It was my first time,so i asked for recommendations.The counter suggested the original chicken with spicy bbq sauce,and i ordered for the nestea blue.Well,the name of the resto really suits the food.Large chicken,hot bbq chicken.Well if you are not into spicy food,the spicy bbq is not for you.It made me sweat for a minute,though it's delicious.The gravy was good,but would suggest to add more gravy or maybe bottomless gravy because the chicken was big.Next time i'll try the chicken with cheese,it's their new item.What i don't like was the cartilage and some bones on the chicken.But overall experience was 5 stars,would recommend this to chicken lovers.

Chicken portion is big. π The quality is always consistent and the prices are fair.
If you want to order the large size, make sure you order just the original flavor. Nakakaumay yung ibang mga flavors pag malaki yung portion. Otherwise, it's a good buy.
Kung nag cacrave ka sa chicken at tinatamad ka mag himay. Well ito ang restaurant para sqyo. Sobrang laki nung manok nilq pwed3 mag hati ang dalawa. Ung lasa yes ok naman masarap sya. Lalo na kapag nilagyan mo gravy. Kung ito nagin u lirice for sure mapapadami ka nang kanin dahil malaki ang ulam!
Although masarap naman yung chicken, mas trip ng family yung fish in bbq sauce. Mas convenient pa kainin kasi no bones, lol.
We made a mistake lang of ordering the fish and fries, tastes like stale oil π£
Free ice cream din with every combo meal. You have to choose nga lang between Black Gulaman and White Almond flavor! π
the overall place, food and staff is very nice but the upper floor is quite hot, I think they didn't turn on the airconditioner in that time.

It's not my first time to try this restaurant, the chicken is still good, I ordered it in Chili and in original. The service was just okay, nothing special and the ambiance was very colorful and stuff. Well all hot star are like that π
Still amazed on this chicken. It's yummy and I can't really argue on the price. This is a nice take on fried chicken π

Me and my Mahal were here yesterday. The first time i tried hot star was 2 years ago. Chicken still taste the same and still big! I love it! My Mahal has braces so he wasnt able to really enjoy the chicken hehe But yeah for me i love it. Was not able to take pictures though because we were in a hurry.
One of the fast food chain that i'll always go back to, over and over again! Im not a fan of chicken but there's always an exception. Love their crispy large fried chicken that you can share with a friend! πTheir chicken is flavorful and the crispiness of their breading is a great match and they have unlimited gravy too!
I wanted to give them a 5 but whenever i ate there i noticed that it always take them a lot of time before they clean up tables and also they have a weak air conditioning system in the second floor.
Over-all experienced: good (a bit biased) haha π€£π food is great, place is okay!

Hotstar celebrated National Chicken Day last Thursday, July 6, 2017 by offering their famous large chicken chop at a discount. From 149pesos down to 99pesos. All flavors included. Offer is only good for the a la carte orders and not for set meals. The original variant was crispy and plump. Took home the BBQ and sweet & sour flavors. There were no lines, place was clean. Front staff was very friendly.
The place was clean. It has electrical plugs besides most of their tables which allow their customers to charge their phones while dining. The food was really good. It was able to satisfy our hungers. Plus the service water is a mineral one which makes it drinkable. Lol.
Hot Star Eastwood has a cool interior and of course large Fried Chicken π
I've been here twice, but I don't have pictures during my first visit.
I am a chicken lover. I believe that I can eat a lot of chicken in just one sitting. I am happy that they have hot star now near our place. One of which is at Eastwood. I can't forget the large piece of chicken they served us. If you want to try chiken but craving for something new try hot star.
Food choices is limited since the Large Fried Chicken is their specialty. But I ended up ordering the Junior Crispy Fish while my husband got the Crispy Chicken. I guess I was too hungry then 'coz I completely forgot to take pictures of the food. Verdict: they actually just tasted the same because of the breading. I also find the food too oily (everything's deep fried) so I'm not sure if I'll dine there again. They have more seats upstairs but it was kind of hot when we went there so we just opted to sit at the ground floor.
If you're a large fried chicken lover, Hot Star is the perfect place for you. By its chicken size and the choices of flavors that they offer, I'm pretty sure you'll never regret going into this place. π

Eastwood is such a haven for those seeking a gastric orgasm. There are numerous establishments that offer a plethora meals. These establishments also offer an array of international dishes from Viet (Pho Hoa), Mexican (Chicken Peri Peri), Korean (Bon Chon, Ho Bing and Kyochon although it has already been closed), American (TGI Fridays), Japanese (Sambokojin although it also offers Korean dishes) to our beloved Filipino dishes (Mesa, Buddy's). There's never a lack of choices here.
For this time around, I'll be stepping away from my normal Korean craving. This review is about Hot Star Large Fried Chicken, a Taiwanese establishment. Taiwanese culture has found its way to the Filipino hearts when F4 and Barbie Zhuo in Meteor Garden made a sensational run in the local TV scene.
Not to lose focus, here's my take on Hot Star.
Food. 4/5
For my first time I had the original chicken served with the ice crush black gulaman. When my order got served, I was immediately overwhelmed by how humongous the friend chicken was. They certainly weren't joking when they said LARGE FRIED CHICKEN! One cup of rice is certainly not enough! The chicken itself was tasty, even the barbecue one I had the second time I was here. However, the chicken wasn't succulent. It was a tad too dry for my taste. Nonetheless I enjoyed the large fried chicken that I had another cup of rice be served. After the meal, I was very full!
The black gulaman was ordinary, at least not too sweet. If you intend to try Hot Star, do try also their French fries. It's a winner!
Ambiance. 4/5
Consisting of two floors, the establishment is quite spacious with enough leg room to wiggle around the place. If it's Instagrammable? Nope, aesthetically it's just your round of the mill place. Ordinary but comfortable.
Service. 4/5
The staff were friendly. However, serving the food took a bit too long even though there was a small number of diners.

For the portion of the chicken, the price is justified. It is not too pricey.
Weβve been to Hot Star before and have tried the Large Fried chicken and the regular fried chicken and both enjoyed them. And then, third timeβs the charm. We went there on a regular day and decided to review it this time. By the way, Hot Star is located on the 2nd floor of Eastwood Citywalk along the long line of restaurants there.
I love everything about Hot Star. To be honest, I expected their chicken to be a bit more peppery -- that's what I liked about the fillet I tried in Taipei -- but the taste and crunch of their local version is perfect for the Pinoy palate. Read more about Hot Star on my blog :) goo.gl/XqOm6w
This is one of my favorite ever! It was already part of my routine to eat here once or twice a week. Their chicken is soo big and the best! They offer chicken and fish with different flavors. They also have gulaman flavored ice cream and drinks. Their store was up until late midnight so its very convenient for night shift people.. Hooray to their staff because they're were so friendly and accommodating! Very worthy of your money!

Yes, I have been to Taiwan, and yes, these large pieces of chicken are normal there, as these are street foods. My boss wanted to go to Hot Star today because she was craving for chicken. I tried Hot Star once before here (locally), but didn't like it. I felt it was too dry. I went along with my boss and tried to order something that might change my mind. I ended up ordering their original large chicken, this time with spaghetti because I love spaghetti. Haha!
Unfortunately, the spaghetti was a wrong move. I wasn't happy. For an additional P65, I get a drink and a side dish-size of a pasta. It wasn't anything special as well...just noodles, some sauce, and some pieces of chicken meat. Not worth it. The chicken, however, was good. It was tender, moist, had good crunch, and flavorful. I enjoyed it, thus the rating. I also tried their Black Gulaman Slush which is okay, something different.
First the place is full of happy colors which brings out the goodvibes in me.
Food is also good plus the serving is pretty big as well. The Large Fried Chicken is the Bomb ! 12 Inches Chicken with your choice of flavor for only 145 pesos plus Chicken Skin is also available !!
A Must Visit especially those with kids who loves Chicken !

There are times when I just want to be indoors and not to leave my air conditioned room for days. And then I'll realize how expensive that will be. (I hate being an adult.) So a cheaper alternative is to head out and buy ice cream. Make that a gallon or two.
I remember one instance when I felt like my skin was melting and it was just January then! I was in Eastwood that time looking for a place to have dessert. I spotted Hot Star and remembered that they sell really affordable sundae cones. I dragged my sister with me and we immediately ordered a cone each. I got Black Gulaman while my sister got Almond (PHP15 per cone).

That was my reaction when i first saw the size of this humongous fried chicken. I love it here. I love their crispy BBQ chicken and their unli gravy. π this will truly satisfy your craving for friend giant chicken. π
The original flavor was bland while their Bbq flavor was good. their gravy taste like kfc mushroom soup! *haha* rated it 4 because the place was so clean. ππ»

Hearing a story that their fried chicken inspired a group of friends have a vacation trip in Taiwan, I looked forward to trying their items. A few branches have already popped up in the Metro so it's not hard to see one of their branches. If you love fried chicken then this would be the place for you. The menu isn't that plenty and only a little variety for customers to choose from. They also have desserts to complete your indulgent meal.
Our meal consisted only of the Original with Red Hot flavor with an order of extra sticky rice. It was a wise decision on our part since it was indeed a large fried chicken. I would imagine that only a person with a large appetite can finish one order.
I liked the flavor of the chicken and the gravy supplements the yum factor. honestly, even without the condiment the chicken is still a treat to eat. Apart from the flavor I like how lean the chicken is and definitely packed with protein. Even if i share the one pc chicken with my girlfriend we still left that place with full stomachs. Hot star might be categorized as a fast food stop but it sure is a cut a above the typical ones with their flavor, portion and price.
I love their Spicy BBQ Chicken! It really is big, and the rice is small :( I wish they would offer unli rice. The chicken skin is also good, 2 (or was it 3?) big sticks for 45.
I super duper love their huge chicken! It's yummy yet affordable. It can be actually shared by two people.. For only 175 pesos you can have their huge chicken, rice and drink. You can choose the sauce or flavor that you want for your chicken. Mine was barbecue flavor and twas okay. Oh I forgot, they have unlimited gravy too! :) the place is clean and cozy. I will definitely visit again this place! It must be love at first bite! :)

Must try fast food resto. If you're super hungry and craving for chicken, you should try eating here. Their xxl sized dish will make you order another extra rice and another extra rice. Deep fried chicken fillet is well cooked, crispy, and served hot. Gravy (rice gravy) is available for refill, so no need to line up at the counter to ask. Drinks are not limited to sodas, as they also have black gulaman and almond milk slush.Β

Β I went to Hot Star a few weeks back when it just opened with officemates. Everyone was curious as it was the new place around and we thought to try it out. Atmosphere upon arriving was as expected of a new place in Eastwood at lunch time -- neat, clean and a lot of people.
I honestly expected a lot from a place that looked very similar to Bon Chon and its offerings, and boasted having good chicken, so I ordered what they claimed was their best seller -- the BBQ Large Fried Chicken meal that came with a rice and drink.
The service time was quick enough, and soon, we got our food. To our amazement, the chicken was around 3 times bigger than the rice it was served with. We thought that the price of P150-ish was worth it...
...until we took a bite. Reaction: It was okay. Crispy, had a salt and pepper flavor, good enough on the inside, but it lacked any real impact even with the sauce. Out of all of them, I think I got the better deal because I HAD the sauce to begin with.
Overall, the experience and atmosphere is good, but it fades after 2 visits. If you're like me and love a good juicy chicken with a strong flavor to it regardless of the size, then you're better off eating elsewhere. If you're not picky though and just want something that's worth its size in value, then go for Hot Star.

Chicken cravings satisfied with this ginormous portion of chicken breast from Hot Star! Located at Eastwood City Walk, you definitely won't miss the eye candy blue loft type restaurant. Their service is quick and to get a seat and table is not gonna be a problem as they have ample space especially at their 2nd floor.
My favorite is the BBQ Chicken Teriyaki because it gives extra flavor to the juicy chicken portion.
For an additional P20, I also upgraded my drink to gulaman shake. A perfect alternative to soda in this tropical weather!
After church, cousins and I had decid d to eat something different. I have seen the stire a lot whilewalking around citywalk1, so I asked my cousins if we could try hot star chicken and without further explanation they said, "Yes" we order original chicken. I didn't expect their chicken is seriously big, ended us up not able to eat it all up. Chicken is ok though there is this "umay" factor for me. It's a "soso" place to eat for me.
Super busog and yummy! Love their food and I will come back here for more! But I suggest, sana magkaron kayo ng washroom. Lol.. (I don't like their bbq sauce it's too sweet kaumay) but all in all, thumbs up! π
It took a while for our food to be served. As all reviews here say, their chicken is HUGE. But I will call it mutant chicken just to be different. There's not much difference in price range versus other well known chicken places like KFC and Bon Chon. So the great amount of food you'll be getting is worth every penny.
The size and taste of the chicken are still amazing. Tried this out first in Katipunan and I loved it. The soft serve ice cream and the ice crushers are yummy as well.
Been here a couple of times and I just can't get enough of the hugeness and taste of their chicken. I don't care if I eat their chicken all day. gotta have an empty hungry tummy when you're gonna eat here! π

I rated one of their branches before a 4.0 but, their Eastwood branch is one of a kind. We all know that Eastwood is filled with Corporate Offices and BPO companies so having a great customer service is a must. Their cashier staff, Ate Eunice, was really polite and honest that they do not have a change for 500pesos. I said they can give me the change later. And she gave me my change after 30minutes with a smile. Anyway, with the food. Their chicken is soft and chunky. I also like their rice gravy because it is not greasy/oily at all. I also like their interiors (because I am really a frustrated interior designer). Their interiors represents how cool the restaurant is.
I've been to Hot Star on three separate occasions and I wouldn't mind coming back. The serving size is no joke. Two people can share a piece and be fully satisfied. Dial down your expectations when it comes to the taste, though, because it will not blow your mind like the size usually does. The taste borders on the generic. You may be able to manage something similar from store-bought fried chicken mixes. I don't mind because I like my fried chicken with no frills.
Note: Their large fried chicken comes in crispy and spicy varieties and starts at 110Php plus 20Php for each cup of rice. Comes with unlimited gravy. πππΌ
Big chicken for big appetite! I actually love that the flavor isn't that strong as some would stay it isn't really tasty. Then I suppose it depends on the taste buds but MY taste buds say it is awesome! Size is perfect for a big eater like me. I'm coming back for more!

Their Mushroom Soup tasted very similar to Knorr's Mushroom Soup. Imagine the disappointment! It left a very bad and damaging impression. Their BBQ Large Fried Chicken and Chicken Skin however made us change our mind. It was really good and such a bargain for its price. Great meal for students and most people on a budget.
You need your big mouth for the BIG CHICKEN. π hot star chicken can make your tummy feel satisfied becuse of the big part of chicken with a small bone with an affordable price also. And I really want to go back again to eat BIG Chicken for my Big Tummy π

Say Ahhhh!! Hot Star Chicken is already here!! The No. 1 Taiwan Large Fried Chicken.. I thought the chicken was just the typical big size, but when I saw it,, I just say "WOW ang Laki", I Ordered the not spicy Crispy chicken,,,I thought I wont finish it, but I was wrong! its so good that you want to eat that all and that feeling that you dont want to share :)) My best friend ordered their Original Chicken.. This two have distinct taste. So it's you who will decide which one taste good.. For me I like my order more than the other.. You will be asked if the chicken you will be ordering will be spicy or not.. For the drinks I ordered lemonade- the blue one and my best friend ordered softdrink.
Aside from the fact that their fooood has goooood tastes. It is indeed very big. Most of the time me and my friend share with one big chicken. Aside from their food, their eastwood branch has a good ambiance.
The size of the chicken did not disappoint. It was so big to the point na medyo freaky na 'cause who knows where the hell those chickens came from!!! (I googled it, apparently the chicken breast was just cut and pounded to make it extra extra big but it's safe)
Anywayyy the chicken was tasty and flavorful. I liked the BBQ chicken the most because I love BBQ flavor but the other two were also good. However, since the chicken was so big mej nakakasawa na yung taste halfway through the meal...

The chicken is really huge! But if you order it as a meal with rice and drink the rice is serving would be like serving for babies. Chickens were good but as you eat it, you'll get "umay" before you finish your chicken. But its good.
The chicken is really big. Very big!!! The people/staff are also accommodating. Must try!!! For only 135php - it comes with rice and drink. Tip : Rice is kinda expensive so you might wanna bring your own rice to satisfy your rice and chicken cravings π.
Tried this outlet in Eastwood to know if it was like the store in Kowloon HongKong when I had my vacay there. It was quite a different experience. Yes, the chicken was huge but not so tasty like in Hot Star HK. They served rice and gravy. They have paper bags and paper wrappers for take out. Self-service is a plus here!

I don't like the spices used for this chicken.
It's very different. They said it is only pepper and salt but I think they've added other than those - a secret ingredient perhaps.

i was amazed when our intern told me that it was big... so we tried it... i like the original fried chicken but my friends were disappointed with the bbq fried chicken... 110php + 35php for the drinks ang rice.. sorry forgot to picture the menu...
People are loving this place. The best bbq chicken in town. Large chicken at an affordable price. Would definitely visit this place again. Kudos, Hot Star!
They murdered Big Bird from Sesame Street! haha They offer XXXXXXXXXL fried chicken with different flavors to satisfy your craving for fried chicken! They also offer UNLIMITED rice gravy. Try it guys! Its very affordable and delicious.
Hot Star Chicken's chicken is really HUGE. Their posters that show statements like "XXXXL - Chicken" are legit. And for only P110.00 for a XXXXL Chicken part, why not? Hot Star Chicken is something I have never encountered before. Their chicken is not bad and they REALLY have a XXXXL chicken. Tired of trading your small chicken parts to big chicken parts every time you dine at a restaurant/fastfood chain? Then I suggest that you go eat at Hot Star, cos' I don't think you would be complaining of getting a "small part". Don't believe me? Then go see for yourself.
OMG sobrang lake!!! Wag na kayog mag rice... lalo na extra rice. Kase kukulangin yun. Gusto ko yung libreng sundae if you post your selfie with the chicken. Syempre selfie lang naman, so we tried it. Parang d n nga nila na double check qng may selfie talaga. We just said we are going to claim the free sundae. Nwei. We got our sundaes. I orderred black gulaman sundae. Beat that. Quite unique flavor. All in all, tummy satisfied. #HotStarPH
