Selection is varied and lots of nice different takes on the usual chinese dishes. The egg yolk pao is to die for. Could not get enough of it even though I was already so full. Will have more of it on our next visit. The discount promo is a welcome treat for late and hang out eaters.
Causeway congressional branch is my favorite Chinese seafood restaurant every now and then, The staff are very accommodating that's why I keep coming back to that place.

My husband, our friends and I planned to go elsewhere for dinner, but instead, we tried this busy-looking corner restaurant in Banawe. It was “love at first taste” for us.
There are hundreds of Cantonese restaurants in Metro-Manila, but somehow, Causeway Seafood Restaurant has tastier dishes presented attractively and the restaurant’s ambiance wasn’t bad either. (I’m used to Ongpin’s hole-in-the wall, no frill cafes in Binondo.)
It was our first time in Causeway and we didn’t expect to be served authentic Cantonese cuisine. Fortunately, the universe seemed to have conspired for us! We immediately fell in love with the appetizers, a siomai-like creation with diced shrimp & broccoli, and soft bean curd filled with minced pork. After tasting those two dim sum, we wanted to order more, but we had five main dishes yet! The stewed beef served in a white porcelain bowl with a warmer was the best I’ve tasted in Manila, maybe in all of Asia! The spices, the tenderness of the marbled beef and the tangy radish were to die for! The grilled squid was so good we had to hurry to get our share before my husband ate it all. The yang chow fried rice was different and I can’t quite tell why... Maybe it was the way the rice was cooked and seasoned, or because Causeway used some smaller-grain jasmine rice, but it was very good. The pancit canton (egg noodles) was their specialty - it had more “sauce” than those we ate at UNO, Emerald, Tao Yuan, etc. and it was good too. The most expensive dish we ordered, a cold mixed plate of duck, white chicken, crispy pork belly and BBQ pork was as expected, nothing to rave about...
I know we’ll be back again - they have 50% off dim sum promos from 2-6 & 9-12 pm, and we’ll try their other seafood offerings! Apparently, Causeway started with the Banawe branch 21 years ago, and now have 5 restaurants in Quezon City. With the authentic cuisine, the ambiance and the attentive service, it’s easy to see why they have managed to stay on top of the game for more than two decades.

February 4, 2019, the night prior to the Chinese New Year. I made early appointment to ensure that myself, wife and daughter would be accommodated (Chinese restos in Banawe are always full during the Chinese New Year!). I was immediately accommodated, expecting my company to arrive at 8pm, I was there at a quarter before 7pm. They took my orders that I had chosen from the menu available at the Zomato app. The waitress appeared surprised: does Causeway management know that Zomato exists? Consequently I ordered: assorted cold cuts, boiled beef with special sauce, salt and pepper squid, Halaan taosi, Ma Chang, Safood Taro puff and Spring Roll. For the price of Php 480 (small), the cold cuts were worth it because the portions for asado pork, soy chicken, roast liempo, seaweed were substantial--there was even a chopped leg of roast duck (first time I expereinced this in Causeway!). The breading of the salt and pepper squid just fell off--needs improvement. Halaan taosi (nylon shell in taosi) was excellent. The dish I consider a failure was the boiled beef with special sauce: I had to spit out the following seeds: coriander, wollfian berry, star anise, pepper seeds, etc... I wrote a complaint to the management that they should not include all the seeds and serve the soup with it... customer could choke! the soup could have been delicious...a waste of compliment...Service was nonetheless courteous and prompt, thus completing my celebration of the year of the earth pig.
Causeway is the ultimate comfort food, and a mainstay at Banawe. My mom. Had an upset stomach so she was craving for congee, as such, we ended up at Causeway
While here, we ordered:
- Fish fillet congee: good value for money at PHP 155. Their congee is always a good choice, regardless of which condiment you choose
- Mapo tofu: we got the small size at PHP 310. A bit steep, but the serving size is pretty big. We struggled to finish it between the two of us
- Beef Chinese tenderloin style: this is served sweet and I love it BUT it was ridiculously pricey at PHP 380. For that price, you basically for 5 pcs of beef which is just sad
Overall, will come back. But probably after 9pm so we can avail of the dinsum
Hands down, the best Chinese restaurant I've been in Metro Manila. Food is authentic, very good and most of all price is reasonable compared to other Chinese food chains/ restaurants.

All time favorite dimsum place! The best siomai, and spare ribs! Grew up loving this place, family go to, introduced by my Father where I inherited the love for food. He would eat here early in the morning and I will wake up with siomai and congee, and sometimes with chicken feet at the table as his usual take aways. Miss the old days! Just introduced this now to my love and will introduce this to my 1 year old niece soon and to my future kids.☺️ We tried beancurd too, and it has became one of my fave.
If you want cheap but authentic Chinese dimsum, this is the place to go. They have a variety of dimsum from siomai to spare ribs. I also love their seafood noodles and their white chicken :)
I commend the chef for a very tasty course that we had. Palatable and mouth watering. Plus we didn't waited too long. Staff are very accommodating and treatment was superb! Ambiance is relaxing and I highly recommend to have your 2nd time around.

We celebrated my sister-in-law’s birthday here and we had so much food! I forgot all the names of the food we ate so I can only describe each one vaguely 😂 I liked their hakao! It was very affordable for 4 pieces. My favorite might just be their fish fillet with tofu.
Their branch in Banawe is really good for family gatherings since their separate room is quiet enough for your own private gathering. :)
Stopped by for a despidida dinner. We ordered a whole range of different food. The suckling pig entree was nice and crispy. The spinach seafood soup was also quite nice. Wasn't a big fan of the fried rice though, quite eggy but also a bit clumpy. For me the best part was dessert. The cold mango sago was really tasty and refreshing.
The foods are superb. I'm not a fan of seafoods but this is the first time that I added a seafood restaurant into my list. The service is very much okay even the location.
You can never go wrong with authentic Chinese (HK style) cooking! Servings are generous, pricing affordable and noticeably cheaper than the ones in other cities.
Whether you go with family, friends or if you are hosting a meal for a foreign guest, just call the head waiter or menu manager and get recommendations and point away. Off-the-menu options also available by special request.
Best time to go is about 8-8.30pm for dinner. You get to choose from their ala carte menu, and eat some appetizers 1st. By 9pm, order from their dimsum which will be at 30% off!

I'am highly recommending this restaurant. The food was so delicious and the price suits the quality and the quantity of your order. The place is so clean especially their comfort room. When you take out your food, they will prepare it in front of you not like the other Chinese restaurants. This just show that your take out is packed up clean and safe.
After the renovation, this deserve a 5-star rating. Their dimsums are great and they have a promo. Plus the seafood which are fresh from the tank.

Had dinner here had been here so many times. The place is new renovated place is nice. Food tasted good also love their dimsum love the tendon dimsum and chicken roll dimsum. The seafood noodles tasted good also. Service is good. Maybe the problem would be the parking.
Previously during my last visit, the place looks dirty, but because of their rrenovation not only does the place look so clean, but it looks so fancy.
Their Chinese food are great and delicious and more appetizing compared to their previous atmosphere. They have leveled up to the point that they want to appeal further because of their famous dumplings. This is a great place for family gathering or party to eat and enjoy Chinese cuisine.
It’s been a while since I’ve dined at Causeway, years, probably. There was a time when it was the only place for a Chinese-style lauriat family get together in the Banawe area.
Anyway, I recently had the chance to revisit Causeway when some foodie friends invited me to have dinner with them. I was happy to see that Causeway had undergone some renovations.

With the strong competition there is between seafood restaurants in the metro, Causeway Seafood Restaurant proves itself a cut above the rest given the uniqueness of their food lineup. I visited Causeway Seafood Restaurant 1 in Quezon City on a sponsored invite just recently and I had a remarkable feast there.
The first thing that they served on our table became the highlight of our food experience at Causeway. This pumpkin encased dish definitely caught our attention. It had cheese pumpkin soup with assorted seafood in it. As expected, this creamy soup was so good and the combination of its flavors worked well together.
Served next was their Thailand style baked prawns. The huge, perfectly cooked prawns were served on a plate, with thick and mildly spicy sauce. It came together with sweet fried bread, giving off a nice contrast to the savory prawns.
My favorite thing that was served to us then was their lapu-lapu with abalone saice. It's not a typical steamed fish dish, and they had it deboned already. The sauce complemented the taste of the fish well.
We were also served their diced beef with potato cubes. It seemed like an American-inspired dish, but with Chinese spices. The beef was unbelievably tender, while the potatoes were nicely cooked. This one is at a great value for only Php800, and serving is good for five to six people.
Us guests were craving for rice, and so we were served more than what we've asked for. However, we weren't served typical cooked white rice, but we had assorted seafood rice soup that was served from a cauldron on a cart. It was just divine. Savory and satisfying, the soup was already a full meal on its own.
Capping off the whole food ensemble was Causeway's Lohan vegetable with watermelon. Just like the other dishes, this one was creatively presented to us. Aside from it looking Instagram-worthy, it was also refreshing and delicious!
Finally, we have a game changer amongst Chinese restaurants in the Philippines. Book a reservation at Causeway's and enjoy their food with your family, friends, or with your workmates.

Causeway is located at Banaue and is really a popular Chinese restaurant around that area. I remember dining here with family when I was still studying so an invite here made me excited. Thank you Harvard as always!
We came in large group and we were seated at the second floor. I got surprised how elegant this part of the restaurant is. It’s for bigger group of diners I suppose. The second floor is really huge that you may ask if you can reserve this for a private gathering.
Anyway, let’s go to the food!
** Assorted Seafood with Cheese in Pumpkin Bowl
This one was my favorite among the dishes that were served. The presentation was really nice that this was served in a huge pumpkin bowl. It was so creamy and each spoonful is so packed with flavors.
** Baked Prawn Thailand Style
I really love prawns in general so I enjoyed this dish too. The prawns were huge! The sauce was flavorful as well and has the right balance of salt and cream.
** Shredded Chicken with Fresh Fruit Salad
The watermelon, melon, and mangoes were refreshing to eat. For that fact alone, I’m already solved. Anyway, the chicken meat was mixed with mayonnaise and cream. I prefer a different dressing tho.
** Lapu-lapu with Abalone Sauce
The fish was huge! I think the one that’s served was a little more than 1 kilo. The meat was so soft and the sauce was very rich in flavor.
** Diced Beef Cubes with Potato
Though I really love beef and potatoes in general, I think this dish can still be improved by adding more beef cubes. Each cube was packed with flavors and cooked perfectly but the potatoes overpowered its taste.
** Assorted Seafood Rice Soup
This was cooked in front of us so the freshness was guaranteed. Also,it has this inviting aroma that made me curious about its taste. And alas! IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. Not sure why, but nothing really special about this, but it really worked for me.
** Lo-han Vegetable with Wintermelon
To be honest, I wasn’t able to try much of this. I only tasted the wintermelon and skipped the rest.

I love salted egg and anything made with it. I really loved the egg yolk pao. The mushroom pao looked like a real mushroom! It has this earthy flavor that I got to enjoy. Not really much fan of mushrooms but I liked this one. The seafood taro puff was good too. I took the last piece and it was a good decision that I still tried this despite being too full.
The service here was really good. All the staff were very helpful in our needs. They even helped in achieving all our foodie shots. One of the owners was also there giving some details about the food. It was a fun dinner and I’ll definitely be back for more.
I have always loved Chinese food and I don’t consider it really as an international cuisine at all. Chinese food is one of my comfort food. If you’re not from Asia, you might not know this, but China even before the Philippines was colonized by Western countries, already had a great influence to my country, The Philippines. From culture, to race/ancestry, to tradition and of course, to food. So never be surprised if we have Filipino dishes that are almost similar or contain a greatly-influenced Chinese taste. Heck, we even have the oldest China town in the world (well except for the ones in China of course! Duh!)

There are two branches of Causeway in Banawe: the first one is the Chinese fine dining restaurant (this is the 2nd stop) and the other one is the dim sum restaurant/ place (nearby with the fine dining).

Good Food, but even better service! One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Waiters were quick and attentive, ambiance was truly upper class. This restaurant is in a class of its own in this area. Causeway may have been previously known for their Dimsum, but they've really stepped out of the box and created new and exciting dishes to complement their 5 star service.
Good restaurant, I initially had low expectations eating in Causeway 1 but they are more than their reputation for great dimsum food, they've really done well to have a great mix of food from the Sze Chuan Beef, Tiger prawn in thai sauce to the blueberry spareribs. Truly an unforgettable experience along with great service.
First of all, service was a delighter. Servers and waiters were ready to assist you at any moment. Even at pouring an empty cup of tea, they'd offer to do it for you. And it even gets better, there's no service charge. You'll be leaving a tip, coz you want to.
Next, food plating and taste. We expected our casual dishes like the hakao and chicken feet just like other dimsum joints, but it tasted far better in comparison. For plating, WYSIWYG based on the menu. Most of the items looks heavenly 🤤 can't wait to go back for more! (Order the shrimp roll guys!) Lastly, take note of the 30% discount at 9:30pm-12mn!

My husband and my son loves dimsum in this restaurant. We often go here for merienda because the dimsum costs 48 pesos from 2pm to 6pm. Since I'm a pescetarian, I do not eat animal meat. So it is very difficult to eat dimsum because it is usually made up of pork like siomai.
But I can eat dimsum here because there's fish tofu, steamed kutchay dumpling, fish head in black bean sauce and steamed seafood roll. Although the restaurant's ambiance is not classy, the dimsum is yummy and very affordable.

Not a huge fan of Chinese restaurants, I honestly always ignore Causeway until a good friend took me here for dinner. Thought she was just exaggerating how good the dimsums here but man, it was worth the try.

These are sooooo good! One of the the best and seemingly authentic chinese dish I had. The 48 peso promo during 9pm onwards is sooooo worth it. Worth going here on a rainy Monday night.
Service was also fast as some dimsums are already available on a roving pushcart. No regrets giving it a try.

..always loved HAKAW! that's why when we head out for some cheekeedee Chinese food, dumplings are my sought after and HAKAW is the priority order. so, their hakaw (either ends w/ an O or a W) is delish, a little dry probably from the steaming, but still delish. the rice wrapper was a little thick, but i didn't mind because my mouth was already in frenzy waiting for it to be gorged up! their yang chow was not good for 2, it was good for 4, hehe! and their steamed suahe was super fresh, you can peel it so effortlessly, taste its sweetness and the texture was tender and juicy! it comes free w/ hot tea and 5-spice flavored peanuts.
Dimsum? Noodles with soup? This is the place to be! I lived in Banawe for four years and this is where I always go for some dimsum party. Hehe! Or for some breakfast. Yes, they open early in the morning if you want to have some tea. They always have big servings especially for soup. This is also a great dining place for birthday celebrations or just any occasion ☺️

Been awhile since i last ate at causeway. Although their original branch in banawe is closed for renovations, their extension across the street is open. We arrived a little bit past 5pm. I was surprised that their dimsum was on promo price at that time. The promo (P48.00/order) normally starts at 9pm. So imagine my surprise paying for just a little over P500.00 with so many orders of different dim sum, misua, fresh buko juice, and mango sago. Value for money indeed.
I love their siomai, beancurd roll and beefball. Their mango sago was also good.
A quick unplanned breakfast stop of dimsum and congee before heading off to the north with hubby's officemates.
His boss ordered everything so I wasn't able to catch the exact names but the siomai was really good and filling.
I was still full from my Starbucks breakfast run so I wasn't able to eat much although the rest of our companions enjoyed everything.
Service was great and restrooms were being cleaned the time we were there so it smelled really good.
Hoping to go back soon when I have enough space in my tummy so I can truly enjoy everything.

A solid place to get good chinese food. Their dimsum is quite good and affordable. We usually eat here after getting our blood extracted at one of the nearby laboratories (for yearly checkup).
We usually order a bowl of congee (for sharing), meatball dimsum, chicken feet dimsum and the beancurd roll dimsum.
the place could use some renovating but it's not so different from other chinese restaurants in the same price/quality range.
I would give it a 5 but there's always a room for improvement, say why don't you add hakaw to your dimsum promo.hehe. ☺ i always go to this place to satisfy my craving for hakaw + the 480php promo for their dimsum talaga namang sulit. Causeway has been my neighborhood restaurant since the mid 90's. Since that time, they have been known for their simple dimsums and Chinese dishes serving up the Banawe-Del Monte crowd.
I reemeber before, we would go there around 8:30pm just to get a table and wait for the 9pm dimsum promo. When the long arm of the clock hits the 12, we would just pick whatever we want from the trolley from siomai, asado roll, beef ball, and etc..
I would personally order a bowl of sliced pork and century congee to warm up my tummy for the dimsum wars after that. I like the simplicity of sliced lean pork with century egg and raw egg to flavor the porridge. Its a heart warming dish eaten on any occasion.
For their dimsum spread, it has a variety of items that is on sale 9pm everyday. They started the trend, and lately, competitors follow. Gone are the days of long queueing at 9. (due to market division). But I still prefer their chicken asado roll (chicken, asado, taro, and shiitake wrapped in tofu skin), raddish cake (fried, steamed raddish cake), hakaw (shrimps in flour skin), japanese siomai (pork filling wrapped in nori), & their rice rolls* (steamed rice batter filled with either shrimps or asado).
This is just one of the places I regularly dine at in Banawe area.
*Rice rolls are served before 5pm only.
The BEST Chinese restaurant for me! I'd grade this restaurant 5 because of the taste and value for money. I love their Yang Chow fried rice, spareribs, and japanese siomai. The only thing is, you should prepare for a long queue (almost any time of the day) before they could provide a table for you since this olace is always full house. But the service, food, and the price, sulit!

It's another late night food adventure but this time it's all about dimsum! Take note, this branch in Banawe offers their dimsum-in-a-cart @50% off from the menu prices (at certain time only. 9pm-12mn and 2pm-6pm only i think). The cart usually roams around the floor and you get to get as many dimsum as you want (as long as you can pay for it). Get the siomai (never fails) and the chicken feet. The dumplings are also good. And they have unlimited hot tea! Woot!

I LOVE THEIR CHICKEN feet. Actually, I am not a fan of Chicken feet, but after trying this resto----I can't get enough of it. I was just a little bit ashamed of my friend's bf. Lol. The sweet and saucy flavor of it really sticks on your tongue. One of the best chinese restaurant I've tried. They serve your food via cart. And I find it pleasing. You just need a little patience while waiting for your table since a lot eat here.
I love causeway! My family and I had late dinner at Causeway last night to celebrate my brother's birthday, and we arrived at 9pm, just in time for the ₱48 dimsum! I love their pork siomai so much! We also ordered other items like Steamed Suahe, Fried Spareribs, Yang Chao, and a lot more.
one of our family's favorite. Not just because of its VERY affordale dimsum but also because the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Hitting 2 birds with 1 stone right?! hehe. Beancurd roll is the best. Already tried this in different restos but causeway's beancurd is still par much better than the others. For 48 pesos (2-6pm & 9pm-12mn) you'll get to taste a very succelent, addicting, heavenly veggie roll. Must try: seafood roll, eggyolk tart, mango sago dessert.
My go to Chinese restaurant in Banawe. We usually eat here during promo hours because they offer discounted dimsum rates (P48 per dimsum) from 9pm to 12mn so expect a lot of people during those times especially on weekends.
Their dimsum are always affordable after 9pm. Siomai and Spareribs are my absolute favourites! As for dessert, their mango sago can sometimes be a little bit sour but good. The interior is okay and waiters are also friendly. Can delay billing out.
If you love dimsum, this is the right place to go. They have 48 or 49 pesos only per dimsum (chicken feet, fish head, siomai, siopao, japanese siomai, beancurd, etc.) except hakaw/hakao, from 9:00 pm to 12mn.
This is a good restaurant for family gathering. The ambiance is very cozy and their waitresses are very polite.

Causeway Seafood Restaurant is another popular choice when it comes to great-tasting Chinese cuisine. Must-try here are the hot and sour soup, spinach seafood soup, steamed suahe, prawn salad, seafood hot pot, crab with sotanghon and the beef with brocolli. Aside from their branch in Banawe, they have also opened a branch in Benavidez Street in Binondo, Manila.
I frequently eat in Causeway during off peak hours since their dim sum is priced at 48 per order. I love their seafood roll, beef balls and their siomai.
Dumplings are the best comfort food. The place is usually crowded around the dumpling promo time, but it's worth waiting a table for. 👍🏼 Also try their Broccoli leaves in garlic!

I've been here several times, we cannot miss at least one stop at this restaurant every time we go to manila. It is even a reason we travel 12 hours by land just to dine here,.. my children loves it. Their favorite orders are the Beef Tendon noodle soup and their dumplings! The Crab roe shomai, sharks fin dumpling, their signature chicken feet are just the best. We even bring it home to the province and it doesnt spoil along the long travel. Their fish lip soup is simply the best! And the Crews are just but amazing. We will never get loathed of Causeway! It's makes us feel like dining in our home.
I wasn't supposed to write a review but I just really want to mention how accommodating their servers were when we visited. We had their beef hofan, crab meat and corn soup, hakaw and crab roe pork siomai for dimsum, roasted pork asado, fish fillet with sweet corn sauce and buchi. Food was amazing considering the price but giving them a 4.5 since I prefer buchi sweet and theirs were lacking.
So my classmates wanted to hang out, eat and
just chill. Its already late so we decided to eat at Causeway, because its nearby and they have a dimsum promo for P48 like every 9pm - 12pm. By the way, there's Causeway 1 and 2, because before, most of the time the place is crowded. We dine in at Causeway 2. I like the place, its nice and clean.
For the food, my top choices are sharksfin dumpling, chicken feet with tausi, japanese siomai, spareribs with tausi and beef siomai.The food taste really good. Thumbs up! :)
Causeway Banawe will always be one of my family's go to Chinese restaurants as their food really appeals to our palette. Our favorites: hakaw, asado, adidas, salt and pepper spareribs, taosi spareribs, and polonchay soup.
Returned back after a long time, i must say the food still tasted good though the place still look the same, wish they made improvements. The staffs were attentive to our needs
I am not Chinese but I love Chinese food as much as they do. And I dare say that Causeway's dimsums especially their Crab Roe Siomai are the BEST in the whole Metro. Ive been to Hong Kong and tasted their dimsums (and yes, Tim Ho Wan included) and I rest my case by concluding that Causeway has the best siomai I ever tasted.

They have this roving steamer cart with assorted dimsum riding it, it was a plus for me since i dont have to wait several minutes for my order, i immediately tried the seafood dimsum then ordered beef brisket w/ tendon noodles which took close to 10mins, but that was fine because i have my dimsum, all dimsum cost 70 pesos but has a price drop to 48 pesos when you come n at 2-6pm. Noodles are just ok, the amviance is average,and the attendants are quick to receive any requests from you.
I love this restaurant they serve good ol Classic Chinese food. If you are on a tight budget, you can still enjoy their food! They have this Dimsum promo every afternoon and late evening for only 28 pesos for every order!
My friends and I only ordered dimsum and congee for a light snack. The congee was good, with lots of beef, and the dimsum was not bad as well. I heard that they offer a big discount on dimsum after a certain time, so I suggest you plan your visit to give you greater value for money. There weren't a lot of people when we visited, which was at around five in the afternoon on a Monday. The staff were very attentive to our needs and the food were served quickly.

Our go-to restaurant for dimsum! We've been a patron for 10 years and it's still mouthwatering. They have the best dimsum in town. In the Banawe branch, dimsums become 40% off.
Great deal specially after 9, their dimsum is just 48 or 49 after 9. Service is fast.. specially in causeway 2. Staff are great the only hassle is parking tends to be full. We regularly visit the place for a cheap dimsum feast dinner
