Their US Prime Dry Age Ribeye is to die for, when you go to this restaurant, you shouldn't miss this one. Their wagyu tacos won't disappoint you too. Nobu Paella 10/10 for me. And for their dessert, Miso cappuccino will satisfy your craving for something to end a good and sumptuous dinner. Will def be back!

If you’re into Japanese food then I highly recommend this place! It has just enough selections for this cuisine, just enough mains, sushi, and dessert for a japanese style buffet. If you’re looking for more variety then I might not recommend this place. Their lunch buffet has drinks that come with it. Their place is also really pretty, perfect for different occasions!

As fantastic as all the other Nobu’s around the world. This Nobu however has a much much better service as I always experience with Filipinos who are really kind and warm people. Quality of food, service and ambience are all top notch. Very recommended.

Seriously, the place is really very classy. It's a step up from the usual hotel buffet because of the fusion food that they serve. They don't just serve traditional dishes, they put an unexpected twist. Come hungry because you will definitely want to eat everything... I must mention how sophisticated this place looks-- very sleek and modern. Well trained army of waiters-- every glass filled, every request promptly attended to. Great dining experience

Our First time to dine in at Nobu Restaurant since there are a lot more Choices to dine in City of Dreams. But ofcourse Nobu Restaurant is known as world class Japanese Restaurant.

Came here late at night. Dined for midnight snack since we already had a heavy Dinner.

Ordered the Sushi Ocean 10 Chefs Selection of 10 pieces of Assorted Sushis that comes with Miso Soup at 1,690. When the waiter serves this, They will explain each Sushi that's in the platter. Excellent Service ofcourse. Ordered Vanilla Icecream for my son which i think is homemade and their own version.

Always has been a favorite spot here in Metro Manila. Service is superb and consistently good. Quality of food is good albeit a little bit pricey compared to other restaurants but fair for the taste you get. My favourite is the cod!!!

Nobu Restaurant is the world’s most recognized Japanese restaurant, known for its innovative new-style cuisine, paired with a hip crowd and celebrity following.

We had a Sunday brunch here last month and were wowed by the extravagant buffet spread of sashimi and fusion sushi dishes. Everything was spectacular and a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Like Chef's Nobu's other restaurants, the food at Nobu (in City of Dreams Manila) follows in the tradition of Japanese cuisine with Peruvian and local flavors mixed in.

The luxurious ambiance with a "sweep you into another world" feel, exemplary staff, and super delicious Japanese food justify the cost. For Sunday brunch, our bill costed P2990++ per person. Surely, the steep tab is not for the timid but the consistent level of taste and service makes you feel special.

Nobu Restaurant is a recommended place to celebrate any special occasion or whenever you want to pig out and make sure all the calories will be worth it. No doubt, Nobu Restaurant in Nobu Hotel Manila stays true to its reputation for delivering great food. Each bite provided interesting and unique flavors. It will be an expensive meal, but it is a perfect spot for those who regularly enjoy sushi and seafood.

The food was much better tonight than when I came a year ago. Menu selection improved as there are slightly more choices. My nephews loved the king crab taco, the rock shrimp tempura in creamy spicy sauce, the miso cod, the sea bass in balsamic teriyaki. I personally enjoyed the lobster in uni butter. The beef anti chucho skewers, the kakiage, and the bento box dessert were not as authentic compared to the Tokyo version. They offered beef fried rice which was not on the menu.

Service needs improvement.

Really a fantastic place for delicious and authentic Japanese dishes. It never fails to amaze me no matter how many times I’ve been to this restaurant. The staff are amazing except for their manager who’s name i think is Czarina who got the ire of my wife for not being friendly and somewhat discriminates guests. You can see her bias in treating foreign customers,

I decided to propose here. The staffs friendly and food as expected is great.

The texture of the black cod is slightly different from its branches across the globe (Dubai)

Its been a very famous robert de niro restaurant and it never fails to make my taste buds dance 🤟☺️

My first teppanyaki experience was from here, and i gotta say they have experienced teppanyaki chefs!! The food was great, especially the soft, juicy steak served still hot from the griddle, flavor exploding in your mouth as you bite. Sheesh! It’s just a little slower than other teppanyakis to compare, but it’s worth the wait. 😋

Maybe Im such a fan of breakfast buffet. I had a wonderful experience here in NOBU.

Many options to pick. What I really love here is their bacon, perfect! I wasnt able to try all their food but I will say it is worth it. Though pricey if hindi pa kasama sa free breakfast. Good thing hindi ako nagbayad. I mean libre ng ate ko. Hay! I heard that 1200 ang breakfast buffet. But not 100% sure ah. Mga around doon.

Lahat ng natikman ko na food masarap.
Super ganda ng place. Sosyalin!!!

We went here for a staycation and included is the breakfast buffet in Nobu restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by their staff and was asked how many will be dining in so they can prepare the table for us. Once seated, we were asked for our preferred hot drink (coffee, tea or hot chocolate) while the rest like juices, water, milk is available on the buffet table. There are 4 stations inside the restaurant: Egg station, pancakes/waffle/taho station, pastries/juices station and the main course station which includes the congee.

Pastry: I like it that they have quite a number of breads to choose from, pandesal, croissant, loaf (green tea, wheat, white and raisin), jams, butter, fresh fruits and cereals.

Egg: You can request for an omelette, sunny side up and scrambled egg with milk.

Waffle/Pancake: I was not able to taste the green tea waffle bec Im so full, they have taho, your own choice of syrup.

Main Course: There are about 6-7 choices of viand: bacon, sausage, bangus, veggies, pancit, garlic rice, potato and the congee.

Overall, the food is great! The view outside the restaurant is really nice! You can avail of their breakfast buffet for ₱1364++/head.

I recently stayed at the Nobu Hotel Manila for a birthday staycation. I invited a few friends over for dinner, drinks and a horror flick before calling it a night. My friend Aurie stayed with me overnight and we headed down for breakfast at the Nobu Restaurant. It was actually more like brunch since we went down closer to 10 a.m. after a late night.

Love this place! especially the contemporary Zen ambiance. Great music plus nice interior makes you feel relaxed. Japanese inspiration is evident in this cafe lounge with its clean lines, murals, and abundant use of light-toned wood. The place offers a rather casual dining experience instead of one that's restrictively formal.

We ordered (cafe latte, choco green tea muffin, macaron, & peppermint tea). This is not your ordinary muffin, you can really taste the green tea despite it is not the typical green colored muffin. The macaron is also good , taste like strawberry yogurt and it is not too sweet.

Price is not steep, worth the money.

I have never eaten any raw fish. I had absolutely no intention to, but had a change of heart because of Nobu.

After an exhausting waiting period at the airport, we went here for some Wine and a little something to eat. We ordered a a few glasses and eventually a whole bottle of red wine (Bogle), Shrimp Tempura, and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño.

The sashimi was phenomenal. The fish was delicate and fresh it literally just melts in your mouth. I tried these two ways; one with just the sauce to have that raw-taste experience then the next was with hot oil poured over to slightly sear the fish. And im surprisingly leaning towards eating it raw.

Shrimp Tempura - you definitely get your money's worth on this one. This isnt just your breaded shrimp which turns soggy minutes after serving. Light, crispy batter which evenly coats the perfectly cooked shrimp.

So tempura and sashimi plus a bottle (or more) of Bogle. Perfection.

Nobu means trust. Consistent trust that they provide with every bite and never giving you the fear of disdain.

I would give Nobu more than five stars if only it were possible. Out of every Japanese restaurant that we've been to, they're definitely at the top of our list! We had their Omakase Set during our visit. It was a delectable eight-course meal created with the finest ingredients.

1. Toro Tartare with Caviar
2. Yellowtail Jalapeno - Kumamoto Oyster New Style - Lapu-lapu Tiradito
3. Salmon Sashimi Salad with Yuzu Dressing
4. Chef Oi’s Sushi Selection
5. Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy
6. Black Cod Miso
7. Akadashi Soup
8. Miso Cappuccino

Small, highly satisfying and packed with flavors. The Toro Tartare with Caviar will definitely leave a lasting first impression for the whole meal. The finely chopped tuna belly is a treat in itself. I can't get enough of it!

We love sashimi to begin with and we have a special bias towards it, but Nobu’s salmon sashimi was without a doubt, the best that I have ever tasted. Thin milky slices of heaven.

The Miso Cappuccino is to die for! The cappuccino mousse was most utterly delightful. I was not able to taste the miso, but it was nevertheless a dessert worth mentioning. You'll ask for seconds!

Ambience – 5/5

Service – 5/5

Location – 4/5

Food – 6/5

Nobu Manila is known for it's elegant setup and wonderful Japanese dishes that is fit for the hotel, as well as the high ballers at the casino. So it was an absolute yes for an opportunity to get a taste of what they have to offer.

The place was a sight to behold. Very fitting for a high-end restaurant. The service was exemplary. Very attentive staff are always present to take care of your needs.

So upon sitting down, we were treated to an eight-course Omakase. Here's the breakdown of what we have:

1. Toro Tartare w/ Caviar
2. Yellow Tail Jalapeño, Kumamoto Oyster New Style, Lapulapu Tiradito
3. Salmon Sashimi Salad w/ Yuzu Dressing
4. Chef Oi' Sushi Selection
5. Rock Sushi Tempura Creamy Spicy
6. Black Cod Miso
7. Akadashi Soup
8. Miso Cappuchino

The concept behind the Omakase is to serve in small portions to let the people enjoy the taste of each dish that was meticulously prepared for the people to enjoy. It was pretty hard to choose a favorite among all. The best approach would be to try everything as that would complete your Nobu Experience. Yeah, the price is very steep for the meal but its worth every peso you paid for. It was an experience that was for the ages.

NOBU is known worldwide for innovative Japanese food created by celebrity chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, who is particularly close to The Godfather Robert de Niro, his business partner for the Nobu chain of restaurants. Chef Nobuyuki is credited to reinventing Japanese cuisine to something hip, trendy and sexy. His signature style has been delighting diners for decades and his dishes are timeless.

The Omakase Tasting Menu is stuff of legends. Our 8-course tasting menu featured the signature dishes found in all Nobu restaurants they are famous for. It took us 3 hours to finish our meal.

**********

Here’s what we had:

TORO TARTARE WITH CAVIAR
Finely chopped Philippine blue fin tuna belly gently resting on a mix of wasabi and soy This was a wonderful way to start the night. The wasabi, though mild in flavor, wakes you up to tell you it’s time for an epic dinner. The baby peach was a nice palate cleanser to sweeten up your tongue.

SIGNATURE TRIO - Yellow Tail Jalapeno, Kumamoto Oyster New Style, Lapu-lapu Tiradito
YTJ is a classic Nobu dish with soy and yuzu. The chili on top is necessary, don’t take it out! Hot yuzu, sesame oil, and olive oil poured on the sweet, creamy oysters. The tiradito is a lighter version of a Peruvian ceviche where the fish is thinly sliced and seasoned with a delicate spicy sauce. The Lapu-lapu is locally harvested.

SALMON SASHIMI SALAD
Norwegian salmon seared with pepper and sea salt with yuzu dressing. So simple. But soooo delicious.

CHEF OI'S SUSHI SELECTION.
Blue Fin Tuna from Spain. Japanese Hotate (scallop) lightly marinated with soy and quickly seared. Japanese mackerel from the Shiba prefecture with grated ginger and scallions. Manila signature Tamago was light and fluffy, almost like a Japanese cheesecake.

ROCK SHRIMP TEMPURA
Tempura tossed in spicy aoili and yuzu, with a salad underneath with a light soy dressing. This was a big serving. Pinoys might probably ask for rice, but I was happy with the salad it came with.

BLACK COD MISO
Silky, buttery black cod with a miso glaze. Marinated for several days for that intense flavor. Any black cod miso you see in and other restaurant is a copycat of this original creation. Never leave a NOBU restaurant without trying this.

AKADASHI SOUP
100 year-old recipe. Intense, very distinct flavor. It’s nothing like the miso soup you can get from the katsu places. I’ve never tasted miso soup like this. Having the soup at the end of the savory menu also helped ease the food amount of food already in our bellies.

MISO CAPUCCINO
Miso brûlée with vanilla ice cream, candied candied pecans, and miso foam and a dusting of chocolate. Read this again and drool. Too bad it comes in such a small cup.

**********

Something I learned today - if your NOBU sushi has cilantro, you're probably having something that’s spicy.

NOBU is a global empire for a reason. Everything we had was amazing. The PH location is the best place to experience this as this branch offers the most affordable prices in the whole chain. I particularly liked that some of the dishes had a good amount of heat. The dishes might look simple but the method of preparation and the combination of flavors are phenomenal and worth the price tag.

The NOBU signature style is delicate, complex, sexy and full of flavor. Make sure you savor every bite.

Many ask me what my favorite food is, and I can't give a straight answer. I always tell people that I love almost all food, and that the food that I would want to eat always depends on what I am in the mood for, or what I am craving for. But if I am to answer the question everyone is asking, I am positive that Japanese food is out of the picture. Don't hate me. It's just that Japanese food is the cuisine that I least crave for, and it is likely because I only eat the ramen, or maki, or katsu. But my trip to Nobu restaurant changed all that, making me discover something about myself that I didn't think was possible.

When Nobu said their brand is all about treating their guests like rock stars, I didn’t realize they took that adage and shot it right off the roof! The food and the service our group received was way beyond my expectations, the empty plates and bowls (and one cup) would attest to the superbness of their dishes.

Nobu’s Omakase set is a must for Japanese food lovers. The subtle flavors of sea are present in each dish - from the appetizers to the dessert. It is typically an 8-course meal but advanced requests can be accommodated for less or more courses.

For the first course, we had the toro tartare with caviar. It looked small but it was so full of the flavors of the sea, with the salty-sweet flavor of the tartare topped with the salty caviar. This is worth savoring.

Second course - Yellowtail Jalapeno, kumamoto Oyster New Style - Lapu-lapu tiradito - This trio was bite sized and gives more dimension to the subtle differences of sea flavors, from the rather tart and spicy yellowtail to the mildly sweet oysters then the mild lapu lapu.

Third course - Salmon sashimi salad with yuzu dressing - Salmon is a rather oily fish and the yuzu happily balances this out. You kind of want more but the Japanese way of serving just enough for you to feel full is at play here. By the end of the meal, we fully appreciated that philosophy.

Fourth course - Chef Oi’s Sushi Selection - This has got to be the best sushi plate I ever ate. The various seafood toppings were either fresh or seared just right.

Fifth course - Rock shrimp tempura creamy spicy - The shrimp tempura retained its texture even after being doused with its sweet-spicy sauce. It’s one of those under-the-radar food that you just cannot stop putting one morsel after another.

Main course - Black cod miso - The cod was cooked to perfection and basted with a salty-sweet sauce. Our host said it was was his favorite dish and digging into the flaky fish, it’s easy to see how.

Soup - Akadashi Soup - This soup was like sipping the essence of the sea.

Dessert - Miso Cappucino - This was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Miso is typically sour and pungent, but there was no hint of that in this dish, only a nice tartness in the custard at the bottom of the cup. With the vanilla ice cream, candied pecans and coffee-like foam, this was a masterpiece that deserved to be licked clean.

Overall, I liked that I left just satiated instead of bursting full at the end of the meal, because the chefs’ pacing allowed us to savor and appreciate each dish. This should be on top of every foodie’s must-eat destination.

The Nobu restaurant definitely has one of the best seafood and sushi selection in the metro.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to one of Chef Kirika Oi's 8-course degustacion dinners a few days back, and boy, was it an experience!

My favourites from the 8-course meal were Chef Oi's Sushi Selection, Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy, Black Cod Miso, and the Miso Cappuccino for dessert. The cold dishes which included the sushi tasted like the fish were just plucked out of the water, and the hot dishes like the rock shrimp tempura and black cod miso were just seasoned so well that i really couldn't find a fault in them. The amazing meal was even ended on a high note with the Miso Cappuccino - the creamiest mousse topped with candied pecans, vanilla ice cream, and miso foam.

The food, ambiance, and service is absolutely great at Nobu.

The first course "Toro Tartare with Caviar " looked simple. The colors were muted. The portion was really small. It looked like a "quiet" albeit elegant little dish in its "bareness". But what it lacked in impact was more than made up for by its humongous flavor. The toro tartare was silky, scrumptious and addicting. The soy-wasabe-dashi combo provided the kick which gave the dish an additional oomph. The cute japanese peach and the sliver of curled red onion was there to give your palate a brief respite from the richness of each spoonful. Everything was well thought of. What an amazing way to start the omakase meal. It heightened my anticipation for the next courses .

One of the finest restaurants in Manila.

In a degustation setting, a chef is able to showcase his creations which I think chef Kirika Oi of Nobu has exceedingly aced. From the start to finish, each course's play of ingredients and flavors was unique and impressive.

The sushi selections, sashimi, and the oysters were very fresh and melted in your mouth. Another factor that raised the quality of its sushi was the Japanese rice. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly which is a big factor for me when eating sushi.

My favorites from the 8-course meal were the Kumamoto Oyster New Style, Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy, Black Cod Miso, and the Miso Cappuccino. The Kumamoto Oyster New Style was very fragrant due to the sesame oil which partially seared the surface of the oyster. It was a bit salty though, but overall was a very good and tasty appetizer. The rock shrimp tempura's yuzu flavor was very unique and I love how despite being fully coated by creamy sauce, the shrimps still have the crunch of the tempura. Also, the greens under was well-tossed.

Being one of my favorite Japanese fishes, the black cod miso well satisfied my palate. It was cooked perfectly--neither under not overcooked. The miso coating also was just enough not to overpower the flavor of the fish. One of the best prepared cod dishes I've tried.

Lastly, their miso cappuccino was to die for. The even layers of miso foam with drizzled cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, candied pecans, and chocolate mousse were perfect until the very last spoon. I can even finish another serving of it! I strongly recommend it!

The ambience of Nobu is undoubtedly one of the bests in Manila, and something worth coming back to. The servers were all well-mannered and very accommodating. I will definitely go back to this place especially during special occasions! It never disappoints! 🤗

Nobu is not your run of the mill buffet.

Unlike other buffet places that is chaotic with people jostling around for food and kids running around and feels like a market place ,nobu buffet experience for me was an unhurried affair... simple, calm and very zen

The buffet spread is more of quality than quantity. For those who expect their buffet to have rows and rows of chafing dishes of food, nobu is not for you. Don't expect the usual suspects like salad bar, roast carving, lechon, meat and cheese platters . Nobu gives you a japanese dining experience but don't expect dishes from japanese restaurants in the metro like tempura.

It has 5 stations, the biggest is the sushi / sashimi station. Don't expect your garden variety sushi here like california roll or something coz you will be disappointed. Instead nobu has kept their offering close to what you would get in japan. And their selection was fresh and of quality.

The other station was their cooked dishes. Everything was delicious and the dishes were not heavily sauced.

The third was their teppan or should i say their yakitori station where you could get your meat fix and then some like leeks and mushroom . Beef was tender and again meats were not masked in heavy sauce.

The 4th station was their carving station. The carving we had was salmon which was delicately cooked and melts in your mouth. So yummy.

The last station of course was dessert. They had danish, cakes, ice cream, fresh strawberries... a good variety of desserts not only cream based cakes

Oh i forgot. They had a pass along service where staff bring you samples of food items not found on their buffet spread. Yummy soft shell crab. I just wish they did this frequently throughout the meal service

Wait staff were attentive and helpful. Although this was a buffet, it felt more like fine dining with wait staff unobtrusively attending to you.

There aren't much choices for kids and for those who are not into seafood and fish. It is more catered to adult tastes. But having said that ... i like serenity of having a peaceful and delicious meal in a beautiful setting... oblivious to the hustle and outside and without the noise of kids shouting and running around and chatters from other tables.

This buffet was pricey but in my opinion worth every penny.

Their breakfast buffet was lovely! We enjoyed the breads, pastries, beverages, and food viands. I forgot most of the names but the quality is legit and notable for great food. We arrived 15 minutes before breakfast time ended so we had to hoard some food in advance. They have excellent Iced Tea though I can't recall if the full name's Natural Iced Tea. I had at least 5 glasses of those.

One word to describe dining in Nobu: opulent. The black cod miso is their bestseller, and aptly so. The flavour and texture of the dish is so unforgettable and enriching, you find yourself cherishing every bite. We tried other sashimi (I didn't get to take a photo of them) but the yellowtail with jalapeño was definitely refreshing. I also recommend trying their mushroom tobanyaki because it was absolutely magnificent. The wagyu beef was perfect, and really melts in your mouth like butter. But the best for me was the molten chocolate cake with green tea ice cream, because I swear, I have never tasted any cake or any ice cream, as delicious and opulent and decadent as what was in that bento box. I feel like every peso spent in Nobu has to be worth it.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Manila! Aside from the food, it's the service and their well-trained staff that marked a great impact -- it's like getting the VIP treatment in every corner of Nobu.

My faves:
• Black cod miso
• Seared tuna sashimi salad with Nobu Matsuhisa's signature sauce
• Rock shrimp tempura
• US prime ribeye with teriyaki, wasabi pepper and anticucho sauces

I was invited by my friend Ampy to join them to avail the Huawei Mate Senses Omakase Set at Nobu Restaurant. I know this restaurant is expensive, thinking that I could eat here for free is a privilege, and I am too excited about it when I heard the good news from her.

Ampy and I were too early to arrived at Nobu and the receptionist assisted us to our table. The place is huge, they even have veranda to see the golden egg landmark of City of Dreams Manila. Inside is dim, that you can feel the intimacy of the place. Nice place for dating lovebirds indeed 😍

While waiting for Liway and Marlon, I asked the server what will be the menu today, and handed me the list for tonight's Huawei Mate Senses Omakase set. It's a 6-course set menu, it's a little bit different from their 8-Course Nobu Signature's Omakase Set starting at Php4,480.00++ depends what Omakase set you will get...

When they arrived, we started our journey to experienced Nobu.

First they served the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño... small serving but each of the three-pieces sashimi is very flavorful. - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Second, Sashimi Salad... I like the seared tuna combined with fresh lettuce, and of course the dressing... Its super addicting. - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

The third one, Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce... The spice is manageable, I like the crispiness of the shrimps combined with the creamy sauce. - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Fourth, the main, Black Cod Miso... this is the best dish served. If there's more than 5 stars I will give it more... 6,7,8,9,10 stars? LOL. 😂 So yummy!!! 🙌🏼 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10

We get to have breakfast here since we got a complimentary breakfast for our 1 night stay. The restaurant has a very good interior. This is what you'll notice when you get inside. The ambiance is cozy and its not very crowded.  Their breakfast buffet has a wide range of selection. If you get to have breakfast here, go for the waffle, it really tickles your senses.

I wanted to try out NOBU for quite sometime now. But i was always busy. But on this Sunday night, my hubby and I decided to break the diet and go to NOBU for dinner. Upon entering this fine restaurant, I noticed their elegant interior. Very private and cozy atmosphere. Our waiter, Tim, was very knowledgeable and described our dishes with precision.

We went ahead and ordered the following:

Salmon Tataki with Karashi Su Miso- very delicate pieces of salmon, you will not be needing wasabi. Very delicious. I would have ordered another round have I not been saving room for other dishes.

Warm Mushroom Salad- good dish but its more of a mushroom dish than a salad. It's got only 2-3 leaves of greens in it.

Chawanmusi- nothing spectacular. It's not as smooth and silky as I have hoped.

Uni- they ran out of the local uni, so we agreed to order the imported ones. We prefer the local uni. And the price difference is huge.

Black Cod Miso- very very good, perfectly cooked with perfectly seared skin. Delicate flavor and texture. Hit the right spot.

King Crab Tempura- one word. Perfection.

Mushrooms with Black Truffles- nothing can go wrong with truffles.

Premium Japanese Wagyu flambé- served in 2 stones on a bed of rock salt and pink peppercorns. Very good marbling, melts in your mouth, a piece of HEAVEN in every bite.

Saved some room for dessert. I ordered the Miso Cappucino. It's an interesting desert made with candied pecans, layered with coffee cream and milk ice cream topped with Miso foam. Wonderful. Such a sweet ending to this wonderful dining experience.

We cannot seem to leave this place and so we lingered and enjoyed their handcrafted tea to capped our night.

It's all about the Sunday brunch. I read about the brunch on the Internet and they had me at the matcha fountain.

The sashimi and sushi they served was also delicious especially their salmon sashimi with Mido sauce.

Also they had this Sea bass that was also the bomb.

But I really enjoyed the matcha fountain and also their matcha green tea ice cream.

A must go at least once if u haven't been. It is pricey not gonna lie!

Dining in Nobu is not what I would consider a gastronomic exercise but rather a whole experience. The posh and luxurious interior tells sets the tone of the journey that your palate will go through. The hosts are very attentive and knowledgeable of the cuisine they serve. Think of them like curators of an art museum, They really know their narrative
And so the narrative goes.

Chapter 1 - Appetizers

We were served with shitake mushroom.salad with garlic chips in a citrusy vinigrette and yellow fin tuna with jalapeno and cilantro. The Salad was well vinigrette drenched salad with not much fanfare. The yellow tail tuna was divine, the tuna was the smooth dissolves in your mouth type which flavor was enhanced by the jalapeno and cilantro this will leave you wanting more.

Chapter 2 - The Hot Dishes

We ordered the rock shrimp salad that looked like fancy chicken poppers and I must say, if you plan to go to Nobu, order it, immediately because Its otherworldly. The batter coats the the shrimp which was also coated in its own shrimp fat. Deep fried to perfection the dish is 3 different layers of flavor. Its crunchy yet it has that melt in your mouth consistency as if all the layers fused in symphonic melody.

Chapter 3 - Cold Dishes

We ordered the salmon avocado rolls, which was made of the freshest ingredients. The rice was perfect and the salmon melted with the avocado as we consumed it. The japanes rice just sealed the deal for us on this dish. We also ordered Uni which is also really fresh.

Ending

This Culinary tale of South American/Japanese Gastronomic Matrimony ends with me saying, if you like Japanes food and you can afford dining here, please do, you owe it to yourself to go through the Nobu dining experience, Otherwise try other sushi bars because the dishes are pricey and the serving is not that sizeable.

Last night I was lucky enough to be invited last minute to dine at the famed Nobu Manila that opened over a year ago (Hello, December 2014). I know I’m late but I like to go with my own flow aka when no one’s talking about it anymore and it’s easier to get a reservation. Rewind back 15 years ago to 2001 when I stumbled upon a couple of Nobu cookbooks in our house. I didn’t really have that love of food that I had now but I knew I liked to eat and when pictures of food look beautiful, I’d like to think that the food would taste the same. But alas, the only Nobu restaurants I knew of were nowhere really near Manila and I was not dropping that kind of cash. Not when I was 12 years old. No way, man.

There’s a thing about clean design that gets me and Nobu definitely has that. It started quite empty on an early Saturday night which allowed me to appreciate the quiet ambiance. At least until a group sat close by near the end of our meal and progressively got louder the more they drank. Oh well, can’t have it all. Attention to detail was definitely in the designer’s mind when they were thinking of this place. There are a lot of things on the menu so we decided to go omakase (お任せ) and left it all to the chef. Our server told us that the omakase usually contains the specialties so I was eager to get my hands on that black cod in miso.

We started with a complimentary zensai (did I spell that right?) palate cleanser, compliments of the chef. I guess our meager tongues needed to be ready for deliciousness. Just kidding! We got a colorful veggie friendly te maki (手巻/hand roll) with cucumbers, carrots, a slice of avocado, wrapped in lettuce and nori (海苔/seaweed). This was all hiding a delicious sesame miso dressing that was not too creamy and bland at the same time. My only comment is that the avocado slice could’ve been bigger😛

Then the omakase started. A cold dish of yellowtail tartare sitting in a miso wasabi soy dressing and topped with finely chopped green onions and caviar (CAVIAR!!) was served. The yellowtail (which I believe is hamachi and easily confused with yellowfin tuna) was so finely chopped and looked like a little cake. A delicious little cake that is. The dressing can be a bit overwhelming/spicy if you take too much so make sure not to. Unless you want to clear your sinuses. On the side there was a little green fruit to cleanse our palates yet again. Our server told us it was wakamomo (young green peach/若桃)and was delicious! We had to order a few more on the side because they were that good. In the words of my companions “好好吃!” (With emphasis)

Next up was the sushi platter with salmon, tuna, ebi, and crispy rice cube topped with spicy tuna. I personally thought the fish was very normal but the rice for me was the perfect sushi rice with a bit of zing from the rice vinegar. The crispy rice cube was interesting because I had never seen anything like that. The spicy tuna that topped it wasn’t too spicy so I forgot it was supposed to be.

A shy plate of tiraditos arrive and TBH almost didn’t see the white fish because the plate was white too! Four thin slices of white fish sashimi sat in some yuzu (柚子) lemon juice topped with some kind of salt, a cilantro leaf, and a drop of some Peruvian chili sauce. Some red chewy seaweed was on the side. The yuzu lemon juice was a bit overpowering at first but then evened out by the chili sauce and cilantro. Unless cilantro tastes like soap to you.

Then to be healthy we had the sashimi salad. The fish used is Philippine tuna (yay local!) and seared just right on a bed of mixed greens, a cherry tomato, and two thin slices of radish. I think the dressing was some sort of sesame soy base mixed with grated radish. Well, I can only say that I liked the fish more than the veggies but this was kinda ordinary for me considering that it’s a bestseller.

Closer to the end, some rock shrimp tempura on top of field greens tossed in a creamy chili dressing. The taste kinda reminded me of the Chinese American classic, honey walnut prawns but with a kick. I liked the bite sized pieces cause I looked very awkward trying to eat a whole shrimp tempura. For real.

Finally, the dish that I had been waiting for and what made the man himself famous, black cod in miso. Fish was perfectly cooked! Ayeeee so flaky and succulent. From what I know the black cod is marinated in some kinda of miso dressing but it wasn’t overpowering at all. No fermented miso smell here! I also liked the option of the little bit of extra dressing on the side. Lastly, a stem of pickled ginger to cleanse the palate once again. Black cod in miso was A+!

Then we got a bowl of miso soup which was that, a bowl of miso soup. No bells and whistles here.

We ended our meal with an individual serving of chocolate lava cake with a scoop of green tea ice cream. For some reason, I can smell the lava cake before they even lifted the cover. Not as much runny chocolate as I expected but still scrumptious and great with the green tea ice cream.

I realized belatedly that we weren’t served any meat! Wow! While Nobu is not a place I can afford to go to on a regular basis, it’s definitely in my bookmark for special occasions. (Someone please invite me again?) Glad to have finally dined at Nobu. It was 15 years in the making! Valet parking is also free for 3 hours with a validation!😛

So Hungry Pants, aint single anymore. Shit just got real, just kidding! I have been very busy but I promise to try to get back to writing food reviews again, at least for the next few months that were still here. Anyway, my husband and I checked-in at Nobu Hotel for three days and two nights (right before we set out for our honeymoon). We got to try their breakfast buffet at Nobu restaurant and to be honest, I was expecting a bit more, probably a more extensive menu. One thing to not miss though is their green tea waffle topped with miso butter and shiso syrup. I enjoyed their rock shrimp tempura, okonomiyaki, veal sausages and umami chicken too. Of course, pancakes, garlic fried rice, bacon and omelets are breakfast staples everyone takes delight in. Dessert section is limited, but enough to fill your sweet tooth craving. Interiors are impressive, my favorite has got to be their outdoor cabana-styled dining terrace situated on an exclusive platform deck with views of Manila Bay. Pretty in all angles, be it in a day or night setting. I think everything was great except that they have to improve on customer relations. For two consecutive mornings that we have experienced dining at Nobu, their wait staff wasn’t too efficient or trained. They tend to be talking amongst themselves out loud (not even in a discreet manner). We dined around 6:30 am the first morning and that’s when we noticed it. The second day, we dined around 8:30 am and the restaurant was full since it was a weekend. The wait staff wasn’t talking among themselves but this time, I can feel that they’re not excited or happy to work, almost grumpy. One even forgot our request for water and coffee. This for a 5-star hotel? Not 5-star service after all. Although points go to the front desk person who has upgraded our room for no extra charge. I’m talking about the people working at Nobu restaurant, although not general, but at least 3 or 4 of them.

Verdict: I will still go back for the green tea waffles. I can’t wait to experience dining here at night too. I just hope this time they improve on service. Of course I cannot deny the fact that hotel facilities are superb and I will definitely plan out another time to check-in again for yet another rnr.

I was able to visit Nobu when I covered an event that was held there. The first thing you will notice upon entering is how beautiful and extravagant the place is (City of Dreams in general). The restaurant’s design in particular is like a fusion between Japanese and Western. If you want an even better ambiance, you should try out their cabana outside which just looks amazing. The place is perfect for all occasions like date nights, reunions, or even a place where you can propose to your fiancé to be.

As for the food, I was able to try out their Spicy Edamame for the appetizer. It’s steamed soy beans sautéed in chilli garlic sauce topped with crushed nuts. It’s basically just soy beans with chilli garlic sauce. It’s not super spicy which is the right flavor for me.

As for the Main Dish, I tried out their Chicken Tonkatsu Bento Box. Its streamed rice topped with crispy chicken tonkatsu served with karashi and tonkatsu sauce and mixed greens in spicy lemon dressing, oshinko and miso soup on the side. The chicken is fried just right so you can’t see that much excess oil. It was also juicy which I like and it has a big enough serving. The mixed green veggies was in a separate bento box which was stacked by the tonkatsu on top. The veggies were yummy, and sour just like the way I want it to be, and a perfect companion for the chicken tonkatsu. It is expensive from what you are paying. However, if you want a combination of good food and ambiance, this is the perfect place to be.

The rate is for the food that I tried.

In the last few days of summer, we stayed at Nobu Hotel in City of Dreams. The place was luxurious a.f. and was priced appropriately. The buffet breakfast was at Nobu Restaurant by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. It was a very enjoyable dining experience with high quality gourmet dishes, some of which were Japanese fusion like Breakfast Okonomiyaki, Green Tea Waffles and Green Tea Muffins among other things. The Okonomiyaki was great with the Umami Ketchup and Nobu Hot Sauce! Nobu Restaurant also had some local favorites like Longganisa and Taho to give foreign guests a preview of Filipino breakfast.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever eaten in. The place itself is very opulent and very sophisticated.

So we tried the mixed sushi platter which came with 10 piece of varied sushis plus six pieces of salmon maki and a cup of miso soup. The server took time to tell us the names of each sushi but it was too much for me to remember them all. I noticed that the fish/ seafood used is very fresh and each piece has more seafood than rice. Taste is excellent, the wasabi in the sushi is just right to give a hint of heat but not overwhelming. The fish/ seafood on top of the rice was not chewy and is very fresh.

Next we tried the yaki udon which is stir fried udon noodles. This dish looked and tasted a bit like philippine lomi but without the broth. It was also very good. The serving was generous enough for two people so I would say that the price was reasonable enough considering this is a hotel restaurant.

Drinks were lychee passion.

I was happy to see Nobu open here in Manila and I knew going in that it I should not compare it with memorable experiences in New York, LA, and Tokyo and would let it stand alone. That we had just won a long case and had a huge celebratory bottle of the best sake waiting for the team had everyone in the proper mood. The atmosphere was similarly minimalist and the degustation menu did not disappoint. Of course the hits like sea bass and cod were fantastic but I was particularly impressed with some of the refreshing departures towards the back end, namely the Uni amd I believe, skate.

This outlet at the city of dreams Manila lives up to the nobu experience. Great lounge and dining areas overlooking the infinity pools. We had the Toro Tartar as starters with the lobster shitake salad which very refreshing. For the mains we had the exquisite Black Cod Miso. Great experience and excellent service. If you are staying at the Nobu Hotel (which houses the restaurant) you can have breakfast at the restaurant every morning..what a treat!

Came upon an invite of a friend, was told that a Japanese chef creates excellent dishes in this restaurant. I just ate out but didn't want to pass up catching up with my good friend and try the dishes he was raving about.

The restaurant has tasteful interiors and an ambiance that gives you that positive vibe the minute you enter. Staff are very accomodating and quite attentive. I wasn't keen on ordering as I had just eaten elsewhere but can't resist trying out what they have. I instead just stole a few bites from the food my friend ordered, all were quite good! As my curiosity got tickled a bit, I decided to try out their Yellowtail (hamachi) sashimi. The sashimi had a twist on it as the chef placed jalapeños on them. Oooooh my...the hamachi was so delicately sweet and creamy...heavenly! I was impressed with the quality of produce they use and the culinary skills of the chef, it was just excellent! On the downside (for me at least), were the prices. I reckon I'd be spending a fortune (Php 3k-4k) to get my fill but then again, if money (for you) is no object, by all means, go for it and experience a culinary adventure.

I had the chance to eat breakfast here but I was truly regretful because it was a hurried affair. I would have wanted to linger and taste more and enjoy the luxurious ambiance.
First of all, everything about this restaurant screamed luxury. Even the simplest breakfast was turned into a gourmet creation. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they served bacon (because the food was mostly Japanese). Their pork tocino looked more like pork loin slices drizzled in caramelized sugar sauce. Their beef fried rice was a refreshing change from the usual breakfast fried/garlic rice and was quite tasty. They also offered mini breakfast plates on a separate menu. Too bad the wagyu tapsilog was not available at that time so I decided on the Karaage with Green Tea waffle which was beautiful to look at and even tastier when eaten.
Again, I regret not having savored the lot on the buffet table, especially the desserts, which were so beautifully appetizing.
The only negative that I have to point out would be that the chef on duty ruined my sunny side up egg - I expected it to be perfect since I was in Nobu - sadly it was all burnt around the edges and sorry looking. But it was just a small thing and my satisfaction overshadowed that.
The staff was very attentive and quick. Well trained of course, to keep up the standard.

The atmosphere in Nobu Manila is quite abit stripped of elegance, more polished chaos but with a clientele that is no less dressy. Much of the intimidation from an open plan space is largely dispelled with the premium exclusivity and seclusion (a prime gimmick of most Jap restos in the Metro) of Nobu Manila: the Al Fresco Floating Cabana. For a minimum of 60k-consummable dining space, this is nothing more than a glorified barbie. The Teppanyaki ‘open flame’ allows the chef to deliver superbly grilled meats (and seafood) with a touch of charcoal.

Speaking of which, the menu is largely organised by the style of cooking (though does not follow strictly): Sushi & Sashimi harbours it’s selection of traditional raw fish fare; Snacks, soups & salads, for all the side dishes; Nobu Manila's dishes are a selection of their signature stuff and finally the separate teppanyaki table where you will find the charcoaled infused grilled wagyus, tenderloins, et al.

I was expecting to be blown away by yet another exercise of refined elegance, and was not disappointed at all with the signature Black Cod Miso. They were quite a mouthful as I thought, and they have a superb undercooked melt in your mouth texture; it gyrates with a heated, charcoaled skin. It was above standard gindara fish, seared well enough, that looked so much better as it tasted. I find this very good, like the rest of the meal.

By this time, I wasn't opting to get satisfaction from the Yakimono Wagyu anymore. But the moment I tried it out, it just blew me away. It's the texture of the meat, chunky soft, intense. I can only think of one other place where I was positively blown away by grilled meat and that’s at Senju. Here, the chef made no errors in delivering the promise of the teppanyaki area. The meat cutlets were a godsend. It was juicy, mainting a warm and largely pink centre. The texture was dense, but tore away from the bone very easily. Oh, I felt like such an animal. The spicy hit was spot on, alternating with the smokiness to continually pound your tastebuds to umami heaven. And the heaty, smokey charred centre I was looking for – it was hidden away in these cutlets.

As you can appreciate, Nobu comes with a steep price tag. To buy into the Chef Matusiha brand of stripped down elegance in the heart of gambling town, you are looking at between Php3,000 to Php 5,000 per person, depending on what you order and how much you are willing to share your food. I’m overly critical and overly wordy with Nobu Manila because I actually really love this place (a first for a non-japanese eater). I love the concept of it and I think the food is lip smackingly brilliant. Aside from a few duds on the menu, I think Nobu is a prime example of an exceptional highly evolved, highly produced and eerily pretentious restaurant that so epitomises modern metropolitan classiness.

I highly recommend it if you have money to throw around.

My photos didn't do any justice on what I've experienced for brunch today. All thanks to my childhood rival turned friend for inviting me.

Nobu was an experience you would expect from restaurant in a casino, but im here to rate the food . First, I ordered two makeral sushi. then I ordered a warm mushroom salad that was citrusy with a light soy based sauce. If you're not a mushroom fan I wouldn't order this. For my main, I had the nobu paella and US tenderloin in wasabi pepper sauce. These two items go well with each other and left me wanting more. When eating the steak you should eat a bite with a little of everything on the plate. It will enhance the flavor and will leave a pop of flavors in your mouth. Ambiance, decor, and food were all worth the experience at this fine establishment. If you have extra money on pay day you should try nobu restaurant. The one thing I would say that was bad was. I asked to bring my mains together, but they didnt so I asked them why and they replied its on the way.

A sucker for tasting menus, seeing Nobu open in Manila had me all excited. Nobu is all about celebrating the beauty of the sea, with top of the line fresh produce from the sea, you can never doubt the quality of the dishes. Everything was prepared in all its simplicity, where you savor every bite, fish after fish, and get transported to the ocean.

While the food was exquisite, the dining experience wasn't able to keep up. Bad acoustics and the outrageous sitting capacity (which makes it feel as if you're in a food hall), gives the restaurant less points for overall experience.

Nobu is a beautiful restaurant with a long sushi counter, round indoor cubicles,  and outdoor cabanas which are great for small groups. Nobu's palette of grays, browns, yellows, and copper metal gives the venue an air of understated, unmistakable opulence.

I sampled a number of scrumptious items here and some a bit less so, from the rock shrimp in a creamy, citrusy sauce, a lobster ceviche, and a mains of grilled shrimp with lightly fried garlic chips and citrus squeezed over it. Wasn't too happy that the servers said my order would have three prawns, but only arrived with two...

Also, my friend ordered what turned out to be a tenderloin steak, and it wasn't what my friend ordered (she had ordered tenderloin barbecue).

Sorry to sound so petulant, but also our order of spicy edamame doesn't work at all. Edamame is popped out of its pod, so if it's served in the pod with chili slathered all over it, does one expect guests to willingly rub a lot of chili on one's lips if one doesn't want chili all over one's hands?

Ordering cautiously will not give you a good experience of Nobu - come here and splurge big! I'd rather look at a tasting menu first and turn it down so I have a good idea of what I'm in for.

My main comment is that if Nobu guests come in a little lost or hesitant, with a menu that is hard to understand, servers should take charge and recommend what Nobu's best at, or outline a sequence of delicious items that should be tried. We didn't get that, and that can influence one's meal accordingly.

The NOBU Restaurant is a Japanese & Peruvian-inspired restaurant by Celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa in City of Dreams Manila. It's the signature restaurant of the Nobu Hotel and the 2nd Celebrity Chef Restaurant to open in the metro. We had a special date with our foodie friends, Tina and Chef Guy, to check it out.

Nobu Manila is a casual-fine dining restaurant specializing in Japanese & Peruvian-inspired dishes. They exclusively serve the Nobu Sake and Matsuhisa wine. I love the hip, young, and Japanese-inspired ambiance with cool background music. You can sit on the Chef's table-sushi counter, or reserve this more secluded table with surrounding wood panels, or the al fresco Floating Cabana with a minimum consummable of P60,000. There's also a special Teppan-yaki table with a separate set and a la carte menu. Will try this next time.

Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño (P920) - The hamachi sashimi was delicate, with a smooth sauce and a nice touch of jalapeño to spice it up.

The Sushi Roll House Special (P540) is the signature roll at Nobu with fresh flavors of the ocean--flying fish roe, tuna, salmon, white fish, and snow crab--all in one big sushi bite.

I personally love the Rock Shrimp (P990)! It's spicy, with a light, flavorful cream and an addicting crunch. The flavors are well-balanced and not too overpowering.

You have to order the Black Cod Miso (P1,430), the Nobu Matsuhisa signature dish - premium black cod fillet marinated with white miso paste, sake, mirin (sweet japanese rice wine), and sugar. The cod meat itself is creamy with a sweet and spicy miso flavor.

We ordered Beef Kushiyaki (P785) - skewered beef marinated with teriyaki. It was very meaty and can be paired with rice.

The Nobu paella (P1,345) is good to share with 3-4 people. The flavors are light and balanced. The rice was OK but I was missing the tutong. It's a good, filling course to go with the other dishes.

Jidori Free Range Chicken (P1010) - the chicken was chopped and ready for chopsticks. The chicken meat is very lean with a light sauce. I would recommend this, especially if you're sharing.

We had an 8-course family sharing degustation from the a la carte menu so we could taste as many dishes as possible. You can check out the Chef's Daily Creations Omakase (P6,160) or Nobu Signature's Omakase (P4,480).

Genmai Cha with Matcha (P235) - The green tea was strong and bitter--just the way I like it.

You have to save room for the Nobu Desserts, which were part of the highlights of our Nobu experience.

Chocolate Bento Box (P365) - Chocolate fondant lava cake done well with green tea ice cream in a bento box.

Guru-berii (P450) - This is my personal favorite! Frozen Greek yogurt ice cream with blueberry foam, fresh raspberries and raspberry sauce, topped with smoked almond.

Miso Capuchino (P385) - For coffee lovers, a good, sweet ending to the Nobu Meal--made of miso-chocolate brulée, vanilla ice cream, candied pecans, and cappucino foam.

All prices mentioned do not include additional 10% service charge and local tax.

The NOBU Restaurant Manila is a great place to celebrate your special milestones with your loved ones, or for going on a foodie date with your family and friends. The restaurant is ideal for foodies looking for better quality of food in the metro. Make sure to order the signature dishes--Sushi Roll House Special, Rock Shrimp Creamy Spicy, and the Black Cod Miso. Don't forget the Nobu-exclusive sake and wine. You can really taste the flavors of the ingredients without overpowering sauces--light, balanced, and elegant. The a la carte dishes are small portions but can be shared with 2-3 persons. And you can assemble your own 8-course degustation so you can try more dishes. Make sure to save some space for dessert. I recommend the trio of their best desserts--Chocolate Bento Box, Guru-berii, and Miso Cappucino.

Budget P2,000-P3,000/head, or P4,000 - P6,000/head if you're going with the Omakase.

The portions on their own aren't very filling, and some people may find the dishes outrageously expensive for the size. But we love the attentive service staff, who go as far as wiping the table clean without you noticing it. Congratulations to the successful opening of Nobu Manila in City of Dreams!
