It's a good thing we got there early (around 10:30 am) kasi may pila pala haha. The place doesn't let customers come inside until they open at 11 am. So just minutes after we arrived the line was sooo long already and by the time we went in, the place cannot accomodate all the people in line. The place was jampacked and the line was still loooong. Then came the food and it all explained why people are willing to stay in line and wait for others to finish eating and while waiting get tortured by watching those ahead of them eat while they drool upon the site. The people whose orders were already taken are waiting inside and can already smell the food which added to the torture hehe. Good thing we did not take part of that "torture" experience as we were second in line. But if we do come back and the line is loooong maybe i'd still take the chance to stay in line (note that I'm not fond of being in lines and hate to wait for whatever it is that I have to wait for) and get tortured coz anyway I'll experience the goodness of their food afterwards.

I had several recommendations to try this place out. Amazing experience. Had to wait for a while because we came in a bit late and the queue was a bit long, but boy that Shoyo ramen was great. The gyoza was awesome too. I’ll be back for a different ramen next time.

It's very seldom that I really notice what I am eating. For me, if you tasted something, you've tasted it all. I have been hearing my husband gushing about this place since he loves to eat ramen. I didn't take him seriously at first but when I got to eat here, I was speechless. I loved their ramen and gyoza. So far, I haven't been able to compare it to other places I've been to.

You need to be patient if you want to eat here. But the long wait is worth it as the food is so damn good. It was my first time and will definitely come back again. They alao have improvised chopsticks for those (like me) who are not used to using one. Their rame and gyoza are a perfect match 👌🏻 Take kote that they di not accomodate reservations, it is on a first come first serve basis. They also do not deliver nor allow take-out orders. ✌🏻

I came all the way from Mandaluyong on a weekday night and I still had to wait almost an hour. Because I was alone, they squeezed me in. The tantanmen was superb! The wait was worth it!

The queuing time is a let down but they serve the best ramen in town! So, it’s worth the wait!

Hands down the best ramen I've ever had as I passed through Manila. The Tantanmen made me forget I had a cold, the broth was perfectly rich, and the chasu would break just right on your chopsticks. This place is a must!

Always a great ramen place. The broth is such a bomb. Flavorful, thick and soothes your hungry tummy! My go to ramen here is Tantanmen. I love the spicyness that it brings to thw experience. Im not a fan of noodles, its heavy and I personally have hard time finishing up. Id prefer getting an extra broth to finish the noodles (you can ask one for 200 pesos). I usually end the meal with a soda to just give a break to my full tummy. Very hygienic, utensils are given in this envelope.

The ramen is absolutely incomparable to other ramen restaurants. However, due to the Covid protocols they now require people to pay before entering the restaurant, this is okay for the most part but if someone wanted to order more they’d have to get a separate bill again. Also the wait outside is not comfortable. Although this is to speed up the pace and lessen the time exposed in the restaurant, this make it feel like a fast food ramen chain, perhaps its unnecessary to do so.

Note: During community quarantine

Food - After my remarkable gastronomical experience in BGC, I cannot wait to try more of what Mendokoro Ramenba has to offer. This time, I decided to try their most popular dish - the Shoyu Ramen. It's actually a downsized version of the Super Chasu, in terms of the size of the pork, but the same umami flavor of the broth is present. Doneness of noodles was consistently firm and everything in my bowl led to a happy ending. The Gyoza was perfectly done, too.

Place - Branch in Molito is much smaller and gets easily full at any time of the day. Dining-in guidelines under quarantine protocols are observed.

Price - High.

Mendokoro Ramenba

The rich soy-based broth, marinated soft-boiled egg, flavorful grilled pork belly with the right amount of fat, and unusually thick almost al dente noodles gave me warmth and delight partnered with their succulent gyoza. It was a happy experience.

Try to order their off-menu super chashu! You will be satisfied with the meat 'cause the tenderness of the pork just melts in your mouth.

I'm not really a big fan of ramen but this place is nice. We all liked what we ordered. The pork on the Shio ramen was so tender that it breaks apart just by using chopstick. Place is small but has a good vibe.

I'm not a ramen person but this place is surely a place I won't say no. Rich flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles and meat.

I know this is associated with Ramen Yushoken so I go with may favorite Shio while my partner got the Shoyo.

Shio - Php400
Shoyo - Php430
Gyoza (3pcs) - Php120
Aji Tamago - Php80

Ramen ba? Mag Mendokoro ka na! 😂 Get it?

Corny jokes aside. I've eaten in Mendokoro Makati branch many times before they opened here in Alabang. I have to say the quality, finesse and service have remained consistent. It's always a joy eating here. Just thinking about their Super Chashu gets my salivary glands going. Don't forget those gyozas. Their essential to cut the richness of Super Chashu. Ugh. I might have to go to Molito tomorrow. 😁

Welcome to the south!

Places and service- it was clean, the service is above average, it did not take too long for the food to be served.
Food- It depends on how do you want your ramen to be. 'We have our own preferences.'
Honestly, I didnt enjoy the broth. I think it's too creamy, feels like I'm eating sopas. The noodles- i wasnt able to enjoy it as well because I prefer the thin noodles. Just to be clear, Im not saying that it tastes bad it's just not what i prefer my ramen to be. So if you have the same likes as mine, you might want to consider my review. :)

Full house at Mendokoro Ramenba Alabang. I got the Shoyu Ramen (php400) with Tamago (php80). Best in town! The chasu was roasted and smokey. Everything was savoury as f*ck lol. Still the #1 ramen for me! There was a waiting list when I arrived, but since I came alone, I was given the single available seat at once!

I ordered tantanmen. It is a must for me to order it just so I can differentiate the tastes from other ramen restos. With Mendokoro, mas creamy ang tantanmen nila. I loved our dinner naman although I can't help but feel inggit sa order ng tatay ko. Mas masarap yung kanya eh hahahaha. Rating it a 4 because the staff were nice and attentive plus the ramen was good.

Yung Karai Tokusei by far is the best tsukemen sa Pinas. I like to eat here kasi kanya kanya yung mga tao. Tsukemen noodles are thick and springy. Ang hirap idecode nung lasa nung tsukemen broth, di gaya nung sa ibang ramen shop lasang lasa yung powdered bonito and miso kaya madaling ireplicate sa bahay.

Had Miso Ramen. Took awhile for it to be served and it really doesn’t make sense that after ordering and paying, they’ll give you a small piece of paper for your order only for you to give it to another waiter a few moments later. Anyway as for the taste it was good but really doesn’t differentiate itself from other ramen places.

I like the balance of the Tantanmen. It was creamy and spicy at the same time. Noodles were thick, and the broth was just right.

Compared to other gyoza's I've tried, theirs was a bit bigger and taste was good but nothing special except for the size.

Overall 4/5 stars :)

On there 3rd branch in Manila. Smaller than the 2 other branches. Less than 20 seating capacity. Its just across yushoken. Still the long wait in line.

AMBIENCE
Establishment is across Omakase and what will be Atilla Meat Bar. It is limited seating just like their branch at Makati and you also Pay As You Order. We arrived shortly after opening time and there were few customers. Several minutes later, the branch started getting crowded but there was still lots of breathing room. We chose seats facing the window instead of the kitchen.

FOOD
Shoyu Ramen was insanely umami with a sinfully delicious and tender pork belly, broth and noodles with a perfectly hard texture. Ebi Tonkotsu Ramen (off-menu) was just as umami with a generous serving of a variety of seafood. Broth was mind-blowing and the experience was like having several soupy shrimp heads. Aji Tamago oozed out nicely! It was like watching melted chocolate falling off a marshmallow, and it was actually served cold with a thick texture. Temperature didn't matter since I threw it into the hot broth.

SERVICE
We were welcomed by loud greetings, a very familiar experience back at Japan and we really miss that! Staffers assisted us with our umbrellas since they didn't seem to have a rack nearby. While deciding on what to order, they offered us to try their off-menu Ebi Tonkotsu Ramen and the name, alone, sounded precious! So, we threw them a YES! Kudos for being very knowledgeable about the ingredients. Although the water pitcher was beside us already, a server was always ready to pour us H20. As we left, we still received the same loud and energetic greetings.

They still delivered in terms of taste and service speed, only reason why i gave 4 stars is because of their pay first scheme, i’d rather go to yushoken for good ramen AND good table service.

When I came here, I looked at Yushoken and I remembered the spiderman meme that were pointing at each other. The nice thing about this place is that it has the traditional japanese ramen feel of paying first and you are seated at the bar area. This is good if you want to have a quick meal and go.

First time to try Mendokoro Ramenba. You have to pay first for your order and wait until you get seated. Waiting area is outside the restaurant but it is shaded. Those people you see outside are waiting for their seats. When your number is called, show your order slip to your server and they'll provide your food. Had the following:

Gyoza - same taste with Yushoken. You can order in either 3 or 5 pcs. Eat it while it's still hot.

Super Chashu - like what the cashier said it's tastier than Shoyu. Chashu was big and I almost didn't finish it. Kinda too salty after you've eaten more than half.

Chashu as big as your face. So yummy, you will savor it in bites as you slurp a smokier version of your favorite broth. Thanks to Matt - ramen connesiur for the recommendation. off-menu so be sure to show this photo.

👍👍 as always. 😊 perfect ramen, perfect weather, perfect company 😊 very friendly staff 😊❤️
Our go-to resto in molito.
Different setup compared to yushoken.
1. Pay and order at cashier
2. Wait for your number to be called
3. Give the paper with order & number to the server
4. Gulp

Same as Yushoken’s menu and taste and errthang to be honest, and still giving 5 stars. Only difference is that you don’t have to pay any service fee. You have to pay and order first and if you’re waiting, goodluck. At least now I get to pick for 2 ramen places whenever i’m craving! Good stuff! ❤️

When my colleagues and I found out that Mendokoro Ramenba had already opened its doors for the Southies, we immediately headed to Molito Commercial Complex to try this place. Situated beside the parking entrance and TechnoPop, this little ramen house will surely peak your interest as this is extremely popular and jam-packed especially at lunch. We went here after work to take our dinner. We were surprised there weren't any lines yet when we arrived. You have to order first before taking a seat. If you are in a group, you have to order together or else there is a big chance you won't sit together. The menu is similar with Ramen Yushoken. It wasn't my first time (I tried them first at their BGC branch) so I ordered my favorite Tantanmen. The serving was fast and the staff are approachable. If you love Ramen and if you are from the South, you definitely should try this place! 🍜
