What we ordered:
Cafe Adriatico Tenderloin Steak
Hummus with Pita Bread
Crunchy Calamari
Seafood LInguini
What we liked:
The steak is so tender that the meat tends to melt in one's mouth, even perfectly complemented with the sauce, mashed potato, and veggies.
Cafe Adriatico got its name sake from the street where its original branch is located. An institution among the LJC group of restaurants, this Malate haunt is a must when visiting the old Manila streets. For Lifestyle Inquirer it is a no brainer for their Chocolate Decadence be included on the list. Smooth, creamy chocolate deliciousness best served with either more chocolate through their hot chocolate drink or coffee. Recommended.
There's nothing better than a perfectly fried Crispy Pata, chicken and Lechon kawali and good but not great Kare-kare.
Al fresco dining is always a good idea for couples. Servers here are accomodating and well trained.
FOOD
~Mango Crêpe~
+ The chocolate syrup complements the mango purée
- It was too sweet for me
- It didn’t feel like the mango was flambéed
- The mango purée overpowered the dish
~Mocha Frost~
+ Tasted like CBTL’s Hazelnut Chocolate!
- A bit too sweet at the base
~Cappuccino~
+ Nice, bold coffee taste
+ Heat when served was just right
SERVICE
+ They were attentive and polite
+ Fast
+ Helpful
AMBIANCE
+ Has the feel of a high-end restaurant
+ Very relaxing, good after a stressful day
+ Clean, and the arrangement and interior was good to look at
+ Has a high ceiling with a nice looking chandelier
- Thought it was more like a cafe than a restaurant, I wanted the atmospheres of cafes better when drinking my coffee (but still, pretty great ambiance)
OTHERS
+ Eco-Friendly
+ They only gives straws when requested
+ Uses paper straws!
+ Wide variety of drinks (from juices to coffees to alcohol based drinks!)
Everything is great; food, service and ambience. Must try and our favorites - Sinigang sa bayabas, arroz caldo, lengua estufada and kaldereta

I had the privileged to try the new menu of Cafe Adriatico.
Chicken karaage. Morsels of Japanese-style fried chicken with honey mustard and teriyaki sauce; served with rice and cabbage salad. This is my favorite, the chicken is tender and the very tasty even with our the dip.
Espresso Panna Cotta. Chilled coffee dessert with espresso syrup, whipped cream and coffee jelly. The coffee taste really strong.
The LJC Festival of Flavors is a tribute to LJC’s passion for good food. The festival features the new creations of LJC Chefs, keeping in mind how Larry would have appreciated these dishes according to the LJC brands they were created for. Chicken karaage. Morsels of Japanese-style fried chicken with honey mustard and teriyaki sauce; served with rice and cabbage salad.
Our movie wasn’t going to start soon and we decided to grab some coffee while we waited. We chose this restaurant because the next door cafés were either too crowded, too noisy, or had too few cakes to offer. And this place isn’t one of those places early evening on a Sunday.
The place was quiet when we walked in even though there were some tables occupied. I guess, people were are more polite. Our table was clean & not a dirt in sight.
We ordered their sans rival cake which tasted as expected: sweet, buttery, & nutty. What I adored was their hot chocolate! They prepared it tablea-style complete with choices between the very bitter or the milk-chocolate kind. I’ll definitely come back for it!
I’m craving for one just now.
This September, LJC Group celebrates Larry J. Cruz' birthday and they features LJC Festival of Flavors in which they will bring in 2 new dishes on all their 9 restaurants.
Chicken Karaage – morsels of Japanese-Style fried chicken with honey mustard and teriyaki sauce; served with rice and cabbage salad. For people on the go, this would be a no-frills kind of dish. You can’t go wrong with Chicken Karaage and they did it perfectly.
Espresso Panna Cotta – chilled coffee dessert with espresso syrup, whipped cream and coffee jelly. This was so delectable. It was soft and succulent and every bit was just heavenly.
The Good to Dine Campaign is a fundraising project for the benefit of the Cancer Institute of the Philippine General Hospital, through the Andres Soriano Foundation Inc. This campaign aims to help and they will donate Php10 of the price of every featured dish or drinks ordered within the campaign period.
Great ambiance. Cool interiors. Small and cosy space. They have enough options to keep you interested in their menu and they added a couple of twists that would make you wanna come back. Price and serving sizes are good. Server manners and the place's cleanliness are both ok.
Food is great! Love the Kare-Kare and Lechon Kawali. Steak is good too. And of course the desserts. Their iced white chocolate mocha is too sweet for me but the other drinks are just fine.
Cafe Adriatico is one of the oldest restaurants in Manila. And they've been considered as a historical landmark in Adriatico Street in Malate, Manila.
Cafe Adriatico is focused on re-creating Filipino dishes with a fusion of foreign cuisines. However, when I ate in Cafe Adriatico, I wanted to just enjoy Tocino and a slice of cake.
Ambiance - 5.0/5.0
The place is well-lit and clean. Also the tables and chairs resemble tradition and the strength or resiliency of Filipinos. Also, they were able to at least maintain the ambiance of Cafe Adriatico in Malate.
Service - 5.0/5.0
I have to give this rating to them especially because of Mr. Limson. I witnessed how he was so extra patient in taking the orders of a family that has a companion who we can consider as a person with a special need. Also, he really made sure that the person will be comfortable during their entire stay.
Food - 4.5/5.0
I will give 4.5 rating for now because I would definitely come back to try more of what Cafe Adriatico can offer. Anyway, for 250 pesos I can have a very large and sumptuous serving of Tocino. And for 250 pesos as well, my craving for Toffee can be satisfied with their really big slice of Toffee Sansrival.
Total - 4.83/5.0
Round off - 5.0/5.0
I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK.
We came in for snacks but ended up ordering Halo Halo for hubby and Salpicao Rice for me.
Halo halo was good, taste and serving size was just right for a snack.
Salpicao however was a bit of a fail for us since it was too salty, it had too much soy sauce in it and we were not able to eat more than a few bites. We had to tell the waiter our concern and was pleasantly surprised that they no longer charge us with the item.
Since Salpicao was my order, I opted to go back to the original plan of just having snacks and ordered Claud’s Dream II. This concoction is made up of coconut ice cream with macapuno, pandan jelly, mango balls and watermelon balls. So yummy! The Claud’s Dream (without the II), has pinipig instead with the pandan jelly. Price difference is only P10 (II more than the orig Claud’s Dream).
Despite the Salpicao incident, we were happy with our visit since the waiter showed great customer service by handling our concerns immediately and was apologetic. And their desserts were so good that I had to still give them a good rating.
The best price food, the best presented food the best tasting food in the philippines i have come across, your never leave unhappy.Thank all your staff for making me happy at lunchtime &at dinner.
There carbonara is really good. You can really taste the cheese and the bacon. It’s creamy, but not runny. I also like the garlic bread, toasty not soggy with enough butter and garlicky flavor. Yum. And lastly, food wise, I also like the Spanish callos. Really delicious! No issue with portion, and I think the price of the dishes are just right, sulit.
The only negative thing I can say about this restaurant is that it’s warm here. I think the A/C wasn’t working properly, and they had a few fans on.
I would go back here again and try their other dishes.

Went for merienda. We ordered the ff:
1. Classic burger - They didnt heat the bun. Patty was thick, fresh, perfectly cooked. But the bun ruined the overall presentation of the dish. Ordered mine with fries (they forgot to put salt on my fries), coleslaw (which was only a spoonful), and ementhal cheese. Not going to order this again. Not worth it.
2. Arroz caldo with tokwat baboy - we ordered two of these. One came with calamansi, the other did not. Someone forgot to put calamansi on it. But i must say that this dish is perfect. Five stars. Worth it.
3. Pan de sal with Kesong puti and tsokolate éh - Served with two pieces of small pan de sal. Tasted alright. Typical kesong puti. Servers forgot that it comes with tsokolate éh. If we didnt remind them, they would have totally forgotten to serve it.
4. Gambas al a jillo - Nice. Garlicky. Good. However, the waiters almost forgot to serve the bread and butter that comes with it. They served it late when the dish was almost completely finished
5. Suman sa lihiya with salabat - Highly recommended. Suman was perfect, soft, warm. Amazing! Would order this again.
6. Norwegian salmon - good enough. Portion is good for one. Served with mashed potato and veggies
7. Fresh calamansi juice - not powdered juice, so would recommend
Additional comments: Poor ventilation. Needs repainting/refurbishing. Needs improvement on service.
If you cannot think of any other resto or cafe but needs or wants to dine or chill anyway, Cafe Adriatico should be a top choice. Here, almost everything on the menu is familiar. Their breakfast choices (whichis available at anytime of the day) are all good & on generous servings. The other choices such as the chicken ala kiev & pollo ala pobre are good choices.
Their desserts EXCEPT for cakes are generally satisfying. Please don't forget to try their chocolate AH. You would feel rich when you taste it.
A deal breaker here is they do not have their own RESTROOM !!! I am talking about the Gateway branch.
Last call is 2345 and we arrived 2330 right after the concert from KIA which is a short walk away. There are available tables and dined indoors. As usual ordered salpicao rice, our fave. Soft tenderloin beef and rightly marinated. I love it. We also ordered goto cause it's so cold..felt it's a complementing meal, comes with tokwat baboy. Calamari is thin. I should have ordered squid tactic instead. Anyway.. ended the night with chocolate eh.
Service staff are nice and attentive.
Cafe Adriatico serves a full Menu of Spanish-Mediterranean dishes and a variety of delicious light snacks.
As a tribute to Larry J. Cruz, The annual LJC Good to Dine Campaign, which will happen on LJC’s birthday, September 17 and ends on December 31. P10.00 of every featured dish or drink ordered within the campaign period will be donated to the PGH fund.
Another celebration is the LJC Festival of Flavors where they will feature new signature dishes from LJC’s Chefs. Two new dishes includes:
Chicken Karaage
Morsels of Japanese style fried chicken with honey mustard and teriyaki sauce; served with rice and cabbage salad. Can’t say enough how delicious this dish was. I actually consumed the stripped cabbage, even the dipping is good, too.
Espresso Panna Cotta
Chilled coffee dessert with espresso syrup, whipped cream and coffee jelly. It is divinely tasty. I love every dipping of my spoon into this rich and creamy Panna Cota. You must try this!
I like Lola ising here. Been here many times with but the last time, am the missing the tendons (just love it). Tried gising gising also.
I've been hearing alot from Cafe Adriatico so we gave it a try. The place is lovely and relaxing! I love that it makes you feel that you're home. We ordered Caldereta only since we're only two. It was flavorful and the meat is very firm and was cooked very well! It's also plentiful! (We took home some because it's too many haha) We ordered chocolate decadence cake and my all-time favorite, blueberry cheesecake. These cakes are so precious and too beautiful to eat! The staff are accomodating especially the seasoned manager. I can't wait to get back here and also try more of what they can offer.
Spanish-Mediterranean Dishes
Taste: It's freaking 9am so I ordered their "Farmer's breakfast" (sweet pork with salted egg) very presentable and the taste was amazing
Ambiance: Totally relaxing, with open windows and very accomodating crew 👌🏼
Whenever we have a concert to watch, we either eat or at least consider this place. Their Filipino food has great flavor and serving size. Last night we had shrimp sinigang and customized bangus bistek. Quality in every bite. They also served really unique and good tiramisu cheesecake.
Before my clients left for Malaysia, we brought them here for dinner. We ordered classic Filipino dishes. They were impressed on how delicious the food was. Their favorite was the Crispy Pata. The place does not get that crowded. They have enough dining space for their customers. You still get that privacy given that it is just between a busy street and the heavy traffic of passers by on the other side. Staff are very nice and courteous. I will recommend the place for foreign guests. They just do not serve Filipino dishes, but they also have international dishes on the
Large portions and tasty food. I've tried their breakfast selections and those reminded me of the large and hearty family breakfasts served back home in the province. They have classic Pinoy dishes with some bits catered to expats in the area. This branch has only two waiters(?) in the morning so it was a bit hard to order or ask for anything like additional table napkins and forks or a glass of water but everything else was perfect. The place was packed with their regulars and all of them were from the elderly bracket.
The senior citizens really know their stuff I suppose. I always pass by this cafe and never seriously thought of trying out their food until today and I think it's one of the best decisions I've made and it's a good start for a Monday. Quite normal on the outside but when you get inside the cafe it's like you're transported in some old period with classy music and nice old wooden furniture (with lots of old folks too!)

Had a great time here! The ambiance was a Filipino classic. The location which was at Gateway mall was very accessible to all. The service... well, I love the fact that they served the garlic bread separately in a basket, just like how a real classic restaurant should serve it. The salad indeed had premiere taste despite the usual combination. Double thumbs up for the creaminess of the spaghetti ala carbonara. The penne al'arrabiata wasn't spicy as we thought it would but it tasted good. The dessert was genius after finding out they made coffee beans out of chocolate to stick to it's name cappuccino cheesecake. It was however, enough for just one slice as the coffee flavor was a bit too strong.
Haven't had their callos for a while so I ordered it... Very comforting that it is still the same delicious dish... The adobo flakes were also tasty..
Been here for quite sometime already. You should try their Lola Ising's Adobo Rice Meal which is so good or their Chicken A La Kiev. Their branch here in Gateway offers Filipino favorites like lechon kawali, kare-kare, pinakbet and fried chicken. I've tried all of them already and it's good. Must try.
Of the many times I've been to Cafe Adriatico, almost all of them had only been for coffee and cake. I like the strong taste of their coffee and I am just in love with their blueberry cheesecake! Yummm! No matter how many times I eat it, it still tastes soooo gooood. :) They have plenty of seats and the servers are very friendly. Nice place indeed! Adecel M. Jandusay
One of the restaurant of LJC Group, Cafe Adriatico never fails to be tasty. I'm glad that LJC group famous Binukadkad na Tilapia is in the menu, one of my favorite. The Kampampangan-Spanish set-up and the accommodating staff of Cafe Adriatico will make you feel comfortable. Must try: Caramel Sans Rival for Desserts.
Love their French Pepper Steak, good service, nice outdoor area.
Me my sister and my mom went here before we attended a concert in Araneta. It was a perfect spot just to chill and just talk. Cafe Adriatico served Filipino dishes. But the event was after we hung out there, so me and the gang went for a simple dish just to waste time. We ordered the hot cocoa drink and im pretty sure it was named after Jose Rizal or if it wasn't maybe it was what i thought because the feel of that drink was really a "Jose Rizal Days" kind of feel. It is a great place to hang out, chill and talk :)
cozy place excellent for breakfast when its not crowded
