My soon to be wife reserved seats for my family and friends on my birthday in 2018. Aug 4, we are back because their food is fantastic and worth to be revisited. Service is white-glove and staffs are very attentive. Their beancurd and hakaw are to die for. Will I come back, of course. My go-to Chinese resto in BF Pque.

Food was very refreshing and taste really really good. We tried the salt and pepper spareribs (though not spicy), the shrimp Hakaw is my fave as well as the emperor’s rice. Their small size can serve up to 3 people. The congee’s are affordable, they serve it in big bowl.

Jellyfish w century egg - always been one of my staple orders. It tasted different this most recent time i ordered though. It is overly salty/sweet that it doesn't have that natural jellyfish taste it used to have
Spareribs w tausi - did NOT look like the usual spareribs u order. Looked like fish and tasted like chewy chicken. I didnt really know how to feel about this
Lechon kawali - crunchy skin but kinda tough meat
Salt and Pepper squid - a constant order of mine. Always so well-seasoned and beautifully fried to a steady crisp
Barbecued Pork - dry, but had a good, somewhat very hong kong-style taste to it
Fried noodles w Lo Han vegetables - always has been very tasty and savory. Good for filling up your stomach
Beef in black pepper sauce - i feel like it was cut a bit thicker than i expected so it got kind of tougher than it was supposed to be. Good flavor though

My favorite time to come over is between 2pm-5pm where they have 20% discount on their dimsum, mami, and congee's. I recommend their taro puff, Hakaw, siomai, and congee. For the plain congee it's only 30 pesos for the big bowl and imagine at 20% discount it only comes out as 24 pesos. One of my favorite dimsum places.
We also order their half peking duck at 800 pesos. We have it skinned and minced. Its very good.

We always get intimitated in this restaurant because of the fine dining vibes! Outside you can see live fishes and shrimps swimming in an aquarium! The really serve fresh seafood! My all time favorite is their siomai!! The food is really pricey and just perfect for family gathering! We went there on a Sunday night, and of course the restaurant was full! Since the restaurant is jampacked during weekends, they forgot our orde which is the Hot Pot! They keep on saying, “parating na po” pero hindi pala naluto so we cancelled it cos we were about to finish our dinner! My parents were craving for it pa naman. I think servers should take down twice and double check if each orders were served!
Mandarin Palace is my go to place for quality dimsum in the south. They have a dimsum cart that goes around all day and a very good roasting selection. Their dimsum goes on promo during the off hours so perfect for a midday dimsum run.

Solid, unpretentious and reliable restaurant in the south for Chinese comfort dishes. Their roasts (especially the duck) are exceptional. Went with some cousins and we pigged out on a lot of dishes, including roast duck, warm prawn salad, Chinese beef tenderloin, spinach soup, salt and pepper squid, special fried rice, taro puff (so good!), bamboo clams and of course, dimsum such as har gaw and siopao. All very very good, and the price point is great for what you get. This is a BF Homes legend.
One of our favorite spots in BF Homes. You can count on this place to serve quality Chinese food. One of the best sweet and sour pork in the Philippines.
The birds nest soup is a great healthy way to start the meal. With all the classic Chinese dishes perfectly executed, you won’t go wrong with any dish you order. Typical of our family meal is the fried rice, broccoli with 4 kids of mushroom, and dimsum. On special occasions, the birthday noodles rock. We particularly enjoy the mochi to end the meal.
For excellent service, look for Marvin. He has been there forever and always is happy to serve you.

My fave chinese resto in Bf area. Been eating here since, i think, 2010. Aside from this one, they used to have a small dimsum place along President's ave, also in bf.
Dimsums are binondo-authentic. Place is always packed. Here you can find the cheapest peking duck, 680/half. They also have a promo for shabu-shabu.
My friend and I ordered half of the peking duck (one-way), pork siomai, spare ribs dimsum and their mouth-watering beancurd roll. Endless house tea was served during our meal. Its always a pleasant meal here.
Service is fast considering there's a lot of diners.

The food here was great. I came with my husband here for the first time because he heard lots of reviews from Korean community regarding this restaurant and they didn't disappoint. The dumplings are my favorite, they have the best siomai, I can eat it everyday. Their salt & pepper spareribs is also great and I like how soft the meat was. The place is always crowded so expect a noisy ambience, price is quite acceptable too! Oh don't forget to order buchi, it's super yummy!

Mandarin palace is a good bang for your buck! its cheap but authentic plus the ambiance feels good! id recommend going for a rice platter then keep ordering their dimsums!

One of the best Chinese food places in the south. It tends to get really full, especially during weekends, holidays, and special occasions. The proprietor is a nice Chinese man who is hands on in running both the restaurant and his crew. Although it gets a bit tight at times, you're assured of good, delicious, authentic Chinese food.
The food and service of this restaurant is good. The staff are prompt in service and friendly. But like most Chinese restaurants this place is noisy and brightly lit. Not a place for intimate dining. The Salt and Pepper Alimango is fantastic !

Mandarin Palace is one or if not the only authentic Chinese Seafood restaurant in the area of BF Homes Paranaque. You can always see this place jam packed during peak hours even though the place is so big.
One rainy evening while looking for a place to eat I remember this place. Thinking of a shabu-shabu night but while browsing the menu the congee caught our attention. So we settled for a bowl of congees and dimsum. I got the Seafood special congee and it was so good especially on that rainy night. Love the generous scallops and other seafood toppings. Felt like home. For the dimsum we got the kutchay dumplings and siomai. Love it!
Overall Mandarin Palace is definitely our go to place for a delicious Chinese dishes.

From the hakaw to the sweet and sour pork to the Peking duck made 2 ways - it really is a place of nostalgic, easy picking, fattening food that you would always want to shy away from but the lemon chicken is just too good.
The excitement one gets when the dimsum cart is seen from a distance, taking its sweet time as you divulge your cravings to your table mates: "hakaw tayo?.
I am Chinese and grew up eating this cuisine. Living in the south, to have our Chinese food fix, my family would rather opt to go to Makati and beyond. But this place amongst the few respectable Chinese restaurants is quite good. I like the shabu shabu there as well as the dimsum. We don't go here as often but it is certainly one of the better more authentic Chinese restaurants found in the area. The ambiance could be a bit better, but I like how they have a separate area for parking which helps since BF is such an unusually constructed complex (if you have been there you must understand me).

We love this place but sadly their price have increased exponentially since our last visit. We were seated in the coach area. The place was bright but the walls were dirty, watermarks all over. We ordered the Prawn Hakaw and Pork and Shrimp Siomai. Prices are moderate for the dimsum. Very tasty and the chili sauce is hot and complimented the big prawns of the Hakaw.
Since we were only three, we ordered the small orders of the Buttered Chicken - bone in chicken batter fried and drenched in butter with lots of minced red onions and garlic. Juicy and buttery good. Be careful with those annoying little bones though. Broccolli in Garlic - beautifully presented. We can eat this just with the rice! The vegetable still has a little crunch. And the Shrimp and Green Peas Fried Rice - jam packed with shrimps, green peas and scrambled egg! A meal in itself. The seniors noticed that the food that night was not salty at all.
Service was fast but a little too friendly. When i told them that ill take pictures of the food. I can feel them gawking at my back looking at how i do it. LOL. Overall, we love it here. A BF staple. Recommended.

Its a classic Chinese restaurant and great for families and groups. I love the dimsum cart, the roast duck and the hotpot. No wonder this place is almost always packed (even on weekdays). The salt and pepper squid, the seafood roll, yangchow rice, birthday noodles and the dimsum are not to be missed. Staff is attentive and proactive, albeit service can be a bit busy when packed.

They also offer private rooms, but we chose to stay in their main dining area. The food is really expensive, but the good thing is that you can never go wrong. When in BF and we're craving for Chinese food, we always go to this place. It's value for money because food is good, servings are big and prices are reasonable.
Went here after Sunday Church last month and the place was packed! We were seated in a private room but it was kinda small for the round table inside. It felt cramped! Service was a little crappy that night too - super hard to call the attention of the servers, food was served after x numbers of followups.
Anyhow, we got the following ---
> Taosi Spareribs - my ultimate favorite dimsum! Tender, juicy, salty chunks of pork! Best when smothered with toyomansi with lots of chili oil!!!
> Siomai - tasty little pieces!
> Boneless Chicken with Lemon (450Php - M) - chicken fillet with crunchy breading, tender chicken meat, generously drizzled with a tangy lemon sauce!
> Salt and Pepper Spareribs (480Php - M) - another Chinese comfort food favorite of ours! For 480Php, you'll get a lot! The saltiness was just right and this goes well with our favorite Chinese food dip - toyomansi!!
> I also requested for garlic butter shrimps and asked them to peel off the skin already. I was expecting the usual shrimps sautéed in butter with lots of garlic. What they served was pretty weird lol They made a thick sauce, obviously with flour, and butter and there was a mild touch of garlic. The shrimps were cooked just right though but overall, the dish was bland.
> Yangchow Fried Rice - who doesn't like this rice? Tell me?!? lol it's just so good! Lots of shrimps, meat chunks, veggies and egg! It's a must when we're in a Chinese Resto.

Although the place can get pretty crowded. And mind you, there is no low or high season. Its just well patronized.

* 2017 Update: Food is still delicious, one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the South. Service has improved on some days (when Manager is present) but I still notice that the female staff frequently huddle, giggle and chat.
Place could use some sprucing up. But over-all I love eating here. Their dimsum is the best :)

Despite their unimpressive service, I eat here frequently because the food is consistently delicious! Furniture is comfortable, ambiance is appropriate and facilities/environment is clean.
So that one afternoon I was pleasantly surprised to have received great service from one of the waiters, Aris, I hurried to the counter to ask for a feedback form which I was told (by cashier & ladies in black vests) they didn't have. I opted for a contact number which they couldnt give me.
Tonight, I experienced the same disinterested and inattentive from the female staff. We asked for a high chair twice, and both times ignored. Finally the male headwaiter saw to our request, he took our order courteously an left. As expected, A surly looking female waitress 'grabbed' some utensils across the table without acknowledging us... But then lo & behold, that friendly attentive waiter waited on us the entire night which really made our dinner more enjoyable. He even took the time to acknowledge my toddler. :) we received that same great service from food runners & busboys.
So kudos to the male staff of Mandarin Palace, especially to Aris who makes our dining experience more pleasant!
Quality Chinese quisine need not to be expensive. Thats what Manadarin Palace Offers. From the very affordable dimsum and dumpling deals to the staple fish and pork selection this place delivers good quality food. The only thing they can improve on is perhaps food presentation and maybe rennovating or redecorating the place a bit, but what the heck that probably adds to Mandarin Palaces Charm. Try their yam its a treat!
Our family's favorite Chinese restaurant here in the south! Good quality food, wide range of selections. Authentic tasting "yum cha" as they call it in Hong Kong. Their pata tim is superb. Can't go wrong with their dimsum as well!
Great place to go to if you're craving for some authentic Chinese food. They have great dimsum (hakaw!!!), and their Yang Chow fried rice is delicious. It's best to make a reservation before heading there or to opt for an earlier meal because it's usually fully booked.
Finally able to reserve a table at this place! It is always full and busy. My husband and I never really got to try this place out since we know that serving/portions will be generous even with the smallest size. Too much for just the 2 of us.
Lunch was so satisfying with hot&sour soup, spinach soup, hot prawn salad, sautéed scallops, salt&pepper squid, sweet&sour pork, beef with broccoli, birthday noodles and peking duck, 2 ways!

Updating for the latest visit: Had a blast stuffing myself with the Peking Duck done in two ways. This is almost as good as Peking Garden, yes that good! Their dim sums too are so good that I got carried away pointing most of it from the dim sum cart! I can literally stuff myself with just the dimsums especially the shrimp hakaw (there are at least 3 good sizes of shrimps in a Dumpling) and I’d leave with a happy tummy.
I think the best time to visit is when the place is not so busy. Not on weekends or evenings, but anytime after those are good :)

This place is always busy and full no matter what day or time we pass by. It was a great indicator that the food must be great too, so we braved the crowd of customers queueing up for their tables and we finally were given a table right at the back of their extension room. Just as soon as I sat down, I knew that the service would be really an appetite damper. I was having second thought but my friend was dead set on having her early dinner.
The assumption about the service was spot on 😢 the table was barely wiped clean, there was no tissue so I could clean it up, it took the server 10 minutes (the same lady who led us to our table) to come back and get our orders. By the time they served our orders, i was ready to climb the wall! We couldn't hail or call any harried server's attention as they were all buzzing from one direction to another. So we did away with the condiments usually present in any Chinese table. I'm a person who got used to eating with all the table condiments so it was a big deal for me to be eating my food without it. We thought the server forgot one order because by the time she served it, we were already finished eating everything and was asking for the bill!
Do not commit the same mistake as we did. lesson learned?
Never insist! It would be a disaster. We knew it was a full house and yet we insisted to still dine in. The way we were so agog made it seemed like the place is a Michelin star 😂😂😂!
For me the highlight of every visit was seeing the dimsum cart stroll infront of you. We were like kids at the candy store 😄 A variety of pipping hot dimsum before your eyes... You can't help but get more than you planned for. Our favorite dimsum are the Prawn Hakaw and Cutchay Scallop Dumpling 😋. We have also tried the Peking Duck during the promo they had awhile back and it was just okay, nothing special. We have also tried the Seafood Pancit. We ordered the smallest size but it was a huge serving for a party of 3. 😋
Dimsum dishes are good but not that spectacular. The food is somewhat oily. Availed of discounted prices which is between 2 to 5 pm. Because of the discount, prices are very reasonable.
The place lacks parking eventhough it occupies another vacant lot. The food is pricey for common chinese dishes that's served at every chinese restaurant. Although the dimsums were the best!

Another one of our go to restaurants in BF. Their dim sums are good especially their Pork and Shrimp Siomai, Hakao, Chicken Feet, Taro Puff, Fried Shrimp Roll and Steamed Spare Ribs. They also give 20% discount on Dim sums during weekdays between 2-5 pm.
I also like their Shrimp Wanton Noodles paired with Asado Pao. For mains we usually order Yang Chow, Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs or Squid, Beef with Broccoli Flower, Crabs, Steamed Fish Fillet with garlic, Seafood Spinach Soup, Shells with oyster sauce, Birthday Noodles, etc..
If you're craving for Shabu-shabu then you're still in the right place. I love their Satay soup and their dipping sauce made of galic, onions, chilis, peanut butter, satay, etc..
Mandarin Palace is our go-to Chinese restaurant. Every time we are craving for some authentic dimsum and yang chow- we go here!

Best chinese food place along BF. They have this bamboo shell.thing which they cook for you in a spicy? sauce. I forgot the name but they said its the most reccomended recipe for the shell. It was certainly great.

Been here once. Food is in big servings, tastes great and is reasonably priced. Highly suggest that you make a reservation if dining on a weekend.
My family loves this restaurant so I find myself coming back here often. I won't recommend their peking duck, it's a bit dry and I don't like how they cooked ours. On the other hand, I feel giddy when their dimsum cart strolls its way to the table. I find myself ordering more than I expected. I would suggest trying their hakaw.

One of my favorite chinese restaurant. I really love their dimsum here. Specifically their prawn hakaw and japanese siomai. Aside from that their slat and pepper spareribs is good as well. Thier spring rolls are good as well. Nkce and quiet place. The service crew are accommodating.
Went here on a Sunday, we waited for almost 30min(they are jam packed on a Sunday - dinner). The food we ordered went out fast. The siomai is okay, there are better tasting siomai I've tasted around Binondo. But this would suffice if you are craving for dimsum and you're on the South. The sweet and sour pork is good, as well as the Yang Chow fried rice. We loved the steamed bread with condense milk as always.
This resto is one of the few Chinese restaurants i love. This place does not run out of customers but despite that, the staff manages quite well. My family and I love the tasty meals and the countless options of Chinese food. Price is very affordable especially because their servings are huge.

I'm not a fan of Chinese food, but when it's Mandarin, i just can't say NO!! You would know they dont put MSG since everything just tastes so good. Favorites: lemon chicken, duck, HAKAW!! Even go on a holiday, and the restaurant will surely be open. Plus points: the servers are super friendly!

Went back to this resto because we were craving some chinese food. This was the place to go since its big and its not that expensive here. Ive been here a couple of times and i wasnt that satisfied with the service.
Ordered the mushroom with brocolli and the sweet and sour fish fillet. I like the way the mushroom was cooked. Still chewy on the inside. I also love the sweet and sour fish fillet since the sauce is seperated so you can control how much sauce can be placed onto the fillet.
The good side is that the price is good. It is not pricey and servings are reasonable.

This restaurant is great! The food here is wonderful and flavorful. The aesthetic is nice and slick. Also the food there is very unique and serves a lot of great dishes that are considered out of the ordinary. Come here, it's great!
I have no idea what these other people ordered to give this place a 3.5 and below but this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant that I've been to in the south area.
Take it from a kid who grew up eating at Gloria Maris, Summer Palace and Choi Garden. Mandarin Palace is almost nostalgic for me. Cheers!! 我很喜欢！
My girlfriend and I went here for a dinner together with his older brother. We ordered dimums, salt and pepper spareribs plus lemon sauce chicken and crispy pata. Everything we ordered taste great! What I loved the most among those we ordered is their dimsum. It was really big and flavorful. I also like their crispy pata though the skin wasn't that crispy but the meat has an extraordinary taste. Serving size is big enough we were able to take out some for home. The crew are really accomodating. Plus they gave good ventilation inside their restaurant.
The service was very quick and actively responsive! The choices were not too pricey and the quality of the food was outstanding. I definitely saw the authenticity of the cuisine because of the manner of presentation of the food. Fresh meat and seafood on a platter to be cooked by you with the soup of your choice plus other chef-prepared options? This restaurant is definitely a must-try!

Located at BF Homes Paranaque, Mandarin Palace is your seafood - Chinese restaurant that offers you good Chinese dishes without travelling all the way to China or Chinatown.
Unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to take pictures of most of the dishes because I came in late for the Zomato event that day. What I am thankful is the fact that I was able to taste nearly everything that will not kill me aka have an allergy attack.
They have an appetizer that I would recommend to all not only because it was good but also how it was handled. It has a cream filling that is made up of crabs, fish, shrimps and squid. The other part is fried till the breading is golden brown. I don't know how they handled it but I never got an allergy attack from the crab and shrimps that was mixed with this dish. This is there Seafood Roll.
Another dish that I will recommend, in terms of a must try and have, is the Squid with Salted Eggs. I love the way the salted egg was used in this dish. The yolk gave the right salt level of the dish. The white gave added texture to the whole thing. One thing great is the way the squid was handled because it was still soft.
The Kingfiish Sweet and Sour is a dish that needs it's components taken in all at the same time and not separately. The fish is cooked right but the texture of the skin is a bit tough which I think is normal for this fish. The slivers of mangoes used is too sweet for my taste. The fish doesn't have any distinct taste; it was bland. NOW here is the magic. You have to eat the fish with the mangoes at the same time! The sweetness of the mango is controlled by the fish and the fish takes in that flavor trait releasing the beauty of the fish. When eaten together, you now get to appreciate this fish offering.
They have two ways of serving duck, one is by having the skin wrapped in wanton and the other is by mincing it and serving it with iceberg lettuce leaves. Either way, you will enjoy this dish! The one wrapped with wanton has its own hoisin sauce but should you wish to adjust it to your liking, then have no fear for there is a side offering of the sauce when served. The minced duck meat is nice. Should you wish to be adventurous with this dish, add a little spice to it.
A sign of a good chef or cook even is shown when they serve fried foods without the grease. Such was the case when they served us their version of Fried Frogs Legs. You have the flavor without the grease which is a delight! I have tried frogs before (in places you won't think of experiencing) and the way they treated this food offering is good.
The dessert is both delicious and interesting when it comes to texture. It is Chilled Mango Puree with Pearls. I like the sweetness of this dish for it was not overpowering. The pearls that come with it is soft enough that is chewable without being gummy.
What I find intriguing is how they serve dove/pigeon meat. Yes, they do have dove/pigeon meat but it was not available then. Please note that dove/pigeon has a high cholesterol level. Chinese dishes are high in the flavor department and to help you finish a normal course meal, take advantage of the tea offered in the place.
Will I visit this place again? YES! I love Chinese food . . .good Chinese food that is! And it always a delight to know dining places near you that offers something that you like and love. Next to try is their dimsung line - minus the shrimp.

When it comes to family gatherings, intimate meetings, or simply craving for some authentic dimsum, Mandarin heads the list.
Apart from it being authentic, we loved the place for three special reasons:
1. Ambiance- it's cozy and has energy and positive vibes. I love the interiors, as well as, their VIP rooms. Their VIP rooms have no minimum nor maximum charge, however, has a charge of Php 1000/hour after consuming 3 hours. Still, not bad at all!
2. Service - I like how the servers would look for our room every now and then. They made sure our plates, food, drinks, etc., were clean. They were courteous and had shown exceptional customer service.
3. Food - last and not the least, food. The food served to us were simple yet mouthwatering! As usual, our all-time favorite was there, Hakaw. All I can say is, if you want some authentic Chinese food, visit Mandarin Palace!
So, for the verdict, I shall give them 4.5.

Mandarin Palace is where I usually go to whenever I want to eat in a Chinese restaurant. They have good service and the waiters and waitresses are really friendly. You will always see the owner either sitting down or standing up by the entrance welcoming customers. I think that’s great for his restaurant. So far everything I have tried in this restaurant is really good.

Mandarin Palace tops the restaurants in the Metro South that serves authentic Chinese cuisines that you absolutely got to try. Mandarin Palace offers well-prepared food that has texture, aroma and exquisite flavors that suit any discerning palette. We were given a pot of tea as soon as we sat down.
For dimsum, I had Hakaw (Shrimp Dumplings, P 128) and Siomai (open-topped Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, P 88). The Siomai was dense and chewy the way I like it. These two dimsums are definitely good to blow your cash on.
My other two favorites were the Fried Shrimp Rolls with Almonds plus the roasted Peking Duck.
Peking duck is a famous dish from Beijing savored for its perfectly-browned, crispy skin and aromatic meat. It is usually sliced thinly and eaten wrapped in flat bread. For a bit more flair, you can have it minced and eaten wrapped in lettuce with Hoisin Sauce on the side (best lettuce wraps ever).
Layers of texture and flavor were imminent in the King Fish in Mango Sauce. It is an intriguing combination of crispy fried fish served with a sauce using ripe mango slivers and greens. The sweet dressing works its way into the crunchy fish meat making it more savory.
Deep fried Seafood Roll is crunchy on the outside. I love the flavor these seafood-stuffed rolls make. It has that sweet tang that bites through it thick golden crust.
The Salt and Pepper Spareribs is uncomplicated strips of tender pork ribs with a hint of spiciness. Braised Chicken with Curry Sauce is a good way to introduce curry to kids. This chicken dish has a very subtle hint of curry taste.
Fried Squid in Salted Egg is crispy battered and fried squid mixed with salted egg. This is something I would highly recommend.
Mandarin Palace takes rare but flavorful ingredients, such as pigeons and frogs to create refreshing meals. We asked for their Fried Frog Legs to get curiosity out of the way. There is not much meat on them but it tasted like chicken.
For dessert, I had Mango Sago. Chunks of ripened mango enrobed in thick mango cream and sago (tapioca) makes a light, refreshing cold dessert.
Mandarin Palace has been around for three years. If you want to taste their claim to fame, you got to order their dimsum and Peking Duck.

If you're up for some really tasty Chinese food like Siomai, Hakaw or Peking Duck, then this is in the south that can give it to you and have a few more surprises in between!
I had the chance to try it out and I'll be giving you guys a run down of the MUST TRY dishes in this place:
Prawn Hakaw Shrimp Siomai: I guess you can say it was love at first smell, look and bite as I never have had any hakaw in my entire life until that fateful day, and the only siomai that I have tried before this was of the fastfood Variety ...#WrapperPaMore hehehe.. I mean, HELLO! There's actualy slightly large bits of actual shrimp inside the Siomai and the Hakaw was just full of flavor.
Fried Seafood Rolls: Think of it as a tempura-ish crust with a seafood salad along with great mayo inside. It also has bits of mango that make it all the more sweet and balancing it from the acidity of the mayonnaise.
Fried Shrimp Balls with Almonds- This dish is quite heavy on the tummy, as 2 pcs can already fill me up. The almonds give it a nice crisp taste and texture, which makes this a Contemporary take on the usual Shrimp balls...
Fried Squid in Salted Egg- I am an avid fan of salted egg and seeing it being used in fried squid just melts my heart. Now this one utilizes the whole salted egg, enveloping the squid in a more powered flavor coming from the egg. It's also sandy or velvety in texture, which makes it all the more special and yummy :)
Braised Chicken with Curry Sauce: I am very sensitive to curry, and for a personal taste, I don't really like it that much. BUT I'll give this to Mandarin Palace- They have opened my tastebuds to curry as it was not at all powering. This dish is pretty much like durian in the sense that it smells like curry, but tastes divine and doesn't even have much of that expected powerful curry kick, cause it's very subtle. If you're thinking of making your kid learn to eat curry, this is your FIRST STEP. :)
Frog Legs served ala Salt and Pepper. I loved this dish cause it's not malansa, which means they prepped it well and also because they skinned it up and used the legs, I kinda think of it as eating Buffalo Wings... This tasted like chicken, but with the texture of Fried Lapu Lapu... Overall, I loved said dish.. :3

Mandarin Palace has all the perks expected of a Chinese restaurant. Vibrant, well-lit, and portion sizes good for a family. As for the food, some dishes really do stick out. My favorite dish during my most recent visit would hands down have to be their fried squid with salted egg breading. Not sure if that's the exact name on the menu, but mention this to the staff and they'll surely know what you're talking about. I included a picture here, and I'd like to apologize in advance for the low quality. :( Well anyway, I loved this particular dish because it puts a twist on a personal family favorite in Chinese restaurants, the salt and pepper squid. The breading is crumbly, flavorful, yet light. Nothing like rekindling love for an old favorite!
Another winner dish was their hakaw. There is a particular taste of hakaw which some Chinese restaurants are not able to achieve, and Mandarin Palace hits the spot. I would've preferred bigger dumplings though, but taste is more important.
We also tried their frog legs, which was scary to eat at first but totally delicious and worth it once one gets over the fact that it's frog. The breading was crispy and the meat itself was very light and not "frog-like" as one expects to attribute to eating frog because of its slimy counterparts which hop around our backyards. It helps to know that frogs served in restaurants are usually cultured especially for this purpose.
Mandarin Palace is overall a great place to hit your Chinese food craving and best enjoyed with a big group of family and friends. Thumbs up!
Despite having a lot of customers, their staff are very attentive and they'll give you suggestions if you're unsure of what you want to get. Really affordable for a mid-class to high-end restaurant. There's no wifi though despite the fact that their Zomato profile says there is.
I like the wide range of items on the menu. Over-all i'd eat here 5 out of 7 times And that's how much i like the place.
Some specifics:
Dimsum - hakaw has a thicker wrapper than i'm used to but the filling is rly good.
Hot and sour - small serving is enough for 5 small bowls to complement the restof the meal.
Birthday noodles - has a good number of toppings like squid, pork asado etc which will rly fill you up. Have i mentioned their chili sauce is really good? It is fiery and has a nice bite to it.
Lemon chicken - not into this lemony sauce but others might dig it
Chicken feet - no complaints
This place is great for families so you can order a lot of dimsum and small servings and share ecverything, like your own mini buffet. : D
Good accommodation good cr good ambiance food isn't bad but little .. But I like to. Go back again someday ;) ...............
Definitely a good place to go to for good Chinese food. There's a reason why it's always full, especially on weekends! Very little improvements necessary, if any.
