Excellent food and the price is very reasonable! We went on opening day, so we did expect some hiccups during service. But the wait was definitely worth it! We came in at 11 am for brunch and ordered the Cheese omelette, chili and cheese omelette, bacon and smoked longanisa. Everything was good but the bacon and smoked longanisa were the best among the bunch. The longanisa was very juicy and the smokey flavor really made it stand out. The bacon is a must order! We were fortunate that our extended family ordered the American slab and pulled pork, which we sampled. If you're going to order ribs, the slab is the best because of the three layers of fat and meat. It makes the ribs sooo tender and succulent! The pulled pork I tasted here is the best one I've had so far. Other places slather a lot of sauce but that just kills the flavor. Here, the flavor of the pork and smoke really makes it a premium dish. The price was lower than we expected for something that needs 6 hours of cooking (not counting prep time) and with imported wood chips to boot. There are dishes on the lower end of the price range making a visit to Smoke not too costly. On a previous night, we were also able to sample the buffalo wings (cooked just right, tender and juicy) and had the habanero sauce to spice things up. Oh, the corn bread was a welcome break from the spice. And for dessert, the spice cake was a fitting end - fudgy chocolate with habanero, yeah! I'm sure the service will improve in time. We will definitely be coming back again and again and with friends and visitors from out of town!

The ribs and the slab are to die for. And, I'm not saying that because I'm friends with the owners. It's just that the food is just really G.R.E.A.T! I have sampled Chris's smoked ribs years ago at his residence. The taste was unforgettable, it was the best I have tried to this day. So when he decided to open up Smoke, the barkada made sure we'll be there on opening day. The Manila-Paoay trip was sooo worth it. Everybody in the group loved all the dishes we sampled. For me, who can't take spicy food, I zeroed in on the slab -- it was heavenly as expected! Meat Head, how long are you keeping the amazing lasagna a secret? :-)

I might use super-describers like magic and miracle and unbelievable to describe the smokin food that they serve here...rib slabs, pulled pork, chillis and corn bread, calamansi squares and spice cake, cajun chicken and shrimps...healthy smoothies and cocktails... I know, you might need a minute. I get it. Just like us, overwhelmed with the flavors that is new to Ilocos, especially their take on bagnet and Longganisa, smoked with special woodchips coming from the states. Soooo gooood! And you'll get the best view of the majestic Paoay church while you dine. Not to forget their happy hour! Buy 1 take 1 on cocktails plus discounted beers!!! Awesome!!!

Excellent Food, Nice View, Great Service If you ever drop by Paoay, visit Smoke Bar and Restaurant located at Paseo de Paoay just beside the church. The food is excellent and the service is top-notch. My personal favourite is their pulled lamb with mint jelly. I also love their spice cake! All the other dishes are to die for. If you are visiting Ilocos, this should definitely be one of your stops. They also serve smoked Ilocos longganisa and it's better than any other Ilocos longganisa I've tasted and I'm Ilocana.

It's been a month since we went to Ilocos and we are still craving for the American Slab and Habanero Sauce! We were supposed to eat at the resto downstairs but it was full at that time, so we tried Smoke to grab some meat. The slab was cooked to perfection and the Habanero Sauce is the best! The serving is actually good for two(2) but if you have a carnivorous girlfriend, you might want to order another serving for yourself because nothing will be left but bones once you dig in. The Smoked Longanisa is a must order! too bad we're not able to try the Smoked Bacon. The place is also a perfect vantage point to see the Paoay Church and is well ventilated. We really liked the owner, very nice man and the staffs are very accommodating. We demand the management to open a branch here in Manila so city folks can get a good food without traveling up north to Ilocos. Please have a branch here in Manila.. Thank you!
