love their carbonara and tuna sandwich. we asked the server to split the carbonara into two. so happy that we ordered this, while the tuna sandwich is very yummy too. Good place for merienda.
Ample seats. Accomdating staff.
Excellent bakeshop and they are able to maintain it’s quality ever since they opened their first branch at Sm Megamall during the early 90’s (close now). You will not go wrong with their signature chicken salad on monroe bread! If you love a soft buttery bread, you can also buy a pre pack monroe bread as this is one of their best selling loafs!
Well perhaps I came here at a right time—meryenda time, to enjoy good service and well prepared food. I’d say the food was really value for money. The ramen was not too oily, the tuna salad had the right amount of crunch and the seafood cake was huge and filling. I would definitely go back.
This place is super underrated!! I remember enjoying the food here, especially the sushi since the serving was really big and the fact that it tasted pretty good too. Would come back here again!
Food is actually just ordinary especially when you dine for the 10th time or so. In my opinion, their Carbonara and the maple croissant are the most interesting dishes there. But what keeps us coming back is the great service of manager Josh and the team!
Haven’t dined in a Japan in a long time. I enjoyed the salmon. While I ate sushi, I really like sashimi more. My little girl liked the carbonara.
We’ve just visited Estancia Mall in Pasig, which is quite nice, so we didn’t pass up the chance to try their bakeries. We love bread and we even had a showdown of bakeries in Eastwood City a while back. While strolling about Estancia Mall, we found this bakery that has quite a lot of customers. My wife and I immediately wanted to try it out. It’s Jipan Café & Bakeshop.
3.5! Got food delivery from here via Foodpanda. food arrived on time and very well packed with chopsticks and plastic cutlery.
Pork Gyoza was very good. Chicken Salad Sandwich on Monroe Bread was just superb. Lettuce, cucumber and shredded cabbage on super soft Monroe Bread. The bread is so soft it can be eaten by itself! Moist and tasty sandwich.
Good japanese with some special dishes if you look closely. Was pleasantly surprised by their pancake/okonomiyaki type dish composed of rice fried to a crisp, topped with salmon and mango. Sort of a dish one conjures up but lacks the technical kitchen know how to execute. Was happy to have discovered this dish.
When it comes to comfort food, Jipan comes top of mind in my list. Have you ever tried their Monroe bread? If not, you should, because it's really good. The bread is quite thick and has this buttery and crunchy crust. Sandwiches are better with this bread.
My mom often raved about Jipan, even back when it only had an outlet in Megamall. It was a reliable place that could give you that fix to your craving. When we went here on an early Saturday, we ordered sandwiches, okonomiyaki, and a donburi meal. The servings were generous, and the bread was terrific. I went for the Okonomiyaki though, which I was only able to devour halfway. My brother loved his donburi, and my mom enjoyed her sandwich.
The okonomiyaki is of course different from the other specialty shops popping around the Metro but nevertheless it was decent. It had a fair amount of ingredients, and it was quite heavy in the stomach. I had a spoonful of my brother's donburi which was very savory and tasty, and a bite from my mom's sandwich, which made the monroe bread even more unforgettable. It just seemed so perfect with the chicken filling.
Jipan never fails to comfort me with their offerings. Their staff are very attentive too which reminds me, this place deserves another visit soon. Price points are 250 - 500 per head.
One of my favorites for Japanese comfort foods.
Asides the pastries, I go here for the Seafood Don and gyoza. Big servings and tastes really good (always served warm!). Try their beef curry too, meat was really soft and easy to chew.
The menu was sort of pricey at first glance but when our orders came, the servings were actually bigger than expected! Since me and my mum usually would eat light on dinner, I made a comment about splitting my meals with her and to my surprise, the waiter actually did the effort to split the meals for us.
Below is the list of food we ordered (the one with the asterisk is what I personally liked; too bad I didn't take pictures):
Seafood Okonomiyaki*
Bolognese Pasta*
Beef Teriyaki Pita
Gyudon
Seafood Salad
Spicy Salmon Ball Sushi*
Tamago Sushi
Green Tea Croissant (which was on 20% off since it was around 8pm past when we ordered)
My rating for this dinner:
Food 5/5
Ambiance 5/5
Service 4.5/5 - apart from kindly accomodating our requests, waiting time was a bit slow (maybe around 15-20 minutes)

Jipan may sound like an odd name at first, but this does not mean we should judge it by it's name. Jipan's branch at Estancia Mall is not only a restaurant, but it also included a small "self-service" Japanese bakery that offer a wide range of Japanese inspired baked goods such as bread, pastries, and cakes.
I heard that Jipan had huge servings in such reasonable prices, so my sister and I decided to try the place out. Here were the dishes that we ordered during our visit:
➿ Seafood Okonomiyaki ➿(249 php)
[Japanese pancake with squid, shredded cabbage, bacon and okonomiyaki sauce]
-
The serving is definitely a lot for what you pay for. For only 249 php, it is quite reasonable. Taste wise, it was okay. I like how there were good amounts of squid and bacon and that the bacon gave it a good savory flavor. My only concern would be the texture and the amount of sauce. The okonomiyaki itself was a bit dense and was short on sauce. Since the okonomiyaki was really thick, the consistency of batter and sauce was not even. Despite these flaws, I really enjoyed the bonito flakes and pickled radish (I think) on top.
➿Tofu Steak Set Meal ➿(259 php)
[served with rice, yasai itame, miso soup and salad]
- Such a satisfying meal for only 259 php! Their dish of 3 thick slices of deep fried soft tofu soaked in their special sauce, and served with yasai itame was a light and flavorful meal. The miso soup was good and I enjoyed the batter bits that gave it a good crunch in every sip. The salad and rice was good too. My only concern would be the yasai itame that came along with the dish. It was over cooked, bland and unnecessary for me since there was already a salad that came with the meal.
➿ Ebi Fry Set Meal ➿(342 php)
[served with rice, yasai itame, miso soup and salad]
- 4 pieces of finely breaded and perfectly deep-fried tiger prawns. The garlic sauce that came with it was a nice compliment. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that still may need some tweaks with the side dishes, especially the yasai itame.
➿ Sweet Potato Bread ➿
- Dense and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The sweet potato flavor really stands out!
➿ Hokkaido Bread ➿
- Not the best tasting bread however, texture was nice.
My overall experience in Jipan was great. I enjoyed the quantity and most importantly the quality of the food. Definitely coming back to try other of their delicious and inexpensive dishes!
Good value and taste. Serving portions fair propotion to size. Didn't know they served good food. I thought they only had cakes breads and patries. Tempura sushi was huge and tasty, P450 good to share 3 to 4pax. Katsudon was good and good serving. Beef curry rice a bit chewy. Spaghetti bolognese was also good. Strawberry shortcake was ok.
I used to think they just sold bread and pastries, but their meals are great too! Comfort Japanese food but with a creative twist.
We got the sushi pizza (rice as "dough" and topped with avocado and salmon, yum), shogoyaki (soft thinly sliced pork in flavorful sauce with hearty miso soup), an okonomiyaki (was surprised that the flavors in their take of this seafood pancake weren't overwhelming, so good), and for dessert, banana fosters (thickly cubed french toast with banana caramel sauce and ice cream, it was so good and i'm still thinking about it as i write this)
The service was fast and pleasant. It was full on a Sunday so we had outdoor seating, which was a little noisy because of the weekend mall goers and their doggos.
I imagine this would be great for meetings on weekdays when the mall would be quieter:D

Orders were received quickly! Their authentic Japanese cuisine is definitely worth it. Always got my left over Katsu Don for take out because it was too much for me to finish!
The food quality and quantity was worth the price
Loved the ramen! Friendly people and good food never fails. I'll be back for.sure. Chuukara ramen is a new favorite and their bowl is WYSIWYG not like the big bowls from other ramen houses that look big outside but the bottom is 2 inches thick.

Me and my family dined here last Saturday as I am craving for noodles, but later end up with their creamy carbonara. The food is really great especially the carbonara and the miso noodle (which I have tried in their other branch in Robinson Magnolia).
The staffs, as I have said , assists us so well and they do serves the food real fast. Very polite and prompt.
The price is also great, it's not that pricey, especially their noodles.
Appreciated it that the order taker offered to split the ramen in 2 bowls since I wouldn't be able to finish 1 order anyway. Food served fast, friendly people, good food-- this is the type of restaurant one would like to go back to. The okonomiyaki from this place is a winner for me.
Not really a fan of maki or sushi so when I went out with friends who decided to eat in a Japanese cuisine, I was glad they serve pastas like this. It's a typical white sauce I've tasted from everywhere. Nothin really special. The California maki, on the other hand, were enjoyed by my 2 friends I was with and they even made a second order for themselves. Wish that the staff were not forgetting that we ordered and at least give us updates but we had to call their attention up cos the food was served in almost 30mins.
Note: This is gonna be a short review.
Jipan's Matcha Milk Spread is a jar full of love ❤️. The Matcha Gods encased all the matcha goodness inside a jar!
Surprised by the big servings. The gyudon was good and worth its price. Also tried their breads: the croissants were a bit on the dry side, but I especially liked the hokkaido bread and kouign amann. Servers were also helpful and friendly.
Got our coffee fix this afternoon at Jipan. Coffee was good and big. I tried their apple turnover and it was delicious. My mom tried their coffee bun and it was okay. Servers were friendly and helpful despite many customers. Ill come visit again to try their meals.

Finally got to try their meals. The kani salad is yummy!😘 We also got the ebi tempura udon, beef curry rice and gyudon. Big servings and the taste was okay. 😍
Over the top sushi creations, traditonal dishes that satisfy and Japanese baked goods all in one tidy little package. Surprisingly extensive menu, attentive staff and moderate pricing. There's something for everyone here to order, flavors are balance and portions are more than adequate. Convenient and competent dining establishment.
Monroe bread FTW! From childhood to adulthood fave.. love everything they offer! Their croissants and other bread are so good..worth the price! Go to Jipan regularly..so glad they re-launched the brand.. for a time i thought they were gonna close! Whew!!
Jipan has two branches. The first one opened in Glorietta near food choices and the other one (where I went) was in Estancia Mall.
If you're craving for japanese food and would like to get the quanity plus quality, i bet Jipan would be the right place to dine.
Jipan offers different types of food. From bread to maki, sushi, rice meals, desserts etc.
On Sundays you'll find this resto full house and with reserved tables.
Best to visit during weekdays but if you want to eat with your fam and friends, best idea is to reserve.
What would recommend is foe you to try their pastries. Aside from that their servings are actually good for sharing. Like the size of their maki rolls are quite big.
This is the safest japanese resto to dine where you can get coffee and japanese food in one!
The dynamite roll is my go-to meal whenever I visit Jipan. Every bite is like a mixture of different flavors and textures, from the tempura wrapped in the nori, to the crunchiness of the outer layer with the tempura batter topped on the rice. I recommend this for sharing cause it may be too heavy for one person
Who knew Jipan actually had food and not just bread and pastries. Hahahaha!
I've always loved Jipan for their bread and Japanese cheesecake. I went here when they first opened in Estancia. I didn't find their food to be anything great. It was good but nothing I'd actually recommend for someone to go out of their way for.
Ate here again last night since my dad went here with his friends and found a few dishes he really liked.
We reserved a table for 7pm. When we arrived at 6:40, someone was occupying our table, but okay... we were early.
We gave our orders and the server repeated it back to us correctly. Then when our food arrived, one item was wrong. They offered right away to have it replaced, which was good thing. Then the server who took our order came back to us and actually questioned us that she repeated the order and we said it was correct. We said that she said the right dish... but then somehow when it was served it wasn't the right dish. She then showed us her notepad and insisted that we confirmed what she had served. Oddly, there were 2 of us who heard her repeat our order correctly but her notepad had something else written on it.
Anyway, they had it replaced to the correct item we ordered. On the down side, it took them forever to serve the correct item and it was only a sandwich. By the time it arrived, we were practically done eating!
I've tried their Sushi Pizza in the past. It was good at first but if you eat it on its own... you'll get sick of how it tastes. Their makis are the same thing. Huge pieces, mostly cause of the rice, but after 2 or 3 of them, the Dynamite Roll wasn't so appealing anymore. The Dynamite Roll could use less rice. In general, their sushi pizzas and makis are okay (not bad) and good enough when really craving Japanese food.
I did like their Curry Udon. I've had better.... but I enjoyed their dish too! The Agedashi Tofu is really good also! Especially when it's still hot.
Of course, their bread and cheesecakes are still very good. I can't wait to try their Strawberry Shortcake!
I find their ramen very affordable compared to other Ramen restaurants. But of course, you should not compare the quality to those restaurants. Try their seafood ramen if you don't want a strong flavor. Chasu ramen is good. Their california maki can be improved. Have tried their latest which is the crispy salmon maki, it's a bit spicy and oily so I must warn you. Service is good. You can request for their house tea. Overall, you can be full and have a nice Japanese food for lunch or dinner without spending too much. You can try out their breads but I would suggest to stay away from those colorful breads..
Jipan was not new to us! My hubby always orders the beef teriyaki at the branch in Megamall.
Their branch in Estancia is about the same size but better. They present the breads in a nicer, more enticing display.
Service was great, very attentive and friendly!
We ordered my usual Beef Teriyaki. Which my little one loved ... And devoured! I love that they have it in the set with soup, salad, and rice! I wish they had an option to upgrade it to fried rice though.
The Ebi Tempura has real prawns (and not halved) with just the right amount of batter.
Gyoza was juicy and tasty.
I was intrigued by their Salmon Pizza so we ordered. It actually tastes good as it looks! There was a moundful of topping! Different textures at every bite! But don't be fooled, this mountain is not all salmon! Actually it seems like 20% salmon only! If they had more salmon, I would have rated them a 5!
Larcy's was closed on Black Saturday, so we went to Jipan which was next door. I remember going to this restaurant in the early 2000's in their Glorietta branch. I'm glad to see that their food quality hasn't gone down since that time. We had the spicy salmon roll and shared a bowl of miso ramen. For dessert, I had the Banana Foster Jipan Perdu, which was interesting. Don't expect too much of the miso ramen. It is much cheaper though than the top options that resulted from the ramen craze.
One thing you should try when you come to Jipan is their dynamite roll. Although it appears to be looking like a bakery outside, the menu on their dining area is something to look forward to. Don't forget to bring some pastries and breads home when you have the chance, it is totally different from breadtalk and tous les jours.
