great food, cute atmosphere! we bumped into this place by accident and it ended up a really good night. delicious coffee and delicious ribs, as well as a really amazing and light yema topped cake
definitely one of the more charming finds of kapitolyo!

Spaghetti Carbonarra is HEAVEN.. so perfect and taste soooo good.. the place is so classy.. friendly crew.. we'll drop by again.. and again..
Best value for money when it comes to cakes and pastries. The Mango Pavlova is a must-try. As are the gourmet pizzas. This joint also offers an interesting selection of crafted beers. Definitely one of my favorite places to unwind with friends after a crazy day at work.
Superb TAPSILOG!.. :)
spacious area for smokers..
love the PAVLOVA..
This is Bacolod food at its best !!!!!
Thanks to a random meeting, I discovered this place. I visited them twice for this week alone. Initially, I only had coffee but saw they have interesting line up of cakes and pastries and swore to come back for those. On my second visit, I ordered their full moon cake. It ws a chiffon layered mini cake with creamy dulce le che type of topping. It was good. I also had their chocolate muffin and cheese muffin, and I liked both as well. It was value for money too as the muffins were really huge. Like most reviews here says, I too was reminded of that bacolod cafe. Place was quaint and quiet perfect for meetings too. Price wise it's pretty affordable and cheaper than other cafes. I loved this place and I will keep coming back.
Get a box of their Napoleones and enjoy! It has to be finished within 2-3 days though. But I don’t see it as a problem. ❤️❤️❤️
we went to cab cafe out of curiosity. my boyfriend and i passed by this cafe one night and it was jam-packed with people. i like coffee shops, so we tried it on a sunday afternoon. it did not disappoint. we had the hot cafe caramel, cafe mocha and an oreo cheesecake. it was so good. the coffee is just perfect. we didn't know they serve lunch and dinner meals as well, we'll try it sometime. the array of pastry was just mouth watering, when we were about to go, they took out freshly bake muffins and i swear we will come back for that.
...i may be biased when i say this place gives me a bit of nostalgia, but after serving everything from kansi, batchoy and chicken inasal, i find myself back to my youth in Iloilo (the Ilonggo speaking crew may have contributed to that as well) .. the place serves food quickly, with Ilonggo flavors on point. they also serve great desserts and mean coffee.
I spent my Saturday evening with Mia’s family. We got take out from Cab Cafe. This establishment has been around before Kapitolyo was popular. And their food tonight spoke of why they’ve thrived for several years.
The Meatball Spaghetti pasta was excellent. It had firm noodles, flavorful sauce, and ample meatballs. The entire serving was generous too. Just the same, the Tuna Panini and Putanesca were decent choices as well.
For dessert, I think Cab Cafe has one of the best Chocolate Mousse. It was three layers of heaven. The chocolate chiffon base was moist, cream perfectly sweetened and the whipped cream light and soft. Yum!
I personally think the place is suitable for gatherings, business meetings, and if you just want to have some personal time and space.
The best part is that they have card and pay maya transactions 💯
The food is good, truffle pasta that day was a little bland for me, and the caramel machiatto was too sweet than normal. But everything is A-OKAY! 🙂

Kapitolyo is a Barangay in Pasig which turned into a Food District. There are many "hidden gems" here and most food joints only have their lone branch here. One of the hidden gems here is Cab Cafe. In a very crowded coffee shop competition, Cab Cafe stands-out. A very relaxing interior makes you want to comeback again. The Truffle Chocolate Frappe is one of the best frappe I've tasted while their Pistacho Cake is also a must try. Not too sweet but enough to make you want more even if it made your tummy full because of the huge slice.
great place. nice and cozy. enough parking. wifi. good food. yummy desserts and perfect coffee. i couldn't find anything wrong that's why i keep on coming back here.
update: 03.08.2020 still a great place. 2 thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼
The food here really reminds me of Bob's Cafe, a staple restaurant located beside Riverside Hospital in Bacolod. The ambience they are able to provide is also nice. It's a perfect place to study and do work as well. Aside from the food, you should also check out their beverages. I'm not sure if they still sell it now, but they used to sell Iced Coffee with Bailey's and it tasted really good.
All their desserts are actually good. My fave is their carrot cake and canonigo. I usually go here to get takeout pastries or cake but I never tried their meals and drinks. The food is already a 5/5 but the ambience can be improved. Seats are not so comfy and lights are too dim it makes me feel sleepy (but thats just my opinion ofc and some people may like it that way)
Ambiance - 5/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 5/5
I keep coming back here because of the desserts and coffee, the service, and the dominant reason, their very very fast wifi 😹. I’ve tried their Mango Bar, Napoleones, Mango Cake, Hot Mocha, Red Velvet Cake and a lot more in the past.
The pics are Pork Belly with Green Apple Juice and this is the first time i’ve ordered something savory but it didn’t really amazed me. The green apple is so good (5/5) but the Pork Belly tastes very normal for its price (4/5). Maybe i’ll give their other savory food a try, but when it comes to their desserts, it’s the best 👌🏼.
Also you can do paper works here and they got sockets for some tables for charging. They also have parking space and outside tables in case you’d like to smoke. AKL
with parking is a plus, food is great. must try MANGO KANI SALAD 😋. a good place to do work stuff, spacious and clean. sweet stuffs here are yummy too
Haven't tried their meals but this one is a nice go-to place for desserts. Try their Chocolate Carrot Cake and Red Velvet Cake, both were very toothsome and come in big slices. I think all of their desserts are from The Pastry Shop of Bob's in Bacolod which makes it more interesting. The dessert prices are also much lower than the nearby cafes and coffee shops.
If you want to just sit back and relax after a day's work, this place is for you.
Love staying at Cab cafe! The place has wifi and i like the overall ambiance. I usually order the batchoy, but this time I ordered cheeseburger with tomato soup. This didn’t disappoint. The cafe latte was okay. I wish they start serving chai latte or matcha latte on the menu ;)
All time favorite Ilonggo cafe. Reminds me of Bobs of Bacolod. The pinoy deli spaghetti is a very delicious pasta dish but can be less salty. The dried fish and salted eggs gives an all Pinoy feel. The employees are friendly and the ambience is cozy. I am always here.
I was in the area and my friend suggested to have lunch here. We tried the Del Pinoy Spaghetti and Spicy Spanish Sardines Pasta. It was very light, fresh and surprisingly tasty and filling. For dessert we tried their mango cheesecake which was not too sweet just the way I like it. Coffee was also okay. The place is quiet, spacious which is a great venue for catch up with friends. Staff was attentive and polite. We’ll probably come back again.
The cafe is a personal favorite of mine. Aside from its proximity from our house, it is one of the well-established shops in Kapitolyo. In my numerous visits, I would usually encounter familiar faces, thus signifies loyal customers. Both their pastries and meals are delectable and very affordable, especially their variety of cakes. It is also the best place for individual and group study since the atmosphere is just relaxed and cozy. It also offers free Wi-Fi. Kudos!
First time to try cab cafe and it was surprisingly good! The batchoy was good although it was a bit too salty for me. Pasta was good, not your ordinary pasta dishes which I liked since it was something different.
Nice cozy cafe in Kapitolyo.
FOOD: 4
Ordered the tapsilog negrense, and their Oreo cheescake. The tapa's taste definitely makes it top tier. However, the meat was quite gamey. So overall it was just a 3.5 for me. I'd still recommend it for the taste though, really good. Their Oreo cheesecake on the otherhand, was a 5. Finished the whole slice (and I rarely do that with cheesecakes). They know how to do their cheesecake base well, so I won't be surprised if their other cheesecake flavors are just as good.
AMBIENCE: 3.5
No frills cafe, plus points for parking in Kapitolyo. Free WiFi, although I wasn't able to try it.
SERVICE: 4.5
Really friendly staff and they give good recommendations. 😊
Went here for dessert and so we ordered from their cakes menu. We enjoyed their cheesecakes - blueberry & oreo!
The place was cozy and warm. Not crowded around 7pm - 9pm. 🖒
Will come back to try their main dishes.
i liked it!
delicious breakfast foods and other meals are ok too
hope they make my fave drink available again :(
affordable meals and desserts! :)
I like the ambiance. Super cozy and the lights are good. I used the bathroom, and it was clean. The prize of the pastries are acceptable at mas mura kumapara sa ibang cafes along Kapitolyo. I ordered blueberry cheesecake and tried the red velvet cake ordered by my friend. I enjoyed the flavor of the blueberry cheesecake. It is not too sweet, hindi ka mauumay, and it is not your ordinary cheescake talaga. On the other hand, when I tasted the red velvet, it's a so-so. Hindi ko ma-consider as Best, kasi Nothing special with the taste. But overall, the food experience was great.
For a coffee lover like me, veering away from your usual coffee shops is a good move to try some new coffee experience. CAB is a must try if you're around Kapitolyo area. They have tasteful coffee blends and cakes! Staffs are accommodating as well. Will I go back? Yes.
Food: The menu is a selection of Italian, American and Filipino food. Ang patok dito, daming selection ng cake 😋🎂🍰
Good plating din ng food
Ambiance: Chill-at-relax-lang ambiance, cool din yung decors nila na mga artworks
Spacious, pero noong pumunta kami medyo daming tao
Price: Tama lang, for taste and size, lalo na yung cakes
Overall:🌟🌟🌟🌟🌓
I can rate ambiance as 5! Great place for catch ups and good conversation. Really love their Mocha frozen blend and the price was really cheap.
I'm just quite disappointed with the blueberry cheesecake. Slightly bland and blueberry topping was really thin.
Overall, I love the place. :)
As a Bacolodnon, I always run to Cab Cafe to have a taste of home. I could also speak to the staff in Hiligaynon which is a super plus for me. The food and drinks are good of course.
Their napoleones are a must-try! 👍👍
I ordered the minty white mocha (frappe). Tastes too sweet, I think. But good for those with sweet tooth. 😊
Perfect place for people who want to work - quiet place and good food 😊 just make sure you have a data plan coz their internet isn't working yet.
We were in Kapitolyo and we wanted to try Mad Mark's... The line was just long, so we walked over to Cab Cafe instead... No line! I ordered the Carbonara (as pictured earlier in my feed) while my other half ordered the tapsilog de Negrense... No pic of the tapsilog (my partner basically scarfed it down)... The carbonara was good while the tapsilog was just ok.
On to the dessert! I liked the mango pavlova, kinda like mango bravo... Overall, it was a pleasant experience...

First time to eat at Cab Cafe and it was well worth the trip. The chorizo cheese melt sandwich was amazing while the cubano sandwich was tasty without being greasy. The coffee was delicious and the salted egg chicken was eye opening (can't have too much of it, though). Definitely a place I'd go back to, and soon!
I keep coming back to this place because of their blueberry cheesecake. It is so flavorful at a very affordable price of less than 100 pesos. The place is quiet, cozy, and ideal if you just want to relax since it is not usually crowded.
Mango Pavlova and Pistachio both have the same amount of sweetness but I'm not a fan of mango and pistachio. . Triple Chocolate is my second favorite simply because I love chocolates! Lol! . Just ask water, they may a little bit short in staff but ask them whatever you need. They are friendly. . I will go back there to try other cakes and also the pasta. I heard the pastas there are good.
April 3 Our first time at kapitolyo to food hunt. With my food buddy my sister rose. With the help of goggle map and fx driver we finaly found this food heaven place different types of resto around. Cab cafe is our first stop got Sate Babe pork barbeque in peanut butter sauce with java rice but we take out food. Love the packaging and the food taste delicious mostly the display cakes and pastry. We ate it at megamall food court it has 2 stick barbeque, java rice barbeque sauce. The place a bit small inside but there sit outside.
nice people nice staff and crew of this establishment
smell coffee and cakes everywhere and I love that place I going to go back to that place if I had another chance
I first tried Cab a year or more ago for their desserts. I found them okay but didn't find one that made me feel I had to come back.
I came back for a watercolor workshop. The workshop I attended included food. I was happy with the artist's choice!
We all had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and a Green Apple Fruit Cooler. Both were pretty good.
The Philly Cheese Steak was huge. I ate half of it for late lunch and the other half for dinner. I was surprised also to find out that it was only Php215! The beef was nice and tender. The sandwich also satisfied the cheese-lover in me.
The Green Apple Fruit Cooler was refereshing and even thirst quenching! It wasn't too sweet and the green apple flavor was a nice touch even if it is flavored syrup.
Definitely a very reasonable place for comforting food. They also have a function area for workshops and events.
Now I found my reason to go back to Cab - Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich!
If you love desserts and coffee, you must visit their cafe. They offer wide varieties of cakes and drinks. Price is affordable too!
Their cakes are IG worthy too. 🍰🍰🍰
I tried their Carbonara, tastes good but not exceptional.
I really went to their cafe because of their Cubanos. 😍😍😍 ever since I've watched the movie Chef, i was dying to try the bestest Cubano in town, but still no luck, their Cubanos are good but not the best.
But i would still suggest their cafe for people looking for something new around Kapitolyo.😁
Good Food Quality! Good Service! Nice Place! Fair Price!
If you're looking for some place to hang out and to satisfy your tummy with delicious cakes and drinks you must TRY this CAB CAFE! Very affordable price I guess.. compare to other known Cafe's.. And I could say that their cakes are REMARKABLE!
If you're looking for a place to hangout and just chill, this cafe is a perfect choice. Their display of cakes will make you wanna order them all. I had a hard time choosing between cheesecake and sansrival. I chose sansrival since I was craving for it. It's a must try I may say. Also their pavlova is good. Anddd, they also serve some dishes. Forgot what's on their menu because I was so busy eyeing their cakes. They also serve good coffee and other drinks! Will be back here for sure.
It a place you can go to if you want affordable cheesecakes and other cakes. The cakes arent supreme but they taste good. It's a convenient place to go to if you want to chill out with friends.
We've been here a couple of times already. Their cakes are good, not too sweet and very affordable. They have a spacious place and free wifi.
I will go back here to try other food since we just ordered desserts. But the desserts are lovely and super yummy! More of my experience www.letsgodanas.blogspot.com
Just went here to have some quality conversations with friends. A nice place to eat some dessert and have some coffee. We ordered these:
Sans Rival - We love the taste. Jus a right sweetness and the cream is nice! Try it!
Caramel Machiatto - hmm. nothing special for me just a taste of coffee caramel. But it was delicious.
Was looking for dessert and then I accidentally came across Cab Café. The place was cozy, the crew was welcoming, and the selections looked mouth-watering.
I have always had a love affair with red velvet so I decided try out their red velvet cake. I guess I can say that I had high expectations, and some of it weren't met. Why? Though the cake was afforable (a check for my wallet), had the right flavors (another check for my taste buds), I had a little problem with the consistency of the cream cheese in between layers because at my first slice, the cream was a little tougher than I preferred but aside from that everything was A-okay ☺️
Anyway, all in all, I recommend Cab!
Looking for dessert....
Well, we end up here at cab cafe with friends.
We tried their smoothies...
Okaay!!! Haha
I think, the best in this store is their cakes, many bought cakes eh.. 🎂
Next time we will try their cakes and some of their dishes 😉
Nice place to have coffee after having a hefty meal somewhere else. They have scrumptious cakes and coffee to go with it. Interior is laid back with nice lighting for a mellow winding down after dinner. They also have light meals but have never tried them.
Walked around Kapitolyo and saw this in their Chiller!
Tried their Mango Pavlova id rate it a 3
it was yummy but i've tasted better!
Its good that it has a parking lot! especially in Kapitolyo
Love their Pavlova! Just the perfect break from the usual cakes gracing the display cabinets of the cafes. Pavlova is basically a stack of softened meringue sandwiching slices of ripe mango, whip cream and pili nuts. It's hard not to fall from this tower of balanced sweetness!
I paired it with their mint caramel disappointingly served in their customed paper cup. (Seriously, where are the porcelain cups???) Coffee was okay. I wouldn't say it's a pair to remember, talking about mint and caramel, but it isn't bad too. The kick of mint is as good as the first sip then the flavor of caramel takes over all the way down. Definitely, not a cup that I will order again.
Shoutout to the cozy mood of the place. The warm lighting and the rustic finish of the fixtures will surely make you want to stay longer:)
Cab Cafe isn't just a cafe! They have really great food apart from desserts. Recommending their turtufo mushroom pasta! They don't scrimp on the truffle oil and it is just so yummy! We ordered margherita pizza too, and the crust is crisp and thin while the cheese is yummy. For dessert, their pavlova is the best seller for good reason, but pretty excited to try out their other offerings as well. Servers are very accommodating too👌🏽
If you're near Ortigas or Pasig and looking for a new place, you should try Cab Cafe. Their pasta and coffee is the best. :)
Puttanesca is 👌🏻👍🏻
This is my 2nd visit here and I just got exactly what I expected. This time, I ordered Hungarian cheese sausage. It has a little taste of pepper which makes it more delectable (however, the sausage is oily that I need to tissue it off). The Apple Cucumber cooler is refreshing too.
I ordered 6 pieces of Tuna Casserole (not in the photo) which is a steal at php36.00 each (only!). Those were a hit when it reached home. :)
I'll definitely go back here!
My favorite place from breakfast to dinner. Good food, very good service, quiet place and reasonable price. They also have a good selection of locally brewed and imported beer.
Authentic, home cooked goodness in an up-and-coming culinary neighborhood.
Must-try:
Sate Babe: a throwback to resto's origins (Bob's Big Boy in Bacolod), pork BBQ with rich satay sauce (darker and richer than usual), side of java rice, and atsara. Pair with Bayani Brew or Fresh Sugarcane juice.
This is the second time I went here. I just love their cakes specifically Pistachio Sansrival and Pavlova.
Their desserts aren't that sweet but it's really good. It's perfect with a cup of tea or coffee (whichever you want). I really like going here for dessert after a hearty meal. It just hit the spot.
Maybe next time I should try their dishes too. Their pasta look tasty and so as their rice meals.
After a satisfying Mexican treat at a nearby resto, we were searching for a place to have desserts. My sister was kind enough to guide us to a place called Cab Cafe.
I was surprised to see an array of mouth watering cakes and mini cakes waiting to be munched on. Since we agreed we will skip the Chocolate cakes for that day, which were equally tempting, we ordered the Mango Cheesecake, Pistaccio Sansrival and the Mango Pavlova.
The Mango Cheesecake did not really impress us but the Pistaccio Sansrival and Mango Pavlova were to die for. I will definitely recommend this to my friends given that it was already a good day that day, but to end the day with desserts in Cab Cafe made it great.
Cab Cafe is one of the famous chill spots many people from Kapitolyo go and kill time in. They have a stellar muffin flavors which ranges from blueberry, strawberry and banana with nut toppings. It's less than 50 pesos and is worth every peso because every bite is moist, it's huge and it can actually be shared for 2 persons. Another must try is their chocolate coated carrot cake; a big slice of moist, fudgy and delectable texture in every bite. A great desert shop around town!
I would've rated Cab Cafe a 5 but they didn't have Mango Pavlova when we went there 😔
• Mango Kani Salad - generous serving of crunchy greens, sweet slices of ripe mango, shredded crabsticks, thinly sliced cucumber, and a special mayo dressing that we think had crushed peanuts in it.
• Deli Pinoy Spaghetti - the perfect combination of salted egg, slightly-cooked tomato wedges, parmesan cheese (I think), olive oil, smoked fish, onions... not too salty with just a hint of sourness and that distinct smokey taste of tinapa...
• Sate Babe - one of our classic favorites from Bob's. As expected, the meat was soft, tender, easy to chew. Tastes like barbeque but leveled up with a nutty taste from the sauce. The rice was too oily for me though. Maybe they should have an option to serve the chicken oil separately 😆
OVERALL: It's definitely a place you can add to your favorites in the Metro. It has "comfort food" written all over it. Will be coming back for the elusive Mango Pavlova. 👍👍
CNN Philippines eats: Dine and dessert at Cab Cafe
By Lara Tan, CNN Philippines
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Dessert lovers don't have to travel far from their dinner to a dessert place because Cab Cafe along Kapitolyo in Pasig City offers both, with no compromise.
Cab Cafe is more known for its desserts (rightfully so), but aside from these, it serves delectable savory meals, fresh coffee concoctions, and locally-crafted beers.
The Country Sausage Platter looked plain, but I held back my judgment — and I was right to do so. The homemade sausages had the right amount of saltiness, smokiness, and flavor. The sausage cocktails are the right size for it to be considered a finger food. It didn't have the usual sausage casing or skin, so it didn't have a bite.
A dish should not only rouse your taste buds, but also awaken your sense of smell. Cab Cafe's Deli Pinoy Spaghetti (P185) did just that. The pasta's abundant bits of smoked bangus or milkfish was a party for the senses. It tasted light with its pasta sauce made of fresh tomatoes, vinegar, and fish sauce. The sliced salted egg topping sealed the deal.
If there is one dessert you have to try at Cab Cafe, it's the Mango Pavlova.
The layers of whipped cream and crisp and chewy meringue hide chunks of sweet and tangy ripe mangoes. Surprisingly, it tasted light despite the layers of whipped cream, meringue, and slivers of almonds.
I asked the waiter why they don't add mangoes as toppings to the pavlova. He said it would make the dessert soggy and lose its chewy texture.

I went here last week after a long and boring meeting with my client near the area it perked up my day after i tasted their US Angus burger with bacon and mushroom together with mango kani salad. i like it. price is good. i also have chicken waldorf and two orders of US angus burger with bacon and mushroom to go for my wife and youngest son as my pasalubong.
I was invited for another foodie meetup around Kapitolyo. Yes I was excited because it's my first time in the area. I already read a lot of raves about Kapitolyo being the foodie capital in the Metro. And because its my first time there, getting to the place is a bit tricky. I've worked in Shaw for almost a month and I know Kapitolyo from the back of my mind that its just near EDSA Shaw. Well, I was wrong. I nearly got lost! Thank's to Google Map and to all the security guards that I've asked. He He He
A place to enjoy your favorite local delicacies located at the heart of Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Alongside with other restaurants around the vicinity, Cab Café stands out with their delicious Bacolod-inspired dishes plus tasteful desserts.
**PLACE/SERVICE – Located at West Capitol Drive, Pasig City, Cab Café has a very cozy ambiance that lights up your dining experience, surrounded with attentive staffs.
**FOOD – Must-try dishes at Cab Café are their light meals and especially their very delicious pastry desserts:
✔ Country Sausage Platter – Enjoy their home-made sausage (peppery taste) plus slices of bread in a platter, perfect for appetizer.
✔ Batchoy Bacolod – A soup to warm you up. Delicious Bacolod-inspired La Paz Batchoy with slices of meat, raw egg, onion chives with a very distinct flavor of chicharon.
✔ Pizza Alfredo – Thin but soft pizza topped with plenty of Parmesan cheese, mushrooms and meat. This pizza dish is absolutely yummy.
✔ Pinoy Deli Pasta – looking for something unique pasta flavor? Avail this Pinoy Deli Pasta, with more on its fresh tomato taste rather than the usual Pinoy (sweet) taste with added salted egg and topped with Parmesan cheese.
✔ Sate Babe – 2 sticks of marinated pork meat with distinguishable peanut butter taste on its sauce. Enjoy this dish with a cup of java rice and atchara on side.
✔ Mango Pavlova – A heavenly dessert! Very soft sponge cake with mango slices, whipped cream and almonds to add crisps. Very yummy and indeed a must-try!
✔ Blueberry Cheesecake – thick slice of Blueberry Cheesecake for cheesecake fans. The taste for me is more focus on the cheesecake side that overpowers the flavor of the blueberry.
✔ They have available drinks like coffees, coolers and local beer:
For coffee, try a cup of hot Caramel Macchiato and Choco Peanut Butter Pie for cold coffee drink.
Looking for something refreshing? Try their Ice Fruit Coolers like their Watermelon Blackberry and my personal favorite, Strawberry Raspberry. Cab Café also have a local beer which they called as Bog’s Brew beers.
**PRICES – Pocket-friendly price and mostly dishes are perfect for sharing.
**VERDICT – If you happened to be at Kapitolyo, Pasig, be sure to drop by here at Cab Café. Their delicious desserts and Pinoy dishes are really worth the try!

So Hello there Cab Cafe!
I was early when I got to the place. So I got a chance to take pictures of the Cafe.
They have minimal designs and simple arrangements of tables and chair. They also have an al fresco dining area. They have ample space of parking and have a free wi-fi.
But what really caught me are these beautiful cakes!
Okay, enough with the desserts. Let's go to the other side of the cafe.
Initially, the other side of Cab Cafe is for a bar. Upon entering you will see different beers and drinks that are displayed.
There are a lot of frames with quotes hanging on the wall. I like this side more than the other one. The dim light is ok especially if you are having an intimate dinner with your special someone.
Before we tried the food, Mark Magalona (the owner of Cab Cafe) gave us an introduction about the place. Cab Cafe is the branch of Bob's Cafe in Bacolod that his mom and dad owns. The menu's that they have here is almost the same with the one that they have in Bacolod especially the cakes. Cab Cafe is from his parents' name Cynthia And Bob.
Let's go to the food! First served are the coffees. You know that I loved coffees. And the two served coffees are really delicious.
The Choco Peanut Butter Pie is served cold and its something unique. Definitely a must try!
I loved how strong and creamy the Caramel Macchiato. I can definitely enjoy this kind of coffee. I can also enjoy this if its serve cold.
Next on the menu is the Country Sausage Platter. It was a hit! I loved how refined all the ingredients, it was very meaty! According to Mark, it was homemade. There is no chunks inside, easy to chew and very delicious. One of my favorite! I need to buy the frozen ones so I can cook it at home.
Pinoy Deli Pasta has a full flavors of fresh tomatoes. The sourness of the tomatoes blended well with tinapa flakes and salted egg.
Pizza Alfredo is my favorite of all! I am bias because I love every kind of pizza's. But I am telling you that you must try this dish once you visit Cab Cafe. I loved everything about it!
Next on the menu is Sate Babe. The name itself is engaging. The sauce has peanuts but unlike the one that I've tasted from Malaysia, there is something different on it that I can't pinpoint but on a good way. I think they should also offer a chicken satay.
Batchoy Bacolod has a big serving on a bowl. It has a simple taste with a raw egg that you need to mix with the soup to complement all the flavors.
And another favorite part of mine are the desserts!
First on the desserts is their bestseller, Mango Pavlova. At first look, I thought it would be crisp. But no, it was so soft and so yummy! It's not too sweet and have enough mangoes for the fillings. There was also an added crunch from the almonds.
Second dessert is the sinful Blueberry Cheesecake! It was so thick and so good at the same time.
They offered drinks too, Ice Fruit Coolers. They served 2 flavors which is Watermelon Blackberry and Strawberry Raspberry. I tried the latter. The flavors is just enough and not too sweet. It complements to all the food that I ate that day. And honestly, one cup is not enough! It really quenched my thirst.
They also served 3 kinds of their local beers. I think I had tried the Kawayan Ale which has a strong taste. I am not used to drinking beers anymore. :)
I will give them a rate of 4.5 for the food but because their staff is well knowledgeable about all their menus, the owner who is so humble (liking our images on IG and adding us) is a big plus, I will definitely give them a five! I am easy to please, but what's really get me is how you treat your customers. That day, Mark didn't make us feel that we are his customers but indeed his friends. He also accepted all the things that needs to improve for his cafe from our foodie group. Big thumbs up! A great experience and delicious food, I am so excited to go back!
You will never think that they also serve meals aside from cakes and other pastries that you can easily found in the display. We have tried they locally brewed coffee, the Caramel Macchiato, and Choco Peanut Butter Pie. I don't usually drink coffee and I am not a fun, but I sip a little just to taste it. The Caramel Macchiato for me was so strong while I liking the Choco Peanut Butter Pie which is the just perfect blend of chocolate or tablea and peanut butter. I am sure that kids will love it.
Then we tried their Country Sausage Platter which is very appetizing the peppery flavor is so rich, but I think it should be better if has a dip like honey mustard or garlic mayo. We also have Batchoy Bacolod, Pizza Alfredo, Pinoy Deli Pasta, and Sate Babe.
The Batchoy is just fine, Pinoy Deli Pasta for me was a little dry and the Sate Babe was great which is excellent sauce for the pork and complements with the java rice and achara while the Pizza Alfredo was superb, I like it because it's not oily compared to the usual pizza that we have grown up.
We also have Ice Fruit Coolers which are the Watermelon Blackberry and the Strawberry Raspberry and for the desserts. We have Mango Pavlova and Blueberry Cheesecake. I love the Mango Pavlova, it's chewy and not too sweet while the Blueberry Cheesecake is just good and I taste it too salty for me different from the usual cheesecake which is a little sour. They also serve beers as in local beers created in our country the Bog's Brew. I like the names of those beers so unique such as NPA for Negros Pale Ale, Kawayan Ale and All Grain Ale. I did not try it because I don't feel like drinking that night and I have worked the following morning.
The food, price and location is good!
This is probably a Cab ride I wouldn't mind being stuck in.
Cab Cafe is different...in a good way! Been to a lot of cafe's around the Metro and I must say, this is one of the best I've been to that serves homegrown/local dishes.
The servers always had a ready smile and are very well aware of the dishes they serve - could probably be because they've been around long enough or they've been properly trained.
The interiors - simple, no-frills yet conducive to relaxation and comfortable dining experience. I love the framed quotes that hung on the walls and on top of shelves - there's a feeling of being reminded to love life along with loving your food.
My most favorite and your must order - the sausage platter. They say, the sausage is a family recipe and what would you expect from such? - perfect blend of tastes that can only come from a dish that's cooked with love.
Next on my faves list - the pizza alfredo. Do I need to say more? It's pizza! And I'm a pizza monster. Lols!
The satey babe made it to my top 3 too! Why? The peanut butter sauce plus the barbecued pork was a perfect combination. It really was a taste of Bacolod in Kapitolyo.
My fave drink btw, is the cucumber and green apple cooler...tropical and thirst quenching during another one of those humid nights in the Metro.
Cab Cafe's Mango Pablova is perfect for those who have a sweet tooth that's never satisfied...why? The mango pablova is heavenly! I won't elaborate and you need to give it a try.
IF you don't normally frequent the Kapitolyo Area particularly the East Capitol side, then you must start now, I recommend you put Cab Cafe first on the list!
You know those cafe places that serve just coffee and dessert? Cab Cafe is way better than that. I myself go to Cab Cafe just for their cakes and coffee but now that I have explored the other side of what they have to offer, it made me wonder why I never did this a long time ago.
Cab Cafe or also known as Cafe Bob's in Bacolod has been your go to place for comfort food and just relax on a bright sunny day... and night. Their ambiance is very comfortable and colorful.
Upon entering, you will see these cakes that will make you go on a sugar high because you just want to order them all. From cheesecakes to pavlovas to cakes and mini cakes, they have it all. For this particular visit, I was excited because it will focus more on their dishes that showcases a different take on your usual dishes. Let us begin:
For the drinks, they started us off with their Caramel Macchiato. For this drink, I find it too sweet but still good. I asked the waiter what kind of coffee do they use and they mentioned Local. From that moment, I mentioned that they should somehow make the taste balance out with the bold taste of their grounds and the sweetness of the caramel to make it authentic and unique. Their other drink, Choco Peanut butter pie was quite a surprise. It made me go back to my childhood days where I would place a spoonful of peanut butter and eat it while watching a show. This was good and not itchy to the throat. A must order.
From coffee and heavy drinks, we were given a drink to refresh us and cleanse the palette before moving on the main dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Rasberry drink. It was very refreshing and made me want to order another glass for the duration of the night.
Enough about the drinks, we now move on their dishes:
Country Sausage Platter: this is home made and delicious. It did not have those hard parts as every bite was soft and juicy, literally. It also a kick of spice in each bite. PS: they also sell these frozen but according to the owner Mark Magalona, it is better eaten in the restaurant. :)
Batchoy Bacolod: One of the well known dishes here. Quite generous if you ask me. It's in a big bowl filled with noodles, beef and a raw egg that you mix which creates a whole new different taste that compliments one another.
Pizza Alfredo: This has got to be my favorite dish. Not your typical gooey cheese that makes you stretch the pizza but they used parmesan cheese that makes it totally different from the rest. The mushroom was fresh and the bacon had the right amount of salt taste to it. Crunchy on the sides but it was not burnt. This was a happy dish for me that perfectly blends together with the next dish which is their...
PinoyDeli Pasta: A top 2 favorite for me. Another must order for every customer. A mix of fresh tomatoes with fish sauce and salted egg. It may sound weird but believe me, it is addicting and good. The taste is not overpowering each other because it blends well together. Yum!
Sate Babe: A famous dish in Bacolod brought here in Manila. 2 generous amount of meat in a stick with their signature peanut sauce that has a secret ingredient that takes the taste of Sate to a different place. For 180 pesos? Not bad at all.
From all of those dishes that made me full in a happy way, we are now about to end the night with a sweet note... DESSERTS!
One part that you cannot miss throughout your experience at Cab Cafe is their wide variation of desserts that will stare right at you and say "You know you want me" and so I gave in
Starting with their Mini Pavlova, this already made me blush. It was presentable, well made, delicious and sweet. Every bite had different textures from crunch to cream to smooth to a little rough which all meshed well perfectly. Another dessert that we tried is their famous Blueberry Cheesecake. I am very particular with cheesecake as it can be either too tarty or too sweet or too salty. This one though just balanced all those and created a sinful cheesecake which centered around the word CHEESE. It was thick, creamy and not bubbly nor dry. I could use more blueberries on this but it was really good. I could eat the whole slice in less than 5 minutes.
Now the finale to the sweet ending is the... Beer. Now that Cab Cafe extended their venue which is right beside it, they created a place for the ones who want to drink and relax. I liked the concept of having two different ambiance in one place. Another reason why I like it is because they thought of their customers not wanting to transfer anymore to a different area. They just have to walk 5 steps and they are in a different place. Dinner at Cab Cafe and drinks at the extended part which has no name yet but looks promising. A must try is their local brew which is Bog's Brew and Negros Pale Ale (NPA). Far from your typical San Mig Light and Pale. This takes on a lighter note that is tolerable for beer and non beer drinker. A must order to have a new found appreciation for local beer and a new take on beer which is out of the usual.
Thanks for a great experience, Cab Cafe. This will definitely not be the last time I will be magnetised to you place. Until next time.
Owning a restaurant is not easy since you really have to do a lot of things from making sure that the ambiance is great up to the actual assurance that the food you serve will actually be liked by your target customers. CAB Cafe which originates from the name Cynthia and Bobby is inspired by its Bacolod ancestor Bobs Cafe. They have a background of more than 50 years in the restaurant and food industry and had been passed on to the their son who happens to own Cab Cafe.
My personal favorite here would be their COUNTRY SAUSAGE PLATTER, which probably is the best sausage I have ever tasted yet.
PIZZA ALFREDO is also something you should try. This Pizza is not your ordinary Pizza. You would be surprised how it goes away from your traditional presentation of thin crust and stuff plus the taste is really different.
If you love COFFEE better try their coffee since they do brew local blends. I find this really rare, amazing and commendable. I wish I have tried their black coffee but thanks since I have managed to sample their Caramel Macchiato.
PINOY DELI PASTA which creates a unique pasta flavor and dwells away with the usual Filipino-Sweet style pasta. They use actual tomatoes and well salted eggs. I really liked it though for some they might be surprised with the taste.
I also tried BATCHOY BACOLOD and wow the serving was really very generous, as well as SATE BABE which is their own version of Barbeque. Both of these are worth trying out.
For dessert, I tried their famous bestseller MANGO PAVLOVA, well it aste not so sweet but honestly I do not find anything special about it nor with their BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE but perhaps I am a person that is not so much into desserts. My friends told me that they like it a lot so I would agree to that.
One of the things that needs improvement perhaps is their WATERMELON BLACKBERRY and STRAWBERRY RASPBERRY since I really can't determine the taste that much and it easily gets diluted as ice subsides. I don't know perhaps it is because of the flavor combination.
THEIR BEER WAS AWESOME and yes I am no longer a beer drinker since I prefer brandy over the fattening beer but when I tried Cab Cafe's beer offering I was amazed.
Among their three beers BOG's BREW, NEGROS PALE ALE (NPA) and KAWAYAN ALE, Kawayan Ale was the one with the strongest hit while NPA would be something that is just right even for a woman. I would have tried more if it'sa bit earlier.
So whoever would tell you that Cab Cafe is some sort of a trap or you should reconsider going into, then think again because you will be missing dining at a place which offers a lot of great food and drinks.

Tried the sausages for my husbands baon for today, IT DID NOT FAIL ME!! Super tasty and I love it so much!! I'll probably go back at Cab Cafe and buy some more!!! 😀😀😀
We were looking for a place to have our dessert and we saw Cab Cafe along the corner and give it a try.
We ordered Mango Cheesecake, Pistachio Sansrival and Mango Pavlova
Pistachio sansrival - Loved their version of it as it is not too sweet and dry. Has the right amount of everything.
Mango Cheesecake - taste okay. The cheesecake itself is not that rich compared to the other that I have tasted.
Mango Pavlova - this one is worth ordering! The mango, merengue consistency and the fillings were spot on.
Overall, we enjoyed having our dessert and would like to come back to try their other food as they have plenty to choose from.
I ate here because my friend recommended their desserts. So i did, and it was delish. I'll be coming back here to eat their mango pavlova. It was so good. Their prices are reasonable.
My friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. When we went in, we were immediately drawn to the chiller with cakes.
I'm very particular with customer service, so I was very happy when the servers assisting us were so patient in taking our orders and pictures, and answering questions, among other things. (We were a group of 5 girls. Go figure.)
The place was well-lit, and even if all tables were taken, it wasn't difficult to move around. The interior was minimalist and modern, making the place look spacious and clean. I especially liked the fact that they sold stuff like Bagnet to go.
When we ordered a slice of cake for the birthday girl, they brought it to us with a lit candle. Cute.
The only downside to this experience was that the cake was a bit dry.
Otherwise, a very satisfying experience.
A gem of a place in Kapitolyo!
First, the place is quite easy to find in the restaurant maze of Kapitolyo, plus it has 3 or 4 parking spaces what one does not have to park on the street.
Second, it has a pleasantly comfortable and cozy feel, quite relaxing, there were just a few customers so we couldn't complain about the service, it was personal ... we even had a conversation with their staff while waiting for our orders.
Third and most important is the food, although we ordered just a few items, one could sense that most if not all items are made with quality in mind.. We had the Tapsilog de Negrense and Country Sausage Platter.Tapsilog was nicely seasoned, not too sweet, not too salty, plus it had the right bite to it.. not too soft - (one can cut it with just a fork), yet not too hard - (one does not have to break his jaw to eat). The garlic rice had a nice mix of garlic and salt, plus the rice was not cheap rice, but medium grained. The egg - crispy crust, that I will just let it's photo do the talkingThe Country Sausage platter was also excellent - 12 pieces, plus nicely toasted and buttered baguette slices..
We liked the food so much that we bought frozen Tapa and country Sausages from them... in fact we finished off their stock of frozen tapa and country sausages..
We ordered dessert afterwards... Pavlova, Choco Carrot Cake and Pandan Mamon... Everything was good, Pavlova was like an upgraded very soft (melt in your mouth) sponge version of Conti's Mango Bravo, before Conti's branched out and quality started to decline, while the Pandan Mamon had a nice crunch on the cheese crust and tasted very well too, just the right hint of pandan
Price was not too cheap yet not that expensive, just right for the serving size.
All in all, an excellent food find in Kapitolyo... We will be back!!
