The best Japanese restaurant in the Ortigas area.
Good food for a reasonable price. We will keep coming back.
Good food, good price. We have been here several times already
Just as great as their original branch in Wilson. Must try if you’re in the area.
Wow. Cold soba noodles paired well with the yakitori. At first, I was a bit reluctant to try Tori Tori since I was in the moos for fish, but Im glas to know they offer seafood options for yakitori as well. I also love their sashimi which alternately melts and pops on your tongue (they added fish crisps to balance the smooth texture of the fish).
We came here around noon, and enjoyed good service from the waitstaff. I was a bit curious which sauce/condiment goes where, and they were patient enough to discuss possible combinations. 250 php for set meals might be a bit pricey considering the serving, but we went out full, not bloated.
We usually go here for some after gym chill out session. Love their yakitoris and ambiance is 💯!

Very sulit price is very good for what you get - and it’s not even expensive. The staff are super friendly and the ambiance brings us back to our japan trip. The quality of food is also very good. was not able to take photos cause we were super hungry and the food was teasing us! Will definitely go back and take photos next time!
A good place for a quick dinner. They have these sets that are around Php250 which are great to round up your meal if you’re ordering mostly kushiyaki. I also like that they mix the tuna and salmon that comes with the set, gives you a nice mix of things to eat. The tamago rice was okay, but I was hoping the sushi rice would be a little stickier - it just tasted like regularly steamed rice. Kushiyaki items are reasonably priced and taste pretty good! The place is small and gets pretty loud. The table closest to the wall was a little warm but okay. The tables are a little small so it could be hard to fit in several dishes on.
...if you're tightening your belt and wanting some quality eats, you might wanna visit this simple Japanese inspired restaurant.. offering great food at reasonable costs, it is worth calling it a go-to place regardless when you're alone or with company
Kushiyaki Bar that serves Sashimi, Sushi, Makimono, and Donburi. Craved for Japanese lunch and went for set meals for Php250 each. Each set comes with mixed spicy tuna salmon sashimi and miso soup. Preferred The Set B with Chicken Thigh and Angus Belly Kushiyaki topped with Tamago. Set D is mainly 8-piece California Maki that is sold as Php200 if Ala Carte. Unlimited alcohol promo offerings are also available.
Small place but good food! Yakitori choices are quite a lot and they have sashimi and sushi as well. If you're in a budget, they have package meal for 250 pesos only!
Cozy place. It's not awkward to dine alone.
Wagyu is good. Most of all they have unlimited Johnny Walker Black Label and Red Label plus unlimited beer every Monday to Wednesday.
Although the place is small, the food is quite nice. Servings are a little small for the price but the ambiance is nice and the service is fast.
This has got to be one of my favourite go-to restaurants at pearl drive!!! The food is worth it and if you love unlimited cold tea, this is DEFINITELY the place to go. My personal favourite is their Butabara!!! With php200, you can already buy 3 pieces of the Butabara (beef, 50php per stick) and their Japanese rice (50php per cup). It’s really worth it and I get so full easily. Their Angus belly is also great and they give you unli garlic mayo(?) which is fantastic. It’s even better to come here with friends!
Nice little place with lovely food. Tried the grilled dishes and they were so good and tasty! Must try the sushi/sashimi next time. Atmosphere was Filipino/Japanese - superb!
Best kushiyaki bar ive been to in Manila! Loove the butabara, chicken skin, angus belly, bacon enoki, cherry tomatoes, bacon rice, spicy tuna and kani salad ❤❤❤ theyre consistent every time!
Such a cute little Japanese place near SM megamall... food was good and worth the price. Such a nice go-to place after work with friends :) they also have unli whiskey promos and buy one take one on local beers during the weekend. Love their skewers.. offers a wide variety for you to mix and match- or you can just try em all 😂

Great valuable skewers. Good location because it’s around office buildings. They’re only open on Mondays to Fridays because it’s a place who caters to office customers, but good go-to for Japanese. I recommend Chicken Skewers and Salmon and Uni Sashimi.
This restaurant is one of our go-to places in Ortigas, especially when we're looking for a break from our usual fastfood lunch-outs. Loved their kushiyaki, though we were able to try only butabara, chicken thigh, angus beef, and salmon. The spicy mayo perfectly complements the taste of the grilled meat. I also enjoyed their spicy salmon, though it was only a small serving as it was included in a set meal menu. Would definitely want to go back and try out other dishes!
Had lunch with officemates here for the first time. I tried the Butabara and the Angus Belly, and both were delicious paired with steamed rice. Wanted to try the Salmon as well but sadly it wasn’t available. Overall, service was good and the price was affordable. Will definitely add this to my list of lunch choices!
Loved how their kitchen perfected the art of grilling - just how it is when we had kushiyaki in Japan! Had their Japanese scallops, wagyu cubes, bacon enoki, chicken thigh, butabara, sausage, angus belly, bacon quail egg, onion leeks, fish tofu kushiyaki, along with kani salad, gyoza, yakisoba, bacon rice and bacon egg rice (yep i got excited and ordered almost everything on the kushiyaki list). Enjoyed the scallops, wagyu cubes, butabara and bacon enoki the most from the list. The surprise here was the butabara - i have tried this in other kushiyaki spots in the metro and there were instances where it was dry so i managed my expectations for this one, but boy was i wrong! nothing compares to how juicy and tender the butabara is in this place! The yakisoba is legit, the strong flavors from the beni shoga tsukemono (red ginger pickles) made it perfect. 19 sticks of kushiyaki plus all the other orders equalled a little less than 2k for four pax. We over order as always, and came out BELLY full!
If I were to have a dream snack bar, Tori Tori Kushiyaki Snack Bar would be that dream coming true. I love Japanese food! Kushiyaki or in some terms yakitori refers to sticks of small grilled meats. Bite-size grilled meat is the perfect snack--BBQ on a stick.
It was my first time at Tori Tori, and there was quite a variety of kushiyaki sticks to picked from. I picked 5. Wagyu beef (of course), chicken wings, shitake mushrooms, bacon enoki and angus belly. All of them had a slightly sweet glaze on it. I would have like the option of having something with just plain salt and pepper, but it was still really good, I am not complaining. Plus, I think kushiyaki does involve tare (a sauce/glaze). They also had sushi and sashimi dishes that also sounded and looked delectable on their menu. I ended up ordering the spicy salmon sashimi.
Spicy salmon sashimi - The best spicy salmon sashimi that I have eaten at any restaurant! The balance of flavors were just right--wasabi wasn't overbearing and it didn't taste fishy at all. There was quite a lot of tempura bits, and that's a plus for me.
Wagyu - These delectable cubes are quite soft. Not exactly melt in your mouth, but still very yummy. Usually in other places, the fat slightly melts on the plate while it sits there. Honestly that can be a bummer. The glaze however keeps it from doing that. No yumminess goes to waste.
Chicken Wings - I always order chicken wing skewers whenever it's available. The light char that it has, balances well with the sweet glaze.
Angus Belly - This soft beef cut is my fave out of all the meat kushiyakis I ordered. It was very rich in beef flavor. I forgot I wanted to try it out and had to catch up on it while my other orders were already served. It became my 'best for last' kushiyaki.
Bacon Enoki - Anything is better with bacon! And enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon really is a thrill on the tastebuds. The bacon may not be crispy, but the flavor of it is undoubtedly there. The oink cannot be missed!
Shitake - Umami flavors can come from a variety of mushrooms, and shitake mushrooms are the ones with the most of it. The rich meatiness of it comes out more and more with every chew. And with the tare glaze that coats it, it is a perfect pairing.
Food: 4.5 - The food was absoloutely devine. The sauces on the side though, which were a garlic aioli and a spicy sauce were hohum to me. I didn't like them too much and thought that they didn't level up the kushiyakis. In some cases, it might have brought it down. The kushiyakis were already perfect on their own.
Price: 5.0 - The food is authenticly Japanese. With that, normally Japanese cuisine is pricey. At Tori Tori though, prices are quite affordable.
Service: 5.0 - The staff is friendly, always smiling, and on their toes.
Ambiebce: 5.0 - The place is small, and quite laid back, having a homey feeling. It gives me that same feeling I get with the izakaya videos I see online on YouTube. Nothing fancy or frilly. The food is enough to speak on its own.
There are still numerous items that I have yet to try. I am going back soon to try some more! 👍
I visit this place whenever I crave for that wasabi-and-soy kick. The makki, sushi and sahimi are consistently good! Crew are responsive and the place is nice. Not that spacious compared to other Japanese restaurants, but it’s still nice.
I love their food!!! It was my first time visiting, and I will definitely go back.
My friend and I ordered set D which consists of 8pcs California Maki, Miso soup, and Spicy Salmon and Tuna, all for 250 pesos. We also added 2 sticks of fish tofu at 50 pesos each.
I wasn’t really expecting much, but I got wide-eyed upon my first taste of their food! ♥️
Discovered Tori Tori Kushiyaki some seven months ago per the invitation of Zomato. Then as now, their skewers are consistently good. and addicting
The sushi is satisfactory! I recommend their Angus Beef and their California Maki. In terms of service, it's average. But yay for no service charge!
Tori Tori Kushiyaki Snack Bar is a quiet little place in Pearl Plaza that serves kushiyaki, which are grilled poultry and non-poultry food items, among other Japanese classic dishes. Here are some dishes that I had during my visit there:. These plump dumplings thankfully do not taste as earthy as the gyoza that I had in other restaurants. The dipping sauce also has a mild taste and does not have a stinging bite to it. This makes this gyoza a good way to start off the meal.
After giving up on a visit of Megamall before Christmas, I randomly ended up in this place.
The wagyu is legit and perfectly prepared and the service was excellent.
Slightly pricy though
I was having 2nd thoughts whether to eat cheesecakes at Starbucks or buy samgyupsal at Escriva Dr. I told myself I should try something new so I went around Pearl Plaza and tried this place. It is clean, staff are okay, one waitress offered me semi-cold water after getting my order and then the other one gave me my order when I forgot to bring it outside with me. Food is above average. I really like the chicken skin and wagyu cubes (even though it is small). I didn't like the shitake too much, though. Id still go back here.

For a no-fail experience, get ONLY these: Butabara, Plain Rice, and Sausage (No, not the chicken sausage).
----
The bacon rice is good on its own, pairing it with other viands would just make it too greasy. By the way, the Sausage is good here too!
---
Skip the Duck as it is mostly made of starch. Skip the Chicken Sausage too---too starchy and salty.
---
Really just go for the Butabara as it is the only consistently good one on the menu. The sushi rolls are no longer consistent when it comes to taste and quality. Again, we reiterate: a hit or a miss.
---
Sad for the Octopus dish as it was made with a lot of flour with just small bits of chopped octopus. Basically, it's grilled squid ball. (See photo) Item was price at Php 100.
---
Butabara is highly-recommended!
Spare yourself from the Japanese Scallops Kushiyaki (Php 170/stick). Personally, it would have been better served plain than drenched in sauce.
---
Update: This place has leveled up in terms of service and the food. Everything in their grilled menu is definirelt worth the try. We go here as much as we can for lunch and dinner! Buy 1 take 1 beer on weekends!
____
This is our go-to "safe" Japanese Restaurant in Pearl Plaza. I have to say though that food here is kind of a "hit or miss."
The best one here is the Grilled Butabara (skewered) paired with their rice because it is juicy and flavorful. I think it is better to get it than the Wagyu Cubes.
The Ebi Tempura Roll is lacking (needs more components) and the same goes with their off-the-menu Ebi Tempura Meal (3pcs).
Ebi Tempura 3pcs. (Php 140)
Japanese Plain Rice (Php 50)
Good and authentic Japanese food. They also offer unlimited whisky and buy 1 take 1 san mig light. Price is very reasonable.
No pictures coz we’re super hungry. We ate it right away! It was super yummy!
I'm still dreaming about the glorious wagyu and beef belly from this snack bar! The melt-in-your-mouth kind of goodness is certainly what makes me want to come back again and again and again!
My friend invited me for dinner at this resto. I wouldn't be able to discover this place without her. So they offer yakitori from meat to fish and everything in between. Not only that they offer alcohol too. Affordable prices too. Red label Php50, coke (Php50) butabara (Php45) and jap rice (Php50).
The food takes a while to get served but it's well worth the wait. Must-orders are the Butabara, Beef Angus Belly, Wagyu cubes and the bacon rice.
What is Kushiyaki?
Kushiyaki refers to a grilled meat or vegetables on a skewers.
Tori-Tori Kushiyaki Snack Bar is a Japanese restaurant which offer grilled skewers.
THE PLACE
We had dinner in their second branch in Ortigas Center. The first one is situated in San Juan.
Tori-Tori Kushiyaki Ortigas branch is not that big. It can only accommodate at least 20 customers. They used wood as the main interior to complement with the Japanese concept of the restaurant.

After my first Tori Tori experience, I immediately came back a week after! That's how much i enjoyed it!
Tori Tori Snack Bar is a hole-in-a-wall Japanese restaurant that can be found snuck in the deep end of Pearl Plaza in Ortigas. Their space wasn’t really huge but snack bars in Japan are just as small or even smaller. It didn’t really feel cramped thanks to the simple japanese decor and their miniature furniture. They mainly serve kushiyaki which are bite sized, skewered and grilled items ranging from the famous Yakitori (chicken) to different Meats, Seafood, and Veggies. They also have familiar Japanese snacks like Maki, Sashimi, as well as unique dishes like Wraps and Rice Bowls. We were lucky that we were able to try out a wide range of their Kushiyaki as well as a few more dishes so let's get it on!
Kushiyaki: Let’s start with their main items which come in a variety of different meats and can be purchased individually or in a set of 3 or 4. Similar to our “ihaw-ihaw” they also like to baste the meat in a sweet sauce which they call “tare”
Japanese Wagyu Cubes: Why not start out with the most prized item in the menu for once. Their wagyu cubes are wonderfully tender, and bursting with all that juicy fat. The flavor of the beef was gentle and i really liked the texture of the beef
Angus Belly Kushiyaki: Most people easily go for more upscale items like Wagyu cubes but personally, i prefer meatier variants of beef like Angus. As expected, their grilled angus kushiyaki was delicious, the meat had that concentrated beef flavor that can only be attributed to the variety of beef,it also had with a nice hint of smokiness and it had just the right amount of firmness. To die for!
Butabara: Butabara or Pork Belly is another popular type of kushiyaki especially among Filipinos who are fond of their liempo. As per usual, this butabara was a light greyish-brown and had a light char, i really like the simple and clean flavors of the tender meat which was obviously fresh. Its also one of the relatively cheaper items (P45 per stick) so you could easily go out to town witht his one!
Bacon Enoki Kushiyaki:This one was another crowd favorite. Although i’ve had this a hundred times already, i really like their version of the bacon wrapped enoki kushiyaki because of the thick slice of smoky-sweet bacon and the crunchy mushroom inside. What's also cool was like the two components sor of fused together yet they still maintained two distinct textures which made it interesting and delicious.
Chicken Thigh Kushiyaki: This one was just as simple as the butabara and they only used thigh meat brushed their tare. I thought that the taste was really well balanced and the meat was tender, it tasted a little plain and bare in comparison to the other meats.
Chicken Skin Kushiyaki: This on the other hand was the bomb! The thick slices of crispy, grilled chicken skin had a nice sweet flavor and that strong chicken flavor which i really liked. This one was a true diet killer because one stick is simply not enough!
Grilled Sausage: Grilled sausages looks plain and generic compared to other options in the menu but these ones were pretty delicious. Their sausages were quite similar to chorizo which was sweet and meaty and it reminded me of the special breakfast sausage that you eat at your grandma’s house. Loveee
Shishamo: Now we're moving from meats to grilled fish and other things territory. From the looks of it, it just seems like a whole small fish skewered and grilled but it's actually filled with eggs (a bit harsh no?). Gore aside, the fish had a clean fishy taste and the roe which sort of melted into a soft yolk gave it a nice richness which made it unique.
Shio Saba: Also known as Grilled Mackerel. This dish was quite simple and emphasized on the clean flavors of this delicate fish, that grimy, fishy taste and aroma was non existent which made it super pleasant to eat. My only complaint was that it was a little bland.
Cherry Tomato: Most of us ignore grilled vegetable because they tend to be bland but don't underestimate veggies because it was definitely impressed with this one. The tomatoes were caramelized on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. They also glazed it in the tare sauce and i think it was dusted in seaweed bits which gave it a boost of umami flavor.
Eggplants: Lastly, i had these slices of grilled and glazed eggplant which to my surprise was really delicious! The eggplant in itself was still firm and juicy while the glaze was like a sweet barbecue sauce which was when partnered with the eggplant made it even better than some of the meat kushiyaki. This is a great alternative to the vegans and the vegetarians out there or those who just want to cut calories who dont want to compromise taste.
Sashimi and Maki Rolls: Aside from grilled items they also have a wide variety of sushi, maki, sashimi which are really affordable and really delicious.
Spicy Tuna: The quality of the meat was satisfactory while the sauce well taste like spicy japanese mayo. Overall, the flavors of the dish were really simple but it was still delicious i would’ve liked it if they added something to make it more interesting.
Salmon Cheese Roll: Now this one was something else! I really liked the combination of classic sushi/maki elements like the tender slice of salmon, japanese rice, and cream cheese which made it a lot richer and meshed perfectly with the other flavor components like the sweet mango and the savory nori and rice.
Special California Maki: The components of this roll were pretty standard for your california maki but the mayo which complemented the roll rather than overpower it was a great addition. The quality of the rice, the kani, and the mangoes were good and obviously delicious as well!
Other items: Aside for Kushiyaki and Rolls you can also find a variety of things which are also good snacks if you want some variety.
Angus Belly Wrap and Butabara Wrap: The grilled meat used was the same thing that you can get served in a stick. The other components were pita bread, some lettuce, a little bit of pico de gallo, and some mayo (?) dressing. The wrap its own it was just alright but if you add some of the fresh garlic sauce AND their spicy mayo sauce with a dash of the spice powder it takes off to another dimension of greatness!
Bacon Egg Rice: Another distinct item in their menu is their bacon and egg rice bowl which is way back into their menu. It might be a strange addition to the their menu but i can deny that it was delicious. The bacon bits taste like a cross between honeycured bacon and tocino while the “plain” rice was actually sticky, high quality japanese rice. It's also really affordable so if you want a quick and filling meal then definitely check this out!
Kani Salad: The last thing it tried was their Kani Salad. I really liked the stringy faux crab meat which managed to avoid tasting bland or artificial, i also liked the addition of corn which added a crunch to the dish. The dressing was okay but i felt like it just tasted like regular japanese mayo so it could benefit from another flavor component to give it a boost.
Alas, we have come to the end of another long review! Overall i thought that Tori-Tori Snack Bar was a really nice hidden gem in Ortigas. Although it might be a challenge to spot the restaurant, it's definitely worth checking out! Their kushiyaki and rolls were phenomenal and for its price, the quality is really top notch! They don’t even have to rely on gimmicks or experiments because the flavors of their dishes speak for themselves. The service was good as our servers were attentive and knowledgeable, my only suggestions would be to have a wash room space, Wi-Fi and start accepting Credit Cards ASAP! Overall, they still managed to create an inviting atmosphere even with their limited space so it's perfect for late night drinks or just catching up with buddies! The space is quite limited so make sure to get a reservation (Through the Zomato app lol) if you're coming with a big group.
Tori Tori, which is located just a stone’s throw away from UA&P, offers a wide and very affordable selection of skewered meats and vegetables.
My favorites were the rice bowl with bacon bits and a soft boiled egg, along with bacon-wrapped quail eggs, shiitake mushrooms, the sausage (which tastes almost like a longganisa of sorts,) and the wagyu cubes.
Though all their items are already tasty on their own, you can choose from several dipping sauces to add even more flavor. These are the Spicy Japanese Mayo. Garlic Japanese Mayo, and the Sesame Mayo.
Something to note – they don’t accept debit or credit cards, so you need to make sure you bring cash before coming. It is also best to come around 5:30 pm, as it gets pretty full 6 pm onwards.China Johnbunag Iris Lin @
I tried eating here last week and was surprised we decided to go back today. The food is actually good especially the wagyu, the chicken liver, and my son said the chicken skin was good too. Tried ordering kani salad and crazy maki today and suprisingly it tastes good too. I would recommend this to people who loves to eat grilled japanese meat. Not too pricey but good. The sauce that they are using is not that salty and not that sweet. Perfect for my taste. I guess were gonna keep on coming back here again and again.
I visited Tori Tori Kushiyaki Snack Bar in Ortigas just recently. My sister loves this place and highly recommends it. She lives at the Pearl Place, which is a stone throw away from Pearl Plaza where Tori Tori is situated. It is just one of many food establishments found here.
For just Php 285, I had a light and appetizing dinner that was mostly composed of food on sticks and on a wrap. As for their yakitori, I enjoyed most their marbled and juicy Wagyu. I also had some cherry tomatoes and their delicious mushy chicken liver. The Wrap It Up Chicken that is available for Php 85 was just like shawarma, but made even better. This open faced wrap has tasty grilled chicken, thin cabbage strips, and diced tomatoes in rich sesame dressing.
Anyway, it was only then when I was about to pay when I found out that they don't accept credit cards here, which is a downside for me since I have no available cash on hand at that time. So what I did to handle the situation at hand was surrender my phone to their counter and I went out for a walk just to look for a nearby ATM and get some cash. Totally a moment that's worth #SMH.
We ordered wagyu beef cubes, angus beef belly, butabara, tako (octopus), bacon enoki, and chicken wings among others.
We first tried this brand at their san juan branch. But i think this branch is better. There's more space inside and it's well lit. Also, it seems they have taken my comment from our first dining experience in san juan into heart: the skewers no longer taste the same! So the bee and I find that the food here is better.
Great food and great service! Was our local hangout while visiting here. Great deals on buckets of beer to wash down all the tasty treats. Looking forward to coming back.
The food was surprisingly GOOD. Snack bar, but filling. I would recommend it. Bacon rice, bacon wrap, maki, tamago sushi. But as you see, too late to take a picture. Gone in 60sec.. 😂😂😂
You'd be surprised by how enjoyable the Tori Tori experience is, not just the ambiance and variety being offered but mainly because of the rich flavors that permeate each perfectly charred stick. Never a dull bite!
Taste/Food ☆☆☆☆
- As with other Japanese restaurants, amount per Yakitori/Kushiyaki stick may look small and unsatisfying to the uninitiated. But trust me, what it lacks in sheer amount it makes up for with big flavors that will surely keep you coming back. Best paired with their plain japanese rice or their other sushi offerings. You'll never run out of combinations to choose from
Ambiance ☆☆☆
- Has a casual Japanese feel that'll make you comfortable the moment you step in. The place also looks more spacious than the previous restaurant that occupied the spot. Good use of space
Location ☆☆☆
- Conveniently tucked in one of the more quieter parts of the bustling business district, Tori Tori is easily accessible to both students and professionals residing in Ortigas. Might be difficult to look for a nearby parking space from lunch until afternoon on weekdays so walking from farther parking spots/buildings is pretty much your best bet during these hours
Service ☆☆☆☆
- The staff were all smiles, attentive and accommodating. We were well taken care of, didn't have any problem at all
Value for money ☆☆☆
- Might not be the best place to go to if you plan on stuffing yourself silly and not expect a hefty price tag. But if you're looking for enjoyable, delicious Kushiyaki and Sushi with decent servings and prices? Then you're in good hands
