php 185)

Their La Comida sets have the smoked meat of choice. Choose if you prefer chicken, ribs or pork belly. Then you can just opt to have rice or additional sides.

We were given set B. It includes choice of smoked meat plus rice and one side.

From the La Comida meals with oh so tender meat, to the side dishes that are on point, to the Mango Brewed Iced Tea that just gets better and tastier even if left for sometime before you drink it, unlike some Iced Teas that taste bland after the ice melts. And the star, the famous Nachos a la Bomba!!!!! Oh my, A MUST TRY! Please don't deprive yourself of such a good dish!!! I would keep coming back for more just for this one. La Carnita is famous for their "Nachos ala Bomba". They are another success food park story and now they have their own stall and now serving slow smoked meats. What an inspiring story. La Carnita serves really good Mexican food with a modern twist that is adjusted to the Filipino taste. Honestly, after just one bite of our starting dish, we knew for sure that we’d always want to come back for more.

From passion to plate, here’s a list of some of the dishes that we were given the chance to try out:

La Comida B (Smoked Ribs) -4.5/5
Yummy ribs that were slow cooked for 4 hours! The meat really just fell off the bone! Their BBQ sauce was sweet and very well adjusted to the Pinoy taste. We also found the coleslaw side dish to be interesting as it had jalapenos in it. But for our review of this dish, we’d like to just take a moment to highlight their rice. One word – WOW! We found it to be so enjoyable because of the burst of flavors that we got from every bite! Can’t wait to give this dish another try again soon!

Nachos Ala Bomba -5/5
Our review of this is actually already in the name of the dish as we thought it was really “The Bomb”. Before munching on its goodness, guests actually get to watch the servers place the hot cheese on the nachos! It felt like we were watching an enjoyable little show when it was presented to us.

lt had a generous amount of different kinds of cheese that blended well together. The nacho chips were also wonderful as it wasn’t painfully thick, nor did it get soggy fast. It was like the perfect chip in our opinion. Like the chimichanga, the nachos were served with the same 3 sauces. We thought that the cucumber went best with this.

Tried this Mexican resto with close friends who usually dine in Mexican restors. We enjoyed our experience here because of the good food, great service and pleasing-to-the eyes place with an affordable price!

We each had a La Comida meal which would let you choose your own kind of meat, and type of rice. (Other meals would also let you choose sides.)

We also ordered their must-try Nachos ala bomba. We were first dismayed when the plain nachos were served because we thought there will just be sauces where we dip the plain nachos but actually the staff served the sauce with beef to the nachos straight from the pan! Would have been nice to take a video or picture of it but we were at awe.

The cheese and beef (and other pluses) are creamy all together. It was a delightful experience from getting the nachos - the cheese was stretching - to eating them! The only struggle we have here is the nachos being weaker than the togetherness of the cheese that we had to use fork to scoop the salsa instead then put on the nachos but it was all good. Btw, this can be shared by 2-3 persons.

Will definitely come back here again!

Went here because of an invitation from a friend. I wanted to try rice but I was still full so I opted for my Mexican usual and favorite, quesadillas. I got their quesadilla which had cheddar, mozzarella, onions and beef inside. You may opt to get another type of “carnita” (meat). The quesadilla was served with lettuce and two type of sauces - creamy cilantro and chili. The cheese, beef and tortilla all complemented each other, making the quesadilla really good and flavorful.

According to my friend who brought me here, La Carnita is ‘famous’ for their Nachos Ala Bomba. These are normal nachos topped with cheese and your choice of meat. What makes it special is that the cheese topping is only being placed on top of the nachos upon serving. What is fresh and hot, right?! This also definitely adds to the excitement before eating the dish. Our server was kind enough to let us prepare our phones for photo and video purposes before pouring the cheese over the nachos. The cheese topping was delicious, savory and had no cloying tendencies.

The place is a blockbuster during dinner time on weekends so be sure to come early or prepare to wait before you can get a table.

La Carnita offers excellent and affordable Mexican dishes at the heart of Katipunan. They once started as a food park then upped their game into the restaurant that they are now. During our crawl, I was able to partake of their signature dish: the Nachos ala Bomba. This humongous fill of nachos with piping hot mozzarella cheese dip and ground beef was akin to pizza, albeit with a Mexican twist. Upon eating, I found it to be a rich and fatty experience. The classy cheese dip was at par with the crunch of the nachos. Bite after bite was pretty addictive as I enjoyed the creamy and delightful combination of sweet and tangy flavors care of the silantro and other Mexican spices. Add to that a spicy dip, and I had a neat experience. I also tried their roast chicken dish with a variety of sides. They came packed with generous amounts of guacamole, sour cream, and spicy sauce for that wonderful Mexican taste. The rice was also pretty excellent due to its combination with a special sauce.

I would go back to La Carnitas for its excellent dishes and wonderful selections.

La Carnita is one of the best restaurants serving Tex-Mex dishes at its price point. By staying grounded to their vision of serving good quality food at prices that won't break the bank, La Carnita has become one of the few food park success stories. From being just one of many food stalls in The Food Hive in Tandang Sora, they have been able to open their restaurant in Katipunan where their target customers abound.

It is important to note that the food they serve is Tex-Mex - While most elements originated from Mexico, they were created for the American Taste. And that's neither a positive or a negative. It just is. It might actually be more of a positive because Filipinos aren't usually big on spice and heat.

Take for example their best-selling Nachos ala Bomba. I've been piqued by their Nachos ala Bomba since when I passed their stall several weeks ago where they have a monitor that plays back a loop of a video of how Nachos ala Bomba is served. It's impossible to not want it, what with all that ooey-gooey melted cheese and toppings. I couldn't quite imagine how they can afford to sell it for just Php 195.00, quite honestly.

Their Smoked Meats were very good too - flavorful and tender.  The Ribs was my favorite. Their smoked meats come with sides and they have quite some to choose from. Personally, I would go for the Grilled Elote and Jalapeno Coleslaw. Their Grilled Elote may not be the best, but I like the contrast in taste. I love cheese and cream and meat with fat, but together they can overwhelm so the different flavors of and the difference in flavor of the elote is a perfect compliment to the meats especially. Jalapeno Coleslaw needs no further explanation. I add jalapeno to anything it can be added to. I just love how some heat kicks the flavors and the experience up a knotch.

Very good service, nice, light, colorful interiors, a really friendly and inspiring owner make for an even better dining experience. This is my kind of binge eating.

So let's settle on this once and for all. Who wouldn't agree that they have the best tasting nachos in town? I, for a fact am a believer of this truth the moment I come face to face with this Nachos ala Bomba and lavished on its Nachos topped with grilled cheddar shavings, mozarella strings, la carnita cheese sauce, mexican beef, beans and cucumber salsa, and lots of lots of cheese! - oh I just love the so much cheese...

Moving on, I just want to say that they have a great interior, the modern cantina redefines itself when you enter the restaurant and I liked the open kitchen, you can just see how they prepare the food nice and clean.

Going back to the Nachos Ala Bomba, I would rate it 5/5. The presentation while the cheeses and the beef and salsa are being poured on top of the nachos is just heavenly. You need to eat it while it's hot though coz it really is enjoyable when you see the cheese strings while pulling the nachos. For only 195 Php, the serving size is good for 2-3 - isn't that even more amazing?

They also have other offers from the menu, On this branch, they have the rice meals that are also worth a try. They thought Filipinos love rice so this addition to the menu is really another attraction aside from their famous Nacho Ala Bomba.

They call these meals as "La Comida" or the slow smoked meat meals. You can choose from these 3 meats: Chicken, Ribs, and the Pork Belly to partner with your meal.

La Comida A is a choice of smoked meat and choice of rice
La Comida B is a choice of smoked meat, choice of rice and 1 side dish
La Comida C is a choice of smoked meat, choice of rice and 2 side dishes.

You have the option to add their Mango Brewed Tea on their meals.

Side dishes options: Grilled Elotes 5/5, Whipped Potato 5/5, Taco Salad 4/5, Triple Mac and Cheese 4/5 and Jalapeno Coleslaw 4/5

Choice of rice: Plain, Burrito and Garlic (Burrito is my favorito)

I'd rate the Ribs 5/5, Chicken 4/5 and the Pork Belly 4/5. The process of slow smoked makes the meat softer and it retains the juice inside. The outside of the meats looked great and everything were seasoned well and you have the option to add taste with their sauces.

One last but not the least that we tried was the Burrito Wrap or Chimichanga. All I can say is it's terrific!!! The fillings inside is so full of flavor and you also have the option to add flavor using their sauces.

Overall, I had a great experience that's why I'd give it a 5/5 rating. Truly is a gem at the Katipunan stretch worth your money to fill your tummy. Kudos!!

It's La Carnita Modern Cantina's second branch here in Quezon City. Newly built, the owner was even there and was very approachable.

I love their first ever grilled nachos, Nachos Ala Bomba was really a bomb. We've also tried their Smoked Meats: Pork Belly, Chicken and Ribs. Chimichanga is fried stuffed tortilla with bunch of goodness! Has rice, your own choice of meat, salsa and sour cream. All dips are homemade and are really tasty.

Did I mention that even their water has flavor? Yep, lemon infused! Healthy way to cleanse your palate huh?

Another comeback to this Cantina is definitely a must!

Famous for their nachos, La Carnita Modern Cantina founded their second and stand alone branch in Katipunan. Near Ateneo and Miriam College, most of their target customers were students so they provide fast service to cater the short breaks. Self service and claygo were also being practiced in the Cantina.

So down to our third stop, we indulged ourselves of the hereinafter:

Nachos Ala Bomba - Nachos covered with a blanket of grilled cheese (cheddar shavings, mozzarella strings and their signature La Carnita cheese sauce) beans and salsa.  Aside from beef, you can choose from spiced chicken, crispy pork or ox tongue.

Chimichanga - Tortilla stuffed with your own choice of meat plus rice, salsa, salad and  sour cream  and is deep fried. Dips are also homemade.

They also have meal combos which they call as La Comida. We had their ribs and chicken which were both slowly cooked you can tell simply by having a taste of it. Their meal combos has different fixings you can pick from. And again, your own preference from their homemade sauces.

Everything served is almost authentic Mexican food. Maybe because of the owner's, her boyfriend's and his family's love for anything Mexicano. They loved it so well that before they thought of establishing La Carnita, they frequent South America just so they can have their faves.

All-embracing, food was excellent. Not to mention they have their lemon water to cleanse your palate and your digestive tract. Also, a second try will definitely be something I will do for the Ala Bomba.

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican dishes, but La Carnita serves really good food! The place is popular for its nachos a la bomba, where freshly melted cheese is poured on the crisp nachos. Totally loved this place and will be back for sure!

The Nachos Ala Bomba is the best. We will surely go back for it.

Need more flavor for smoked chicken.

Ambiance was great but we waited for 45 min before we are able to park.

Hoping for more branches with much accessible location.

La Carnita should be awarded for having the best nachos in town. The Nachos a la Bomba is the number one reason people keep coming back to La Carnita. Their nachos (really the good kind, not the typical ones served everywhere else) is topped by a hot, ooey-gooey topping made from their chilli, mozzarella, cheddar, and their special La Carnita cheese. The video one news agency did on their nachos is now viral and rightly so. The nachos are really, really good. The topping makes for a really rich sauce that coats the nachos more than enough and it contrasts nicely with the nacho chips.

La Carnita also serves other meals for their customers. Their Chimichanga (deep fried burrito with rice , meat , salsa, salad and sour cream was very filling and enhanced by the different dips they also serve on the side (salsa, sour cream and a very spicy dip)

Those who want meats can try their pork belly, chicken or ribs which they can pair with different sides like grilled elote, taco salad, jalapeno coleslaw, whipped potato and triple mac and cheese.

On a nice note, you can see La Carnita’s commitment to quality with their clean open kitchen and service water with lemon slices. Aside from being refreshing, the lemon water also helps you cleanse your palate, a nice touch when eating very heavy food. It’s these little touches that make a restaurant worth coming back to and I definitely will.

La Carnita is a modern Mexican restaurant that is famous for their nachos, tacos ,burritos, chicken wings and slow cooked meats. La Carnita restaurant is located at the second floor ,Regis Building ,Katipunan Avenue , Loyola Heights within Quezon City .

The restaurant boast of Mexican-inspired modern setting with colorful machuca tiles which serve as a wall decor and counter table.

Machuca tiles are hand-painted cement tiles with Mexican and Hispanic geometric patterns. While the wrought iron bars were re-adapted into ceiling decors. Plastic cati plants are also reminiscent of Mexican flora.

Most of the dishes are for sharing and ideal between two to four persons. The menus and dishes are well posted. The restaurant also have a complimentary cold water within lemon which cleanse the palate before and after eating .

Nachos ala Bomba ( Php 195) serve the nacho chips and the cheese separately, and they pour the melted oozing cheese over the chips.

It is recommended that the nachos be eaten within five minutes of its serving time, before the cheese hardens. It is a combination of mozzarella, cheddar, and their special La Carnita cheese.

These nachos are not your regular bar nachos where some ordinary cheese dip or grated cheese that are sprinkled on top of the chips. One can also add chilies if they wanted a more spicy taste.

Chimichanga is a deep fried burrito with rice , meat , salsa, salad and sour cream . All the dipping sauces and ingredients are based on home made recipes and made upfront.

La Comida Meals are slow smoked cooked meats, they are marinated with spices. The meals are available in chicken , pork belly and ribs . Depending on the set menus, One can choose from Set A,B and C.

The pork ribs or pork belly are well marinated with side dishes like sweet corn and creamy cheese. Mexican rice topped with coriander leaves. Side dishes may also includes grilled elote, taco salad, Jalapeno coleslaw, whipped potatoes and triple mac and cheese.

Our eating saga continues, and we just stormed a newly opened resto' - a fine addition to the city's plethora of semi fine-food outlets. This is for those craving in modern mexican-american dishes at a friendly rate. Sanitized, strategic and with temperature-controlled environment.

But mind you, if you genuinely aiming for a flat stomach, this place isn't for you. Dishes comes in a sizeable portion suited for sharing.

For a starter, Nachos a la Bomba ticks and explodes in the mouth.

La Cartina is a haven for foodies and for exclusive school students of the neighboring Ateneo & Miriam.  The place is also game for athletes with their big-sized servings of nacho combos.

The burrito rice strikes to me as the most noteworthy. the spice and saltiness merges perfectly to my palate. A complete meal itself so a viand on the side is just a bonus.  Cold lemon water in a see-through mason jar is self-service, unlimited, and most importantly FREE. Far more healthier than sodas.

The resto is situated on a 2nd level; hence the panoramic view of a modern town and swaying of  tree leaves are  see through from the transparent wall. Scenic  and provides a more relaxing ambiance.

The chemistry it generates with new customers would sure to go a long way

Dining experience with a touch of art. One of the winner for me.

I've tried their Burrito Platter and La Comida (chicken) on different visits. Their meals are flavorful, well-portioned, and reasonably priced. You can't help but request a refill of their nice-tasting dips too. So don't be surprised if you'll find this dining place full during lunchtime. It's definitely a hit at Regis.

I'm sure that this will be the kind of restaurant that you'll be willing to come back over and over again. The ambiance of the place is pretty chill. Their service is great and fast!!

When you visit this place you should definitely try their Nachos a la bomba, and I swear the name fits the taste of the nachos. It's MUST order when you visit La Carnita. You should ready your phones when they serve it in front of you, you'll know why once you visit 😉

My next favorite is their chimichanga, it's freaking delicious I promise!! There's lots of cheese inside and you'll love it!

You should also try their smoked meats such as pork belly, chicken and ribs! It tastes good, the meat is tender and cooked perfectly. Also the sweetness of it are okay. There sides are also okay, they offer grilled elote, taco salad, TRIPLE MAC & CHEESE and many more.

I've been to The Food Hive and you'll see their stall but they are stall why there are people going back to The Food Hive. People travel North to South just to try their nachos a la bomba.
Now they opened their 2nd branch with their small space but still can cater several people. At this branch, they served Slow Smoked Meats.
Nachos a la Bomba with their very super duper cheesy on top of the nachos for only 195 pesos is really worth it. Served with 3 dips.
Smoke Meats: Pork Belly, Chicken, and Ribs. served with Grilled Elote, taco salad, Jalapeño Coleslaw, Whipped Potato and Triple Mac & Cheese.
Chimichangas, to my surprise it's not a soft shell chimichangas. It's fried that's why the cheese inside is melted with rice and beef. It also served with dips and coleslaw.
They also served House Blend Iced tea but If you're not drinking flavored drink they have a self-service Lemon Water.

If you are a fan of their Nacho Ala Bomba, then this resto needs no further introduction. Bringing their street cred to the streets of Katipunan, La Carnita is the newest kid on the block, serving out more than their ever famous dish.

The place was a bit small to be honest but can sit several diners. Dining in large groups like fifteen or more can be quite a challenge but well, they can still fit in. They are serving lemon water as service water to customers, which helps out in cleaning the palette so this is a big plus. Another big factor was the crew's hospitality so a big kudos to them.

And now for the food. Yes, how crazy we are to go here without trying the nachos... OF COURSE WE TRIED IT! But most of us know probably on how it is. If you haven't tried it yet, go and try it. Period.

The Chimichangas was really good IMHO. The melted cheese, the savory rice and the beef inside really makes it one of my favorites. They are also offering rice meals that most students are craving for. They have Chicken, Ribs, and Pork to choose from. All of them were well seasoned and the meat were tender. Take note that the rice meals are only available to this branch.

All in all, La Carnita is one of the better joints that I really enjoy eating in. I am definitely going back to try out their other Mexican dishes.

Our interest with La Carnita Modern Mexican, indeed, started with their Nachos a la Bomba. However, there are more reasons for us to keep coming back with their chimichanga, la comida, homemade sauces, and other menu items. It's also the perfect restaurant for cheese lovers like us since they are generous with it. Knowing also the inspiring story of Ms. Aisa, the owner, and, not to mention, she is hands-on with the business, made us patronize La Carnita more.

La Carnita... Never fails when it comes to delivering that mouth-watering Nachos a la Bomba which is really excellent for group snacks considering the price is affordable for that amount of nacho goodness. They have this branch at Katipunan which is a bit different from their food park branch in Visayas ave. They serve chicken and ribs there, which I personally have to give plus points because most of us know that there are a lot of students in that area and it gives them another option where they can have good food. As for their food there, I like the ribs, as it was tender for me and sauce's sweetness is okay. I wish the serving of the sides could be more, but not a deal breaker for me. And while you're at it, try their chimichanga as well. But of course, Nachos a la Bomba FTW!

It was our 3rd stop....and our third  rib place ? You could almost hear the collective groan of  protest (?) hahaha. But then again this is La Carnita. See that  sign up there? It says 'slow smoked meats'. La Carnita is actually all over social media  for its "Nachos ala Bomba".  It is such a hit, clones are coming out of the woodwork. Shame on you copy cats. Get your own original idea.

Overall rating: 3.25

This restaurant is in soft opening phase, so I expected the usual gaps in food availability and service. I went in for the slow-cooked BBQ pulled pork but was told that all it had was grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was okay, and the three dips that were served with the meal were actually really good. Portion size was small, and service was slow even with half a dozen people in the kitchen. Also, I requested whipped potatoes as one of my two sides, but was served the mac 'n cheese instead. When I asked the server to replace it, the server politely told me that my tape receipt indicated my order was mac 'n cheese and not whipped potatoes, and then quickly retreated behind the counter. To be fair, I enjoyed the mac 'n cheese--the pasta was al dente and well-coated with cheese sauce.

Sooo glad they opened a branch in Katipunan! We have been wanting to visit La Carnita in Visayas Ave. but Katipunan is more accessible. The Nachos ala Bomba did not disappoint and to our delight is ever as cheesy as advertised! I think I burned my tongue in my impatience to devour the cheese in its melted state. The nachos is good for 2-3 persons and is very filling. I almost didn't have space enough to taste their other dishes.

We also ordered La Comida B - Chicken (B is with one side dish). The side dish I chose was their grilled elotes. I loved that there are various sauces to their dishes and that it's refillable!

The staff are very pleasant and are able to explain their dishes well and make recommendations.

Overall, the experience was so delightful that I visited the place twice on their opening week.

I just wish they had more copies of the menu so you wouldn't have to wait until you get to the cashier to decide on what you'll be ordering. And also, I wish they wouldn't use plastic for their sauces. Everything we ordered came with 3 sauces in plastic containers and it's just too much plastic for one order. I wish they'd use reusable dishes in the future. 😁

Check out our episode on La Carnita here: tinyurl.com/ShetLaCarnita

Nachos ala Bomba
La Carnita is famous for their Nachos ala Bomba. Here, they serve the nacho chips and the cheese separately, and they pour the melted oozing cheese over the chips. It is recommended that the nachos be eaten within five minutes of its serving time, before the cheese hardens. It is a combination of mozzarella, cheddar, and their special La Carnita cheese.

These nachos are not your regular bar nachos where some ordinary cheese dip or grated cheese are sprinkled on top of the chips. These are gourmet chips -- and the best kind. The taste of the cheese on top is not too strong, leaving some room to appreciate the crunchiness of the nacho chips.

The serving is great. For P195, the big plate of nachos can be shared by a group of four or five people, as an appetizer to the other great dishes La Carnita has to offer.

Soft Taco
Their soft taco was probably one of the “okay” dishes, but it was still a good eat. It had a good balance of beef and vegetables which allowed the meat to really stand out as it was pretty juicy on its own. The problem here was with the white sauce and the spicy sauce that can be added based on your preference. They felt a bit too watered down and so even few amounts of it made the taco a bit soggy. Nonetheless, the taco still tasted well.

Carnitas Quesadilla
The carnitas quesadilla has some meat and caramelized onions, and the same oozing cheese as the nachos. The cheese is constant all throughout. The beef is present, and is full of flavor, but the /bida/ of this dish is really the cheese. And even though there is so much cheese in the dish, its flavor is not too strong.

Ribs
The ribs is part of their new offers of La Comida combos. We tried the Ribs Combo B, which comes with a bowl of rice (burrito rice) and a side dish (elote corn for us).

The flavor of the ribs are to the bones! Even when you eat the inner meat (not the outer layer), you can experience the exquisite flavor of the dish. The flavor has a dash of everything -- not too sweet, not too much on the barbecue flavor, but you know it’s there.

The tenderness of the ribs was perfect, as well, because you can easily separate all of the meat from the bones without having a hard time.

The burrito rice, which was tomato-based, was alright. It complements well with the flavor of the viand, though we’re pretty sure that any kind of rice will go well with the great flavor of the ribs.

The cob of elote corn, our side dish, was super sweet. Brushed with butter and other ingredients, the flavor of the corn is present even when all of the kernels are gone.

Cost-wise, its price is around P250, which is over a student’s budget, but looking at the generous serving of the slab of ribs, you know that you’re getting your money’s worth.

Iced Tea
Their iced tea is personally made. They do not use powdered iced tea, and they blend every glass individually to give each glass the foamy top. It is oolong tea based which makes it quite different from other homemade iced teas.

Overall, La Carnita is another great addition to the Katipunan stretch, with generous servings, flavorful dishes, and student-friendly prices.

The "La Comida" Combo's offer a great opportunity to sample how tasty the slow-smoked meats are. Very tasty and very tender. I tried the liempo option with the side dish if "Jalapeno Coleslaw." Really great. And the jalapenos were pickled just right.

A must order: the very popular "Nachos Ala Bomba" (the first ever grilled nachos) and their quesadillas (either plain or with carnitas).
