We've always loved Kimono Ken, so we usually end up eating here when we are in the area. We would sometimes be seated outside al fresco area when we have our dog with us. Servers are attentive, but not quite as attentive when you are inside the restaurant.
Ambiance is ok, utensils are clean. Food are served immediately. We love their salad, maki and Gomoku ramen. We tried the spam maki this time and loved it.
Price is great, not too expensive so it's an ideal place for family lunch or dinners. We'll definitely come back :)
The staff was okay. The food was good. The ramen had a lot of servings and the maki was so good I had to order more. I would go back here again if it wasn’t that pricey.
Never doubted the place! Service at its best! The staffs were accommodating. The food was perfect! No words can express my happiness dining at any Kimono Ken outlet!
Brought my girl here and she loved almost everything. Their gyoza was delicately made it could pass as authentic. She had the gyudon and it has generous amount of beef in it (she also gave plus points because of the japanese rice). I had their pork katsudon in curry sauce and i would say it was good!
We also loved their idea of water conservation. Clever 👍🏼
Love their food. Attentive staffs who always greet you. Ambiance and space is good. Everytime we go here there's a lot of people however they can easily accommodate you due to their big space.
Blue Baywalk is a pretty chill place to be at, and Kimono Ken is one of the restaurants in the area. The place is a bit small and maximized so the tables are quite near each other; it can also be crowded at night, hence, a bit noisy. It's not too bad, but not exactly the place you go to if you want a quiet, relaxed evening. More of, craving-for-Japanese-food-and-must-have-them-at-an-affordable-price-right-away. Food's alright. Service is okay, although at times it is difficult to call the attention of servers.
Great ambiance and setting. The service is very good, you don't have to wait a long time for your orders. Enjoyed the california maki as well as the Philadelphia sushi. They used fresh and tasty shrimps for the tempura. The price was a bit upscale but I can say it was worth it.
I just keep coming back for their cowboy roll! Service is good but when the place gets full, expect your order in more than half an hour. Food quality is average, nothing to rave about.
I keep forgetting the names of the dishes we ordered, but I do agree thay kimono ken claims to bring affordable japanese food with good quality.
We ordered a lot that night, and left no leftovers. I guess the food was pretty good for that standard. Loved the california maki, philadelphia maki, and the spicy salmon maki. The gyozas were also great, not the cheap kind. The chicken teriyaki rice was delicious, it's the kind that I like, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Also ordered. Gyu hireniku, had it medium rare and loved how tender and juicy it was. The rest is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Service was impeccable as well. I would definitely come back for the makis, gyu hireniku, and the rice bowls.
Affordable contemporary Japanese dish. I love their uni so much.. Great for a late night dinner after work. Itadakimasu! I tried their Kani tamadon a Deep fried breaded crab stick mixed with egg. and Gyudon a thinly sliced beef with vegetable in donburi sauce and my all time fave California maki and uni.
One of my fav Japanese restaurant👍👍👍👍👍👍
Always dine here with the gang😊😁😊😁
i love all the salads,ramen👍👍👍👍👍
specially donburi's😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Food:
We ordered quite a number of dishes but only one dish stood out as surprisingly yummy: the agedashi tofu.
Service: We were there in a Saturday night at 7:30. It did not take long for our food to be served.
Price: Despite the fair price, I don't like that they charge a service charge. For this, I will not likely go back. I will patronize food establishments which are honest who factor in all the fees at the menu price.
Another go to place for Japanese food lovers. I really like that this particular branch is located overlooking the park in Bluebaywave. The place is big and spacious and the wait staff are friendly and accommodating. The menu prices are a bit high but the quality and the quantity of the servings are good.
They have a wide range of Japanese food to choose from. So we had the ebi (shrimp) katsudon, kisu (asuhos) tempura and chahan or japanese fried rice. We also tried the Kimono Ken's Special drink and Iced Tea. The Kimono Ken's Special is a mix of different fruit juices, i think their version of a four season juice drink. The ebi katsudon is good, but i believe it could be better. The kisu tempura was really light and crispy.
I was a bit disappointed that they are not anymore offering their bento meals. which i had tried many years ago. But the food still taste the same, and with so many choices to choose from, one can definitely come back again and again.
If i am not mistaken this is the first branch of Kimono Ken then next is in Tomas Morato. Aside from sahimis and sushis their salad is awesome. I am craving for my two favorites, Kani and Spicy Maguro Salad. I love their Ebi Tempura, Chiecken Terriyaki best with Chahan rice.
If you're craving for Japanese food and your in the Bluewave area, then this would be the perfect place to satisfy you if you do not want to splurge. Prices of the food here are reasonable. My top choices would be the shoyu ramen, ebi tempura and katsudon.
It was lunch time and since we’re a big group (15 pax+), we couldn’t find a restaurant at Blue Bay Walk that can accommodate us all. Good thing we stumbled upon Kimono Ken and the staff arranged a special long table for us near the entrance.
Place is a bit dark inside and temperature is warm. It’s a bit crowded too since a lot of people are still lining up outside to check if there are still available tables inside.
I felt like eating ramen that time so I ordered their Negi Ramen. The server was accommodating enough to grant my request of not making my noodles too spicy. Serving size is very acceptable given that you’re only paying P250 bucks. Other ramen places that I’ve tried usually have an average cost of P350 per order. Taste is good and I will definitely go back to try other food items!
Been here once with my family. We were happy with everything we tried. We ordered Sakana fry (dory fish wt tartar sauce). Tofu steak (veryyy soft and the sauce was very tasty). Crunchy chicken teriyaki. Chicken cheese roll (just like cordon bleu). Bacon Asparagus maki (my favorite). Spam musubi (also my favorite). And Seafood Teppan (my dad's favorite). Everything was so good i just wanted to stuff everything in my mouth hahahaha. I also love their mango shake.
Place/crew: Very fancy. They gave my little brother a special pair of chopsticks-- perfect for kids who couldn't use chopsticks yet.
The place is fancy, good place for family dinner. Their ramen is tastes quite bland but still a good one. What I really like abou their food is their sushi.
Chicco Villon Reodava
+3.5
The restaurant offers good service. It's a Japanese restaurant, however the food isn't authentic Japanese which means it's been measured to accomodate the Filipino taste bud that tends to go for the saltiness. I didn't say it was bad--it's actually good food as long as you know what to order. I definitely recommend 'Asparagus Mayo Spaghetti' and their 'CRUNCHY Chicken Teriyaki'. I'd stay away from 'Negi Ramen' and their fried rice specialties.
Kimono Ken serves affordable Japanese food. My personal favorite is the Gyudon. While my husband orders nothing else but the Beef Curry Rice. I also like the shoyu ramen, the ebi tempura, the kani salad, the breaded cream dory fillet, the california maki. Oh don't forget to try their house special fruit shake (I forgot the title), it's really refreshing. The waiters are efficient and polite.
