The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Can't wait to eat here again!
VENUE: 5/5
Very hidden, yet conveniently placed next to Shangri-La mall which allows for easy parking. The restaurant is reminiscent of traditional Japan interiors, but with a hint of something I cannot describe. Lovely decor though!
FOOD: 9/10
Well thank goodness their meat is godly, because otherwise I would have been sorely disappointed. Their best seller is Saga Rib Eye Grade A4 that I ordered rare (comes uncooked and you cook it yourself on a hot stone) and it quite literally melted in my mouth. This being said, I think I discovered that I like meats that are a bit less marbled, but that is just a personal preference. I remember being pleased with the side dishes, but I cannot recall what they were...
SERVICE: 5/5
Service was not memorable, which it ideal for me so that I may focus on the food.
OVERALL: 19/20
Delicious steaks with a bit of a price tag, but so incredibly delicious.
A world-class steak experience.
My girlfriend and I decided to have our Valentine’s date here and we were not disappointed.
Obviously, the price of the food here is way up there. But to say that the experience, the quality, and the taste of the food is “worth it” is an understatement.
The complimentary bread was fresh, hot, and deliciously goes with the butter they provide. Don’t eat too much bread though to not be pre-filled before the main event.
We ordered 350g of Ribeye Grade 8. The steak is big enough for two people as advertised. The meat melts in your mouth like butter and the flavor immediately covers your palate.
The baked potato that goes with the wagyu is also spot-on perfect. It’s soft, and flavorful. It really complements the rich flavor of the wagyu beef.
Pasta Pomodoro is a great side for the steak. The rich tomato flavor complements the wagyu steak you’re having. My girlfriend usually doesn’t like Italian-style pasta (it being sour), but this is an exception for her.
The Gambas is also a revelation. The freshness of the shrimp and the garlic flavor with the olive oil can be tasted with every bite.
Service is also world-class. Something that I expected from a restaurant of this caliber.
We had our new year's eve dinner here and I was VERY impressed. The soup, salad, service and wagyu were all exquisite! We loved the wine and oysters as well. Would definitely come back here. Worth the price for us.
no doubt its wagyu beef being served here, other menu selections are excellent, loved their pomodoro pasta, crew were kind, attentive and courteous, place is cozy but can not escape from the smell from the beef as it sizzles on the stone grill.
This place is the has the best Steaks in the world. Cooked on a hot stone in front of you. The meat done to your liking. Its tender, juicy and yes worth every peso. Not Only will it satisfy your craving but also a workd class experience..
BEYOND AMAZING!!! The steak on the hot stone was perfect! Started off with Smoked Salmon. The Salad with strawberry vinaigrette just blew me away! Cant get over how it all blended perfectly
Delicious, pretty basic but hey, good quality steak for even the lower grade ones. As is expected. Also the sides were so tasty, great drinks.
😍 Top Sirloin Grade 10
✒ this is top grade. The meat was so tender and full of flavor.
😋 Rib Eye Grade 8
✒ this was yum as well. But i think i was expecting it to be more marbled. I like the former better. Availed the grsde 8 with citi promo so it came in with a soup, sides and dessert with coffee. 😋 mashed potato
✒ was seasoned well, it complements the steak
We had a great experience! We had the grade 8 set meal c/o Citibank and it was glorious. Although the appetitizers were a bit too small for my liking, the main course was a delight. The service was excellent too. the staff are very courteous. We felt really comfy. We are definitely coming back for more. Just be careful with the stone grill though. Its really hot.
For our tenth anniversary (yikee), we decided to have our celebration at the House of Wagyu in Shangri-La. I've always been curious about this place and have always wanted to compare it to Melo's which we go to every now and then for our special occasions
We ordered their rib eye grade 10 on a stone grill. This came with a salad and their soup of the day. I wasn't able to ask though what the salad and soup were but they were just ok and not particularly memorable. We also ordered their suisse raclette. I was thinking it would be a fairly substantial slab of cheese but it wasn't. It was just a small appetizer and i honestly found it too expensive for what i got out of it.
The star of the show of course is the beef and thankfully, it was amaziiing. I like the beef better than the beef at Melo's. Maybe because you can cook and season the beef yourself so you can flavor it the way you want to while cooking it on the stone grill. We cooked the beef i believe medium rare. Pink but with the right amount of crust with pepper and sea salt. Quite good.
For dessert, we had their frangelico panacotta and their poached pears ala mode. The panacotta was a bit more solid than what a panacotta should be. It was ok but it could have been softer. As Massimo Bottura puts it, a panacotta should dance on the plate and this did not dance at all. The poached pears were quite nice. I've never had poached pears before and i quite liked it.
So overall, despite the other dishes being so so, I'd still give it a 4 because of that amazing steak and Hoise of Wagyu is a steak place so as expected, it was amazing. I'd go back for sure but I'll try the other appetizers and desserts and look for the nice ones
I ate here last night, on my birthday, and was extremely satisfied. :) The food was excellent, as was the service. I especially recommend the Rib-Eye Steak for your main course (the meat was superb... tender, flavorful and glorious (try to get it at a minimum of grade 8 or higher). The mushroom soup was also a winner, as was the Panna Cotta (terrific) and Flourless Chocolate Cake (it might taste differently weird for those of you used to the usual, flour-filled version, but the chocolate is rich and yummy and well worth the experiment). I ate here with my family and everyone enjoyed the food. The ambiance is also superb. Elegantly tasteful interiors and lighting ( I want their table lamps for my home... :) This is a place that is certainly worth the money you'll need to pay for it. It's certainly not cheap, but whatever it is they charge is absolutely worth it. It was a very happy birthday for me, indeed. :)
Over-all, my ratings are as follows:
Ambiance: 5 full stars (perfect for a special lunch or dinner);
Service: 5 attentive, personable and delightful;
Food: 5 full stars (best steak I've tried in Manila apart from La Cabrera, Stockton Place and Mamou);
Value for Money: 5 (not cheap, but every peso you spend is well worth it.)
I'm considering going back for Valentine's Day... ;)
Some may disagree but i'll probably rank this as the best steak place in the country. It is stone grilled and you get to choose your own chunk of meat. Some may say that they have very limited options, but for me, you go there for a good steak and you will definitely have a great one. May be a bit pricey but you'll really get a simple yet perfect tasting and perfect texture steak.
Wagyu Ribeye Set Meal @ Php 2k ++ using Citibank CC
Peas Soup
Ceasar Salad
Premium Wagyu Ribeye Grade 8
Mashed Potatoes and Buttered Veggies
Creme Brûlée
Because it's stone grill, I have more control on the "doneness" of the steak. Tender goodness! With the soup, salad and dessert plus the quality of steak, SULIT!
Service was also good with extra attention made to check if we are comfortable and if food served was ok.
Expensive and sides are too plain
Ambiance is cozy but has an old fashion feel
Stone grill experience is unique however you will smell like steak after.
Thanks to a Citibank promo, I got a free trip to this celebrated steak place. It's one of the top destinations for premium meats in town. Wagyu refers to high quality cattle from Japan and it is said to have higher levels of unsaturated fat.
I was served 220 grams of top Sirloin Grade 10. The higher the grade the more marbling of fat around the meat. This translates to being more tender, juicy and flavor.
It took me a longer time going through my steak. For one it was served to me raw with pepper and salt. The stone grill enables me to prepare it the way I want to. Imagine having some raw, medium rare, medium well and well done all in one piece of fine meat. Doing this was a delight.
They give you additional rock salt to heighten it up but I suggest keeping it to the minimum to maximize the real steak experience. No gravy nor other spices like mustard or horseradish are allowed. I was getting depressed knowing my slices were getting less. It was that good!
Prior to these salivating meal, I also enjoyed their Zucchini Soup. That warm bowl of veggie was fresh and well prepared. The basket of bread was too soft and tasty which made me guilty having more than I should.

Like the majority of people around the world, I enjoy a good steak. But I must admit, I am not a Steak snob. I only have two simple rules when eating steak. The first being, that the said piece of meat must contain fat. The more the merrier. It just makes the meat juicer for me. I don't know the science of it, but the bottom line is, I like my steak with a lot of fat.
Located at the Podium 5th level.. We arrived there a bit early for lunch around 11am. We were welcome by the staff and assist us to our seats.. Upon ordering, we were told that they have a 35% promo on that day (Oh how nice! 😊) We ordered 350g of Tenderloin Grade 8 (good for 2) and Alfredo con funghi. The order of steak comes with pumpkin soup and a choice of plain rice, garlic rice or mashed potato with veggies..
While waiting they served a basket of warm bread with butter.. i liked it..
Then they served the pumpkin soup.. i loved it! It's warm and tasty.. afterwards they served the tenderloin in a hot volacanic stone.. if it's your first time they will assist you on how to grill.. the meat was very tender.. meat lover will surely love it especially with red wine (but no red wine for me now.. i'm preggy hehe)
The whole experience could be classified as 5-star.
The customer service experience is superb!!
Would definitely come back on special occasions..
And by the way since it's 35% off that day.. from 5K+ our final bill was around 3.9k 🖒
If you're looking for steak that can stand on its own, you can't go wrong with House of Wagyu. Wagyu is premium beef known for its intense marbling that, when cooked, creates that melt-in-your-mouth feeling that's normally used to describe with chocolates. If you're wondering what A5, grade 12 wagyu tastes like, then head over to House of Wagyu and choose from a variety of cuts. There's a good chance that what you order will be some of the best steak you'll ever have in your life.
The steaks are so good that you only need to season it with a bit of salt and pepper. The prices are a bit steep, but that's what you need to pay for a quality steak. For more information on wagyu and the grading system used, check out this article.
We tried the House of Wagyu experience for ourselves and here's what you can expect.
We only ate here because of the promo of Citibank where you get half-off for a specific set meal. I ordered the Ribeye Grade 9 set, the service was really good but in my opinion the food was not worth the money even with the promo. Don't get me wrong the steak was delicious but it was just not worth the price. In terms of serving size the steak was just right and you are going to be full after this meal. The set meal was composed of potato leek soup, caesar salad (forgot to take a picture), 220g of grade 9 ribeye steak that is place on a stone grill, mixed vegetables and a creme brûlée. I prefer my steak cooked to medium rare or medium so I advise that you don't take too long to eat your steak because when you leave it on the stone grill too long it just keeps on cooking turning your steak into well done.
After being informed of the thanksgiving promo, I quickly took advantage and reserved. House of Wagyu Stone Grill has always been my luxury steak favorite. Ohgosh you can never go wrong with steaks and this is the place to splurge for the best. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you're sure to smell the aroma and build on your appetite. My brother and I ordered the 500g tenderloin grade 8 that comes with potato soup, mashed potatoes, and buttered vegetables. We requested it in butterfly cut for ease of consumption. I've always loved how the stone grill allows you to cook the meat the way you like it and all you need is a bit of salt to savor the thick juicy cuts. Thanksgiving indeed :)
Best steak I have tasted in my life by far!
Soon as we entered, the meat smelled heavenly, lifting our mood in an instant.
We brought our own Rioja bottle and had it chilled.
The interiors are sparsely decorated, focusing mainly on the must-haves which I like. The place is a bit small for a much-raved restaurant, but enough to make me feel comfortable.
The waiters are knowledgable, able to explain the menu when asked, and very attentive. They go the extra mile by opening and closing the entrance for the customers too.
I used to think Wagyu steak is overrated from the way the cows are raised all the way to the kitchen but this is well worth it. We ordered the Rockerfeller oysters, Mediterranean salad and the grade 8 Tenderloin 350grams which was good for 2. Bread as expected came in first, warm on a basket with a slice of butter. Cream of potato and leeks came next on a hot plate, styled elegantly (check photo) I precisely ordered the Mediterranean salad because I love sun dried tomatoes and feta cheese in vignairette dressing to wet my palate which was straightforwardly tangy and sweet like sunshine. Paired with the Rioja we brought along (they allow up to 2 bottles of wine without corkage), viola! Perfect to clean my tongue before starting on to the Wagyu steak and oysters!
About the oysters. Two thumbs up! It was served on a hot plate, beautifully arranged with leaves of basil hidden on the torched bechamel sauce which was lightly browned on top like toast cheese. The basil leaf does make a distinct twist on the sauce. Tip: add one or two drops of tabasco on top of the cheese to make it even more lovely. Soon as the steak was served sizzling on stone in front of us, it just melted all our worries away. Slicing it was like slicing butter. We didn't even have to put pressure on it. What else can I say. For the first time. My mouth salivated as I type this. Go and try it for yourself!
Sirloin grade 10 500g - really good and juicy! Unlike others with more marbling, this delivers the right amount of fat+ taste (without getting too dizzy after!)
Gambas - not as spicy as I expected. But still good.
Oysters Rockefeller - theyre definitely not skimping on good quality ingredients. And the oytsers are huge!
Scallop and Shrimp salad - the strawberry vinaigrette was the best. Mangoes were fresh and the shrimps and scallop had just the right proportion for the crunchy greens.
Only con- ventillation. Wish they had some sort of exhaust to help with the smoke from the steak. Also wish the veggies in the hot plate for the steak had a bit more seasoning. Otherwise, its all good.

House of Wagyu prides themself in serving high-quality Wagyu steaks which you cook in a hot stone. For a steak lover like myself, I can say that they have one of the best steaks in Metro Manila. I always ask for the ribeye steak which has ample fat content because fat makes everything better. The steaks are really melt-in-you mouth if you cook your steak the right way. They do serve unlimited bread and butter, one serving of soup, rice or mashed potato, and sometimes salad to go with your steak. The staff was also very accommodating and assist you in cooking your steak. This is a perfect date place if you want to impress your dates. Just be careful because after eating you can smell like steak as well because you cook your steak in front of you.
My friend is craving for steak so we decided to come here. We ordered the rib eye and tenderloin to share for 3 and the mediterranean salad to start. The steaks we ordered included a creamy onion soup and mashed potatoes with veggies. Bread and butter were also served.
Since it is stone grilled you can choose how it is cooked in your table. Have always had mine medium well. The steaks were all very good but I prefer the tenderloin because it is leaner than the rib eye.
To end our meal we had the pana cotta with berries. Loved it but would have been nicer if the berries were fresh.
A bit pricey but a good one to have once in a while! Staff were very attentive and friendly.
Its my 2nd time here and i like it. The ambience is so classy(though a little too cold for me) and the staff are just okay. Im not a fan of the Seabass in aluminum foil that i ordered but i get a chance to taste one of the rib eyes that they have on the menu and it was just okay too. But the thing that i love here is the Foie Gras Salad. It was recommended by my friend and he didnt disappoint me there.
Not my first time and not my last, HOUSE OF WAGYU STONE GRILL is the place to go to for your steak fix.
Located on the top floor of THE PODIUM, The HOUSE OF WAGYU STONE GRILL, seats on a quiet corner waiting to lure customers in with their incredible steak.
Since it was my dad's birthday and I was bombed with what happened to me, we figured to have lunch in our go to steak place. This is not our first time time, as we usually frequent their branch in Eastwood, so we kind of knew what to expect.
I ordered their special set meal since I wanted to try the 999 Php deal. It included soup of the day, salad, mashed potato with some veggies and the AUSTRALIAN WAGYU SIRLOIN 220gm usually priced at 1450Php.
Dad, on the other hand, went for his usual TENDERLOIN GRADE 8 (220gms at 3050Php)
We started off with some soup. French Onion if I am not mistaken.
Lovely, not too thick and perfect. Alongside with the refillable bread basket and butter.. we were actually nearing our fill.
My set had a generous portion of CAESAR SALAD and since dad didn't have one included, he ordered one for himself (245Php) which actually is good for 2 to 3 persons.
He liked the light
When I got my sirloin, I was a little disappointed. The meat was rolled up and it is something that I don't often experience when eating there at HOUSE OF WAGYU. Worst, it was placed near the edge of the stone so I don't know if the heat would evenly cook the meat.
When I tried to open it up, I knew it. It was two cuts of steak. Joined together and seemed to look as if it was a single. What should I expect? At only, 999Php, I guess you get what you paid for. It was a bit difficult to cook this since everything was spread on the hot stone.
Flavor wise, it was all right. You control how you take it, since you cook it. The staff would assist and guide you but the choice of how you would take it is up to you.
On the other hand, my dad and I was pretty impressed with the TENDERLOIN GRADE 8.
As the name says, it is super duper tender. Even if you over cook it a bit, the meat is flavorful and super soft.
Since my dad was full from the salad and the bread, I got some piece off his plate.
It was juicy and soft. Simple as that. I had to place the uncooked meat on a separate plate so that it won't be overcooked. A little searing here and there definitely made it awesome. A melt in your mouth moment.
We were served a side of mashed potatoes with a few veggies.
Skipped the veggies!
HOUSE OF WAGYU has been there for quite sometime now and my family loves eating here. I guess next time out, we would go for the medium priced cuts as they have more flavor. Quality wise, they are a notch higher than the usual. Budget would be around 3,000 Php per person if you are up for a steak dinner.
Perfect service, perfect steak and scallops. It's not cheap, but it is fantastic quality through and through. It's worth every cent and I cannot recommend it highly enough to everybody.
I'm a happy customer. Great for special occasions. Terrific service also. If you're on a budget, share a steak. If you're on a diet.. Wagyu is, by definition, fatty. All the steaks here are generously marbled (meaning lots of fat content) because there are no wagyu steaks that are lean. You just have to pick a lesser evil. Tenderloin and striploin have less marbling. Go for those.
They also have other non-steak items. The seabass, raclette, gambas and scallops are yum. :-)
Wagyu here is like a piece of beef heaven! Melts in your mouth (like chocolates). It's the best beef I've ever had! We will definitely come back here for this Super Wagyu-licious!!!
Excellent steaks but sadly overpriced, even with their regular 30% promo discounts. I would recommend the top grade rib-eye instead of the wagyu. The latter has too much marbling making it soft, but it also means that it's too much fatty. I would go back if they were on Deal Grocer with a 50% discount :)
The house of Wagyu is by far the best quality steak house I've eaten at in the Philippines. Yes it is a bit pricy but compared to the steak houses I've visited around the world it's actually a fair market price. The environment is peaceful, and relaxing. I'd say an ideal place to go on dates and maybe unwind after a stressful week of work. Overall, wonderful food and service.
