Ate at the SM North Edsa Branch.
(I've never written a restaurant review before but we enjoyed it so much so...)
I've been seeing the Dohtonbori posts for weeks and finally today, me and my beau were able to go. We booked a reservation via phonebooky (and got a discount *wink) because I've read that the waiting line takes a while. When we got there, fortunately, there wasn't a line. We were greeted warmly when we came in and requested to be seated in the tatami room. The place was great, the toilet was clean, the staff was accommodating, the food was AMAZIIIING. We ordered Deluxe Okonomiyaki, Quattro Formaggi pizza, Pork Yakiniku and Sakura ice cream (also got a free ice cream for answering a survey). Everything was delicious. At first, we let the staff, Angie, cook the okonomiyaki for us. She was very attentive, flipping the okonomiyaki at the needed moment. We cooked the rest of the food by ourselves. We exited the place, greeted us goodbye with smiles from all the staff. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Dohtonbori. We certainly will come back again! <3

Dohtonbori Greenhills branch is the best, its my 2nd time here n the staff were so polite n the food Is really good!!!!! I've worked in Japan for quite a long time been to a lot of restos there and I can say that dohtonbori never failed me when its come to the taste of the marinated meat yakiniku style n okonomiyaki is really good! Galing!!!
First time for me to eat at Dohtonbori (the one we went to was the one in Greenhills), and besides excellent service, the food that we ordered was exceptional! The Kimchi and seafood Okonomiaki, plus the Quatro Formaggio Japanese pizza cooked in front of you on a griddle built into our table.
The Okonomiaki was great, esp. since I had only had it now, and the 4-cheese pizza, with caramel on top, was great!

The best Japanese restaurant i have ever been to. I have been to a lot and this is by far number one on my list. Food is delicious. Price is good. Service is excellent. Apart from their delicious food, their service is what sets them apart. I certainly will keep coming back for more.
I have been with customer service industry for almost 4 yrs and yet the customer service here at Dontonbori mall of Asia branch is absolutely great. All those beautiful ladies working attentively and with the sense of teamwork. I think they deserve better prices and commendations. Will promote their services to my family and friends. It was a great Japanese dining experience for me with better food and fascinating customer service. Shout out for all the beautiful servers. Made my day...Thank you!
Went with my fambam to try it out and it reminded us of our visit to Osaka! Great food and friendly staff the Greenhills branch. Will definitely come back.
love all the food dohtonbori never fail me . excellent service and yummy food . hindi ako magsasawa :) tonkotsu ramen and pork yakiniku hindi mawawala sa order namin :)
Fast service, friendly and accomodating staff, good food, great place. Affordable price, what more can you ask for?
DOHTONBORI GREENHILLS is LOVE.
The staffs there were very accomodating and very much willing to serve and assist you.
The place is so cozy and it felt like a dream come true. It really felt like I'm in Japan w/ the interiors and stuff. It felt like home.
Food quality is superb. I have only tried the Mixed Okonomiyaki, their rice and the Miso soup. And so far, I am quite satisfied w/ the quality and taste of the food.
I have visited this establishment twice palang. And I'm really hoping that I will be visiting it again soon!
Great food and great service. The place ambience is great: well maintained, bright, and clean. The waitress who served and cooked our food was also very kind so it boosted the experience (Missouri St., Greenhills branch).
Pricewise, it's very reasonable. Not too expensive but not too cheap. The servings were generous as well.
10/10 would definitely go back.
Went to moa branch . Very accommodating staff like Vanessa, Dj, Lea , and Jia . Nice ambiance and good food especially the yakiniku selection. We will be back
This is actually my first time to try Japanese Yakiniku and it is quite similar with Korean barbeque, unlimited meat choices but without side dishes. The way of cooking if different because the servers cook and leaves it with a timer and they just come back after a few minutes. We added okonomiyaki which is a Japanese savory pancake. I chose the cheese flavored one because I was hesitant at first but because with cheese, you can never go wrong. Haha. I love the Japanese themed restaurant and It feels really authentic though I’ve never been to Japan haha.
Good service great food but a little expensive. Okonomiyaki will be cooked infront of you. We tried the beef and the cheese one.
If you’re craving for Japanese and looking for a value for money deal, Dohtonbori should be on your list.
I am personally not a fan much of the Okonomiyakis or Japanese Pancake. I do come here to savor any of their three affordable Donburis. My new fave is the Butadon, a lean pork bowl with raw egg in Dohtonbori sauce. I also like the Katsudon and the ever-reliable, Gyudon.
Don’t forget to add the juicy Gyoza as your side dish. No need for sauce, it is super on its own.
Went here again for the second time and I am glad how consistent their great customer service is! We ordered kimchi and pork yakiniku, also 3-meat okonomiyaki with sets of rice meal. Their kotatsu-like tables are my favorite spot!💕
We had our family dinner at this branch. Surprisingly, we were able to get seats and assisted by the crew immediately. We got the cheesy pork and deluxe okonomiyaki which was heavy but delicious. We also got the chasu ramen, gyozas and edamame so we have something to eat while waiting for our okonomiyaki to be prepared.
Dohtonbori gives you a “Nihon” experience. Playing one of my favorite Japanese songs. 😊 Their okonomiyaki is commendable. Would like to come back and try their other menu.
Dohtonbori never fails to satisfy me.
Went here with a friend after an interview. As filling as the food was, she actually ended up getting the rest for takeout. Hehe. She couldn't finish it. If you've never tried okonomiyaki, this sure is a good place for an amazing first try. Anyway, on to our order:
Hamburg Cheese Steak Okonomiyaki:
Price: 4.5/5 (PHP380) - pricy but I mean, it's super worth it given the serving size. It's actually circular in size. We just had ours cut into 4.
Taste: 5/5 - NO KIDDING. Just downright amazeballs.
Japanese Rice 🍚
Price: 4/5 (PHP60/cup) - the usual price I guess
Taste: 4.5/5 - could have been a bit stickier for Jap rice.
The venue:
Ambience: 5/5 - very fitting and pretty Instagrammable
Cleanliness: 5/5
Customer Service: 5/5 Had no issues with the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating.
Serving Time: 4/5 - well... Great food does take some time.
Overall: 4.5/5 😊
Would definitely come back here without a doubt. Bring your friends and family! 😊❤

The place is so clean and wide, even the toilet, it is neat. The waiters and waitresses are nice and approachable too. Most of all, the food is so nice, especially for the cheese lovers.
Went here solely to try an Okonomiyaki and it was an experience!
We ordered a Butatama Okonomiyaki with Yakisoba Noodles as an add-on. It is my first time trying an Okonomiyaki so I figured it would be ideal to try its most basic variety, as advised by my companion. I did not know what to expect with its taste. It was sweet yet savoury and very filling.
We also ordered a Kalbi Yakiniku and a Miso Cheese Yaki Onigiri. It was really entertaining to have everything you've ordered made and cooked in front of you. Definitely coming back to try the other varierty of Okonomiyaki on their menu.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Customer Service:
1st dine-in experience was great! It was 2years ago. The crew who assisted us in making okonomiyaki is very friendly and jolly (she even let us cook the okonomiyaki), even the whole crew at that time are very lively. But on our 2nd dine-in (last month) it feels like they were about to end their shift, take note the time was around 12nn to 1pm, and their energy is very low. The crew who assisted us in making okonomiyaki doesn’t smile.
Food:
The food taste great! For those who like japanese food really would enjoy dining here.
Ambience:
The dining area is really nice. There is an area that you will seat on the floor and you will really feel the Japanese vibes with the help of Japanese music.

Dohtonbori offers a unique Japanese experience with their okonomiyaki and vibe. The food rates 5/5. The four-cheese okonomiyaki packs a punch. The mixed okonomiyaki and beef okonomiyaki are great as well.
Craving satisfied. The ambiance is good. They will greet you nicely in japanese way. Authentic japanese cake is superb delicious.
#japanesepancake #goodfood #withfriends
Favorite place to get Okonomiyaki.
-yumm
-value for money
not a Ramen restaurant but I prefer their ramen over the known and pricey Ramen places.
ordered and tried different food items from the menu even desserts
- all were great so far cant complain.
I've been here thrice and the ambiance is really nice. servers are nice and are willing to help, especially when cooking okonomiyaki (seriously, they make perfectly-shaped okos). the food is great, but mostly i recommend the four cheese okonomiyaki
Good ambience. Great food. Super yummy. Tried their best seller okomiyaki and it's so good! Nice place for a casual date. Will be back for sure.
Japanese cuisine is so broad that there’s a dish specific to one’s craving. When you feel like having Jap food but you’re not in the mood for ramen or sushi or katsu, how does okonomiyaki and teppanyaki sound??? In Dohtonbori, you can have just that! Here are the food we ordered:
🥓🍳 Butatama Okonomiyaki (Pork)
🧀🍳 Four Cheese Okonomiyaki
Dohtonbori specializes in okonomiyaki or Japanese savory pancakes. What I find interesting about this is how they present the dish to customers. Instead of serving it cooked, the dish is neatly arranged in a bowl in its raw form, allowing the diner to mix the ingredients and cook it themselves on the hot griddle on the table, or you can actually just seek assistance from their helpful staff to cook the dishes in front of you. I personally loved the Four Cheese Okonomiyaki!!! 😋
🥓🌶 Pork and Kimchi Yakiniku
I like the marriage of flavors in this dish. Eat it as is or with rice!
🥓🍜 Pork Yakisoba
Like the okonomiyaki, the raw ingredients are presented to you and either you or the staff will cook this in the teppan. This has pork slices, bean sprouts, cabbage, bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, noodles and savory sauce. Expect a burst of aroma when the sauce is poured!
🧀🍙 Miso Cheese Yaki Onigiri
This was a recommended dish from the friendly staff who assisted us. True enough, this is yummy! The onigiri (rice ball) is grilled on the teppan, then it is topped with cheese and miso sauce is poured over it
I am not a fan of okonomiyaki, but this place is worth the experience (Japanese ambiance at it's finest) and their service is worth the price! 💕
if you want to experience authentic japanese restaurant without paying too much this place is for you, good customer service, okonomiyaki experience is highly commendable,
Very accommodating staff.
The best-seller seafood okonomiyaki was great. The Japanese mayo, sauce, and fish flakes on it were yummy. It was so entertaining to watch being prepared teppanyaki-style.
The seafood yakisoba was good for five pax.
The gyoza preparation was cool, but ours were quite burnt. The taste was okay.
The calamari and the dip were heaven.
The bottomless iced tea - not too sweet nor sour. I had 3 glasses.
The spicy ramen was very tasty, but I couldnt take the heat of it.
I would definitely come back for the okonomiyaki experience.
Above par japanese food experience. Food was awesome, friendly and polite crew. They’ll be the one to cook the meal right in front of you, the place really resembles the japanese set up restaurants 😊
Japanese food is my favorite cuisine in the whole wide world. It’s on top of my list and Okonomiyaki is one Japanese food that I think I can live off of forever, well, probably. One of the best places where you can get the best okonomiyaki in the Philippines is at Dohtonbori. Dohtonbori is a restaurant that originated in Japan (over 300 stores in Japan, 4 in Bangkok, 1 in Taipei and 6 in the Philippines) and they specialize in everything and the most authentic okonomiyaki.
Their okonomiyaki was really great! Plus you get to create-prepare and cook your own okonomiyaki! I commend their servers since they were really nice, accommodating, and helpful! Since it was our first time, they though us how to prepare our food! It was a really great experience! Plus they have this awesome japanese store ambiance (and they have this area where you get to eat on the floor). Their ramen was also tasty. It was a bit pricey but i think that their food was really worth the price!
A few friends and I decided to meet up for dinner and have some Okonomiyaki since it’s been awhile that we enjoyed a good and authentic one. The flavor profiles of their mix is impeccable. It’s bursting with umami. It always reminds me of the really good ones we had in Osaka. Service is great as usual. Another great night of good eats.
Been here a couple of times and I can’t get enough of their okonomiyaki. The staffs were so attentive and even cooks for you. Can’t wait to be back.
If you’re looking for a delicious, yet affordable Japanese Resto then Dohntonbori is the place to be. I recommend getting their tonkatsu ramen & to try out their okinomiyaki. It was super delish! Definitely worth another visit :)
Hesitant at first that their version of okonomiyaki would be subpar to what I had in Osaka. Turns out I was worried for nothing! The batter was soft and goey, it was so good. They should serve bonito flakes though, not just the powder version. Still the okonomiyaki was just..yum. Ramen was bleh- too garlicky and oily. Of course its not their specialty so I'll forgive them for that. The kalbi beef was my best idea. I was surprised by how tender it was and the depth of its flavor. Trust me, you can do without the pork yakiniku, the cut was quite thick and the fat..hmm no thanks. For dessert, we had the cafe au lait. Normally, I wouldn't order one because I've always believed you should only get dessert from those who specialise on them. Suffice it to say, the cafe au lait was decent, a sort of pancake dessert. But for 300 bucks, I know of other dessert that would satisfy my sweet tooth. Overall, it was worth it. I'm definitely going back.
We suddenly had an okonomiyaki craving and decided to try out this restaurant. We've tried eating at Botejyu before and their okonomiyakis are roughly at the same price. But Dohtonbori's ambiance is better and the feeling of having to cook your own oko—and in our last meal, enjoy it on a tatami-floored japanese table—adds up to the worthwhile experience.
We tried their tendon too and it was okay, Tenya is still my fave though for Tempura Donburis ✌🏼
Yakiniku is tender and is cooked too in the teppan.
We'll surely come back for more.
My boyfriend and I had dinner here last wednesday. We ordered pepper kalbi, pork yakiniku, okonomiyaki with pepper kalbi (not sure about the meat anymore.), rice with miso soup and bottomless iced tea. Total bill was around 1,700.
We were seated in the japanese room. That time a family was having a bday celebration and we were the only ones not part of the guests. Haha. I think they shouldn't have seated as there. :/ kinda felt weird that every body knew everyone except us.
Food: food was average. Nothing special.
-Yay for the rice as it was authentic japanese rice so a bowl is enough to make you feel full already.
-Bottomless iced tea was house blend but kinda too sweet for my taste.
-Meat, nothing special. The pork was too salty so you cant eat it on its own.
-okonomiyaki- I didn't expect it to taste average as the server recommended it and I was sure it was a specialty. Oh well. It tasted like regular mixed veggies, I wont spend 300 for it. On the plus side, it may look small but my bf and I weren't able to finish it (we shared 1pc only).
-FREE DESSERT (matcha ice cream)- if you design your okonomiyaki they'll give you a free dessert of either matcha or vanilla ice cream. I chose matcha. The ice cream was creamy and you wont taste the bitterness of matcha at first but it will leave a lingering after taste which is kinda surprising in a good way. Out of everything we ordered this is what I liked best.
Service- I would have rated the place 3 stars because I was not impressed considering everything was a bit pricey BUT im gonna give it 4 stars just because the staff were accommodating. They will cook for you and everything is timed so your food wont get burnt. They make recommendations and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. Plus, ate girl even made the okonomiyaki design for me because I suck at everything. Poor me.
Note: There was a big cockroach in the japanese room and it caused a bit of commotion. Do I think the staff neglected their duties? No. There are things beyond their control and a strolling cockroach is one of them. :)
The food is as good as their place! I brought my family here to eat for the first time and they enjoyed not just the place but as well as the food. Guaranteed to come back to try the other dishes!
It’s definitely an experience to try eating here because of their Japanese style dining (sitting on the floor). They also have the normal table and couches if you’re not fond of taking off your shoes and dining on the floor.
Food was great. I recommend sukiyaki, chicken karaage, and hamburg cheese steak. Most of their menu are cooked in front you (they will do all the cooking dont worry). It’s a bit time consuming but it’s a fun experience to see your food being prepared.
Service was okay. It’s sometimes hard to find a waiter to accommodate your need. Our waiter even misheard our order, and when we asked for it to be change they said they couldn’t change it back.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining here. Prices are quite expensive but worth it. Ambience is really nice, you’d really feel you’re in a japanese restaurant.
August 10, 2018 We didn't order any okonomiyaki. Instead we had the following yakiniku:
Garlic Angus Striploin Steak - yummmmmminesssss perfectly marbled meat which came with butter garlic that the server melted on top of the meat when she was cooking it
Kalbi yakiniku - thin strips of beef with a sweet savory taste.
Chicken Shio - I love this. It by far took the longest to cook but when it was finished it was soooo delicious. The skin was crispy but not as oily of course as when it's deep fried. The inside was so tender and juicy. They also covered this with a metal dome while it was cooking.
Grilled Salmon Chanchan - the salmon and veggies were inside a foil packet. Also soooo delicious.
Rice and Miso Soup Combo - for 90 pesos you can get both a bowl of rice and soup, good deal! Puppycat and I had this.
Tempura Zaru Soba - Deckard was already half way through this dish by the time I wanted to take a picture so no pics for that. It's delicious awesome too.
Unlimited Iced tea and coke - the price of the Iced tea and sodas whether unlimited or not is the same for 150 pesos.
We enjoyed our dinner here so much. The only downside is the smell of the food really sticks to your hair and clothes.
There's an option to cook your own meat but we decided to just let them do it for us. The service was excellent, the wait staff are quick on their feet and friendly. Special mention also goes to Cristy who cooked our yakiniku.
The restaurant's mascot is so funny looking too, it resembles a chubby Swiper from Dora the Explorer.
Great Place! We shall return.
This was the first time my family tried this resto. Since I am with my niece who has been here before she ordered for us. The place is nice really Japanese inspired and pang instagram ika nga. Then we opted to choose yung table na parang Japanese style with cushion. It was comfortable since we don't have to sit on our legs kasi may space under the table where your legs can relax. So here are the food that we ordered, for the two kids they got Pork Stamina-don, karaage and calamari. While we ordered what their resto is familiar for, their okonomiyaki (3 meat), then we had the 3 meat yakisoba which took them so long to cook and pork yakiniku. Overall the food is great then we enjoyed it to the last pieces. The downside was that the service was slow probably because they have lots of clients. They even forgot that we have our second order of pork yakiniku that they just leve it their and not one approached to cook it for us. When my husband called the attention of one staff she said to my husband we could have cooked it instead. We ordered bottomless ice tea and it took them forever to deliver, the kids have already started eating and we still do not have our drinks, refill was slow too. I could have given them a rating of 4.5 to 5 if not for their service. Will try their other branch as for the food taste it us superb😊
As a person who absolutely loves okonomiyaki ever since I was able to taste one and knowing that there exists a restaurant that specializes in okonomiyaki, I knew I had to try Dohtonbori!
I would have wanted to have an okonomiyaki all to myself but since I was with a group, we decided to share their Kiwami Iberico Pork Okonomiyaki and Hiroshima Yaki. For my solo order, I had their Chashu Ramen since I was craving for ramen at that time. Although, while their ramen was good enough, it didn't quite satisfy me unlike the 2 slices each I had of our shared okonomiyaki.
Seeing the fresh ingredients and watching the crew cook the okonomiyaki right in front of you is a tease for the tastebuds. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water so bad! Can't wait to go back and this time around, I'll really have one whole okonomiyaki all to myself!
Didn’t think that okonomiyaki would be great paired with rice to make it a full meal until I tried it here. The experience was great learning more about okonomiyaki and having it done in front of you.
Just not a big fan of places having to grill food in front of you because the smell will stick to your clothes afterwards and this branch in particular needed bigger exhaust and more air conditioning in my opinion.
This place is legit 👌🏻
Modern Yaki is a bit zesty for my taste but I love it
Sukiyaki best selection
Umigo Okonomiyaki is my favorite😌
Service staff were approachable and accomodating
If you're looking for the best and legit okonomiyaki go here!
Will I come back next time? 100%
Will I recommend this place to my friends / colleagues: 100%
Dohtonbori's okonomiyaki is their specialty for a reason. It's actually bigger than I anticipated, and would definitely serve two people. The only problem is, it took them half an hour to finish cooking the food. Although the showmanship and "cooking food in front of you" concept is there, you'd have to set aside time for this restaurant. We actually ate here during our 1 hour lunch period, and it was not the brightest idea. The food's really good, though!
The okonomiyaki was mediocre and the service was too slow. It almost took them half an hour to finish cooking it. Get ready to smell like okonomiyaki for the rest of the day as well.
This place can be intimidating from the outside but once you get in, the ambience is really cozy and laidback. I suggest trying their signature okonomiyaki. The taste is really remarkable. I enjoyed watching how they prepare it right in front of you. The katsudon was also good too. As for the ramen, it was a bit of a letdown for me since the serving was too small for its price. Overall, it's not for those on a budget but it's worth the price. I'm definitely gonna come back and try other food on their menu.
For a casual dinner out with friends, we decided to try out this place. It was my first time to eat here and I have a quite high expectations for this Japanese resto. To start with, the place will give you an authentic Japanese vibe. As for the food, their specialty is Okonomiyaki, so we decided to order a group meal for four persons which includes this dish, this costs approx 2000Php. It includes a variety of grilled beef and pork meat, Vegetable salad, rice, noodles, gyoza and iced tea for the drinks. I must say that each one of this dish really tastes good on its own, plus I really like their staff, very accommodating, I would definitely recommend this place👍👌❤
I was craving for Okonomiyaki so i heard this resto offers a wide array of okonomiyaki combinations. At the same time i was hungry after working from 8 to 4:30pm. I asked my bro to accompany me to the nearest dohtonbori branch.
Everything was good 👌👍💕
The price is very reasonable for the depth of flavor and the vibe of the resto. Staffs greet you upon entering and when it was time to leave. One thing i appreciate is that they used authentic japanese rice. This makes all the difference. Some restaurants dupe it's costumers in saying they serve japanese rice but instead substitute it for a lesser quality rice. My praises are up above! I enjoyed the 4 cheese okonomiyaki, stamina-don , chicken karaage and the chi-zu lemon (japanese cocktail). Also try their house ice tea( this one is brewed and not to sweet, kinda like sweet tea) all is good!! Will be back!
My first ever japanese restaurast and it deserve a good review!
The ambiance is pretty amazing! It really felt like dining in japan. The staff were very accommodating and they speak japanese (basic).
We were all excited to taste their dishes and as a first timer we do appreciate the help of the staff assisting us in choosing our orders. We tried their OKONOMIYAKI - Hamburg Cheese Steak, it is like a burger in vegetable bun with cheese on top that made it really good; Four Cheese Okonomiyaki, it is like a takoyaki in pancake like and I loved the mayonnaise on top. A thumbs up also to their AJITAMA RAMEN, perfect! We also tried Zaru Soba, it taste okay but we did not enjoy that much especially its noodle is cut in small pieces. Lastly, we tried their group meal that comes in (3)three types of marinated meat - pork, chicken and beef.
We had our dinner here and ordered Hamburg Cheese Steak and Four Cheese Okonomiyaki. Both Okonomiyaki were delicious but I like Hamburg Cheese Steak more. They were served in generous portion and each okonomiyaki can be shared by 2-3 persons. It was big enough to make you full.
It was almost store closing time and we were the last customers who went inside but we were fortunate to be given a VIP treatment by the Manager in charge that time.
She allowed us to dine in and she was the one who cooked Okonomiyaki in front of us. She was one of those being sent to Japan to have proper training in grilling on iron plate. She showed us exceptional customer service. Salute!
My family likes the ambiance specially the area with mirrors & artificial bamboo tree. My daugthers like the ramen and the spicy pork bbq. For onokomiyaki their mayo is somewhat overpowering in taste.
Ambience - 4/5
Onokomiyaki - 3/5
Spicy pork bbq with kimchi - 4/5
Ramen - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Dohtonbori is one of our favorite restaurants. We decided to try their MOA branch.
The place is bigger than some of their branches that we've been too, and it's good that they have multiple stand fans to help with the ventilation. We still went out smelling like okonomiyaki and smoke and food but that's okay.
Today we tried their pepper kalbi okonomiyaki, cheesy pork okonomiyaki, and pork and kimchi yakiniku.
Everything was really great and filling. :)
The staff are attentive and friendly. The restroom is clean and we love the interiors. They also have a bigger tatami room than their branches in SM North, UP Town, and Greenhills.
This place is home to great Japanese food and awesome Customer Service. We went there to have a dinner on a Saturday night. We tried their Angus beef steak, Chicken Karage and their Okonomiyaki and none of them disappoint. The feel of the whole place brings an authentic Japanese vibe and the service and alertness of the staffs made them an easy pick for a go to place to eat if you happen to be in Mall of Asia.
It's a lovely place, it has that old Japanese vibe on the interiors. Food is great, they have a friendly staff. It's not cheap though, just bring some extra "okane" with you so you could fully enjoy what they offer in the menu.
Good food. Friendly staff. Our main reason of coming back almost weekly. If you love Japanese food, you should try it. Ambiance is relaxing. Oh shoot! By writing this makes me imagine their food and now I'm starving. 🤤
First time trying okonomiyaki and I figured, why not try it out here.
Let me just say, that the store is deceptively@ larger in the inside. I particularly enjoyed the ambience in it and the arch going further into the store was a huge plus in my books.
But this is not about the ambiance but the food. I ordered a rice set and a Hiroshima yaki. While you might feel like it takes forever for the food to be cooked but it was worth it. The servers, who also cook for you, pay attention to what you particularly want (They spoke simple Japanese phrases to each other and they explained what each ingredient was and the procedure).
But it is time for the food. My Hiroshima Yaki was absolutely great. The red pickles mixed quite well with the cabbages and the Japanese mayo gave a different taste to the egg and the okonomiyaki sauce. It was quite filling that the rice set was no longer needed. The server even told us that okonomiyaki was the main meal and would usually be eaten with yakinuku, rather than rice.
All in all, I can recommend going here if you want to try some okonomiyaki in your life. It's worth the price. Except for the tiramisu, my friends got bamboozled. But this is my review, not theirs.
🔹Food:
Pepper Kalbi BBQ Okonomiyaki - 4/5
It is delicious and i like how they cooked it in front of their customers. I ordered it with Rice set (Rice & Miso soup). Sadly, you will need to wait for 20mins just for this yummy piece to be cooked.
Tonkotsu Ramen - 5/5
Unexpectedly delicious! We have tried different ramens of different Japanese restaurants and so far, this was best.
Bottomless Houseblend Iced tea - 3/5
🔹Service - 3/5
The servers were not attentive enough. I don't like how i need to ask for utensils and straw even after they already served the food and drinks.
🔹Ambiance - 5/5
Feels like you are really in Japan. You choose if you want to eat sitting on the floor or the normal chair and table.
Best place for DIY okonomiyaki. Service is good. Food is great. And the passageway (portal) leading to the main area of the resto is my favorite part. Although maybe the waiting time of ingredients to be delivered to every table can be reduced. Perhaps we came in at the busy hours of the day but I hope they can improve on the waiting time because we waited for almost 30 minutes in between dishes to be delivered to our table. we will come back. Went there for Dinner in Early January, 2018. Restaurant has very good ambience and staff members are very attentive & cooperative to the queries.
They have two options in seating. You can either sit on the tables or they have special area where you can sit on the mats.
All the seating places have there own grilling tables.
I had ordered Salmon Fried Rice with Ice Tea.
One of the Staff Member cooked the Dish from the scratch. It felt good to see his style while cooking.
Fried Rice was simple and looked really well with few ingredients also.
Taste was good. But the serving size seemed little less. Would love to visit again. 😊
I’ve been so loyal to Dohtonbori, I like the ambiance (4/5), employees (4/5), and the food (4/5). If you’re looking for cheap yet authentic japanese dishes, which are sooo delicious, I suggest that you try out Dohtobori. However, if you’re on the go or really hungry, This resto is not for you. Serving time might take longer than the usual depends on the food that you order. I also like the part where you either cook or they cook the meal for you.
Food: 4.5/5 - I’m a fan of anything Japanese especially the food. I have tried the Hiroshima Yaki Mix (this has noodles and veggies), Modern Yaki Mix (BACON), Yakiniku (Pork), and for dessert, the Quattro Formaggi. The food makes me want to dance whenever I eat. The seasonings are all so authentic, just like what I had back in Japan.
Service: 5/5 - If you are a first timer, the crew would be the one to cook your Okonomiyaki. But they provide instructions on how to do it if you want to try cooking. I just let the crew cook for us to avoid any unwanted cooking fails.
Ambiance: 4/5 - This place can be really crowdy but I can assure that the food is worth the wait. You can also choose if you want to sit in the tatami ala Japanese style. This is worth the try to much feel the authenticity of the place.
Value: 4.5/5 💕
First time to try okonomiyaki here at Dohtonbori. I really like it at first bite. The sticky version of it, monjayaki is hard to eat. Haha. Need to wait the food to be toasted a lil bit then scrape it to eat. Love their mayo! 😂😂😂
Loved their Okonomiyaki! It was sweet and savory. We also ordered their Radish Seaweed Salad and it was really good.
The service was okay but I wish the staff is a little bit faster.

OKONOMIYAKI 101💚
Only place where I can appreciate japanese foods.
5/5 for their foods. First bite to the okonomiyaki, I can say that it is one of the yummiest food I ever taste. I also love their chicken shio, it is well-seasoned. A kpop fan for almost 8 years yet I still don't really like the taste of kimchi😂 I don't know why we ordered kimchi pork monja but still it tastes good. It's just that I can't eat too many of it. We also try their pork yakisoba and seriously it makes me want to eat there again and again.
4.5/5 for the ambiance. It feels like we are in japan when eating there.
3/5 for the service. I kinda expect that it would take long but not too long that I am very hungry na. I almost want to eat our take-out pizza😭
I’ve tried Okonomiyaki before, but first time to have it cooked in front of me. Try not to come in hungry because aside from the several minutes it takes being seated, ordering, and prepping your Okonomiyaki, it takes 20 minutes more for the dish to get cooked.
I had the Cheesy Pork Okonomiyaki (php260), and Rice Set (rice & miso soup, php90). It was good!
Servers were nice. House tea was complimentary, hot or cold.
The best Okonomiyaki in town! 🙌🏻
Definitely recommending their Okonomiyakis - I had the Hiroshima-Yaki. It’s the best Okonomiyaki for me that I have tasted here in PH. It’s crepe was not lousy and was really stuffed unlike the others.
What’s also interesting and great about this place is that they’re gonna cook what you’ve ordered right in front of you. So yes, you’ll see how it’s done. Even the dumplings, they’ll be steaming it in front of you 😅
The ambience of the place is a 10/10. It’s makes you feel you’re eating in Japan.
And a word of warning, DON’T TOUCH THE CAT!
I love the ambiance of this dohtonbori branch. Their price is reasonable and perfect for groups. When it comes to food, never miss their okonomiyaki! It's the best one I've tasted so far :)
The best ramen in town is in DOHTONBORI ❤️ Plus the super sarap na yakiniku! I love coming back in DOHTONBORI MALL OF ASIA 💘 Kuddos to the very nice and approachable staff's. #TonkotsuRamen #PorkYakiniku
My 5th Dohtonbori visit and this time I am brave enough to cook my own Okonomiyaki! Yey! Food choices are mostly good for sharing even their Ramen. They have reasonable prices, staffs are attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place. Dohtonbori will not disappoint you!
It was our first time but we had a really great experience. Nice place. It looks small from the outside but the inside was really spacious. Good food for a very affordable price. Each serving is good for two or more people. Would definitely come back here. Oishii 🎌
It's been my 2nd time here and i never go wrong with my all time favorite chicken karaage. Its a bit pricey though but the taste and quality is worth it. You can cook your own okonomiyaki or you can ask the staff to do it for you. The only thing i didn't like is their yakisoba noodles its a bit tough and chewy. Nice japanese ambiance but expect to smell like smoke at the end of your meal because of the teppanyaki grills downside is they have no ventilation for that.
Okonomiyaki is ❤️
First time to try here and my sister and I truly enjoyed the show of cooking okonomiyaki in front of us. We ordered the one with pork and cheese also their yakisoba and miso soup. A bit pricey for me but the experience was good. Should we come back? Yes of course!
I can't say any better to the taste of the food that we ordered, they were excellent. It was actually our first time to try Japanese Pancakes and it was so good, it's called okonomiyaki. We got the mixed okonomiyaki and kimchi pork. However, the service and staff were not really a 5 for me because it felt like all of them were not accomodating, we were waiting outside to be seated and the employees who already finished the shift talked in front of us like there's no customers waiting.
I really love the food. It was so delicious. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the service was good too. Will definitely go back. 👍🏼❤️
FOOD - 4.75 / 5
I've been to this restaurant thrice already and one thing is for sure - their food is super yummy! Our usual orders would be: Mixed Okonomiyaki (with extra cheese) and Pork Yakiniku, both of which are really good! Their Yakisoba is also commendable 🤤 Their Ajitama ramen, Katsudon, and Tempura are average at best.
CLEANLINESS - 3 / 5
From our latest experience (today, 20th of August 2017), my mother saw an average-sized cockroach under the table at the tatami mat area. While it wasn't really found in the food, it's a big no-no in this industry. I didn't rate it extremely low because I didn't see creepy crawlies in my previous visits.
PRICE - 4 / 5
For this type of establishment and the quality of food and service, I think the price is quite fair. Approximately Php 1,000 for 2-3 people.
CUSTOMER SERVICE - 4 / 5
I experienced great customer service during my first two visits. The third time, however, was slightly disappointing. They didn't come back on time for the Okonomiyaki and it almost burnt. The water refill also took some time.
OVERALL RATING: 3.94 rounded up to 4 out of 5
Good food. Good service. The staff is very accomodating and we're lucky we have a spot on the chabudai table. They've been accomodating on preparing the food and cooking it since we dont know how to cook japanese cuisine. The garlic angus striploin was by far my favorite yakiniku set. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Okonomiyaki is a type of Japanese cooking. It involves a mish mash of ingredients and cooked like a pancake. Eggs are used to bind the ingredients together. I had the traditional mix with noodles, pork, squid, octopus, cabbage and egg. The wait staff can help you cook it. Eggs though was a must. For the price, a delicious and satisfying meal. And I'm 6ft tall and I eat a lot. The servings were adequate for me.
I'd go back.
A fast-paced dining experience
The crew was generally polite and accommodating. The queue to wait for a seat took at most around 10 minutes. We were seated on a somewhat traditional set-up wherein shoes had to be taken off.
The place is mostly known for their okonomiyaki, which basically is similar to takoyaki, however in a pancake-like form. The novelty of this restaurant is that your waiter will also prepare/cook the okonomiyaki on the built-in griddle on your table. They'd start off with mixing your choice of mixed meats into some batter, then place it on the griddle for about 7 and a half minutes per side. It was finished off with a glaze of Teriyaki sauce, and some Japanese mayo on top. The okonomiyaki did not disappoint, and did not merely taste like a giant flattened takoyaki ball you'd find on your usual food court. The flavor of the batter was not that overpowering, in such a way that it actually highlighted the flavors of the different meats present in it.
We also had some karaage and gyoza, which were also both good. The karaage was not smothered in too much batter, having the right balanced bite of crispiness and juiciness. The seasoning was simple, and went well with the teriyaki sauce and a squeeze of lemon. The gyoza on the other hand was steamed on the griddle, and had a good balance of the meaty flavor and chives. Other gyozas tend to be over powered by the chives.
Though the quick service and good food is commendable, the place had a few reception issues which is my only complaint about my dining experience here. Nevertheless, a place I may want to eat at again.
Great food. Great ambience. Very Unique
My family and I enjoyed our experience here. Although, if the servings were a bit bigger i would've rate a 5.
Would still recommend this to my friends.
**there's a secret drawer to put your stuff or place your feet; which we enjoyed very much 😁😁😁
If you would like to experience the japanese style of eating then this a place for you. You will be greeted with their friendly staff and will look for a place for you and your friends. I recommend that you choose the inner part of the resto since it is like a japanese home. The food that I've ordered taste good and their tea is a plus too. Their staff will also assist you in cooking your chosen dish.
Got to love the ambiance and the fast customer service! Also, the quality of the food is great as well. Looking forward to our next visit here ❤️
The entrance connecting the outer tables to the inner part of the outlet has got to be one of my favorites. It had a faux jap garden. The price was reasonable. Paid about Php 700.00 for two people and it was good. Definitely coming back! 👌
Okonomiyaki is really good, first time we tried it and will surely comeback. They will cook it in your table and served hot. The yakiniku's variety are awesome too, my husband likes the pork with garlic and butter sauce.
This is seriously one of the best Japanese Restau ever! It would have been a 5 if the waiting line is not that looooong. And I mean really long.. like you have to wait for 20-35mins (I think it depends on how many you are going to dine) cos in our case, it's just my mom and I.
The warm greetings, cool Japanese ambiance and the way the food is cooked in front of you is clearly the best notes on this restau.
They even have a separate place wherein you can eat sitting like a Japanese or if you opt to dangle them below. (Yes, there's a huge space below the table). You can also drink here! They serve alcoholic drinks.
I love all the food that we ordered but what catches me is the pork cooked in butter. It looks really plain but maaaan the taste is sooooo satisying! 😋
I will surely go back! Thanks for bringing this to the Philippines!
Very nice place. Good service. Wide selection of okonomiyaki. Servings are good for sharing so we only paid around 500 and we're two. Large serving of ramen as well.

Food taste great plus points for their unli japanese mayo and for the superb service. ❤❤❤ Will definitely come back for more, and try their other food entries.
Serving is very good. Staff are accomodating. The experience is like eating the famous Japanese cuisine, Okonomiyaki in Japan. Ambience is very satisfying and cravings are at a very reasonable price.
