A hidden and quiet cafe in Quezon City, Kandle Cafe has an indoor and outdoor dining area perfect for enjoying a light meal and a cup of hot or cold coffee, while savoring that well-deserved me-time. The cafe itself is a visual delight, spacious beautiful interior warm lighting, homey vibe - perfect for the stressed-out urbanite to unwind. ☕️
Kandle Cafe offers an ample menu consisting of Asian, American and Filipino fare that you will definitely not pass up.
The restaurant is so spacious yet feel cozy and homey. The interior gives you a warm holiday feel. It has an indoor space and an outdoor garden al fresco. I recommend this place for large groups. A lot of students and business people hang out here because of the ambiance. I went here on a day that it was jampacked and yet it still feels quiet and intimate. 🤎
🍴 Food Review
Black Calamares (Php390)
Black ink-battered deep fried squid with chili pepper mayo
〰️ We ordered this for our appetizer and it definitely gave us a good start! The crispiness of the calamares was so impeccable! I might come back just for this.
Mr. Egoy and Ms. Eggy Pasta (Php310)
Squid ink tagliatelle with bacon and salted egg cream sauce topped with a 63 degrees poached egg, served with pan de mi
〰️ No wonder why this is their best-selling dish. The egg was perfectly cooked which made the pasta very rich and creamy. The noodles were cooked al dente. The bacon and salted egg cream sauce were a perfect mix of savoury goodness!
Kandle Burger (Php325)
100% pure beef patty stuffed with cheezy tomato center on a brioche bun with an eggy surprise, served with kamote fries
〰️ The sunny side up egg nestled in a hole on top of the burger bun looks so fancy that you wouldn’t even want to touch it. Although the size of the burger was a tad small compared to your usual burger, the patty and burger slice were both really thick. The meat was oozing with juiciness!
The sweet potato side is also healthier option than your regular fries.
BBQ Chicken (Php325)
Boneless chicken barbeque with poached egg, buttered corn, and mixed greens in red wine vinaigrette, served with rice
〰️ This was my least favorite among my other orders but it is also one of their best sellers. I am not a fan of the sweet and sour bbq sauce just because I don’t like sweet viands. The chicken was also a little difficult to cut and hard to chew.
House Blend Iced Tea (Php140) - Raspberry
〰️ I love their Iced Tea! It was a little too sweet yet I liked it because of the raspeberry flavor. I just asked for extra ice to balance out the sweetness.
I wish this was a little bit closer to where I live so I can stay here whenever I want some quiet me-time. This is a really nice place to hang out and chill. I will definitely be back to try their coffee and desserts too! 🧁
Great food! Loved the ambiance in their garden, I was able to work because of the quiet atmosphere. Can't wait to go back with my husband or my friends to taste the other dishes!
This place offers good ambience, good food, and good tea and coffee. They're environment-friendly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They're always smiling. The one I can recommend is their Carrot Bar and Banana Chocolate Walnut and their Ceylon Tea Latte.
The green surrounding gives it a more chills and somewhat away from the metro feels. Relax vibes indeed. Food was good. It's just that I find the Egoy and Eggy Pasta "nakaka-umay".
Kandle Burger - Php325
***Beef patty with cheese, tomato and an egg centered in a brioche bun. Served with kamote fries.
Mr. Egoy and Ms Eggy Pasta - Php310
***Squid ink tagliatellw with bacon and salted egg cream sauce topped with poached egg. Served with a toast.
📍 Location: 113 Mother Ignacia Ave., South Triangle, Quezon City
Came here on a Saturday night around 9PM and the place was still packed. We ordered the Kimchi Tortilla and the Mr. Egoy and Ms. Eggy pasta. The tortilla was decent but omg the pasta was sooo good. I guess improving the courteousness of the staff could help but overall I really enjoyed my meal. Would come back!
This is our go-to cafe in the area. Good food and serving.
Used our zomato gold privilege here. Would've given it five stars.. but the steak was not as we ordered (medium rare) so it was a bit hard to chew. However, we really liked their Mr. Egoy and Ms. Eggy pasta! So sumptuous and marami yung serving. Their iced dark mocha was also great.

Great food is an understatement. Their shrimp pomelo salad, Ms Eggy and Mr Noggy pasta and boneless chicken barbecue tops the list. The ambiance is instagrammable and cozy.
I really love the cozy ambiance and also the foods tastes great(except for the palabok) and not that pricey as well. Beef sirloin is a must try and also their stuffed chicken with roti. All in all, this place is a must visit.
Quite expensive but the ambiance is instagramable.
Absolutely loved the Mr. Egoy and Ms. eggy squid ink pasta. The salted egg and poached eggs sauce was so creamy.
I also liked the pampano pasta with the olive oil sauce. The spice really adds color and surprise to the light dish.
The paella fritters were crispy. The tomato sauce really complemented the fritters, but I didn't really understand the paella in it. The mozzarella cheese inside was ooey and gooey. Nonetheless, still loved it.
We also got the bulgogi sandwich. The meat was so flavorful, and the sweet bread provided the sweetness you would normally get with a bulgogi.
We also got the blue peas tea. The tea was color blue and smelled like Baguio peas. It didn't provide any unusual taste though, other than books leafy vegetables.
Ambiance was well-lighted and decorated. Since it was the holidays, it was pretty crowded, and lines for ordering got a bit long. Other than that, it was really good.
Over all rating: 4.5
✅ Food Quality- 5/5
Eruption of flavor in every bite. Pork tonkatsu was moist, perfectly cooked and seasoned!
✅ Food Presentation- 5/5
It looks so beautiful you wouldn’t want to touch it.
✅Ambiance- 5/5
Perfect for big groups, small groups, even if you wanted to just chill and be alone.
✅ Staff- 4/5
Staff were great but it would be better if they are more courteous and accommodating.

I love their brown butter cookie and carrot cake/bar. Both were moist, and not too sweet.
Meals are good for two. Their soups are super sulit and can feed more than two people (kung ayaw mo mabusog sa soup)! I regret (in a good way) ordering the soup because it filled me up before eating our rice meal. The dishes were a little bit on the salty side though. I'd suggest putting less salt, and provide salt and pepper shakers; let customers adjust the taste to their own liking.
I'd recommend this place for kwentuhan over desserts and drinks.
Cozy, quiet, excellent food to price ratio, good service and the place is instagrammable. I can never ask for more. Definitely going back!
It was over all very nice, the food was really good. Would highly recommend this place.
I have been coming back to Kandle after a friend took me there on Valentines. Honestly, for their squid ink pasta! It never fails to lighten up my mood because their food is really good and the place looks so nice.
Their squid ink pasta is consistent every time I go there but also their salmon is good. What I also love about this place is their very good sweets! I am not a cake person but I have absolutely loved everything I have tasted off their fridge including matcha cheesecake, red velvet cake and dark chocolate brownies.
I will definitely keep coming back!
The place is really nice, have this privacy feeling when u go inside and the decors, interior is beautiful.. Customer service is really great.. They were able to give us another seafood marinara when we complained that it is too salty. One must not miss their coffee,.. Tastes really great, though it doesn't smell that much.. Mejo pricey lng din ang food so hopefully they put more meat, ingredients.. Also, thumbs up for the beef sirloin, tender.. Must try din ang chamomile tea.. And lastly, the sandwiches i think mejo nakakaumay.. Would rather order meat main courses or pasta kesa sandwiches.
The food is yummy! We used our zomato gold! So worth it! pork tonkatsu was great with the sauce, and the burger is legit too! And my! The shrimp soup was tdf! Will come back to try the rest.
Grilled lamb chop. Yummy🙂
Honestly, this is my 2nd review of Kandle Café.
I’ve taken my dad (when he still alive) here, my mom (after my dad passed), my closest college friends and a good friend who’s the PR Manager of the popular hotel in Pasig and my favorite Tita who lives all the way in Makati, on separate occasions. That’s how I love the place.
And now, I’m writing another review of the cafe. Here goes my 2nd.
There were two dishes which I had reviewed a few months earlier: The Paella Croquettes that were still the tummy-filling, deliciously-textured and very flavorful while the Cheesy Piggy, the confused dish which has the egg taste all over from the grilled brioche bread to the ham to the cheese and to the sauerkraut. I think that they should rename it as Eggy Piggy.
On the other hand, the Prawn Soup which was bursting with prawn flavor complimented by the truffle cream. Fantastic. Another stand out was the deep-fried Cheezy QC Maki. Though blessed with a weird name, the maki sushi (filled with salmon and kani) was extra-ordinary made perfect with the cheesy sauce and Japanese toppings.
Kandle Café’s take on Palabok was well, amusing. The kitchen substituted palabok noodles to vermicelli which I daresay, worked. And there was the grilled Stuffed Chicken made of chicken breast topped with herbed cream cheese served with roti and a side salad. Light, leaving you with a pleasantly satiated feeling.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again. From the service to the general sense of the place, Kandle Café is one fine place. It’s roomy (they have a space for private functions, check it out!) and has this warm feel of home. Keep it up, Kandle Café.
I felt jealous of people living in the south area like Makati or BGC because they have a lot of pretty restaurants on the list. You know, almost every day new restaurants are popping in unlike here in the north area specifically in Quezon City. But lately, I realized that maybe I wasn't just paying attention to know that there are a lot of hidden gems here, like the one I recently visited - the Kandle Cafe.
Staff is very accommodating.
The arroz caldo has its rice grinded into a soup consistency. It tasted a lot like mushroom soup. If you like the traditional consistency of the rice, stay away. It’s a good attempt at a type of fusion, but after my first time tasting it, it will be my last. The pork katsu plate would have been great if the pork was juicy in the middle. It was borderline dry, but tasty. Napkins are rather sparse - only one napkin is given to you if you don’t initially ask for more. Table napkins were thin - does not survive halfway through the meal. Overall, a mostly positive first time experience. A little pricey because of the fusion. Keep up the good work.
I wanted to celebrate my birthday. I had another restaurant in mind but it so happend that it was closed, so I went here because it was one of the nearest restaurants in the area and it was already raining.
The ambience is really cozy and perfect for bondings. I liked that the interior is that of a "mini private reception" look.
I am at awe at how the food was prepared very presentably. I ordered 3 pastas and 2 sandwiches, together with 5 glasses of house blend iced tea in raspberry and they were all served not longer than 15mins upon order. They were delicious! They gave me that feeling that I was dining at a posh restaurant.
Out of all the dishes we ordered, I loved the seafood marinara the most, and so far it's the best seafood marinara I've ever tasted.
On second note, the prices were just right. I was with 4 other friends when we dined in, and in a total of around 2.7k, we already felt full.
I want to say thank you also to the staff who assisted me as I ordered because she was really patient as she guided me as I decided on want to order.
Also, to the staff who took our group photo, it turned out well. :)
Thank you so much, Kandle Cafe! Looking forward to visit you the second time in the future. Especiall the cakes. They look interesting. :)
We loved everything we ordered! Steak, salmon and the pork tonkatsu were great. The pomelo and shrimp salad was refreshing. *drooling as i type this🤤* We didn’t get to take photos of the cakes though. Highly recommended for desserts: Red velvet and malagos chocolate cake. Will def go back to try the rest of the menu 😁😁
Feels like heaven. Hidden Jam in beautiful garden, interior design, lighting, AC, music volume, everything perfect. Went with espresso and banana chocolate cake. The cake felt warm and fresh, coffee is good. The only thing I would focus on is the service, the servers can be more helpful and confident
Our orders were kimchi wrap, chicken bbq, stuffed chicken, salisbury, but my faves are black calamares, shrimp and pomelo salad, salmon, cheesy qc maki, seafood marinara pasta. Strawberry milkshake and avocado are good too. Owner of the cafe is friendly. Staffs are a bit slow. But its ok food is great
Finally able to try this cafe. The place really looked cozy, pretty, organized, simple and instagramable. Everything in it looks nice. The servers were also accommodating and responsive. We tried their pomelo and shrimp salad, QC maki, Kandle burger and praline cake. They all tasted really good and the serving size is huge. I personally love the maki and the praline cake because they were really delicious. Will definitey go back to this place! 💙💙💙
Very spacious. I love the look of the place. There are ample power outlets for those who want to coffice here. Internet is quite slow though. Restroom is clean.
Staff were friendly as well.
I had the Grilled Beef Sirloin with rice one the side. Serving is more than enough for one but might be too small for 2 people.
Coffee is ok. I had the flat white. It was not the best coffee I’ve tried but it is far from bad too.
I will definitely go back.
Chic interiors, gastronomic delights, real 3rd wave coffee and value for money!
It's a perfect spot for a romantic date, for friendly reunions and for family bonding. Quality foods, big servings, pro-active staffs and IG worthy backgrounds.
I had the chicken BBQ for dinner and ordered cheesy ube ensaymada while wrapping up my day's work. Also had the ice blended chocolate truffle for some caffeine kick (the waiter told me it's caffeine based though I didn't believe him 😁).
What can be improved?
1. I feel that the waiters were outnumbered by the customers during peak hours, 7 PM onwards. For management consideration.
2. Waiters could offer water to all customers especially those who ordered something sweet from the coffees and pastries. I don't know, it felt kind of selective on who to give water to. I thought it should be 'matic'.
3. Whoever said that the place is ideal for those who are studying or working (laptop at side) is completely mistaken. The noise was chaotic! The wifi connection was slow and intermittent. People moving around everywhere. It's not a place where one can focus on their work.
Would I go back? A big yes, although there are some things to improve, I think this is a good place to bring a special someone 😁.
Great ambience, good food, reasonably priced and generous servings. Would have given them a 5 star if only the payment system would be modified. They were asking for payment for every order but when we told them that we have more people coming and we will pay once all have ordered, they agreed. But need to pay ahead before being served.
We had the black calamares which was so so. The salads were great, mr egoy pasta, salmon, monggo and pumpkin soup are all recommendable. The porterhouse was overcooked but they gladly replaced it. Their praline frozen cake in a tin can was delicious! Will definitely go back
If you’re looking for a nice coffee place with nature like ambiance, would definitely recommend Kandle Cafe. They have an indoor and outdoor dining area. Flavorful coffee and meals. Great for taking photos also.
Good job for using reusable straw! Their maki was amazing and their serving is quite big for one person. But their wifi is weak. Overall i recommend this place.
Everything in this place is perfect! They have a great ambiance/decor. Ample seating both in and outside, a few parking slots, attentive service and good food with decently big portions! I could have given a 5 star but the hummus was just cold and bad! Thats was disappointing!
The place is tucked away along a fairly gentrified area in Quezon City. It has a vibrant yet classy vibe with its color string lights, vintage tiles and wooden tables. Different groups across generations occupy the dining space - from teens with their laptops, couples on a date, bros chugging craft beer, titas catching up, to families and grandparents. The place truly caters to all types.
Service is not that quick and not always attentive, but friendly and accommodating for the most part. It should take around 45 minutes for your orders to be completed, I guess depending on how much food you order. You pay upfront, after ordering. It was a busy night and so service was a bit spotty, with servers forgetting to serve food with utensils, or requests for water had to be followed up several times.
Hits: Monggo soup - I know! Who would go out to a place like this to eat monggo? Well, I would. Over and over again. Mind blowing. Pureed lentils poured over a bowl of sauteed vegetables and flavorful pork pieces. Elevated but still comforting and homey.
Kamote Fries - different textures at play here. Crispy purple Kamote fries and the yellow, sweet ones similar to the fast food fries texture. Natural flavors only, no need for artificial flavors.
Matcha Latte - brought a smile to my face.
Miss Piggy - their take on Croques Msr & Mdm. Salty, tangy and delightfully creamy bechamel with real thick ham slices between toasted bread slices.
We ordered way more food than those listed above, but these are the ones I enjoyed the most. I also appreciated the selection of craft beers and dessert. Worth a return visit for sure.
Kandle Cafe has been one of our go to places near Tomas Morato. It is located in Mother Ignacia avenue and the first thing that you will notice is the ambiance. Everything is instagrammable, from the food, aesthetics to the overall feels. This place is great for gatherings, events and just hanging out. I think they also have a function room where you can rent out for a few hours (consumable I think?). For the food, my personal favorite is the arroz caldo (but this is a bit different from the usual arroz caldo since this is more like a cream of rice) They also have this Praline in a Can (probably my favorite of all the cakes in a can in Manila).
Food is fantastic yummy kamote fries, pleasing both to the eyes and palate. Dessert and beverages have the right amount of sweetness (guilt free dessert!) Good airconditioning system, cool ambience, friendly staff, clean and spacious restroom. Gave four stars coz it can get crowded with students reviewing, usually 2 seating on a 4 person table setup with their books and laptop which left us on a tiny table for a big number of order (not all shown on photos). There is a guard assisting you for the parking, big outdoor dining space for smokers.
The ambiance was good. It was chill and artsy but not excessively so. The food was great. We order Mr. Egoy and Ms. Eggy pasta, Kimchi Tortilla and the Cheezy QC Maki. The maki was my fave. It was so delectable, I could have had just that and be good with it. The pasta was tasty, but a little too creamy for me, could have used a little kick of spiciness, but that was just us. The kimchi tortilla was more sweet than spicy for what you'd expect when you see kimchi on the title, it was still good but could be better. Overall, would definitely go back and try the other foods and maybe order some maki again.
We were supposed to go to a different restaurant to have dinner and catch up. Thank God there’s this app that helps us look for nearby restaurants if the one we intended to go is fully booked.
Ff, we arrived at kandle cafe, and the entrance was already interesting. As we enter the place is fill with trees and some flowers which makes it cozy at night, there were chairs outside perfect for outside seating. It was a pretty well thought cafe.
It was our first time and we ordered Striploin, fresh salad, stuffed chicken, raspberry and mango juice. We were really hungry at that time and we are excited to try what they offer.
Ambiance:
5/5
Place was well lit, interesting decorations, inside seating was well spaced like the outside, it was clean. And overall pretty.
Service:
5/5
Staff were really accommodating, I forgot the cashier’s name but it was good that he recommended the juices. They were all nice and attentive
Food:
5/5
Serving was big, price was on point, taste was amazing! The greens were fresh, same with the juices. We didn’t finish then tho i already mentioned we were really hungry.
Overall awesome! ♥️
the people here are very friendly and accommodating. stayed here for hours. quite a quiet place at day, but at night, the outside area can be noisy because of the titas but its nice! ordered hot cafe latte and it was good, as well as the chocolate chip brownie(?)
ambience, coffee and employees: 5 stars! 💜
So, my college bestie and I had our catch up sesh here. I booked us a reservation for 2 and it was quickly attended to thru text message. Which is way cool for a "tito" like me.
The Food
I had Stuffed Chicken. When the waiter brought it in it was IG ready! May pa-boquet of leafy veggies. The chicken had already a flavorful taste vamped up with the herbed cream cheese. The pita bread was there in lieu of rice, so to satisfy our Filipino appetite, I guess.
Bestie had Mr. Egoy and Ms. Eggy. What I love about this dish is its experimental approach on mixing two very unusual kicks, squid ink and salted egg. How's that for a collab?
Dessert
We had tiramisu and praline. Not much to say, tho. But they certainly make the best cap for the night. So, save room for dessert!
The Ambiance
5 stars for the place. It is so cozy and flexible from a simple study area to get together kinda crib.
The service
I never got the chance to get his name, but all the love goes to kuya. So, originally we were seated inside, which is airconditioned. My college bestie is eyeing for a table outside. So we asked kuya if we could transfer outside should there be any space. When a table was for the take, we told kuya if we could go outside. Unfortunately, tho, there's a celebrity guest who just came in and wanted a seat as well. Luckily for us, kuya fought for our pre-emptive rights. This just made our night. So, thank you kuya.
All in all, Kandle is your hidden oasis in this fast-paced worklife.
Ordered:
Black Calamares P380
Stuffed Chicken P340
Malagos Chocolate Cake
Espresso P95
Flat White P145
Coffee: Happy with my espresso, whilst I noticed my friend’s flat white was a bit too bubbly. Not sure if it has been sitting for a few minutes before it got served to us. Perhas not their best drink offering, so I’ll have to try something else next time.
Food: Just wow. Everything is just delicious and glad their stuffed chicken was served with salad which is fresh and has the right citrus dressing. Although the black calamares could use some improvement since the batter came out a bit messy and not presentable, but I like it. Crunchy and also not the typical calamares you try elsewhere since batter is made with squid ink.
Place: Fell in love with it the moment we got there. You can dine in their fully-airconditioned room or relax at their al fresco style lounge with plenty of plants and comfy seats. You can grab your favorite drink and snack on your own or let it be your hang out place with friends or family. I also won’t mind going for work meetings, etc.
Price: Be prepared for about P500-P600 if you plan to visit with an empty stomach. I can’t say it’s the cheapest cafe, but quality comes with a price so this is worth your money.
Service: They can use a bit of improvement in this area. It took us some time before everything got served. After placing order, cashier didn’t even offer to communicate estimated time before serving to at least set our expectations.
Overall, it has been a wonderful visit. Will definitely be back.
Coffee is great! Staff are very accommodating and the ambiance is very ideal if you want a quick escape from the city. Mr egoy and Ms Eggy Pasta is really good
super love their beverages, especially the americano. good service too! i highly recommend. also, try some of their snacks. place is great for barkada meet ups and coffee date.
Food is nice! Me and my bf usually share a meal but this time we ordered one for each. I got the Mr. Egoy & Mrs. Eggy pasta and it was soooo good!! After dinner, we had beer and coffee. The only complain I have is that the place is too cold 🥶 But other than that, I’d surely come back! +1 for the Vespa decoration 🛵
