They really make the best coffee in the island. And the banana loaf? The best one I had in years! The place is very welcoming and people friendly and helpful! It definitely worths the visit!
A great place to chill :) Sarap ng coffee and food. :)
Great staff, very accommodating and respectful. Great place
I always bring my friends to this cafe. Great food and awesome coffee too. Price is good.
This little place in Kapitolyo houses a trove of beautiful vintage cameras. Those and bicycle related deco and good coffee. A very nice place for every mood: for catching up with friends or some alone time. I came here when I was still discovering my preference in coffee and glad I tried their salted caramel coffee.
What we ordered:
Cafe Americano
Cafe Latte
Humba Rice
What we liked:
The coffee that they serve tasted really well, especially when served hot. However, we were more surprised by the Humba, which was so soft and full of sauce. It's a must when one passes by or works within the area, and would want a cozy place to spend time.
Epic cafe is petite cafe in kapitolyo. Nice ambience but not really for bigger crowds. We tried the angus beef tapa with 2sunny side up eggs and it tastes really good. We also tried the humba visayan style pork with 5spices but the taste was too strong and salty. Not the humba that i expected. Their "long black" coffee tastes okay... their cold brew is also ok.

It was a rainy Thursday night last week and I'm searching for a place to stay for awhile and I saw this small coffee joint. I had no plans to eat thay time since I just finished dinner before I went to Kapitolyo. I ordered their Caramel Frappe to have something to drink while waiting. While my frappe is being prepared I've observed how spectscular their interior is. Can't describe it in words but you can see in the photos I've uploaded.
After a few minutes my frappe was done and served to me. It was love at first sip! The Caramel is outstanding, maybe the best caramel drink I had in years. This is a must try and speaking of trying, I'll comeback very soon here with my friends to try the foods they offer and other frappes and coffee.
My initial experience here is a perfect 5. Hope my next visit it'll be better and will update this asap.
Hot chocolate grande size is 5/5
Free 1 hr wi-fi
Power outlets by the wall
Polite baristas and servers
Bikes on display
Work/reading-friendly
Went here with a large group, about 10 people. It was a few hours before their closing time and they were able to accommodate us despite the cafe being moderately full. I love going here for the ambiance. Not all cafes can maintain peace and quiet.
A pleasant surprise tucked in the Kapitolyo neighborhood. The shop has got mixed reviews in Google Maps, but my wife and I still went to try out their coffee and have our late lunch, and we’re glad we did! Epic Cafe has a cozy Japanese-inspired ambience, with red-brick walls, wooden tables, and camera and bike displays.
For the coffee, we loved their iced mocha! I ordered their famous seasalt caramel but I found it too salty for my taste. For the meals, we ordered bacon and tapsilog. Both tasted great! And to cap off the meal, we got their choco fudge brownie. Super loved it!
I hung out here a lot when I worked in Kapitolyo. Epic is great, but I wouldn't recommend their desserts. Instead, try their sandwiches (their Pastrami Sandwich and Smoked Salmon Wrap are favorites) and their Flat White coffee. Their other breakfast items are good (e.g. Homemade Beef Tapa) but on numerous occasions those items were unavailable, so it got a bit frustrating and I stopped eating there.
Epic Cafe is Poco Deli's brother. So don't be surprised to see the Poco Deli sandwiches being sold here. Place is a heaven for bike and photography fans as it acts as a store for bikes and vintage camera gear. Coffee and cakes are good, but same as Poco Deli, this place is quite pricey.
Food - 4/5
Price - 3/5
Place - 5/5
Service - 4/5
I loved the simplicity of the place.
The food is great as well as the coffee. They offered coffee flavor that might suit you and they suggested a sweet one kc parang yun daw ako lols kaso I always love not so sweet with bitterness on my coffee.
Tapa is good and I finished everything in my plate 😊
I love this place! Coffee was perfect ❤️ and the food was great. I really enjoyed my breakfast this morning, which was also accompanied by great music. will def be back. 🥰
1. Caramel Latte (5/5)
- Best Latte I've had so far. Taste is deep and sweet and milky. Very balanced.
2. Belgian Cake (4/5)
- Paired very well with the organic green tea (Harney and Sons) they have.
3. Harney and Sons Organic Green Tea (5/5)
- I'm a fan of tea and I must say it's probably the best tea I've had in a while.
Been here once with my friend and we liked their vintage and rustic ambiance. We ordered sandwich and matcha latte and I must say that their matcha was one of the best we've tasted. Not too sweet and there's a bitterness in the last sip. Maybe they are using authentic matcha. They also have stable wifi. The area is not crowded, perfect for catching up with friends. Will come back here again.
Went on a quick coffee run so I didn’t have time to stay too long. Definitely loving the ambiance though, added bonus for putting out a sketchpad and crayons for customers. The latte I got wasn’t spectacular but it was good enough to get me through the morning. Definitely a place you could spend a quick detour in.
Great coffee for the price. It closes too early in my opinion (10pm). The wifi now has a time limit of 1 hour, frustrating as it is I understand that this is a business. Good place to hangout with friends, or enjoy a good book or study.
The ambiance is all that's perfect. Great place to bring friends and catch up about life in general. I will try to come back and check other drinks as so far I only had chocolate and matcha tea and they're a 3/5,
I like the cheesecake & affogato ❤ celebrated valentines here and its great bcs were the only one here. I like that it is not crowded. I enjoy my visit here 😊
If you are looking for a place to chill and relax with cool rustic ambiance, airconditioned place, Epic should be one your of your choices in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Enough of Starbucks! Try a new taste! ;)
MY RATINGS
Coffee - 4.5
Place - 5
Price - 4
It's very accessible and wazeable. :D They have parking too.
EPIC, from it’s name my expectations were very high buttttttt... their coffee didn’t meet it. The price is almost the same as other coffee shops sooooo, if you’re for the coffee I would’t recommend this place BUT if you’re up for the ambiance it’s a 5/5 for me. The place gives a homey vintage vibe. They also sell old cameras here!! :)
Summary:
⭐️ Coffee 3/5
⭐️ Ambiance 5/5
This is our go to cafe/coffee place, but lately I've been wishing for new local coffee shops to open in Kapitolyo. This time I ordered flat white, my wife her usual cookies and cream and oatmeal cookie. Flat white was just okay, seemed more like a cappuccino. I really don't like that they use disposable cups for hot coffee (not sure if only for large sizes). You can taste the paper cup and just ruins the experience. The cookie was too tough. But I like that they have options for their dessert.
Nice ambience, delicious foods, and great coffee! We ordered, grilled cheese, kielbasa and tapa meal. Awesomely delicious and full! Their best sellers are sea salt caramel and Epic frappe, it's worth a try. You should go here!
nice interiors and design of the place
coffee is good
employees are accommodating
over priced food, wish they can have more affordable foods w/o lowering the quality
didn't like the red velvet cake
The ambiance was very chill which I liked very much. Also, the display of vintage cameras gives the place a bit more ... personality? I don't know how to explain it, but yeah ahahaha. The only thing that concerns me though is not the food, but rather the staff. People want to be welcomed and entertained(you get what I mean) by cheerful employees. It's sad to say that I did not see at least one of them exhibit that.
Yummy coffee. Their smores coffee is really good. The ambiance is really nice. The servers are really nice. The location is not so good. Parking is hard to fine
Best Cake and Coffee.
What could I ask for?
Try their strawberry cake and rainbow cake ♥
Place usually gets full around late afternoon.
Try to go early in the morning to get the place quite and do some work 👍
Food 👌
Ambiance 👌
Value for money 👌
I love the ambiance, it makes me want to study or read a book. Good interior design. And I also love their coffee esp the caramel macchiato and love their cakes too 💕
It's our favorite place to go to for a sip of coffee and to take a break from the usual coffee shops. Service is fast and ambiance is great! They display a vintage collection of cameras, which are also for sale! The place is nice and quiet, perfect for a study session or a nice little talk with friends. I love how their cafe always smell like freshly brewed coffee beans all the time!!! I couldn't get enough of it! Try it guys! They serve rainbow cakeee 🍰🌈

I've been here many times and I still can't get over their coffee. Their Epic Blend is a must-try, and is great with their grilled cheese sandwich. Their match is not as legit tasting, but still better than the common "matcha" drinks.
Cute place, vintage theme - perfect for coffee drinkers' ambiance 😊
Will never get tired of ordering Sea Salt Caramel Ice Blended ❤ always coming back for this beverage! Wishing more branches to open here in metro manila
Honestly, I'm reviewing this just because of how impressive the place is. I love the ambience (its serenity) as compared to typical and mainstream coffee shops. Haven't had the chance to order anything because me and my friends meet up here for a dinner get together. I love the bicycles (yes, literally the real one) displayed at the end of the hall. Will definitely go back here whenever I need solitude. Or just to contemplate things in my life.
Always been my go to cafe when kapag malapit lang ako. I am really not a coffee person. But i do like epic's coffee.
Coffee: 4/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Will always come back!!
I really liked this place! Very cool and laid back vibe. Such a homey atmosphere with a great selection of coffee and blended beverages!
Could not study at all coz I kept getting distracted by the interesting decor and magazines!
#latepost
After having breakfast at Poco Deli, I was hankering for a good cup of coffee and my feet led me to Epic Cafe. When we stepped in, my first thought was: "Why does this place look like Poco Deli?" Turns out, the two have the same owner(s).
The staff who took and served my coffee greeted me with a "Good morning! Happy Mother's Day!" which brightened me up.
I ordered a large, extra hot Flat White and it was quite comforting on a Sunday morning. The cafe has wifi, & my son and I enjoyed the place for ourselves for a while before a couple of families came in.
Service is fast. My only regret is that my coffee was served on paper cup instead of a mug – I could've requested it, and it was wrong for me to assume that they'd serve (hot) coffee in a mug… I guess the nice atmosphere gave me the impression that they'd do that. So, lesson learned for me for next visit.
Really had a bad day today so i decided to meet up with the BF for some yakapsule to make my day better. Unfortunately, his classes end at 8PM--my work ends at 5PM-- so I had to wait somewhere. First cafe I thought of was Epic Cafe. Here are the reasons why:
👌 Ambience
This cafe is very conducive for getting serious with work or studies. It's quiet, the music is not so loud, has free WIFI, and has no distractions whatsoever. Plusss there is a guard manning the door so that's a major ✔✔✔ for me. It's rare to have one for such a small cafe. It shows you the care that the owners have for its customers.
👊 Quality
I am not a coffee drinker but that does not stop me from enjoying my stay here. Love love love their sandwiches. It is also vegetarian-friendly! Will have to try their choco drink soon.
Will definitely choose this over the big, commercialized cafes nearby.
Along East Capitol drive, this coffee cafe has first and foremost, great coffee! I like what they call the Epic Blend - mix of robusta and arabica. Perfect mix to keep you up and alert.
It is a good place to hold meetings as it has a ambiance. Parking is hard quite tough as they only have 2 slots. You'd have to be lucky or find parking around the area.
Desserts:
1. Carrot Cake - perfectly moist and perfectly sweetened. One of the best I have tried. 4.5/5
2. Pudding with Amareto sauce - the sauce could be a little thicker and/or sweeter 2.5/5
3. Rainbow Cake - this is very very good. The large slice, you can consume on your won. 4/5
4. Rocky Road - if you are a fan of chocolate cake, this is a must. The crust is also very good. Tastes like a crispy Oreo. 4/5
I have not tried their hot plates, but will certainly check it out next time.
This place is awesome! Together with my officemates, we stayed here for 8 hrs becuase it was too peaceful. The place is perfect not only for students who are looking for a place to unwind and enjoy but also for corporate workers who are finding a place to relax after a day full of workloads. For us, we recommend to try there epic frappe and cookies and cream. Regarding their sweets, Red velvet cupcake, blueberry cheesecake and fudge brownies are really a must-try :)
Went on a Kapitolyo food tour with my homies from foodsocietyph to partner with restaurants and come up with affordable packages for foodies to avail. Went to the area early prompting us to look for a cafe to get our caffeine fix. My friend Ruth suggested Epic Cafe and we went without hesitations. foodfanaticph goes to Epic Cafe with foodsocietyph!
It's a nice place to study even though there might be some people who'll be a little bit loud, their ambience would still make you read and study.
I used to frequent Kapitolyo when i was working as a night owl in Ortigas. When I say frequent, it is not synonymous to "i tried all of the restos" kind of thing. I go to Kapitolyo because of Eleven Tables. The joint that made me appreciate wine.
I am back after X number of years. This time it is different. Me and my homies are doing some recon work in the area. First stop is Epic Cafe. If my memory serves me right, they have been around for quite sometime. I remember passing by 'em before. I kid you not, Epic is a word that sticks to your memory.
Me and my homie Cla arrived a little after 9am. I pleasantly surprised with the lovely interior. I don't mean hearts and flowers when i say "lovely" 😀. It reminds me of Rosalee's Spice and Tea. Wood is predominant, from the furniture down to the shelves. I like the fact that this place is biker friendly (i assumed that it is due to the vintage bikes adorning the wall and they sell biker stuff too). And oh, they sell vintage cameras too 📷.
Grub x Caffeine.
I got my eye on the Lemon Cake. We got one slice to share and a cup of mocha for Cla. The lemon cake is really really good! The cake is moist and flavored with lemon zest. The icing is not overly sweet and has a tastes like lemon too. Don't let all the "lemon" discourage you as the sour element is just enough to tickle tour citrus fancy.
P.S Apart from the coffee, they also have savory dishes.

Not bad at all.
There were 11 of us and we couldn't finish 4 slices of cake and a brownie.
Strawberry cake - to die for! But you can't have too much of it
Fudge brownie - huge serving with just the right amount of moisture and bitterness
Belgian chocolate cake - how rich! And awesomely bitter
Strawberry cheesecake - aka bagoong cheesecake. Those strawberries really looked like bagoong but it was sincerely a cheesecake
Rocky road cheesecake - does not taste like either rocky road nor cheesecake. But it's not bad. It just doesn't meet your expectations. Should be called a mousse maybe
I didn't try the pastrami or the grilled cheese sandwich but my friends who did devoured them happily.
I'm going to have to eat there again to give it a better score. But for all desserts, a four should suffice.
This is a late review. Thank God that I have some saved photos from our visit.
My favorite, Cafe Mocha, was my drink for the day. I like the bitterness of my Cafe Mocha though I expect to be a bit sweeter. Their lava cake is a must-try! It blends well with their coffee - lasting bittersweet taste.
The ambience is great - air conditioning, lighting, and displays. I have to say that the bike hanging on the wall caught my attention. It like sending a message of uniqueness - "wanna try something new in a coffee shop?".
P.S. the space was not that big enough though to accommodate more number of people.
This cafe is so chill in the morning. The place is big too. If I live in Kapitolyo, I will surely be there most of the time. They also serve delicious looking cakes! Well I haven't tried it yet but it looks good! I ordered an iced macchiato only. The coffee is strong so I liked it. 👌🏼
A fine coffee shop with all day breakfast dishes from the group that brought us Poco Deli, Epic Cafe is a fine looking coffee shop. Nice modern rustic interior, lots of earth tones, and it's a place that's certainly worth hanging out in. I met up with friends here some time late last year, and we hung out for the entire afternoon here. They have wifi, too. Parking is limited though, with about 2-3 slots outside and maybe you get lucky with a parking slot across the street. This is on the same side as Ramen Cool and I think across the street from Charlie's.
I ordered their Tapa; at about P250, the quantity isn't bad. Plating isn't really their thing, but the tapa is solid. A bit sweet, moist and the beef is cut up in small pieces. Good flavor, though not necessarily memorable. 3/5
We also tried their rainbow cake (4/5) and another cake (sorry I forgot the name, but it's in the pic, rating 3/5) which were both pretty good. I also ordered their brewed coffee which tasted decent, medium roast. I wouldn't characterize this place as 3rd wave, but quite a nice cafe for those looking for the neighborhood coffee shop and not the usual cafe's you can find all over Metro Manila. I did recall that the tapa took sooooo long to serve so the kitchen was a bit slow. Otherwise, everything was good. Perfect for those looking to chill, have many types of coffee choices and dessert. Overall, it's a 3.5 star experience. It's been here for a number of years so I figure it's got a good following to be a steady venue among Kapitolyo residents and visitors alike.
We got the epic frappe & walnut brownies, and it's to die for! If you got the major sweet tooth then this is the perf place! The brownie is huge too, its so worth the money!
Coffee, cakes, ice cream and access to Poco Deli's menu! All that and a nice hipster feel of a café. What more can I ask for? You must drop by this piece of of paradise when you visit Kapitolyo.
This is such a great place to study.
The music is great, the ambiance is so relaxed and chill, the staff are accommodating, and the place is pretty. I've been here twice and the wi-fi is now relatively stable. I usually order their Frappes, and both their Sea Salt and Epic Frappe are worth a try.
I had Epic's signature Pour Over blend coffee! Not a legit coffee drinker LOL pero it was okay, no need for sugar or creamer.
We ordered their hyped Rainbow Cake (nothing special, maganda lang siya tingnan talaga) and their underestimated Strawberry Cake (SC).. PLEASE TRY their SC, twas super good... best SC tried so far..
Place is nice, problem lang sunlight was lurking through the area (better get some blinds?).. nakakasilaw mej!
I'll be back to try their other cakes hehe and teas!
Such a cozy and relaxing place to hang out especially after pigging out at a buffet nearby! I opted to have some tea, and their tea selections are yummy!!! I had the hot cinnamon spice, which was mildly sweet and absolutely delicious! My friends and I also tried their dark chocolate cake, which went well with our drinks. Not sure why, but the place made me feel like I was in a pub in the world of Lord of the Rings. :)
I loved how quiet this place is. I love coming here because of one reason...rainbow cake. Their rainbow cake is so good and no words can describe it.
Stopped by for coffee and dessert after a meal next door at Ninak. Surprised by the popularity of this cafe - seems to a favorite family meeting place in the locality.
One of the few coffee shops that offers Long Black. The barista explained me that in long black, the espresso is poured over the hot water that preserves the crema better than in Americano. Tasted pretty much like Americano to me, but good bean quality, nonetheless. My partner had the ice blended Sea Salt Caramel that was quite good.
We had a Caramel Cheesecake and a Strawberry Cheesecake. Both were topped with cream - tasted just ok.
Saturday morning, I had to look for a place to work which needs an internet connection. As I have search from Rappler, Epic is one of the few cafes which has steady free Wifi. I went and checked out the place. I ordered a cup of cappuccino and Beef Tapa!
As I've entered the cafe, cameras and bicycles welcomed me. Ambiance was good, even the place was to crowded. Furnitures are well made. Very homey! Yes, wifi connection is very strong.
Food.
Cappuccino was good. I expected it to be hot but it wasn't. Maybe I'll try another coffee.
Beef Tapa, it was one of the best tapa I've tasted so far. It is served with eggs (yes 2 eggs) and rice. I liked the tapa, very peppery though it is a bit sweet. Thanks to the barista who asked how the eggs should be cooked.
I should have stayed longer but my laptop is running out of battery and I didnt find an outlet.
I recommend this place for meetings, get together and a place to stay after a night out or after getting a meal on nearby reataurants.
I must visit again to this place again to try their sandwiches or cakes.
This café is known for its bicycle theme. It has a calm ambiance with good choice of background music. They offer cakes, sandwiches, coffees and ice creams. I’ve tasted 4 flavors of their coffees already but in my opinion, it doesn’t taste that good. The rainbow cake cost Php 200; and it’s just good looking. The crews were accommodating. What I hated is that the washroom has a bad smell that reached the tables near it. What I like here is the wifi but it wasn't stable. I’ve been here twice to study.
Update August 2017
Reliable wifi connection
Cool aircon
Good choice of playlist
Luvin' it here again! ❤
We ordered an Iced Sea Salt Latte, a hot cup of Almond Roca, and a slice each of Belgian Chocolate cake & Sans Rival. We didn't really like our drinks, but the cakes supersatisfied my übersweet case of chocoholism.😁 The Belgian has the densest chocolate ganache I've ever had. It can be ka-umay when you try to eat everything on the spot, but maybe eating it gradually at home will improve the experience, hehe. The Sans Rival was light and buttery-yum. ❤
the place is good. however, i've expect that there is atleast an available outlet to charge a laptop, etc. sadly, i was informed that they already remove all of it :(
Salute for the interiors, service, staff and their affogato. The ice cream they used their affogato is so so good! Their mocha and cappuccino is also good, cakes and other pastries are so tasty.
5 Stars for the Sea Salt caramel latte. The red eye coffee tastes great and is ideal if you need to stay awake for long hours. Great ambience, good service, reasonable prices.
Along East Capitol Ave, between rows of restaurants, you can locate this small cafe. The creators of Pocco Deli themed it to be a a green friendly place considering the number of bikes on the facade and part of the interior design. Seating capacity is only a handful of tables which I think is deliberate to create that calm ambiance for those having conversation or finishing their academic readings/papers.
The choices can only be seen above the counter lacking description so do not hesitate to chat up the staff if you want more detail on your drink of choice.
I felt a little bit random that day and picked the Epic frappe whose ingredients I did not ask for a certain surprise once I take a sip. I also ordered a choco walnut brownie which was displayed in a glass case. My girlfriend settled for a hot drink, a Almond rocca latte.
The Epic frappe has that delicious coffee taste with a after taste that I forgot to asl the barista. Nonetheless it was quite pleasant making it stand out from garden variety frappes served in other coffee shops. I got a taste of the Almond rocca latte and i would describe it as a sweet tooth's dream. Good thing I stopped myself from taking more sips it wasn't my drink in the first place. I appreciated also the almond taste which settled on my tounge after taking a sip. All of that was experienced while eating a few bites of the brownie which I would say is just an optional accessory to the experience.
My Epic Cafe experience while doing a bit of office work was some sort of destressing activity due to the beverage that accompanied those few hours
This is truly epic. This is not your typical café but some place you would surely want to stay for a long. Their artistic interior design matches their artisanal pastry and coffee offerings. You'll surely love their rainbow cake. You'll also enjoy their variety of coffees, be it hot or cold. I also like to commend their helpful staff - makes a good service. This café won't fail you.
Recommended coffee store in Kapitolyo. We had their carrot cake. It tasted good. It's not enough to share with another person. Price is 100. Great ambiance and design.
You go to a restaurant for the food and the feels. You go to a coffee shop for the drinks and the feels. Epic accomplishes both well. I just hope it was a bit cheaper.
I went here 7 months ago and it was really hard to get there. The map seems to have given me the wrong direction, but anyways enough of that. The place gives off the industrial unfinished look. I got a coffee and a sandwich and it was simply divine. The place is best for quick business meetings, small ones obviously.
After a good dinner at Gastropub, one of my friends recommended to grab a good cup of coffee here at Epic. Not knowing what to get, I heard the Barista recommending their Sea Salt Caramel Frappe for my friends so I also got one. The drink was nicely done and it was good. We also had a slice of Chocolate Cake and it was not bad at all.
After our quick stay, my personal restaurant rating for the restaurant:
Drink: 3.5
Service: 3.5
Place: 3.5
Happy Eating,
Foodie Day Out
The ambiance is quite vintage and not spacious. But the breakfast meal can be for sharing and also tasted good. Sea-salted caramel tastes well. Cakes are so sweet.
When we stepped in, we heard Christian songs are playing, we felt at home and calm. I love the place perfect for the concept of cafe. This cafe is not hard to find, because it is near at the gate of brgy. Kapitolyo. I ordered sea salt caramel perfect coffee it balanced the bitterness and sweet of the coffee. We also ordered the rainbow cake, not suit for young adult like me, before going we ordered their best seller sandwich, taste good. I hope madagdagan ng pasta yung menu nyo, I love this cafe so much ❤️ not too crowded. Will recommend this ❤️
I'm not much of a coffee drinker so this review would be more or less for their cakes. I was able to try a lot of their cakes and I can say that the pastry chef knows what they are doing. Interiors are nice and the place can comfortable seat around 50 customers. I guess the owners of Poco Deli and Epic Café (owned by the same owner) knows how to cook their food and coffee.
The ambiance is very different from other coffee shops, which makes it stand out in a positive way. The cakes, especially the chocolate and rainbow cakes, are to die for! A bit pricey, though.
Their sea salt caramel latte does not disappoint! You really have to try it.
I came here a last week while I was waiting for EDSA traffic to pass. It's a really chill place. It caters to a lot of students. I guess it is a pretty good place to study seeing that it's not too loud or crowded in there. The idea of bikes and coffee was pretty weird to me at first but they did make it work. Place looks great! They've also got a whole bunch of different desserts (cakes mostly). I tried their strawberry cheesecake, it was good. And they serve breakfast and brunch too!
Now, since I tried Silantro early in December, I of course had to try EPIC as well seeing that it was also on the list of the Top 50 food places that are to be tried this 2013. So off my friend and I trooped there but this time around, it was for a sandwich and coffee.
I ordered the turkey pastrami which turned out to be a really great choice. It was fresh. It was tasty. It was filling. It was what a sandwich should be. It was straightforward and without any of the add ons that other sandwich places put in just to make their food taste better. EPIC's sandwich was the real deal. Yes, it was a bit pricey but heck, it was worth it.
As for the coffee, I liked that even an hour later when it was just lukewarm, it still tasted good. The Cafe Mocha I had was also very simple and good. It felt like something my Mom would serve, if she had studied the art of making coffee and lattes and what not. I guess what I'm trying to say is that one sip and you feel like you're at the comfort of your home where you can just sit back and relax.
No wonder EPIC made it to the Top 50 eventhough there were so many food places that sprouted up all over the Metro. It was definitely a well deserved spot and if I ever see myself in the Pasig area once more, I'd definitely drop by.
Me and Mom went to Kapitolyo after our Sunday service.
We’ve been eyeing to try Epic Coffee Roastery at Kapitolyo, Pasig.
Since we saw that there are a few seats available inside, we went inside and tried to check it for the first time.
The contemporary wood interior design of the place is quite striking. Aside from tables and chairs, the counter, shelves and some adornment are nicely made of wood. I like how this whole wood setup is accentuated by brick walls.
Menu was written on chalk boards all over the cafe.
Mom ordered hot cafe americano then I had a cold Seasalt Caramel drink and we ordered their classic sansrival.
We loved their drinks and would definitely prefer it over starbucks.
For the sansrival, We expected that since it was named as "Classic Sansrival" this would have a crispy meringue. Yes, the cashew was there but the cake didn't have any crispy meringue in it. ( leaving the cake with just cashew, sugar and buttercream) .
Checked instagram and saw that rainbow cake was their best seller (But was not available that time).
At least their drinks did not fail and both tasted great.
On my next visit will definitely try more of their cakes / pastries.
Nice ambiance..with the bikes inside. Love the cookies and cream frappe. Good place to hangout since I'd be spending time here more often in the next months.
One of the best coffe shop that I've been..
-Cozy Place due to it's minimalist interiors
-Feels like home
-Nice furniture
-And most of all... There Coffee 😎😎😎
-Reasonable price, that will cost you for about 140-180 bucks for there coffees
Likes: Hot Sea Salt Caramel Machiatto, Hot Toasted Marshmallow Coffee
The experience wasn't something I'll call epic. It was decent and most likely re visit when am in the area. The menu is quite limited to a food trip. It's more of your traditional coffee shop. Yes they got a lot of coffee variety here.
For Php 510, I had the following:
Hazelnut coffee was overly sweet and not hot so I had it changed. The second round was the opposite- bitter. So I had milk added.
Homemade Corned Beef- it looked like it was from the can and the ones in the can tasted better. It's good though that it's not oily and the eggs that came with were prepared well.
Vegetable Sandwich- lacked imagination. They simply put together lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple and cheddar cheese. What about pesto or any other vegetable dressing to make it jive well?
The ambience is cozy and displays were fitting to its overall feel.
Epic Cafe came at the top of the cafe list for Kapitolyo, so I was really expecting bigger space for such a popular cafe. Despite it's size, it's rustic theme and overall quaint look totally made up for it.
We ordered the strawberry cake (according to the barista it was their bestseller together with the strawberry cheesecake), the grilled mozzarella cheese, and the Sea Salt Caramel Iced Cappuccino. I did not expect the cake to be so good, since strawberry cakes aren't that common in coffee shops, but it was! But the grilled mozzarella was even better, I wanted to order two despite already eating the cake! The sea salt caramel is okay, nothing special, but it's certainly something other shops don't have, so it's a novelty.
And can I just say that Epic Cafe has a really really good playlist? I could literally stay here the whole day.
Epic is one true epic coffee shop, serving good quality coffee and cakes while the customers enjoy the bicycle-studded interior. It's location in the midst of numerous restaurants is ideal; people in the area can have a nice serving of coffee after having a hearty meal.
It's architectural design is basic but made more special by the addition of bicycles, giving it a more unique and sporty look. The wooden wall renders the feel of a retro-type cafe that seem to have been serving coffee forever.
A very appetizing welcome is the abundance of cakes and pastries on display seen as the customer enters the place. Although relatively more expensive than similar products sold in other coffee shops, the cakes are different, and they taste really good. The rainbow cake, though appearing quite fancy, is moist and sweet, and is made more flavorful by the abundance of creamy icing. The strawberry cake deviates from the usual chiffon cake by being composed of alternating layers of pudding and strawberry icing.
As for the coffee, the iced almond rocca is a must-try, giving a hint and aftertaste of almond in a predominantly creamy coffee.
It is recommended that a visit to this place be done on a regular weekday; the place gets really crowded during weekends. And yes, there's free and fast wifi service.
A pretty cozy place to have coffee. We came in sunday at 9am for breakfast because the sign outside says breakfast all day.
We ordered the corned beef breakfast and shared it. Of course we also had coffee.
The corned beef is a bit dry but tasty, given a good heap of serving size. I like it. It is not stringy nor soft and chewy, bit a bit toasted and tasty. Two sunny-side-up eggs were served along with the corned beef and garlic rice.
I did not appreciate being served coffee without steamed milk and sugar on a proper serving cup. They served our coffee with cheap sachets pf creamer and sugar. I figured if you specialize in coffee, serve steamed milk to go with it, or at least offer it to your customers. We asked for skimmed milk and happy that they served it with no fuss. And i have to admit, coffee here is really good!
The interiors are a bit too dark for me, although the concept is strongly coffee-ish, making use of soft wood in the mix. I love the chairs with x back. They feel so comfortable! There are really expensive racing bikes parked all over the place, some hung, some up front, some at the back. I figured the owner must be a cyclist.
I usually like breakfast with lots of sun and it does not feel right to me to eat breakfast in a dark place. No biggie though. That's just my preference. But I think this would be a great hangout on late afternoons well into the night.
