When one craves for home-cooked comfort food, head for BARRIO INASAL---they don't disappoint
The best Chicken Inasal i’ve had! I always look forward to eating here again!
barrio inasal 2nd flr. at DON GESU BLDNG.
Good food but takes forever to serve the food.
One of the best place for inasal in the south. Though the place is under staff they do make up for it with their sincere service and warm hospitality.
My family celebrated mother’s day by eating at Barrio Inasal. My aunt introduced the place to us and what can I say? It tastes PERFECTLY FILIPINO.
If you crave for filipino cuisines, I believe this is the place to go. I’m calling this a “hidden gem” since the restaurant is kinda hidden so you do not have to fall in line when you visit, but when you do visit, i kid you not you won’t regret it 👌🏻
Plus! They have blackboards for kids to draw on and a TV that showed children’s shows when we were there.
Authentic inasal chicken at a reasonable price.
Nice, comfortable ambiance. What I like the most are the little extras in the restaurant like an alfresco area, available books/ magazine to read while waiting for your order, flat screen TV and chalkboards for little patrons to express themselves!
To be honest, the only dish I've tried from Barrio Inasal, is their Inasal, but I think that since it's part of their name then my over all review is justified. The char and grill marks on the chicken are absolutely on point and the meat is tender and moist. What sets it apart from our favorite Mang Inasal is that it's not commercialized and Barrio Inasal makes it taste so authentic that you'd really be able to compare the two. You don't even have to pair it with the standard soy sauce, kalamansi, sili dip combo and you certainly wouldn't need to drown your rice in chicken oil to help the chicken taste better. No shade to Mang Insal though! :) Read my full review on choosyabbey.wixsite.com/choosyabbey

We loved how authentic the Chicken Inasal was (because many other restaurants serve Inasal but they no longer taste authentic), and also loved the Kangkong with Garlic and their Sisig, all seasoned just right and didn't take long despite the place being a full house. The ambience is basic and no-frills, which makes it ideal for family weekend dining, or for office lunch breaks. Their prices are reasonable, the service staff is helpful and attentive.
Ambience
- They have a nice and spacious balcony that's great for any intent, drinking, eating or even just simply unwinding after a stressful day. Go over here during January when south wind is a bit chilly and you'll realize you never have to go down south tagaytay to chill!
Drink
- Weve been here a few time and the temperature of their beers is consistenly below zero which makes a perfect accompaniment to its food and balcony ambience.
We usually just order their grilled items and every single item is just perfect. Especially when matched with their below zero beer. They adopt the Iloilo inasal taste. I think they use chicken oil to grill it, which makes them really tasty!
Worth citing:
Pecho
- Probably the best inasal in Manila. Reminds me of Manukan Country from my hometown, Bacolod. It tastes so authentic!
Baticolon
- our favorite for its Awesome crunch!
Molo
- Fail. If you've tasted one from Iloilo. my Lola will be disappointed if she orders it.
Price:
Little bit more expensive than the usual inasal places in manila but it's worth it.
Staff:
They're understaff but everyone is accommodating.
