Everything suits my palate. Seafood is fresh, no aftertaste and the vegetables are fresh. You can taste the crunch in every bite. The staff are all smiling and they immediately attend to your needs. At the end of your meal, they offer chocolates which are so yummy just to even out the savoury flavor of food. I missed to post the wine but that was just great too.

The Giant Burrata was gigantic indeed. Well worth the price. It went well with a side of Eggplant Parmigiana, the portion of which was also generously filling for a side dish.
Taste-wise, no complaints. Flawless execution of each dish, and presentation was great 👍🏼
Best of all, the Chef and Waitress assigned to the table gave the best Service. Prompt response and on-their-toes smart.
Awesome dining experience so far! Shall definitely come back!

Came back to Finestea after a long while. Jay Renz was here again. Service was superb! Friendly people! Had my Prime Rib Eye, a little over cooked but still the best! Ian, my server always asked me for anything that I need. As always, please come to this place. I love it, you will love it! Five stars! Chef Alan, kudos! Cheers!

Amazing experience at Finestra. Service and cuisine are excellent. Chef is from Roma and he proposes fresh authentic Italian cuisine. Service was very professional and personal. I celebrated my birthday and they prepared a small surprise cake in addition to the tiramisu I ordered. Every single dish was delicious. Ambiance was also great with impressive interior and live music, which was very quiet and mellow.
I will definitely come back.
Only low point : other dinners with slippers should not be allowed or a strict dress code should be enforced.

The grandest steakhouse I've been to so far. Everything was expertly and lovingly done, with the setting, the staff, the setup, and the food. Their octupus carpaccio is a unique appetizer, simple yet elegant. The pasta was simple, al dente, and a classic. I loved that the Caesar salad had whole anchovy chunks. The steak is king, tender, flavorful, and just yummmm.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. I really am a fan of massive Interior design. I love the Interior lighting and the wine bar design as well. Wine bar and private kitchen nook are composed of cove lighted marble bar counter. Glass shelves for wine at the wine bar and a catchy wall cladding.

Coming for food, I had Risoni Zafferano. Was actually my first time to eat this kind of pasta. It is like a grain of rice, more easy to swallow and tasty. However, this dish i had was very salty.

We also had a 2 glasses of Montepulciano Moda and Limoncello Sangria (thanks to zomato gold 2+2 on drinks 😁). We also got to try the dark liquor chocolates. It was absolutely good!

Finestra is a great place to have a Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was pretty good, and the service was very fast. All my questions about the meals were answered, and I felt very welcomed. The ambience was perfect. There was a live singer, and the view of that sunset was worth it. Will definitely return!

Love the service, the staff were all attentive to their guests. For the food, it was good but I was expecting more because of the price. The beef carpaccio was really good. The truffle risotto was also good, but the pizza was just okay, nothing special. At the end of the meal, they gave us free chocolates for dessert.

I went to Finestra and enjoy the finest drinks and appetizers with a spectacular view of Manila Bay sunset in this classic Italian pre-meal tradition, APERITIVO. It is available from 5:30PM to 8:30PM at Finestra inside the Solaire Resort.

Finestra is an Italian fine dine-in restaurant of Solaire. It has an elegant and state-of-the-art interior from ceiling to floor. Classy furnitures, beautiful and shimmering chandeliers and shiny marbled and velvety carpeted floor.

During my recent visit I enjoyed unlimited wine and cocktails serve with Chef Alan’s selection of Cicchetti. And experience the best of Finestra with its mouthwatering dishes like the pizza, pasta, steak and many more.

Overall, I was satisfied with Finestra’s Aperitivo. Imagine I can drink unlimited premium cocktails paired with unlimited selections of tapas plus great service from their courteous staff for Php995.00+ only. So sulit!

Went here 08/15/18
My husband and I were suppose to dine at Waterside again for the steak, however, upon checking waterside was only offering drinks and chips so we decided to try yet another steak place in Solaire which is Finestra.

Ambiance:
5/5
Upon entering, you can see that the place is very elegant, lights are dim and ambiance was cozy. Chandeliers were beautiful, everything was so elegantly designed. We were greeted by servers and have us seated in 2 mins. We seated on a couch and it was pretty comfortable with the piano playing in the background.

Service:
5/5
Mary was our server that time and she was very cheerful, and honest. We were about to try their Tomahawk steak but she told us that maybe it was kinda too much for us, it’s 1,500grams and we may not be able to finish i because we’re only 2. So we thought about it and my husband got the Florentina T-bone Steak instead. It was a good decision. Servers who really are concern should help the diners decide on what to get.

Food:
5/5
So while waiting we were offered complimentary bread so we have something to bite into while waiting for our courses which could really take a long time, it was a set of different breads, they were all good. We didn’t finish it because while we’re enjoying eat, main courses were being served. We didn’t wait long for our orders which was great. Besides the steak, I ordered Tartufo Carbonara, and their signature iced tea. We didn’t order much because we’re after the steak.
T-bone was perfect, very tender, perfect balance of smokiness and the sauce added to the richness of the flavours. 800 grams was enough for sharing
The Carbonara was good too, not too salty, very creamy and pasta was cooked perfectly not too soft and very smooth.
Signature iced tea is a must try.
I decided not to get the moist chocolate I wanted to try because we were full! But! They have this complimentary chocolate collection where you can try, them all. THEY WERE GOOD! After savouries, one needs some sweets.

Price was reasonable, nothing you wouldn’t expect from a fine dining, perfect place to celebrate special occasions. ✅
Will definitely come back ✅

Eating before a food blog event is a rookie mistake, especially if  that event is a fancy dinner. I was fortunate enough to be invited by ZomatoPH to Finestra Italian Steakhouse, one of Solaire’s notable establishments. The unfortunate part was that I got greedy over lunch and had an entire plate of pork katsu curry rice to myself. Big mistake! I was still so umay by dinner time, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying Finestra’s quality dishes by Italian Chef Alan Marchetti and Finestra’s finest. [Read More]

Great restaurant for special occasions.

I had a pleasant evening celebrating my birthday with their delicious food, nice ambience, great performers, and attentive servers as well. Everything is just so delicious! I specially liked the chilean sea bass, perfect flavor and juicy enough to satisfy my taste buds. However, just had a hard time reading through the menu because of the dim lighting, i think it would be great if a flashlight is provided just for ordering purposes to avoid difficulties during dinner time. But all in all, my family and I had a great dining experience!

My friend celebrated her birthday here and we had the best time. The food was really good. We ordered their rib eye bone-in, agnolotti tartufo carbonara, and a pizette. The serving was hefty for it’s price. Aside from this, there were also a lot of complimentary items given. We were given bread for starters, a wide selection of chocolates for dessert, a cake for my friend, as well as cocktails to cap off our meal! Our experience, of course, was made more pleasant by our very kind server, Mary Neiel.

I would say that the ambience of the restaurant is suiting for a romantic date because aside from the dim lights and lovely interiors, there was also a singer serenading the guests when we went here.

Will definitely be coming back to celebrate more occasions here.

Best steak I’ve ever tasted in metro manila. Two thumbs up for the rib-eye with the foie grass butter sauce, splendid! If I have another thumb I’ll give it another two thumbs up. You can try others steaks here, I’m sure they all taste great! Wanted to try their tomahawk steak but it’s 1500g. I think that’s a bit too much for me to eat it all. Would definitely come back here again.

10/10 for the place
10/10 for the food
7/10 for the price

Pricey but worth it. Had 3600php for the 500g steak. Considering the location of the place that’s what I would expect but too pricey.

I had their cold brew cocktail which was a coffee flavored drink. I usually avoid coffee with alcohol but the bartenders here really know how to mix it well, resulting in a beautiful smooth blend of flavors.
Their wine listing is not as extensive as I would have hoped but they do provide a decent amount of choices.
You definitely have to try their hors d'oeuvres. I had their mascarpone ravioli and the filling just melted in my mouth.
The ambience of the place follows through with the casino theme, elegant and luxe, but relaxed.

Ate here last January, pricey food but that doesn’t matter it’s a casino restaurant. Service was very nice and food tasted better than most other pricey Restos. For oysters I recommend ordering fresh instead of baked since it tastes more authentic that way.

Service is also great with the staff very attentive to your needs. Food is great. We had their Finestra Ceasar Salad and we loved it. Also loved their bread especially when you dip it in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We also got their ribeye bone in steak. It was soft and tender and tasty. Plus, when we were there last Dec 23, they had a great performer which definitely adds to its Italian elegant ambience.

Hands down to one of the best steaks I've tried! We ordered the USDA Angus Beef Rib Eye and everything about it was just perfect.

The steak we ordered, prepared medium, was really juicy and tender that you couldn't stop taking a bite one after the other. As for the marinade, the steak didn't even need any seasoning since it had the right amount of flavor to it - salty but does not overpower the taste of the meat. We had an option to choose the sauce/seasoning for the steak and we got the Foie Gras Butter. It was a good choice since it just added a hint to the delicious steak.

Whenever we eat at steak restaurants we also are particular with the knife that goes with the steak. The knife they brought to the table just complimented the meal. The knife was able to cut portions easily without me exerting much effort and to that I give you guys two thumbs up!

This would definitely in my top 3 list of places to go for the finest steaks in town!

“Step into a world of indulgence at the premier integrated resort in Manila…” - Solaire Resort & Casino

Solaire Resort and Casino is just 15-minute ride from my work. It is a tiring day and need to pamper myself to ease stress on my body. It’s too early to go home and decided to visit this place. It’s not yet weekend and got the chance to roam around and look for a best spot to de-stress.

One of the awesome finds in Solaire is Finestra Italian Steakhouse. Finestra derived from a Latin word “fenestra” which means window. It has an amazing view, very picturesque and breathtaking.

An amazing dining experience is waiting for you! To dine at this place is like you are part of the Royal Family. Finestra Italian Steakhouse has sophisticated interior designs plus alluring chandeliers and the floor is well-covered with soft carpet. The bathroom is clean, well ordered and very fascinating. They also have a designated smoking area at their bar. Their staffs were friendly and accommodating. Excellent service, they were all kind, vigilant and dedicated to serve their guests.

At first, they served us their complimentary bread basket which has balsamic vinaigrette on the side. È buono, tastes like heaven! One is definitely not enough!

I feel so grateful that I got the chance to try this impeccable place especially their meals. Here were some of their featured dishes that I am sure your mouth will water:

Antipasti:

Fine de Claire – it is a seafood dish. It is an oyster comes with beefroot tartar, mango and pearls. It is juicy with balanced taste. Yummy!

Octopus carpaccio – Thin-sliced octopus with cherry tomatoes, olives, spring onion, basil, Ligurian extra virgin olive oil and Amalfi lemon zest. This is superb, Love at first bite!

Pizza Primavera – This is my top pick and favorite among all the dishes, ‘cause pizza is love! I really love how it tastes! It has mozzarella, prosciutto di Parna, wild rocket, 680 parmesan shavings and truffle oil. One is definitely not enough, have some more!

Giant Burrata – it comes with heirloom tomatoes, homegrown herbs, and 25-year-old Modena balsamic vinegar that adds flavor on the dish.

Main Course:

Josper grilled USDA Omaha Beef Tenderloin- this also one of my favorites, these succulent steaks are perfectly cooked and the smells flavorsome, and it comes with porcini mushrooms, potato mousseline, baby leeks and crispy pancetta. You can have this delish steak for Php 3,600.

Organic Spring Chicken Cacciatore – this delightful dish composed of 500 grams San Marzano tomatoes, Tagiasca olives, sage, thyme herbs, and roasted jus.

Chilean Sea Bass al Cartoccio - 200 grams cannellini beans and pesto sauce.

This ravishing Agnolotti Tartufo Carbonara comes with handmade pasta parcel, carbonara stuffing, crispy bacon, diced zucchini, and black truffle. It costs Php 1,080.

Contorni:

Josper Grilled Asparagus - Php 200 comes with lemon zest and Ligurian extra virgin olive oil.

Cauliflower Puttanesca - Php 200

Duck Fried Potato Chips - Php 200 - sea salt, and thyme.

To end the evening, do not forget the desserts (Dolci). Finestra Italian Steakhouse has the best desserts so far. They have Baked Alaska and Lemon Dome. The Baked Alaska is perfection and extremely delish! It has hazelnut, coffee, and chocolate ice cream in it and topped with browned meringue. So yum and you can have it for only Php 550! And don’t miss this out! You can also try their Finestra Tiramusi (Php 550), this is not the usual Tiramisu. It’s special and Instagram worthy. Love the taste of mascarpone (Italian Cream Cheese) and it also have Marsala, lady finger, and coffee. Lastly, the Lemon Dome (Php 360), definitely a Lemon flavored cake. It has Lemon cremeaux, almond sponge, and Limoncello sorbet. This is the most Instagram worthy among all the desserts. It’s dainty and looks like a real lemon, tastes sour but delicioso!

Straightforwardly, everything was great, the service, the food, the staffs, the ambiance and I must say that the price is right. Worth it! I am grateful that I got the chance to try all of these at Finestra Italian Steakhouse. Truly an amazing experience! And also we met their humble Chef, Chef Allan Marchetti, he is nice and accommodating!

I will definitely go back here and recommend to my friends and family, I will let them experience the Italian vibe of Finestra Italian Steakhouse. This place is perfect and highly recommended for romantic dates! Ciao!

PS:
I only have few photos. My phone was reset, all my photos was gone. And only few photos on my camera left.

Finestra could be your gateway to exquisite Italian dining without the need to fly out to Europe. The restaurant’s name, which means “window” when translated into English, is Solaire Resort and Casino’s signature Italian steakhouse.

Here, you can upgrade your overall food experience, as you indulge in cuts of Australian Blackmore and US Snake River Farms Wagyu beef, cooked to perfection by Chef Allan Marchetti. At Finestra, you can boldly state that your meal is “a cut above the rest.”

Heading there last week was not as stressful as I anticipated. It was as if Manila traffic cooperated for this special feast organized by Zomato. I, together with other food bloggers, was invited to indulge in their upcoming Christmas menu – a sampler of classic dishes with modern twists composed of different meats and Italian staples.

Finestra's sophisticated interiors boasted of walls of glass and chandeliers of ornate Murano from Italy. Its ceiling reached the heavens, floors were well carpeted, and their furniture fit for royalty. Going inside was like traversing a grand palace, and I was their very important guest. You can expect impeccable service here – personalized, informative, and intimate.

As you dine, you will most likely notice their open kitchen set-up. It's a stage where everything happens and you can observe it with full access. I was impressed by how clean, organized and quiet everything was, despite a relatively busy night for them.

For starters, we sampled their fresh Fine de Claire (Php 1,900). These were newly opened, fattened and with a fruity touch on oysters. An alternative, if you are up for an adventure, is the Octopus Carpaccio (Php 680). This flattened invertebrate was mixed wonderfully with cherry tomatoes, olives, spring onion, basil, Ligurian extra virgin olive oil, and Amalfi lemon zest. It was quite addictive to eat. It had a nice moist and chewy feel paired with strong citrus taste.

Not to forget, we were served the signature Italian dish, pizza. We got the Primavera (Php 680), which had mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, wild rocket, parmesan shavings and bold truffle oil. This was a gastronomic bite after another – even with its relatively simple ingredients – a favorite ensemble made elegant by the Chef. I also loved the rustic crust, soft with a slight crispy touch on the onset.

Another Antipasti attention stealer was their Giant Burrata (Php 1,700), accompanied by heirloom tomatoes, homegrown herbs, and a 25-year-old Modena balsamic vinegar to give a boost of seasoning. Even if mozzarella is not my go-to cheese, I enjoyed the smoother and chunky version of this here.

Flashed in front of our eyes was the Josper grilled USDA Omaha Beef Tenderloin (Php 3,600). This was perfectly medium grilled with an overly juicy pink center. It was joined by porcini mushrooms, potato mousseline, baby leeks and crispy pancetta. Our 300-gram wonder sadly vanished too fast with my palate still longing for it. This is just one of the varieties of steak Finesta is proud of.

Next was the Organic Spring Chicken Cacciatore (Php 2,100/500 grams), with San Marzano tomatoes, Tagiasca olives, sage, thyme herbs, and roasted jus. It resembled the charm of our Filipino Adobo, only more enchanting. I enjoyed this dish tremendously for its abounding flavors that I ordered a cup of rice with it, even if Finestra didn't offer it in their menu. The wait staff ran out to search for me.

Other notable Italian delights here included their Chilean Sea Bass al Cartoccio (Php 2,100/200 grams), with cannellini beans and pesto sauce. This was a favorite of the ladies at our small table. We were also served a pasta piece in Agnolotti Tartufo Carbonara (Php 1,080), a handmade pasta parcel, carbonara stuffing, crispy bacon, diced zucchini, and black truffle. This impressed me as it was like an art piece. How does one think of arranging two pastas in one?

For the contorni or side dishes, there were Josper Grilled Asparagus (Php 200) with lemon zest and Ligurian extra virgin olive oil, Cauliflower Puttanesca (Php 200), and Duck Fried Potato Chips (Php 200) with sea salt, and thyme. You may stay away from the latter if you are veering away from extra weight.

For Dolci or dessert, we were treated to the most fitting sweets to cap off our modern Italian meal. The Baked Alaska (Php 550), an igloo-shaped creation, had homemade hazelnut, coffee, and chocolate ice cream in it. This was a balanced blend of hot and cold, a cake and ice cream in one go. They also threw in the Finestra Tiramusi (Php 550). This version had mascarpone, marsala, lady finger, and coffee, a classic and timeless cake. I was not much of a fan of the Lemon Dome (Php 360), which had lemon cremeaux, almond sponge, and Limoncello sorbet. But out of all the desserts we had, it was the most interesting to take a picture of.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Allan Marchetti, a pleasant and endearing individual, a far cry from the stereotype of the angry and passionate chefs. His creations may be intimidating for its combinations, flavors, and price, but he does give you and me an unforgettable trip to Italy right where we are.

It was His birthday. After going rounds on solaire, we finally decided to have a special dinner night in this romantic restaurant. They have ultra high ceiling with gorgeous carpetry, cushioned seats and elegant chandeliers. The ambiance was really romantic and private.
They gave us 2 servings of fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic reduction. We ordered their beef tenderloin 300g (3600pesos), linguine with clams, and truffle mash potato for sides. Yes it was far from our usual dining choice (we are frugal people) but i say, tonight was special, lets forget the price and enjoy the night.
The beef tenderloin was one of the best steaks i had -it was super tender, grilled to perfection -medium well. The pasta was al dente, the clams were sweet. The truffle mash potato was to die for. After the entrees, they gave us a complimentary tarts and assorted sweets.
It was magical night. #foodie:D

It was our first time eating here, and I know I'll be coming back soon! Staff was great, Food was tasty and delicious and the best part is there we're a lot of complimentary dishes that was given to us! Although the prices is a bit high, It will give you a luxurious experience even for one night! We came in a little early and even if It opens around 7pm they gladly asked us if we wanted to be seated already (since we have no place to go that time) Kudos to the manager that time who talked to us and even sharing his personal life just to make us feel comfortable while waiting for our food! And to the waiter as well who gave us extra complimentary chocolates and an anniversary cake all for free!

It’s my first time to dine here at Finestra Italian Steakhouse and I knew it from the start that I will come back anytime soon. Everything we had was superb! Good food with impressive ambiance. The place itself will make you relax, definitely a romantic Italian dining experience.

While waiting for our food, they served a complimentary bread basket with balsamic vinaigrette on the side. The bread is soooo good! I ate 3 pieces already but I had to stop because we have so much to eat pa. Okay, let’s get into the food!

Antipasti:

Crab Cake made with Amalfi lemon emulsion with Italian slaw on the side. This is actually one of the best crab cake i’ve ever had! Juicy, sweet and flavorful! The Octopus Carpaccio topped with cherry tomatoes, olives, spring onion, basil, Liguran extra virgin olive oil, Amalfi lemon zest. OMG! This is now my new favorite! Delicate, paper-thin sliced octopus. SUPERB!!! Next, Fritto Misto, a deep fried king prawns, calamari and zucchini. I liked it because its not too oily and it’s very flavorful. OMG!!! Their Finestra Caesar is soooo yummy! It’s topped with Spanish marinated anchovies, pancetta, aged parmesan, grilled focaccia croutons. One of the best Caesar Salad I’ve tried. and the Pizza Primavera, covered with Mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, wild rocket, 680 parmesan shavings drizzled with truffle oil.

Secondi:

Snake River Wagyu Beef Top Blade (300g) - Only Finestra serves this kind of steak. At first bite, I literally went to Food Heaven, so tender that it melts in your mouth. A bit pricey but it’s WORTH IT! I swear!

Organic Spring Chichen Cacciatore (200g) - San Marzano tomatoes, Tagiasca olives, sage, thyme herbs, roasting jus. This one is also good, the chicken was juicy and flavorful and it smells so good because of the spices in it.

Chilean Sea Bass al Cartoccio (200g) - Cannellini beans and pesto sauce. Perfectly cooked Sea Bass! Just to neutralize everything, the flavors are very light but delicious.

Agnolotti Tartufo Carbonara - Handmade pasta parcels, carbonara stuffing, crispy bacon, diced zucchini, black truffle. This is not your ordinary carbonara! Bursting flavors at first bite. The carbona stuffing was incredible!

Contorni:

Josper grilled asparagus with lemon zests and 200 Liguran extra virgin olive oil, Cauliflower puttanesca and Duck fat fried potato chips with sea salt & thyme

Dolci: My FAVORITE PART!!! We had 3 kinds of desserts, the first one is the Warm Chocolate Cake, they poured the warm chocolate at the top of the dome and surprise! The banoffee cake and chocolate icecream are waiting inside. Time to indulge! 2nd is the Lemon dome - Lemon cremeaux, almond sponge, limoncello sorbet. I’m not a fan of lemon desserts, but this gave me a good impression of lemon desserts! So yummy! and last but not the least, Finestra Tiramisu! made with Mascarpone, marsala, lady finger and coffee. MY FAVORITE! THE BEST TIRAMISU EVER. We also had Limoncello to cleanse our palate.

Finestra Italian Steakhouse is highly recommended for romantic / intimate dates and gatherings. I WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK!

The starters alone make your visit so worth it, from the Finestra Caesar (P 680), the Crab Cake (P 900), and the Octopus Carpaccio (P 680), each one a tasty prelude before the main course. Just like a classic steakhouse, Finestra Italian Steakhouse offers a variety of fresh seafood, including succulent crabs from Alaska, delicate Fine de Claire oysters from France and plump Pacific oysters from Japan. The Crab Cake and Octopus Carpaccio are just some of the must-try seafood dishes at Finestra. The thick crab cakes with tender crab meat deliver a briny sweetness capped by a lightly crisp outer layer for textural contrast, while the paper-thin slices of the octopus carpaccio just melts in your mouth followed by the vibrant notes of the cherry tomatoes and Amalfi lemons and perfectly finished by the deep, nutty notes of the Ligurian extra virgin olive oil.

But it's the premium steaks that are now redefining Finestra, with its high-end selection of prime beef from Idaho's Snake River Farms, USDA Omaha Angus beef from Nebraska, and Australia's Blackmore Wagyu beef. You can try the Meat Sampler with all three cuts or go all out with the USDA Angus Tomahawk, your call. I recommend the Snake River Farms' Wagyu Beef Top Blade (P 3,900-300g), a tender and perfectly marbled slab of beef with a savory richness that lingers long after the first bite. And with beef this good, all you need is a pinch of rock salt and nothing else. The prices may be a bit steep, but that's expected. Good steaks don't come cheap. But what sets Finestra Italian Steakhouse apart from the usual steakhouses are its authentic Italian offerings. You can opt for a rustic, hunter-style Organic Spring Chicken Cacciatore (P 2,100) simmered with herbs or the Chilean Sea Bass al Cartoccio, a delicate dish with the fish wrapped and cooked in paper sealing in the juices for a light yet flavorful option. For dessert, cap your feast with the indulgent Lemon Dome, the Warm Chocolate Cake (P 360) with its impressive chocolate ball containing cake and ice cream, and the timeless Tiramisu (P 300 Single/P 550 Sharing).

From starters to mains and desserts, Finestra Italian Steakhouse makes an impression. If its premium steaks with that distinct Italian vibe you're after, it's definitely Finestra Italian Steakhouse.

What's a night at the theater without a pre-show dinner?😄

Got to Solaire quite early, giving us time to eat dinner somewhat leisurely... My mom, dad and I were there first and decided to go Italian, hence Finestra...😊

As we got there by 6pm, we were accommodated without reservations... Though I do recommend that you call ahead, it does get packed!😱

It was a very elegant restaurant, with a beautiful bar up front... The high cabinet has floor to ceiling alcohol, tastefully displayed... We were seated on the plush upholstered circular booth, where we had the arduous task of choosing our dinner... To help our unenviable position, we were served an assortment of freshly baked bread... What is it with hotels (it's still part of the hotel) and bread? These carb loaded beauties are usually so good, as is the case with Finestra!👍

My parents split a salad and ordered the deep fried mozzarella balls... The salad they chose had figs and cherry tomatoes with a balsamic vinegar dressing... It was okay for me... The mozzarella balls had initially liquid cheese inside due to the heat... These were really good, served with four kinds of dip... Very enjoyable and heavy appetizer actually...

My mom ordered the Tartufo pizza, which we all got to share... Fair warning, it was big... The pizza had truffle and Parma ham-- always a great pairing... The crust was just wonderful!👍 great choice!

My dad ordered pork chops while I wanted the risotto... But the rest of our party (the early birds at least) were already able to join us and the main dishes were still not served... Very disappointing, to think we already warned them ahead of time that we were there for the show...

The newcomers helped out with the rest of the pizza and they all ordered their respective soups... When asked, they all thought the soups were just okay, nothing special...😳

After more than 30mins of waiting, the pork chops and risotto finally arrived... The chops were cooked perfectly... But as for my risotto, it was also just okay... I had high hopes for the dish, but it wasn't met...

Other orders, such as their beef carpaccio and salmon started arriving, all of which I wasn't able to taste anymore... 😊

I'm forgetting to mention that I also ordered their mocktail, Rosaline... It's made of Rose water and cucumber which is an excellent combination, resulting in a refreshing drink... I recommend you try this...🌹

Overall, the place was very elegant and most dishes were delicious... I understand that the waiters and staff were swamped that night... But they were still able to accommodate requests for taking pics and filling water glasses... I enjoyed the experience actually, though I feel that I would have enjoyed it more if not for the time crunch... Lovely place, okay service... A bit on the pricey side but not too bad...😊

The overall experience i had in this restaurant was amazing, it is a complete package with the ambiance, interiors, food, and the outstanding staff.

The staff would really go and beyond to make their guest experience memorable, i would commend Ashley, for arranging an amazing sunset cocktail and the wonderful dinner set-up complete with rose petals on our table.

Food is superb, their gnocchi is by far the best I've ever had here in Manila.
The eggplant parmigiana was a combination of crunch and silky texture that is bursting with flavors.

Two thumbs up!

I celebrated my birthday with friends here. A lot of people recommended the place. It did not disappoint. We love the ambiance. The food was amazing. We ordered the truffled mushroom pizza to share. Surprisingly good. Very small serving though.

Billed as a singular experience with the average ticket per person of upwards of one grand for a modest meal. Coming in I thought to myself this had better be worth it. The ambience and the service did not make me feel like a millionaire. All right, at least the staff made me feel at home. The food arrived and the presentation was superb. I ordered a minestrone soup but they put before me a bowl of fusilli pasta. Good thing I didn't dive in just yet because the soup and garnishing were poured in 5 minutes later. The bread and the appetizers like beef carpaccio was already satisfying. The flatbread pizza was a meal in itself. And then the flat iron cut steak arrived. It was tough. Tough to eat because I was already full. Tough to the bite, too. Disappointing. What saved the day was the tray of chocolates that was wheeled in. Many drawers and secret compartments were opened for me to choose from. It was like jewelry I could eat. That for me was the highlight of the meal. They saved the best for last. Clearly my bill ran up to 3K. I wouldn't eat here if I had to pay for my meal. It was truly a singular experience.

UPDATED REVIEW AS OF 2018

Finestra is officially my whole family including my boyfriend and I's favorite Italian restaurant in town. Everything is cooked to perfection, and everything is worth the pricetag. My recommendations would be:

Mushroom Cappuccino soup

Capesante e Pancetta -Seared Hokkaido Scallops, crispy pancetta, moedilla sausage
Fresh Oysters - say goodbye to your whole wallet, but say hello the huge oysters...they are as big as your palm, and so fresh, my dad keeps thinking about them.

Agnolotti Tartufo Carbonara - if you can only have one carbonara dish in your lifetime, this should be it. These are perfectly handmade pouches of pasta oozing with cheese....I'm drooling..

Agnello -8 bone lamb rack. THE BEST LAMB RACK DISH EVER. Forget about the steak, I say you go for the lamb rack.

If youre crazy about steak.. fine. Go try the Tomahawk!

Also, while youre at it, dont forget to ask for their fine selection of mustard dips..truffle flavored mustard included!

To finish the whole meal with a palette cleanser.... Please go for the Alaska. For 380, you get 3 desserts at once, and all in lemon flavor. The best!

If you get lucky, they'd give you limoncello to finish off.

I am not gonna go into detail because you gotta try these out for yourself and let me know which ones you like!

Had our valentines date at finestra this year and it definitely is a far cry from all our annual valentines buffet dinners at spiral and fresh. Was lucky to get a hold on a table two days before valentines. Upon reservation, I was already informed that they will only be serving set menus, meaning, no ala carte entrees (to be honest, I was a little bit disappointed because their menu is actually very enticing!!! But it being Solaire's actually reassured me that the food and the overall experience will be great.

The interior design is beyond spectacular, very grand and classy. Love everything especially the chandeliers lit up by recessed lights. Beautifully designed and planned. Service was impeccable as well.

A three course menu for the price of 2500++ might be discouraging as I've had an 8 course menu at Strip for only 2000 before and that was unforgettable, but to give credit to them, Finestra's portions were really really big. We had all the set menus except the vegetarian one (kudos to them for actually thinking of vegans).

We were of course first served with the house bread. Lovely set and the dips were so good. Everyone enjoyed this part of the experience. I personally loved the white dip. Didnt get its name but it tastes a little bit like cheese? After that, the amuse bouche arrived. The amuse bouche is really a crucial part of a meal for me as it sets more realistic expectations. We were served with a tiny cheesy croquette and it was party in my mouth. Bursting with flavor and all that. My eyes literally widened. So good!

Moving on... I got the menu tre,

To begin
Pan-seared goose liver with caramelized apples and eggplant puree -- divine. Loved everything about this, definitely a great start to my meal. It wasnt as warm as I wanted it to be, but the goose liver tasted really good.

I also got to try menu uno and due's caprese and burrata salad. I have to say that I liked the fresh burrata salad more than the caprese one since the portobello mushrooms were really overpowering.

Secondi Piatti
Risotto of fresh peas topped with grilled prime beef fillet and pancetta crisp -- pancetta was tasty and of course crispy as I wanted it to be. Serving was beyond expectations. Risotto was good. Very consistent in flavor and light. Finally, an entree that encourages me to eat steak with rice!! Steak was okay, not as tender as my brother and I expected it to be, but I loved it nevertheless.

Menu uno's lamb three ways was really really good. Meat was tender and very flavorful. Lamb loin alla romana & eggplant caponata tasted more like upscale spaghetti and meatballs.

Dolce
Bitter sweet chocolate delight, black cherries,& raspberry jelly for two. There were 5 of us and we were only served three plates, which is something I don't really get. One would expect so much more from a restaurant like this when it comes to dessert. For me, it should be fireworks and wows. I don't know but this was the disappointing part. I love the theme but it isn't something I cant find from other restaurants. Very forgettable even if the chocolate tasted good.

Nevertheless, it was still a lovely dinner with the best people in the world. Love, love the ambience. Would definitely come back for the ala carte menu. Im sure they have so much more to offer.

Finestra is the signature Italian restaurant located Solaire Resort and Casino. The interiors are all-clazz. Yes, with Z's for all those uber classy drop down chandeliers and wall embellishments, high ceilings and nice open kitchen!

What we had:

Bianca con Rucola - Finestra's pizza is more soft and pillowy than crusty. I liked the chewy parts but there were also some wet and soggy portions.

Veal cutlet Milanese with cauliflowers, chopped tomatoes and arugula salad - This was huge in size but tasted just okay. The arugula salad was a treat.

Sardinian lamb chops with herbs, potatoes and pearl onions "pizzaiola," roasted eggplant puree with cinnamon - Could be better seasoned and a lot more tender.

There are still a whole lot of things to try. Will update my rating and give a full blown review next time. Points go to ambiance and dining experience.

I could say that this is one of the best Italian restaurants here in the metro that i've tried so far. This is fine dining throughout as the interiors were elegant and beautiful and the tables were far apart, giving it a more private affair. The idea of an open kitchen in the restaurant also gives off the idea that you know your chef will give quality dishes.

Upon ordering we were already given a complimentary refillable bread basket which had different selections of bread that you can dip in balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and parmesan cheese. We tried mixing the dips with the bread and it definitely was a great appetizer.

We ordered their risotto of the day, carbonara cremosa, lasagna emiliana and maccheroncini al ragu di carne. Each of their dishes were extremely delicious and flavorful. Sauce in the pastas were generous as well as their serving sizes. Due to their serving sizes, we were able to try the other's ordered dish and it was great.

To top it off, we wanted to get to know the head chef, Salvatore De Vincentis and we did. He was very accommodating and he asked if our orders were up to our expectations and if we needed anything else to satisfy our dinner.

Overall, this is one restaurant you would want to dine in and enjoy. Ambiance, service and staff were exemplary. A great experience indeed.

I am always rather excited to try out the food in Solaire and last Sunday I had the opportunity to dine in Finestra for a family gathering which was hosted by my Ninong.

Design-wise, the fine-dining Italian restaurant is without a doubt aesthetically beautiful and simply oozes posh. With high ceilings, beautiful furniture, crystal decoration hanging practically everywhere - it was all very elegant. However, we did not dine in the main space and were actually seated in one of the private rooms, which had a lovely aura of intimacy.

Service-wise, of course the staff were all extremely well-trained. Throughout our meal they would go in and out of the room quite swiftly, answered all our questions, were attentive with anything we may need, etc. They have evidently had top-notch training and made us feel welcome the entire time.

Food-wise, I have made a list of everything I had gotten to try:

Amuse Bouche
The bite-sized complimentary appetizer that they served us first was very cute. It was a small square of what looked to be mixed meat with a dollop of blended tomato sauce on top. I did not get to ask what it was, but it was a light, fresh and tasty hors d'œuvre to start off the meal with.

Salumeria
We had a plate of imported cured meats from Lucania along with a selection of cheese, grilled vegetables and home baked breads. A straight-forward starter. The prosciutto and salami cold-cuts were delicious with the warm bread that was served to us - I recommend the cheese bread from the selection.

Tartufo
An oven-baked pizza with black truffles, double cream and porcini mushrooms. The smell of the truffles was delicious when it wafted throughout the room. The dish  was so freshly baked that the bread was nice and hot - dripping with cheese and oil. It tasted superb.

Saporita Bianca
Another delicious oven-baked pizza with creamy burrata cheese & arugula lettuce. Very straight-forward but the burrata flavors were just melt-worthy and went well with the slight bitterness of the arugula on the hot pan-bread.

Bombardoni All'astice
A fresh, hand-made linquini pasta dish with lobster and a roasted heirloom tomatoes marinara sauce. It was steaming hot when served and the tomato sauce was flavored perfectly - not too sweet or watery at all. The lobster was cooked well.

Paccheri Tartufati
Another freshly-made pasta dish that looked like large flat tubes mixed with porcini mushrooms & white truffle cream. It was just as aromatic as the Tartufo pizza, which was mouth-watering. Despite its appearance, it was actually quite heavy to get just three pieces of the pasta. Every bite was full of flavor.

Fiorentina
The star dish of the night was the grilled T-bone steak cooked with Sicilian sea salt. I believe they had it done Medium Rare, since the meat had some pinkish sections. It was unbelievably delicious! The tough-looking steak just broke apart with flavor in your mouth with every chew. I had to stop myself from getting the bone to much on because it looked just as tasty. It was an A+ dish that I would highly recommend.

Dessert
For dessert, the plating was lovely to look at - almost too pretty to eat! There was a jar of tiramisu as well as what looked to be strawberry cheesecake, and chocolate cake as well. I am not much of a dessert person, so sampled each and they definitely tasted as good as they looked.

Over-all, I am giving my experience at this establishment a 4.0. Aside from the service and one or two dishes being noteworthy, I find that there was nothing in particular that would have me crawling back for more. But it is a fantastic restaurant, obviously, and I would recommend it to anyone who would want to experience Italian fine-dining.

Finestra is the fine dining Italian resto of Solaire. Food is awesome and well-prepared. We ordered salad (corsa cucina), pizza (prosciutto) and pasta (split a paccheri tartufati and lasagna emiliana) for the middle and topped our meal off with dessert and coffee. The salad was EXCELLENT. I'm not a fan of greens but this was one salad I truly enjoyed. The pizza was good too, very authentic italian-style. Even the dough was cooked just right. The pastas were excellent as well, although i favor the pacherri tartufati as I'm more a fan of mushrooms and cream-based pastas. For dessert, the tiramisu was excellent. The others were okay. Interiors of this place are very nice. And the service is world-class. Just like any fine dining resto, the prices here are quite steep. But if you're looking for a fine dining Italian resto for whatever occasion, Finestra should definitely be on your shortlist.

Finestra is an Italian restaurant known for their authentic handmade pastas, designer pizzas, artisan olive oils and homemade gelato and sherbet. Finestra in Italian means "windows" which I found quite appropriate as their restaurant's interior boasts of the floor to ceiling windows that gives a wonderful view of the Manila Bay and Solaire pool outside. Very elegant.

There is no doubt that Finestra captures the flavors of Italy as their Executive Chef is Salvatore De Vincentis, who has worked for 20 years and won numerous awards like Best Executive Chef for Italian Cuisine at the WOFEX Worldwide Competition Awards, Best Italian Restaurant for Edsa Shangri-La Manila's Paparazzi at the 2009 Nescafe Gold Spot Awards, and Best Italian Restaurant for Mezzo Mezzo, JW Marriott Hotel, Mumbai at the 2012 Times Food and Nightlife Awards.

Saltimbocca Alla Sorrentina
Here's what I do know though, the tomato sauce goes well with the Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese.
Plus, the veal slices are very tender and juicy. Something even a plastic butter knife could cut through. One of the chef's signature creations only available for the month of March as an Anniversary Special Offer, I will be honest, I know little of Italian cuisine so I couldn't comment much about this dish.

I visited Finestra during the first ever Zomato Food Crawl.  Though I visited it, giving them a rating would not be that objective since I only got to taste one particular food.  I am giving them a ating based on the venue and the food we tasted.

Finestra is a fine dining restaurantheaded by their Executive Chef Salvatore De Vincentis. This restaurant brings the colors and flabors of Italy to Solaire Resory and Casino. They make authentic handmade pastas, designer pizzas, artesian olive oils and homemade gelato and sherbet all delight with their rich flavors and finest quality ingredients.

Saltimbocca Alla Sorrentina is Finestra's Anniversary special offering. It is a pizza which has a mixture of various ingredients. Among its ingredients includes olive oil, butter, oregano, tomatoes, parsley, parma ham, mozarella, white dry wine, Parmesan and veal thin slices. I would say I did research the ingredients online to find out so ingredients may vary on their actual preparation.

Finestra's dining setting is really pure Italian inspired, from the kitchen, to the dining area and to the arrangement of things in the restaurant. It brings Italy closer to Filipinos.

The moment we entered Finestra, we were already very much overwhelmed with the grandiose of the place. It definitely screams Italian elegance with those beautiful chandeliers, plush seats and elegant table setting.
I notice that they have tables for big groups and small intimate ones. The wrap around patio and glass wall overlooking Manila Bay is perfect for that romantic dinner with your love ones. Class and elegance at it’s finest.
They also have an open bar with wines and liquors on display. We we’re not able to try those of course but I guess it’s worth mentioning.
We we’re introduced to Finestra’s chef and saw the open kitchen. The chef has been kind enough to tell us all about their anniversary dish and a little bit about Finestra, which means “windows” in English by the way.
We tried Saltimbocca Alla Sorrentina – Finestra’s anniversary dish. It’s braised veal with speck ham and buffalo mozzarella plus cherry tomatoes.
I was already salivating just looking at the dish. And when I tasted it, OMG! It was delicious. The meat is soft and juicy. The cheese added so much flavor to the already flavorful meat. And the tomatoes added a little sweetness and a bit of tangy flavor. It was divine.

One might wonder why Italian food thrives in the Philippines when most of our cuisine’s influences resulted from years of colonization or inter-country trades, neither of which the Italians were ever involved. However, there’s one possible answer: Filipinos and Italians are both innately family-oriented. Cooking and eating are always a family affair, and the servings are, more often than not, geared to accommodating big families. And that was exactly what the Chef’s Table of Finestra Italian Restaurant in Solaire Resort and Casino aimed to do – to submerge an intimate group into a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.

Solaire Resort and Casino brings the authentic colors and flavors of Italy closer to home at Finestra Restaurant. Among the four world-class food establishments that are housed in Solaire, only Finestra has a breathtaking panoramic view of Manila Bay – the best place to enjoy a sumptuous meal while watching the sunset.

Aside from the big smiles and courteous greetings, the bar welcomes you like an old friend, egging you on to try their imported wines and special drinks that are not available anywhere else in Manila.

But the real center of attraction in Finestra is their show kitchen, where you can see your chefs hard at work in preparing exquisite Italian dishes.

The Chef
Heading the Finestra’s kitchen is Executive Chef Salvatore De Vincentis, who boasts of over 20 years of experience under his belt. He has previously worked in Dubai, the Bahamas, and most recently at EDSA Shangri-La Manila.

Executive Chef Salvatore De Vincentis of Finestra Italian Restaurant in Solaire Resort and Casino

His hard work has been recognized countless of times, but one of his most notable achievement was being awarded as the Best Executive Chef for Italian Cuisine at the WOFEX Worldwide Competition Awards. :)

We consider ourselves lucky for being invited to experience the ultimate VIP treatment at the Chef’s Table of Finestra. When we arrived, we were ushered towards a lone table in front of the show kitchen. It’s the best seat in the house, where we can watch the chefs prepare the food before our very eyes. Chef Salvatore himself attended to us with fervor, and he was ready to answer all our questions from the ingredients they use (they import some directly from Italy) down to personal queries we choose not to divulge. :P

A group of a maximum of 6 people have two menu options. They could choose between having a six-course and a nine-course meal. We initially decided to go for the nine-course meal, but as soon as the first plate landed on our tables and we saw how big the serving was, we’re quite glad they took our suggestion on narrowing it down to just seven courses.

If you want an extraordinary culinary experience that is both educational and entertaining, the Chef’s Table at Finestra is your best choice. The executive chef will personally prepare a customized menu for you and your group, taking into consideration your food preferences and food allergies, so you will enjoy only the food that you love. :)

When we finally got comfortable in our seats, our server placed a big basket of assorted complimentary bread and a trio of dips composed of extra virgin olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar, and parmesan cheese for dips.

We particularly enjoyed the cheese bread for its crunchy exterior but soft and chewy interior. Mix all three dips together, slather some on your bread, and you get a starter that will surely wake up the senses.

Our first course was an interesting plate of Prosciutto-wrapped melon with homemade bread sticks and imported Burrata cheese topped with micro arugula, then drizzled with basil oil and melon mousse. The partnering of prosciutto and melon is a textbook flavor combination that always works.

Prosciutto-wrapped melon with homemade bread sticks and imported Burrata cheese topped with micro arugula

The Burrata cheese did nothing but complement the dish with its chewy, mozzarella-like coating, and an irresistibly creamy and soft filling. The basil oil was a subtle touch, yet became the glue that made all the components work together.

My heart skipped a bit when I saw Chef Salvatore preparing our second course – the lobster and shrimp soup with wine infusion and homemade crostini. The soup base had a mellow tartness from the wine and tomatoes that was countered by a mix of sweet and salty from the crostini and the seafood.

The prawn and lobster were locally sourced, and we think the dish was keenly executed. And it actually feels good that they’re patronizing local products, since the Philippines do have high-quality seafood that can compete with those that are imported from other countries.

We finally saw something familiar… onto our third course – pizza! But it’s not just any kind of pizza. This one’s a truffle pizzetta with prosciutto, porcini mushrooms, and imported buffalo cheese, then drizzled lightly with truffle oil and extra virgin olive oil.

It is important to note that they use REAL truffles, which, you know, don’t come cheap! Also, the pizza was served Napoli-style, so it reached our table whole and not pre-cut. We were encouraged to eat our pizza using our hands, to which we openly obliged. ;)

Chef also wanted to show us how they usually serve their pizza to the guests – family style – so he prepared a Margherita pizza, which is, FYI, my favorite!! We were aware that more dishes are coming, but that didn’t stop me from grabbing a slice. :P

Wine Pairing #1
Their sommelier, Geordie, came over our table holding a fine bottle of fine Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene right before we proceeded to the next course. It’s the best wine pairing he can suggest to go with our pasta course, even reminding us to take note of how the pasta will taste before and after sipping some wine.

After the pizza, we were presented a trio of Raviolone with diver scallops, saffron cream, and salmon caviar; Calamarata with red Sicilian pesto, clams, and mussels; and Risotto with homemade sausage and Barolo wine reduction. The sauce of the raviolone was addictively creamy that countered the subtle saltiness of the scallop and salmon caviar. We really, really love pesto, so the calamarata received an automatic thumbs up from us.

The risotto, on the other hand, had a notable tanginess that truly complemented the homemade sausage. The Prosecco paired well with the raviolone for it brought balance to the pasta’s creaminess, and it also added a hint of bitterness that gave the dish more depth.

After four courses of varying flavors and textures, it’s the right time for a palate cleanser. We couldn’t think of anything else that could do the job better than this Limoncello Sorbet.

Chef Salvatore showed us the bottle of Limoncello liqueur that they used to make the sorbet. Don’t be fooled by its seemingly sweet packaging. This bad boy packs a punch if drank alone, but pour onto the sorbet and you get a palate cleanser that’s hard to resist.

The servings of our second to the last course were big enough to make two separate dishes, but they transformed it into one to make a surf and turf dish that juggles between the flavors of the land and the abundance of the sea.

The Agnello is grilled lamb chops with truffle gnocchi in cream sauce. We loved that the lamb chop was not gamey at all. Its meat was tender and full of flavor. We also enjoyed the rice cake texture of the gnocchi that created a good contrast with the meat.

It’s textbook knowledge that most meats, especially gamey ones, pair well with red wine. So to partner our lamb chops, their sommelier suggested we try it with a glass of Braccale Jacopo Biondi Santi, another imported Italian wine that you can only get at Finestra.

Next is the Branzino, which is roasted Chilean sea bass and prawn with Datterini cherry tomatoes and Sorrento olive oil infusion. The fish was cooked to perfection with a melt-in-your-mouth feel, and the deep-fried onions were touch for texture.

As meat is to red wine, seafood goes tremendously well with white wine, and this imported bottle of Schiopetto is an excellent choice. A single sip of this wine delivers a mild cheesy flavor that heightened the flavor of the fish to a whole new level.

Finally, it’s time for my favorite part of a meal – dessert! Like I always say, “A restaurant is only as good as the last dish it serves.” This trio of desserts truly ended our meal on a nice note!

Trio of desserts - Nutella cake, Tiramisu, and Walnut Caramel Gelato

We’re quite surprised that some people still mistake Tiramisu as a Japanese dessert (the name does sound Japanese, eh?). This is authentic Italian any way you look at it with its flavor combination that coffee lovers will surely love.

One of the greatest contribution of Italy in the food industry is definitely the spread the world has come to love – Nutella! This small piece of cake gave the spread justice for it was layers upon layers of addictive goodness.

Thank goodness we ended our meal with this Walnut Caramel Gelato that resonated with heavenly flavors by marrying creaminess and texture. It was orgasmic. :D

Wine Pairing #4
After our seven-course meal, we were offered to try a shot of this Grappa Prosecco, a premium Italian drink that aims to help in digestion. With all the food that we’ve eaten, it was more than proper to have some of this digestive. A single shot of this is all that you need, since I honestly had a hard time finishing mine. :D

We’ve never experienced Italian cuisine as authentic and well-executed like the array of food served to us at the Chef’s Table of Finestra. It’s the kind of cuisine that truly reflects Solaire’s love for flair and luxury.

Prices and Menu Options

Finestra offers fine Italian cuisine that will tingle your palette and make you think of going to this beautiful and majestic country full of colorful contrasts from the metro cities to the coastal villages of Italy.

The interior shouts Italian elegance that will make you transport to its aristocratic era - where kings and queens dine to their hearts content and savor good food.

The seating in Finestra will vary from a large family dine experience to lovers enjoying a night out.

And one thing I was really surprised is how large and open their kitchen is! Its really how an Italian kitchen is. I remember my Italian friend's kitchen way back in high school when I went to their house and helped her make an Italian feast for her family.

The three words I can explain Finestra is Fine, Elegant, and Exquisite - that is how you will feel dining here.

Finestra's Anniversary offering is the Saltimbocca Alla Sorrentina.

It is braised veal, speck ham, buffalo mozzarrella with San Marzano tomatoes. This is a dish that Executive Chef Salvatore de Vincentis served that will transport you to the vibrant city of Sorrento.

Initially, I thought how can a small piece of meat fill ones stomach? I was wrong. One bite of this is pure bliss. The veal was cooked to perfection that is topped with buffalo mozzarella that gives a little more kick of flavor into it.

It has a burst of flavor that you would actually want to have more - I actually did, two to be exact. It was really good! This is only available this March so make sure to go to Finestra to try it for yourself.

This is a romantic italian dining experience brought to Manila. From the floor to ceiling windows that let the sunlight seep in to highlight their elegant chandeliers and tables and chairs, Finestra though is for those who have money to burn or if you want to experience italian fine dining like no other, you have to save before heading out to this place. Worth it though! more of my review at www.rolledin2onemom.com soon!

Solaire's flagship Italian outlet carries a signature lux environment but is not intimidating. High ceilings and luxurious chandeliers add a touch of class. The food, although a bit pricey, does not disappoint. Their seafood pasta and prosciutto pizza are cooked perfectly. The complimentary bread basket have soft rolls and bread that are perfect because it is served warm. The drinks were inclined with their menu. This place is highly recommended for initimate dates and family gatherings. Kudos Finestra.

FINESTRA is the authentic Italian restaurant of Solaire Resort. One of four signature restaurants there, it boasts beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that look out into the Manila Bay and the Solaire pool. Finestra is well-named, given that it means ‘windows’ in Italian.

The chefs at Finestra bring the colors and flavors of Italy to Solaire Resort and Casino. Authentic handmade pastas, designer pizzas, artesian olive oils and homemade gelato and sherbet all delight with their rich flavors and finest quality ingredients. Drop in for dinner at Solaire’s signature Italian restaurant, and dine on the best Italian dishes coupled with the most romantic panoramic view of the Manila Bay. Top it all off with a sip from our extensive selection of premium grappas and Italian digestives. With a private room and a wraparound patio, this is fine Italian dining like Manila, Philippines has never indulged in before.

It’s hard not to be impressed by the sophisticated ambiance — artworks from the finest local artists, high quality tables and chairs, exquisite ceiling, and attention to every detail of the dining experience.

Executive Chef Salvatore de Vincentis, the Italian chef formerly from Paparazzi in EDSA Shangri-La, said that the secret to FINESTRA is that most of the ingredients are indeed imported from Italy.

I always thought that Gelato and Ice Cream were the same thing, and although they tasted different I never really thought there was a specific difference- even pasta and pizza taste different in the US! In my mind, the difference is mostly in texture- gelato melts faster and it is softer than ice cream. However, I learned the difference is deeper and it has to do with churning methods, fat content and serving temperature.

I love Gelato more than Ice Cream because the texture is better and you can really appreciate the flavor because it has less mlik too. In Finestra I was able to taste two desserts:

Chocolate Nutella Gelato
Vanilla with Mascarpone Gelato
Strawberry Gelato
Panna Cotta

This is the Finest Taste of Italy that you can ever have in the metro! After dining in Finestra, you won’t settle for anything less but the best Italian flavors.

We dine at Finestra on my birthday. Our first choice was Strip but we changed our mind and opted for Finestra. Upon entering, you'll feel the cozy, laid-back, and very romantic ambiance. There is an open area where you can see the chefs while preparing food but this does not hinder the place from being serene and romantic. The setup and distance of the tables can give the diners privacy if they wanted one. The place is quite big and is a perfect place if you want an intimate date with your special someone.

For the food, we tried Pizza Diavola, Carbonara, Brick oven Salmon, and Hazelnut Cake. We are happy with all of our food choices especially the Pizza Diavola. It's a bit large for its price and very delish too! I also love the Hazelnut cake since I am inlove in every food with hazelnut on it.

With the quality of food and the perfect ambiance that Finestra is offering, we will definitely go back.

Finestra has one of the best sunset views of the bay. The kitchen opens by 6pm but I got a table by 530pm and ordered a bottle of crisp white wine, Toscana Bianco (P1,400) just in time to watch the sunset.

Their bread basket had an interesting array of breads served with extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar reduction and diced parmegiano. I tried their tartufo salad. It's truffle season considering it's fall season in Italy. And also their Grilled Lobster Salad (P1100).

Next was the Veal Milanese (P1,400) with chopped tomatoes, arugula and parmesan and Truffle ravioli. The veal was cooked just right. It was simply perfect as if you just ordered it from an osteria in Milano. The ravioli pasta on the other hand was too thick and the stuffing was a bit too dry. But I did enjoy and soaked up the truffle sauce with more bread.

We ended the evening with a bottle of Moscato d'Asti (P2,500). Ciao!!

Pricey but offers world class food so I think it's worth the price. Great place. You can see the pool beside the restaurant as well as the wonderful Manila Bay.

Finestra makes for a fine splurge on Italian food on this side of the city, which is why I award Finestra extra points. It is a huge restaurant with many interesting pockets of activity. You can have drinks and cigars at their bar, while admiring their refrigerated, floor-to-ceiling wine collection of mostly Italian vintage. Or you can sit closer to their open kitchen, where their chefs prep, cook, and plate for everyone to see. Or sit at their cubicles – round tables, or on the perimeters, where yo will have a pretty view in the evening.

Their cheese and cold cuts antipasti platter is fantastic and a must order. Three kinds of cheese, young Parma ham, salami, and this all goes very well with their home made bread. I then had a rich mushroom soup laced with truffle oil, which was completely self-indulgent. My friend had a seafood and wine-infused rigatoni, with meaty mussels and the scent of clams, while I had a mascarpone cream and sausage pasta. It tasted exactly as I wanted it, but I rue the way they sliced the sausage. Either you cook it till toasted, or crumble it, or slice it a bit more thickly, or it just looks like a commercially made sausage.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment was their ossobuco. It was ordinary and not worth what we paid for it. There were a number of things wrong with it – from the quality of the meat, the ordinary flavour base, and lack of finesse in presentation. It is NOT a difficult dish to make!

As with most Italian food experiences, start strong with appetizers and pasta, and it’s hard to go wrong. Finestra delivers a fine experience ambience-wise, but their mains are their weakest point. At their prices, that definitely needs to be addressed.

But would I go back? Sure!

The branzino filet is a must-try, best sea bass i've ever tasted. This italian restaurant in Solaire gives an elegant ambiance, fine dishes & excellent service. For dining with special someone, with guests or with occasion, this would be a good choice.

Craving for some chocolatey goodness treat that melts in your mouth? Then dine in Finestra! But first have a taste of their scrumptious dishes that will surely take your appetite to the next level. I am really not a huge chocolate fan but this dessert really changed my mind. Took a slice and then the melted chocolate oozed out from it! It was such a satisfying dessert that I wasn't able to finish everything! But it was oh so good I tell you. Worth every cent!

I expected the food to be delicious given the price range (700-1,500 pesos per dish). Pasta and pizza were good for sharing. Must try is the pasta carbonara and pizza with truffles. Yummy!! Also I was willing to pay a premium for the Manila Bay view.

Great place! The whole place is really impressive. If you're planning dinner with someone really special then this is the place. Great food! The cheese selection, the osso buco, the wine offerings are all delightful. Great price too! Well, quality usually comes with a price. Be sure to have a reliable credit card ready after enjoying Finestra. Eat, eat, eat!

FINESTRA is the authentic Italian restaurant of Solaire Resort. One of four signature restaurants there, it boasts beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that look out into the Manila Bay and the Solaire pool. Finestra is well-named, given that it means 'windows' in Italian.

We just came from a recent food trip of the Veneto region in Italy, so I was happy to discover that the quality of cheeses, antipasto spread, handmade pasta and wood fire oven-cooked pizza is the same quality you would get in Italy. We were pleased to hear that most of the ingredients are directly imported from Italy and that the Executive Chef is Italian.

So far, this is the closest you can get to the romantic flavors of Italy in Manila.

It's hard not to be impressed by the sophisticated ambiance -- artworks from the finest local artists, high quality tables and chairs, exquisite ceiling, and attention to every detail of the dining experience.

I love the high ceiling, beautiful acoustics, and the feeling of privacy in every table. The resto has one private room if you really need to have a closed door.

During dinner time, there is a bar lounge section where you can hang out for cocktails, starting at 6pm

It's great that they have an open kitchen, which is like a live theatrical performance of the culinary team in bringing each dish to life as you order.

ANTIPASTO
The ideal time to go is during lunch time where you can enjoy one of the best Antipasto buffets I've seen here in Manila. I love those blood-red cherry tomatoes and the vegetables in olive oil.
Executive Chef Salvatore de Vincentis, the Italian chef formerly from Paparazzi in EDSA Shangri-La, said that the secret to FINESTRA is that most of the ingredients are indeed imported from Italy.
In Italy, the soft, white Buffalo Mozzarela cheese was one of my favorite starters. I usually paired it with thinly sliced prosciutto and juicy tomatoes. Sarap!
We tasted the Italian cheese and cold cuts from Lucania with artisan jams and home-baked bread (for 2 persons).
If you dine at night, you can order a plate of the Antipasto sampler.
Gas or No Gas? Natural or Sparkling Water?
Yes, these are the same brands of water they serve you in Italy. They say Europeans are addicted to sparkling water, but I still can't appreciate having bubbles in my water.

MAIN COURSE #1: Pizza or Pasta
Margherita Bufalina with tomato, buffalo mozzarella from Salerno, and basil - This pizza was very good, with its just-right chewy thin crust and yummy buffalo mozzarella cheese.

Porcini Mushroom Risotto with late season harvest porcini mushrooms and parmigiano - We loved the al dente risotto, the flavors of the mushrooms, and the hint of truffle.

Lasagna "Classica Al Forno" with prime beef, creamy sauce, tomatoes and Stracchino cheese and Spaghetti Chittra "Guitar String Spaghetti" with peperoncino, tuna and sundried tomatoes.
Classic Italian yumminess: Handmade pasta combined with the finest ingredients and flavorful sauce!

MAIN COURSE #2: Main Entrees
Veal cutlet "Milanese" with cauliflower, chopped tomatoes and arugula.
This was as yummy and as big as the ones we ate in Milan. Although, it would be better if the vegetables were served on the side instead of on top.

Sardinian lamb chops "Pizzaiola" with potatoes and roasted eggplants.
This was highly recommended and the tastiest among all the entrees we tasted. I loved how the soft lamb meat was cooked just right.

Roasted Branzino, prawns with Vesuvius tomatoes and candied lemon.
This dish had a big chunk of European Sea Bass in the unique-tasting sauce.

Veal Ossobuco in Gremolata, bone marrow and Tuscan pappardelle.
This is best eaten by combining a slice of the veal, a portion of the pasta, and the tomato sauce mixed with the fatty bone marrow.

I enjoyed my Finestra dinner with these guys who couldn't stop raving about the food!
Italian meals are usually served individually over 4 courses, but since we're in Manila, we didn't mind sharing the big portions of the entrees to get a little piece of everything. :)

DESSERT!
Hazelnut Gelato. (Daily selection of homemade gelatos and sorbets per scoop)
This is the best dessert in Finestra! It's like enjoying Grom-quality gelato here in Manila. Order the Hazelnut flavor. :)

Panna Cotta with caramelized orange.
Served in a big glass with a thick layer of orange, the panna cotta was good. However, it was overshadowed by the other desserts we ordered.

Tiramisu Solaire.
The classic Italian tiramisu was presented with Solaire flair.

Calzone Nutella.
The dough of the calzone was too heavy and it just had little Nutella inside. This is not a good idea for dessert. :(

24 Karat Chocolate Fondant.
Yes, this is best way to eat chocolate -- with real 24-karat gold! :) Although the gold does not really taste like anything, at least you can say you ate real gold. After the initial excitement of eating something so precious, the oozing chocolate in the middle will surely satisfy any chocoholic craving you have. :)

Overall, we loved the authentic flavors and the ingredients of the food, the sophisticated modern high-ceiling ambiance, and the Italian chef who makes sure each dish is crafted to Italian perfection. Order the appropriate wine to pair with your food, and limoncello as a digestive to complete the authentic Italian dining experience in Manila.

This is the Finest Taste of Italy that you can ever have in the metro! After dining in Finestra, you won't settle for anything less but the best Italian flavors.

Indeed, Finestra is a game changer in the Italian cuisine landscape in Manila. :)
