Great food, great ambience... I love Mama Chit's in Marikina City...
Awesome place! great ambiance. hope to get back there
Love hamburgers and onion rings and of course the bike shop beside it :-)
Small space but big burgers. The price makes the food so so worth it. The interior is cute. They also sell imported sofdrinks. We go here after hearing mass. The cheeseburger is already a decent choice and it makes me full. Would definitely go back!
Too bad I haven't tried their burgers yet since it's their top dish (foolish me) what I've tried is their carbonara and it is delish! At an affordable price, I get to eat a very good creamy carbonara. I just hope that for dine-ins, they will not serve the dish on a plastic disposable container but just make some use of plates and metal utensils like normal restaurants because save Mother Earth, of course!
I also loved their place. It was very cute with a retro feels in it. Best time to visit is probably on a weekdays because the place is not that big and it could get crowded and noisy if people would be flocking it. I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday and I got the whole place to myself which is very nice. Hopefully I could go back there and finally try their burgers.
Super sarap ng burgers dito. Ganda rin ng setup ng place. Maliit lang yun place pero 5/5 pa rin kasi masarap yun burgers, yun hungarian and okay rin yun fries. Accommodating yun staff.
Of course we went for the Family Burger!!! You can tell from the juiciness of the meat that it was cooked carefully. Every bite was delightful! We added jalapenos and mushroom to our burger and it was heavenly!
The interior is a reminiscent of the good 'ol days. The vintage diner feel is all too real. It's not pretentious like what other "vintage" cafes are doing. Mama Chit's design is coming from a place which really lived to see the beauty of that time.
Masarap yung food dito especially their burgers. A little bit pricey pero worth it naman yung gagastusin. Medyo matagal na din kasi akong nakapunta dito pero naalala ko naorder ko dito cheeseburger something like that at pagkatapos namin ng friend ko sobrang busog kami at bloated lol.
Been here a couple of times already. Binabalik-balikan ko talaga yung burger nila. I SUPER LOVE IT! Though it was a little pricey, hindi naman nila tinitipid yung ingredients.
We ordered cheeseburger and onion rings. Unfortunately, no onion rings were available (and we were not informed) so we decided to switch it to criss cut fries.
Burgers were delicious. However, the fries were ordinary. It is a bit expensive here.
About the service, the one in the counter was not really friendly. She talked to us like we were not welcome. She did not even inform us that onion rings were not available. We only knew when we followed up since we were waiting for forever.
I'd still comeback though because of the burger's taste.
My mom took me on a spontaneous dinner date at Mama Chit's some time ago. Being a lover of anything vintage/classic/retro, I was in awe. The place isn't too big, but it's not cramped either. They offer affordable food of excellent quality and they play really good music. Such a perfect place to hangout and share a box of their giant burger. ❤️
Mejo matagal na when I went here. It was featured in kris TV again that's why I decided to give it a try. I'm not sure now but before, super crowded dito. Nothing special about the food . Yun lang
We ordered the cheeseburger (P100) and the nacho salad (P180). The size of the burger was big for the price which is awesome! The taste was satisfactory for me. I was looking for a cheesier taste because IT IS A CHEESEburger but over all it was good. The nacho salad was not what I expected at all. It was actually a healthy type of salad unlike the usual cheese and beef ingredients. It had apples, pineapples, carrots, lettuce, beef, a sprinkle of cheese and signs of a light italian dressing (vinaigrette, maybe?). It was really good and had a cleansing feel to it. Lol. The ambience of the place had a quaint feel. You're eyes wont ever be bored looking at the myriad of photos, trinkets, vintage stuff, etc. around the shop.
Their famed burger is larger than life. Big enough to feed a group of four. Mama Chits is a hidden gem in Marikina, a streetside diner that serves affordable burgers and hotdogs.
HITS:
Cheeseburgers
Onion Rings
MISS:
Don't expect too much from the service. Parking and traffic can be bad as it is located on a two-lane road.
Mama Chit's is a homey, classic burger joint. It's located beside a Bike Shop and a 8 mins walk from Our Lady of Abandoned Church (OLA) in Calumpang. The interiors are so well thought of, if you like audrey hepburn, marilyn monroe and the Coca Cola collectibles, you should really visit this place! They got antique plate numbers, telephones, and the like. Now let's talk about food. They don't serve you Frozen Stuff like most of the commercialized products. They do their own patties, fries and shakes! It will take 10 to 15 minutes to wait for your food because they do it fresh. It may seem a bit pricey for some, but i'll tell you this, Mama Chits is the Bomb! You can never go wrong with the food, ambiance and friendly staffs. They also bake their own buns too, how can you beat that? So, please come and visit Mama Chits here in Marikina and I promise that you will go back for more!
..the place? hmm kinda hot, somehow comfortable..
.
..but the food esp. the float drinks they serve are two-thumbs up for me..
.
..the location walking distance :) - the nearest food place for me..
.
..reasonable price, too many sandwiches and drinks to taste, a good reason to come back..
.
...thank you and God bless~!..
Mama Chit's has one of the most quirky and distinctive interiors I've seen! The unique, vintage, and rare objects that are on display will bring back memories of childhood, which are also symbolic of historical and cultural significance. I just wish that they have a bigger place so more people could enjoy their delicious food!
Mama Chits got its fame and notoriety (in a good way) after it was featured in a local tv show. People who live outside of Marikina have never heard of this joint before. This is one of those moments wherein I'm thankful of the immense power of media.
This is my third time dining at Mama Chits, first time to write a review. This is the quintessential hole-in-the-wall joint. The decor comprises of vintage items - Beatles, Elvis, Andy Warhol's famous portrat of Norma Jean Baker, some cool coca cola items, posters from the 60's. Each corner is filled with tons of memorabilia - it looks cramped in a good way, this adds to its charm. Think Irish Pub.
We ordered the following:
*Cheeseburger
*Spaghetti
*CrisCut Fries
The cheeseburger is surprisingly good - a steal at php 100. The brioche bun is soft and flavorful, burger patty is juicy. Despite the usage of mustard, this didn't deter me from finishing my half (yes, this was cut in half - diet delusions).
The spaghetti is served hot (pun intended - see my previous review). Reasonably priced at php 130. Al dente noodles with generous and flavorful sauce, topped with cheese and fresh parsley.
The fries is too oily for my liking, maybe they didn't drain it well after frying. Despite the presence of oil, it's crispy and cooked to perfection. Best paired with hot sauce-mayo concoction.
A meal at Mama Chits is always satisfying. Diners get to experience a lil history lesson while munching on sumptuous affordable grub. History and good food make a killer combination.

So we went to Mama Chit's after class. While going there we got lost (to the point I live in Marikina and the place is also in Marikina) because their place is tago. The place is near to Imelda Marcos shoe museum. So we ordered their largest burger and it really wowed us because of their taste and also my friend really loves the ketchup. He said it's not like the typical ketchup in fast food or in other places.
Staff - 3/5
Food - 4/5
Place - 4.5/5
Location - 3/5
good ambiance. good food but a bit pricey. Would have been better if they didn't give us plastic fork + paper plate. such a mess when eating.
Just like Rustic Mornings by Isabelo, Mama Chit's is but a few paces away from Marikina Museum. The range of memorabilia is just awesome - the old LP records, the soda bottles, diner signs full of chirpy copy, old bottle labels, photos of Manila, I could go on and on. You're going to find things to look at over and over, and still discover something new every time that you visit.
We ordered a nice cold mango shake, a club sandwich and a burger, onion rings; and while I don't find anything particular special about the food, I think it's simply because there's no need to make more of it than it is.
It's a treasure trove of memorabilia, and older friends and relatives you can bring here might start telling you stories about their youth you'd never heard of.
Sometimes all it takes is the right trigger.
The day after I saw my friends post in ig I decided to visit this place. Great food and ambiance even though no air condition. Worth it! Good for sharing😊😊😊😊
Good taste and size of a burger for only 100 pesos! Worth the money.
So far though it's only the burger to come back for. On the others I tried eg pasta, nachos, nothing special.
Love the ambiance, the food, the service. OMG.. I love this place.. I love their burgers, they have very unique patties. It has a very diff taste than regular patties. They have fanta and b&w, cherry coke and other drinks that are hard to find in the market. I love the ambiance of the place.
I just want to say I love your burgers. I love your service. I know sometimes it takes a while, but your burgers are really worth the wait. 👍
The place was a bit small given that it's starting to create it's mark. Luckily, it wasn't crowded when we came. Despite being along a main road, it wasn't dusty inside. Food was affordable and relatively good for it's price. What struck me the most is the place's nostalgic aura. They had this collection of old items which really brought memories back. Okay going back to the food, the bun was quite dry but the patty made up for it, juicy, big, flavorful. Dressings used were good. Overall, it is recommended for those going on a foodtrip while taking a nice walk down memory lane.
Went here last year (Feb 2014) with my barkada. The place was a bit hard to find coz we got lost on the way. But when we arrived, the place got an amazing vintage interior and decors! I loved the skull and the Marilyn Monroe pinups and the ceiling was really pleasing.
There were 5 of us in all and we were seated inside, near the counter. We all ordered their biggest cheeseburger and some fries with sodas. To my astonishment, the price was soo cheap (compared to other burger restos), and when I took my first bite, I could promise that I definitely would come back to Mama Chits!
Their server (chinito, has an aura of a conyo college student) was very friendly to us, he volunteered to take us our group pics. (One of my friends fell in love at first sight at him, they even had a photo of just the two of them hahaha.) :D
Affordable yet yummy burgers. Can't go wrong here. Place is tight but you can always order take out. They usually have their burgers ready for serving or take out.
For me, best burger I ate so far. Lasang lasa pagkabeef ng patty, malaki pero hindi nakakaumay. Ambience was cool as well. Mejo maliit nga lang ang space pero overall, the food was great!
Freshly quality grilled-burgers and fries are great 😁 I like that they serve imported sodas hehe. Their service is not that satisfying sadly but maaaan, I love their vintage collections so much!!! I can't stop looking at the store interior 😹😸 Take note, better ride a jeep going to Calumpang because finding a parking space is a struggle! I must come back to this place 😻
Looks like a cute little diner inside and an little old house from the outside. Awesome place! Their have big, juicy and affordable burgers. If you're craving for a good beef in a bun in Marikina, try this place :)
Food is really great. Specially the house special Cheeseburger, beef patty is very juicy and the bun is exceptional. Everything is great except their service. Crews are always not in the mood to give you good vibes. Service is -5
Probably one of the most search food hub in marikina because our current president dines in there and it got featured on a tv show. Upon seing the place outside, you'll get to picture right away the overall look. We were lucky enough that we're the first customer to arrive during our visit.
We ordered DQ Burger, Vegetable salad, Pesto Pasta, Onion Rings and Potato wedges.
Onion Rings & Potato Wedges - the onion rings (the onions were sweet and its breading was crunchy) and potato wedges (loved the thick cut of the potato) taste good. For a low price, you'll still enjoy the quality of the food.
DQ Burger - the burger is good to 2 to 3 persons. it's not your typical burger because of three things: It's huge, homemade and has the filipino taste on it. We enjoyed eating the patty (loved that its juicy and compliments with all the ingredients on it).
Pesto Pasta & Vegetable Salad - Perfect pairing with your burger.
Overall, we enjoyed dining in the restaurant. It got an instagramable worthy memorabilia and the owner itself (Mama Chits) is pretty much active on her bussiness.
Love the vintage ambiance of the place. Food is not that pricey but tastes good.
Good place to chill and tambay. But parking lot is a struggle for this place.
After witnessing the baptismal of Baby Sean, me and my brother decided to eat near OLA. We plan to eat at Spinners Burger but it will open for 2pm pa.
Then I told him to eat at Mama Chit's instead. I ordered Baby Back BBQ Sandwich. It was sooo flavorful and yummy. The meat is tender. But i removed the onions since i hate onions ahahahaha. My brother ordered CB with Chips. According to him, it was heaven. He never stops telling me how yummy the burger is. We ordered criscut fries also and i love it.
Foods are quite pricey but i think it's worth it. The staff are great. Music playing on the background.

Of your lost in marikina and looking for something to eat. Try this coffee house in marikina. Their burger is also good. Very beefy. The meat is so tender and juicy. Very affordable price. Something to look forward whrn you are in marikina. Coffee is the best!
From where I live, Eastwood City and Marikina are the quickest and most accessible places to dine out. Its just a stone's throw away from Rustic mornings, also found near the shoe museum.
Mama Chit's operates on a modest scale. Though its place is small, its quaint, vintage ambiance attracts a lot of customers. We had their cheeseburger served with chips on the side. It was okay, not the gourmet tasting kind but definitely better than fastfood burgers. What's cool about this place is that they also sell imported sodas like Dr. Pepper and AW rootbeer!
Parking may be a challenge. You may need to park somewhere far from the burger house.
I already went to Mama Chit’s in 2013 when it was featured at KrisTV. And I think, that was the first time I started “foodtripping” but wasn’t able to blog about it.
Went back again last year. We went there on a Saturday night , expecting that there would be a lot of people around. But when we went there, there were only 4 customers around so we get to choose a good seat.
The burger’s good, same as last year. I did appreciated the place now rather than last year cause when we went there last year, there were really a lot of people and it’s hard to take photos at that time. Now, we have the place all to ourselves. Haha
So my aunt treated me here after we finished somethings in LTO. The place is small but cute and it has lots of stuff all around. There is also no aircon but that was okay that time since it was gloomy and windy. For the food, I love the chicken sandwich. I think the bread used for the bun is healthier kind compared to the usual burger buns. :)
We just had a cheeseburger and potato wedges since we had our late lunch and merienda before going here. The turkey burrito in this picture was Brian's (hubby's cousin). The bread in the burger was very soft and it tastes good. Wedge fries is kinda pricey for me because of small serving ( for 80 pesos). But still reasonable. Overall experience was okay. We had a chance to have some pictures with the owner whose very nice of her to pose with us. The place was an oldy type of resto where you can see old stuffs like (old school) phone, pictures, memorabilias..
Ambiance : it was awesome, lots of vintage stuff and photos, its like a time machine.
Food: the patty is good not too juicy, the bread is kinda average, the chips are typical, nachos are great but the dressing is not. the root beer float are fantastic.
Service: semi self service, the waitress need to smile a bit.
Price: its pocket friendly
This review was long overdue, coz I went here last year pa! I first found out about this place coz of the TV show Kris TV! When we tried it the burger was great, but not as superb as some would say. That's just my opinion. Anyway, my only problem with this restaurant is the Parking, there was no allotted parking for their costumers. We had to find a parking a bit far from the place so that was a bit hassle for us.
The burger was palatable to my taste and so is the carbonara. But what I enjoyed the most was the environment which was uniquely established in a classic style that is attractive to people who love vintage. ❤️
Price is intimidating but the taste did not disappoint! Burger patty was juicy and the bun's not the usual burger bun available in other burger joints. Must come back!
mom and i had our lunch date here today. she ordered creamy pesto (Php150) while i ordered their spaghetti (Php130) and for drinks we both got the rootbeer float (Php85 each).
it's a small semi self service vintage place but i did enjoy the pasta and rootbeer. food serving also is enough for me.
will surely visit again with the whole family to try their family burger (mom and i won't be able to finish it that is why we opted for pasta) and their colored ice tea. until now i am still wondering what a blue ice tea taste like?1?
Love their burgers! This restaurant in San Roque Marikina definitely is a mainstay among foodies out there. Great serving. Love digging in their onion rings. Vintage interiors. Affordable prices!
Nice and quirky vintage style of restaurant. Well if you will observe from its menu to the name of the place, it doesn't really match. In my opinion it's better to be called as mama chit's Burger bar. We went here looking for coffee and when we checked the menu, milkshakes and different kinds juice was served. It's a good thing that they had this variety of drinks but somewhat found it misleading. Ordered the family burger. Nothing great though. As for the milkshake, I loved it :) would prefer going here just to chill but please dont expect to see desserts and coffee.
I've heard about Mama Chit's in KrisTV. Since then, I wanted to try their famous burgers. I ordered the Double patty cheeseburger and it is yummy! It is juicy, big and the buns are crunchy. The spaghetti is also delicious. Best paired with ripe mango shake. I like it here. ❤️
I went for their cheeseburger with chips and dip (P150). The patty was really juicy; this made the whole burger experience in Mama Chit's very worthwhile. Plus, I love the vintage feel. The place is quite small though that's why they can't accommodate a big number of customers.

Mama Chit's is known for their family size burger. We're just only two so we decided to order their double quarter burger which is good for sharing. It was big. The buns is distinct, it's so tasty not like the others burger buns I've tasted. The patty is also yummy. They also offer iced tea which you will choose what color do you want. From pink, blue, red, etc.
Mama Chit's is also know for its design. It has a lot of collection items. You will see here the old Coke case which is made of wood, the Ford Logo, Reeses chocolate can, Marilyn Monroe picture, Elvis Presley picture and a lot more. It also became known because even our president Benigno Aquino III (Noynoy) went and eat here. It was also featured in Kris Tv. I saw Kris Picture and Kim Chui picture at the lower part of the Marilyn Monroe Picture.
I am not really an avid fan of burgers, but here at Mama Chit's, I'll give it a thumb up!
After giving a bite on the 150-peso huge burger, I remember biting another one and another one :) I almost forgot Johnny Rockets and Army Navy! Lol!
The buns are made of wheat and the patty is easy to bite- it was well-ground and well-done and the fiber doesn't get stuck in between your teeth (i know you know what i mean ;p). It was tender and easy to eat and tasty.
They also have the smaller version of burger which costs around P100 or maybe P99.
Their vegetable salad and potatoes are also good.
I would surely go back for the burgers:)
Boyfriend and I had their cheesburger (100), sundried tomato pasta (150), and A&W rootbeers. Really delicious. The place though, was just too small and distracting.
Delicious and affordable burgers! Will take home some Family Burger when I come back.
Food was great. One of the best hamburgers I've ever had. I like their onion rings too--large and lightly coated, with just the sufficient amount of crunch. If they had a bigger airconditioned place, I would give Mama Chit's a 5.
Heaven on Earth, God Almighty!!! I think I found the place that will satisfy the hole left by In-N-Out when I moved back here in the PH. :)))
Knocking in at Php. 600, their Family Burger filled 6 hungry stomachs. However, the pastas that we tried, the pesto and carbonara wasn't up to par to the tasty and juicy flavor set up by the epic burger.
In addition, the place was divine! It was meticulously draped with vintage decors that will have you thinking you entered a time machine. It was even complete with a rotary telephone and all!!!
My boyfriend and I been here last Friday night and their resto vibe was so cozy with vintage posters and stuff on the wall. I ordered Tunss sandwich and his was carbonara. Tuna sandwich for P80 was big enough to feed your tummy with a healthy food with lot of veggies inside. I dont know how their carbonara tastes, tho. Hahaha. Will be back here to try their family burger!!!
I enjoyed their burgers! Their biggest burger only costs 600 php plus the burger is healthy! Their patties taste like veggies mixed with i don't know, burger patty ingredients :) Tasted good tho
When no less than the President of the Philippines drops by a neighborhood resto to try its food, you know they have something special there. A few months back, a friend told me that Mama Chit’s was also featured by the presidential sister on her TV show. Strange as it seems, this coffee shop is more well known for their burgers than their coffee. And for good reason. They offer two versions of the burgers. Single serve (P99) and family size(about P600). Their family size burger, which I think is good for 6 people, is almost as big as a cake. While waiting in line for about an hour, I thought people were taking out cakes because I kept seeing big boxes being carried away. We came around lunch time, and only a few days after the TV feature, so there were really a lot of people. They even had to stop accepting orders because there was already a big food order backlog. I had the single serve cheeseburger while my friend ordered the spaghetti (P100)and mojos (P75). The cheeseburger is what I’d describe as a classic cheeseburger. A sesame bun, single patty, lettuce, cucumber tomato, mayo and cheese. The burger patty tastes similar to the “pinoy langhap –sarap” type of burger. The home -made kind. While Zark’s is still my current favorite, at P99, Mama Chit’s cheeseburger offers great value. The spaghetti was also done p-noy style (corny pun intended haha). Sweet, cheesy and satisfying. If you’ve seen the TV show The Pickers (about two guys who buy and sell old stuff), this place is what they would call a picking "honey-hole", because of the sheer number of cool memorabilia and antique items displayed on their walls. They have everything from old soda signs, cans and bottles, elvis photos, a slot machine, old phones, records, antique lamps and even a coal-fired flat-iron. Good and affordable food. Charming interior decor. Hopefully parking can be improved as only roadside spaces are currently available. Will definitely be back.
