Ever since I found out about Magnum Opus, it has been my temporary work place in BF. The ambiance is so chill and they have a good taste in music. The place is small though and I wish they have a better and cleaner restroom.
However, their coffee is so good! I personally love their belgian heartbreak and chilled heartbreak. It’s their version of hot and iced cafe mocha! Their monte cristo grilled cheese sandwich is so goood too!
Do you know that the owners of Magnum Opus are the same owners of EACH in Molito? 😉
Best drink for me: Belgian Heartbreaker
The cafe is small but I like the vibe of it. I usually study out in cafes but this place isn’t conducive for that. I think it’s more for hanging out and having a quick chit chat with someone.
It’s a good place to study and work since they have a good wifi and it’s pretty quiet and not too crowded compared to other coffee shops in BF. Their food servings are quite generous but fair for the price. Tried few cold drinks from their menu and they’re all great!
My boyfriend and I are looking for a restaurant that serves monte cristo so we came across this.
We had a difficulty finding the restaurant because it was situated in the 2nd floor of a small building.
It was a humble restaurant I must say. No fancy decorations, just simple tables and chairs where you can drink your coffee.
We asked for their best sellers for their coffee and they told us it actually depends on your taste.
Chilled heartbreak- This is the only heartbreak I wanted in my life. If you are experiencing some "romantic heartbreak" this can mend it 🤣. I loved this cold drink! Literally made me want to finish it on one go. Of course I can't do it cause me and my boyfriend shared the drink.
Cold brew-This drink actually surprised me. It was a smooth drink. Never tasted black coffee so smooth as this. It was like I was looking for an after taste but there was none. It was clean on the palate so you can go straight and finish it.
Monte cristo- We actually had monte cristo at starbucks and we liked it so we searched for other resto that serves it. We tried the melt grilled cheesery but it did not quite reach our expectations. Serving is quite big for the monte cristo served at magnum opus. I like the berry jam that goes with it. I guess this is a legit version of the monte cristo compared with the one we had at starbucks. If it is monte cristo then this is the taste you should be looking for.
Verdict: A place to go to when you want to drink not just good coffee but great coffee. You think you had the best coffee but not until you try Magnum Opus.
Perhaps the best cafe inside BF homes. Coffee is legit, the space is really cozy, there's wifi and most importantly there's free parking 😂 keep coming back. Even the tunes and the people are amazing.
Regular drink is flat white. Try their single origin as well (it varies). For desserts, the cheesecake is good. It has a balsamic glaze.
A good place to hang out with family and friends. One oftue coffee shops where you can do office or school work. They serve quality drinks for a reasonable price. They also have pastries.
Will definitely come back for more iced nitro cold brew and new york cheesecake. If you’re a coffee lover, you should try this cool place!!! 🙌🏻 #cheKKit
I usually spend my sunday morning cafe hopping. This time, I decided to visit two coffee shops located in BF Homes in Parañaque. After visiting Need Coffee, I ran some errands before heading to Magnum Opus Fine Coffees.
PLACE- 4 OUT OF 5 STARS
I had a hard time finding the place, the map can't pin point the exact location so I needed to ask some bystanders where I can find the café. It was located on the second floor of the building. The place is a bit small but well lit and ventilated.
SERVICE - 4 out of 5 STARS.
The ordering experience was straightforward. You get a seat then proceed to the counter to order. After ordering go back to your seat and wait for your feed to arrive.
FOOD - 5 out of 5 stars
Cappuccino
Cheese sandwich
I ordered my go-to drink whenever I don't know what to order. I ordered cappuccino, the barista asked me if I wanted it one shot and I forgot the other one, I ordered one shot. it was good but I still like need coffee's cappuccino more. The cheese sandwich was delicious.
INSTAGRAMMABLE - 4 out of 5 stars
The place is instagrammable and well lit but it is a bit small. I had a hard time taking photos because It was a bit crowded.
SERVING TIME - 4 out of 5 stars
I waited 5 minutes for my coffee to be served and additional 5 minutes for my sandwich.
Favorite coffee place in BF homes! I love their big breakfast and their belgian heartbreak- may it be cold or hot. Such a cozy coffeeshop with cool staff.
This place is for people who are serious about their coffee. Good respite from popular coffee franchises. This place sits at the second floor but their beans will make it worth your while.
Magnum is the perfect place for breakfast while working. Their WiFi is great. Food is greater. Coffee is greatest! If I could be here every day, I would be 😁
I always order the same thing every time I drop by (which is probably once or twice a week, since the place is just a tricycle ride away from home) - the Mac and Cheese, with a thick slice of bacon! The cheese they use for the dish must be a mix of 4 different kinds, I can't discern each one. Comfort food at its best for me. The parmesan crisp on the side is also perfection.
Occasionally, I would order either a Flat White (if I want something hot) or an Ice Cold Brew (if I want something cold.) I sometimes have to ask for the Flat White to be served just a tad bit warmer, because it was already a little cooled down the first time I ordered one. As for the Ice Cold Brew, I'm glad their version doesn't make me palpitate. The coffee is strong enough for me to enjoy the flavor and keep me perked up!
I have a great time every time I drop by - whether it's to work, enjoy a book, or simply just escape home.
Next on my list are the Risoni and the Spro Tonic, because I notice people ordering these so often.
Magnum Opus might just be the first-placer in my list of favourite cafés down South. There’s something about the blend of their coffee that I find wholly pure and perfectly brewed down to the last sip.
The chill ambience plus their leafy wallpaper makes photos instantly Instagrammable. If that still hasn’t gotten you convinced, they play good music that is up to par! You can check their playlist on Spotify.
As for the food, I’ve tasted their Monte Cristo and Mac & Four Cheese. On a rating from 1 to 10, I’d give it a 12. No further words needed.
Drinks: I usually get the Chilled Latte or Chilled Heartbreak. The Chilled Latte has just the right flavor for me - not too strong but not sweet either. It's my go to drink. The Chilled Heartbreak is their version of a chilled Mocha Latte. The chocolate they use is rich but not rich enough to overpower the coffee's taste. 5/5
Food: I've been here a couple of times to get breakfast and so far all the dishes I've tasted were good. Their Classic Grilled Cheese is one of my favorites from their food menu. It's served with a Marinara dipping sauce which I love. All dishes are also within a reasonable price range. Hope they expand their food menu soon. 4/5
Ambience: If you need a place to chill after school or after work, Magnum Opus is a good choice because of it's laid-back vibe. Also perfect for foodies who like taking food photos because their space is very open, filled with natural light and their interiors make good backdrops as well. 5/5
Service: Staff members are always friendly and ready to assist you with whatever you need. 5/5
I’d seen this before but never really tried it until a friend recommended it over bonding. It looked nice interior-wise, having a hipster-minimalist vibe that’s common to my generation: predominantly wooden furniture, slim hanging lights, simple tables, chairs, and vibrant-colored walls.
I was most skeptical about the food, ordering a Big Breakfast P320 and a decaf Chilled Heartbreak (175). Oh man, the Big Breakfast had generous portions of scrambled egg, bread, banger sausages, and a slice of bacon. This came with blueberry jam that was perfect!
The Chilled Heartbreak was pretty good considering I am not a coffee drinker.
The only room for improvement here is the cleanliness. We seated al fresco after a mild rain shower and the staff had to called before they wiped down the table we sat in. They didn’t even dry the other chairs nearby. Their bathroom needs better cleaning too. The stench of urine was akin to a severe uppercut to my nostrils upon entrance.
Service was prompt, polite, and praiseworthy. Hopefully they improve in cleanliness. Otherwise, Magnum Opus is a pretty good coffee place to chill in. Am going to try their viands next time around. Based on my experience it’s kinda pricey, but worth it. 👍🏽
Tried this popular coffee place in BF last week and had a good time. What I must say, it has an extremely millennial feel lol The offerings are simple and straight to the point, I got the chilled latte and my friend got the flat white. I really liked my chilled coffee it tasted like a light coffee smoothie. My friend liked the flat white but wanted it to be hotter in temperature. Overall cool place to hang out
5 stars for the Wafflegato. 3 stars for the lack of seating areas inside. Let’s get to the coffee, first. I forgot what my dad ordered but he loved his coffee (he is a hard man to please). My brother and I ordered the Wafflegato—an affogato with a crispy waffle. AND IT WAS SO GOOD (all caps to emphasize how delightful it was). Comparable to the affogato we had at Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café in Sydney (Circular Quay branch). Magnum Opus’ concoction is stronger—just the way it should be. But it isn’t so strong that the bitterness is overwhelming. It was the perfect mix.
As for the seating area, I wish they could expand! Those with laptops took up one entire table with all the stools! There is seating outside but when it’s scorching hot or raining hard, I’d like to enjoy my coffee indoors.
Been wanting to try magnum opus for the longest time! And we’re glad that they’ve finally reopened. We love their coffee although we find it a bit expensive for just coffee. Nonetheless we get what the hype is about!
i super love the ambiance ❤ indoor's not too spacious though. the coffee's really good ☕ and the new york cheesecake too (by far the best i've had 😋)
Magnum Opus ended my search for a solid Piccolo latte, and I owe this much to Jonathan (Barista/owner) who didn’t even bat an eyelid when I asked if they serve such. It turned out that Piccolo was on their original menu, but because it was something that not a lot of people order, it had to be removed.
My friends ordered the famous Belgian Heartbreak which they so loved 😄. My friends were talking about Ristretto and demitasse but I couldn’t string a seemingly smart knowledge about coffee even if we produce it outback because we only knew of brewed and nothing else lol!
The place is good albeit small, but I hope coffee drinkers will go to this place to fortify themselves with a good cuppa that’s not drowned in milk, well crafted caffeinated drinks, Where you can still taste what real coffee is, and not because of the space.
We didn’t get to sample anything else since we just came from a late heave lunch in the neighborhood. We’ll be back and hopefully get to try some of their fave products:)
After having our late lunch at Mandarin Palace to celebrate a friend's birthday, we decided to try this place. We heard so much raving from our millennial "adopted daughter" to try their Belgian Heartbreaker. Upon reaching the place, parking was not a problem, however, you need to climb few steps since its located at the 2nd floor. Place is small but not cramped. There's also an "al fresco" area for smokers.
We all ordered the Belgian Heartbreaker and nothing else. Boy, it was gooood! You can actually taste the fusion of the coffee and the Belgian chocolate. It was not too sweet, perfect for diabetics like me. The downside? I wasn't able to sleep that night. Even my friends who were with me had a hard time sleeping, we were texting each other at 2am in the morning, lol.
So, to all those call center agents working the graveyard shift, this is your COFFEE :)
Went back to try their Monte Cristo sandwich and this time, got myself a decaf latte 😁 I like the way they add cranberry sauce and whip cream, making it the real monte cristo. It also breaks the monotony of the taste.
Again, was impressed with the food and service.

We went to Magnum Opus on a late night. We were craving for good quality coffee and this place didn't disappoint us. The place was just a little cramped and seats were not that comfortable. Service was really good. Staff were really nice and entertained us with our questions regarding their best sellers. We ordered the famous Belgian Heartbreaker and their NY Cheesecake. Probably one of the best Coffee and Cheesecake we've ever tried. We will definitely go back to this place for our caffeine fix!
On a cold and rainy day I crave the Hot Belgian drink from Magnum Opus. I pair it up with Caprese, Classic or Insane Monte Cristo just because you can never go wrong with grilled cheese. After that I sit and watch the rain drops fall to the ground as I inhale the addictive smell of coffee.
Only thing I don't like is their place is small and can only occupy a few people at a time. Wish they moved to a bigger space
A whovian's dream place! The coffee served here is amazing. Being a coffee lover and a whovian, this place is heaven for me. Try the Belgian Heartbreak, I assure you, your heart won't break not even one bit. :)
A good foodtrip should always end with coffee and this is the best place to chill after eating a lot in BF! I love how they make their coffee (third wave) and I'm always thrilled whenever there's latte art in my coffee! You know a legit coffee when you taste it and this is one of them.
My college friends and I have been planning to visit Aguirre for the longest time but it always get cancelled, moved or totally changed to another location. But it finally happened! Today is an Aguirre food trip. Our first stop was Bread and Botany but it didn't leave much of an impression. And honestly, I was disappointed. The only good thing I got from it was that it is beside Magnum Opus, a well-loved coffee shop along the popular food street.
On my very first trip to Aguirre, I wanted to try the top rated places. After having lunch in Sensei Sushi, Magnum Opus is the coffee place to go. So off we went after lunch to find Prime Building. Located at a stoplight intersection of Aguirre and Elizalde, there is sufficient parking for maybe 10 cars, a luxury in Aguirre. It's located at the 2nd floor, and inside is a quaintly decorated store, with books, and other decorative items. It's seen better days, as I understand that this has been here a number of years. Different wooden furniture adorn Magnum Opus, and also a coffee bar set up in front of the baristas.
This fits with the 3rd wave coffee concept, hence the best selling drink, Belgian Heartbreaker, comes highly recommended from many reviews I've read and from my friends who have been here. I ordered this for my post lunch drink. Described as their own take on a classic mocha--- 60°C milk blended with a 60% Belgian chocolate ganache, poured over Espresso in a 9oz glass. I certainly tasted the Belgian chocolate! I'm not a mocha expert but I liked what I tasted. And it was easy to drink since it wasn't uber hot. The richness of the Belgian chocolate blended well with the milk and Espresso. I'm sure it's a big hit with mocha lovers. Gladly, it wasn't overly sweet as well. At P175, this doesn't come cheap. But I was satisfied. 4/5
For dessert, we picked their Bread and Butter Pudding - heated well, a bit crunchy pecan and walnut crust on the top and not your usual super moist pudding (though this one is not dry at all which is good), and served with vanilla ala mode and topped with brandy sauce... It's a drier take on pudding, but no less satisfying. 4/5
They still have lemon custard, NY cheesecake and Wafflegato among dessert choices, perhaps for other people to consider. I've read that the Wafflegato is good, though I'd prefer the pudding or the custard first, but it's a personal preference at this point.
I noticed their cool tip jar, aka vacation trip for baristas, plus the Flirt Jar beside it, filled with what looked like US $. Funny. According to the barista, fill put something in there to flirt with them. Uh huh. If you're interested maybe you might wanna try it next time. Lol.
So let me begin with a late trip to the foodie capital of the South-Aguirre St, at B.F. Homes Paranaque.
Bhogs and I left the kids furtively an hour after dinner to locate Magnum Opus Fine Coffee Gallery. Coffee for us is like brandy, and instead of sneaking out to bars, we try and look for a cozy, away from the crowd non-commercialized coffeehouses.
For me, conversations are more appealing when there is coffee involved. Depressing stories turn out to be positive somehow. I'm not sure if the aroma of the coffee does the thing, but what I'm sure of, is the seeming comfort of drinking a good cup of hot coffee, fresh from the grind, just clouds away the troubles.
And finding Magnum Opus Fine Coffee Gallery just elevated our inkling to distinctive coffee even more.
The name suggests greatness, don't you think? It actually is Latin for "great work." I actually first saw it in Paulo Coelho's novel, The Alchemist. Just as Paulo Coelho described it in novel, each one of us has a great work to accomplish in this lifetime. That is why it did give a ring to my ear and just made me want to see what they are offering.
So, let me just go on with what we had that evening.
My long overdue dessert, Belgian Heartbreaker. The crowd-pleaser of Magnum Opus did apparently won me over. A sweetheart in it's own right is a glass of smooth combined elements that is sweet, pleasantly-bitterish, tad milky and chocolatey. First sip and I was instantaneously brought to drinkers paradiso. It's Jonathan's version of cafe mocha only way better with Belgian chocolate mixed in it. The consistency is like that of my lola's good ol' "tsokolate" from pure cacao beans. But what made this more of a coffee concoction than a caffeine-spiked hot chocolate, is the double ristretto pulled into it.
"Duh! Ristretto?"
Ristretto is a shot of espresso, wherein the coffee beans are ground finer than usual but quicker. With less water involved in the pull, the resultant shot is bolder, fuller, with more body and less bitterness.
Just look at this cup of cheerfulness. This is my buddy's Cappuccino. With the ratio of 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 foamed milk, and an ample part of coffee-making passion.
Also, I had to tell you how the barista slash owner of the joint explained to us some nitty-gritty of the preparation. Jonathan speaks boldly of the Single Origin Ethiopian Sidamo, with its fruity complexity, and aroma that was just exhilarating.
That's what I call a whole latte love, get it?
Normally the shot of espresso is doubled (in Italy, like what my father would love having , they call it doppio) on their menu, but since it was late already I opted for them to lessen the shot. Surprisingly, the coffee (taste-segregating the milk) is delicate with hints of toffee or butterscotch candy. I had one sip of it from his cup, and I remembered biting a chocolate my aunt would bring us from Saudi Arabia, the taste resembled an orangy-chocolate hint on the side of a full-bodied premium coffee flavor. Maybe that would suggest the flavor of an Ethiopian coffee.
At first you would really get intimidated, as if you never chanced on pure coffee education. So coming here is like being on a laboratory and gallery (of different coffees from different corners of the world) at the same time.
The menu is very straight-forward, your choice of coffee and something scrumptious to pair it with. You can have a cookie or two, an open faced sandwich or the Monte Cristo. It's a French toast amped with Farmers Ham, Cheddar Barre, powdered sugar and topped with Cherry Jam. I love the cross taste of the mild ham and cheese with the tart and sweet jam. Something I never tried at home, which I will from now on.
Vibe is so relaxed, with the staff and the owner (himself) preparing your coffee, expect a good service.
Food-
I had a cup of their famous Belgian Heartbreak (175 php), and yes, it tasted exquisite. I liked the thickness of the drink, and the play of coffee and chocolate was excellent. It's just too pricey for a 9oz cup.
My friend ordered Latte (150php). Again, lovely taste yet pricey. Yes, the latte was delicious, but it was a boring cup. There was nothing special except for the thick texture.
We shared a slice of their cheesecake (160 php). I really don't like how it's so expensive and mediocre. For 160 php, you'd expect a wow reaction, but there was none. When I tried the cheesecake with the brittle and balsamic glaze, I did not have a particular reaction. If you want a mental taste of it here's a description: "Basic cheesecake, with gimmicky toppings."
Service- Barista was so-so. By so-so, I mean, not super friendly yet not very snobbish.
Ambience- The reason I'm giving this a 4.0 is because of the ambience. I was able to study here without any disturbances except for the breathtaking aroma of their Insane Monte Cristo sandwich (which I regrettably, did not order)!!! That is a compliment, I tell you.
*UPDATE:
I did come back and ordered the Hot Belgian and Chilled Heartbreak. Both were delicious. Staff was awkward. Will come back for the Monte Cristo, I promise.
*UPDATE 2:Finally ordered the Monte Cristo. Insanely great scent, pretty boring taste.
*UPDATE 3: I decided to rate this as 5.0 as this has been my go-to coffee shop every week. I am in love with their matcha drinks.
Must Try:
Heartbreaker 💔
Their cheesecake
Perfect for:
Studying/Reading
If you're looking for great coffee in some place homey & quiet, Magnum Opus is perfect! A couple of people go all the way to the south to try it out and it's definitely worth it.
What a time to be alive!
PS : If you are that Starbucks fan, this coffee shop is not for you.
Why? First, Magnum Opus serve the weirdest variants of coffee. (YUP) Second, Magnum Opus is not your typical coffee shop -- their drinks are all handcrafted with passion. And lastly, putting sugar on your coffee is a shame. :D
I tried the Dirty Chilled Latte. And I wasn't disappointed at all, actually, I fell in love with it that I want to have a second cup, but since I also love to sleep early, I didn't. Even if I am from North, I will definitely go back here to try more of their drinks.
Sometimes working in the afternoons need to be more productive in a coffee shop and Magnum Opus doesn't disappoint. What they lack in big comfortable loungers and huge communal tables, they have a homey-vibe and friendly staff. The coffee concoctions are all handcrafted and are top-notch. I forgot my laptop charger adapter (although they have ample amounts of two-prong outlets) and I asked the staff if they have an extra to lend, they said they didnt have but offered for me to work at the bar where they have a three-prong outlet behind the counter. Sweet! I ordered the Chilled Heartbreak, 60 degree-C milk concocted with 60-percent Belgian chocolate ganache in a 9-ounce espresso made thick and it was a foamy creamy cocoa-coffee goodness with the right blend of creaminess and coldness, with the right amount of bitterness and sweetness in my opinion the perfect way to jumpstart my work session. I was here on a weekday afternoon so the cafe was almost empty. For the next hour and a half I needed another caffeine boost so I ordered the Iced White..this time more bitter, cold coffee with milk and paired it with the new york style Cheesecake with cashew brittle and balsamic glaze. The balsamic glaze provided the perfect punch of tart to an otherwise an otherwise simple yet delicately sweet cheesecake. The brittle provided an interesting texture of crunchiness. Overall I got to work for a solid three hours. The staff was attentive yet unobstrusive and the atmosphere was just conducive for working. Weekends and evenings tend to be busier though as per the baristas. A definite must do when in BF Homes Aguirre strip for chilling with friends. Outdoor seating have good views over the busy BF Homes Aguirre strip. Parking available at the ground floor
A perfect place to have a cup of coffee on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
I just love there Belgian Heartbreak, will truly make your heartbreak recover (lol). Since we were a bit hungry we tried their Insane Monte Cristo that I really enjoyed, and Kimcheese.
The place was small but they also have dining area at the veranda, it's a perfect place to catch up with a friend.
It was a rare and strange thing to find myself in the BF Homes area one Saturday with two of my friends. After lunch, we looked for a spot to have afternoon coffee and catch up - so we ended up in Magnum Opus.
Design-wise, despite being located on the second floor of an unassuming looking building it has no blaring signs and whatnot. Only a simple sign mid-way up the building's staircase. The interiors are like that of your typical artisanal cafe's but what I liked was how the walls were mostly glass windows, therefore letting in a lot of light. They also offered an al fresco seating option for those who prefer fresh air or can withstand the humidity.
Service-wise, patrons are to order at the counter then pay later. Aside from our group of three, there were about two or three other customers who were in and out during our time there. The staff were efficient and our orders arrived within a reasonable time.
Food-wise, or rather coffee-wise, I ordered a Flat White (P150) which I found to be the standard in terms of taste but a rather small serving-size. My friends enjoyed their coffee as well, with one of us getting a cold coffee which was served in a pitcher.
The most noteworthy thing we got though was a Lemon Custard (P140) to share. It came with blueberry compote, chocolate ganache and sea salt, which made eating it quite interesting. The cake was the perfect mixture of sweet and tart - I would actually come back for this cake! It was that delicious.
Over-all, I am giving this establishment a 4.0 for my first experience. I may come back if I ever find myself in the area again, maybe not so much for their coffee but definitely for that particular dessert and maybe to try some of their dishes.
Magnum Opus has been in my "must visit" list for quite sometime now. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about the place and their coffee. After a hearty meal in Mama Lou's, there was no way I'm passing a good cup of coffee for a night cap. . Magnum Opus - BF Homes. Magnum Opus is not hard to find. Big signage that's well lit and it's standing tall and proud on the 2nd floor of Prime Bldg., along Aguirre Ave. in BF Homes. The place was small and tends to get cramped when full but it has an alfresco area just in case you prefer some breeze. When we got inside the store, the pleasant aroma of coffee greeted us. Their menu wasn't extensive but that wasn't a problem.
One of the first few coffee shops that started the 3rd wave of coffee revolution, the artisan cup. This is where I first learned what a panama geisha coffee bean is and why its so expensive. One doesnt just coffee in Mangum Opus, you experience coffee here. Coffee is so goos that I dont need to put sugar in it which is what an excellent espresso is supposed to taste like.
It's your first time and don't know what to order, take a leap of fate order anything and you won't regret it! There's a reason why they're being talked about. But this hype is real. You will every sip of it even the jitters afterwards. This is by far one of the best third wave coffee shops i've been to.
In search for a coffee and dessert place right after Sunday lunch, Zomato sent us to Magnum Opus. I loved their cold brew! It gave me my caffeine fix without the sweat that hot beverage bring on this very hot summer. Their cheesecake was equally satisfying - NY style. Everyone else enjoyed their desserts. We were happy to have discovered this hidden cafe and the artisan coffee experience it provides.
Small, quaint cafe located in the busy South. It's nice for chill catch up sessions, and if you need alone time. It's not for dates.
The menu is short, simple, but good. Kinda overpriced but worth the taste.
The interior is nice and the place can probably sit about 15 inside and a lot more outside.
I really had fun because the place was quiet and relaxing, made the time talking with my friend worthwhile! Spent almost 6 hours here without noticing at all, very quiet!
What I don't really love? Probably the chairs, it's hard (my bottom hurt a lot after sitting for a really long time HAHAHAHAHHA) its not really for those who opt for comfortable couches when in a café oh and, as I've mentioned price is quite on the high side.
Chilled Heartbreak was the perfect balance of coffee, milk, and chocolate
Take one sip and you might just end up finishing the whole glass
A bit pricey though so I might reserve it only for special occasions
Small yet suitable for a person who loves to do things over a cup of coffee. 😊👍🏽
Their cheesecake is one of the best I've tasted. Chilled latte gave me palpations still recommendable for coffee lovers.
If they could have been simplified how they make their drinks it'll be a much better but overall it was an awesome experience. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Literally a hipster café! You should definitely check them out. Good food, good drinks and good staff! A very cozy place too.
I ordered their Insane Monte Cristo and a Belgian Heartbreak, dang, they're all so good!
They're not your typical café that serves mediocre drinks. They serve literally coffee that would just make you moan! And their sandwiches are just satisfying.
Check out my blog for a detailed review! I have good pictures too! :)
A small cafe located at the rooftop that serves, fine, superb coffee on how you prefer it. Hot? Cold? On Ice? Coffee or non coffee based? And so on... They turned a simple cup of coffee into an art of sophostication, but you don't need to know all those things, just ask the barista how you want it. It's that simple in this world full of complexities.
The best flat white in the country. Their Belgian Heartbreak and cold brew are must-trys too! Hip place and the Tardis bathroom completes the experience.
After lunch cuppa! Since I'm not here often, took the chance to stop by here and taste the noble beverage being raved about in this establishment.
Got the Japanese Ice Drip (Brazilian beans I think?). As a fan of strong, bold coffee, this didn't leave much of an impression. This is the first time I've had cold drip coffee and try coffee of Brazilian origin so I couldn't really pin point why I didn't particularly loved this drink. But as I was consuming it, I really did enjoy and appreciate its flavor.
For sweets: I got the Azure of the Gold. I love the Belgium ganache so much I could just lick it off the plate. And after a while, PUNCH! Refreshing lemon in yo face y'all! It was a nice fun dish, for only a short while cause it was so small. 😂
I also go to try my friends' drinks: Chilled Heartbreak and a simple latte. Both loved them, especially the latte. Whatever beans they used and method of brewing, superb!
Miss this place! I super love their Coffee with ice cream! The owner is super nice! Don't hesitate to talk to him and he will explain about his passion-coffee.
9/10
Would definitely come back!

If you're looking for your typical Starbucks Frap, Magnum isn't for you. Their coffee, in my humble opinion, is for more sophisticated palates, and is quite exquisite! Magnum sits on the second floor with both indoor and outdoor seating--a quaint coffee shop suited for small groups.
I gave them a 3.5 because they have a very limited menu. Majority of their drinks have coffee, so bringing friends who prefer tea and non-caffeinated drinks here is a no-no (Hot Belgian and Tie Guan Yin tea are the only drinks without coffee, although tea is caffeinated). They have a small number of sandwiches, but nothing heavy and not much to choose from either.
Would definitely recommend Belgian Heartbreak and Wafflegato ❤️
Really loved the hot belgian! Tastes sooooo good! I even went there twice in a span of one day since I really love the drink.
Also liked the overall feel of the place, how responsive their listed number is (called twice to confirm if there is electricity and if they are still open at 10:30 pm. Both times, the call was answered promptly -- experienced restaurants wherein mobile numbers listed were unresponsive), definitely a plus.
Service was fast too even if there were a lot of customers inside :)
Rated them a 4/5 because of how dirty the bathroom is.
OH MY GOODNESS. I have found the coffee shop of my dreams.
I came to Magnum Opus hoping to study a bit. The place has this very warm and relaxed ambiance. The place allows natural sunlight to come in-- I came in the afternoon, and sat by a large window.
I ordered the Belgian Heartbreak. I don't know why it's called that way, because honestly (and I mean no-bola HONESTLY), it pulled me back together right when I was feeling like I was about to fall apart. The Belgian Heartbreak is sweet, with the right balance of coffee and chocolate. It wasn't exactly "cheap", but considering how well-made it was, and how much I enjoyed it, I'd pay Php175 for it over again.:)
I only have one not-so-wonderful thing to say- the "DON'T BLINK" writing on the bathroom mirror creeped me out a bit. Just a little bit.:)
Please enjoy this-- http://corinehonrado.tumblr.com/post/131148044088/created-with-vsco-magnum-opus-if-id-ever
The place was nice and the food also tastes great. Service was kind and fast
The pioneer and purveyor of specialty/third wave coffee in the south. Fantastic coffee, extremely friendly service, unpretentious environment from the start. The quality of coffee is consistently good and the people are very knowledgeable of their craft.
Magnum Opus is a great coffee shop where you can chill and hangout with your friends though the place is bit small. We tried the Insane Monte Cristo and the sandwich is INSANE! Will definitly go back! ☺️👍
Ive been here only once and i ordered a hot belgian and a NY cheesecake and its very good. The cheesecake tastes just like any other cheesecake but the hot belgian tastes amazing. The place is small but is nice.
On a fine, summer day, the best thing to do with friends would be a well deserved sugar trip to Magnum Opus Fine Coffees in BF Homes Paranaque. Try out their Monte Cristo French toast which is filled with smoked ham and cheese drizzled with homemade cherry jam. On their coffee menu, the Chilled Latte is something to look forward to, which Magnum proudly says is shaken and not iced.
My favorite coffee here is their Belgian Heartbreaker! It really amazed me a lot, the taste has its own identity. For me, this is one of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. Magnum Opus Fine Coffee was just too great!
Love the chilled heartbreak and also the place. Too bad though it's so far from QC but if it was near, I'd probably hang out here all the time!
Finally! I'd been wanting to go here and it was as nice as I expected it to be. The seats inside were limited and the space was small (bad for claustrophobic people like me), but the good thing is that they have seats outside (hot in the afternoon, though).
Must try their Belgian Heartbreak. I had mine chilled and it was so good! Even my friend who doesn't like coffee enjoyed it.
If you're a commuter, just tell the tricycle driver to drop you off at The Prime building and he'll know how to get there! I'm definitely coming back.
Coffee is exceptionally good. The Monte Cristo sandwich is the bomb. I wouldn't think the jelly would taste well but it did.
What I didn't like was the slow service. Place is too crowded sometimes too.
I do adore this artisinal coffee shop since you get to customize your cup of joe. I ordered the chilled heartbreak and I do love the bitterness of the chocolate and my friends ordered their coffees based on how they drink it every single day..
Magnum Opus wil l always be my go-to cafe to chilll whenever I'm at BF. The baristas are super friendly and accommodating which makes it super comfortable to be around them, thus making my stay very good. The coffees are finely crafted as promised. My personal favorite is their Belgian Heartbreak paired up with Azure of the Gold. :) the best!
I've been hearing about this coffee shop from my friends who have wandered the happening places in the south. There were even separate occasions that this cafe was mentioned asking them about a good place to hangout. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try and have a first hand experience.
We were surprised as we went in since the place can only hold around 10 or so people but customers can opt to dine outside where there were crafted woodwork benches. We ordered the Belgian heartbreak and the Insane Monte Cristo. The staff guided us in choosing especialy for my case who is a beginner in coffee. They warned me about the macho latte being a short drink only so I chose the White Latte instead.
I'm impressed with the presentation of our drinks and food, we couldn't help but take photos of it before indulging. First, I sipped on the Belgian heartbreak, I can definitely taste the bitterness of the dark chocolate with a bit of sweet after taste. I'm a fan of dark chocolate that's why this drink won me over. The White Latte feels just right and is a gateway for beginner coffee drinks as the creamy texture of the milk mixes perfectly with the coffee. The Insane Monte Cristo is admirable to the sight and gratifying to the taste. It was very filling for me and my girlfriend due to the make of the sandwich. The dish is composed of two sandwiches with a variety of cheeses, ham and a french toast bread with a side of blueberry.
For coffee drinkers out there or people who just want to eat and experience good quality food & drink then this cafe is the place that I would recommend
I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but thanks for MO and their friendly and knowledgable staff, I learned to appreciate coffee more than just the bitter energy drink.
I became a new regular because I had to study for an exam, so I decided to pitch my tents in this coffee place. It's comfortable, and the aesthetic is quite picturesque. It's small and comfortable and is quite true to it's artisanal coffee. Thank you for being my second home during that time~
My favorites are the flat white (for new coffee drinkers), their tea, Belgian heartbreak (non coffee drinkers) and the infamous savory and sweet sandwich, the Monte Cristo.
Decided to try Magnum Opus today and I thought the outdoor seating section was pretty cool because you get a good view of Aguirre Street! I went there at around 6 pm so the weather wasn't that bad. Also, the coffee was really good! I ordered the Chilled Heartbreaker, and it was strong, thick and very flavorful. I haven't had my mocha drinks done that way before so it was interesting. Magnum Opus is a really nice hang-out place in BF. However, if you're looking for a more comfortable place to chill and study, I recommend Carpe Diem, which is only a few stores away from Magnum Opus. They have really fast wi-fi and a lot more food options.
I love the idea that it's not so easy to find. Definitely a plus points for me. Only those who really wishes to find it goes there. Makes it feel like it's exclusive. I love that it's at the center of BF Homes but once you're there, you're suddenly transformed into a different place. Very cozy and homey feel.
Love the place! The ambience is calming and great to hang out in. Now, I've only ever tried their cold belgian heartbreaker. It was scrumptious but the serving size was kind of disappointing for its price. The staff was great and accommodating. Would definitely come back one day for more of their drinks.
Good coffee, good desert . I love their cheese cake
They have some gourmet coffee with chocolate it's very good . The place is on 2nd floor it's quite hard to find
This place was listed in the top cafe's you should visit so I did. I love the place even if it was small because it looked clean and organized. I love the coffee as well even if I tried the decaffeinated drink. Perfect place to just chill and drink coffee and read magazine. Best when raining :)
I was underwhelmed by the Belgian heartbreaker. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but it tasted quite ordinary and I thought the cup was pretty small.
Also tried the French toast, which was nice. I'll probably come back when I feel like spending a lot of money on coffee.
My daughter liked the cookies and the staff was friendly.
Good place to chill with your friends and have a good cup of coffee. The Batista's are just excellent, good service and great company. The only thing that I can say negative about the place would be the amount of space.
And this is the drink that made my heart break: Belgian Heartbreak. I would liken this to a café mocha as this consisted of dark belgian chocolate and espresso. This was one good coffee that I had to stop myself from drinking it all.
I paired my cup with their NY Cheesecake. This was very dense. You could see how compact the cake is. Though I would have preferred for the crust to be a tad thicker, this was still a good pair to my coffee.
So if you’re looking for a good place to have some alone time or chat with a few friends, I would definitely recommend this café. Get your hearts broken by their coffee concoctions, and sweet & savory treats.

English only please? Hehe Seems the wait staff are all English speakers. Was great sitting on the patio since the weather is so nice. I geeked out on the tardis facade on the bathroom. Nice designs on the foam of my latte
My favorite non conformist coffee place ever. ???? if you're a coffee lover, you should definitely visit this place and order the Belgian Heart Breaker.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the South. They also serve desserts but I'm not one to form an opinion on desserts as I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Worthwhile going to if you're in the BF area. Their 2nd floor place gives you a nice view of the busy Aguirre/Elizalde area.
One of the coolest places around BF and the place is sort of hidden or most people won't really know that there would be a cafe in it's location, but that's what I like about it. It's never too crowded the menu is awesome and the coffee of course is good. If you need to have a good conversation with a friend I recommend you guys check this place out.
