Wanted a grab a quick snack while in Marikina so I googled that is a bit near the city hall. Food took a while to be cooked but was great tasting especially their garlic aligue pasta which I think everyone should give a try.
This place was introduced to me by my boyfriend because this is one of his favorite spots in Marikina. Dined here thrice already before I decided to write a review. Dishes are affordable. Tried the crabby tuna sandwich—it flavors feel light when you eat it but it’s actually heavy in the stomach. Also tried the sweet summer salad which was good. I was also able to try their bacon liempo chicharon (sorry, no photo) and I loved it. I was also able to try the smoked bangus (no photo) but I didn’t enjoy it. For the dessert, I’ve tried the deep fried oreos and it was enjoyable and good—I love the generous amount of whipped cream.
Food regularly ordered:
Bacon Liempo Chicharon
Sweet Summer Salad
Nachos
Garlic Shrimp Aligue Pasta
Seafood Marinara
Mexican Omelette
These are my top picks for this resto.
Not a fan of their burgers as the patties are dry and bland.
Service is okay and wait time is fast as well. A place where you can eat and hang around if you need time to work.
I will always remember Alexei's for its ambiance. It cozy. It's like your just eating at home
Ambience 5/5
Food 4.5/5
Price 4/5
My personal favorite is beef salpicao.
That was a rainy afternoon when my friends and I met here. The ambiance is good with own parking space. It was my first time here and I can say that the meals are good. Cupcakes are tasty and nor too sweet. Seafood pasta tastes well. This place is good for meetups. Tables and chairs are available outside for those who want to enjoy the ambiance and perhaps for those who smoke. Would love to come back here.
How to go? If you are from Marcos Highway, you can ride a jeep going to Montalban or Sumulong Highway. Or ride a tricycle in front of Sta Lucia Mall.
What I really enjoyed about this place is the ambiance. It's a good spot to catch up with friends or to get work done. The service is great as well.
It was my second time here last February 26. I asked my friend to have dinner here because of their rice meals that I have not tried my first time. I ordered Seafood Rice Bowl and a cup of americano while my friend had Honey Ginger Wings and Strawberry Kiwi shake. I loved the seafood rice bowl, I thought I would only have the shrimps and squids on top but there was plenty buried underneath. We both enjoyed everything we ordered. The place was just right for a nice chat, the staff and the restrooms were not bad. My friend only had a problem with parking because she said the space was little and the parking attendant should wear a colored clothing drivers could not see him from inside the car. I will surely go back to try out their other food.
Good food, I had the bulalo steak and it was good. The ambience was okay, the parking was not an issue since there's only a few people who ate.
We were looking for a cafe/dessert place around Marikina, which led us to Alexei's. I've been here countless times and I generally like the food. Wifi's pretty fast also! What went wrong on this visit though was we originally ordered a Strawberry milkshake to share. I asked for an extra straw (since we were sharing) but one of the waitresses accidentally doubled the order. I didn't refuse cos that would be deducted on her pay - but being pre-diabetic, I wasn't able to enjoy also cos it was too sweet for me and a watered down half-serving would've been good already.
Anyway, aside from that mishap, I'd come back for their food! I like their potato wedges and beef stroganoff :) Alexei's great for days when you just need comfort food.
Unsuspectingly amazing!
Got bacon liempo & taco salad for appetizers. Wow. Just yum. If this is just their starter, how much more for the main entrees? Delightful!
Was so torn between beef rice bowl and beef stroganoff pasta. Server made the choice for me to try their ricebowl. It did not disappoint. Hubby got Salpicao and he was happy. Son got porkchops, he said a little tough for him but yummy. Baby got bacon & pancakes, she was her usual bubbly self. Got room for milkshake, tried chocolate nutty-- heaven.
Still open at 11pm--definitely coming back for more almost-midnight cravings. Their place is like a secret I just couldn't keep :) trying the beef stroganoff next time.
Love their vintage vibe 💕 Just perfect. Their price dont really break the bank - sulit for payday treats. No wonder their place is still up even if so many food trucks/parks are sprouting up in the area.
Fast internet was really a catch. Good place to dine if you want to stay and eat in a quiet place. Food choices are good. Nachos is the best. Servings a big enough to share.
I really like the milkshake of alexei's. It took them like 30-40muns to serve our orders. As for the taste, two thumbs up. Ang sarap ng grilled salmon nila
Masarap mga food nila lalo na mga pasta and desserts kaso sa mga staff lang siguro di ok coz parang di approachable but the place and food is okay 😊
Parang everytime i eat here nagkakaLBM ako haha. Well maybe just a coincidence but i love the fried rice and sizzling bulalo. At yun mga dessert masarap dinZ pero nothing special na eh. Mejo nakakasawa after awhile, parang ayaw ko na balikan......
We visited the restaurant on a Sunday lunch. We arrived Alexei's at around 1pm and parking spaces were available. We then entered the diner and found it empty. A few groups then started coming in after we sat down, although not enough to make the diner too busy and noisy. The two-floored place is quite cute, with all the simple and retro decorations. I also found a small, separate room outside the restaurant, which I believe is for catering small groups. The diner also shares a space with an auto center (I guess there is only one owner for both the shop and the diner), which kinda explains the numerous car magazines in the diner's book rack (that my boyfriend enjoyed).
BF wanted to show me a place where people can hide from the world. Who would have thought that there was a gem inside an auto detailing shop in Marikina? As soon as we parked I immediately loved this place. It has a big willowy tree and ancient bamboo. Plus a vertical garden accented with an antique capiz window.
Food, I was sad that most of their seafood dishes weren't available for the day. :( I was craving for shrimp salpicao so I settled for smoked bangus breakfast meal (P180). Serving was generous and service was great. BF ordered spaghetti bolognese (P180) & we think the cook hates the owner because there's too much meat on the spaghetti!
I really love their interiors. It was understated yet whimsical. Every time I turn, there was something nice to focus on. It wasn't overwhelming. I'd definitely comeback to hide away and try more of their food (as long as it's available) I can picture that it's also a great place to work in. :)
I'll update my rating when I go back next time and if they have better food selections.
Alexei Diner. A small restaurant hidden in along Gil Fernando Avenue. A stone throws away from where he lives. This is one of our go-to places when we are in need of quick grub.
The plan was to go to UPTC to have dinner at Silantro and have some dessert at Rocky Mountain. The beastly weather changed our plans and we decided to have dinner within the area. We initially went to Sallianos - Italian Restaurant relatively near Alexei. We got a table and browsed at the menu. I wasn't feeling it. Whenever i go out, i gauge the vibe of the restaurant during the first few minutes. Some gets me giddy and makes me wanna eat asap, some makes me feel like i am at home, while some is just blah. That's how i felt at Sallianos. We decided to transfer.
Alexei adapted the American Diner Concept except that the menu is not condusive to the typical diner grub. They offer pasta, rice meals, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, milkshakes and frozen coffee drinks.
We ordered the following:
Bolognese
Alexei Burger
Taco Salad
Strawberries and Cream Milkshake
Vanilla Milkshake
The pasta is mediocre. Good to satisfy pasta cravings. It lacks the strong tomato flavor that i prefer. The noodles is cooked al dente and there is generous amount of sauce. This dish could use a little flare by adding herbs and chili flakes. I finished the my plate, nevertheless.
The burger though is a different story. It reminds me of Brothers Burger. I swear it tastes like BB! I guess it has something to do with how they make the patty, the bun or the marinate. And you know what is the best part, it only costs php 150.
The milkshake is such a letdown. The strawberry tastes artificial. It wasn't as smooth as i want my milkshake to be. I cant help but compare it to Udderly Delicious. I took a sip of his milkshake, for some reason this one tastes better.
The taco salad is also good. Generous amounts of white and cheese sauce, meat, veggies and salsa on the side.
I am giving Alexei 4 stars because of my affinity with their burger. The rest of the dishes is mediocre.
Ordered beef rice bowl and IT WAS AWESOME! i'll try out the burgers the next time I come here. the cakes are delicious, and this restaurant has very good atmosphere for dine out with friends!
This place is perfect for meetings or fellowship. Cozy place and great food. The best ang seafood, nachos and shakes nila. Love love love! ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome diner! Their signature burger "Sooo Good!! Burger, fries, ice tea for 200 only c'mon people better than chilli's.
Next time I'm going for the bulalo steak one of Alexei's prime time dishes.
My second time to eat at this place. I loved their bulalo steak! It's very tender and flavorful. Also, I loved their bacon liempo chicharon. I would pay more than 180 bucks for this. The chicharon is very crispy and the vinegar is very flavorful.
What I didn't like was the blue kiwi shake. It tasted more of a banana shake than a kiwi. 😥
This is definitely my new favorite restaurant here in Marikina. At first I was very hesistant to try it because you can't see the restaurant from the outside, you'll just see the signage. When a friend told me that they have great food I got excited and tried it. The place was okay and very comfortable, you can see yourself staying there for a while to chat with friends.
First, we tried their Taco Salad and it was the best Tacos I ever tried! It has a very generous amount of toppings. Next is Grilled Porkchop, I didn't expect that it will be that big for a P195 dish, and it was very juicy! When we went back after 2 weeks, I tried the Beef Rice Bowl, again I didn't expect a very big serving!
The experience and the food was definitely worth your money! Don't hesitate to order anything because they won't fail you. I will definitely come back to try more dishes! 😀
One of my good friends been suggesting, for the longest time, to try Alexei’s Diner & Café along Engineering Road in Marikina. So last Sunday, we finally went and ate at this place. I just knew that this place is along the engineering road in Marikina but not the exact place itself.
We rode a jeepney going to "Parang" in Sportscenter. You can also ride any jeepney going to this place in front of EGS/Robinsons Supermarket near Blue Wave Mall. We got off somewhere between EGS and before the jeep turns left. At first I thought we got off the wrong place as I didn't see any restaurants anywhere. But when I looked up, there is this autoshop/carwash? Along with Alexei's signage board. It’s really a hidden place at Engineering road.
We got inside and surprised to saw a restaurant inside. It's a very nice spacious diner place in a carwash compound. We seated upstairs as there were a lot of people dining on the first floor. Upstairs, I was able to appreciate the interiors a lot.
They also have this nice clock in the other side of the wall.
Menu was handed over as we seated. They have variety of meals and drinks to choose from.
Here's what we ordered:
Bacon Alfredo
- This pasta comes along with 2 garlic breads. Servings given were really a lot! Not to mention that they gave us huuuge amounts of bacon. As in "di ka talaga tinipid sa bacon". Not to mention that even their crunchy bacon tastes so good.
Seafood Marinara
- This also comes with 2 garlic breads. I find their seafood marinara a bit sour, maybe because of the tomato (I don't like red pastas or too much tomato sauce). Though my friend quite enjoyed this meal.
Strawberries and Cream (Php115)
- totally yummy! I'm not sure if this there real strawberries included but it tastes like real strawberry milkshake, just a bit sour (maybe because of the yoghurt?). But it's really delish!!
San Miguel Super Dry (Php60)
Overall, there are still a lot of foods I wanna try at Alexei's Diner & Cafe. Will definitely come back for more! :))
Go straight Gil Fernando Avenue, after Blue Wave, to your right if coming from Marcos Highway is a hidden gem of a diner. You may miss it because it looks like a carwash from a distance (for me) but once you step inside, you'll appreciate the privacy of the place and their food selection. We usually go here when we have client presentations or meetings. Homey, serene ambiance. Last time I was here I ordered their bangus steak which was yummy but could be better if it was not sweet. Their cupcakes likewise are so delish. If not for the calories, I will eat unlimited cupcakes.
Definitely one of the best American diner-style places in Marikina I can recommend! Craving for a heavy and tasty meal or just want to hang out with friends over coffee and dessert? This is one of those restaurants you’d want to put in your priority list. Must-tries are their Shrimp & Sun-dried Tomato Pasta (P160), Fish & Chips (P175), Alexei’s Burger (P150) and Eastern-style Chicken (P165)!
For the full review, check out my website posted on my Zomato profile. Cheers!
My favorite go to place for a Sunday brunch. I have tried their breakfast selections and they are excellent. But the food that has struck a nostalgic note is their burger. It is grilled perfectly and still juicy. Also I love their deep fried oreos as a sweet finish. Very child friendly place.
I was scanning Zomato to look for the best restos in Marikina and saw Alexei's Diner & Cafe. Really glad to know that it's near my girlfriend's house! We went there on a rainy night to try what this restaurant offers.
My girlfriend had Bulalo Steak and I would give it four stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ coz I simply love the taste. Too bad I ordered Grilled Salisbury Steak, two stars ⭐️⭐️ for me since the patty wasn't really flavorful. One of the best meals we ordered was the Seafood Marinara pasta which I would rate five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The drinks were amazing too! Belgian Hot Choco Truffle and Triple Chocolate Milkshake were both five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.
I would definitely come back to try the ribs and other drinks!
EDIT:
I was kind of frustrated when I had the chance to try the ribs. It was tough and unpleasantly chewy. I've tried various versions of ribs from different restos and this one was the least I like. I'm just not sure if the ribs were overcooked or undercooked the time I visited but I was not really happy with my meal. My hands were almost shaking when I try to cut and take the meat from the bones. :( It's a NO for me.
Good food. Free wifi. So-so service....the waiter who served me does not even know how to greet guests politely. Could have been a nice 1st time experience for me.

Alexei's is one of those hidden gems in the Marikina food scene. The place is located beside Vista Valley Subdivision and along the Engineering street. The place is kind of small so at night or on the weekends it gets jammed pack. Ambiance is really good since it's cery subtle and the lightings are just perfect. One thing you're going to like here is their VERY FAST wifi w/c makes it a good hang-out place.
Food is really good given that the prices are kind of low. Their specialty is the sizzling bulalo which is a must-try. Their meals tastes good and at reasonable portions. You should also try their cheap shakes and desserts especially the delicious yema cupcake.
Overall, this is a place you can and will go back to not only because of their meals but also because it is such a great hang-out place.
I learned this place from my HS schoolmate, and since then it became my favorite place to hangout in Marikina. Very private, staff are very friendly, food is amazing, ambiance is nice and oh the wifi is fast as well.

This resto may seem hidden but it's a great quiet place to hang out in. I particularly like the cupcakes and pastries which change every now and then. I also liked the sizzling bulalo steak, it's gravy was nice and buttery. Yum!
Their mozzarella sticks and burgers are my favorite!!!!! Their place is kinda small tho (but the ambiance is really nice) so must go there early.
I attended a small birthday party here. From the main road, you will not notice the place. They have enough parking spaces for their customers. I liked the Shrimp and Sundried Tomatoes and their version of Beef Stroganoff. They have a loft to accommodate a few more customers. The place is nice but a bit small. You might also get confused it for a car shop. Still, they serve good food here.
First time to visit this place. Three things i love about this place are:
1. Si Kuya Guard, wasn't able to get his name, upon arriving we we're greeted with an umbrella kasi umuulan nun, he escorted my gf papunta sa dining area then he went back to fetch me. Naka ngiti and magalang sya always. Bihira po yan sa mga establishment na ganito.
2. Si Ate Waitress, we asked what's the best seller and she gave honest reviews on their menu. Not that she told us hindi masarap yung iba. And she was alone yet accommodating sa lahat. She served everyone with smiles kahit simpleng request lang like water and toothpicks.
3. The FOOD. You have to try the nachos. Best we've had in all our food trips. It was layered equally with meat and veggies. Hindi katulad sa iba na sa ibabaw lang. Chips then meat and veggies then chips then meat and veggies ulit. Sarap! We also tried their bulalo steak and garlic honey chicken na masarap din parehas!
Kudos sa may ari, maganda yung lugar, road side pero hindi maingay, plus sa mga puno, and we can tell the employees are happy. The only thing we would love to add to this place is another restroom. :)
I'm craving for some tasty burger then my boyfriend suggested this Alexie's burger at Marikina. The place is clean and the service crew were very accomodating. Very resonable price for Alexie's burger maybe because the patty is grilled, yum! xD We'll definitely came back here. :)
My wofe and I came here to attend our godsons dedication. They have ample parking space for guests. They serve good pasta dishes. They also have nice iced mocha that was refreshing for the afternoon. The ambiance is very nice and comfy good enough for a long talks with friends. One thing that i liked on their place was the big artsy clock. Sometjing that you would notice the moment you step in the diner.

I like their Cajun chicken penne because of the tomato flavor which tastes Italian and the spicy herby chicken that brings out a great flavor for me. The mocha milkshake is also good. My friend ordered the Arroz al cubana which she said was so delicious and filling.
The place is spacious enough because it has a second floor.

The place is so relaxing and the food I ordered is A-OK. It's my first time to eat here so I don't know if they have good quality in a high volume of costumers.
I particularly love their sun-dried tomato pasta. It's really tastey & good. Their iced coffee frappes are also nice, but it's not something I would constantly crave for. It's a little bit too sweet for me, but it's understandable since they have to offset the bitterness of the coffee. Props to them for using legit espresso shots rather than those cheap coffee-flavored powders. Other than that, their salpicao and fish n chips are just okay.
Nevertheless, I highly appreciate the attentiveness of their staff. It really shows that they value their customers!

The perfect place to chill and relax. Plus, great food that will make you taste buds in a high level. The only challenge that I can see is those guests who are making public transportation. Nonetheless, everything is almost perfect
Alexei's is one of the nicest, very homey restos I've been to in Marikina. I love that "chillax" feeling once you get to this place. I've already tried their Fish and Chips and Grilled Chicken Salad. But I definitely liked their Honey Ginger Wings. I also make sure to have [Twinings] Chamomile Tea after every hearty meal in this resto.
Additional review: Enjoyed their Beef Stroganoff (P200)!! Beef is tender and really tasty. And it really has a generous amount of beef strips on my dish. It came with 2 pcs of toast as sides. The dish was really filling and satisfying.
Their Mocha Milkshake (P100+) is expected to have that coffee-ish flavor. It came with a choco wafer stick, making me feel like a kid again while drinking it. :)
I'm not sure if they make their own cupcakes/pastries or if they outsource but the Choco Yema Cupcake (P40) is as yummy as that one from Slice. I must say, the yema icing really goes well with the choco cake. :)
This is one of those cafes I'll never get tired of. The ambiance is just so homey. Like you just wanna have coffee and pasta and read your favorite book. If that's the place you're looking for, feel free to drop by at this place. One of my faves is their Seafood Chowder and Tocilog! :)
Ordered the aligue pesto pasta, beef stroganoff pasta, the seafood rice bowl and pink banana shake...Yum yum :) one of the underrated resto in marikina but definitely worth the visit :)
