We just had the reception for our little one's baptism in this place and we were so happy that we did. Very accommodating and considerate from the beginning until the very end. I loved the place, just a little bit of decoration will do since their restaurant is naturally presentable. The dishes are all good. The staff and the owner are all friendly. They even help my friend in decorating the place for us, for free. And there's no corcage fee if you will bring other dishes. Thank you Migs, Kiko and to all the staff. Will visit again next time.
The food was super delicious, innovative, full of flavour and vibrant with spice and colour. “Chicken Satti” is one of my absolute favorites! they also execute outstanding service!( swear ), place is beautiful and vibe is cool -would definitely add it to your brunch bucket list!
Such a nice place. Friendly crew. And Sabroso el mga komida (delicious food). Team Good Food will definetely recommend this place.
Just had our Daughter's dedication here at Palm Grill nung March.
Maraming Salamat! God Bless!
Great food and nice interior. We loved the green chicken, tuna loin and of course the chicken satti :) Loved that there's a toy area for kids too :) This place did not disappoint :) will definitely come back :)
As a curious foodie, I couldn't pass up the chance to try out something new— like the underrated dishes from sunny Mindanao. Thankfully, I don't need to go far because Palm Grill brought these exotic flavors just within reach! ❤️
The first of its kind in Manila, Palm Grill uses authentic local ingredients, particularly a spice blend called Pamapa— ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, galangal (blue ginger), and toasted coconut.
My favorites include:
🍗 Chicken Satti: a thick soup made with taro, but unexpectedly without any gritty, powdery texture. This bright red soup comes with sticky rice balls and your choice of barbecued chicken or beef skewers. The soup has a sweet taste first, followed by a mild heat in your mouth that briefly lingers. The rice balls act as neutralizers to chew on in-between bites, while the tender piece of grilled chicken adds a smoky and savory flavor.
🍚 Turmeric Rice: bright yellow and packed with nutrients. This turmeric rice is different from the stuff I make back home because it's cooked with coconut milk for that slightly wet consistency and creamy texture almost like a risotto, albeit drier.
🍤 Locon ala Zamboanga: fresh Tiger Prawns cooked in garlic, crab fat (aligue), and coconut milk. The sauce reminds me of a spicy and creamy curry sauce. Shrimp is plump, tender and comes out of the shell easily. Enjoy it with pickled veggies— atchara— to cleanse the palate.
🍗 The Green Chicken: aka Pyanggang Manok. It's slow-cooked in coconut milk to allow the flavors to seep in before being grilled. Overall, it has an earthy taste, somewhat like a cross between curry and chimichurri— very earthy. Just wished the meat inside was more tender, since it was dry the last time we had it.
🍨 Knicker Iced Treat: the Southern cousin of halo-halo sans the ice and beans. Comes with vanilla ice cream and strawberry syrup. Includes layers of diced watermelons, ripe mangoes, banana slices, and pandan nata de coco at the bottom. Dig deep to get a taste of everything.
More deets in my When in Manila article. Thanks for having me!
Loved all of the dishes. We can taste the bits of shredded coconut in the green chicken. Don't be mistaken, it tastes nothing like curry.
The black bulalo soup was a bit spicy, but it was a unqie taste. They used chicken broth rather than beef broth. However, I expected a bit more coconut flavor, but it got lost.
The eggplant moussaka was good. The grilled eggplants were really soft, and it tasted well with the melted cheese. The pita bread was quite sweet though.
Overall, the food all have very unique flavors. The staff were all very courteous too. They asked if it was our first time, and recommended dishes to try.
ZAMBASULTA cuisine is probably new to some foodies but after consistently (not regularly but at least once a month) eating here or whenever cravings for strong Filipino flavors are strong, I eat here.
My usual order would be their Green Chicken or Pyanggang Chicken 'coz I am sure that I will be full after finishing the meal. Also, the spices are really rich and flavors are bursting. The chicken is grilled but very tender still.
I love their Cocoroons. I make sure to have one for dine and another one for take-away. One is already filling and two is sinful. If you love and appreciate coconut, this dessert is for you.
The Southern Mindanao recipes are the best. You should try Tiyula Itum, Chicken Pyanggang, Satti, and Beef Korma. I'm hoping that they open another branch in Makati or BGC so I don't have to travel all the way from Makati to Tomas Morato.
Awesome interior. Good service. Good food.
Beef Kolma is delish. Cooked in coconut milk and curry.
Curacha is smothered in a crab fat and coconut cream sauce.
Tiyula Itum is really appetizing. It consists of a bone marrow which is torched upon serving, as well as some tender beef short ribs. The bone marrow is merely just a bone.
Oswalda’s Fried and Green Chicken are tasty but the chicken are too dry. Though I heard that the Green Chicken is best for those on Keto diet.
Beef Tapa's meat is not tender at all.

small but big when it comes to food. interior was relaxing. cajun pasta with pita bread was my fav! they nailed it good! i recommend that tou check out their menu. i swear you dont need to break your bank! still have room for improvement. its kinda annoying when the crew are watching while you eat. i know they just want to cater every dinner's need real quick but they can do that in stealthy manner. overall, a good place to eat.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
First time to dine in a resto that caters Mindanaoan cuisine and it was so good and interesting! Love the interior, especially the table linen and placemats. Staff are very friendly and accomodating as well.
We tried their best seller chicken pianggang - if you have tried Alab's version, it's almost the same. Super delicious! Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Underrated restaurant in tomas morato
Food was good, staff were very friendly and accomodating, ambiance was cozy. mindanaoan food so its not your typical filipino food. Highly recommended and will definitely comeback.
A showcase of some Mindanaoan's food heritage, with modern ethnic ambiance. Food is slightly pricey, be prepared to shell out 350pesos and up. Service is really accommodating. In particular, we were served a cold side dish, which we didn't expect. They were happy to serve us a different dish to compensate.
We held our christmas party here 2 years ago. We chose this place out of the many places we've checked because of how generous and kind their staff are, the people who helped us organize our christmas party were so kind, they even gave ua discounts and we even had a taste taste.
Their food are absolutely delicious! Specially their chicken and pastas.
We had a blast, thank you palm grill 😊😊
This place was great. They serve Mindanaoan food, have big servings, and have nice interiors. I recommend their Olympus Roast more than their best selling Green Chicken. The place is very chill and gives out the indie vibe that's best for acoustic nights. You'll definitely go out of here with a full stomach. Will surely come back!
I had the green chicken which was super amazing!! The staff was kind and very accommodating. However, one of my cousins didn't like her food since it was too spicy which wasn't indicated in the menu. :( Nonetheless, the ambience was cozy and ideal for your tita/family time. Would definitely recommend to others!
Palm Grill serves quality home-made dishes from the south.
Green Chicken is a grilled chicken coated with coconut milk and various herbs and spices.
A highly flavorful dish served with an equally flavorful turmeric rice.
While Oswalda's Fried Chicken is a classic recipe of the owner's grandmother.
With a very crisp coating and a tender, moist and juicy meat.
This is one fried chicken you would want to go back for more.
Whether you're dining alone, with friends or family.
Palm Grill is one of the best choices if you're around Tomas Morato.
This quaint place doesn’t look like it but it serves quality fusion food you won’t find anywhere else. I didn’t expect to like the Green Chicken so much - but it was really good. The Eggplant Moussaka was delicious too.
Not a fan of the Chicken Satay, but it was still a very interesting and flavorful dish (you’d actually need rice when you eat it).
It would have been an impeccable dining experience if it weren't for a minor misunderstanding with the waiter about the additional P20 when you order the turmeric rice. Servers should know how to explain menu prices, especially those that have been worded ambiguously.
Anyway, the food surely made up for this small mishap. Yes, the green chicken lived up to the hype. It was juicy and perfectly roasted with that exquisite umami flavor. The sides - the slaw and the cucumber salad - were surprisingly addictive. They were refreshingly cold, sweet, and tart. Highly recommended!
My sister and I ordered the cucumber lemonade and as expected it was the powder mix type with a slice of cucumber to remind you what it's purporting to be.
The knicker iced treat was heavenly. It's their own version of the halo-halo, with watermelon and gelatin, vanilla ice cream, and some other stuff. Absolute guilty pleasure.
The green chicken duo serving size is really big. The turmeric rice was just right. It was soft but bland.
It was a bit warm inside the restaurant and yes, as mentioned, the kerfuffle over the bill left a slight bitter aftertaste, but I will surely remember that emerald chicken and hopefully savor it again very soon.

Yesterday was such a happy day!☺️☺️☺️ It was by far one of my best food experiences!
I love exploring different cuisines but honestly when it comes to Asian dishes, I can only take so much specially when the spices are too strong.
Palm Grill caters Mindanaoan cuisine here in Metro Manila. It’s located in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. I love how they balanced the spices in their dishes. Very mild, not overpowering to the palate. We ordered Chicken Pianggang(Green Chicken) which is grilled chicken dish of the Tausug people cooked with coconut milk then flavored with a special spice mixture that includes burnt coconut, Tiyula Itum which is a black soup almost like bulalo but also with burnt coconut, Satti & Curacha(Spanner Crab or Red Frog Crab commonly found in the waters of Sulu, Zamboanga and Bataan). Tiyula Itum is the winner for me because it reminds me of one of my lola’s dishes, Batchoy, though with different ingredients, the taste of the soup is somehow similar not to mention that it has bone marrow served with it torched in front of you. I just love bone marrow!😛(drooling)
Thank you Jami & Maomao for introducing me this restaurant. I can’t wait to go back.☺️❤️😘
[Late review]
I spent one of my special days here and I am glad I did.
I didn't get to take pictures of the other food though because well we were hungry and we just had to dig in. (It's not that the waiting time for the food was long, it was just a bit late that night and we've all had quite a day)
We ordered the olympus roast and green chicken (I prefer the latter better). The chicken was nicely cooked without being dried up inside so the meat was still really juicy. I also liked the sauce of the green chicken. I don't know what was in there but it was just the right mix so it doesn't really overpower your tastebuds. I also liked their turmeric rice. (it's a bit heavy in the stomach though so you may want to portion your meal well so you get to enjoy fully). We also ordered the beef (kolma), serving size for me was a bit small but you can still share it with one other friend. It was really tender and but taste was just okay for me.
They had these complimentary treats: the cocoroons which were surprisingly tasty. The sweet and tangy taste works quite well. However, it was just okay for me. It's not something that I can gobble up in one seating. I think that it has to be eaten with something else, maybe something a bit salty or maybe you can have it in between bites from the main course. Then again, that's just my opinion.
The staff were very accomodating and attentive to the customer's needs so I think that deserves some more merit.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here at palm grill :)
The Green Chicken and Oswalda's Fried Chicken are to die for. I would go back to this place with great interiors and order the same food again.
I really enjoyed the food! The green chicken is really delicious paired with the turmeric rice. Their bestseller Knicker Iced treat is also a surprise! Will come back for more of Palm Grill.
A video of Palm Grill was shared by a friend, while watching, I was trying to recall where exactly in Tomas Morato that I saw their signage, so I checked it here in Zomato. The place is clean and has a homey feel. I like their woven table covers and mats. Their marked bestseller, the Green Chicken was indeed a runaway for me, the staff even offered extra green sauce (maybe she saw the sauce smothered all over my rice). Prawns were used in their Gambas, I requested mild spiciness but still it’s really spicy but delicious. Their Creme Brulee was ok. I would like to try their other house specialties next time.
The foods are delicious. The ambience is very relaxing, also yung place is quiet kaya makakapag usap kayo ng kasama mo while eating. Best tong place na to for couples, I think. So ayun, yung mga crews are very approachable and friendly
My favorite dish here.
Turmeric rice is so genius. Mash potatoes are fluffy. Service is okay. Have to try other dishes as well it all looks so good. I also like the sounds it gives a relaxing fancy old school vibes
Excellent food! Lovely ambiance. I went here with someone who was from Zamboanga, and she definitely loved the food - from the Chicken Satti, the new Tiyula Itum to the special Zamboanga halo-halo.
There's something about dishes cooked in coconut milk that gets me. Palm Grill's The Green Chicken is no exception. Slow cooked in coconut milk (gata) and seven Asian spices, the chicken was grilled to perfection. Paired with turmeric rice and cauliflower roast, it's an absolute best-seller in the house and the taste just calls for a celebration.
Another dish we tried was their Beef Kolma (PhP 249) which was highly recommended by the staff. Served with tender beef slices stewed in coconut milk, it's an appetite-bursting meal inspired by Indian cuisine that filled the air with fragrant mouth-watering spices. Share with a friend and dive into a spectacular feast!
The dessert list isn't long but enough to make us choose one interesting item from the menu. Cocoroons (PhP 120) are made up fresh coconut bits caramelized and baked with mango puree. They're delicious plain and chewy in the middle, a great treat to end our dinner.
Tonight’s my third time to eat in Palm Grill! First was for a date and I enjoyed the food and since interiors are so instagrammable, I recommended this to my girlfriends the second time, and third time was with family! Just the perfect casual resto for whoever youre with :)
Wouldnt be back thrice if not for good food at a very affordable price and great service! I like their green chicken a lot, their curacha is also the best! BEST SAUCE EVER!!!! Reminds me of Zamboanga a lot, for today we also tried their pulled chicken burger and crepe which both did not disappoint and are in fact super tasty!!! Beef kolma is also super good but serving is quite small!
Servers are alsoooo super accommodating and is mindful of your glass of water and refills it from time to time.
Overall, I wouldnt mind a 4th visit!!! Love this restooooo :)
Actual rating: 3.8
I had the green chicken with baked potatoes and turmeric rice. The chicken was cooked well, it was juicy all throughout, even the breast. However, I felt that it was microwaved before being served because the smoke from heat that went out when I sliced the breast.
On the side though, the “sauce” tasted near laing. It was kinda oily, apparently you can make it spicier if you want, just tell the server.
The sides were normal. The baked potatoes were nothing special. Turmeric rice also tasted as expected.
I hope they add more sides like eggplant or other veggies than the typical salad-like sides.
Ambiance and service were also great. I’d still recommend this place. Good for after-gym protein meal.
Visit this place for the tastiest roast chicken, the Green Chicken here deserves that honor, in our opinion. Roasted with coconut milk, herbs and spices, this is really tasty bringing joy in every bite. It's a must try here.
Olynpus Roast Chicken is also good, flavored with peanut sauce. Both chicken dishes come with 2 sides each. We got turmeric rice, mashed potato, cucumber salad and Doc Chabby's Slaw.
We also had the Chicken Satti - chicken wings on sticks in a sweet and spicy tomato soup with rice balls. This is good too.
For the sweet ending we had Knicker Iced Treat like a fruity halo halo.
2nd update (July 2018):
We liked the food here so much we came back to try other dishes.
This time we had Eggplant Moussaka, Chicken Brochette and Beef Kolma. We liked all 3! The Moussaka is very creamy and super yummy! Beef Kolma is in a great curry thick with coconut milk and spices. A little sweet for my taste buds though. Chicken Brochette has skewers of well marinated and roasted chicken served with rice and a curry dip. We also had the lovely CocoRoons. Homemade macaroons with dessicated coconut topped with fresh mango cream. Yummy!
👍IT'S A POP! 😊
✅The location is easy to find.
✅Good and relaxing ambiance, well lighted and air-conditioned.
✅The place is clean even in the comfort room.
✅The staffs are attentive and friendly. I ordered Unlimited House Blend Iced Tea for my drinks and they make sure that the glass is always full. They asked us if the food taste is good and yes it is.
✅Affordable
🐔Chicken Satti
🍤Locon Ala Zamboanga
Hands down. Green Chicken was the best and perfect with Turmeric rice! 😊
If you’re into spicy food, try the Labuyo chicken! Our tastebuds were on fire. It went well with the Cajun Pasta. 🌶🙌🏻
End your meal with the Knicker Treat. You won’t regret it. We loved everything. 😍
I love the interiors! Initially we dined here because of the interiors haha Ordered their best selling The Green Chicken which didn’t disappoint. Their Locon ala zamboanga which are prawns cooked in special sauce also tastes good but a bit pricey for the servings. For the dessert we ordered knicker iced treat which I love so much that I was tempted to order for a second round haha Will definitely go back to try their curacha (Deep sea crabs) and for 2 orders of knicker iced treat 😋
This is a fancy natured-inspired restaurant that houses Mindanaoan cuisine around Metro Manila. Bringing the pride of Southern taste, Miguel Moreno make their home recipes into a sharable meals to everyone.
Palm Grill is proud to deliver these sumptuous dishes to Manila palette. Chicken Piyanggang a.k.a. Green Chicken is one of the best dishes in Zamboanga and people approves this. Inspired by Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine, a good thigh cut of chicken is slow cooked in coconut milk, infused in seven Asian spices. One strong spice used is Turmeric and it adds great amount of fragrance and color to the chicken. Served with generous cups of rice and a choice of two side dishes. Enjoy this at P270 (Solo 1/4 chicken), P390 (Duo 1/2 chicken), P720 (League 1 whole chicken with 3 side dishes).
Refreshing Spicy Gambas is cooked in fresh chilis, tomatoes, lemon, salt and pepper, tossed in garlic bits. Amazingly good choice for spicy lovers.
Chicken Satti, a Zamboanga favorite, is a breakfast dish from Tausug where an evenly grilled chicken is sitting on two sticky rice balls and drenched all over sweet and sour soup. Be careful to not underestimate the spice power of this. Get this at P200 only. It's always safe to have fresh and cooling drinks. Like their trio coolers, these trio. The classics Cucumber lemonade, Blue lemonade, and Pink lemonade, are your instant drinks to beat all kinds of heat.
If you are craving for pasta, Chicken Meatballs at P230 is your call. The perfectly cooked tomato spaghetti is partnered with chunky balls of chicken meat that is enjoyable at every bite. A lot of pasta selections to choose from: Spaghetti Con Pesto, Spaghetti Ala Alfredo, Con Spanish Sardines, Oven Roasted Cajun, and Marinara Con Camaron.
Chicken on skewers or Chicken Brochette is a meal you would order if you like a rich taste and aroma of grilled bbq. Served along side with peanut sauce dip and melon slaw. Available at P230.
Palm Grill opens its doors to events, parties, and specials occasions. Just make sure to inquire few weeks prior as most of holidays and weekends are booked regularly.
If you are also in food eating contests, try joining their Labuyo Chicken challenge and win exciting prizes.
Overall, a good feast experience. Good job to Palm Grill.
The green chicken and the satti were spot on. The other Zamboanga cuisine were passable if you're craving them. My friends liked the pasta and moussaka. The turmeric rice was a nice touch, it went well with the green chicken. They also had fresh curacha on hand, with the rich coconut milk sauce similar to the famous sauce from Zamboanga.
This place has been recommended by friends a few times so when I got the chance, I went straight for the green chicken.
Got the Solo for P229. You have a choice of spicy or not and you may also choose the meat part, I got the thigh part. It comes with 2 sides so I got the roasted potatoes(loved!) and roasted cauliflower(no good- just because I'm not a fan of the vinegar taste, it was similar to kilawin)- it was changed to mashed potatoes that was delicious, soft and buttery!
The Chicken itself may not look appetizing but it was really good, it's somewhat like laing but without the leafy parts. The coconut milk and 7 Asian spices did not overpower and the portion was a lot.
Servers were accommodating although food came in late and paisaisa. Ambiance wise was ok wooden all over and well lit. Board games were available to borrow too.
Whenever I crave for Satti (Jolo Sulu specialty) in the big city, I always make sure to visit Palm Grill Tomas Morato to satisfy my cravings. They serve native foods from Jolo,Sulu like Satti, Pianggang the green chicken, and some famous foods from Zamboanga like the Curacha filled with yummy coconut sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant. Been here 5x. Will definitely come back and eat more of the Satti. 😁
***Must try: Satti, Green Chicken, Oswalda's Fried Chicken, Curacha, Knickerbocker for the dessert.

The crew were all accommodating and nice. They took the time to explain to us their menu and offered the bestsellers.
My mom loved the green chicken so much! It was tasty. The moussaka also won our hearts!
Will surely come back! ❤️
Tried this resto via eatigo got a 20% discount at 6pm. Well we ordered the whole green chicken, half olympus roast chicken, beef kolma, eggplant moussaka, siti, gambas, mango crepe, knicker iced treat and macaroons. The food tasted good specially the beef kolma, green chicken and the eggplant moussaka. The gambas is a down for us the shrimp.is not fresh and small serving. The price is not that affordable abit pricey and the there is 10% service charge.
The rice cost 60pesos it seems like half cup only. We ordered 3cups turmeric and 2cups plain rice.for 360 pesos already for the rice. The food serving is small. Well the place and service is good. All the food cost us 3400pseos tnx to eatigo for 20% discount so we only pay 2700pesos for only 4adults and 2kids.
A taste of home 👍👍👍👍👍 the familiar taste of satti and knickerbocker... The green chicken was so good too. Service was prompt. Overall? Will definitely recommend and go back. Specially to fellow zamboangueños who misses home so dearly 🤓
I thought there was something different about their "best seller".got curious of the look so I ordered it.I was expecting a spicy taste-like along with those greenery thing on top of that chicken but after tasting it,I just ate laing chicken/chicken sa gata kind of thing!though it was good, but that was it! I liked it overall bec I love laing 😘. My friends said the shrimp was tasty and that "halo-halo" version of theirs was a 5🌟!
Palm Grill is a pleasant surprise in the stretch of very familiar food along Tomas Morato.
We ordered a full roasted Green Chicken, going along with sides of mashed and wedged potatoes.
The Green Chicken, their proclaimed best-seller, is just a common chicken in gata. Nothing special, albeit good.
We also got Alfredo pasta, and I'd put it at 3/5.
The service is great -- 4.5/5.0
Ambience - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cleanliness- 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Their specialty chicken (green chicken) is a must-try.
Place is awesome and the service and food is great love the chicken sati kulma and green chicken the mango shake is the bomb
It’s a kids atmosphere place is highly recommended this is what you call a place away from home
If you love coconut milk or anything gata, their Green Chicken is a must try!
Was surprised by their Cauli Roast because it was served cold and I didn’t expect it to be tangy. However, I really enjoyed their rice.
Right after EATSperiencing Open Table Restaurant this week, I, together with some friends, went to another restaurant in Quezon City. This time, along the busy streets of Tomas Morato. The strip is just filled with coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. The competition among establishments is really really tough. That’s why new concepts have to be creative enough to get their fair share of patrons. In this edition of EATSplorations, I will be sharing with you about my EATSperience of Southern Philippine Delights at Palm Grill in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Palm Grill serves up dishes with all the great flavors that Mindanao is known for. Pretty sure a lot of you haven’t really tried or are not yet familiar with what great things Mindanaoan food has to offer, right? Keep on reading to find out if a food trip down to Tomas Morato is worth all the traffic or not, in my Palm Grill EATSperience. Enjoy!
Place was well lit and spacious. Table size for two persons are big enough that plates don't crowd when served. Food is good and the friendly staff are better! They were so accommodating and were jus all smiles the whole time. We ordered pasta with spanish sardines, it was really good but wished the serving was bigger. Then we had their speciality, green chicken which goes perfect with their turmeric rice and mashed potato. We had mango crepe for dessert. Overall, the experience was a 5.0. Will definitely go back here! 👌
Met the owner and staff. Everyone including the guard are very nice. We usually come here every weekends and always greeted like it's my first visit! Will surely recommend this place to both locals and foreign friends! :)
Had the satti, beef kulma, roast chicken and beef in red wine all of which was fantastic and gave justice to the price. It was so worth it.
The ambiance was great and we got to play some board games while waiting for the food. The waitress was awesome. Knew the menu like the back of her hand and was attentive.
I've been here 3 times already and the food is as good as the first time. All their main dishes of chicken are based on and individuals acquired taste so it would differ from person to person. The service here is really good too. Waiters keep asking about the food and they refill the condiments and sauce immediatelt when needed. Will come here again and highly recommend this place.
I read the reviews of Palm Grill and knew had to try it soon. And it did not disappoint.
Loved the interiors of the place. Spacious, very nice lighting, having its own rustic charm. We ordered their Green Chicken, Oswalda's Fried Chicken and Olympic Roast. Chicken was tender, juicy. Loved all three, as they each had their own distinct flavor. Wasn't a fan of their side dishes though. My son had their kiddie meal and he did not like it. I tasted their spaghetti and it wasn't yummy. But the rest of the components of his meal - fries and chicken were good. Servers were attentive to our needs and were very welcoming.
Would go back to try the rest of their menu 👍🏼
place is very nice! Staffs are very friendly, food is definitely good! Will recommend this to my friends. Overall, it was an amazing experience! 👌🏼
Went here last night to have dinner with my friends. It was easy to locate cause the place was just along Tomas Morato. They have a few parking slots in front of their resto and the guard was nice in assisting us for our parking.
When I came in I noticed that the place was well lighted and the staff at the front door was also accommodating. We had our table at the 2nd floor and there were only a few people dining at that time.
What we ordered:
Whole green chicken with 3 sides - 4.5/5. We loved this dish, its like you're eating chicken with Laing but it wasn't Laing, it was their sauce which has coconut milk and spices. The chicken was really tender and flavorful. A must try.
The turmeric rice was also good.
Pita bread was a okay.
The cauli roast was good, you can really taste the orange in it.
Kolma beef - 3.5/5 this one is like kaldareta but with a little bit of sweetness on it. The meat was tender.
Fish and chips - 3.5/5. Also good but nothing special.
Shrimp with their own sauce - 3/5. We didn't see this on the menu but we saw it on zomato so we asked for this one. A little bit pricey. Nothing special. The shrimp was a bit overcooked cause we had a hard time peeling it.
The owner went to us and asked if we were enjoying the food and asked us how was it, she was really nice.
I'll be coming back here to try their other kinds of chicken.
Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 4/5
Value - 4/5
Customer service - 4/5
Wow! Sobrang sulit po dito! Ang ganda nung place, chillax music, may parking space at syempre ang pinaka importante masarap ang food at abot kaya! I hope I'll be able to recreate their Cauliflower Side Dish because it tastes so good and is healthy! You wouldnt want to miss this place in Morato!

The food and customer service is good, in my opinion.
They have some magazines and games (Jenga, etc.) to keep you and your friends/family entertained while waiting or have some fun after eating.
I would definitely eat here again!

Great to be greeted by the owner. The green chicken tasted nice. The prawn though is a bit pricey. Nothing that special witht he prawns. We ordered 2 soups, one of which was "oily" but tasted nice! Serving size of the chicken was good. And the cucumber lemonade was good too!
Super nakakabusog grabe! Lahat ng inorder namin, very satisfying, and delicious! :) will definitely come back for more! Kudos to the staff, who are very friendly and know how to take care of their customers :)
This new restaurant along Tomas Morato is surely one to look forward to. If you are looking for a new and unique way to chicken dishes? Well, Palm Grill is a must try! My family and I dined in this restaurant twice in the course of 2 months. We loved how simple but good the food is also not to forget the friendly staff. The ambiance is so inviting and I love the fact it is a family restaurant.
Here are what we tried with them:
1. Green Chicken - Amazingly good
2. Roast Chicken - My dad loved it!
3. Beef kolma - Wow!!!!
4. Locon (tiger prawns) ala Zamboanga - to die for!!! That sauce!!!!!
5. Knicker Iced treat - a perfect ender to a sumptuous meal.
Final Verdict? Go TRY!!!! You won't ever regret it! Ever!!!!!
P.S. We had no time to take photos, my family dislikes taking photos of our food! Teeheee😅😅😅
the green chicken was great but the chicken was a bit roasted.
the pesto was so so.
my boyfriend doesn't like his side dish called cauli but mashpotato was great and also the ambiance
New taste!
The food was undeniably good! You can never go wrong choosing their Green Chicken because it is really delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes.
The place is cozy, inviting even. I like the food because its on the healthy side and Im on a diet!haha
Ordered:
The Green Chicken with cauli roast and slaw sides - the green sauce brought it for the chicken. Without it, it would be naaaah. Sides were okay, the cauli roast had a bitter taste to it while the slaw was a good complitment to the chicken.
Chef Mike's Moussaka - if you like tomato ketchup as much as I do, go order this! I give it a 5! :) Im thinking this would be a great match to the fried chicken.
I guess, its just our orders didn't go together. Id still come back.
This Restaurant is soooooo superb and great! The ambiance and place was great, it is very relaxing and convinient. The food is so so sooo delicious at very low rates! Their green chicken is the best I'm telling you! I've been here for three times and the service of their crew never dissapoints me. Salute to the restaurant owners!
1 Simple menu,
1 complicated dish
1 perfect son of a gun chicken did the right way
Will come back again!!!
Indeed, good food is the foundation of genuine happiness
Touche on that :)
A few weeks ago, we had a lunch at Palm Grill along Tomas Morato in QC.
You can’t miss it, it’s right along the Morato at the corner of Scout Castor, and across from Book & Borders. When I was first invited, I thought it was just another bar / resto in QC because of the name “Palm Grill”, but I’m glad I gave it a chance because their chicken dishes are what you will keep coming back for!
THE FOOD
Great food and nice interior. We loved the green chicken, tuna loin and of course the chicken satti :)
Loved that there's a toy area for kids too :)
This place did not disappoint :) will definitely come back :)

Ambience - 4/5
Clean and spacious. Though it doesn't look like a "grill" place.
Food - 5/5
"Beef in Red wine sauce" is basically Kaldereta. However, I'm blown away by how delicious it is. The Green Chicken is something really new. It's like Laing + Chicken. Still, very adventurous flavor.
Service - 5/5
Courteous staff. 👍🏻
Price for quality - 5/5
Price for quantity - 4/5
Technology - 5/5
Cards accepted.
Something out of place is the "game corner". I don't know why they have this. For the customers waiting? Why not stick to board games and not the "noisy" games.
Good service, enticing food, love the ambiance! Plus the owners and staff are all so friendly! You get your money's worth! I have been coming back for more.
nice place and nice staff.. food was okay for us.. the chicken meals are yummy. we enjoyed the hospitality of the staffs . they have childrens toys which you can enjoy while waiting for the food. we will surely come back . #sundaydinnerafterchurch
Went here and tried their "Green Chicken".
The presentation was perfect, and the use of the blue plate really made the chicken look good. I also found the way the turmeric rice was presented to be unique.
I'd give their chicken a 7/10. They could work more on bringing out the flavor of their chicken though.
Personally, i thought it was kind of dependent on their sauce. But it's a good dish nonetheless and i'll be coming back to try the other things on their menu.
The price is reasonable enough for me. The ambiance is inviting and warm as well. The staff were visible, approachable and very observant. I also felt it was kind of humbling for the owner to ask around the quests if they were enjoying their food and the dining experience.
I do hope the place gets to keep its warmth, ambiance and good service when it becomes popular.
Bien sabroso!
When I heard that there was a restaurant in Manila making piyanggang, I immediately looked it up and found this gem. We braved the traffic/MRT last night to try the delicacies which I've not had in a looooooong time. And boy, was it worth it! We had the Piyanggang (Green Chicken) in League, Chicken Satti, Tuna Loin and the Knickerbocker (Knicker Ice cream) for dessert.
It was chicken overload, and it brought back a sense of nostalgia and home. I liked the sauce on the satti. The piyanggang was delicious, and honestly we were all fighting for the remaining dollops of sauce on the plate. The side dishes (Doc Chabby slaw, Cauli roast and Roast Potato) were unusual but welcome tastes for our palates. The tuna loin, according to my dad, was cooked to perfection. The knickerbocker was just right after a hearty meal, not to sweet and oh-so creamy.
A few comments though:
-I missed the spice. Piyanggang and Satti that I remember was way more spicy than what we had. But then again I have a high tolerance for spicy food, and I understand that the resto had to accommodate to the taste of the people in its vicinity.
-Satti is best with puso. While the rice is ok, I think the rice puso is what makes it special. And I know this is a chicken restaurant, but I was kinda hoping for a mini beef bbq stick with the satti.
-Knickerbocker was kinda small for the price. Also there was gulaman... I remember this being an all-fruit and ice cream dessert.
Still, I give a five-star review for giving me a taste of home. Muchas gracias Palm Grill!

Palm Grill is relatively one of the new restaurants in Tomas Morato. Their food has Indo-Malay influences as one of the owners was born in Jolo, Sulu.
Yannie and Miguel welcomed me during their Bloggers Day on May 3. I was scheduled at 3pm with Johnbunag Harvard and FOOD IS LIFE PH. Miguel told us that Palm Grill is actually a chicken restaurant, but they have now expanded their menu to have other items such as seafood and beef.
It's interesting to know that most of their best-sellers are family recipes. Therefore, expect good and awesome home-cooked meals. Or at least the taste and feel of it.
We were served Vita Coco and unlimited coffee while waiting for other bloggers to arrive. When we he group was finally completed, we were served the following.
** Green Chicken
This delicious dish is a recipe from Miguel's mother. The chicken meat is cooked for 1hr and 30min in coconut milk and 7 Asian spices. It's then grilled for the charred taste. It's safe to say that this is my favorite dish in Palm Grill. This is packed with flavors. I'm so curious to know each of the 7 secret Asian spices as their combination is just perfect. I love the tenderness of the meat. Lastly, the turmeric rice in this dish is heavenly. It's the perfect pair for this dish.
** Chicken Satti Soup
This spicy thick soup with riceballs and grilled chicken was legit AF. It's a bit spicy but I liked it. We were informed that this is a Mindanaoan dish, and I'm happy that they brought this good dish in Manila.
** Pinoy Sliders
Chicken patties in pandesal. Though I liked the patties, it would have been better if the pandesal buns were toasted. The pesto pasta on the side can be improved as well.
** Oswalda's Fried
This is named after the owner's grandma. It's a different take on fried chicken. It tastes like homemade fried chicken, and it works for me. Yipee.
The restaurant has OOTD wall where you can have your group photos taken. Such a nice concept. The second floor, I think, can also be used for functions or gatherings.
Thank you Palm Grill and EJ for the invite!
Go for it ! The food is delicious I really loved the green chicken ! My friends ordered the fried chicken and the fish and chips which was as much yummy as my order. I really liked the ambiance, the service is good and I especially appreciate the honor of the restaurant to come and to welcome me at Palm Grill. It's a different taste of what you can find in Manila and I am very thankful to them to make us discover a new kind of food.
The best chicken meal i ever tasted - Green chicken! Great ambiance too! This is certainly a hidden gem here in QC. Will definitely go back 😊😋
Chicken has always been a favorite of Filipinos. I was really excited to try this restaurant as they serve home recipes!
Palm Grill serves different types of chicken with recipes passed down from their family. Talking to one of the owners, Miggy, I found out that he comes from Mindanao and these are the types of food that his family prepares. I didn't really know that these types of recipes existed!
I was able to try their green chicken, Chicken Satti, Oswaldas Fried, Sampler which consists of the Chicken Burger and Fish &Chips.
Their signature dish is the green chicken. This is cooked with coconut oil and coconut milk. They also put a secret recipe of spices which gives the meat its color and flavor. Their chicken satti is for the ones who love spicy food! I really loved the Sampler which came with the burger and fish & chips. The burger was really good! Definitely one of the best chicken burgers I've tried. The oswaldas fried was also one of my favorite dishes from here!! I can't explain what it tastes like, all I can say is that it's really good! You should definitely try it!
Overall I believe that you should check this restaurant out! They serve really good food with a story that comes with it! Plus the service is also really good! Their staff is always so attentive and pleasant to talk to.
Tomas Morato has turned from a drinking hotspot to an area filled with restaurants offering affordable and delectable food. New concepts seem to open every month and I often find myself overwhelmed by the growing number of options. But hearing that this new chicken place offers superb "green" poultry made it a bit easier for me to decide.
Chicken is a common thing in any cuisine so when I was invited to attend Palm Grill grand launch I was expecting too much but was again surprised with amazing flavor they gave on their chicken dishes.
Palm Grill is located at Tomas Morato just across Book and Borders cafe. One of the owner of this place is Nelson Canlas of GMA News Team. Their dishes are heritage family recipe of his partner Miggy. Their dish boast what filipino flavor has more to offer. Here are the list of dish we got to try.
🐔The Green Chicken - Their signature dish. Don't confuse it to being organic like me haha. This was called Green chicken because of the green texture of the spices they used on the chicken. This is amazingly good. It was like a cross over of Laing and Chicken. Surprisingly as per miggy they didn't use and leafy thing on the spices to make it green. I highly recommend this chicken and it was my fave!
🐔Chicken Satti - this is a famous zamboanga spicy chicken dish. I was happy that they brought this dish here in manila because it was spicy good. BBQ Chicken wing on a spicy soup that comes with two sticky rice ball. I love the mixture of the smokey bbq and spicy flavor while having a hint of sweetness in it. So proud of this filipino dish! We should have more of this kind of this dishes that originate in the province!
🐔Pinoy Slider - Pandesal chicken burger. Another nice twist to a chicken burger. Big serving and love the chicken patty it was tender.
🐔Oswaldas Fried - Their version of fried chicken. It was good but for me it was the typical filipino fried chicken.
🐔Fish and chips - this one was not too impressive a bit soggy.
Overall I highly recommend people to try the green chicken and chicken satti. They also got some other interesting chicken like the labuyo. Wow another spicy dish. Definitely will visit for more of those chicken!
Kudos also to Sinon the King of Catwalk that made it more of a fun fun event!!!
I come from Canada this is one amazing place. One of the best tasting cleanest restaurants in the Philippines I ate at. It's not expensive. It is amazingly delicious food. One of the cleanest restaurants in Philippines. Great design modern look. I love how you can see the excellent kitchen to show you making things, how clean the kitchen is. The menu has great choices. I must add the French Fries were some of the best I have EVER had. Thanks hopefully you make it to this outstanding restaurant. Thanks Palm Grill !
I've always wanted to visit this place ever since it opened this month. I'm so glad that I finally had the chance to check out this new kid on the block, and boy, I wasn't disappointed.
First off, the place is spacious and well-lit. The place is clean and the interior design minimalistic.
Service was also good. The staff were attentive and prompt with their service.
The food, well, it literally made me smile on the first bite.
I was planning on being cheap and order the lunch special, but I decided that since this is my first time visiting Palm Grill I should splurge a little.
I ordered one of their best-sellers, The Green Chicken, I congratulate myself for making the right decision. I had the solo plate which included rice and a choice of side dish. I upgraded my plain rice to Turmeric rice for just 20 pesos and chose the Roasted Potato. I added a glass of Watermelon shake to wash it all down and cool me off since it was scorching hot outside. Service takes about 15-20 minutes, but since there wasn't a lot of customers during my visit, I got my food after a few minutes.
When my food was served I was surprised to see how it looked. It did look a little blackish-green, but since I just couldn't wait to have a taste of it I dug in right away. As I've said, the first bite made me smile. I just couldn't put my spoon and fork down. I just kept on chowing down until I realized I finished my food faster than it took for them to serve it.
The only down side of my experience was that the serving of the rice was a bit little for my appetite. The chicken also has a tendency to be a little dry. As for the price, its kind of pricey, but hey, its food. I'd rather spend a little bit more on something that will fill my bottomless-pit of a tummy than splurge on something that won't fill me.
My final verdict: Lunch at Palm Grill again tomorrow, anyone? ;)
P.S. I wasn't able to take a photo of the Roasted Potato. Low EQ. :p
Very good food reminds us so much of Tausog cuisine! We recommend the Green Chicken and Chicken Satti! Cauliflower side dish is also good. We will come back!
I was invited to Palm Grill‘s grand “hatching” this May, a place that highlights some chicken-based dishes with Indo-Malay influences. Inspired by the Southern Mindanao dish called “Pyanggang” or blackened coconut curry chicken, Palm Grill’s Green Chicken is a homemade recipe by Melissa Cabel Moreno. Cooked in coconut milk for 1.5 hours with toasted coconut and 7 Asian spices specially packed in Zamboanga, the Green Chicken has been tweaked to have a sweeter finish. It goes great with Turmeric Rice!
