Great delicious food, I had the opportunity to stop here in February 2017 and loved the food. I live in Southern California in the United States and being of Mexican descent, I am no stranger to good Mexican food. This is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten outside of the US or Mexico itself. If this restaurant was located here in California I would frequent it weekly. I will make it a point to eat at your restaurant the next time I am in Manila.

Food was simply delicious! And the drinks! Kudos to the bar tender preparing them. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I'd say I made friends with most of them before the night was over. Simple, delicious, no pretentious plating. Just mexican comfort food in my humble opinion.

They catered for my and my mom's double birthday celebration last Sunday and the food was just awesome! Authentic taco bar with the freshest, homemade ingredients. Absolutely loved the suadero (beef) and carnitas (pork) which went so well with the guac and salsa verde! Thank you, Chef Balam and Dodjie! Your food was a huge hit!

we’d heard a lot of good things about this (sort of) hidden gem in the heart of ortigas, and we decided to try it out. nagdinner na kami sa mendokoro prior to heading here, so we decided to just share their tres amigos, a combination of their suadero, pollo a la pibil, and carnitas tacos. we also had a couple of drinks on the side.

bes, okay naman siya. masarap and juicy ang meat ng tacos, although a bit on the salty side (partida na maalat na ang panlasa namin ha!). it was nice that they offered a variety of sauces, pero nothing mindblowing. yung dalandan margarita, quickly served - pero sa una, pangalawa, at pangatlong tikim ay lasang sampalok.

to be fair, maganda ang ambiance, mabilis ang service, and the prices were reasonable. if you're just looking for a chill place to hang out ‘til the wee hours and munch on some mexican fare, baka eto ang resto for you.

Aside from Uncle Moe's and Frankie's, City Golf also has LO DE ALBERTO! This is the first Mexican restaurant that we enjoyed from start to finish. Don't leave without trying their Beef Burritos and Tacos. Yup! Beef is definitely their strong suit. It's the kind one would crave for.

Overall, food is reasonably priced. Each dish is filling and good for sharing.

Nice to pair them up with beer too. We had Cerveza Pacifico and Victoria Cerveceria. 🍺

This little taqueria serves quality and great tasting tacos. I don't think I'm the best person to say if this is an authentic taqueria as they claim to be because I haven't gone to Mexico but I am impressed by their tortilla as they use the one made with corn masa. The tortilla perfectly holds the meat/toppings and doesn't get soggy at all. Service is fast, the only thing I don't like about this restaurant is the acoustics. It was too noisy and I can literally hear other table's discussion. Also, the night we went here, there were so many mosquitoes.

Good, tasty mexican food at an excellent price point, and with a relaxed ambience. The flavoring of the salsa is incredibly on point, and pairs well with almost any of their dishes. The dishes with any sort of bean mix are particularly tasty for me.

The cheese-based dishes are not particularly flavorful due to the sort of cheese they use, but otherwise everything is good.

Went there as a small group rather late, and it was a slight pet peeve that the staff (?) would randomly change the songs in the piped-in music even mid-song, but otherwise great service!

Had a nice catch-up with a friend over good mexican food,

Had a couple of tacos and the Suadero (Beef) stole the show while next was the Ensenada (Fish),

The cheese quesadilla can be improved as it turned out a bit bland to my taste and the other tacos I tasted were just ok,

Will definitely be back for anything they serve with the Suadero such as the Burrito and more!

The Limon drink was also a nice soothing drink, overall nice experience.

Thumbs up!
The closest Mexican and authentic it can be.

Their menu is straight up more choices

Their servings are for sharing to make sure you have someone to share it with.

My favorite is the Burrito en Albondigas and their Tamarind juice.

Their Burrito, Tacos are good too!

Love the food and ambiance of this place! Been here 3x and never fails to satisfy my Mexican craving and yet deliver great service.

Their chilaquilles (P220) is officially now my basis of a great loaded taco. I don't normally like candied ginger but somehow in this dish it becomes all things magical.

Elotes (P90) is not great though, hope they can source for better corn and improve on the recipe.

Taquiza (P490) is an excellent choice if you're just craving for all kinds of meat or just dont know what to order.

The Ensenada (P185) is a wonderfully crispy and light choice. Who would have thought that seafood and taco will go together? Hubby hates the idea of it but his eyes lit up when he tried it. He's a purist but his eyes lighting up says it all.

Definite must go if you're in the area. Personally I prefer this place over the resto beside it that has a mile long line.

They were actually right, this is the most authentic taqueria there is. Best dalandan Margarita ever. Sadly, when we ordered the sangria right after, it lost its sweetness because of the strength of the margarita flavor. Sweet and strong. The salsa in the nachos were a little different. It was thin, and the tomatos are super ground which makes their purée unique. I just hope they could put melted cheese on the side.

Great Mexican food without breaking the bank. The price is pretty reasonable for what you get. We loved the Campechano (Php230) burrito, which was filled with delicious chorizo and extremely soft lengua. The Suadero (Php185) was good but nothing to write home about. Maybe they could have added more seasoning. But all dishes we ate were elevated by free sour cream which went well with their salsas.

Great Mexican place in City Golf Plaza!

We had the Sopa Pancita, a spicy soup with beef tripe, for appetizer. For our mains, we opted for the assorted soft tacos because we wanted to try out the entire soft tacos selection. Quite notable was the the one with lengua and chorizo. We also had the Albóndigas, a saucy burrito, and Chorizo-Suadero, an extremely cheesy quesadilla. For dessert, we had the Pay de Limon, which was one of the best lemon tarts in the Metro, and Gortidas de Pilloncillo.

The Margaritas were also very good. This is a great place to spend a Friday night with family and friends.

A tad pricey with service charge but I found the quality worth it. I had the enchiladas and they were very nice. The chicken was tender and the rolls had good stuffing. I also ordered the horchata. Wasn't too sweet but it was refreshing. I recommend ordering this with a light meal since it's a milk based drink. If you're going to order a fatty dish, stick with a tamarind agua Fresca. The ambiance was very nice and cozy. One thing I wish they had was an option for flour tortillas. ❤️🙏

Best MEXICAN RESTAURANT in Manila. 👍🌮🌯🍸

From Q.C. but went here so many times with my workmates. Imagine the travel time just to go here after work? Haha (worth it!)

We also witnessed the time they are just starting up (they have a small area in the middle of the parking of city golf) and after a few months, they got their own place! Yayy!

Super love their BOGO (Buy 1 Get 1) MANGO Margarita!!! (nothing compared to the unli margarita of others! Haha)

Super cheap price. 😁 We also love the ENCHILADAS for our pica pica. 😁

Keep it up and more branches sooon! 😁😁😁

Best Mexican food in the Philippines, you cannot get more authentic food than here. Of course is not going to be the same as in Mexico, but it's real close to traditional Mexican food. The restaurant is not big and somehow it could feel crowded at times but overall it's a highly recommended place to have your fix of (real) tacos.

Great stuff! Tried them way back before they moved to their present location. Liked it then, love it more now.

We had the suadero, ensenada, gran campechano, and carnitas tacos last night. Loved them all, but the suadero and gran campechano were the ones that stood out (my wife had the ensenada and since she liked it so much, I didnt taste it na).

Went back tonight and had the ensenada and agua chile tacos, the chorizo-suadero quesadilla, and the tripe soup (forgot what it was called). Was not disappointed at all. The aqua chile tacos were amazing. Amazing.

The service is good and the servers are really attentive, even on a busy Saturday night. Tonight was a bit more laid back. Keep it up guys.

Lo de Alberto is now my go-to place for Mexican. I don't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon.

Had dinner here with friends last night.

Lo de Alberto gives value for your money. Aside from offering buy one get one on their cocktails, they are very generous with their servings as well.

The chilaquiles came in one big pile and was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of their suaderro burrito! As I took a bite though, I felt that it was missing that extra kick of Mexican flavor to it. The green salsa on the side did help with that a bit--don't get me wrong though, it was still quite tasty nonetheless and very filling.

I will make it a point to come back and try the other dishes on the menu.

**Update - I came back tonight for dinner with friends. First things first, I would like to thank Raven, the staff who took our orders tonight, for being so patient with all our questions about the menu.

Here are the items we ordered tonight:

- Albondigas - It was interesting to have sauce in your burrito, but surprisingly, it worked. Plus, the burrito was huge!

- Enchiladas - These smelled divine once thry came out of the kitchen and it tasted wonderful as well

- Hongo - I expected a bit more for this dish since Raven had said that this was their chef's specialty, but it was honestly nothing special

Overall, our visit tonight was a good one.

Still a place I'd recommend if you want to try Mexican food apart from what we're used to.

According to a friend who grew up in Mexico, the taste of the food in Lo de Alberto is the closest to authentic Mexican dishes out of all the Mexican restaurants in the metro. We tried the Carnitas Burrito (P235), Tres Amigos (P220) and Limon (P110). If you are used to the Mexican food served in most restaurants in the Philippines, your taste buds might get shocked with the many different spices that come with the food. I really liked the Tres Amigos since I got to taste three types of tacos (beef, pork and chicken) in just one order! The Limon drink goes well with the food, to cleanse the palate after all those tasty spices.

However, we found it weird that we had to go to the counter to order. You can keep an open tab and then go back to the counter to settle your bill. This is cumbersome if you are as indecisive as me (we had to go back and forth to the counter if we have an additional order). We could've stayed longer if not for this strange system for ordering and payment 😅

If you’re looking for authetic Mexican food, this is the place for you! Great tacos and amazing quesadillas! I love their soft corn tortilla. I’ve read some reviews here saying that their food is bland, there’s a good reason why mexican food always come with different sauces. I think, in a way, Filipinos are used to salty dishes. Matched all these with a Lemonade and a Margarita haha!

The place is jam-packed on weekends. Glad my friend already had a table reserved for us. Otherwise, you’d have to wait on queue.

I am refreshed to discover Lo de Alberto in Pasig.

Their authentic Mexican cuisine is the major reason why I’m delighted. Tried the Hongo Quesadilla, Chilaquiles, Taco Suadero, Tamarindo and Horchata for drinks. Everything is homemade, legit, fresh, and you can taste the pure Mexican culture. Interiors and lighting brings you to what it feels like in a Mexican home. Commendable service from their staff. They are attentive to guest’s needs. You wouldn’t question the value for money. All are worth it.

Thanks for the invite, Lo de Alberto!

Note: This review is long overdue. Based on a visit on October 17, 2017.

Lo de Alberto-- They claim to be 'The only authentic Taqueria in the Philippines.' Honestly, I would stand behind their words. Their Mexican food isn't only authentic, but also all homemade, which is how many taquerias actually are in Mexico itself.

I didn't feel 100% that day. So my appetite was small. But I still wanted to eat out. Lo de Alberto was a place I picked not so far from work as I had a shift later on.

There were many delectable things on their menu. Burritos, quesadillas, tacos, etc. I was so torn as to what to order, it all looked good, especially the few pictures they had on the menu made it all the more difficult to decide. In the end I ordered the Tres Amigos Tacos, which consisted of 3 different tacos on a plate. The 3 different meats where chicken, beef and pork, all had different toppings already, and then of course, some salsa and options on the side, and a wedge of lime. Let's not also forget the bottle of hotsauce on the side. What's a taco without hotsauce? :)

Wow, wow, wow! All 3 were so awesomely delicious, all of them a favorite at a different level. But by ranking them... pork was my top, chicken came in 2nd, and beef was my least favorite.

For my drink, I ordered a Horchata, which is a milk rice and cinnamon drink. I don't think I ever had milk rice anything. It was really good and super refreshing! I love cinnamon so it made me love the drink easily. The drink paired perfectly with the tacos. The creaminess of it balanced out with the citrus kick, and hotsauce heat.

Food: 5.0 - Best tacos I had in my life by far!

Price: 4.0 - P220 for 3 tacos. A taco was literally 2 bites each. The quality however well makes up for quantity.

Service: 5.0 - Friendly staff. I asked the waitress a few things about certain dishes before I made my order. Her recomendation for the Horchata was the cinnamon bomb!

Ambience: 5.0 - I love the ambience. Design is like a Mexican place that's laid back and comfy. Music too made me dance a bit in my seat. Get that Latin vibe on!

Even though the tacos were just 2 bites each, foodie me was satisfied. I also felt somewhat a little better over all at the end of the meal. Surely coming back to try more!

We went for lunch and tried the Taquiza, Chilaquiles and Campechano.  All were very good. The spices were fresh and just right, not too hot.  The corn tortillas were all authentic, with good texture.  The serving sizes were ok for the three of us, because we shared each dish.  Since it's a drinking place there were just two tables filled up for lunch, ours and another customer's.  Overall, I would return to this place and try the other dishes like the burritos.

The food was great. We got here at around 3pm for an afternoon snack. the place is quiet, not a lot of people is there around that time. We ordered their Tres Amigos and Quesadilla. The only thing that im not really a fan of is the area. It is hard to go if you don't have a car or if you dont ride uber/grab/taxi. But the walk from SM Mega to here is worth it because the food is bomb. will definitely go here again to try the drinks and other foods in the menu :)

The restaurant itself was pretty, but I was really taken by the area at the back. There were comfortable little sofas and pillows, pretty lights strung on top, with adorable piñatas.

Their Chilaquiles is the bomb! It was savory but the greens made it fresh at the same time. The meat was deliciously moist, making them really... well, delicious. But if there are only two of you (like us when we went there) you better eat fast because it's going to get pretty soggy. Still delicious, though. My boyfriend, who always orders some version of nachos everywhere we go, said it was on the top of his list now.

The mango margaritas were surprising. It had an element to it that gave it an extra oomph that I couldn't place. I'd have been annoyed about not being able to figure it out had it not been so good.

The sangrio de mexico used wine that was a little too dry for it, I think, making it less fruity and flavorful than I thought it would be. But it was still pretty good.

Btw, just had to say: your cashier, the fabulous man who took our orders, was very warm and accommodating. It definitely put us in a very good mood!

We had our burritos for take out so the tortillas were a bit soggy when we ate them (totally our fault) but still, they're delicious!

Enchiladas are worth a try too, especially for cheese lovers out there.

I can't say anything in terms of how authentic this taqueria is but if this helps, I believe the chef is a Latino.

I'll definitely eat within this sit down resto next time, Mexican food is best enjoyed straight from the kitchen.

Awesome authentic Mexican food! Love the new location (old Bugsy's Bar) so you don't have to eat outdoor in parking lot. Soft opening is when I went 6/5/17 and service was really good and fast. Beer was already on my table before I sat down since it's counter service (pay as you order). Tried the enchiladas, burrito, refried beans, and quesadilla and they were spot on! I can see this place getting so packed because they have cheap pricing on beer, cocktails, and Sauza tequila, but that's a good thing, right?!? Did I mention the food is DELICIOUS? Yes, you have to go!

Finally tried this resto after seeing it several times! Got the Beef Burrito and the Tres Amigos Taco Platter. The Tres Amigos Taco Platter had a sampling, one piece each, of their pork, chicken, and beef tacos. Also got buy one, take one Dalandan Margeritas!

I just have to say that this restaurant is true to it's slogan which states that it is the only authentic taqueria in the Philippines. There aren't that much Mexican restos here in Manila but I have tried alot of Mexican restaurants in Florida, since alot of Latin people live there, so I have to say that Lo de Alberto is legitttt 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Got the Tacos and the tortilla wrappers they used were soft. I love how the meat wasn't dripping wet with it's sauce (or whatever you call it) unlike other taco places. You could also tell that the marinade they used wasn't a simple one because it was so flavorful! If i were to rank the 3 tacos i would rank it from:
1. Chicken (goddamn was it orgasmic)
2. Pork
3. Beef

The Beef Burrito in terms of purity was a legit burrito not some modern day/fusion thing like other restos. The moment I bit into it i could feel on my taste buds how soft and chewy the burrito was and how melted and gooey the cheese was. I loved this burrito! It was a no frills burrito. It was your good to honest burrito!

Must try!!! 400 to 500 per person and it's filling in my opinion! 👌🏾will be back!

This place had been oblivious to me due to Frankies but boy, I've been missing out. Their tacos are really good- the shell is soft and their Carnitas de Puerco is with a lot of pork and fresh vegetables to go with their sauces and crispy nachos. Their burritos are also good, and are reasonably priced, coming with the same nachos with a Jalapeno dipping sauce that is just the perfect heat to go with squeezed lime. As repeated and probably apparent, I love their nachos. Definitely food I can eat bags of without noticing. Their horchatas are the best- refreshing and just the right amount of cinnamon. Their horchatas are definitely must-trys!

Definitely try this place! Service is good and all their food items are definitely worth it. This is one of the better places to get Mexican themed food in the metro. A lot of people recommend their mushroom tacos and is surely something to try for next time.

This is as close as you can get to a Mexican taco stall in Manila. I love this place.

Forget those hipster taco places and sisig burrito joints. This is the real deal. Proper corn tortillas. An excellent salsa verde. Frijoles!

Highlights are the suadero (beef) tacos/burritos and the pollo a la pibil. All orders come with a side of plain nachos and salsa. Atmosphere isn't amazing (it's in a parking lot after all) but hey, that's where you find taco stalls in Mexico as well!

I have been to Mexico many times for work, and my business partner who is a taco/burrito expert (he's from Guatemala) who I took to this place also agrees it's the best spot in Manila for tacos. If you're not a big fan of refried beans go for the tacos since the burritos are stuffed with them.

Want to try a different cocktail? The El Jefe is really good. Horchata (ricemilk) with Kahlua and vodka. BAM!

Points for improvement? Music. The whole Buddha Bar/Hotel Costes soundtrack could be replaced with real Mexican music haha. But that's me nitpicking.

Will be back a LOT. It's walking distance from my condo so...

Those frijoles!!! And salsa verde!!! Wow!

Did I mention I love this place? Much props to Chef Balam Nazar (from Mexico City) for keeping it real.

The taqueria is located in a humble spot in City Golf's untroubled lineup of restaurants, bars and bistros.  Wooden tables and chairs are set outside, inconveniently located close to the parking lot (exposed to car emissions) and unsuitable dining in during rainy days, however, it's very al fresco and emulates a street food experience, much of a real taqueria.

They don't have much in their menu.  Around 3 to 4 varieties of taco, quesadilla, and burrito, and a few on the sides.  Special mention of their crowd pleaser, chilaquiles or hangover tortilla salad, often mistaken for nachos although very similar.  Each dish freshly made, with much ardor (hence channeling one of their hashtags, #frommexicowithlove) and have flavors with remarkable depth and balance.  You don't wanna miss as well their refreshing beverages. Horchata and margarita are my personal favorites. And oh! The salsas are also exciting.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. Their Mexican chef will even take time to ask you how the food is and will have a brief chat if he isn't too busy.

If you're looking for legit Mexican food, look no further than Lo de Alberto.

I am fast becoming a fan of this new and rising, small but very endearing taqueria located in the middle of a parking lot that makes it more rugged and edgy.

A very chill place where me and my friends enjoy our catching up, over Lo de Albertos cocktails,Margarita, and El Jefe which is (spiked horchata); it is dangerously so good and refreshing , wanting second, third rounds, making you a little bit tipsy and happy. As we drink and chat, we always like to munch something on the side, well, Lo de Alberto's Chilaquiles (hangover tortilla salad) makes the perfect pair for that.

They were not lying, when they said they were the only Authentic Mexican Taqueria in the city.

Personal Favorites & a must try: Horchata (rice milk with cinnamon) sweet and very refreshing , Tamarindo, Hongo Quesadilla (mushroom and cheese) , Carnitas de Puerco Tacos & Burritos , Chilaquiles (hangover tortilla salad).

Fast service and very friendly staff.
Price range: 500 for 2 pax

Kind of accidentally walked into this place as we were on our way to dinner somewhere else. The branding and the visuals were so inviting, we couldn't resist it.
I don't know any other establishments aside from El Chu that serves Horchata, so imagine my delight when I saw Horchata on their menu. Ordered one serving for myself and took another one for take away as I can't survive on just one serving haha. Quite good, really.

Our orders: Suadero taco with Frijolles y Arroz, Hongo quesadilla, and Chillaquiles. All items on the menu were really good. I saw them making their own corn flour tortilla too, so that's a plus. It's not your generic store-bought tortilla.  Chillaquiles were the bomb too, it had some sort of sauce that I can't explain, but I will be coming back here for that. Took a bite from Lee's quesadilla too. The flavors were quite unexpected, but I will be ordering the Hongo when I return.

Only thing I feel iffy about is their location. It's in a parking lot, so you will be exposed to a certain amount of pollution.

Definitely coming back here for the Horchata, Chillaquiles, and Hongo.

A lot of Mexican restaurants have been sprouting lately. I have been to a number in the past weeks. And all of them impressed. This place has great potential to be a go to place for affordable Mexican.

No air condition and near car pollution as it is located in the parking lot. Good thing the area is quite breezy and they served good food.

We started with drinks while we wait. We tried 3 of their 6 Aguas Fercas. Out of the three am glad I ended up with Rice & Cinnamon. It is a unique Mexican sweet fix. I loved the one of Su Casa. This one was almost perfect except for its extra sweetness.

The Tamarindo (Tamarind) had a nice touch of real sourness. The Sandia (Watermelon) was least favorite with a lack of fruity presence.

The two Quesadillas we had did not disappoint. A must have is their Mushroom version followed by the Carnitas (Pork). There is vibrant flavor and made better with light tortilla and melted cheese.

Pollo Ala Pilbil (Chicken Tacos) claims in it citrusy. It was but the meat texture wasn't up there. I should have gone burrito. I heard the Suadero (Beef) is really special.

Very good Mexican street food restaurant in the parking lot of City Golf Plaza.

We started with their beverages. Tamarindo is like a tart iced tea and Sandia is a refreshing watermelon shake.

The tacos are excellent - the best we've had in the metro. We tried both beef and chicken and both were both were very good. The pollo burrito was good but we'd still put Silantro's burrito ahead of this. The Queso Quesadilla was bland and disappointing. Kicking ourselves for not trying their Hungo (mushrooms) Quesadilla which we believe is great.

Best damn Pollo Burrito from first up to the last bite.
Wrapping was quite soft so you need to slowly peel the foil.
But, the best part is the inside.
Ingredients were kinda mashed up but I didn't mind. Told them to hold the onions.
I hate onions.
What blew me away was the taste of the lemon and chicken along with the (mashed) beans and (mashed) rice.
It just blended well.
Php230 price also blew me away.
Still, best damn Burrito.

Will come back for the pork then beef varieties.
Best damn Burrito in the metro.
