Had our favorite Korean staples delivered via grab last night.

The only fly in the ointment was it was delivered at 130pm instead of 12 noon as originally agreed. Sorry no time for some fancy flatlay styling.  At almost 2pm , the piggery and the handsome hubby were just so famished I did not have the heart to stop them from attacking the food and just made do with whatever my phone can take shots of .

It is a relief to be served Korean that’s not in a buffet set-up which has been the trend in the country for a while now. Look, I do not have anything against the concept but it gets tiring. Actually, really tiring.

So, when an invite went around for Ye Dang, I immediately signed up.

I have to be candid with this review and be honest how a tad disappointed I was upon entering the restaurant. There was an unlit portion of the dining area where old chairs are stored. Making you feel that either the whole place is under renovation or soon to be condemned. Well, I didn’t bother to lose time by making a big fuss about it and just focused on the food instead.

And focus on food, I did. There were three dishes I fell in love with.

The Bibimbap, Pajeon (Korean pancake) and the star of the mini food event that afternoon (at least, in my book), the Grilled Mackerel. The Bibimbap’s spiciness was tempered without losing the flavor of the dish. The fish on the other hand smelled fresh and tasted fresh. The very light saltiness worked wonderfully for the dish. And the Korean Pancake, which I had almost half of, well-seasoned.

Ye Dang stands in Meralco Avenue proudly as one of the truly Korean Restaurants not relying on the latest unli BBQ idea to survive. Ye Dang has remained quiet all these years serving newbies and regulars with that one important thing in the restaurant business: serving good food.

And that's what Ye Dang offers. Quite successfully.

Post Script
A restaurant review is an amalgamation of three factors: food, service and atmosphere. I rest my case.

YE DANG - Located along Meralco Ave. It had been there for quite some time, but just recently they had a change of management. Who would have thought that its not your usual Korean BBQ Place where you can enjoy the usual Unlimited Korean BBQ. Here in Ye Dang, even though they're not serving unlimited meats, but guaranteed their serving quality pork, beef and chicken plus Authentic Korean dishes that we're all familiar with.

Way back in the mid 2000s, before the Korean BBQ craze gained the prominence it enjoys today, there have already been several restaurants that offer authentic Korean dishes in the Ortigas area. One of these restaurants is Ye Dang. Located along Meralco Avenue, it has been the destination of Korean food lovers as well as local Korean residents for the past fourteen years.

It has been in the business since then and now, even if it's on a new management, Ye Dang never failed to promise good quality of meat, and service.

Ye Dang offers a la carte dishes but the serving size is big and their side dishes are now unlimited.

The Japchae has generous servings of meat, and not too sweet. I like it. I also like the Seafood Pancake. For the meat, it was obvious that I like the Chicken, and the Beef. It was interesting to see that they also serve Grilled Mackerel here.

Price range is on the average-higher side but quality was never compromised.

Ye Dang continues to be consistent in delivering very good Korean food which is a level higher than the other Korean reataurants in the metro. The restaurant is clean with good ventilation so you don’t leave smelling like your food or smoke. There is also free parking in the back. We ordered the bibimbop, the spicy tofu soup, chapchae and seafood pajeon. They have one of the best chapchaes, noodles are sticky and chewy with good portions of meat! Portions all good to be shared amongst 3 persons. Definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants.

The beef of this restaurant is exquisite. This must be while the whole metro has moved on to Unli KBBQ, they are still thriving despite being a single serve restaurant. Even their side dishes are just single serve!

But I guess this was a throwback to the time when samgyupsal was not yet too popular. This was a popular spot back then and it was good to finally eat at one of the original joints.

Eat here if you're not too hungry and want to immerse in one of the OGs in the samgyupsal history of Metro Manila.

the good ole' classic Ye dang. this is one of the first ever korean restos we've tried waaaay back before k-dramas and k-pop were a thing. side dishes are great, which included sweet potatoes, dilis and egg rolls that treat your sweet, spicy, salty palates. medyo on the costly side though, since they don't offer packaged meals nor unlimited offers, good for couple's dates since you order a la carte.

Before the Korean and Korean food/meat grilling hype is even popular in the Metro or the whole nation, Yedang has already been established as one of the oldest Korean restaurants that offer authentic Korean cuisine.

I tried dining in the restaurant years ago and I could say that Yedang provided me a very good experience when it comes to meat grilling or the "Korean style" of eating meat.

Dinner with family and craving for korean dish 😊 due to bad weather we decided to look for a korean resto that is near and affordable. We went to Yedang 😉 place is like any korean bbq resto, servers were very attentive plus the owners do rounds asking customers feedback about the food. We had a sumptous meal and satisfied. This resto is not unlimited but the flavor is really good 😘.

Ye Dang is still one of the best places to get your BBQ meats over a charcoal grill. Good ventilation is a big plus for this neighborly Korean restaurant.

Order any of the marinated meats: beef short ribs, pork ribs and chicken leg. Wonderfully balanced flavors that are great with steamed rice or rolled in lettuce.

The Pajeon (beef-seafood pancake) is good but needs to be a little crispier.

Their banchans (side dishes) are all good.

Parking is limited, so good luck.

It is hailed as one of top Korean restaurants in Metro Manila. A bit pricey but you’ll get what you pay for. Their Pajeon (Korean Pancake) is more than satisfactory. Samgyupsal is more pricey than other restaurant’s. A lot of choices for Banchans. You can ask for a one-time refill, btw.

This was my third time eating at this Korean Bbq restaurant. This time around we had the beef belly and pork belly to grill. From the main dish menu, we had the Japchae noodles and beef bulgogi. Everyone was full and satisfied. Prices are reasonable considering how much food you get.

We think that Ye Dang’s pajeon is the best in town. What brings their korean pancake up a notch is that aside from the usual (squid), Ye Dang’s pajeon has beef in it.

Apart from the pajeon, we also enjoy the flavor of their bulgogi ang teokbokki. On our next visit we’ll probably skip the cold noodles. There are a lot of better options in Ye Dang in terms of flavor.

We enjoyed the complimentart appetizers that we were served, although the restaurant only allows you to refill four dishes. We chose the fish cakes (2), marble potatoes in sweet soy sauce and the peanuts. We noticed that the peanuts that we were given in our second round of appetizers wasn’t quite the same as the one we were given initially - the peanuts were now glazed in sweet soy sauce rather than frolicking in it.

Overall, always a good experience. Would come back for the good food!

People are lining up at this place, waiting for their turns for a quick fix of korean bbq. I say quick because customers here do not usually pass time over chitchats and stories while bbq-ing. We got here few minutes past 5, early enough we thought, yet we were lucky to get the last table available.

dishes are fairly priced and the owners are very accommodating and attentive to the needs of their customers.

Pork here is good since it's not too thickly sliced, but ofcourse, the beef is much much better and tastier.

But As of late, last year i think- the ownership changed, and from unli sidedish that you can choose from, they became strict already. Prices of the meat also increased :( same old flavor tho. In short masarap parin Kahit di na masyado friendly un price ng korean bbque nila. Celebrities usually frequent this place.

Id still eat here even if abit expensive.

This is the first korean non-buffet restaurant I have eaten at. Even though they stopped giving off refillable sides, it is still the best place for me to get delicious and satisfying korean cuisine. You only need atleast 250php to eat alone or maybe 550php if you have someone with you. Though I would not bother spending more to try all their dishes, I am easilly satisfied by their sides alone.

Another one of my favorite "go-to" places for Korean BBQ! Aside from their great beef and pork strips, you should try the Japchae, Ponchan and Spicy Seafood Soup. They also have one of the best Kimchi I've tasted, not too salty or sweet! And the owner (so sorry, I forgot her name) was super helpful and accommodating! She gave us a crash course on how to enjoy eating KBBQ the Korean way!

They've got ample parking space at the back so no need to worry where to park (given that its near the corner of J. Vargas). Wait staff are great, venue is a little old but clean. The only downside here is that their side dishes are not unlimited. After two replenishment of any side dish, there's a charge of Php50/dish. Oh, and be prepared to smell like the grill after your done eating.

Ah Ye Dang, the go-to Korean restaurant. I have been here only twice and twice they didn't disappoint. Had lunch with my friends working in Ortigas so it's readily accessible, easily a walking distance from major offices. It is usually full during weekend nights but it was practically empty when we went there for a weekday lunch.

Like most Korean restaurants, they serve a plethora of banchan but can only refill two of them. We especially like the caramelized baby potatoes so we had those for refill twice.

Ordered Jap Chae, Galbi-jjim and Samgyeopsal for main dishes. The Jap Chae is one of my favourite Korean dish and Ye Dang cooked them very much to my liking. The sweetness is just enough, the glass noodles firm and topped with assorted vegetables and meat. The serving is huge that we had to pack half of it.

Galbijim is basically braised short ribs (beef/pork).  This dish easily goes with rice (it's a stew dish). The beef was cooked well/tender and will easily break apart.

Samgyeopsal is a dish composed of plain, unseasoned, pork belly slices. Their Samgyupsal is on the thin side served with slices of onion and is nothing special.  The dish is served with a ssamjang and lettuce which are wrapped and eaten all together.

Korean food is ❤️. Ye Dang is located along Meralco Ave. We went here for dinner. We were a bit early so no other diners yet. I read that this restaurant is always full. The place is spacious. We started with tteokbokki. Okay it was not that awesome. I love tteokbokki and I have tried it several times in Seoul and Busan. It's not that spicy and 350php is too pricey for that. You can get cheaper somewhere else with better quality. I'm giving this restaurant 4.0 for the quality of their meat!! The beef belly was awesome. We also had pork ribs. It was also good. It was juicy and flavorful. But not the sweet kind of flavor. I also like their banchan! Two orders of meat can be good for 3 not so hungry persons. The service was good.

Super yummy Korean foods! When we arrived, the place was full. Luckily, someone just left. They served the usual many side dishes immediately after we ordered for the meats. I like the cut of their veggies. It makes it easier for making a samgyupsal. The waitress cooked the meats for us, so it's a plus since no hassle for us. A little bit hot in our area, but it's tolerable. We parked our car at their back parking, which was far from the restaurant.

I'm not really into Korean food but since majority of my friends were craving for something Korean at that time, I had to give in. We ordered Samgyupsal, Galbusal, and La Galbi. The raw meat was fresh and thick. They were grilled in front of us by a waitress who wasn't warm and accommodating. She would answer our questions with a flat facial reaction while her eyes are wandering somewhere else. To me it seemed like a sign of customer disrespect, and it's a major no-no in any food establishment.
Anyway, we also tried the spicy soft tofu hot pot. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting (which I personally prefer). Among their assorted appetizers, the small potato balls and raddish stood out.
You wouldn't believe that we paid only a total of P1,500 for all of these. Being not much of a Korean cuisine fanatic, I'm surprised that I found the food here actually good. 👍🏼

Ye Dang has solidified their presence in Ortigas area as one of the most respected and go to Korean restaurant. I live in the area and this type
of cuisine is everywhere.

It's been awhile since I set foot. The ambiance is already ran down and old. It was actually expecting insects to crawl or fly anytime soon.

The biggest let down is their temperature. It was really hot even without considering the heat from table cooking. Having their hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap wasn't the best idea.

Anyway, they have really delicious Korean Chicken Barbecue! My taste buds were alive and kicking. This gets better as you wrap it in healthy lettuce and add some raw garlic.

Wasn't satisfied with Bibimbap taste though. It was virtually tasteless. I added lots of gouchang and that didn't save it. It was also overpriced at Php 300.

This is a typical Korean restaurant. They serve korean dishes with free unlimited sides. My korean friends always choose this place whenever they miss Korean food, and that's a good sign that what you are getting here is authentic. :)

I would have given 5 for this restaurant, and this could be the best Korean restaurant in the Philippines, if only they could offer yangnyeom tongdak korean fried chicken and sundae (blood sausage).

Try:
Sam gyup sal (roast pork belly)
Usamgyup (grill beef belly)
Sundubuchigae (spicy tofu stew)
Pajeon (Korean pancake)
Dolsot Bibimbap (Rice with some veggies and meat)

One thing you should expect from dining in Korean restaurants is you're going end up smelling like oil, coal and barbecued meats. Oil, coal and meats also means that these places will most likely have greasy tables and floors.

Since these things are already expected from these types of restaurants, the only thing one can really comment on is food and service.

Ye Dang is priced similar to other Korean restaurants in the Pasig area. They serve what most Korean owned Korean restaurants do. It used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants to frequent but has been lowered on the list since many others have opened.

One of the dishes this place does well is their Korean pancake or Pajeon. Their pajeon is a little different from what's served in other places because of the crispy edges. I don't know if that's authentic but I like it.

Trivia: Pa means spring onion or green onion and Jeon is the type of pancake dish. So other variants include Kimchi Jeon and Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Pajeon).

Korean restaurants may seem to be similar in terms of food, at least as regards the basics including the banchan, jjigae and grilled meat, but each restaurant has its own dish to boast. For Ye Dang, I believe it is the intriguing sungihaejangkuk (in lay language, clotted beef blood soup with rice). As I am into the unusual (but not extreme) cuisine, this particular item caught my attention the first time ever I visited this place. The taste is a fusion of "betamax" and kimchi jjigae, thus qualifying as "Pinoy K-pop" dish, if ever there's such a term. The kimchi, the most staple and most important among all the banchan side dishes, is fermented quite perfectly.

Every time we crave for Korean food we go Ye Dang, our family's favorite restaurant. On top of all the yummy appetizers, lettuce & sessame leaves, we got our favorites - beef stew, omelet, japchae, chicken soup with ginseng. For the grilling we got pork belly, chicken fillet & beef strips, and the sweet pineapple for dessert (jumulluk, usamgyup, d. kui, samgyupsal, pajon, K. jim). Very healthy food - prime cuts, lean meat, fresh ingridients, authentic Korean cuisine. Price per order ranges from P250-P700 (chicken soup with ginseng). Food is to be shared with 4-5 persons.
Furnishings are all made of heavy wood, there's minimal decoration, and walls were lined with bamboo sticks patterned like tiles. The silver accordion exhaust tubes that hangs from the ceiling accentuates tables with built-in grillers. Chopsticks, ceramic dinner wares, stainless steel spoon and glasses adorn every table. I remember when we first dined-in the dinner wares were of different shapes and sizes - it was daintily odd, and drinking water was infused with slices of lemon or pandan leaves then.
Service is fast & systematic. Staff are efficient, helpful and nice. The owner is very visible and hands on too. It is advisable to come early because restaurant is always full, specially on weekends. Restaurant hours are from 10:30am - 9:30pm. There's limited parking infront and at the back of the establishment.

This way, we get to compare one resto from the other and we get to pick what's the best in each one. What stood out for me here in Ye-Dang is their beef bulgogi! I have tried this dish in every Korean Restaurant that I have dined in; and I must say, Ye-Dang's really stood out! Finally we were able to try out Ye Dang. I was always intrigued with this restaurant because of its good review and high rating.

To start off they have an impressive variety of banchans. I always like Korean restaurants that have a wide variety of banchans.

We ordered our usual samgyeupsal and kimchi jjigae. The samgyeupsal was delicious, juicy, and tender. The serving was also more than enough for the two of us. Though I hated that they didn't have lettuce to go along with our samgyeupsal. I don't know if they don't serve lettuce or just ran out of it that day. What they gave us was cabbage (I think?) and mint leaves. I liked the mint leaves. I usually wrap my samgyeupsal with lettuce and mint leaf. I am not a fan of the cabbage on the other hand. It was hard to wrap my samgyeupsal with it. So I was kind of disappointed with this.

Then our kimchi jjigae, I've eaten kimchi jjigae a lot of times before and I have tried many versions of it. It seems like every Korean restaurant has a different recipe of it (much like how every Filipino household have their own adobo recipe). I've had salty, sour, super spicy, and sweet kimchi jjigae before and Ye Dang's version is on the sour side. Super sour side. Almost like spicy sinigang sour. Honestly, I did not liked it. I think it was too sour for me. It's a good thing though when I asked the staff if they could tone down the sourness of this dish they were happy to oblige. Though when the dish came back it was still sour for our taste. We didn't get to finish our kimchi jjigae which is a first time.

So overall, I still think Ye Dang is a good Korean restaurant. They just didn't do good on our usual order so we may have to go out of our comfort zone and try their other dishes. Though definitely Ye Dang is no longer an option if we are craving for samgyeupsal and kimchi jjigae.

This is so far the best korean restaurant that i've been to in ortigas and pasig area since there's so many korean restaurants around here. The bbq is great even if its much more pricey than the others. The thing i dont like is the very slippery floor coz of all the oil etc.. So hard to walk properly. Then make you wont be going anywhere after since you'll smell like bbq once you're out of the restaurant.

Went here on a Saturday evening. It was almost 2 years since my last visit here. The place looks a little run down probably after the closure a year ago.

The food, especially the barbecue meat, was as good as my previous visits. The banchan (the yummy appetizers that come with the meat) seemed fewer and less yummy than before.

We ordered galbi (beef short ribs), Angus beef, pork ribs and pork belly to be grilled at the table. All of these were yummy with the pride of place going to the beef ribs. They were so sweet and good tasting. The dips for the meat ( both the spicy one and the oil n salt) were great. Ye dang has the best dips to rub on to the meat before eating.

Good service too.

I have nothing much to say but I love Ye dang. I did not expect my kids to like their food, but they did.

We go to this place at least once a month. The last time i went there was not too good. The lady overcooked my meat :( so it was tough. I had to spit out the meat because it was too tough to chew.

But i forgive them since it was just one time. Lol... i will still go back

This korean restaurant serves very delicious and authentic korean dishes. Their barbecue pork is especially yummy and delicious. What I like about this place is that they have a lot of yummy side dishes which they will serve at e beginning of your meal. I actually find myself very satisfied with the side dishes alone.

Ye dang is one of the best korean places in Ortigas. I like their grill beef belly, roast pork belly and their rice cakes in hot sauce. Their meats are very soft and has a nice mellow sweetness to it. Me and my wife usually order several of these as one order is usually not enough for us. I also like the fact that they have a ot of yummy appetizers that they serve at the start of your meal.

Ye Dang is quite popular among those foodies who love Korean food. It's a shame that I haven't been here before
since it's so near to my workplace. Oh well...

We started with Pajon or Seafood & Beef with Green Onion Pancake (Php 300) and Bibim Nengmyum or Spicy
 Cold Noodles (Php 250).

Pajon is quite simple yet filling. A insisted that I try the Bibim Nengmyum so I did.
I liked it a lot, because it wasn't so spicy and I need my carbs. :P

We also ordered Japchae (Php 300) and Tteokbokki (Php 300).

The Japchae wasn't as impressive as I expected but the serving was generous. The Tteokbokki could be more
 exciting though.

For grilled meats, we had the LA Galbi or Sweet Beef Ribs (Php 400) and Dak-Gui or Grilled Chicken (Php 300).

There wasn't any dessert on the menu, but they served us pineapples.

Ye Dang is one of the go-to places for Korean barbecue cravings. The dishes were delicious, but could be better. However,

the prices were very reasonable. I'll probably visit again should I crave for something grilled.

I've suggested this place to my parents because of my friends' recommendations but it's my first time eating her.

I couldn't stop getting servings of chapchae and their kalbi gui. We've been Kaya aficionados so this is new territory. Ye Dang's menu is not as extensive but I believe it's cheaper. You'll get your money's worth.

We were only six but we like trying out everything thus the tables full of food.
Side note: their exhaust looks like the vacuum from Telletubbies haha

My one and only fave Korean restaurant. I always go back to this restaurant. The owner is very nice and welcoming, too. Deffo recommend the dolsot bibimbap and any of the meat selection. If your tummy can still handle more food, try their japchae and kimchi chigae.

I was never a fan of Korean cuisine but Ye Dang made me change my mind. I could barely tell anything specific because I don't know much about the food they serve. All I know is that I enjoyed dining here with my friends. :)

Quality variety on the menu makes this place a must. Everything is good and they have a special mix they can do with the soju to make your eating experience more pleasurable. Be ready to smell like bbq after but worth it.

My korean go to place in Manila!!! Good food - order their beef selection. Their pork is not consistently good though. Service pretty good if you get to have the expert ones cook for you. If not you might get burnt beef hehe. Their pajeon is good too!! For vegetarians, my sister would recommend their spicy tofu soup!

Authentic korean food. One of the best around the metro! As someone who has specific standards in tasting foreign food locally this takes the cake! The food was top notch! The best korean barbeque in town!
