Although at a higher price range, this place is still a must-try!! It’s a great drinking place so make sure to order the sangria. For food, the paella is really good and for dessert, churros is the way to go!

Food & service were both pretty great! Their sangrias never disappoint — the white & red are both so good. The chicken y chorizo is really yummy & value for money wise also good (compared to the other paellas at least). However, the paella negra (squid ink paella) was lacking in flavour.

The paella Negra and gambas are my favorites
How does the fried garlic stay crispy crunchy in the gambas. Good for late night. After 10PM it's one of the only places to go in ortigas.

Great service, Great ambience. Paella negra was yummy as always. Fave dishes: lengua, chopitos. I’d skip the desserts since it was just ok and it was pretty pricey. We ordered churros and and the canutillos. Overall zomato gold wins.

Great selection of wines and Spanish dishes! Price is reasonable, I think this is one of the "best value for money" restaurants in the metro. Must try are the following: gambas, paella marisco, paella negra and callos madrileña.

It was a good place to dine, wine and catch up with friends.
The food is nice. Maybe they can have more cocktail choices but the wine choices were good enough.

Thanks to Eatigo we were able to eat here for 50% off! What we had:

1. Gambas - this is not the usual spicy laden with hot sauce and ketchup small shrimps. These are huge prawns with loads of fried garlic in oil.

2. Squid Ink Paella - No need to explain this. What I would though is ask them to cook until rice tutong form.

Must try!

We dined here a year ago now (easter sunday 2018) and we haven't had the chance to go back until now. It was one of the warmest restaurant we ever visited, all my kids seemed to have enjoyed all the food we ordered, their food serving just the right portion for sharing...the place is cozy and private, and the staff, one of the best..

If ever we'll have the chance to go back in Ayala Malls the 30th, we'll likely choose to eat here again...

Went and used a couple of zomato gold accounts here and barcino has to be one of the most sulit places to use your account. And they're not overly picky about it too, they'll deduct the correct things from your bill. We had their paella mixto and the paella negra, both of which were great. The one knock on the paella negra is there isn't much meat in it. We also had their octopus and lengua, the octopus was great, has a great char on it. Their salpicao was pretty good, it's quite generously sized pieces of tenderloin, but it is very pricey at 1,500 an order.

First time to try this resto, mainly because it's on zomato gold & a friend recommended it. My feedback, sarap! It definitely fulfills your spanish food craving.... croquettas appetizer just ok, while paella negra, lengua & gambas were all yummy! Specially the gambas w/ lots of garlic. Service was good too.

Great experience at Barcino Ayala Malls the 30th. Had the Paella Negra which was more than enough for 2 together with Lengua Estofado. Also got to try 2 kinds of Sangria (Tropical and their bestseller classic) for 320 a glass. The tropical one had a pleasant and extra sweet fruity twist.

Barcino is quite an expensive place to eat at, but it's hard to find a place that serves good Spanish dishes, and this branch has a nice ambiance, so that makes up for the price premium. It's a good place to eat at once in a while, for dates and stuff.
Staff was not aware thoigh about how Zomato Gold really works and said we couldn't use both our unlocks, but a little Zomato chat helped and was eventually sorted out in the backend with their marketing. They apologized we got our 1+1's.

(Note: If you want addt’l 20% off Zomato Gold membership fee, just input my code RIALIT 😉)

The restaurant is spacious and not cramped (there’s even a mini function room) unlike their very small and crowded Power Plant Mall branch.

The servers are friendly but at the time we went they were only a few like 2 or max 3 so it was a bit hard to get their attention since there was a big group in the function room.

We used my Zomato Gold app and the server was very familiar with it and we didn’t encounter any problem. Such a good deal because we usually dine in often even at regular price and this time we only paid for one dish! We paid for the Gambas al ajillo at around ₱800 and got the Paella Chorizo & Pollo for free (valued at ₱700 i.e. lower priced item between the 2).

They also serve 1 round of complimentary Pan Con Tomate (you can order extra for a fee). I like eating my toasted bread with tomato topped with the toasted garlic and oil from the Gambas. Soooo goood!!!

Another tip is the Pan Con Tomate comes with a bottle of olive oil so what we do is drizzle that over the Gambas al ajillo when it “dries out” from us scooping all the oil and garlic & putting it on anything and everything - this time it was over the paella and bread.

Food - 5; you can’t go wrong with their Paella
Ambience - 3; noisy music but when I asked that it be turned down, they were happy to do so. We were the only customers so I thought it was ok to ask.
Service - 4; Noel was friendly, attentive, gave recommendations, and very helpful.

Very happy about Barcino and I will recommend this branch to my friends.

I asked to be seated in a square table, there were no other customer and it was 1.5 hours from peak service time but that request wasn’t accommodated. Not a big issue at all. It just felt odd being denied the square table when there were so many of them around us, with nobody seated. So I guess next time I’ll call ahead and ask for a square table.

Going back? Maybe 8 times in a year, twice per quarter if I could.

After the movie, "Aquaman" we got hungry again and welcomed dinner no. 2. We felt like going Spanish and proceeded to Barcino because it closes late.

With the power of zomato gold, we got the Lengua Estofado con Patatas (P650) and got the Paella Negra (P600) for free. We rounded these out with orders of Jamon Serrano, Pintxos and Chorizo Picante.

The Lengua was traditional Spanish fare and was such a treat. They came cubed so queasiness is removed versus eating something that is really shaped like an ox's tongue. I appreciate that the taste is clean because sometimes when restaurants fail to properly prepare this dish, you could still taste the last meal of the cow/ox and it is not a good experience, I tell you. The Paella Negra is good-sized and the squid ink flavored bomba rice is the star. It may look simple with just five pieces of squid rings and a lemon on top, but the flavor of the rice makes you sing with praise. Plus the socarrat or the crusty, crispy bottom "tutong" which becomes caramelized and flavor laden is to die for.

The pintxos completed our sampling of Spanish cuisine. I, particularly liked their chorizos because they were hearty and came with the right amount of spice. In terms of tapas and pintxos, in general, I would still go to Bar Pintxos Tapas y Mas for my finger foods.

By the time 12 midnight came, we were politely told that they were closing for the night. Overall good vibes and good food, nonetheless.

Barcino helps friends who would to extend their fun time together until all the restaurants in malls have decided to call it a might. Plus they serve good Sangria. Enough reasons to come here.

Our group, after dining at this horrible place in Ayala the 30th, voted on having a nightcap so we can continue with our rumor mongering, update on each others' lives and yes, put a closure on the food we just ingested.

Sangria is never good alone. I mean, you have to have something to drink it with. With a pitcher of Barcino Sangria (special discounted price of P609 from P920) and Croquettas de Chorizo and Jamon Serrano.

Service, as expected, was more than passable. The servers were adept with the menu and attentive to the guests' wants.

This is our family’s favorite Spanish restaurant to go to for any occasion. Their paella is amazing and cooked to perfection. The Gambas dish, while originally an appetizer is so rich and flavorful, we usually have it for the middle. The Beef Callos and Stew dishes are have tender meat.

Good wine selection but a bit expensive. Their menu well compliments many of the wines in their wine list. Went there on a weekday with a couple friends, the place was quiet and not packed. Ambiance was good and we were able to have good conversations without having to speak at higher than usual volumes. The staff was very attentive.

Among the restaurants in The 30th, Barcino tends to get the late night crowd who needs some wine or sangria to cap the evening.

The menu tends to be on the more expensive side but you could pick some note worthy reasonably priced dishes off the menu.

Gambas al Ajillo (Php790) - we got 5 large pieces of shrimps with lots and lots of toasted garlic. Those are expensive shrimps!

I would recommend the Paella Negra for Php600. Great squid ink flavor with  some squid rings and aioli. Also the Albondigas, meatballs in a savory tomato sauce.

Not my favorite was the Paella con Almejas (Php420), rice with clams because it was plain and lacks much flavor.

Check out their wines and try to get a wine that goes well with your food. Usually good are the Spanish wines especially the Rioja or Tempranillo.

PLACE:
Design, decorations and displays are on point. The wine wall is attracting. Place is clean and organized.

FOOD:
• Croquettas Settas - i’ve always loved croquettes and this one did not disappoint.
• Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos de Carne - basically a baked stuffed bell pepper. Sooo cheesy and delicious!
• Pollo Al Ajillo - sort of a chicken adobo feel. Good though. :)
• Albondigas de la Abuela - meatballs in tomato sauce. A bit salty but tastes good. I suggest to adjust the salt content a bit!
• Paella de Marisco - oh how I miss paella. Really really good!

STAFF AND SERVICE
Since we were the first customers on a Sunday brunch time, we were properly attended to. They’re quick to respond to any requests and very attentive. Food is served promptly.

The family was looking at a different place to eat lunch and we decided to go to Ayala Malls 30th at Meralco ave. This is a newer mall with new places to eat. We found Barcino, I believe it’s in the 3rd floor.

Food: 👍👍👍👍

Croquetas Setas - home made croquettes with creamy mushrooms. The croquettes were cooked right and as the cream tasted okay.

Paella de Marisco - Paella rice mixed with seasonal seafood. Been a while since I last ate Paella, not really a fan but this was really good. A must try

Pollo Al Ajillo - chicken sautéed with garlic in white wine sauce. Okay recommend to try something else.

Albondigas de la Abuela - beef and pork meatballs in tomato sauce. So salty, but Good. Could be a phenomenal dish overly salty

Pimientos Del Piquillo Rellenos De Carne -piquillo red bell peppers stuffed with ground pork topped with creamy paprika bechamel sauce and grated cheese. This dish was awesome! Highly recommend.

Ambiance: 👍👍👍👍

From furniture to walls this came to me a a cozy place, very family oriented as the tables are themed and sized 6 seats. The decorations was fair.

Service: 👍👍👍

They were quick and attentive. Good service on the wait staff. Kitchen not so much as it took a while for the food to come and it some dishes were served salty.

The entire mall is deserted, but Barcino is always full. I think that says much about this place—great Spanish food with huge selection of wines from all over the world. Must-try: gambas al ajillo, callos, paella negra, chorizo picante and freshly-carved jamon iberico. And of course, plenty of wiiiineeeee!!! Thumbs up!

I have spent my best night outs with friends in Barcino. I keep on coming back here because of the food and drinks, the ambiance, and the service that Barcino has and offers.

Authenticity and quality comes with a price. It may be a bit pricey, but the quality of their ingredients and their preparation are of high standards. Barcino definitely will transport you to Barcelona through their food and flare.

Here are some of their remarkable dishes:

Coca de Sardinas
Mejillones Pipirrana
Paella de Rabo de Toro
Pimienteos del Piquillo Rellens de Carne
Mejillones Tigre Rellenos
Croquettas Pollo Y Jamon
Salpicon de Pulpo Y Gambas
Paella Negra
Callos a la Madrilena

If you are up for a drink, Barcino is the place to be! This is the perfect hangout for after dinner parties and nightlife as there is a wide variety of Spanish wines and drinks that you and your friends would enjoy. This new branch is situated at the Ayala the 30th across the busy streets of Meralco Avenue and they are open until 2AM.

Nonetheless, our afternoon visit to Barcino highlights their creative Spanish cuisine inspiration from Barcelona. It is no different to our very rich culinary influences since the Spanish era, whom around 400 years, brought about most of our traditions and cultures. Too much for the history class, here are what we had during our stay:

For the Tapas or their Spanish savory snacks.

1. Coca de Sardinas for 275Php - it is a baked unleavened bread dough topped with Spanish Sardines, roasted vegetables and drizzled with olive oil and sriracha. This is quite popular in Catalonia during fiestas. The flat bread is made crisp and the tangy flavor on top has just the right amount of flavor.

2. Mejillones Tigre Rellenos for 295Php - these are fried golden brown mussels stuffed with creamy battered bechamel. This is a famous tapas from the Northern region. The infusion of herbs and creamy white sauce gives a nice blend with the mussels. Very nice presentation by the way,

3. Croquetas Jamon y Pollo for 300Php - these are homemade croquettes with chorizo. It is crispy fried and has a delicious Spanish sausage relish on the inside. This is paired with a rich white bechamel sauce as well. A crowd favorite I may say.

4. Chorizo and Cheese Platter for 1690Php - it is a combination of chorizo and imported cheeses. The sausages and cheese when combined are flavorful so it must be paired with wine to make a good balance.

For the Ensaladas, we tried their best sellers. The Mejillones Pipirrana for 225Php is a cold bowl of salad with a nutritious medley of mussels, tomatoes, red and green bell peppers seasoned with olive oil and red wine vinegar. This is really good. And another on we had is the Salpicon de Pulpo y Gambas for 550Php. A salad medley of onion, parsley, red and green bell peppers with chopped octopus and tiger prawns seasoned with red wine vinaigrette dressing. They are light and refreshing to the palate.

We also tried the Arroces or Rice dishes. Their new addition is the Paella de Rabo de Toro for 795Php. It is a Paella with ox tail beef stew cooked in red wine and topped with grilled asparagus and beef slices. This dish is scrumptious. The rice is perfectly cooked and the meat were tender and are really tasty. Another rice dish is the Paella Negra for 580Php. It is a Paella rice cooked with squid ink, topped with squid rings and alioli. You'd love the garlicky flavor mixed with it and the squid were soft and easy to chew. The Paellas itself alone is one full meal

Some of the Tradicionales (traditional dishes) we tried were the Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos de Carne for 325Php and the Callos a la Madrilena for 570Php. You'd enjoy the mix of Piquillo red bell peppers stuffed with ground pork topped with creamy paprika bechamel sauce and grated cheese of the Pimientos and also the Stewed Madrid-style with chorizo, ox tripe and chickpeas of the Callos. Right enough, these are perfect viand for the Paellas. You can also ask the servers which wine goes well with the savory dishes. I almost forgot that they also had us tried their famous Sangria. Surely, it is one of the best I've had so far so I would really recommend you try it as well.

A nice course would not be complete without the Postres (dessert) so we had the Crema Catalana for 210Php. It is Catalan's cream custard, topped with burnt brown sugar. This is the Spanish take on the creme brulee. I love the nice zesty and cinnamon flavor in it. Superb!

Overall, I enjoyed the food, the service is great and the ambiance is really nice. They have a lot dining space and VIP rooms available for meetings and gatherings. Kudos!

If you want to feel the Spanish ambiance and taste legitimate Spanish cuisine, Barcino is the place to go. Their chef is a Spanish who has helped grow the menu with dishes cooked the way they do it in Spain.

.

The branch we visited is conveniently located near the Ortigas business district on the second floor of Ayala Malls the 30th. Their servings are generous and they're great for groups.

.
My top pick is their cold cuts served with different types of cheese. It is a perfect partner for their Sangria. Apart from that, I also liked their dessert which is like leche flan glazed with caramel.

Barcino, a restaurant that aims to showcase the diversity of Spanish cuisine, provides a wide range of authentic Spanish dishes and also a great selection of wine and craft beers. This branch in Ugong, Pasig is strategically placed in a corner of a mall which gives you a feeling that you are entering into another world. Furthermore, the general aesthetic of the restaurant made me feel like I was in a local restaurant in Spain. Finally, the ambiance and the rustic interiors of the restaurant made me forget that I was inside a very busy and hectic city. Listed below are some of the dishes that I was able to try:

TAPAS/ APPETIZERS

Coca de Sardinas, ₱ 275 (4/5) - This unleavened bread dough is a very good appetizer. It is very light and packed with flavor. It also has a little hint of spiciness because it is drizzled with sriracha sauce.

Croquetas Jamon y Pollo, ₱ 300 (4/5) - The chorizo perfectly balances out with the mashed potato and the dish itself was cooked perfectly. The dipping sauce that came with it made it a much more complex dish.

Chorizo and Cheese Platter, ₱ 1,690 (4.5/5) - The platter includes various types of chorizos and cheeses. The chorizos each had a distinct taste and each type was packed with flavor. The cheeses on the other hand, also had various types of flavors and textures. You should order this platter if you want something light to go with your wines.

ENSALADAS

Mejillones Pipirrana, ₱ 225 (4/5) - A cold and refreshing salad which used fresh ingredients. The dish had many components and it all worked together in forming one cohesive dish.

RICE

Paella de Rabo de Toro, ₱ 795 (5/5) - This new addition to the menu is a fully loaded paella dish. It includes tail beef stew cooked in red wine, topped with grilled asparagus and beef slices. Each component used in the dish is of high quality so I definitely recommend this.

Paella Negra, ₱ 580 (5/5) - Don't leave Barcino without ordering this. Dish is fully packed with flavor if the squid ink, the squid itself is cooked perfectly, and the lemon gives the cuts very well through the richness of the dish

TRADITIONAL DISHES

Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos de Carne, ₱ 325 (4/5) - The bell pepper was soft yet still remained a little crunch and its pork stuffing was seasoned to perfection. Additionally, bechamel sauce was creamy and flavorful and the cheese was the element that completed the dish

Callos a la Madrileña, ₱ 570 (4.5/5) - The chorizo in this dish is the key ingredient which made it taste very authentic and flavorsome. This dish had good quality ingredients and the ox tripe was cooked perfectly.

DESSERT

Crema Catalana, ₱ 210 (5/5) - This creamy custard dish that is topped with burnt brown sugar is very flavorful and rich. It even had a real cinnamon chunk in the middle of the bowl which made it taste even better.

DRINKS

Sangria, ₱ 295/Glass, ₱ 890/Pitcher (5/5) - Can't go here without ordering their famous sangria. The drink had good quality wine and the fruits used were fresh and sweet!

Barcino has always been my go-to place for Spanish cuisine whenever I felt a craving for it. The food here always had the right amount of authenticity and class without going too fancy-schmancy like many other tapas bars that have started to pop up around the Metro. After all, tapas in Spain is very casual, affordable, and in many places still free with your round of drinks!

I was able to try the Cheese and Cold Cuts Platter at Barcino Ayala Malls The 30th when we did a crawl in the said mall.

The branch we visited is conveniently located near the Ortigas business district on the second floor of Ayala Malls the 30th. Their servings are generous and they're great for groups.

Our top picks for the Tapas or the starters are the Mejillones Tigre Rellenos which are five big pieces of fried golden brown mussels with rich and creamy meat fillings (P295) and the Croquetas Jamon y Pollo which is croquettes with chorizo and lots of cheese (P300 for four half-fist rolls). Their cold cuts served with different kinds of cheese is also a must try.

For the Arroces or rice dishes, our top picks are the Paella Negra which paella rice richly cooked with squid ink (P580 for a big pan, serves 4-5) and the Paella de Rabo de Toro which is rich in ox tail beef stew and beef slices (P795 for a big pan, serves 4-5).

The Crema Catalana must not be missed, too! It is a perfect dessert for ones with the sweet tooth. The egg yolk mixture with crystallized burnt sugar satisfies any sweet cravings (P210 for a bowl which serves 1-2).

Wine up!

Product: Barcino, which also means Barcelona, is a wonderland for wine lovers. Should I call it a WINEderland? They want you to experience what it feels like being or eating in Spain. Every food you will chow down, they have the perfect wine to pair it with, just ask the staff!

Seafood lovers, let's unite our love for Mejillones Tigre Rellenos (Php 295.00): This stuffed mussel lacks nothing at all. Crunchy on the outside and rich of creaminess on the inside. One piece wouldn't be enough. Luckily, they also have the Croquettas Pollo Y Jamon (Php 305.00): which is another addicting deep fried starter. Both too scrumptious for my happy tummy.

I couldn't get enough of their Paella de Rabo de Toro (Php 795.00): It is their version of Paella with Ox Tail Beef Stew. The beef was so tender that it separates easily upon the spoon's first touch. This easily became a crowd favorite.

They also have their Paella Negra (Php 580): which is one of the their best sellers and one of the dishes they're really proud of. There's something about squid ink dishes that makes them so lovable and it's probably why so many people adore them.

Also another favorite was the Pimienteos del Piquillo Rellens de Carne (Php 325.00): I was never a fan of pimento because of the bell pepper's after taste which is why I was hesitant at first to try this but my goodness, upon that first bite I just wanted so much more that I couldn't contain myself.

And that perfect crack on the Crema Catalana (Php 210): as you gently hit it with your spoon looked so attractive. It defines the dessert and it gives off a great first impression and even though there's no need for that because the dish didn't lack in regards to taste at all. It was a creme brulee with a real cinnamon stick in the middle so the taste of cinnamon spreads within the dish.

For their wines, I got to taste their white and sangria. I'm no expert on wines so I'm not gonna elaborate my review for it. I've had a few wines in my life but this truly was one of the best. The Sangria was fruity as expected and the wine was light and yet it also hits you hard at the same time.

Venue: Barcino gives off a Spanish wine cellar feel with their interior. And like I said before, if you can't go to Spain, go to Barcino. They will welcome you with open arms and satisfy your needs for Spanish food. I actually didn't get to interact with the staff expect when they ask if I wanted more wine or water but that's already a thumbs up for pro-activeness.  It is a intimate place for people who want to go on a date or have a quiet family time. So, if you have time pay them a visit. You'll be happy you did.

RCGI is the company under the helm of Mr. Martin Lorenzo former owner of Pancake house acquired sometime ago by Max's group of companies.

Last  Thursday together with other foodies we  were served   their famous cheese and charcuterie platter   as starter and different variants of tapas and mains  together with glasses of wine, pitchers of red sangria and mugs of draft beers.

People maybe intimidated with the name Barcino ,some say it may be expensive or too classy for their budget. But it is not they have dishes the are very reasonably priced and expect an authentic high quality Spanish ingredients. And as we all know this is a wine and dine restaurant even for the non or even sparingly wine drinker like me,still Barcino has a lot to offer from great selection of dishes, delis and cold cuts,European cheeses.

We were invited here to sample some of their classic favorites and future blockbusters. They served us from tapas, ensaladas, rice ,traditional dishes ,dessert and even sangria.

The list of my favorites;
TAPAS:
*COCA DE SARDINAS - nicely done unleavened bread toasted to crispiness.Nice spicy sauce and olive oil topped with bell peppers and sardines.

*Chorizo and cheese platter- great variety of chorizos and Spanish style sausages with a medley of European cheeses.Love the distinct flavor of the Bilbao.

ENSALADAS
*SALPICON DE PULPO Y GAMBAS.- a mixed of chopped onions, parsley, red and green bell peppers with chopped tiger prawns and octopus in red wine vinaigrette .Love the flavors and the freshness of the seafoods.

TRADITIONAL
*PIMIENTOS DEL PIQUILLO RELLENOS DE CARNE- also known as Stuffed bell peppers with ground pork in bechamel sauce and grated cheese, nice rich ,creamy dish the flavor of the Piquillo bell pepper was well defined.

*Callos a LA Madrilena- stewed ox cheeks ,tripe with chorizo, chickpeas cooked Madrid style.I love the incorporation of the ox cheeks made the sauce thicker and more succulent.Tripe's texture was tender and chorizo flavor was very flavorful.

RICE
*PAELLA DE RABO DE TORO - paella with ox tail beef stew cooked in red wine with grilled asparagus and slices of beef.Loads of flavors unleashed by the ox tail ,a new spin for a paella .Future sure hit from Barcino.

DESSERT
*CREMA CATALANA - creamy custard a Catalan counterpoint to creme brulé.

They also have fine selection of red and white wines,Spanish beer ,Sangrias.great service and cool place to chill. Its like you're in Barcelona without having to go thru an immigration line.

You live in Ortigas and looking for a nightcap together with friends or family beside a mall? Barcino could be a great spot for you to hang out. Aside from serving excellent tapas, this Spanish restaurant also offers a wide selection of wine to their dining customers.

Barcino started out as a quaint deli bar in Ortigas back in 2004. It was coined "Barcino Gourmet" after the Latin name of the Catalan capital, Barcelona. What started out as a small bar selling Spanish deli, sundried cheeses, and some fine wines, has eventually grown in multiple locations in the Metro.

I was invited to visit Barcino on its opening at the 30th Mall in Ugong, Pasig months back. Back then after the ceremonial ribbon cutting, we were given authentic taste of Spain through their best menu offerings. We were also treated to a live performance of flamenco dancing.

For starters, we got to try their Jamon Bodega or Iberico ham, and a couple of cheese varieties, with complimentary toasted bread in olive oil. It was the Jamon that certainly got my attention. This dry-cured ham was from the Iberian native pig of Spain. It is considered the finest ham in the world, seasoned in fine salt and cured for three years! It had a sweet, nutty, and not as salty. The meat was alsl well marbled, having a deep shade of red and a complex meaty flavor to it.

Then, there's their cold soups - the Salmorejo and Ajo Blanco Malagueno. The Salmorejo (Php305) is a hearty serving of Spanish soup served cold, with tomatoes, and garlic, garnished with Serrano ham and grated boiled egg. It was thick and creamy, but I still do think that it would have been better if this was served warm.

Their Ajo Blanco Malagueno (Php 295), on the other hand, is cold soup with garlic, almonds, and grapes from the city of Málaga, Spain. Just like the Salmorejo, it is also served together with a slice of bread. This one is also an ingenious creation that was made fresh right off their kitchen. It was creamy, refreshing, and a great way to start off a lovely dinner.

We also had a taste of their paellas - their Paella Negra (Php 580) and Paella Mixta con Jamon Serrano (Php 860). The former was made up of paella rice immersed in squid ink and its sea flavor. It has mixed seafoods, meat and veggies in it, topped with squid rings and drizzled with garlic sauce or aioli. The latter was even more flavorful, thanks to its Jamon Serrano pieces spread all over.

I also got to indulge on their Montaditos Jamon Serrano Y Quezo Manchego (Php 570). This is sliced bread topped with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese. More tasty ham this time with sweet and lingering taste of melted milk cheese.

Of course my food journey to Spain wouldn't be complete without a glass of Sangria. It has the perfect blend of fruit and alcohol in it, and it wasn't too sweet nor strong either. It's the perfect drink to wash down all that food I had for dinner.

So if you are feeling fancy and in the mood for some drinks, then hit off Barcino in your best clothes and take a trip to Spain right here at their newest branch at the Ayala the 30th. Buen apetito!

We started off with generous amounts of cold cuts and cheese - the Nico Jamon Serrano, Nico Chorizo Iberico, and Manchego Semicurado. I couldn't get enough of the cheese and chorizo iberico! Yum!

Mejillones Pipirrana
cold mussels topped with vegetables

This is the first time I've had cold mussels, and I'm surprised it went really well with the vegetables!

Gambas al Ajillo
prawns in spicy garlic olive oil
This is one of their best sellers at Barcino, and I'm glad I got to enjoy it that night!

Sopa de Pescado
Mediterranean seafood soup with prawn, mussels, clams, and squid

If you are a true seafood fan, you will love this one! It's a bowl filled with all sorts of seafoods with a light base. I had to share mine with Tim because he enjoyed it so much haha!

Bacalao al Ajoarriero
bacalao in Northern Spain style

This dried salted cod fish was one of my favorites that evening. I like that they topped it with potato strips and included a side of bread in every plate. I couldn't help but scoop up all the remaining sauce onto it!

Txangurro al Horno
crab in basque style
The txangurro or better known as spider crab was pretty heavy on the flavor, which was perfect because it went really well with wines. I enjoyed the Godello Mara Martin (white wine) the most, while Tim couldn't stop with the Pizzaras de Otero (red wine).

I have a confession to make. We really don't like Spanish cuisine as much as we love Korean, Japanese, or even Mexican cuisine. We even went on a Spanish restaurant for our 5th anniversary and I kind of regretted that we did since it's not really in line with our tastebuds. However, Barcino Wine & Restobar was able to prove to us that Spanish cuisine can be this good and that it's worth your hard earned cash.

If you're looking for the perfect place to spend that date with your loved ones, give Barcino a try and, I assure you, you won't regret it.

There hasn't been a Barcino branch that I haven't enjoyed the interior. I really liked how they setup each piece in every branch. We ordered Barsao Blanca (Php480) white wine is our friend the next morning, cause it gives us less headache. Some items maybe pricey but there are wines that are affordable and fits your taste.
Whether it’s for brunch, lunch or dinner it’s always a good time at Barcino.

SALAD:
Mejillones Pipirrana (Php 225) deliciously flavored vegetables on top of mussels. I could eat the whole plate. Yum!

Salpicon de Pulpo y Gambas (Php 550) refreshing and light salad with chopped octopus and tiger prawns drizzled with red wine vinaigrette. Oh so good!!

TAPAS:
Coca de Sardinas (Php 275) crispy baked dough topped with Spanish sardines, vegetables with sriracha and olive oil.

Mejillones Tigre Rellenos (Php 295) golden brown surprise mussels with stuffed battered béchamel. Not too oily cooked just right.

Croquetas Jamon y Pollo (Php 300) hand crafted croquettes with chorizo.

Chorizo and Cheese Platter (Php 1,690) a great combination with wine and sangria. Several kinds of imported cheese and chorizo.

TRADITIONAL DISHES:
Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos de Carne (Php 325)

Callos a la Madrilena (Php 570)

PEALLA: Both paella were so delicious. It’s a meal on it’s own cause it’s filling and I couldn’t forget how delicious it was.
Pealla de Rabo de Toro (Php 795)
Paella Negra (Php 580)

Crema Catalana (Php 210) light and delicately sweet custard cream that was satisfyingly good. just the right of sweetness to make every meal a complete one.

Sangria (pitcher - Php 890) Get a pitcher of sangria with your friends for a night of fun! It’s refreshing with a kick.
