Although this place is smaller compared to most of their branches, I wouldn't exchange it for these big ones, foremost reason is the accessibility of waiters when you need assistance asap. They are friendlier too. The menu may not be as elaborate as the other branches but what I want to eat are all there.
Quality over quantity. This pretty sums up the experience we had when we dined in this TYP outlet. There were only around 10 viands available for the buffet. The grill and hotpot choices were just the right amount. I especially like the teriyaki beef strips for grilling as well as the Singaporean fish ball -- so fresh! Baked goods and Ice cream were delightful endings to the meal. Employees were courteous, helpful and alert. No wonder southern peeps make this a go-to joint for their hotpot and grill cravings. So if you happen to be shopping in SM Sucat, drop by TYP and eat to your heart's delight.
Highly recommend this place, but make sure to have your reservations ahead of time.
✔️Affordale
✔️Lots of food choices
✔️Accommodating staff
❌ No Sushi for a japanese buffet
Place is clean and well lit. Moreover, it is the closest branch to my house.
Service is good, especially from one of the female managers who is always ready to assist with a smile.
Food is great. Love the Sinigang and Saté and the variety of hot pot and grill.
We’ve been meaning to try Tong Yang Plus since a branch opened near us; we just never got the chance to. But it was my birthday recently and I thought it was as good a reason as any to finally try them.
Tong yang plus is under Vikings umbrella company so their buffet spread is generous and varied. You can either grill or shabu-shabu. They have plenty of hotpot to choose from, laksa, sinigang, tom yum etc. They have also japanese and chinese spread, dumplings, tempura and dessert! I love their famous avocado ice cream!
This branch is clean, very organized & not too crowded during weekdays. I called their central reservations hotline & they are very accommodating. They even made a follow-up & hold my slot even its beyond grace period.
Their buffet rack is very organized though there are limited serving on display its easy to ask the servers to refill what you want. I don't have to ask about the hotpot menu because they automatically ask and presented the choices & change the wax paper on the grill from time to time. There are wide array of seafood, sausages, clams, meat (on request), dimsums, fresh fruits, dessert, drinks, etc. I especially like their avocado ice cream!!!
Our experience was great and will definitely come back. Glad that this place is near our place.
If you're looking for an affordable yet satisfying shabu shabu & grill experience, I'd recommend Tong Yang.
There's not much variety of food like in other buffet restaurants, but for a price of 595, the choice of food is not bad.
One thing I didn't like is their hakaw - it tasted kinda weird and had an after taste. 🤐
The service was great though. The staff were very accommodating like the time they ran out of shrimp tempura and I was waiting for it to be cooked, the chef kindly suggested to me that he'll serve the tempura to our table instead.
So I still had a great experience here and I'd definitely come back. 😊
