One of the best veg restaurants in the country. The food is always excellent. Even if I am from the South, I go here for their satay bbq, tocino, burrito, danggit, among others. So good!

I had a vegan guest at my wedding about a month ago. My caterer had no vegan options and most vegetarian/vegan establishments weren't willing to deliver to my wedding venue. I was so happy that The Vegetarian Kitchen was willing to accommodate us. I ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, a salad, bibimbap, lengua, and the dark chocolate cake for my guest. I got in touch with guest after the wedding and he said absolutely loved his meal. Thank you so much!

Being vegan in the Philippines is tough and I thought I may have to live off French fries for the whole of my trip, that was until we found The Vegetarian Kitchen! We ended up treating ourselves and ordered Mac n' cheese balls, BBQ chicken sub and fried chicken and gravy and all of it was absolutely beautiful! It's a lovely little cafe and the prices are reasonable! Will be back again tomorrow before we leave the city!

The place is small and there are limited tables inside. However it is a hidden gem along Mother Ignacia St. The food is great especially if you want to be healthy. We ordered the tocino and the meat, which is made from vegetable protein, really tasted like tocino meat. We also ordered the bibimbap which is kinda spicy yet satisfyingly delicious. The lemon basil creamy pasta is great as well. If you're looking for something healthy this restaurant is the perfect place for you. The only problem here is the parking. You have to be lucky enough because you'll just have to park your car on the side of the road.

Oh my god, I felt like crying when I had the batchoy. I don't even remember the last time I had batchoy and their vegan batchoy was so good!!!! Also had the bibimbap, which was amazing - the mix of flavors was interesting and so good, I almost wanted to lick the bowl clean!

Definitely one of my new fave vegan restos 💕

I have desired to visit The Vegetarian Kitchen for the longest time now, and finally I was able to -- with a meat-loving, vegan-bashing group. When they tasted the food, nonetheless, they were amazed at how delicious our they were! Looking forward to sampling the other menu items. 😃🍽

We had:
Salad
Bibimbap
Caldereta
Burger and fries
Matcha Cake
Fish Teriyaki with Soba

What I liked most is their bibimbap. Not a fan of the matcha cake, however.

Still reminiscing TVK's Caldereta. Yum. I've also tried the Bibimbap, Satay BBQ, and Tocino. The tocino - I'd avoid. But everything else? God bless 'em - TVK's chef and owner is a magician, I tell ya.

Hard truth: When you are a healthy eater, it’s very difficult to find restaurants that offers quality yet affordable dishes. So, when I stumbled upon this restaurant I can’t help but leap in joy not only it is affordable but it is tasty and made of love and awesome goodness. We ordered the following:

1. Crispy Tofu Skin - Very tender and tasty. Good pica-pica while waiting for the main dish. The serving size is good for 2-3 pax.

2. Mixed Fruit and Vegetable Salad - The dressing is yum! My only concern is that the proportion of fruits to the vegetable is so little. Serving size is good for 1.

3. Classic Caldereta - Super yum!! Serving size is quite big. I can eat this all day every day!

4. Lengua in Mushroom Sauce - Another super yummy dish! I greatly recommend it. Beats the usual lengua plus it’s healthy.

Service and Accommodation - The staff are courteous and very attentive. There’s a homey vibe in the restaurant that makes it a very chill and perfect place to dine with your family and friends.

I was super excited and happy to visit this place as it was a vegetarian one !
We were trying to locate the vegetarian food since long and we got this.
I must say staff was really helpful and acknowledging.
Ambience was pretty soothing and food was a great in taste.
I called for tomato and basil soup which tasted really good and the pasta !
We really enjoyed the evening here :)
Certainly shall recommend my troop to visit this place and enjoy their range of cuisines they serve.

Food - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Price - 5/5
Service - 5/5

Tucked in an unlikely and inconspicuous section of Mother Ignacia street, The Vegetarian Kitchen boasts hearty, healthy, and all-vegetarian eats — ranging from starters, sandwiches, plates, and even soy, caffeine-free coffee with a dark chocolate cake for dessert!

🍴FOOD:
I ordered the vegan Korean Bibimbap (P245), an all-time favorite at their joint, since I was craving for a rice meal (the burger looked mighty tasty though). When the bowl came, it was served with spicy kimchi in a saucer. The servings were big! The bibimbap was delicious, having rightful servings of vegan meat, greens, cucumbers, nori seaweed, carrots, mangoes, and shredded lettuce. These were all served as topping for Korean rice. This was so good! ❤️

👤 SERVICE:
The service was excellent! The food was served in a jiffy, and the waiter was quick to refill my glass of water every time I ran out without me asking for it. I drink lots while eating and usually encounter problems with water refills at other restos, but Kuya was definitely on point! The bill was served quickly as well when we asked for it.

✨AMBIENCE:
The place was quaint, homey, and straight to the point. There were separate tables for groups and a couch area. It’s not recommended for large groups, but intimate lunches and dinners. There was a decent wifi connection and sockets!

Overall, I would definitely come back and try their other dishes! Good job, TVK. See you again soon! ❤️

Great choice of vegetarian/vegan options as there are not only rice meals but appetisers, “Filipino breakfasts” and many other dishes. Includes faux-meat dishes as well as pre-packed take-away dishes to easily cook at home. The only downside is that there is no parking for this restaurant.

I’d recommend this restaurant to both meat eaters and veg-eaters alike.

Being our first time to try out this restaurant, we were clueless as to where the restaurant was located.

When we saw that there was no parking space available, my dad almost backed out, but since I was determined to let them try vegetarian food, I went down and asked where we could park. The owner kindly went out and helped us park the car on the other side of the street and reassured us that it was safe to park there since it was already late at night.

The restaurant was really colourful and homey. We were served with lemon water and utensils immediately after we sat down.

Since we didn't know what to order, we asked for the servers recommendations and trusted her suggestions which were:

🍹Orange Ginger Cooler - I really like the taste since it was really refreshing. It had more of the orange flavor though than the ginger.

🍹Guava Lemon Cooler - This had more of the guava flavor, the taste was milder than the orange ginger but it was good as well.

🥘 BI-BIM-BAP - This was sooo good!!!! At first I thought the fresh mangoes were a bit weird, but it perfectly complimented the taste of the nori and the soy spareribs. The kimchi taste wasn't as prevalent but I didn't mind it that much since all the flavors went well with other. I just couldn't stop eating... the whole bowl was finished within no time.

🍛 Classic Caldereta - My non-vegetarian dad ordered this, and seeing him clearing his plate as fast as I did just shows how much he liked it. Even the 'meat' tasted like the real thing. The sauce was super tasty too! Perfect pairing with the brown rice 👍🏻

🍝 Olive oil and Sardine Capellini - My sister had this and said it was just okay. The seasonings were right, but it was a bit dry.

☕️ Soy Coffee - The soy coffee was good too. It had a natural sweetness to it and it wasn't that bitter. It also came with a piaya, which I'm not a fan of in general, but yay for those of you who appreciate that delicacy.

I’ve always passed this restaurant on the way to my office and I was so glad I finally stopped by. Vegetarian restaurants in manila is especially hard to come by so this resto is surely a life saver for all non-meat eaters out there! I ordered the bibimbap which tasted good although I would’ve appreciated if it had real kimchi on top. For dessert, I took out the dark chocolate cake and I must say, it’s one of the best vegan cakes I’ve tried! We’ll be back for sure!

A hidden gem of vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurant along Mother Ignacia. My boyfriend and I usually go here for dinner and we are impressed the two times we went here. We have tasted the Caldereta, Nachos, Spinach and Ricotta Dumplings, Lemon and Basil Pasta, Bibimbap, Roasted Pulled Pork, and Vegan Chocolate cake on separate occasions. Servings are larger than average. Food is tasty. You wouldn’t assume that what you are eating doesn’t have meat. Albeit, the prices are on the more expensive side (199php-up) This place provides insight that vegan food aren’t supposed to be bland or just leaves.

The restaurant also has a homey vibe to it which I believe a lot of people would enjoy. The staff are friendly, a little quiet, but attentive to our requests.

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to those looking to try vegetarian/vegan food!

A friend and I tried eating here for the first time last night and we loved it!

I had Lengua with Mushroom Sauce. It was a bit salty, I'd like it better with less of whatever they put on it that makes it so salty.

My friend had the Kare Kare and it was really good! A bit salty, too, but it was still good. And the serving is big for one, with enough to make your friends try a bite 😂 and it's really affordable, too. I'd expect them to be pricier, since almost all restaurants that serve vegan dishes charge so much for so little food.

Would just like to suggest to take it easy on the salt though 😂 but I cannot wait to try their other dishes. 😊

I'm on plant based diet since early this year. So exploring for vegan/vegetarian establishments with my bf has become our thing. For the verdict, I think "The Vegetarian Kitchen" offers a wide variation of food options and fusions. The taste and appearance of the food we ordered namely, Kare Kare and Bibimbap, were satisfying. Only that, they close too early during weekdays. But it's worth returning to coz there are lots to try on.

We're going to have an audition in the Timog area for an upcoming shoot. Since one of our friends is vegan, he suggested a lunch date with the rest of the group at a hole in the wall resto beside St. Mary's College. The ambience has the bare essentials for a restaurant set-up as the food served probably do not require a theme to be followed. The thought of eating non-meat for the food that we ordered was kinda unnerving as my mind would probably be tasting something meat but also registering that it is not actually. Since we are just doing a light meal, we ordered two for-sharing appetizers, Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls (Php155) and Loaded Longganisa Nachos (Php155). The food were reasonably priced and looked really healthy! If there were branches near pur place then we would probably try eating here again.

I have lived about 3 blocks away from this restaurant for the past 2 years and have only found out about this now when I tried to start eating healthier. I love how all their choices are vegan and totally guilt free. When I stopped by last week, I ordered their country style fried chicken which comes with macaroni salad and roasted corn. I had it for take out and although I walked home, the food still looked picture perfect. (See image). With just one bite of my food, I was in heaven. The macaroni salad was so good as was the corn and "chicken". If you have tried Gram's chicken, this tastes just like it! The reason why I gave it a 4 was because I had no cell service in the restaurant at all.

2017 is the year I vow to shift to Veganism, so I will just review organic or all-natural vegetarian/vegan restos. Or vegan/vegetarian dishes in some restos worth raving for. =)

So I just discovered TVK this year and I don't know why I haven't seen this along Mother Ignacia Ave. (where I frequently pass before while working for ABS Foundation). They have been existing since the 90s and I am happy that they are still going strong. I have tasted almost everything in their menu. My goal, to actually taste all items LOL. The inside is quaint and comfy. Although airconditioning is a bitch, esp. now we are still in warm temp. They should definitely do something about the AC!

I appreciate the little nook with health, food, and Hinduism references. Thumbs down though with the realization that they are still using plastic straws despite Dharma's stress on the environment. Plus, the vegan meat take-outs has excessive packaging waste.

Also, when you go there, make sure you tell the one and only waitress to take your orders with a pen and paper since she messed up our orders twice already. I appreciate the need (perhaps) to strengthen the memory; but when it comes to food, people get too "hangry" to put up with this by-memory-style of taking orders.

On to the food yeah? For appetizers, I love everything esp. the Ricotta & Corn Quesadilla plus fried mac and balls. Hoping that they always use beets in the Quesadilla relish (as mentioned in the menu) , because sometimes they replace it with just tomatoes. The only thing I am not fond of is the crispy tofu skins. It's not crispy enough and it leaves a "plastic" like taste in my mouth. Love the Salad! Must try! It is very refreshing and portioning is good.

SOUP: Tomato Basil is a winner! It's perfectly balanced and one order is just enough for one person. The La Paz Batchoy, we hate. The bland vegan meat gets spongy in the watery soup, and I swear it's the very thing ruining the whole thing. I didn't get the batchoy taste at all. It would be helpful, aside from reworking the recipe, to put some veg-charon bits on top with mucho chives.

PASTA: Their tinapa pasta is yummy. The meatballs in red sauce is just ayt. The meatballs though, tastes like a balled-up extender. It's lacking salt and pizzaz...hoping for more spices to be incorporated there. Hoping that TVK expands its pasta options! It would be cool if they had Longannisa pasta and some squash or mushroom ravioli! Yum, my mouth is watering thinking about it. It would be cool to have a vegan cream based pasta.

MEALS: Bibimbap Bowl's presentation is superb. Hoping for more "beef" floss in there though, and the Kimchi rice is not so "kimchi-y" for me. I like my Kimchi with the tang and right amount of fermented heat just so somehow I can legitimately brand it as Kimchi whatever.

Not a big fan of the caldereta.

My husband is addicted to the Tocino ("it can fool well enough"-said an ex-mega carnivore). Another favorite of mine is the sweet & sour spareribs thing (sorry forgot the title)...oh! and my fave too is the Southern Chicken! However, the side dish macaroni though is tasteless. It needs more vegan mayo and carrots. I suggest putting some relish into it.

DRINKS: Love them all, although I'd suggest the Salted Tamarind can show a hint of salt...since we missed it. And I would suggest that they separate the sugar syrup, or whatever syrup sweetener they might have. This can deter anyone who is health conscious to order. It's good to just have it au naturel, and provide the diner an option to sweeten it with either of the ff: honey, coco/muscovado sugar, agave, or stevia.

VEGAN MEATS: Particularly like the Chicken Embutido. Would like them to have this tight though since it tends to fall apart once opened. The Longganisa is okay, the texture does not appeal to me. Tapa is a tad bit sour to me, perhaps lessen the vinegar component. The sisig is just okay- if they can thrust it towards the savory/salty side rather than the tangy side. The Lentil burger is a winner to me. Side Note**- their double cheeseburger summer special almost had me if it wasn't for the mash-up of lentil burger and longganisa as the patty. The burger ended up like Burger Machine's longganisa burger to me.

DESSERT: Haven't tried it, but please TVK! Don't have only one dessert in your menu!! hhuhuhu...There are a lot of dessert peeps out there (*raises hand). I swear it would bring more revenue if you have a bomber selection of desserts.

I like this TVK. It's a comfort zone of an eatery. The best thing is: the bang for your buck component! It's cheap and the quality is great. This is one of the places that brings relief to vegetarians or vegans. We need to grow more restos like this!

My last suggestion would be is to have a receipt that includes the actual order and not only the price. It's a challenge to double check the bill esp. when you're in a big group.

Highly recommend this kitchen and will definitely come back again...and again.....and again....and....again.....END. :D

We decided to eat here for lunch since my vegan friend wanted to try it. I am not vegan but I loved the vegan spin they put for many of the classic dishes. The southern fried chicken was a hit for me and so was the meatless kebab. You don't typically find vegan dishes for those prices. What I appreciated was the effort put in grouping the side dishes with the main meal, and the fact that it was all vegan friendly. The ambience was rated a little lower because there were kids running around and it got loud but it's expected because it's a family restaurant. There are some couches but you still get the feel that you're in a less-classy place. I say it's still worth the trip from Manila though, kudos to the chef! My vegan friend Prin can't breath at the moment with all she ate. Definitely coming back!

For your first visit, I recommend the following dishes:

1. Bibimbap
2. Fried Chicken
3. Kebab
4. Mac n Cheese Balls (not pictured)

I was ecstatic when I found out on their FB page that they're selling no. 4 in frozen packs. These bite-size goodies are deceivingly good! I can't believe it's vegan! It has fooled my tastebuds into thinking I'm eating cheese! This yummy treat is amazing! Must-try!!!

I don't recommend ordering the La Paz Batchoy. I love my pork, that's what makes batchoy so delicious. Since there are no traces of fatty pork in this dish, I felt it lacked in flavor.

My boyfriend and I were hanging out at Starbucks in front of ABS-CBN and decided to go on another vegan adventure. Although I've heard a lot of great reviews for the Vegetarian Kitchen, I never thought I'd ever have time to get my ass off and look for a parking space and finally eat here. Yes. Parking here is THAT hard. Most especially if you don't want your vehicle hanging around the driveway.

The food though, I have to say is as good as any non-vegan restaurant. The serving was fair and there was vegan fried chicken! We vegans know how hard it is to make vegan fried chicken so having a go-to place that sells it is definitely good news for us. I highly, highly recommend you order that, as well as the vegan bibimbap. And if that's not enough, you should have the vegan dark chocolate cake for dessert as well. Bring your non-vegan friends to get a taste of meatless dishes that taste exactly like the real thing!

One thing I wasn't too happy with was the La Paz Vatchoy. It's a veganized batchoy that comes with noodles and veggies. Although the "meat" was alright, the soup seems to be a little bland in taste. Even sprinkling a generous amount of pepper won't do the trick. Still needs a few more spices for it to taste exactly like batchoy, but I would still recommend it on a cold day. My non-vegan boyfriend though, says that he still prefers the normal batchoy with a pig in it.

Place was very spacious and the interior was very homey. My fave color of all time is red, so I absolutely enjoyed having to be surrounded in shades of red. It reminds me of tomatoes and strawberries! The waitress was very friendly too. Overall accommodation was splendid. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes. :)

Superb! I accompanied my vegetarian parents here, and as a meat-lover, I was very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the country style fried "chicken" and it tasted just like chicken. The gravy was lovely and flavorful as well. Mom had the bibimbap and it was lovely too. Dad had the famous kaldereta and his plate was squeaky clean afterwards because it was too good!
I wanted to try the salted tamarind cooler, but it wasn't available :(. But the orange ginger cooler didn't disappoint! We also had potato wedges and they were just the right amount of salty.
The place also has a real cozy feel, and the service was great! The staff took the time to explain a lot of things on the menu for us, and the food arrived very quickly. All in all, a great experience that I (as a meat-lover) would like to have again :)

The vegetarian kitchen never ceases to amaze me every time I dine there. I'm always in awe at how spot on the flavors and textures of the meat substitutes they manipulate, are to the actual pieces of pork or chicken.

Our favorites are the pork tocino, bibimbap, Korean shredded pork, Fettuccini Alfredo, crispy tofu skins, tomato and mallungay lasagna and spinach dumpling. If your lucky enough to dine and they're serving cheesecake, grab it while you can! It won't be available very long. Many people buy them whole, their eggless cheesecakes are delish!

The interior is simple and colorful, serving time is reasonable with generous serving sizes.

Dining at Vegetarian Kitchen sates me and never leaves me craving for a large piece of steak after. That is a feat for people like me who won't be satisfied without consuming more meat! Love this place!

Found this restaurant through a drooling instagram post of Tom Salamanca, so I inquired and decided that I had to try it.

I was planning to visit another vegetarian resto but when I showed both Zomato pics and menu to my dad, he was more fascinated with this so we ended up here. The quaint restaurant is colorful from its exterior to interior. It has a very European feel. The design is very homey and the music keeps you calm and relaxed.

At first, I thought that this vegetarian restaurant was going to be like other Chinese vegetarian restaurants (Quan Yin Chay, Daily Veggie, Bodhi) wherein the star of the dish is tthe flavored mock meat, but when the dishes were presented to us, I was surprised to see colorful plates filled with fresh vegetables. I like this place, I thought.

We ordered:
- Almondigas soup : 3/5 : your usual misua and patola soup with vegetarian meatball. The patola's sweetness is appetizing plus the refreshing soup with a hint of coriander. The problem for me are the meatballs. Although made with real vegetable bits, the texture is too floury.

- Mexican Spaghetti : 4/5 : this dish was presebtable as it is colorful. The ground "meat" used in this dish really looks and taste like meat. The dish has real mexican flavors especially with the use of corn, olives, and peppers. Nachos are provided because the excess toppings can be eaten with the nachos. A vegan version is also available. Spaghetti was a little tough to chew though.

- Paella : 3/5 : the spanish rice favorite but with the use of couscous instead of rice. Also a colorful dish, having the dish topped with grilled vegetables, yummy shrimp tempura, and salivate-worthy calamares which also comes with a dipping sauce. It is a filling dish made with fresh ingredients that nourishes the soul. Although a good dish, it is nowhere near the taste of a paella.

- Grilled Fish Teriyaki : 4/5 : I love this grilled fish. Most of the time, soy fishes are tough to chew and are "meaty", their version is soft and silky and really fish-like. The teriyaki sauce is also flavorful but salty, so it is recommended to eat it with rice. The dish comes with yasai itame (stir-fried japanese-style vegetables) and potato salad on the side. The potato salad is mayonnaise-y and a bland.

- Bibimbap : 5/5 : best dish of the day. Korean-spiced rice in a bowl topped with mushrooms bulgogi, mangoes, seaweeds, malunggay leaves and other vegetables. All the ingredients blended well together making it a truly tasty and healthy dish.

- Guava Lemon Cooler : 5/5 : refreshing and delicious.

- Calamansi Mint Cooler : didn't get to try it as I think it was so good, my dad finished it all. A recommended drink for a hot day.

Toilet is available and it is clean and well decorated. Street parking is available. Would definitely come back and try other dishes. Price is on the high side but since they use fresh vegetables, it is worth it. The only other downside to their set up is they don't give out menu cards. Their menu is written on the wall at the far end of the restaurant. Although it can be read on the other side of the restaurant, some people like our senior citizens will find a hard time doing so, and that is why I ended up ordering everything.

I absolutely loved the food! I ordered their best seller caldereta sa gata with sides of fried spring rolls. OMG this was so healthy and very fulfilling. There was plentiful of potatoes and tofu to replace what is lost from eating meat. This is a nice vegetarian twist on a Filipino food that (almost) always has meat in it. The spring rolls with peanut sauce was so good. I love the contrasting texture of flakiness and crunchiness as opposed to the texture of caldereta. As for the taste, well I'm a sucker for spring rolls with peanut sauce. Though I do want to try it fresh next time than fried (but then the food would have a one-note texture). I also ordered the guava lemon cooler and it was good though it was a bit too strong for me. Personally I wished that the service water was iced.

Also, though I came in first, the server attended to the two older ladies but this is due to the Filipino culture of serving the older people first. Then as I was leaving, the server was too late in opening the door for me. I don't mind but it was part of the job as she opened for everyone. Just reporting this so that you know what to expect. Again, I didn't really mind it at all.

I also loved the ambiance and decor as it is very hip. The place is small but it feels just right as it gives a homey place.

Lastly, I was disappointed that they did not accept credit card despite saying in zomato that they do accept it. The price of the food was alright for me as it is good in quality with fair amount of quantity. Would rate it higher but these few mistakes cost it.

Their menu is well thought of. I'd definitely choose to dine here rather than in other restos because they can offer same delectable dishes but with healthier ingredients. We ordered Tofu Skin with sweet and sour sauce, Russian chicken potato salad and grilled salmon. The tofu skin is really CRISPY! Although oil sometimes gets stuck between the skin, the sweet and sour dip is a perfect match as you start your meal. The grilled salmon is sweet and is actually synthetic meat. We just found out when the food came coz we thought they would serve salmon (fish). The brown rice complements the dish and also the veggies on the side. We really enjoyed the Guava Lemon Cooler (Php75), very refreshing! Our favorite is the Russian chicken potato salad. Its a chunky salad which we like. Big chunks of potato, carrots and chicken. Yummy! The dishes are reasonably priced and good for 2 to 3. Its a nice place for hanging out with family, friends and special someone. :)

Every time I go to this place, I'm already drooling for the vegan southern fried chicken or the vegan Korean spareribs. The Vegetarian Kitchen doesn't fail to come up with accurate vegetarian dishes that almost tastes non-vegetarian. I highly recommend this to people who seek delicious comfort food and want to experience a creative approach to vegetarianism at the same time. The owners of the restaurant are welcoming, sometimes one of them would come and ask how the food is and stay for a nice chat. Overall, this restaurant deserves more exposure to the public because their dishes are amazing.

My wife is craving for some real vegan food, I remeber this place along Mother Ignacia street an old house turned into a kitchen. I love the cozy feel of the place. It was freshly renovated. We were greeted happily by the owner. The way he talks to us about the food shows how passionate he was. I met the owner 3 years ago and I can see the hardwork he has done to run it. I agree having a vegan resto is a challenging market to tap with. So we ordered my fav tofu fried..man the sauce is just right to my taste. The lasagna malungay ofcoarse is my favorite but I find it a bit salty and oily...maybe because i was on diet for the past weeks that's why my taste buds kindda not in the mood on salts hehehe..my kids orderes the fried chix with potato salad. My wife then ordered the chicken greek style sandwich. Staff is also polite..we spent 1.2k for 4 person...which I consider good pricing. But they dont sell deserts here but the owner gladly told me that it will be available soon. One thing I like also is that they serve the food real fast.

I recomend trying out the vegetarian kitchen..lets support vegan foods in our country :)

According to reviews, they have a killer Kaldereta sa Gata. I tried it myself and it is true! Solid kaldereta! Their version has cherry tomatoes which was a nice touch. They were like flavor bombs that break the creamy mouth feel of the dish. They use different meat substitutes for different dishes. So better ask before ordering. Will be back soon! :)

The best vegetarian restaurant I've tried so far. We had the spinach and cream cheese dumplings and crispy tofu skins for appetizer, grilled salmon, chili coconut shrimp and smoked bangus for main entrees. The guava lemon cooler is also good. Reasonably priced and good serving. I just hope the food is less oily.

A surprisingly good vegetarian restaurant. For those who are fed up with bland vegetarian food, this is the place for you. They have a wide variety of dishes and nice interiors to boot. It looks small from the outside, but inside is very spacious, can seat 16-20 pax.

We ordered their bestseller appetizer, the Spinach & Cream Cheese Dumplings (P214). Tip: best eaten while hot. Minor annoyance however is when I asked the wait staff what the dip was, he said it was wasabi mayo, I didn't taste any wasabi in it.
For entrée, we got the Caldereta sa Gata (P291) & Meatless Stroganoff (P288). Both dishes are very very savory to the point of almost very salty. Both dishes are big and good for 2. For those who love rice, they serve soft brown rice. Additional praise for the chef for taking time to soak the brown rice before cooking. Minor annoyance: (yes, again), wait staff recommended Meatless Stroganoff since Lengua is not available. He stated that they're the same... that is so inaccurate. Stroganoff is cream-based while Lengua is gravy or tomato-based. Note to owner, please orient your wait staff more.

For dessert, we got the Peach Walnut Cake (150). Cake was very light and fluffy. Nice light desert to cap off a very heavy dinner.

Overall: I love their wide variety. If you want to shed pounds or just simply eat healthy, this is a good choice. The bad, its very very pricey. Considering Greens is just blocks away, pricing should be adjusted a bit.

Note: prices above are exclusive of 10% service charge.

Definitely something you'd try and keep on going back to, a bit pricey but the food quality is good, I'll recommend this restaurant for people who're going into a diet and is very conscious on what they're taking into account. Their desserts are also delicious enough to be in the top desserts by inquirer last 2013! Definitely a must try with sweet tooth people like me.

Tried their veggie callos and my companion ordered the caldereta sa gata. His came with some lumpia that was perfectly executed--- so crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce that came with it was superb. Both dishes were basically stewed, which is one of the best ways to cook the veggie meat they used, which was mostly gluten, I believe. I would like to suggest that they use more of the newer alternatives, like Textured Soy Protein, to deliver a more contemporary and unique texture.

The Spinach and Cream Cheese Dumplings (PhP 160) is one of the most popular items on the menu, and it’s no surprise. Tasty spinach was layered inside an incredible crisp, fresh dumplings skin that’s baked in-house. We decided to try it with the white sauce provided on the platter and scattered in small blobs here and there.

Next was the Spanish Lengua (PhP 240) with cucumber salad and organic rice. The “lengua” was made from gluten, which arrived swimming in tomato and mushroom sauce sauce. The Lengua was like classic Filipino recipe Beef Mechado—but one whose ingredients were mock meat.

Finally, we took a stab at the Rich Tomato and Malunggay Lasagna (PhP 270), which was a showstopper. Every bite of the square piece of vegetarian lasagna was heavenly. The globs of uncommonly delicious and sweet baked cheese on top was so good that you’d almost forget to notice how tender and perfect the pasta are.

The ingredients used were of high quality, and the presentation of food looked really good. Generally, the dishes at The Vegetarian Kitchen surpass one’s typical preconceptions of vegetarian food. So stop thinking that vegetarian food equates to just salads and greens. :P With prices of food ranging from PhP 120 to PhP 250, you can definitely get yourself a decent vegetarian meal here.

A must try! It was holy week when we chanced upon this restaurant, one of the rare ones open during the holiday season. The restaurant was part of the house so it exuded a homey, comfortable feel. We ordered spaghetti with meatballs and bibimbap. Both are amazing and i could not believe its not meat. The 'faux-meat' was tender, full of flavor and absolutely filling. The dessert, apple cheesecake, is truly a must try. The attendants are very hands-on. Just wish there were more seats! I'm not a big fan of the vegetarian cuisine but the Vegetarian Kitchen absolutely changed my mind. We will be back soon, holy day of obligation or not!
