Perfect pizza crust, and generous with the toppings. The Superoni is delicious, and the Frutti di Mare pizza too. They invite you into the kitchen to make your own pizza, which is a real treat for the kids. And the service is warm and attentive. I love that we finally found a great neighborhood pizzeria to make into a family tradition.
Everything we ordered didn't disappoint. My fave is Alvin's pizza though.I enjoyed watching my friends make our pizza and the place was very homey.I'm glad I did not miss out on this one.
I will rate 6 star ..nice food and selection of wine .love the dining crew ,nice food service ..thank you for teaching me how to toss my pizza by the pizza maker especially the chubby guy

I love the place, I love the food and I love their service!
I'm in love with their Pasta Sardines! I can have this the whole day and their pizza was one of a kind. So tasty! This place is perfect for simple and festive gatherings. They will take care you and I will definitely be back.
Thank you Amare! Cheers!
A must for pasta and pizza lovers...Great food indeed!!! The best italian resto in Baguio is now in Kapitolyo!!!
Sardine pasta is the best, paired with their super yummy wood-fire oven 🍕
Sobrang sarap sa Amare La Cucina, I'm not into Italian cuisine but I enjoyed their dishes lalo na ako yung gumawa ng sarili kong pizza, and yes they'll allow you create your version of their pizzas and it was my first time to do it. I also love the pasta dishes. I recommend this to everyone especially for family, matutuwa ang mga kids. 😎😍 thanks Amare La Cucina, I'll see you soon for sure.
Thank you for a good service that you offer to us, all of the crews doing their job well, I enjoy also how will you treat your customer to make their own pizza,, interesting restaurant to bring your family or barkada to eat and learn how to make their own pizza
Carbonara seals the deal. The speculoos pizza a mere cherry on top. Italian in the most unpretentious of places
Great ambience, on the pricier side considering it’s in the Kapitolyo area but definitely gives you a bang for your buck. Love the brick pizza and good thing it comes in so many different variants. Will come back for the wine though!
Light and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside -- my kind of pizza crust. I also loved the desserts!
Love all the pasta dishes especially the Ragu Bolognese & the Sardine Pasta! Pizza is really good coz of the crust! Everything is portioned generously & service is good! Definitely one of my favorite restos in the metro!
Their pizza bread is the best! Love the prosciutto pizza and arrabiata pasta.
Great food. Price is good. Great service. Cozy-warm ambiance. Serving size is good for two for pasta while pizza is good for three...or two if you're very hungry
Love their pugon pizza - just the right softness and crispiness of the dough, and their delicious toppings, as they don't scrimp on ingredients. Best pizza I have tried so far. :) I love their salad, too, and its touch of sundried tomatoes.
I love that they can teach you to make pizza, too, especially for kids and kids-at-heart. Will probably try it next time. For now, I was just contented watching the staff and a friend make a pizza. :)
Best pizza in Baguio! Now also the best pizza in Manila! =)
Its a great cozy pizza place...love the food! Will be back again soon..
Best pizza ever!❤ ilove all food and it was a great dining expirience 💛 cozy ambiance🥰
5 star for you guys🖐⭐
Had dinner with the partner. You'll be greeted by a brick oven upon entering. The place is nice, but a bit dark. We ordered the Pizza con Prosciutto and Marinara Pizza. The pizzas were very good. Service was fast and friendly. Price is good for crafted pizza. Parking available.
I lab the food here in amare la cucina😘😘😘

I ordered for tre formaggi with additional broccoli, bacon, onion, arugula, mushroom and bellpeppers. It was so good, the flavor of the plum tomato with mozza, cheddar and parmigiano with herbs will make you come back for more!!!!And you can make the pizza that you ordered, isn't that wonderful!!!Not just for kids,it's for all ages.Spicy seafood pesto for pasta,is what i ordered.I love the pesto sauce on the spag noodles that is a little spicy topped with shrimp and squid rings, that is served hot.The staff we're very friendly and suggestive on what i should order. The ambiance and interiors was nice, the bricks on the walls. And don't forget the wide array of wine selections that are displayed together with plates that we're signed by celebrities, players, and some politicians as well. You can pair your orders with their healthy smoothies, slushes or milkshakes. They
also serve local and imported beers, and
cocktails! After having their speculoos, grab a hazelnut latte hot or cold. What an italian experience and ambiance you'll be having at Amare La Cucina Kapitolyo,Pasig. Will be definitely be coming back for more delicious food that they offer!
The Best Pizza int he philippines! Super love it!
Wala kang katulad amare!
We ordered 3 pizzas on grab food, they were all very good but the best one was the wagyu one.
One suggestion for improvement is to add more argula at the prosciutto pizza and when adding it as an extra. For the price I think it would be fare.
Their creamy potato soup was superb! Definitely will be back in here😊

Truly the only Italian place I eat at in Manila. The pizza was soooooooo good! Definitely try their salads and pasta too! Great quality of food 💯
Our favorite place to be!
My boyfriend had lunch here last 2019 and celebrated our first day officially as couple. Turned out we always celebrated special occasions here!
Tre Formaggi is a classic and all time favorite. But really, try any pizza/pasta! It won't disappoint!
Also, shout out to Kim and the rest of the servers! Super bait and always smiling!
Easy choice in Kapitolyo for pizza and pasta cravings. Whatever cheese combination they use on their pizzas, it is one of best I have tasted! We always try to order new items whenever we visit and my recommendations are: Wagyu Pizza, Wood Fired Ribs and Ragu Bolognese.
I am not an Italian foodie but I was pleasantly surprised and "full-filled" by the great food here. We ordered Chewy Four Cheese Pizza, the Salad with walnut and Arugula and Baby Back Ribs! The Cheese appetizer and Their Nutella Pizza is a must-try!
I keep coming back to this restaurant because the food is really awesome. Everything on the menu tastes great, quality is consistent! Mi Amore Amare!
The new items in their menu did not disappoint.
The 6-cheese pizza was cheesier than ever! Order honey on the side for 50 bucks and experience that sweet and salty flavorful taste. Their truffle pasta tasted like the one in Mamou! It was cooked al dente and the aroma and taste of truffle were undeniable. We really loved it. Surprisingly, the barbeque chicken was so crunchy and the meat breaks off the bone easily. The yogurt dip that came with it was delish but i think they should downplay its garlicky taste.
There were indeed a lot of surprises in this place. Will definitely eat here again, no doubt! ❤️ #cheKKit #truffleva
Was surrise with this rest. Loves the pizza as well as the pasta. Will go back here definitely to try more
Friendly staff, good food. I like their pizza dough—chewy and tasty with that charred flavor. I wish they would clean up their bathroom more since it’s located at their outdoor area it lacks sufficient ventilation and the surroundings are quite dirty. Ruins the whole vibe of the place to be honest.
Will definitely be back! Loved the food — rich, authentic flavors. We had the carbonara, mozzarella antipasti and italian sausage and mushroom pizza. Everything was good! Can't wait to try the rest of their dishes.
Food - 3.5/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Value for money - 4/5
I've been wanting to try this place a long time
What we ordered:
Ala Gamberi (P375): The spicy tomato sauce on this pasta is really good. It just a has a hint of spicy and the tanginess of the tomato sauce is on point.
White pizza (P420): a bit downer, we felt that this pizza lacked some flavor. We still finished it though!
I would still like to go back to Amare for their pasta and give their other pizzas a try.

The best pizza and pasta place in Kapitolyo. The price is worth every bite. Staff are friendly, ambiance is peaceful. You get todo your own pizza from dough to brick oven. All pastas we ordered are delightful. If you want a budget frie dly romatic date place, this is it.
Making your own pizza was quite the experience. You get to toss the dough and apply the sauce and toppings. The staff were friendly. Best dish would be the pizza.
For the 2+2 drinks, it has to be all the same drink. Unlike other stores where it can be 2 diff drinks that are 1+1.
Celebrated father’s day here and it was actually a great idea. The food was definitely great and the kids loved that they were able to prepare our pizzas! The pizza was delicious but another highlight would be their ribs 🤤
I was blown away how good they prepare such dishes. Pizza was divine. The dough was the right combination of chewy and flaky. I could almost sniff how fresh it is. The cheese, the sauce, everything was delicious and fresh. We've also ordered aglio olio for good measure and that too was a strong candidate for one of their best dishes.
I'm writing it down while I'm slouched in a coffee shop since I ate so much carbs that my body is dragging me to do nothing but daydream about this place.
All their pizzas tastes great. I've been eating here and highly recommend it. It's also a plus that you experience making the pizza you'll eat yourself (just dont drop the dough) 😉
First time to eat here yesterday. We ordered their Truffle Pasta and Pinoy Boy Pizza (good for 2-3 persons). We were surprised when the server asked us if we want to make our own pizza (I'm not sure if this is a regular thing. Forgot to ask the server). We said yes. The people in the pugon area were all friendly and enthusiastic in teaching us how to stretch the dough and putting all the toppings. It's definitely a unique experience having to see your uncooked and cooked pizza. Pizza tasted great, while I wanted a little more of truffle-ness in the pasta. Nonetheless, it still tasted good. Servers were also very attentive. Will definitely come back to try some of their other mouth-watering dishes. Great food, great experience!
Staffs are friendly. They let my son toss our ordered pizza. Loved the food! Especially the white pizza and carbonara pasta. Yum! Free parking and good ambiance.
I enjoyed making my own pizza and of course trying it. It was a fun experience tossing the dough til placing ingredients on it. Feels like a chef.
Go-to for Italian classics! They will even offer if you want to try doing your own pizza, which is quite an experience! The pizza and pasta tastes so clean that it's so satisfying. 😊
We have been to the baguio branch and the food was amazing! Nothing beats a pugon cooked pizza talaga! Good to know meron ng branch sa kapitolyo so that we dont have to travel far para sa masarap na pasta at pizza! The serving sizes were just right plus with the food quality, sulit na sulit sa presyo.
Keep it up Amare!
Crunchy crusts, soft, chewy pizza! Flavorful dishes! Recommended this place to my family and friends and they all loved it!
Welcoming staff and prompt service. 👍
Definitely a must try for pizza lovers! 💯
Super love the food at this resto. For the quality of the food that they serve, I thought the price was very reasonable.
I highly recommend the Pizza Con Prosciutto and Tre Formaggi!
SERVICE: Very fast! their staff are all attentive and efficient.
FOOD: Pizza (4/5) Pasta (3/5) we ordered the truffle pasta but it seemed to be bland and I can't taste any truffle in there 😪 It was more of a creamy pasta, period.
Ambiance: Cozy, quiet, clean, and date friendly.
Cocktails: Priced right but seemed to lack alcohol. I got the strawberry mojito and I rate it 3/5
My boyfriend and I went here for our Valentines Day dinner date. The place is open for reservations and accepts delivery thru GrabFood.
Wagyu Pasta is a must try while the Pasta ala Carbonara was, for us, average in taste.
Even though the place was crowded that night, service crews were attentive, and even kind to accomodate our requests.
We had a great night. ❤️
If you like good ambiance, good food, and good service, this is the place to be. Pizza is the food to go to paired with their house wine. if you want to ‘’play” with your food before dining, this is an experience you don’t want to missed out
We got the margherita pizza but forgot which pasta this is (looks like carbonara). The pizza crust was chewy but a little bit too toasted at the bottom that it was giving a bitter taste. The pasta was not so bad too. We also got the ribs (not in photo) that was alright. It’s nice to bring kids here since you can make your own pizza.
A destination restaurant in this neighbourhood.
I came here to try my hand at twirling pizza, and they taught me two methods. It was SO much fun.
After shaping the pizza, they carefully added the toppings and slid my pizza into their brick oven, and it came out perfectly. The cornicione was gorgeous and delicious.
The carpaccio sort of lacked in flavour (where was the olive oil?), but there was plenty of pizza to eat.
Must come back here soon. I love the pizza!
Finally got a chance to try this place last Saturday evening for dinner. The first thing you'll notice upon walking up to the restaurant's entrance is their pizza corner, with their brick ovens. No wonder why they have a section dedicated to making pizza alone, because Amare La Cucina offers its diners to make their own pizza!
We ordered Alvin's pizza which was a pleasant surprise as it was not your typicall cheese or tomato base but instead, the base for this pizza was a special basil sauce. The wait staff had asked if I wanted the crust charred or the normal and after a few moments of debating with myself, I picked charred. The crust wasn't too hard and had just the right amount of crunch. (Note to self: Must try the normal crust when I come back)
We also picked orzo for our pasta, which was rice shaped pasta and which was a bombshell of flavors. I love that the garlic notes hit you as soon as you taste your first fork or spoonful of the dish. It was simple, yet very very packed with flavor.
I will definitely make sure to come back and try their other pastas and pizzas.
The pizza here is vying for the title of being the best in the Philippines! Closest contenders for me are Raffaele and Motorino. But in many ways the overall experience here every time is just awesome.
We're avid fans so this review may already be too late. Just the same. Great service. Great food. 😍
Service is excellent! Pasta is bomb! Ribs are superb. Pizza could use a little more flavor; it’s a bit bland. They bake their pizzas in brick ovens over firewood—that’s something! Place looks good. Overall it’s a good experience.
Wonderful food and good service. The pizza’s dough was very chewy. Will definitely recommend this resto to my family and friends! Everything was excellent.

I was expecting a bit more on their pasta especially the carbonara, it was savorless for me, but the ragu was great! And the gamberi it was well seasoned. The pizza was always the star here it never fails we ordered hawaiin, sausage and pep, oh the pesto!!!! It was definitely the pizza in town!
I always go for their bbq ribs, bacon-topped carbonara and pepperoni pizza! Their gelatos are also delish 🍨 Servers are always polite and friendly.
Make your own pizza!
Product: Amare La Cucina is an Italian restaurant that serves mostly pizzas and pasta. I love that they offer you the option to create your own pizza. They basically give you a kit with a ready-made dough which they will teach you to flip until it's thin enough. Then they give you sauce and the right amount of toppings for the pizza you ordered.
We ordered Ala Carbonara and Ragu Bolognese. You can choose which pasta you want your sauce to be partnered with. We ordered fettucini for the carbonara and spaghetti for the bolognese. The servings are good for 2 people but if you order 2, about 5 people can share altogether.
The Ala Carbonara (Php 285.00): had a generous amount of bacon on top. It definitely helps enhance the flavor of the sauce which was light. I would probably recommend they put more of the bacon oil in the sauce so it would be a little saltier.
The Ragu Bolognese (Php 330.00): is basically your classic spaghetti order. It's good for kids who don't want to try anything unfamiliar. It's not that salty but it's definitely Italian.
We also got some Chicken Skewers (Php 340.00): when we asked they said that there were 6 chicken pieces and we think we expected more because what we got was 2 sticks of 3 small red meat chickens put together. I don't know why I expected 6 chicken sticks but I guess that's on me. Well, at least it helped with bringing more flavor to our pasta orders.
For the pizza, we had Sausage Pepperoni Mushroom (Php 495.00): they said it was good for 4 people but we 5 had more than enough. You can ask them to cut it enough for how many people are in your party. I loved how fresh it tasted. Besides the fact that we made the pizza on our own, there was that distinct freshness that the tomato sauce provides. Every bite is just so... well, refreshing. I don't think I've had any pizza just like it.
Venue: Amare La Cucina is located in Kapitolyo. It's in the middle of all the houses and restaurants where everything looks like they're inside a subdivision. The restaurant itself looks like a house and the inside is similar to what you imagine an Italian restaurant looks like. You can even get a glimpse of their brick fire oven as you enter and watch the chefs or customers make the pizzas.
The servers are very friendly. They assist us with everything we ask for and they answer our questions about the menu with a warm smile. The service was also very quick. We only waited around 10 minutes for our orders to arrive.
Buonissimo!! As close as you can get to Italy! Love the texture of the pasta and love their oven-brick pizza. If you’re a coffee and dessert lover, don’t miss trying out their Affogato! Can’t wait to go back at Amare La Cucina! Staff are friendly and helpful, too! Look for Apple!
Last night we went out to watch a movie in Glorietta, but after the movie some of the restaurants/food chains were already closing so we decided to go in a different place to have our (late dinner)
Since it was already 10 o'clock in the evening most of the restaurants will be closing soon (based on the restaurants' info in zomato)
After 30 minutes of driving and searching we decided to check up around kapitolyo since we regularly pass by and we were sure there were tons of undiscovered restaurants available.
Then my partner saw this restaurant in zomato.
At first I thought it would be pricey seeing the location and the ambiance and honestly, I was impressed.
The ambiance had that Italian aesthetic and vibe to it, from their "unfinished brick" wall design to their "minimalist" wine shelves, it was really pleasing to the eyes and you would really feel that you're in a 5-star restaurant.
They also have a separate area for people who smoke so it will be convenient for both smokers and non-smoker.
Their employees was honestly one of the most approachable & kindest servers I encountered. They will assist you if you have troubles in deciding what you want to order and comply to your needs. And they will always serve you with a smile which I think is one of the most important part when serving your customers.
Food-wise, their pasta was THE BEST I had, it was so creamy and tasty with the shrimp! I really appreciate the consistency of their sauce and their pasta's portion.
Their pizza was also delicious, it was toasty on the crust but the pizza itself was really soft with the cheese oozing out again, the proportion and amount of serving of the toppings was excellent!
What I appreciate the most is after paying the bill and receiving the receipt, they show appreciation to their customers by simply writing "thank you :)" on the receipt it surely makes you feel valued and recognized by the kindness you show to those who served you.
Overall, their food is very much affordable and reasonable. Ambiance and service quality is on top!
I could say that this is now one of my go-to resto and I would definitely go back for more!
Food (4); Service (5); Ambiance (4); Price (4). It’s Sunday lunch and place was packed. Parking was tough since the place is in front of Holy Family Parish Church. It’s also a bit warm in the restaurant since it was 36C outside. We had Wagyu Pasta in olive oil, arabiata, and 4 cheese pizza. Olive oil pasta was a bit bland. I think that the water used to boil the pasta should be saltier (as salty as the sea) especially for an olive oil based sauce. The Arabiata was okay (but could benefit form a tastier pasta. The 4 cheese pizza was good but the dough was a bit undercooked. I observed that the pizza boys were punching holes in the pizza probably to get more heat in the middle of the pizza. Maybe somebody complained that the dough was undercooked in the middle. Or maybe the dough was not thin enough. Or brick oven was not hot enough. I saw they used the oven to cook other stuff....
Amare La Cucina
Where to go next to satisfy your cravings with your favorite Italian dishes?
Amare La Cucina is one of the awesome finds around Kaptiolyo, Pasig City. It is located at 91 East Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo, Pasig City. It comes with great interior designs plus the bricks on their wall are very classy. The place is perfect for romantic dates.
I had an amazing dining experience here at Amare. You should not miss their sumptuous food and it is highly recommended for family lunch/dinner dates and barkadas. Here are my favorite dishes that you should try:
Pasta(s)
Al Arrabiata is my top favorite. It is consists of spicy tomato sauce with bacon, garlic, parsley, paprica and parmigiano reggiano. It tastes good. Yes! It’s yummy! I haven’t tried anything like this before. You should also try their Rogu Bolognese, it’s stuffed with juicy slow cooked ground beef, italian sausage and bacon. It is meaty and superb.
Pizza(s)
Of course! You must have their pizza(s) which is best pair for their pastas. My personal favorite here is their Alvin’s Pizza, to be honest, this would be the first time that I tasted a pizza like a pesto. This pizza is made from homemade basil suace, mozarella, bacon and parmigiano reggiano. The smell is awesomely Ugh! I feel so solved with this because of the dough used in it. Another recommended pizzas are: Al Frutti De Amare, Superoni and Pizza Con Prosciutto.
I also tried their Chicken Skewers. This one is not a typical meal in an Italian Restaus. Well, its delicious and juicy. It’s like a chicken barbeque with veggies. I also have their Wood Fire Ribs with veggies. So tender and juicylicious! You should have some rice when you try this.
Dessert(s)
The day will not end without trying their sweets. I have tried their nutella pizza and roasted mallow speculoos. These two are very appetizing. First time to see a dessert on a dough. Not typical, but it’s highly recommended. I enjoyed these two, but my top favorite is their Nutella Pizza, the icecream adds flavor to it and it’s heavenly!
What I loved with this place aside from the interior designs and dishes is their service. Their crews were attentive and very accommodating. This would be one of the reasons why I should go back here.
One of the prominent restaurants in Baguio is now in Manila. Whoooo!!!!
I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family. Come visit them at Kapitolyo, Pasig City. They also have another branch in Baguio City.
PS:
I enjoyed as well the DIY Pizza. Their staffs were amazing and very friendly! *High-Five* Keep it up!
Just another pizza place. Can skip. I'm underwhelmed, to be honest. Food is okay, pizza is okay. For me, the real winner was the shrimp pasta.
If you are looking for great pasta and pizza, this place is a must! Finally, an italian resto near our place. Service is quite good, i just don't know if it's the same when it's rush hour. But overall, the ambiance, food, and service are super great! I think 1 con would be the paking ;)
For me, Amare serves the best pizza in town because of their dough! For the sake of reference and comparison, I have to say that I used to like Gino’s so much because of it’s crust but Amare just gives really you the perfect and freshest chewy dough.
I’m very frequent in Kapitlyo area not just because I love to eat but because some of my friends reside around the area and I actually work nearby. Hence, I pass by Amare La Cucina often enough to really make me think where did I first see/try the restaurant? Until I read that it originated from Baguio. I make sure to visit Baguio yearly for just the mere reason that I love it, and actually the food scene. LOL. Not sure if I tried their branch in Baguio but am pretty sure I got to try the branch that opened here in Manila.
Amare La Cucina’s facade is very simple but when you try to come closer, you’ll see where the magic happens with their pizza. And when you step in, you’ll definitely feel the coziness and plain elegance that there is. And I should mention how clean and spacious the area and I think it’s ideal for a corporate event. There is an outside seat as well probably for people who want to smoke.
The service. The staff are very accommodating and with all smiles. I love that they are attentive and they really pay attention to their customers which is a must for every restaurant. Kudos for the restless assistance for us to achieve what we want to happen with our ‘pegs’ in our food shots.
The food is on point and on brand. Without any form of exaggeration, every single dish I’ve tried is a MUST try. All the pizza they served were glorious even the simplest flavor with lots of pepperoni, though my favorite is the Alvin’s. And I think it also worked pretty well for them since they have their own dough which is perfection!! We got to try different pasta as well. Not sure if it’s good for sharing but I know it tastes so good that it’s only good enough for me! LOL!
The Chicken Skewers and Wood Fire Ribs on one note are some of the food the served that I was not expecting, probably because I don’t usually eat/order these in in Italain restaurant. But guess what? It was another blockbuster! Need I mention the major major (insert venus’s voice) Mozzarela Dip that is heavenly!!
All the way from Baguio, Philippines, the 3-year old Amare La Cucina expand the delightful Italian treats through its newest branch here in Metro Manila. Yes, you can now experience Amare without heading to the North as their newest branch in Kapitolyo, Pasig will surely bring the best of your Italian favorites.
The place looks casual with nice and elegant set-up. Spacious and bright. Upon entry you will noticed the Brick-oven where they cooked the pizza and some of the bestsellers. By the way, you can also make your own pizza if you want to...
We were served 4 different pizzas, pork ribs and some of the bestsellers of the restaurant during our visit at Amare La Cucina.

All the dishes we had were great. And my favorites were Marianne’s Special, Superoni, Al Frutti Di Mare and Roasted Mallow Speculoos Pizza. The dishes were flavorful and tasty. Not to mention, I had the best Pepperoni pizza so far. Superoni is to die for and it’s a must try dish for somewhat called “the first timer”.
Overall, I had a great time at Amare La Cucina. Looking forward to try the Baguio branch soon. And kudos to all the staff and management for providing excellent service during our visit.
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤️
Was lucky to be invited to Amare La Cucina's opening of it's 2nd branch in Kapitolyo. I didn't know that they're popular in Baguio and had never seen their restaurant when I visited there. They pride themselves with their in-house made dough and wood fire brick oven pizza which they made by themselves similar to their Baguio branch.
We had Chicken Skewers P340, Wood fire ribs with veggies P395, Ala Sardines P265, Aglio E Olio, Superoni Pizza P550 and Pizza con Prosciutto P540. For drinks we had their Mint Iced Tea P85.
The Pastas had a hefty serving and is good for 2 in my book. The Ala Sardines had al dente spaghetti pasta with parmegianno regianno and topped with sardines. The sardines with the parmegianno was the clincher of flavors. Next up was the Aglio E olio, which was garlic, olive oil, chili flakes and freshly grated parmigiano reggiano. The chili flakes works well with the olive oil and parmigiano making it a delectable pasta. The chicken skewers were juicy and savory although I find it a bit on the expensive side for me since I've been on experimenting with grilling and roasting chicken and with that money I can make my own. The wood fire ribs with veggies was a unique dish since I didn't expect their ribs to also be cooked in the wood fire brick oven. The ribs were tender, sweet and delicious although the taste of the ribs was good but I had better ribs in other restaurants. The Superoni Pizza was delicious especially if youre a pepperoni lover like me. It was chuck full of pepperoni toppings tomatoes, cheddar and mozarella. I also liked their Pizza con Prosciutto, it was a bit on the salty side but the right amount for me. The nutty flavors of the arugula complemented well with the oregano, olives and prosciutto ham.
Their freshly kneaded pizza from their in-house made dough was their blockbuster and main point of the restaurant. Another one was their wood fire brick oven that can reach up to 480 deg. celsius. They use a specific wood type so the dough also gets a subtle taste ( i forgot what it was).
We were given a chance to make our own pizza and they said it's a regular opportunity for customers to experience making their own pizza from scratch.
Price 5/5 - price to serving ratio was excellent considering the pasta is good for 2-3 persons. food was consistent all through out.
Service 4.5/5- appropriately staff to handle the lunch rush and gives out some good vibes
Food 4/5 - Food was good. I will come back for the pasta and pizza.
I also like the experience of making your own pizza.
Ambiance 4/5- ambiance was good, the place was well lit with minimalist aesthetic.
Amare La Cucina is one of the newest finds at Kapitolyo. You might think that they are another same same Italian restaurant but don't be misled - they may have something to offer that others don't and that could be their love and passion for cooking and serving food as the name implies.
We were just a small group when we visited the place. You'd love the brick wall designs and the mix of contemporary interiors and they can accommodate pretty much a very huge crowd. Also situated at the front are their two brick ovens that makes their pizzas well known in Baguio where they originally came from.
During our visit, we had a generous amount of pizzas, I mean it's like having one large sized pizzas for each of us just because we were so tempted to try all the flavors. We had the Superoni, Al Frutti Di Mare, Pizza Con Prosciutto, and Alvin's Pizza that is named after the owner's brother. Of course the Superoni is the common Peperoni style pizza but what I noticed about their version is that it has a more cheesy taste where everyone really enjoyed. They actually have a workshop or rather a DIY pizza and my fellow foodie was the one who made the Superoni given the actual ingredients making it from dough kneading to pizza tossing, spreading the toppings until shoving it inside the oven. The pizza dough is of good quality and they cook it perfectly each time. Going back to the pizzas, I can honestly say that all the flavors we tried were equally delicious. I took some Al frutti Di Mare at home and it still had the same texture and taste. In case you'd ask, the Alvin's Pizza is made from homemade Basil sauce, mozzarella, bacon and parmigiano reggiano. This had a very refreshing aroma and balanced flavor.
Also we tried some of their Pastas such as Ala Sardines, Al Arrabiata and Ragu Bolognese. All three different kinds of pastas were made al dente. I loved the spicy one, Al Arriabiata which consists of spicy tomato sauce with bacon, garlic, parsley, paprika, and parmigiano reggiano. If you are into seafood pastas, the Ala Sardines is also a must try - light but still tasty. The Bolognese is stuffed with juicy slow cooked ground beef, Italian sausage and bacon - meatylicious indeed.
I almost forgot that they also serve specialty salads such as Marianne's Special - named after the owner's sister. It is a mix of vegetable salad with arugula leaves, caramelized walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes, topped with special dressing. It is fresh and I liked the plating which looked very appetizing. Something different we tried the Chicken Skewer which I don't normally see in an Italian cuisine and also Wood Fire Ribs with Veggies. I enjoyed these two very much that I was looking for rice to pair with. They are soft, tender and juicy at the same time especially the ribs which is also fall of the bones, sweet and Smokey. i truly recommend you try these on your visit.
Last but definitely not the least, we had a wonderful sweet ending. The desserts we tried were also made from the oven. The Nutella Pizza and Roasted Mallow Speculoos Pizza. I wouldn't think they were desserts when I didn't see the 2 scoops of ice cream on top of each. They were crunchy and sweet and addicting for me I could finish one pizza dessert.
So far so good and overall we had an awesome experience. Thanks for the great service and delicious food. I would come back for more. Kudos!
Welcome to Amare La Cucina from Baguio! Baguio's best pizza is now in Kapitolyo.
We had a couple of Corona beers to was down our pizza and pasta orders. Tre Formaggi 3 cheese pizza was scrumptious with rich mozzarella, cheddar and parmigiano reggiano. We had the chewy crust version. Wagyu Pasta was very good. Only disappointment was the extremely small bits of beef - more akin to ground beef instead of chunks. The plum tomato sauce and EVOO made the pasta extremely delicious.
2018 promises to be a year of new discoveries in the culinary world.
Last Monday, I was fortunate to have been invited to experience Amare La Cucina's Italian fare. I have been hearing a lot of good feedback from foodie friends and I cant wait to find out first hand if there was substance to the hype.
We were introduced to Ms. Fatima and Mr. Tristan, owners of Amare . We noted that the resto was not part of an international franchise and was home-grown from Baguio. Lucky for me they chose Kapitolyo for their second location. I just live a kembot away and can come back here with the family anytime hehehe
The resto itself had a homey vibe.. I loved the wooden floors and tables, brick walls juxtaposed by pristine white ceiling and a wall of rack of bottles of wine. The result evoked feelings of warmth and coziness.
Service was alert albeit unobtrusive which I liked.
We were served the following :
Marianne's Special P335
This is a good starter. Crisp green salad, caramelized walnut with sundried tomatoes are a nice touch. Vinaigrette was a secret recipe and tasted like an emulsion of reduced balsamic vinegar that was at once sweet with just the right balance of tartness. The titas of manila would love this hehehe.
Per Ms. Fatima, the salad was named after one of the owners of aMARe. She is the "mar' in Amare :)
Mozzarella Dip P290 with strips of pizza dough
I loved that their mozzarella was deliciously salty. The Mozzarella I know are usually bland. The dip went well with the chewy pizza dough which were made from scratch in the premises. Our piggery would definitely love this
Chicken Skewers P340
I dont know which part of the chicken this was but they were moist and flavorful, If it were me though for P340, I will just buy myself a whole roasted chicken. Two skewers of chicken although good sized are not value for money. But that is just me.
Wood fire ribs with veggies P395
Ribs were tender , delicious and sweet. 2 extra rice please :)
Ala Sardines P265
Spaghetti with sardines. Does not sound that appetizing I know. But once you taste its subtle flavors plus the al dente pasta, you will like it. I know I did. The parmegianno regianno did it for me
Al Arrabiata P285
Arrabiata had always been a favorite pasta. Spicy tomato sauce, bacon, garlic, parsley, paprika and parmigiano reggiano.
Ragu Bolognese P330
I like it sweet and tomatoey. It has ground beef, Italian sausage, bacon and parmigiano. Love that the pasta was al dente
Superoni Pizza P550
Pepperoni overload, tomatoes, cheddar and mozzarella, evoo and oregano.
Fruta di Mare Pizza P455
Mixed sea food, cheese, tomatoes, oregano evoo
Alvins Pizza P450
Pesto, mozzarella, bacon and parmegianno
Pizza con Prosciutto P540
The proscuitto was deliciously salty. The arugula was nutty. Olives are my favorite. The dash of oregano provided that unique subtle aroma and flavor
Mint Iced Tea P85
Refreshing and was served in a tall glass.
Summary :
Pizza :I loved their pizza dough. Perhaps having their own wood fire oven helps. Nothing beats the taste of freshly kneaded pizza dough cooked 900 F in the premises. Their pizzas are chewy and had that remarkable subtle flavor that went well with the toppings of your preferred pizza. Price were reasonable considering the size and quality of this iconic round Italian staple.
Pasta :
Although pasta were not made from scratch, they tasted delicious. They were consistently al dente and flavorful
Price : Price were reasonable considering the size of serving and the qualilty of the ingredients.
Service ; Cheerful and alert
All in all quite enjoyed lunch at Amare. Definitely bringing the piggery and handsome hubby in tow on our next visit
Amare La Cucina
Customer Service: 5.0
Awesome experience with the staff. Very alert and and consistent with their service.
Food Quality: 5.0
Best brick oven pizza hands down. Dough is on another level. Beef carpacio is also a favorite of mine. For salad I recommend the Marianne’s salad and for pasta the Sardines and Frutti de mare
Enjoy!
We really enjoyed the food we ordered. Pizza was delicious and were generous on the ingredients. Pasta was superb as well.
My niece demolished the cheesecake that we ordered for dessert and announced that she LOVED everything she ate (she’s seven and very picky with her food).
First, by East Capitol Street standards, the size of the place is huge! I like the ambience of the restaurant - very relaxing! Try the goat cheese pizza, it's really good!
The first ever branch open is in Baguio and it has been open for 4 years. It's loved by many residents from Baguio and visitors a like. A couple of avid visitors collaborated their newest branch in Kapitolyo.
I honestly judge a pizza by it's dough. I appreciate in-house made dough that gives the pizza it's character and the toppings adds taste to it. It was chewy and light that it's not full of oil and over powers the toppings on it. I honestly love it. Even if it gets cold for a bit it wasn't dry unlike other fast food pizza chains.
Pepperoni (Php 440)
Pizza con Prosciutto (Php 540) - my fave
Margherita (Php 340)
Pasta was cooked to perfection. Al dente with that ideal bite to it. The sauce completed the dish.
Ala Sardines (Php 265) - it was too spicy for me. hihi
Aglio E Olio (Php 225) - I liked this
If you get a chance, order this one too. Tender ribs covered with savory sauce. Just wow.
Wood Fired Ribs with Veggies (Php 395)
The kids can try creating their own pizza just let the staff know you are interested.
Limited parking though but still worth a visit. Planning to take my family since they love pizza.
Thank you Amare for having us.
Dahil nag-crave ako sa pizza at pasta, gora na!
Al frutti de mare pizza (P455) - masarap lalo na yung crispy crust, medyo bintin lang sa toppings.
Ragu bolognese (P300) - sobrang masherep! Di masyadong maasim at msyadong matamis unlik other restos, saktong sakto lang na mauubos mo isang bowl.
Aglio e olio (P225) - my fave! Sobrang daming garlic which I love.
Ala carbonara (P285) - masarap naman pero may umay factor, pero bawing bawi sa dami ng bacon. Bacon is life!
Over all, babalik balikan ko to for their freshly baked pizza and yummy aldente pasta.
The food is always delicious... Been here several times and I have never been disappointed. I love the Orzo. The pizza crust is so addicting!!!
You could tell that the dough of the pizza was of great quality. Also loved how I could experiment with different toppings and even make my own pizza. The staff was very well-trained and the service time was decent. My favorite thing about it was the ambiance - very cozy feel, air conditioned, and well-lit
Courteous staff, amazing pizza, cozy place... I recommend the treformaggi, foie gras pizza and sardines pasta although the other selections were delicious as well. 5/5 easy.
I was a bit disappointed on this one since I had high hopes for their brick oven pizza. I ordered their tre formaggi, which the waiter said was 4 cheese (shouldn't it be called quattro formaggi?). The waiter asked if we wanted to have it chewy/soft or crispy. We said crispy but ours came in chewy so I asked them to cook again. It came back still the same I think, probably their crust was just too thin (see my pics). The pizza was too soggy probably because of the oil from the cheese. There wasn't a lot of flavor, lacking also in tomato sauce. We felt it was just parmesan cheese and didn't taste other flavors/cheese. The crust was too chewy also.
For pasta, we ordered aglio olio and ragu bolognese. The aglio olio had a little too much garlic and for some reason had some spice to it. Bolognese was lacking in sauce but had generous amount of beef.
Service was good, it seemed like the waiters had good training in speaking to the customers.
Their facade needs improvement, the inside has a nice ambiance which you would not expect from judging the outside.
Grateful that this restaurant made it all the way from Baguio.
I only write good reviews for places where I feel I had a one-of-a-kind experience.
Fell in love with their pizza and pasta at the Baguio branch so I wanted to relive the good memories of a fantastic 3-day stay in the City of Pines by visiting their 2nd branch in Pasig.
The restaurant's facade is under construction. The entrance is not yet convenient but I understand completely.
Welcoming you is the all-too familiar brick oven, 2 of them in fact, at the left side of the entrance.
Spacious, modern but cozy and lots of tables and chairs for potential customers. It was a Monday, a 1st for their resto to open on that day.
Ordered the Sardine pasta with spaghetti noodles, Alvin's pizza, Mint iced tea and Choco mint gelato.
I was disappointed to find out that a lot of menu items were not available, including the type of pasta that I wanted. So I had to settle for Linguine, which I think made my experience just a little bit unsatisfactory.
The sardine linguine was al dente, with a little bite from the fresh garlic admixed to the sardine oil of the dish. Taste-wise, very sophisticated. But then again, if it were spaghetti noodles, I would've been very happy.
Next was Alvin's Pizza, which is a basil sauce-based pizza with bacon. They asked for my preference on the doneness of the crust. I preferred my crust to be chewy. My 1st bite was perfect. This crisp and yet chewy consistency in a brick-oven pizza is my new gold standard. When it comes to flavor, I didn't really taste much of the basil, but the bacon was light and I loved that it wasn't too salty. In retrospect, maybe I should've paired a tomato-based pizza with the pasta or the other way around. I wasn't able to appreciate all the flavor of the pizza because it didn't contrast well with the pasta. But definitely, this is one of the better pizzas out there that will give you bang for your buck.
The mint iced tea is just perfect in taste and quantity.
The mint chocolate gelato? Not noteworthy. Better get your gelato fix somewhere else.
Apart from my order mishaps, I still would rate this place a 4/5. This is definitely a place I would love to go back to from time to time because of their consistency with quality and service.
The food is really great. The pizza serving was bigger than expected. It wasn't too salty despite having sausage and pepperoni as toppings. Really yummy.
We also got the carbonara. It was more oil than cream but still really good. The bacon toppings are to die for. Wondering where I can get them.
Ambience is just lovely. The lighting is great and they have wonderful taste in music.👍
Glorious Italian resto that opened in the area! Finally Amare is in Manila! I love how fresh and simple the dishes are! I ordered the Foie pizza and added wagyu and anchovies and it was the bomb! The salad had superb portions for the prize and the pasta was al dente! I appreciated how attentive, friendly and warm the staff is too! Good job guys!
Food: The food is good and comforting, worth the price. The pizza is also larger than most Italian restos. I do wish the pasta had garlic bread.
Service: The staff are really friendly, especially the pizza cooks, who you can interact with as the brick oven area is open air at the front. They let me go inside the pizza making area to take better pictures of the oven :) When I ate there, they had a lot of trainee service staff on the floor, I assume because they haven't had their grand opening yet. They were a teeny bit overbearing but they were trainees after all.
Ambiance: Its a decently sized resto, with a nice design. The walls are cement and brick, with mounted street lamps. I really like the mural that divided the upper and lower areas, and the wall shelves of wine is a nice touch. The thing is that since the walls are mostly spattled cement, the sound really bounces off the walls, especially when there is a loud group of diners at the corner table (as there was when I was ate there).
Really so happy that Amare brought their pizza goodness to Manila! The best thing is it's about 200m away from our house :D There was even a time I thought of going to Baguio just to have a taste of Amare again. Hahaha
So I ate there last night and they did not disappoint! We ordered Pepperoni, chewy crust! So chewy, it's best enjoyed when rolled. The pasta is so al dente, so true to its flavor. Huhu so good! :)
Amare deserves a rate of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was never been a fan of pizza. I do eat it but it was never something that I crave for, not until...Amare.
At Amare, I found the perfect pizza that I have been searching for, they've got the perfect texture of dough, delicious tastes of fresh ingredients and much more.
Note:
You can also try their drink–a 'must try' is their Mint Iced Tea 🍹
