Some familiar flavors we always crave when in Pancake House are that of the Spaghetti- tasty, meaty goodness; Pan Chicken- patis marinated crispy fried chicken that is the favorite of many generations; Classic Pancake- no shortcuts in making this; creamy and fluffy, perfect for Sunday mornings; Tacos- who hasn't, even once in his lifetime, been addicted to their tacos ( esp ecially during the 90's when mexican & fil/mex diners were unheard of ). I also tried Spicy Chicken Breast on Brown Rice Pilaf - served with mayo, this dish lacked depth of flavor. It was bland and chicken was overcooked-- forgivable as service in this branch is good, staff is proactive. Lesson learned- although it's great to try new dishes, sometimes it's also best to stick to the classics😊
Staff are nice and friendly
Food is as expected; its really good! Its one of my favorite restaurants
Suggestion is for the restaurant to have blinds especially that their location faces the sunrise and they open early.
Great place for either snacks or a full meal, the hamburger steak special set is great I always order extra rice with it which does not come with it, the waffle is great me and my daughter share when we order this of course always include the sides which is country sausage and bacon to balance the sweetness, staff is also friendly with a little downside in it which is they often make idle talk and sometimes don't see customer's calling for them.
My go-to Restaurant if you're in doubt at other places to eat. I've always liked their roasted beef since you get the salad ,rice and mashed potato. Their service in here is okay or probably just because there was only 3 customers by that time. I also love their Grilled cheese sandwich. I've never had any bad experiences in any branch that i have visited.
I have been eating here since I was a wee little boy. Pancake house is one of my top comfort food restaurants in Manila, IHOP has nothing one you.
My top 5 Dishes are at 5th is Chocolate Marble Pancake, with whipped butter, peanut butter, and chocolate swirls on a light pancake.
4th is their potato salad. It's my dad's favorite so it has sentimental value.
3rd is their clubs sandwich.
2nd is their "Best taco in town" and it could might as well be.
and at 1st is their Pan Fried Chicken. That gravy is just to die for and it's sooo cheap.
Pancake House is known for such comfort food like, well, pancakes. Light, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth type, its pillowy-soft consistency wraps you in its warm embrace. I have a couple of favorites -- Caramel Banana Walnut and Chocolate Marble (I warned you I have a love-hate relationship with peanut butter). Meanwhile my daughter is an avid fan of their Mini Pancakes with Candy-Coated Choco Bites (P101). We've been on an epic battle over getting her to eat pasta or rice instead of this breakfast/dessert item. Admittedly, I've long past waved the white flag. I now know better than to force her to order something she half-heartedly likes and not finish it anyway.
I believe Pancake House has lasted for decades because it has provided so many Filipino families with good food that brings comfort and a sense of home. I've noticed that the new dishes that appear on the menu are usually a mix of hits and misses, one that is a change, albeit not always nice, but something different just the same. It may provide a respite somewhat to the perfect meals they serve, but I still believe these classic plates are what will get people to come back over and over, time and again.
