If you are looking for a place to eat in Kapitolyo try here. They serve lutong ulam at a affordable price. The place is nice and clean. Masarap ang mga ulam.
SOSYAL NA CARINDERIA. The place is a hole in a wall. You can order what you see in their set of foods in the display trays. Typical carinderia style with a twist.
Love the food! Service was ok and place was nice, though felt stuffy and old. Would appreciate it if there was aircon haha.
Price wise, it's a bit steep for lutong bahay, but worth it taste wise. Just that theres too much oil. Id come back here though, if I were craving for Filipino!
One of the best Adobos I've tried in Manila! Not sweet! Real Luzon style! Just have to ask for meat without fat! And the place is really nicely decorated!
Sisig was one of the Best. But the service is WTF! It took 35 minutes. Not a good thing. But I admit, foods are very Delish and Filipino. The price is right aswell, nothing to complain 'bout that.
Good food at reasonable price!
Try their Kalderatang baka at 179 pesos that can be good for 2 and 1/2 Garlic buttered chicken at 160 pesos that can be for 3 persons.
Had a breakfast here at around 7am. The place was so lively already eventhough we were one of their first costumers. Food was good and affordable. I really admire the interior of this place. Native and antique materials were used and displayed. Also, they have a stage for live band. Its like a class carinderia.
We have a great dinner experience here. They have live band and I can say it is good tambayan with barkada. I observed that it has 3 parts - in front of the counter (which has more lights ang lighter ambiance), the middle part near the live band (which is a little bit dark but have a nice ambiance) where we seated and the inside bar ( where they offer drinks) and compare to the first two it is totally different).
About the food, we loved our dinner. It is affordable and like a lutong bahay but it is really good :) my favorite is their fried chicken which I think is marinated with butter. The sizzling pusit is tender and I love it! The iNihaw na tilapia is really tasty!
Loved their kaldereta, leche, kapeng barako and siomai. The place turns into a bar with live acoustic band at night. Have a full meal and/or drinks with Filipino delicacies as your beer match. Venue is indoor but not air-conditioned. Nice place to hang at during rainy days.
Price is alright but for some of the choices particularly vegetable dishes, it's pretty much overpriced considering the serving size. The taste is good but they need to work on their portion control
The not so typical "eatery/carinderia". Self service with reaaallly goood foood!
Amazing interiors! I love its Vintage ambiance. Good place to eat and relaxxxxx!
they had one of the best dinuguan and sisig in the metro 🤗😍 i also loved their mechado and famous adobo 😋 i liked their siomai, halohalo and leche flan as well 😄😋 i actually liked almost all of their lutong-bahay dishes.. everything about this kainan was really good even the ambiance🖒🖒..
Good food. Good price. If you're on a tight budget and you want a good filipino food, it's the place to be. They're also playing random background music, i think also sometimes there are live performer because there's a mini stage inside.
You could also see old japanese dolls, and many many plates around.
On the not-so-good part... It lacks on the variety of food, because when we went there maybe there's only a max. of 10 kinds of food they're serving. But maybe because it's already 8pm and some of the menu has been sold out.
But... Still, it's good to experience this kind of restaurant/carinderia.
If you're on a tight budget and wants comforting home cooked meals, this place is where you should go. The place is cozy and welcoming and the food is, well, delish!
We went here for our date and the food was great. They serve home cooked meals that doesn't scrimp on ingredients. Souvenirs are also sold there.
Cafe Juanita used to be located here prior to moving to their bigger location on the other side of the road. Anyway, the legacy of good filipino food remained in this turo-turo style place.
For me, you can never go wrong with this place. Apart from the eclectic Asian decors, this is like eating at home. The food is flavorful and the price is so affordable. I have tried their chicken afritada, pork and egg adobo, ginataang langka. Lutong-bahay in a good way. Comforting familiar flavors. You can have a meal at less than a hundred bucks. I have not tried their desserts though since i only get to pass by this place at night. I just feel it is too much for me to have sweets such as canonigo or halo-halo at night. But i definitely want to try their desserts.
Next time you are in the area and you are low on budget but want good food, this is the right place.
Definitely worth visiting.
