The place is an absolute blast for a matcha lover. They have yummy cakes and great drinks. Try choco hojicha latte. Wish they didn’t close their branch in MoA.
I first heard this cafe in KMJS and out of curiousity I googled it and found out that it's just near my work. I'm a matcha lover also so tried it with my friend. One of their specialty is the matcha ramen, the one that I really want to try so we ordered it with a matcha latte. Tbh, I am really disappointed with the ramen coz I'm a ramen foodtripper. I thought its a ramen with a thick matcha broth, but found out that the noodles is the matcha flavored one. Its like a matcha soba, but not a matcha ramen. But the taste is ok though. Their matcha latte is cute and delicious too. We ordered also their matcha leche flan and we also liked it. Will come back for their latte and desserts. The price is not so expensive though. Just reasonable for the taste and the servings.
As a avid fan of all things matcha, I was so excited when I learned that we're gonna go to Kissako for dessert! First coz it's in my bucketlist to go there!!! Second because I wanna try their Matcha (AUTHENTIC FTW!!! 😭) Parfait (which is their bestseller).
Their homemade matcha ice cream did not disappoint. 💚 Mochi balls were just as I expected it to be, soft and chewy! Overall, my MATCHA HEART is happy! 😁
Lovely little nook that serves everything matcha, even ramen! Only ever tried some of their drinks and desserts, which I all loved. Place is a tad small so it can get easily crowded, especially with people ordering from the counter. Wish they’d open a branch in northern QC or Makati.
Matcha cravings satisfied! Had the parfait and matcha cheesecake. Guess i’m living my matcha dreams haha. Staffs were assistive and approachable. Two thumbs up! Will definitely go back here!
Bar none the best matcha cafe I’ve ever been to. Matcha can’t get any better than this, only downside was the selection of their savories. It’s quite a few, but if you’re looking for the quintessential matcha experience, this is the place to be.
MATCHA MATCHA MATCHA OVERLOAD!!!Taste: We tried the
- Matcha parfait ( Which disappointed us quiet a bit since we thought the white stuff was also ice cream but it was actually just whipped cream. The matcha ice cream on top though was great) We should have just gotten the soft serve.
- Matcha latte
- Match cakes ( really really fan-matcha-tastic )
Presentation: Cute as you can see it (the parfait) fooled me and my friend. But still cakes were good though.
Ambience: It's a cute place
Service: It was okay
Worth it dish: The Cakes
Most people around me would know that I am such a dessert person and a huge matcha fan and so I was ecstatic to discover this hidden gem in kapitolyo area, kissako matcha cafe!
I ordered the matcha pudding parfait and my first bite says it all. Indeed another match made in heaven for me. It was perfect! Everything on this dish is fantastic and certainly I will order this again when I am back. I highly recommend you guys to try this :)
The cafe made for matcha lovers, definitely!💚
Finally made it to Kissako Uji Matcha cafe with two fellow foodies for a nightcap... We got there at 1030pm and the first words to us were: we will be closing by 11pm... Way to make a guest feel welcome...
Anyway, I ordered their matcha chia seed pudding after much deliberation. My friends got the matcha parfait and matcha parfait pudding. See the pattern?😅
I love my order!!! Chia pudding is something I really enjoy and theirs had a seamless texture. Other then the chia seed pudding, they included a The guy warned us that they use matcha ice cream (not soft serve), but I had no issue with it. I liked the different textures that made each bite interesting... My friends likewise raved about their orders; bestseller being the matcha parfait... Everything was a hit though...😊 A solid 4 stars for the food!👍🏻
I just wish their staff was a little more friendly, though I understand that it was getting late. He just kept pouting at the customers who were still there during closing time. He cleared the table as soon as we were finished and turned off the lights at one part of the store. He finally announced that they were closed at 1120pm. Kinda rude...
#whatthedokieordered
Store was small, simple and clean. This was by far the best matcha ice cream i've had in Manila. As for the matcha pudding, i still preferred kumori's
Really the best Matcha in the Philippines! Their Matcha latte is love 💚. I also highly recommend trying their Matcha parfait and Matcha Ramen. Super must try for people who love Matcha! The place is cozy and has a relaxing vibe. The staff is nice and has good service. Love this place so much!
It was a weekday night and my husband said, "Let's go to Kissako, they're having an anniversary promo!" Not to let the opportunity pass, we got ourselves a small table and ordered Matcha Ramen and two kinds of parfaits.
First, the Matcha Ramen. You know how in all of them ramen places here in Manila, they're all so full of flavor that sometimes it gets overpowering? Well Kissako's Matcha Ramen is none of that. It packs just the right flavor with its clear broth, green noodles, and soft-cut meat. It's really one of the better-tasting ramen bowls because of that. Perfect pick me up for a rainy day!
For dessert, we ordered one matcha parfait then another hojicha parfait. I only got to eat the hojicha one, and it was okay. The glass was too small for the contents, so you're getting your fill of ingredients. It was good, BUT you can get better parfait types of dessert elsewhere.
Don't give up on them yet though! Kissako specializes in matcha desserts and beverages, so there's more to explore in this quaint café. 😊
Whenever I want a real good quality matcha, I go here at Kissako! Match frappe is not one of those sugary sweet overload! It does taste matcha, smells matcha, feels very matcha! Just the right blend!
Desserts are heaven! Match cheesecake is not overwhelmingly cheesecake and not overwhelmingly matcha as well! Just the right sweetness and cheese and leafy fresh flavor! The texture is not one of those too soft, soggy, jelly-ish cheesecake! Just right for your taste buds to remember that it is good quality cheesecake! And oh how can I forget the top green garnishing, it's just too playful and teasing and satisfying on my taste buds!
Will try matcha ramen and parfait next time! Tried matcha ice cream and my taste buds did somewhat spell authentic that one scoop is not enough! Craving again and again. Authentic matcha indeed!
I wanted to give a 5 rating but the space is quite bothersome. One table was located in the center, which can be bothersome when someone enters and leaves the café. I hope they can expand their place, as more people tend to like matcha these days. Anyway, this is really heaven for matcha lovers, like me. Me and my friend was really planning to go here and finally we did. We ordered the Matcha Cheesecake and Fromage and Matcha Latte. I usually get hot matcha latte and it was cutely made. The taste was perfect. The bitterness and boldness of matcha was there but not too empowering. The fromage was heavenly. It melts in your mouth. The cheesecake was good but not that special. I will definitely come back to taste the other things they offer.
One word: matcharaaap. Tried their matcha pudding parfait, and it had the right blend of bitterness and sweetness, which will keep you asking for more. Too bad the crepe cake was out of stock.

+4.5
Cafe is just a little small wish they could expand! service is great, matcha latte's is bomb and cute. and it tastes great! Their matcha is different from other grade of matcha i've tasted before. Their Ramen affordable, savory, delicious. The meat melts in your mouth and you'd slurp it all day to the last drop.
I have been eyeing this place for two months and only followed through earlier today. I was able to share the experience with my cousins (who were first timers here, too). They got the Iced Matcha Oreo (the Oreo got overpowered by the Matcha) and I got Iced Choco-hojicha (dark chocolate + green tea). My drink was just so and so; embarrassingly, I mixed it up thinking it was the Horiguchi drink.
For pastries, we got Matcha Pudding, Matcha Shortcake, Matcha Fromage and Matcha Ice Cream. They had Matcha crepe which is a new pastry but we had no more space for it. The pudding didn't taste anything like Matcha and was very sweet; one of my cousins got reminded how it was similar to eating Nido milk powder. Next, the shortcake tasted like Matcha and the texture of the bread part was good and grainy; but I think it was not to our expectations as soon as we tasted the fromage. The fromage was the best one among the bunch (the cheesecake was out of stock); the Matcha blended well with our taste buds. I wanted to know how well it compares with their cheesecake (on the next time we get back here with that Horiguchi drink). For dessert (hehe), the ice cream was matched with Matcha jelly. This was a good choice as it distinctively left us convinced to go back to this place; the taste is the opposite of the pudding -- definitely Matcha.(It got a 4.0 because we haven't tasted the rest of the menu and because of the pudding.)
A month or two ago, me and a friend went to Kissako to kill our curiosity about why when you say Matcha it comes first to one's mind. The place was full that time because seats are only limited so we had to go back since there is no spot to wait for (it was a hot afternoon that time and the sun was facing Kissako)
So after roaming around the area, we went back and luckily, two seats are vacated! So we started our Matcha galore with their Matcha Parfait, Shortcake and Crepe layered cake and I wasnt dismayed. For our drinks, we had their matcha latte and their ice blended. Everything matched my craving. The matcha was not to sweet (which should be the case btw) but not that bitter for a tea. Overall, I can still recommend this to my friends but make sure to drop by on off peak hours to avoid long lines.
Last May 10, 2017 I got the chance to visit the pioneer Matcha Café here in Manila. Why did I say so? ingredients being used in all of their food products, especially matcha are authentic. Why? According to the owner, they are importing their matcha all the way from Uji City Kyoto, Japan. And also, cakes and other dishes are being made by a Japanese chef that happened to be a friend of the owner. This is to guarantee authenticity and originality. Isn't it AMAAAZING?!
During my visit, I tried five of their best selling products. First, Hot Matcha Latté. It is accented with panda face art, this latté is bitter in taste with a hint of sweetness and creaminess because of the fresh cream froth.
Second, Matcha Parfait. Consists of Home-made matcha ice cream, Shiritama (sticky rice balls), Japanese yam, Matcha jellies, Diced matcha sponge cakes, Fresh cream, Cornflakes, and Coco jellies. It is rich, sweet, and creamy.
Third, Matcha Pudding. Small-sized matcha pudding topped with fresh whipped cream and 8 yam on the side. Among all the best sellers that they served me, I must say that this one has the strongest taste in terms of bitterness.
Fourth, Matcha Ramen. This is really a must-try, definitely a new experience for me.
Lastly, Matcha Milkshake. This is the best tasting Matcha Milkshake I've tasted. Thumbs up!
Overall, my Kissako Uji Matcha Café experience was full of burp and positive bitterness. I do really encourage matcha addicts to visit them the soonest. And also, to non-matcha lovers peeps, the time has come to challenge your taste buds.
My go-to place to get my matcha fix! The place doesn't look eye-catching, anyone who has no idea about it, would probably just pass it by. Well, thank heavens for technology and zomato!
We've tried the matcha ramen before and it tasted good. Although I would've wanted the taste of matcha to be stronger. Their best-selling matcha parfait, on the other hand is fantastic! It's a mixture of wonderful textures and flavors. I always make sure to order it with every visit.
Definitely my favorite matcha cafe in Pasig! 👍🏻
Friday nights are meant for munching and discovering new food. I am not so fond of eating the same food twice as there are just so many restaurants to visit and so many dishes to try. Just thinking about it makes me so giddy.
Last Friday, I made an 8 p.m. reservation for three at Locavore thinking that my sister’s last class ends late. But we all got together at 6:30. So to kill time, I asked them if we could visit the new Japanese tea and coffee shop I spotted a few weeks ago.
Hello, Kissako!
The place is quite small and could only accommodate perhaps 5-6 groups at a time. Choices are also limited making it easier for me choose. I went with Strawberry Shortcake (PHP170), Chocolate Mousse (PHP170) and Horiguchi Coffee (PHP130) in medium roast.
Ordered matcha fromage and iced matcha latte. It was really worth it. Fast service too, cos I was the only customer at the time I visited. Love it! Will come back very soon~
I work in Taguig, so whenever work brings me near Kissako, I make sure to drop by.
We recently had a training near Pioneer Center and some of my colleagues went with me for our matcha fix. We got the matcha cheesecake, fromage, and shortcake. We also bought some hot matcha lattes.
Among the 3 cakes we bought, the shortcake seemed to be our group's favorite. It was sweet, but no too much that you wouldn't be able to taste the matcha. The matcha cheesecake was just the way I like it --not too sweet and the matcha and cheesecake were still recognizable.
Hopefully they improve the speed of their service. It took them some time to give us our cakes for take out. I guess they were still busy preparing the lattes.
Best matcha drink in town. One time, i also got to ask where they source their strawberry shortcake and apparently it's from another favorite of mine - Bebe Rouge. Takeout tip: try also their matcha latte pack with 5 sachets at 200 pesos per pack. This is a cheaper alternative for a post lunchbreak caffeine fix.
One of those cafés that have legitimate matcha supply. Well they should because it's a matcha overload in this side of Pasig. Almost everything on the menu has matcha, e.g. Parfait, latte, cheesecake, ramen (YES MATCHA RAMEN) etc etc. Service is good and the place is not crowded.
Kissako is the perfect place for matcha addicts like me. Their Matcha Parfait will bring you to matcha heaven at such an affordable price. Ugh, I'm craving while typing this review!
Their highlight is Matcha. This place is situated in Pioneer Kapitolyo beside the famous coffee giant, Starbucks(which is one of our go-to coffee place).Been eyeing this place but the drive to try it wasn't strong as I can't decide wether I'm a Matcha lover or not.😛 Plus, the place closes at 11pm and we usually arrive past 11 so on we go to Starbucks as usual.
Still full from a buffet breakfast @Ace, we finally paid this place a visit for desset. It was past 11am on a Sunday morning. 1server manning the stall. Family of 3 came in before us. We decided to try their Matcha Parfait(195php) and ice blended Choco Hojicha(185php for large).
Server was quite well versed with the products but kinda inexperienced as he lacks confidence and warmth(sorry had to compare it with Starbucks). Orders took nearly 30minutes as the only server manning the stall has to prepare orders of 5 people
around this time. We already finish the parfait when my Hojicha was served. Situation was understandable but I hope the management can do better with their manpower.
Matcha Parfait was very pretty which technically has 7 layers on it. This is my boyfriend's order, nakikain lang ako.😂Coco jelly, corn flakes, ice blended cream, matcha jelly, matcha cubes(bread?), matcha ice cream, topped with kaong and rice pudding. It's uniquely delicious. I especially love the rice pudding. The combination was great. It should have been better if they serve it on a chilled glass as the ice cream and ice blended cream wasn't enough to keep it cool for long.
Choco-Hojicha was good. Bitter and refreshing. Dark choco and tea blended on ice topped with whip.
Place was small but sunny. Still can't decide if I'm a matcha lover. But this place is definitely a Matcha haven.
We dropped by last week to check out their place and try out their matcha. The place is quite full so we had to wait for a bit.
This is definitely a matcha haven for people who loves matcha. Too bad the cheesecake's not available that time so we tried the parfait, shortcake, and the crepe layered cake. All of them were good. The matcha blended iced drink was also good as well. We'll be back to try out their cheesecake.
This was a matcha haven for me. It was around when matcha wasn't that popular and only a few people come to this cafe. They have good quality matcha and tea and all of their desserts are good. However, the matcha latte taste like the one from starbucks, only a little bit more bitter. Still a good place though.
A small space in Pioneer Center which, as their name implies, specializes in matcha. My friend and I both had their hot matcha latte. We were pleased that we can still taste the matcha, unlike in other cafes offering the same which had too much milk or too much sweetener. Too match our drinks we had the chocolate mousse and the matcha fromage. (The matcha cheesecake was better) The cakes were good but somehow lacks some oomph.
I always order Matcha Parfait here. It's really good, I think only Kissako Uji has Matcha Parfait. The staff also remember me because I'm a regular customer. This place is also good for those who want to read or study, they have sockets if you need to charge your phone/laptop. I brought some of my friends here and they loved it.
We ordered Matcha ramen, matcha cheesecake and ice blended matcha. I loved their blend of matcha drink, it wasn't that sweet which I like! Their cheesecake was good as well. The ramen is good too and very affordable. Maybe they need to work on the broth though, the one I had was a little oily. Hope they can expand their Pioneer center branch.
I will go back here to try their pastries and other drinks! We went in Kapitolyo to eat when my squad decided to go back in Forum. So we walk instead of renting a taxi. While walking, we decided to chill in Starbucks but to our surprise, this cafè is beside Starbucks and Kissako is on my bookmark. We only ordered drinks because we're full.
Opening 2017 by scratching one item from my Matcha Bucket List. Plus, proving that spot.ph's review is not just hype.
I will be brief and just declare it as the best (up to date) Matcha Latte I had sans the adorable Latte Art. It wasn't grainy, nor does it have a powdery feel. It was so comforting to drink and I finished mine in what? less than 30 minutes. Their iced latte was bland though probably because of the generous helping of ice. Nevertheless, the consistency in their drinks is superb.
Would love to try their Matcha Udon next time. Bottomline, it has proven it's worth to be one of the top Matcha spots as mentioned in the review. The experience was just so good and fits well with the price.
Kissako, (I'm guessing) is a short cut for the term for cafe which is Kissaten. Ko usually is used for female names or referring to a child or maybe something small. Ergo, a small cafe. It turns out that Kissako is a small cafe by Pioneer Center which delightfully serves Matcha desserts and beverages. The place offers really good Matcha, and the service is just ok. Of course just like in most cafes, it's pretty much self service, so I couldn't say much about it. While the offerings seem commendable, I find it limited, and the place too dim (felt a little bit depressing). Price per head can range from 250 - 500.
Tried their Matcha latte, iced matcha latte ham, matcha ramen and cheese croissant and St. Marc cake. All were super good especially the Hot Matcha Latte!
First, we tried their Matcha Parfait (Php195), which is one of their best-selling treats. It had crushed ice, cornflakes, gelatine, and topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream. Overall, we loved how it tasted because it wasn't too sweet unlike Filipino halo-halo. It was also very easy to eat, given that it's served in a tall glass.
We had a slice of Matcha Cheesecake (Php170), which was honestly one of the best cakes we've ever tried! At first bite, you notice how easily this cake melts in your mouth and surrounds it with the distinct but not too overpowering taste of matcha.
Finally, we had a cup of Matcha Latte (Php150). Unlike the one you can find in the more mainstream coffee shops, their version of the matcha latte is made from the real stuff. They use real matcha powder which comes straight from Japan and they also have it for sale in their shop. The drink was very creamy and the flavor of matcha was not too overpowering, which is perfect when you just want to sit back and relax.
Love the oreo matcha. Not too sweet. Just right.Medium is actually big. Brewed Coffee is also great! Place is quite also. So if you want coffee or tea and quite to read books or do homeworks, this is it. Staff were also nice.
I wanted to try their ramen with green tea noodles, but since the place was packed, I opted to have ramen from another place. I did go for their matcha parfait, which had a variety of sweets like mochi balls, matcha gelatin & cake, and my favorite, creamy matcha ice cream! The cornflakes added a nice crunch to the ensemble. Wish everything else was also cold, not just the ice cream.
Great little spot on Pioneer Street, in Kapitolyo that is serving something other than coffee. They have matcha everything from lattes to ice creams and even a matcha ramen! I came here with a group of friends on Saturday afternoon and tried their Premium Matcha Parfait.
It had mochiko balls, matcha jelly, matcha cake, matcha ice cream, cereals, and cream. I don't know Matcha well enough to comment on how authentic their "Matcha" is but the ice cream on the parfait was so pretty darn good and tasted legit to me. It had just enough matcha flavour to keep me coming back for more
It may be a little overrated to some, knowing a lot of people have joined the Matcha craze but in my opinion, their food is definitely worth a try. Can't wait to go back and try the Matcha ramen!!
We tried this matcha place across unilab. This cafe houses the spotph #1 matcha latte -and it didnt fail me. It was indeed a delight to drink this matcha latte. It was not too sweet, a little bitter, smooth and creamy. Perfect to pair with their cakes and pastries for matcha overload
Continue..
The next day, we tried their matcha ramen and matcha ice cream -one of the best ramens i tasted in a very long time. The noodles were greentea infused, home made and firm (just the way i like it). And the broth was tasty but not salty. The meat was tender, melts in the mouth.
Matcha ice cream was also home made. It was excellent -bitter, strong matcha taste, not too creamy and not too sweet.
Located exactly inside the Pioneer Centre and there are lots of parking spaces outside! The ambiance of the place is very nice and calming. Newbie? Try their matcha shortcake and go for the hot matcha latte! Will definitely try their matcha cheesecake.
Once you've found a seat in this small-scale cafe, you can enjoy complimentary wi-fi (ask the counter) and their popular Hot Matcha Latte! The Latte art is adorable; and its foam frothy and bitter, which is perfect for the sweet and creamy mix beneath. Excellent place to bring your friends and spend your afternoons. 10/10 will come back!
Great customer service! Their crews were very attentive and apologetic if the order came in late. It's acceptable, it's their 2nd Anniversary, and customers keep coming and coming. I only ordered Iced Mocha. Because they have so many pending order, the coffee was late. They offered free Matcha Ramen. First time to try this and I could say it's amazing! Sweet baby Jesus! :)
Top it with these greenish noodles with a satisfying bitter comfort, added a few sliced of pork and egg; wala! Perfect!
Can’t wait to try their deserts! Green tea lovers, don’t missed this cafe!
We tried the matcha fromage, matcha cheesecake, vanilla crepe cake, chocolate mousse, matcha Oreo, and iced matcha latte. Loved how you could really taste the matcha goodness and they weren't too sweet. Seriously a matcha lover's heaven! Kinda wished they had a bigger place, though. But I will definitely be coming back for more!
When in Kapitolyo, Kissako is always, always, always an excitingly sweet choice for dessert! 😋❤
They serve authentic Japanese desserts (plus their signature Matcha Ramen) that always satisfy.
My faves are:
● Matcha ice cream
● Matcha parfait
● Matcha cheesecake
Kissako is my Matcha dessert heaven! 😋😋😋
Tried their matcha parfait and it's good! Will definitely try other matcha products here. :) and it is in kapitolyo.. is there a branch nearer in east side of the metro?
If you're a matcha lover , this is the right place for you! :) From cakes to ramen it's Matcha. I'm a fan of the Matcha Ramen(thin noodles), very smooth and filling.
Fast wifi! Love the music 😊😊😊
Love their macha parfait! 💓💓💓
Super duper duper duper likey their iced chocolate ☕☕☕
Will always go back
I've been meaning to try Kissako Uji Matcha Café for the longest time. After my first GTL experience at Equatorial, matcha held my tastebuds hostage. I have a matcha-induced Stockholm Syndrome.
Note: Expect a rigmarole of praises, The Halo Effect, folks. (read David McRaney's You Are Not So Smart if you have free time)
I made sure that we swing by Kissako, i need my matcha fix. Lemme get this out of the way - Kissako is freaking Narnia for matcha lovers!
I got the matcha parfait (php 195). Gah! Look at that glass, visually appealing, the prettiest glass I've seen in a while. It would be an understatement if i say that i am in love with the parfait. The matcha ice cream is creamy and oozing with chlorophyll flavor. The cereal adds the crunchy aspect and compliments the other matcha elements of the parfait.
Kissako is friggin Narnia for matcha lovers! Paulit-ulit para intense.
The food here is matcha-themed which made me love everything before I even went here.
I had their plain, Ice-blended Matcha and Matcha Ramen. Their ramen is only 150 pesos and tastes relatively authentic. The food was good and worth the price.
However, the service here is a bit slow, but the internet here is reliable and is definitely a good and pleasant place to study. I would definitely come back here to try their cakes and other drinks.
I went here with my friends to try their matcha dessert.
I like that they have a lot of matcha in their menu. If you are like me, who loves matcha, this is the place for you.
We enjoyed our experience here.
The food - it was soooo good. 😋
Will definitely go back here. 👍
Guess how matcha love you? This matcha!💚 I love Matcha so I had to visit this cafe to try just about everything they have on the menu. On our first visit, we tried the parfait and cheesecake. I didn't like the latter much because the cake was more spongy than cheesy and creamy. It crumbles and I couldn't taste the matcha in it. The parfait was a different story! IT WAS TOO GOOD!!! All the ingredients blended well together! I'm definitely coming back for more of it very soon!🍧
I just wish they have a bigger space to accommodate more customers. Parking in Pioneer Center could be difficult, too.
Are you a Green Tea Matcha fan? Do you enjoy the grassy bitter taste of Matcha? Then this place is a MUST VISIT for you! My dear matcha loving friends, Kissako Uji Matcha Cafe is a Matcha wonderland. They offer matcha-everything - parfait, cake, cheesecake, ice cream, soft serve ice cream, latte and even Matcha Ramen! Crazy, right?!?
Yum place! I love that they have a decent hojicha latte. Fragrant and rich. So perfect! Had the matcha pudding which has a more subtle matcha taste but it works perfectly with my bold drink. Had the matcha shortcake which I find just okay. I wish they would make their matcha tea latte stronger. Wasn't able to try the frozen matcha cake bec it is taking such a long time to defrost. Come in early on weekends or just on weekday because they do ran out of pastries.
I admit I wasn't a big fan of matcha before Kissako -- I know that matcha is an acquired taste so I wasn't surprised that it took me long before really appreciating how good it is. In fact I once had a somewhat "traumatic" matcha experience before LOL!
But Kissako had made me into a convert. This is actually my second or third time to be here. This is real, honest-to-God matcha goodness. The delightfully grassy flavor of the matcha is strong but not too overpowering, and at the same time comforting. I have tried a few but here's their stuff that I have tried so far:
- Matcha Parfait, probably their best-selling item. I always see this as a healthier version of halo-halo: matcha ice cream, matcha jelly, rice cake, red bean paste, cornflakes, etc.
- Matcha Ramen - there are thin and thicker noodles, and I ordered the thicker one. It's sooo good!
- Choco Hojicha Latte - the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted. I haven't tried their cakes yet, but when I do I'll have this drink as a perfect partner.
- Hojicha Parfait - It's like the Matcha Parait but with a deep hint of the burnt hojicha tea. I thought it looked like a chocolate ice cream!
- Matcha Fromage - I'm not a fan of cheesecakes but the kick of matcha makes it a wonderful dessert
- Strawberry Shortcake - One of the best strawberry shortcakes I've tried! Too bad it is quite expensive and the slice is just small.
- Matcha Pudding Parfait - I think I like this better than the Matcha Parfait! The pudding is smooth, silky and gelatinous, a perfect partner for the ice cream. You get the matcha flavor
- Matcha Pudding - I love the combination of the gelatinous pudding, the sweet and starchy red bean paste and the bland whipped cream!
- Matcha Latte - I think the proportion of the milk and the matcha is right, with the matcha flavor being so pleasingly pronounced! A bit creamy and having the deep grassy hints of matcha! No wonder Spot.ph has consistently put Kissako's matcha latte on top of the matcha latte list in Manila.
- Matcha Cheesecake - Best Japanese cheesecake I've tried... it's made more distinct with the matcha in it!
Free Wi-Fi too (one unique password per device).
Simply one of my favorite places here in Metro Manila. :)
Was here 2 days ago with my daughter. It's really more of an after dinner place -- dessert cafe. So if you are really hungry best to satisfy your craving for real food in the nearby establishments. The only filling food they have is the matcha ramen.
The coffee i had was full and bold flavor just the way I like it. Green tea matcha parfait was deliciously complimenting the cup of coffee I ordered.
Will i visit again? Maybe if I have my matcha craving again 😊
Small place. Good service. More of matcha. First time to see matcha ramen though I haven't try it. My kid loved their cakes thou. And I enjoy my Ice blended. Worth one more visit. :)
It was a rainy Friday night when I went here and the place is crowded. Luckily the staff found a way and insisted to provide me a table inside. They are very accommodating, polite and kind. They know how to satisfy the needs of their customers and that kind of attitude is a huge thing to keep their customers on coming back.
Every time that I will eat somewhere I always try to conduct a quick research about the restaurant and check the reviews to see the must tries and what kind of experience the people are getting. So I already knew that this place is a matcha heaven which is a dream come true for the matcha lovers like me!
Before I came here I already planned what I will be getting so here's what I got: Iced matcha latte, Matcha Cheesecake and my new found love, Matcha Fromage. I was so excited to try it and I was not disappointed at all. Authentic matcha taste and I so love it! My eyes was rolling and I just can't control the smile on my face in every bite of my cheesecake and fromage and sip of my iced latte. I was just so happy that this place came into my life! They have a whole lot more of matcha goodness to offer and I will definitely come back because I still have a long list of what to try out next.
Overall I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely see you again!
I love that there's a store that specializes in the goodness of Matcha! I love the Matcha latte, Matcha parfait and Matcha fromage we ordered. It wasn't too sweet and the flavor of matcha is really infused in these sweet treats.
Definitely a must-try for matcha lovers!
The perfect place for matcha lovers like me!!! 💚 Their best seller, the Matcha Parfait, is unlike anything I've tried. It's so good that I wanna try making it at home and adding crushed ice, sugar and milk.. HAHAHA (halo-halo lang?!?!!) I just wish they expand because their store is so tinyyyy! Since it's almost always packed, don't expect to get to stay there in peace or for long. The location is accessible though! It's in the same building as Lee Hak Korean Restaurant and right beside Takashi.
We ordered their Iced Matcha Latte, Iced Chocolate, and Matcha Shortcake. I liked that the matcha taste was very evident in everything we ordered (except for the Iced Chocolate, of course) and was not too sweet. The Matcha Shortcake contains red bean paste, though, which I'm not very fond of.
Well they do live up to their name as they are indeed do specialize with anything with Matcha. But store interior needs improvement and bigger space.
cos i love matcha because it's matcharap, and the place is just across the office, my fellow intern, pauline and i tried kissako uji matcha cafe.
i ordered their matcha fromage and their iced choco-hojicha (dark choco w/ green tea) while pauline ordered their iced matcha latte and matcha cheesecake.
The matcha fromage is really good, cheesecake below and matcha on top. My drink (choco hojicha) was more on the green tea side than chocolate, but it's also good (if you put some syrup in it lol)
Their matcha latte is a bit bland, (Starbucks' green tea latte is still better imho) which you wouldn't expect considering they are a matcha place. And the cheesecake is just not good at all.
Kissako is cafe specialized in Uji Matcha. It is located inside Pioneer center beside some of the popular concept restaurants in Kapitolyo.
We went there for after dinner drinks and got their bestsellers. Uji Matcha Fromage & Matcha Latte. The Matcha fromage is a combination of cheesecake and matcha mousse dusted with matcha cake dust. The combination of nutty, bitter matcha to the cheesy, smooth, creamy cheesecake were superb. It balances and compliments each other.
The matcha latte on the other hand wasn't that strong for a matcha latte. A little stronger matcha would do to add a little kick. And I also like how they do latte art for each drink.
Kissako maybe out of sight for some, but its worth searching for.

At this point, I am missing all the matcha treats I had in Japan. Yes, the posts shall continue and my longing will linger. Good thing there are places here in Manila that offer authentic matcha treats. And one such place lies in the food haven called Kapitolyo. The place was very minimalist and clean. I guess it has something to do with the dominant white flooring and other white details. Other colors such as black, green and brown stand out from that canvas. They have a couple of seats outside and inside as well.
The place is known for their matcha selections and their teas. They serve really good hojicha tea!!! So roasted and smells divine! Their matcha parfait is light and refreshingly yummy.
Definitely my go-to place for anything Matcha! They have the most legit Matcha desserts I've tasted. And it's not the sweetened type of Matcha. It's Matcha in its most raw and authentic taste.
Tried this for the first time. I was excited to try their Iced Matcha. I was expecting it to taste sweet but it was not that sweet enough. It has a strong taste. It tastes more of a seaweed rather than matcha. It do tastes good actually. Maybe, that's the real taste of a matcha latte. Since I was not satisfied with my drink, I ordered another one which is the Iced Blended Choco Hojicha. It actually tastes like dark chocolate with a taste of matcha. Haha. Everything, I think, tastes matcha here. Lol
The only thing that I do not like on this place is that they do not have any cr inside. You still have to go to the cr beside Pioneer Center which is just 1 min walk. Plus, since they are located below the Anytime Fitness Gym, you can hear the weights being thrown on the floor by those who are on the gym.
But the good thing is, they have free wifi which you can use for two hours and there are almost plugs everywhere.
I love this green tea matcha latte from Kissako. ☕️ I also bought their matcha, banana, and mango cookies for my family, and they loved it!
Finally found a Matcha heaven for a Matcha lover like me! Bonus: it's just a few blocks away from my workplace!
I had Iced Matcha Latte and Iced Chocolate for my not-so Matcha lover boyfriend. Also got to try their Matcha shortcake which tasted so heavenly! Nanunuot ang Matcha flavor!
This small cafe in Pioneer Center caught my heart ever since my first visit. Next goal: to try everything on the menu!

Kissako is all about matcha. Almost everything in the menu is matcha! And being a matcha lover, I consider this as heaven. I personally like the matcha shortcake and hot matcha latte. You can ask the staff to create a latte art for you, maybe an animal of your choice? Haha my friends asked if the barista can put dog and panda to their drinks. And yes, wish granted!
Matcha is their main deal. Matcha is considered as the healthiest form of green tea with its amazing cancer and fat burning powers.
So I asked the wait staff like I always do. Whats your best seller? In less than a second mentions their Matcha drinks. I love the refreshing bitter sweet Matcha Iced Latte. Gone in 60 seconds.
I normally don't consume a whole slice of cake. I did with their Matcha cake. It's matcha all over it. Its matca made in heaven. Not surprised why this establishment has a following.

Tried it for the first time. I like matcha, so i tried it eventhough i haven't heard nor reas the reviews yet.
Location: it's easy to find. You'll definitely see it when you enter PC compound. The exterior of the place doesn't look inviting, but instill tried it anyway. 3/5
Price: the price is okay for the quality. The cakes are cheap as well as the food. 4/5
Quality of food: it was okay. Not something that would make me WOW OR YUM! I just think they lack assortment on the food. It's all matcha cakes (except for strawberry shortcake that time), and that's it. They have pasta, but i find it weird that they serve italian food in a Japanese cafe. :) 2/5
Ambience: Good place to work, though wifi is a bit slow. Limited seats (3 small tables And one long table for meetings). With extensions for laptops and water dispenser as well. 4/5
Overall rating- 3.5
Delicious matcha drinks. Order anything. They only use authentic and high-quality matcha and coffee too. Prices are reasonable and on par with coffee shops.
I would definitely return and try other drinks and especially their matcha desserts.
The place is conveniently beside a great Japanese restaurant as well, after a hearty meal, get you matcha fix here.
I was no Matcha fan. I found it weird tasting like barley (which brought back bad memories). However, my roommate loved it on top of anything else. Curiosity convinced me to tag along (not to mention it's her treat) who was ecstatic a legit matcha café existed.
We ordered the parfait, Matcha cheesecake and Matcha shortcake. I loved the matcha ice cream on the parfait, however, not the whole thing. The cheesecake was perf for me. Well, it's cheesecake and the matcha flavor was a bit subtle. On the other hand, the shortcake was Matcha all the way which by the way my friend preferred.
Food were matcharap, yes. But I couldn't gauge how good they were because 1, I just started to appreciate Matcha. 2, I've never been to Matcha Cafés before (besides eating matcha kitkat and ice cream on buffets).
Café's interior and overall design though wasn't remarkable. A need of renovation or a bit of retouch would do. Maybe some sakura or pandas with bamboo then?

It took me a couple of tries to begin this review. I'm a matcha lover and my sentiments for this café is quite unstable. My bias towards matcha makes me want to tell you that their desserts are fantastic. It won't send you to heaven and back but the matcha experience is worth your dime, and by the way, the prices are not that expensive for a legit matcha place.
Service is alright. Their barista is so talented with latte art, you wouldn't want to touch your drink for fear of ruining it. I am pleased to inform you that the latte art can withstand a couple of sips before getting absolutely ruined. And again, their beverages and desserts are well-executed both visually and in flavor.
The only flaw I've found in this café is their interiors. The decor seems uninspired, probably even confused; the lighting is unimpressive; and the seating feels odd -- not a spot to burry your butt and savour your matcha experience.
To summarize, if you've never had matcha, Kissako is an excellent place to be introduced to it. If you love matcha, this would be your candy store. But if you're looking for a cozy spot to hang out, grab a matcha whatever and move to the Starbucks right beside it. Just kidding ('bout the Starbucks thing).
The place itself is just small and the ambiance is different among other cafes. They do not have cozy chairs and no fancy decoration. It is just a
simple cafe but their matcha is to die for.
I wasn't much of a green tea fan before. Then I went to Japan. Even if I didn't like matcha or green tea, I still made it a point to try all the green tea and matcha flavored things. I came back a convert!
I was so happy when Kissako opened! I tried them out when they were new but it was only until today that I got to go back. This time, I got their hot Matcha Latte. The latte art is extremely adorable. It was also absolutely delicious! It made me dream of all the matcha milks and matcha lattes I enjoyed in Japan.
My sister had the Iced Green Tea. It was pretty good too. The texture was smooth and almost creamy even if there was no milk in it.
The cafe is a little small but it looks less cramped now than when they first opened. Service is pretty good too.

Matcha is ❤
Yes it is, indeed! When I learned about this place on Instagram, I was absolutely delighted. For a matcha lover like me, this place is heaven.
With the reasonable prices of each item on the menu, this surely is a must-try. If you are a matcha lover, the matcha latte or the iced matcha is recommended. It's super good! Also, that latte art on my matcha latte made me smile. It's super cute and instagrammable!
They offer different cakes as well. Two of their best sellers are the Matcha Shortcake and the Matcha Cheesecake. Though what I tried was the Matcha Fromage, I found that it's very creamy and never short of the matcha flavor.
The iced Horiguchi coffee doesn't disappoint either. In fact, it's my kind of black coffee. A little syrup will do, plus if you prefer it with milk, they'll provide you some too.
The place is pretty small but it is well-ventilated, the people are very approachable and the wifi is strong as well. Also, it has the coziness that I want in a café.
I think I finally found my next go-to place for my cravings.
Photogenic desserts. I'd say a little bit on the pricey side but they're pretty much worth it. We had their matcha and strawberry parfaits. The former was a yummy, eye-pleasing strata of textures and flavors while the latter, although it had real strawberries in it, tasted like a glorified, ice cream parlorized McDonald's strawberry sundae.
They've run out of matcha ice cream when we went so they replaced it with their matcha soft-serve froyo. No biggie.
Having Japanese diners in there with you was kinda neat too. Expats patronizing their own~
The place is relatively small and was packed when we arrived. We had to hang at the counter to basically avoid having to wait out in the heat.
If I'm in the area again I'd love to come back and try their matcha drinks.
Its location at Pioneer Center is only apt because this cafe is a pioneer at matcha perfection. The matcha parfait is just pure happiness with layers of green tea ice cream, gelatin, cornflakes, among others. The green tea shortcake is never short on its matcha flavor too. And the chocolate mousse is divinely smooth.
Went to this place all the way from our place in Bulacan just to fix my matcha cravings. And it didn't disappoint me! Kissako Uji Matcha Cafe may have a small store set up but the ambiance is good. Air-conditioned with free WiFi for customers.
I tried their Matcha Shortcake and Hot Matcha Latte. For the Matcha Shortcake, it was perfect for me since its not too sweet and you can taste the authentic taste of the matcha. Though the taste of the Red Bean Paste was overpowered by the Matcha, it's still deliciously fluffy. The Hot Matcha Latte in a big glass mug (with a panda latte art) was a heaven's gift (too exaggerated right?).
I will surely pay a visit to this place more often, especially for a matcha addict like me. This is a place you should visit for matcha lovers out there :)
Excellent cafe for all things matcha! The matcha ice cream is delicious. And it's served with green tea jelly. Refreshing!
Also tried the matcha fromage which has a fantastic cream cheese layer.
My first time to try horiguchi coffee. This is a coffee supplier that picks the best green coffee beans from all parts of the world. Their quality control ensures that all the coffee is freshly ground. I must say the taste I got from the cup here was fresh and clean and sort of a combination of sweet and bitter.
Must also commend Kissako for providing a good wifi service - shows their attitude towards outstanding customer experience.

The cafe is owned by a friendly Japanese national and his Filipina wife whom we both met during our first visit (gone here twice and counting!). They source the matcha straight from Uji, a city in Kyoto.
I've had matcha desserts from all over the world but Kissako's selection has got to be the best so far. (Disclaimer: I hardly ate desserts when I was in Japan 'cause I was already full after each main meal.)

MATCHA SHORTCAKE
Everything, as in every corner & layer, was good in this shortcake. The icing was creamy and a bit grainy, leaving matcha lovers very satisfied with the texture. The soft & fluffy green tea cake was also complimented by red bean paste found between each layer.
MATCHA PARFAIT
I will never, ever get over this parfait. Its eight layers of matcha ice cream, matcha jelly, matcha sponge cake, dango balls made from shiratama rice cake, anko (red bean paste), whipped cream, cornflakes & nata de coco are truly pieces of heaven in every spoonful. I hope Kissako Cafe won't tire of producing this excellently & without compromise.

The haven for all matcha green tea lovers. I could go back here every single week to get my matcha fix. Anyway, Kissako really hits that matcha flavor that we green tea lovers are looking for. We ended up ordering the matcha ice cream and matcha green tea ice blended. Their ice cream is splended as they say it is homemade not to mention they also had green tea jelly on the side. Talk about matcha flavors bursting with every scoop. Their ice blended also had the right flavors and the best part is that it isn't that sweet compared to other establishments serving ice blended matcha. This is definitely a must go to place for matcha green tea fans out there. Highly recommended not only by me but by many.
First time to visit Kissako Uji Matcha and the green tea matcha was great! highly recommended to those who are Matcha lovers out there! :) great way to bond with friends eating cute stuffs! 😁👍🏻
Definitely a must try Cafe for matcha lovers. I tried their Green Tea matcha parfait with soft serve ice cream (195.00), Green Tea matcha ice blended (180.00) , matcha short cake (120.00) and matcha cookie (40.00). The parfait needs a bigger bowl since it was hard to get the corn flake cereals (which I really love) unless you eat all the ice cream first ... I think they need to rearrange it in a way you could get all the goodies without eating all the ice cream but it's still soo good a must try really (or again a bigger bowl to have room for more ice cream!) The cake is moist and have the perfect mix of sweetness without overpowering the matcha flavor... I really like my drink as well always a fan of a good matcha frap and so far I like this one better than SB maybe because I like the taste of their whipped cream better.. If only this cafe is closer to my work place I could get my matcha fix everyday! :)

I love the matcha parfait except that it's quite expensive. You can make your own matcha parfait at vikings and eat a lot lot more. But i would definitely go back for that matcha!!
