I was looking for a place to celebrate my parents anniversary and found about sobremesa being listed as one of the best restaurants to try in ortigas. The place is easy to find specially if you are familiar with the area, all the food which I preordered came out very well presented and were super yummy. The portions are also big enough for 2 to 3 people. Must try are the corn fritters, peruvian spiced chicken and barako coffee crusted ribeye. Very accommodating and attentive staff. Thank you so much Concon and Edmund for a wonderful anniversary dinner as well as to the admin of their ig and fb accounts. Looking forward to visiting the branch in feliz once open!

Good feast with our loved ones is all we want for Christmas. Great food, complete family attendance, and salu salo as we all wait for Christmas. As we share intimate moments with our family this Christmas, let's pair it up with Sobremesa's Christmas Packs and bring home Sobremesa's concept of sharing conversations to our homes!

For this Holiday season, Sobremesa prepared 13 Latin American dishes for us to enjoy! Here are the menu:

Honey Pineapple Glazed Crispy Pata - Php 820
Roasted Chicken with Chorizo and Bread stuffing - Php 850
Beef Brisket Caldereta with Quezo De Bola - Php 590
Chicken and Potato Salad - Php 450
Calamari Salad with Mango Lime and Jalapeño Dressing - Php 500
Shrimp and Mango Salad - Php 550
Lengua Estofado - Php 575
Milkfish with Soy and Citrus Sauce - Php 500
Lomo Saltado - Php 550
Chorizo qnd Green Pea Rice - Php 350
Smoked Fish and Salted Egg Rice - Php 350
One whole cheesecake (Blueberry, Strawberry, Banana Caramel) - Php 1650

Among all the 13 dishes, here I am listing down my personal favorites!
1. Lomo Saltado - This is a dish that is best paired with rice! Strips of pork cooked in soy sauce, bell peppers, baby potatoes. The combination of sweet and salty taste will make you call for another extra cup of rice!
2. Honey Pineapple Glazed Crispy Pata - This not your ordinary Christmas Ham! It's a hybrid of Crispy Pata and Ham!
3. Lengua Estofado - soft, tender, ox tongue which was cooked to perfection. Each serving of the lengua is thick and it blends really well with the sauce

Sobremesa's Christmas Packs are available starting November 25, 2017. For orders, contact sobremesa or mesage their social media accounts!

Christmas is just around the corner and are we really ready to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year? Christmas season is probably one of those occasions that bring so much stress. Imagine buying and choosing countless gifts and then wrapping it all up, putting the decors all over the place making sure we’re in character with the season, and even preparing the food to serve for Noche Buena. But despite what has just been said, this is also the time where most of us, if not all, choose to make these sacrifices because it’s simply ‘CHRISTMAS.’ No more, no less.

This is one of the newly opened restaurants near my workplace that serve unlimited rib eye steak (promo) the steak is, it is what we asked, cool interiors, but the staffs are nowhere to be found, I believe they lack of staff when we visited because the staff are going back and forth into the kitchen, also their cashier failed us to give receipts because the machine is broken.

Unlimited Ribeye (US Angus) for PhP 750 per person! Winner of a deal. Good seasoning. 200g per serving (0.45 lb), which can be at least 2 servings per order. With a free side (choices of rice, garlic rice, mashed potatoes, sweet potato chips, or potato salad). 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Only sabit was the overcook during my first order. Acceptable still. And it was a bit salty the 2nd order. I could only finish 3 cuts. 😆

Dessert was a winner too! Salted Caramel & Banana Cheesecake PHP 230 for that solid chunk o dessert. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was excited to try this restaurant because of great reviews ;unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It was alright, don't get me wrong, but not W😍W .For hubby's birthday lunch we had Roasted Chicken and Potato Salad- the actual dish looked so different from their presentation on the menu. Lamb Chops- seasoned well, but unevenly cooked. Perfect on some ends, a bit overdone on others. Blue Marlin Steak- again well- seasoned but dry. Could've used a minute or two less on the pan. And finally, Mango Coconut Almond Cheesecake for dessert . This was actually my favorite dish. I'd come here again just for this😊

Sobremesa: the time after lunch or dinner spent talking to the people you shared the meal with

Welcome to Sobremesa, a fusion-cuisine concept restaurant located at Sapphire Bloc, Ortigas district.

Sobremesa offers a gastronomic fusion of South American and Filipino inspired dishes created by Head Chef, Chef Benjo Tuason. In Spanish, sobremesa refers to the time spent talking to the people you shared the meal with, and here at Sobremesa, the goal is to enjoy delicious conversations with its wide range of offerings.

Great food. Best that we had is the Lomo Saltado, i think. The peruvian roasted chicken has yummy dips to die for. When i asked for their specialty, the waitress said it's the bulalo estofado. I didn't like it though. It's a little bit sweet for my liking but the beef is so tender, which is good. The mashed potato in the grilled liempo is recommended also and the salsa. It was also very easy to book a table which i did thru Zomato. Fast and good service. Friendly staff. In general, they have good variety of food.

Peruvian Roasted Chicken
Spit-roasted chicken popularized by Peruvian restos. It is marinated in olive oil, lime juice, garlic and spices. Then, the chicken is roasted in the oven until it is juicy, tender and crisp-skinned. Dips included are Jalapeno, sour cream, and Chumichurri to compelement the taste of the chicken. The skin of the chicken is absolutely tasty with all the herbs and spices it was marinated with.
Queso Fundido

A great appetizer. The Queso Fundido is a dish of melted Colby Jack cheese and Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, and spicy chorizo with tomato, onion, chile, tequila, and spices. It is usually presented bubbling hot and served with soft fried pita or tortillas.
Australian Rib Eye Steak ( unlimited steak)

The rib-eye has the boldest flavor among the high-end steaks. It is both tender and flavorful. One of the tastiest steaks and considered the king of many steakhouses. Grassfed, Australian, and super beefy!
Cuban Pork Chop

Moist and flavorful pork. It is said that Cuban pork come from pigs fed on Palmiche which is the fruit of the palm tree. Served with mashed potato and caramelized onions. Grilled to perfection.

Cured Meat Selection
Cured Meat Selection includes Vela de Lomo and sweet sausages Filipinos love: Chorizo Pamplona, Salchicon, and Chorizo de Bilbao
Shrimp Cerviche Salad

An appetizer composed of shrimp marinated in citrus with crisp fresh lettuce, oranges, bell peppers, ginger, chimichuri, bell pepper, and tomatoes. The amazing mixture of taste and colors makes you want for more.
Bulalo Estofado

A family recipe from Chef Benjo's mother. Beef that's extra tender and sauce that's sweet and salty with a hint of citrus. With kamote and legumes.
Lecheroon
Leche flan and Macaroon. Sweetness that's not overwhelming. The coconut makes it distinct with its grainy texture plus the unmistakable custard taste of leche flan
Mango Cheesecake

Genius! Go crazy with mangoes, coconut and caramel sauce on top of cheesecake. Highly recommended.

Very good taste of food. Food is pricey but worth it. I rated 4.5 because of the rude server that was assigned to us. My friend asked for San mig light, but they were not able to provide because the supplier did not deliver beer to them, we asked them if we can have san mig light kahit 4 lang but her response was so rude. Overall, food is tasty but the server needs to be nicer.

Sobremesa has been one of the most talked about restaurants when it opened. And how can it not make it to the social media world when it tries to address the society’s extreme addiction to gadgets. I’m sure that you remember this restaurant that had the witty idea of putting adorable small bird cages on every dining table where diners are encouraged to put their phones in. Yes, the idea behind it is to have a gadget-free meal and for people to actually talk to each other, in person. And to whoever cannot resist to check his or her phone, that person has to pay the bill of the whole group. Though I’m not exactly sure if diners actually locked their phones in, especially now with the need to document everything, it was and still is a great idea. I’ve been meaning to visit that restaurant for months now but traffic always gets in the way and I couldn’t drag anyone to go with me. But it was a different story a couple months back.

Conveniently located in the Sapphire condo in Ortigas. We stopped in for lunch and had the rib eye steak. I ordered mine medium rare and they cooked it accordingly with the perfect red to pink center. Oh and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

It's not my first time to dine at Sobremesa; I love to hang here with my friends because of the unlimited cocktails which start at 8pm. Still, I was invited to blog about some of their new dishes, as well as the all-time best sellers.

Sobremesa by Chef Benjo Tuason, offers a gastronomic fusion of South American and Filipino-inspired dishes lovingly and meticulously created by him. Celebrity siblings Daniel and Vanessa Matsunaga try their hand in the food industry, joining the group of owners of this fresh venture.

SOBREMESA in Portuguese means meal-ender or desserts. While in Spanish, it means the time spent talking after eating w your family/friends. Whatever translation you want, SOBREMESA is a good place to enjoy food with the company of your family/friends. Sobremesa is a mix of Filipino x South American cuisine. Most of the dishes are inspired by Chef Ben Tuason's family recipes.

Together w mah homies, we were able to sample some of the dishes they're offering (which are mostly their bestsellers). It's my first time here so I was excited and looking forward to the dishes that we'll be trying.

Trivia: SOBREMESA is now offering group meals or group bundles starting from 1600php to 2800php which is good for 4 pax and 8 pax, respectively. Also, the best part they also have an on going UNLI STEAK promo for just 750php. Not bad, right? ;)

My top 3 favorite dishes are the following:

*SHRIMP CEVICHE SALAD

Fresh shrimps, sweet mangoes, and crisp fresh lettuce. Salad was good and refreshing! I loved the citrusy dressing.

*QUESO FUNDIDO

This is not your usual nachos! Not the heavily topped w meat and all the toppings you want type but despite being "plain", this is one of the really good and sulit nachos for me. Instead of the usual chips, they used pita bread (shawarma bread) and deep fried it. It's crispy and kind of chewy at the same time. Can be eaten as is or you can dip it! And THE DIP!! Omg, it was so good! Super cheesy and addicting!! PS: the chips eventually will taste like the donuts we usually buy in local bakeries or panaderias (Deep fried donuts coated with sugar). And I'm saying this because we actually all liked it! Haha! ;) :P

*BULALO ESTOFADO

You don't need to be a mathematics genius to know that when you combine two good things, the outcome will be AWESOME. That's how I would describe this dish. Separately, they're good, very flavorful and tasty.. But together, they make a good combination. #RelationshipGoals The stew was mildly sweet, kind of citrusy, and very tasty and flavorful. And the bulalo beef meat was oh so tender. :)

-----

Other dishes we were able to try:

*PERUVIAN ROASTED CHICKEN

The chicken was okay. Good but not WOW SO GOOD. Chicken was cooked well, it was tender. Even without any sauce, it was tasty. Didn't tried it w any sauce but according to my friend, the sauces paired well w the chicken. They have 3 types - Jalapeño and Coriander, Chimichuri, and Garlic Yoghurt Sauce. I enjoyed eating the fried sweet potatoes, though! :P

*GRILLED CUBAN PORKCHOP

*AUSTRALIAN RIB-EYE STEAK (UNLI STEAK PROMO!!)

*Selection of CURED MEAT + CHORIZO CROQUETTA

These were all just okay. Some of us enjoyed them but since I am not a fan of dishes with even the slightest hint of cumin (or w similar spices), I wasn't able to fully enjoy the steak and the porkchop. Steak was tender, though. Porkchop was kinda overcooked. Again, I enjoyed the fried sweet potatoes and oh, the mashed potato + caramelized onions too.

Also, since I enjoyed and loved Rico Rico's croquetas and tapas (chorizo), I had a hard time not comparing them w each other. Sobremesa's chorizo and croquetas were both just okay. Not something I'll get again.

For our meal-ender, desserts -- CHEESECAKE and LECHEROON.

Cheesecake was good, it was thick and creamy. Kind of sweet because of the caramel sauce but not the OA type. The Lecheroon is a combination of macaroon and leche flan. Didn't tried it anymore as the texture and consistency is kind of weird (for me).

Overall, it was still a good and happy lunch w mah homies. The place is kind of small and "sad" but the meals were all big (generous serving sizes) and happy. Plus service was great!! Though not everything was SUPER GOOD (for me), I still can't wait to go back for the queso fundido and salad.:)

If the rule above was implemented that day, I would surely have paid for everything. Haha. I was doing some research that time but I would surely have taken this challenge if I knew it sooner. I like this rule of theirs. With their “no phone challenge”, diners would get a free dessert if this is completed. Delicious conversations in exchange for that, well, sign me up for that please! 🙂

The Menu Group, the brains behind some of the country’s best restaurants, has been making a lot of noise in the food business. The group has opened four restaurants in just less than two years, and I was very fortunate to have been invited to try one of their treasures, Sobremesa. Sobremesa, under the watchful eyes of head chef and part-owner Chef Benjo Tuason, offers a fusion of the South American and Filipino cuisine. This February 2017, the restaurant has launched a number of new dishes to expand its menu and cater to the cravings of more customers.

Sobremesa is one of those words that has different meanings - a depending on the language used. l'd stick with the Spanish definition as it translates to After Dinner Activities as it relates to stuff foodies do during an event.

| Mingle
| Q & A
| Feedback
| Take Photos again

From a foodie perspective, Sobremesa is the activities done before, during and after the meal.

FoodSocietyPh got another invite from the generous x awesome people of The Menu Group. Sponsored feast at Sobremesa baby!

This is my first time at Sapphire Bloc. I saw a couple of familiar restaurants and took mental note of the ones that piqued my interest.

A table is set outside for all of the dishes that will be served. The spread was beautiful, colorful crockery, appetizing food and natural light!

Oh, the food is carefully crafted by Chef Benjo Tuason. They offer Filipono x South American fare.

The event highlighted new dishes in their roster and an exciting promo that will make carnivores giddy.

Starters.

Shrimp Ceviche Salad. This colorful bowl is comprised of raw shrimps, lettuce, corn, tomatoes. Me and my homies loved it. I aint sure what kind of vinaigrette they used - but who cares...all that matters is that it is absolutely delish.

Queso Fundido. Cheese x deep fried pita bread. Cheese lovers unite! This dish is sinfully good. Picture this - crispy deep fried pita bread dipped in warm gooey cheese. I rest my case.

Selection of Cured Meats. This is also good. When i feel a lil European, i eat chorizo with a glass of red. Wine lovers would appreciate this.

Mains.

Peruvian Roasted Chicken. My all time favorite protein cooked in jalapeno and coriander served with garlic yogurt and chimichuri. This is one of the best roasted chicken I've had in a while. The spices used to season the meat did a mighty fine job in highlighting the chicken. The meat is cooked perfectly, juicy and oozing with flavor. Word of the wise - dip 'em in the chimichuri for an excellent flavor contrast.

Cuban Pork Chop. This was just okay for me. The pork is a lil bit overcooked and not as tender for my liking. The mashed potato is awesome! They know how to make a killer mash. Put that on the record.

Australian Ribeye Steak. Unlimited rib eye sounds awesome, yes? This is the carnivore treat i was talking about. A beautiful slab of meat cooked in salt and pepper served with veggies on the side.

Bulalo Estofado. This dish gets top honors. The broth is to die for - perfect combination of sweet and salty. I taste a lil citrus and ginger. The meat is really tender! It melts in your mouth.

Sweets

Lecheroon
Mango Cheesecake

I aint a sweet tooth but i really like the mango cheesecake. The natural sweetness of the mango goes well with the richness of the cheesecake.

If a macaroon and lecheflan made sweet sweet love, their love child is Lecheroon. Oddly enough, i like the texture of the dedicated coconut incorporate in the flan. A contrast between rough x smooth.

A Sobremesa kind of Lunch is wonderful.

Peace Out!

Sobremesa by Chef Benjo Tuason is a spanish term for the moment you shared with people after lunch or dinner which involves talking or conversation. The restaurant is a fusion of South American and Filipino cuisine.

It was difficult to escape the Baclaran traffic so our group came in a little late even though we alloted one hour travel time to get to the place. People were already taking pictures of the food but good thing we were just in time for the food tasting!

During the event we were able to try a couple of dishes from their starters, salads, mains and desserts.

Of all the dishes that were served, I enjoyed Queso Fundido and Bulalo Estofado the most!

Queso Fundido is like their version of nachos with cheese but instead of nachos they used fried fita. The fita being fried had a nostalgic taste of local donuts being sold every 3pm in my neighborhood in Laguna. I'm still figuring out if it was due to the oil or the flour. The cheese was a solid dip. The bulalo estofado's sauce had a sweet and salty taste with a citrus kick that I really liked. The beef was tenderly good too.

Get the mango coconut and almond cheesecake if you have a sweet tooth like me. The texture and the tangy taste was on point. There was also enough mangoes on top to fully enjoy the dessert.

The lecheron is obviously a cross breed between a leche flan and local macaroon. The dessert makes sense and it would have been a favorite too if it was not flabby.

Overall, it was a good experience.

We were greeted by Chef Benjo when we arrived at Sobremesa restaurant late lunch. Sobremesa means "dessert" in Portuguese and/or "spent talking after meal" in Spanish. Sobremesa by Chef Benjo Tuason offers South American and Pinoy Food Fusion. The restaurant is situated in Sapphire Bloc, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. And it's under the management of The Menu Group.

I can see the whole restaurant thru its glass wall. Although it's not big but they manage to arrange the restaurant looks good and cozy which can accommodate at least 105 pax inside and outside.

THE FOOD

🍨 Selection of Cured Meats for Php495.00 (Chorizo Pamplona, Salchicon, Vela de Lomo, Chorizo de Bilbao) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"I like the Chorizo Pamplona and Chorizo de Bilboa. It taste good, best paired with wine."

🍨 Shrimp Ceviche Salad for Php250.00 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"The salad with raw shrimps cooked in vinegar and citrus as a dressing is a good starter before digging the mains."

🍨 Queso Fundido for Php320.00 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
"Warning: Addictive! And watch out "nakakabusog" LOL 😂 The crispy pita served with hot melted cheese dip was perfectly seasoned. Ang sarap-sarap." 🧀

🍨 Australian Rib Eye Steak (Php750.00 - Unlimited/ Php600.00 - Ala carte) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"The steak can be cooked in 3 flavors - coffee-crusted, herbed or salt and pepper rub. The one served was herbed rib eye steak and I find the steak meat was tender and it taste good and flavorful but it can be more even better if an additional sauce will be an option."

🍨 Peruvian Roasted Chicken (Php380.00 - Half/ Php700.00 - Whole) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"The chicken was marinated well. I can taste the flavor thru the roasted skin and chicken meat and served with chimichurri sauce and pesto sauce."

🍨 Cuban Pork Chop for Php420.00 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
"Served with garlic mashed potato and caramelized onions. The grilled pork chop was served juicy and felicitous but I find it oily. A lesser oil will be more eatable and appetizing."

🍨 Bulalo Estofado for Php490.00 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
"The exploding flavors of the soup will want you to add more rice in your meal. And the beef meat was cooked tender."

🍨 Mango Cheesecake for Php230.00 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
"Wow! This dessert was a truly a sweet ending. Nakakabitin! Ang sarap!" 😋

🍨 Lecheroon for Php200.00 - ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
"A fusion of Leche Flan and Macaroon. They need to work out with the texture of this dessert. Though it taste macaroon."

By the way, Sobremesa has existing promo. They have unlimited steak for Php750.00 only.

Visited the place on a Sunday night and got the place ours since there are no diners when we came in. The server greeted us and gave us the menu. We ordered Shrimp and Mango Salad and Grilled Lamb Steaks with Chimichurri. They were all for sharinf (2-3) persons so the pricing is really a good deal.

First off, Shrimp and Mango Salad is nothing but love. When it was served on our table, we got overwhelmed by the serving. We're only 2 and it seems impossible to finish since we also ordered main dish. 😂 Anyway, we so love this salad. The shrimp is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The mango tastes so fresh as well as the veggies. The real hero was the dressing. It tastes really good! Felt really healthy after bites of this salad.

The Grilled Lamb Steaks with Chimichurri is so fancy and overwhelming. The seving is very very generous. ❤ The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. It's also juicy and seasoned well. It was actually my first time to try Chimichurri and it's really good with grilled meat. The dish is also served with baby potatoes that helps overcome the lamb's after taste. Nice fancy dish!

Overall, the place is really commendable. Also, I got more to try so I'll definitely go back. And by the way, we did not finished our food as expected. 😂 So we took it out and housemates really love it.

Definite must-try when in Ortigas! This South American - Filipino fusion restaurant has a wide variety of offerings on the menu, and each dish is delicious and hearty! My favorites to start the meal is the Crispy and Spicy squid, and Shrimp and Mango salad -- it's such a refreshing take on salad and they do not scrimp on the shrimp! New to the menu but a best seller is the Milkfish in soy and citrus sauce, which is tastier and more tender than you would ever expect. Other best sellers on the menu are Bulalo estofado and Peruvian chicken, plus the Mango Almond and Banana Caramel cheesecakes. Lunch sets are offered here too! Can't get enough of Sobremesa.

I recently had the pleasure trying out Sobremesa and sampling their new dishes. Sobremesa's food was honestly new to my palate as their offered flavorful dishes are a fusion of Latin American and Filipino influences which was created by Chef Benjo Tuason, the same man behind Relik and URBN in Bonifacio Global City. The highlights of my visit were the following:

1) SHRIMP POPPERS - The shrimp's crispy texture paired with the savory dressing made up for a good appetizer.
2) DEEP-FRIED PORK BELLY - It looked plain and simple but it surprised me as the seasoning was very good in the delicious, crunchy pork belly.

3) GRILLED LAMB STEAK - It is what I think is my favorite dish out of all that I've tried. The seasoning on the lamb was perfect and the meat was really juicy. It was a bit difficult to eat it due to its bony structure, but it didn't stop me from eating it.

4) CARNE Y GAMBAS - I found this just as good. The Sirloin steak was roasted very well. Additionally, it tasted really good even without the help of any sauce.5) SALTED CARAMEL AND BANANA CHEESECAKE - The cheesecake was sweet and decadent. The banana on top complemented it, while the drizzled thick salted caramel sauce helped balance the sweetness.

Sobremesa is a gem tucked inside the part of Ortigas CBD previously inhabited mostly by high rise office and residential buildings. Being so close to my office, I really see myself going back to this place often for its great food.

My first trip to Sobremesa consisted of two dishes, Tanigue Ceviche and a half order of Peruvian Spiced Roast Chicken.

At first I had second thoughts in ordering the ceviche because the "ceviches" I tried before tasted like glorified kilawins. They tasted great but I always felt that they simply used the term C=ceviche instead of kilawin to justify a price premium on their dish. This ceviche though is different. rather than tasting very vinegary, Sobremesa's ceviche was mildly spicy, with sourness that is well balanced and a hint of sweetness brought about by oranges. The tanigue was fairly soft as well which makes this dish very appetizing.

The Peruvian Spiced Roast Chicken, I would say, is probably the best tasting roasted chicken I have ever tried so far. The meat very tender and moist while the skin, crispy. Usually for roast chickens that I have eaten  previously, the skin loses its crispness a few minutes after it is served, mostly once it has absorbed some of the chicken's juices. To be honest I was very surprised of the skin's texture. If there was something that didnt suit my palette for this dish, it would have to be the garlic yogurt sauce. I found it to be a hint too sweet (unexpectedly) for my palette. It was ok though as I actually enjoyed the chicken as is.

If there is something that Sobremesa needs to organize, it would have to be their drink choices. Not having a wide selection of alcoholic beverages as they are not a gastropub, I felt the absence of SMB pale pilsen to be a letdown. Sobremesa offers a good selection of cocktails, a decent variety of hard drinks but only two brands of beer (both local), SMB Light and Brew Kettle. I am not really a fan of either beers and to be honest I would have wanted to enjoy the chicken with probably a cold bottle of pale.

Peruvian chicken with three dips, it's a bit expensive and you need the dip like chimichurri or mayonnaise with jalapeños to bring out the flavors, grilled blue marlin fish fillet was good. The chorizo and peas rice was tasty. The seafood tomato soup serving was small for its price. We were hungry so all the food taste good but serving size for its price should be more.

I went here yesterday-- out of curiousity coz Ive seen it on TV. The place was nice. Good ambiance. Seats are very comfortable. It was also easy to find coming from QC that time. The servers were friendly. Ofcourse as a first time visitor, I've ordered the best seller and they mentioned bulalo estofado. The beef is so tender. You can taste the different flavors. I didnt see the bulalo flavor though, but it tastes a bit like a korean beef stew coz of its sweetness. Overall, it was a good dish. You have to order rice separately, and they serve a generous portion. Then there's the 3-pcs pork belly in a bed of mash potato with tomatoes/onions i think. I needed to ask for salt and pepper! You may try but I'm not recommending it. The dessert is a winner -- salted caramel cheesecake with sweetened bananas is their best seller. It was heaven! Thats one thing i will definitely order again!

Sobremesa definitely deserves 5 stars! I went here last January with my friends and I was very much impressed by their service - staff is courteous and service is prompt. And, not only do they have the best Bulalo Estofado but their salads and desserts are equally to die for as well (try their Salted Caramel and Banana Cheesecake, you won't regret it!). What's also nice about Sobremesa is that the place is perfect for when you just want to relax and unwind after work, and maybe have a drink or two with your friends. At any rate, looking forward to try their new dishes soon. Keep it up, guys!

I had late lunch at Sobremesa a few weeks ago with my friends.

For appetizers, we had Shrimp Ceviche and Sweet Corn Fritters. The Sweet Corn Fritters is served with a spicy marinara sauce that gives a balance of sweetness and spiciness as you bite a piece. I was impressed that the serving for Shrimp Ceviche is quite generous, I love the added veggies on it too. However, a bit more acid will make the dish better.

We also had Calamari Salad, with a delicious mango and lime vinaigrette served with it.

For mains, we ordered the Peruvian Spiced Roasted Chicken and Grilled Pork Belly, with Green Pea and Chorizo Fried Rice.

The dish I liked the most was the Peruvian Spiced Roasted Chicken, served with three sauces: jalapeno and coriander, red pepper sauce and garlic yogurt sauce. Though the chicken itself it already flavorful, I still loved pairing it with the garlic yogurt sauce. Another must-try dish is the Grilled Pork Belly, spiced marinated and served with garlic mashed potato and pineapple salsa. I wasn't too impressed with the fried rice because I think it needed one more ingredient, probably bell pepper or corn will make it better.

Currently on its soft opening, Sobremesa serves decent dishes. I was particularly impressed with the main dishes but other dishes can still be improved. The service was a bit too slow during our visit so I hope the next time I visit, it would be a lot better. I can't wait to try the cheesecake next.

We liked this new restaurant in Sapphire Bloc - the new gimmick place in Ortigas -featuring Moonshine & Cable Car bars.

We ordered Kesong Puti & Sweet Corn Fritters, Bulalo Estofado and Peruvian Roasted Chicken (half). Absolutely loved the taste of the bulalo - somewhat sweeter than normal bulalo - but the tenderness of the beef and the great taste made for unstoppable eating!

The roasted chicken that comes with 3 kinds of sauces was good as were the sweet corn fritters. Ended with their salted caramel and banana cheesecake. Ver good too with lovely caramelized banana topping the cheesecake.

Restaurant is promising even though it's still on soft opening. Look out for Ariel, who was our excellent and friendly server

Dined here as a year end party of my friends. Price seems to be steep but it's already good for sharing - although I should warn that this sharing portion isn't as big as you would thought it would be. Sharing in this context would mean a fine dining kind of portion.

Let's start with the service. Since the time we dined here isn't jam packed as it usually would be, service is great. But I could imagine a full house and service goes down.

Food. As for food, I would rate it a bit lower than I expected. Ordered the rib eye steak, the Bulalo estofado and the chicken. From what it would look like, it would seem that the steak would be the best tasting in our menu but the Bulalo estofado saved the whole thing. Chicken was a little bit bland, you need to put a sauce on top so that you would appreciate it. Steak seems to be cooked just right, but something is missing. Bulalo estofado was just of right kick, I like the zing of orange on it.

The place itself is really easy to find, if you're working from ortigas. Although with the help of the location based apps, you can find it. It's near the metro walk. Sapphire St isn't that hard to find.

Overall, I was satisfied with my meal but I do have some reservations with the price and the taste. Rating it just right. Will be coming back but not soon enough.

We were a big group of 20 persons celebrating the Christmas season. Ordered Chorizo Fried Rice, Bulalo Estofado, and their Peruvian Chicken. The Chorizo Fried Rice tastes of home-cooked goodness; while their Peruvian Chicken can be quite dry, but the 3 sauces make up for it. As it is delicious! The Estafado is a must try! We also got to taste some other dishes not pictured here: Fritters, and Steak. The steak for me has the right amount of thickness and is both tasty and soft (not over-cooked which can have a bubble gum effect). Service was excellent and fast as they are currently under soft opening, management will glad to hear from you

Watch out for the steep parking entrance. Even the parking committee of the building is still under "soft opening" as they are quite unprepared to handle two (2) or more cars in line.

This relatively new resto located at Sapphire Bloc Ortigas serves a fusion of South American and Filipino dishes. Headed by Chef Benjo Tuason who included home-made recipes in the menu which gives it a more homey feel apart from the ambiance. For starters we had the 3 salads they offer and my fave is the Calamari Salad. I also loved the ceviche since they didn't use vinegar. The fish was fresh, at least to my taste. Their corn fritters is pretty much like a corn muffin with a twist. Covered in batter then fried to golden perfection. Afterwhich, it's rolled in honey and some herb for a twist in taste. The chorizo croquetas are ok but there's too much of the potato starchy-like taste which over powers the other ingredients. For the main dishes, the bulalo estofado takes home the crown. This is the home recipe which Chef Benjo incorporated on the menu and indeed it tastes like home. The beef was cooked to perfection and the sauce was very flavorful. Next is the Peruvian Spiced chicken. Sooooo tender and full of all kinds of southern flavor. The chicken was marinated and brined overnight then baked to tender perfection. This, paired with the chorizo fried rice, completed the homey taste. The kapeng barako crusted ribeye was also good but it lacked the coffee flavor which is what I was expecting to taste on the first bite. However, the price of 1k for 300gms made up for it. Good, thick, juicy red meat for that price is worth it. I liked the chimichurri sauce with the steak. Ending the sumptious meal wih the salted caramel and banana cheesecake was definitely something you'll go back for. Hopefully they would expand their menu as they are still in the soft opening stage. They could also improve on consistently making sure that the dishes have serving utensils. Other than that, it was an overall terrific eating experience. Will definitely recommend, nevermind that one of the owners is a friend, Sobremesa's food list says a lot about what they can offer and it totally delivers sans the other celebrity promotions.

I tried the place while they were still on soft opening (2nd week) so I think they'll probably expand the menu eventually (which at the time was a bit limited).  My favorite dish was the tanigue ceviche which was very tangy, a bit spicy, perfectly balanced with the addition of sweet corn. The bulalo estofado and Peruvian chicken was ok, a bit bland for my taste.  The caramel banana cheesecake was good, but I would have preferred a more buttery crust and a thicker cheesecake layer.  All in all a good restaurant with A+ best ceviche.

A new hangout place has just opened in Ortigas area. Located at the Sapphire Bloc, it's a great place to be at after a long day at work. It would sure be a perfect nightcap. :)

Make sure to order their Salted Caramel Cheesecake! I love it with bananas. Such a great deal for someone with a sweet tooth like me.

Their croquettes is also a must-try. You should definitely not miss out on their bulalo estofado. The bulalo meat was super tender, kinda melts in your mouth.

We also ordered their corn fritters. It's bread-like, maruya-like dish, but comes with an awesome salsa dip! 😋

Would definitely be back at Sobremesa with friends.

Of all the delicious meals we ordered here, my top three would be 1) the super tender Bulalo Estofado that matched perfectly with the complimentary wine, 2) the Peruvian Spiced Roasted Chicken that comes with 3 diff flavorful sauce and 3) the Salted Caramel Banana Cheesecake! You will definitely order the dessert twice. My only recommendation is to improve the consistency of food, particularly the kesong puti sweet corn fritters.

You will definitely go back to this place for its light and homey ambiance - a perfect place to enjoy unique food, to-die-for dessert and have great table talks. 👍🏽

I love the concept - South American and Filipino fusion! their dishes are flavorful and mouthwatering. The tanigue ceviche, barako coffee crusted rib eye and Peruvian spiced roasted chicken are my faves! Its good for sharing plus it's affordable. For the dessert, they have Salted Caramel Banana Cheesecake and Mango coconut almond cheesecake - I swear, i've never tasted cheesecake this good! Ambiance is perfect for dining with family, friends or officemates. Cant wait to go back and try out their other dishes. I heard the Bulalo estofado is one of their best sellers.

Another pop-up place in Ortigas that serves good variety of food. Sobremesa is a Latin American restaurant that offer vask selections of filipino and latin american dishes. I personally love the interiors and the brightness of it, Not pretentious but simply spacious.

Amongst all the restaurant in the area, they offer simple dishes that will make you crave for more. Examples are the bulalo estofado, that is something Chef Benjo should be or rather is proud of. The somewhat sweet and tender beef with sweet potatoes will make you change your liking in bulalo. Next is the barako coffee crusted rib eye, goodness! I'm not a coffee drinker but to have that in my steak and it tastes so good is just simply great. No need for steak sauce for this. Another is the Peruvian spiced roasted chicken, my liking in chicken is so plain and normal but the tenderness of this roasted chicken mixed with 3 different kind of sauces, makes everything perfect. Last but not the least is the chili and paprika sautéed shrimps the description says it all, i cant even describe how good that is.. Yes, i jumped to main dish as i am excited to review it. But going to the appetizers my personal favorite is the ceviche and kesong puti sweet corn fritters.. Just those alone makes my visit here worth while. To end my meal, i just love love love the salted caramel and banana cheesecake. That's it! I couldn't say otherwise. It is absolutely fantastic! Another favorite restaurant in the list!

Btw, they're still in their soft opening and I can't wait to see the full menu.

The newest kid in the Sapphire Bloc! So glad there is at least one good resto in the array of pubs and bars in the area. The resto serves great South American x Filipino food. Must- try's are their Barako Crusted Rib- Eye steak and Bulalo Estofado. They are still in their soft opening so expect some glitches but so far, so good! 😊
