Now a combination of pork and chicken broths, this one’s definitely much better than their previous one. This is more traditional tantanmen. Love it and will always keep coming back for this!
Super plus to the amazing food is their equally amazing staff. 😊 My son and I went here two Saturdays in a row, I think. Will come back again next week!!!

They now have set meals for lunch
What I look forward the most on ramen aside from the richness and heaviness of the broth is the noodles. Definitely one of the best noodles so far. Thin, right hard crisp and light. It doesn't make you feel full. Pork is tasty. I love their ebi tempura roll --not 'fishy' compared to other's. Only thing, though, I didn't like is that it's hard to move around the area; it's not child-friendly because tables are close to one another. Unless you don't pay attention, you could clearly hear people from other tables talk.
Ippudo has always been my number one ramen joint in Manila. With its light yet umami packed broth, I could easily finish a bowl. And after weeks of not having a decent Japanese meal, I figured that it's time to end it and indulge in my favorite Shiromaru Tamago. One of the things I love about Ippudo is its impressive service. I used to frequent its Uptown Bonifacio branch and the staff never fail to give me a pleasant dining experience. And I'm glad that same is true with its Ayala Malls Vertis North store.
When I heard Ippudo is also open in the Philippines, I told myself to try. So far, the difference between the taste of JP and PH is the richness. JP has more authentic taste than PH, but taste was, it is up my alley. This is a good place to have a hangout with friends, though pricey, the food is still worth it. Overall, the place is good and the food is just right for Japanese food lovers.
Had dinner with the in-laws. Had to wait for a table for 8, but the wait wasn't long. We ordered the Shiromaru Motoaji, Shiromaru Tamago, Shiromaru Chasu, Karaka Special, Yokohama, Akamaru, Gyoza, Karaage, and Okonomiyaki. The ramen were very good. Not salty and not too rich. Service was very good. Request for wavy noodles and egg was accommodated. Price is slightly high.
Once again Ippudo doesn’t disappoint on a rainy night in Manila. I ordered the Yokohama Iekei for p499 and the torched salmon roll. The Yokohama Iekei is Ippudo’s take on the classic ikei style ramen from Yokohama. It’s a unique combination of Paitan and Ippudo’s signature tonkatsu broth. With thick noodles, shoyu tamago, loin and torched belly, Japanese spinach and cabbage.
The salmon roll was also delicious.
Interior design: Nice
Service: very fast 👍🏼

It's ramen weather! 🎄
FOOD: All I can say is "Grabeeee! Sarap!" The ramen broth is intense. It has the richest taste!
PLACE: You can really feel the Japanese Vibe in this restau. We sat at the bar near the chef so we can actually see them passionately preparing our orders. So cool!
PRICE: You'll get what you paid for. So sulit!
SERVICE: Very attentive staffs.
------ 5 stars! Arigatou! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊
Living in the Philippines has no longer made us strangers to monsoons and torrential rains. And on cold and wet days like this, the craving for something warm and soupy hits. Enter the quintessential ramen. It's like a hug in a bowl— both heartwarming and deliciously satisfying.
One great place to get your noodle fix is at Ippudo. This Japanese shop has been making waves across Asia, and has sprouted numerous branches across Metro Manila. It's #WorldFamousRamen that you can easily get your hands on, and you don't need to go far.
The Akamaru Shimeji is one of my constants. This black garlic ramen promises warm, flavorful soup with springy thin noodles and a plethora of mushrooms and spring onions to go with your thinly sliced meat. And being such a garlic lover, I made sure to add in more (thanks to their conveniently placed garlic and garlic cracker). You can even pair this with their Nanban Karaage— deep fried chicken bites coated in a sweet glaze, which is best enjoyed with their creamy tartar sauce.
FOOD is tasty. The soup is beyond comparable. The spice is properly placed and everything in the ramen seems to be in perfect balance.
The noodles is firm and tasty.. but i am not fan of thick noodles..so i hope they have this option to change the composition of the noodles.
Staff is a bit friendly. But not as attentive as other ramen "fix" restaurant.
Overall i rate this 5! Best ramen i tasted so far here in the philippines!
Remains to be one of the best ramen! Their Beef Ishiyaki rice is also a must-try. We never fail to order this one everytime we visit. Service is also excellent :)
Shiromaru.
Tonight was my first time to try their shiromaru. Actually, I was so tired the whole day but because of the rainy weather, I craved ramen, and Ippudo in vertis is one of the closest ramen stores in my place (and is actually one of my top 3 favorites) ❤️
Tried Ippudo for the very first time and the experience was great. Ordered their shiromaru and akamaru ramen. Taste wise ramen broth is not too overpowering, which I like. Honestly liked the akamaru ramen more than the other. It’s good too that you can customize the noodle thickness. Overall, would recommend the ramen!!
I ordered my favorite, Karakamen, and my first in trying the Mushroom Ramen.
Karakamen - must order. I love the wavy noodles and a unique flavor. I recommend trying the noodles very hard. The unique blend of nutty and miso gives this ramen an addicting taste. I always add some more of chili oil, chili powder, and ground sesame seeds.
Mushroom Ramen - light flavored broth. Earthy and not cloying. Although I wanted to have some meat in this, I opted to try it as it is to experience the full potential. The mushrooms in these with the Karakamen will be the perfect ramen for me.
Gyoza - quite small and average, still a must order for me though. If you want, you can try their Karaage instead.
Pork Bun - soft bun, not my favorite though, I prefer the chicken one.
Ippudo is probably in my top 10 ramen places here in Manila. The broth is just so good and the firmness of the noodles are perfect with it. The chasu is also charred to perfection. For the buns, I prefer getting the chicken bun than the pork bun (maybe because the pork bun was a little more fatty than the chicken one. Would eat here again 😉
Great ambience, good airconditioning, restroom is near just across the restaurant itself. Okonomiyaki is on the saltier side, big thumbs up on the maki, ramen (tantanmen) and buns. Get the 3 buns in a set its cheaper that way can be mixed either chicken (crunchy even with sauce) or pork (soft its a hongma/humba style). They serve tea, just ask the waitstaff :) They always give out a customer satisfaction paper for you to fillout whether you are a new or returning customer, which is a nice thing coz every dining experience can be different.
Had a quick snack here one time, that we know we can't finish a whole thing all to ourself. We asked the staff to split the ramen bowl for 2. Naturally they can't do that when they serve your order to preserve the whole thing as it gets to you (customer). They served as an extra bowl, but the staff eagerly helped us split our ramen bowl.
All their ramen is the bomb! We had Akamaru bowl during our last visit. Not to mention, I also love their gyoza. 👌🏻👌🏻
Ippudo ramen, always seem to bring the goods, especially one of their bestsellers, the Yokohama ramen, delicious and fills your apetite! I love their gyoza and porkbun as well, a really good appetizer to ready you for the main course! 5 out of 5 for Ippudo ramen
Finally, I can enjoy Ramen with family! Happy to slurp into a non-pork-based all-mushroom delicious ramen at Ippudo. Hope it stays forever on the menu.
Ippudo, I would say, is my favorite among all the ramen places. The broth just right. The ingredients and the seasoning are not overpowering. They have a selected menu but you won’t have any regrets with whatever ramen you opt for. Personally, my favorite would be the Shiromaru. Broth just perfect down to the last drop.
Not our first time to try Ippudo and we dined at this branch for my husband’s birthday. It almost turned out to be a disaster. I called earlier in the day if they would accept my reservation for 16. The answer I got was yes but they will not hold the table. I was there at the venue early as I had to pick up a gift as well so an hour before, I informed the table receptionist that I was already there and I wanted to make sure that we would be all sitting together. Apparently what they meant by “not holding the table” was that they won’t get to sit us together since when a customer is done with a table, they will not hold it for us to be able to make one long table for 16. When you say “we won’t hold the table” to a customer, common sense would dictate that it means that when the customer is not around at the specified time, the table will be released to others. Mind you, we were all complete by 6pm. Besides, the point of making a reservation and of them accepting it was so that we could all sit together especially since it was a birthday celebration. They could’ve said that it’s not possible so that I would have gone to another restaurant for a reservation. If we had not set the time early, we would have ended up with no place to celebrate that night. In fairness to the lady who accepted our reservation and to the wait staff, she was apologetic for the miscommunication and we were attended to very well during dinner. Please, just inform your customers next time that you do not accept reservations.
My husband wanted ramen for his birthday while we were in Vertis North. Glad that we did not have to fall in line to be seated. He ordered akamaru ramen and I tried the Yokohama. Everything is perfect! Broth, chashu, shio tamago and nori. Softest chashu I've ever had. My husband seasoned his ramen with black pepper, sesame seeds and garlic which made it a bit spicy. A different level that blends well with the broth. Service is good. We just felt that they could have served our ramen pipping hot but overall it was good. We will defintely come back.
Most favorite ramen house and branch I've ever been so far. My most favorite ramen is the special karaka ramen. The staff were very attentive and accommodating when it comes to customer's satisfactory.
Tried their limited edition Zero ramen, said to be the original recipe back in the days when Ippudo has just started in Japan. It was a really good marketing strategy serving only a specified number of bowls a day for a limited time, because it made me order one right away. Taste was good, a bit in the saltier side but still the usual good tonkotsu broth with medium done hard noodles in its hot soup with two slices of chashu, slices of spring onions and bamboo shoots.

Ramen hunting since the last quarter of 2017 and I saved Ippudo for last. Tried high-end Ramen to cheap ones and all I can say is that Ippudo is at par with Mendokoro and Yushoken. Their Tantanmen is the best Tantanmen I've tried with the Tamago made it extra special. Their Shiromaru Special is excellent! The bowl and serving is big while the broth is perfection. Well balanced and there is no "umay" factor in it. But what impressed me more is their crew. They are very active, fluent in English and excellent on communicating with us customers. I've never seen a crew this good in customer communication. We can also see their kitchen team working with enthusiasm. They need to add more branches to reach more Ramenheads around the Metro.
This is one of the high class ramen places I've tried so far. Their ramen selection is quite diverse, taste is exquisite, and servings are generous. Service is absolutely fast and attentive to your every need. Price is definitely on the higher end. Worth to try.
This is one of my favorite ramen places in the metro. I usually go for their classic shiromaru special. I love the pork broth. It is really tasty and has rich taste.
I've dined at Ippudo for multiple times already but this was the first time that I've tried their buns. We had the chicken and pork bun, and I must say that I enjoyed their pork buns more.
The ramen, of course, was good. I was kind of disappointed with myself for not being able to finish my bowl (which I always do until this instance!) since we had them for early dinner because this branch still gets long lines for being fairly new in the area.
Great food, great service! All the staff were very polite and attentive. Serving size for the ramen was just right, just enough to fill you up but not too much to make you feel bloated.
Place is nice and the servers are super accomodating. The chashu that I had was probably the best melt in your mouth chashu I have ever tasted, I'm not a fan of the broth the taste isn't as heavy as I would want it to be but really the chashu is amazing would definitely go back and order an extra serving of chashu ♥
Review 2:
I loved the Mushroom Ramen! I honestly felt guilt-free after finishing the bowl. I can’t finish the whole pork ramen serving but I finished this one! Perfect for the Lenten Season. The broth is light as well as the mushrooms. Hope this one’s on the menu permanently!
Review 1:
We keep coming back to Ippudo. Hope they’re planning on opening more branches especially in Quezon City. We keep coming back for their rice rolls (both tempura and salmon are dabombs.com), as well as, of course, the ramen. One bowl might be too much for one person esp. for those who’ll order the rolls. The pork buns are the only items on their menu you can have to-go, so make sure you can finish what your order 😅

Being an avid ramen lover I never skip an opportunity to try the different Japanese ramen varieties offered by various ramen outlets both here and abroad! The price should be commensurate with the taste and satisfaction from consuming the ramen. Broth, condiments, noodle type and form, quality of ingredients, ramen size, tea and extras and Japanese ambience are very important in finalizing the overall rating. Ippudo ramen is among the costly ramens in the Philippines ranging from Php 500.00, including service charge! For the Karaka Special, my first taste of Ippudo's ramens: pork broth is rich, saltiness just right, the boiled egg's yolk could have been more orange or darker (so as not to confuse it with an ordinary egg!), it could be improved by adding more dark garlic, wavy noodle type does not necessary enhance the satisfying experience (straight noodle is perfect also, makes no difference), add more green onion leaves. Spicy and oiliness can be controlled by the consumer by adding ground peppers and sesame seed oil. You must consume the ramen and noodles while the noodles are still hard to avoid increase in saltiness of the soup, hence I recommend hard instead of soft ramen. At Ippudo, the bowl shape distinguishes their ramen varieties. Serving size is good for two medium sized people and can be halved as per request. Service crew are prompt and courteous. Japanese tea is offered for free either as hot or cold variety. Overall ambience is very Japanese. I have to try the other varieties soon.
We've been planning to visit Ippudo for a very long time even before it got to Vertis Mall; and finally, we came to try it as my first treat to my siblings!
At first, I was discouraged from the increasing waiting line that I would've settled for other restos had I not found myself busy as we wait in line. Fortunately, I've got some good games on my phone to keep me busy as we wait for our seats. Also, we were able to utilize our waiting time by going one-by-one to roam around the mall and shop for a few things. Thankfully, Ippudo didn't keep us hungry on line - they distributed cups of hot or cold tea, and fried noodles as we wait to be seated.
Finally, we got the bar seats (our preferred seats!), and got to watch some food preparations. All our waiters were courteous and very helpful - truthfully, these workers' patience takes away the bitterness of waiting.
On with the food...
Since we're three in the group, we tried all their three ramen specials : Shiromaru, Akamaru, and Karaka.
1. Shiromaru - The least saltiest among the three ramens. It feels and tastes "milky", and it has the "collagen"-feel-and-taste in reference to Botejyu's Paitan Ramen. Yup, it strongly reminded me of this certain menu from the competitor!
2. Akamaru - Salty and there was a bit hint of spiciness.
3. Karaka - l o a d i n g . . . I apologize but I honestly don't remember anymore the taste of this ramen as I wasn't able to log it on my review notes right after, or even during the meal). And to be honest, every taste became heightened and all I remembered from the ramen specials was that they were salty.
The RAMEN SPECIAL in general...
I honestly thought that there's nothing special or different about this ramen. It's like any other ramen except less salty of the saltiest ramen I've ever tasted. The meat was tender but some were a bit chewy all at the same time. Strongly recommended for those who crave ramen but not those who are on-a-budget kind of customers. Nonetheless, what I really liked about Ippudo's ramen were the large portions which you can share a bite or two with your companion, and still leave you with more to slurp for yourself!
We also tried the OKONOMIYAKI. I'd say this was my most enjoyed menu we got for the night! Competitive with brands that actually highlights the same food. Good serving size especially if you're getting other menus. Good for sharing up to 3 persons but you can always go solo with this as I definitely would!
In general...
I really liked how they offered hot or cold tea, and fried noodle chips while waiting on line. Sipping on a cup of tea, or munching some noodle chips takes away the boredom in waiting. The place has good lighting. I totally liked the high-chair counter. Aside from allowing me to see the food preparation, it made me feel like I was actually eating at a ramen bar!
We tried their ebi tempura roll and I tried the tantanmen ramen. The roll was fine, I don't know if it really adds that much to the menu, it's just okay, it's not bad but not special either. The tantanmen wasn't my favorite I think, the broth is definitely intensily spicy, but I would have wanted a bit of a peanut flavor in order to really get that tantanmen character. The chasu was good, would have wanted more of that. The onsen tamago that comes with it is a bit too soft cooked for me, a poached egg isn't ideal to me compared to one with just a semi-soft yolk. Their Yokohama ramen seems like the better special ramen.
Service was tremendous, servers are very good and very helpful. Would come back again for sure.

SERVICE: The staffs are very accommodating despite the long lines and plenty of customers waiting
PLACE: It looks just like any other ippudo branch.
PRICE: The price of their food ranges from 300 to 700 pesos
FOOD: So far, Ippudo has the best ramen that I've ever tasted
Best comfort food of all time! After finishing the mockboard examinations, friends and I decided to try this newly opened branch at Vertis North.
Kudos to our attendant. I forgot his name but we felt like VIPs. Well trained, very accommodating.
I had shiromaru motoaji and hakata style gyoza 👌🏼 the porkbuns are awesome too. Both of my friends were satisfied but one of them thought it’s kinda pricey for a bowl of ramen
Suddenly craving ramen? Need to scratch that itch for noodle soup? Then you’re looking in the right place.
Ramen: Ofcourse their ramen is great. Aside from having the fully-loaded bowls. You have a pick of how you want it done. From firmness of noodles to flavor of broth, to want you want added to the ramen itself.
More than just a ramen house: That’s right! They also serve maki, okonomiyaki and their highly praised pork buns. The proportions are snacksized, so you can pair them with your ramen without worrying as though you having a meal for two. I mean... Why just have ramen when you can dine ramen+?
Solo or To share: The ramen bowls are big! When they say good for one, they mean one heavy eater (Or just a really hungry person). You can solo that bowl and feel satisfied. However, if you’re a light eater or on date, you can share a bowl and go big on the extras. They provide extra mini bowls and forks & spoons if your chopsticks just aint doing it for you. Great for solo, friends, family, or groups of 8 or less.
It’s a little expensive: On average, I’d say the price ranges from 300+ per person. The fully-landed ramen bowls border 500P depending on your style. So its not a lightweight, be ready to shell out real money. They accept cash and credit.
Service. The staff are really attentive and will often serve you before know you needed it. A bit loud though, but I guess it’s for the Festival atmosphere?
During the dinner rush (6-9), the line is out the door and in loops! Ippudo shouldn’t be a spur of the moment choice, it’s gotta be a carefully planned out operation. They do not take reservations.
We had an early lunch there with my husband, daughter and granddaughter last August 13,2018 because there was no line. Usually the line is quite long on weekends at both lunch and dinner since the place is not too big. We ordered the Shiromaru Special, Okonomiyaki, Nanban Karaage and Aburi. They were all great. The amount of serving were just alright except the Okonomiyaki which was a bit small. Price is a little expensive compared to other Ramen House but on the overall, it's all worth it. The servers were all nice though I cannot remember the name of our server. He said, he would be our server again for our next visit. Probably that's one of the reason why the wait for a seat is long because there might be an instance that returning customers would ask for the same server at the same time :)
Finally, was waiting for this store to open since October 2017. Same great taste as other branches but a bit too small to cater to big crowds. imo, the second best ramen i’ve tasted in the Philippines, better than Ramen Nagi.
It’s payday and I’ve just finished paying homage to 'Judith' after paying my bills and figured I needed a treat. Because I was so hungry, I decided on trying out Ippudo, that shop by the corner at Vertis North. It had been under construction for the longest time so I was excited.
I decided to order the Yokohama Ramen (P495, plus 10% service charge). This dish’ broth is a combination of chicken and Ippudo’s signature tonkotsu broth (pork). This results to a rich broth that frames the flat noodles, shoyu tamago, torched loin and belly chashu, nori, Japanese spinach and cabbage. I appreciated the fact that the soup was not served too hot that it would scald my tongue.
And I understand why this is on the top of a lot of people’s ramen list. The noodles were glistening and springy, the tamago was done just right and the cabbage lent a surprising sweetness. The balance of flavors was really, really good. This is easily one of the best ramen I’ve tasted. And I appreciated the staff checking out on my experience too. They were attentive and alert.
The ramen is very tasty. It’s like every piece of this ramen is well cooked.
You can also customize your ramen based on your preference.
I ordered their best seller. I think that was the Akamaru Special Ramen while my friend ordered the Shiromaru Special which taste good as well. We also had their deep fried spicy gyoza. I’m not a fan of gyoza, but I can say that this one is good. For the dessert, they have limited options, only ice cream and crème brûlée, in which we ordered the matcha crème brûlée. It’s good but not really my type.
The staff were friendly. Thanks Joana!~ she’s the one in charge of us :)
The place is small though and crowded.
Everything is good, however I’m just wondering why people are not allowed to take out their left overs. Yeah, that’s what they said.
Budget, I think 1,500 is enough for two people, that’s with side orders already.
