Good Food and Ambience. The Service is Great also but the comfort room for men needs more improvement they should put some air freshner to eliminate the smell from the urinary bowl.
June 23, 2018 My grandmother passed away June 17, 2018 at the age of 93, today was her cremation and the placing of her ashes at the Chinese temple in Malabon. After the rites ended at 3 pm, Deckard and I decided to not join the rest of the family for dinner cause we wanted to get back to Puppycat who had to be left at home. Our original plan was to try a new restaurant but the rain prevented us from pushing through with that idea. We decided to get dinner closer to home just in case it starts to flood. So here we are again at Dencio's Harbor Square and when I'm sad I always seem to gravitate towards comfort food and there's no other cuisine that eases my heart pains more than Filipino fare. We ordered the following:
Crispy Kangkong - this would be a 3. After trying Kanin Club's crispy kangkong all others even the ones I make at home pale in comparison. But still, Dencio's version is still good. For the price and the amount of kangkong we got, I'd say it's still a great deal.
Laing - 4, we love their Laing. I've written about this in my previous review below. It seems like since we're dining in now we've got a bigger portion than when Deckard ordered take out the last time.
Tortang Talong with Crabmeat - 4, Deckard's order. He finished everything and he wants me to copy it. I tasted some and it's yum. As usual Deckard had his torta with catsup.
Inihaw na manok - 5 winner winner chicken dinner! This was unexpectedly good. They cooked this like an Inihaw na liempo and I'd say this dish is somewhat similar to Reyes barbecue or Aristocrat.
Sisig - 3.5 this was a bit of a let down cause I wanted my sisig hot and sizzling but what we got was cold already. The taste is spot on though. Maybe it's because they had somebody do the mixing of the egg for us already? But still I didn't notice that the plate was sizzling when the server was attending to our sisig.
Overall, I'd still rate this place a 4.
I miss my grandmother so much. She was the best home cook I knew. She wasn't perfect but she's close to it. I couldn't help crying as I ate my food, all my memories of her seem to come with every morsel I chewed and tasted. I remember her selflessness, good humor and positive attitude. I love you so much Ama. I'll see you again someday and thank you for taking care of me when my parents could not. I'm letting you go now but I will never forget you.
June 9, 2018 Everyone's got the lazy bug because
of this nice rainy weekend. Nobody wanted to cook so Deckard decided to just go out and buy some food for dinner. We had the following:
Fried Tilapia - they filleted the meat off of the bones and cubed them into bite size pieces. Each morsel was then dipped in batter then deep fried. The body was also battered then fried.
Laing - oooohhhh I loooove their laing. Creamy, a bit spicy and so tasty.
And tada!
Crispy Pata! We haven't had this in such a long time and it was so satisfying to eat this at home. Hehehe mainly because we can go caveman on the Pata to get the remaining meat on the bone. You really can't do those things in public. We ate the Pata with Mang Tomas instead of the usual toyomansi vinegar dip. The skin was crackling crispy and the meat was tender. Deckard said it's a good thing he decided to go for the Barkada size, hahahaha there's only 3 of us but we finished the one that's good for 6.
As for the rice, I just cooked some long grain while Deckard was out.
We loooove Filipino food and Dencio's is one of our go to reliable affordable restos.
To those who are familiar with Dencio's may have come to known it through its deliciously crispy sizzling Sisig. It has retained its signature taste all these years even with the acquisition by the Pancake House Group. I would like to commend the excellent service rendered the Wonderful staff of the Harbour Square branch. Even at 10pm they are still all smiles and quick to serve. From service water to attending to our needs they are quick on their feet. Food was good, familiar Filipino fare - calamares, chop suey and plain white Rice. Place was clean and the band playing that night was engaging. Recommended when in the area. Perhaps after watching a play or show the CCP you can drop by Dencio's for some delicious Sisig with Egg.
Super sarap ng food lalo na yung sisig, sinigang and fried kankong (or whatever). Ang ganda pa ng ambiance at gwapo yung nag seserve. :D Medyo matagal lang sila mag serve but overall the best.
Food was great, service was great, overall experience was superb! I wasn't able to take pictures because the food was so mouth watering to see. 🤤 I personally like the fried small shrimps in flour (forgot what they were called). Must try. 👍
Nice food! We ordered Tinapa Rice, Bangus Sisig, Grilled Liempo and Buko Lychee shake. Altho I find the crispy toppings in the sisig strange, we still had a good dinner time here. Will definitely come back!
The last time I ate here was ages ago, I think I was still in college or newly employed. (Pictures taken also way way back hehe) I really like this branch because of its location and ambience. Great place for hang outs after work, lunch and dinner dates or simply enjoying the food with friends and family. I love their sisig, they serve the best! Will def dine here again.
Good food, nice staff, comfortable place. The restaurant was packed but it didn't feel hot inside. Servers were attentive and nice. Food tasted really good. We ordered the Vegetable Kare Kare, Grilled Squid, and Sisig.
Birthday treat!
After mass we went here for early lunch. As we enter, one of the staff greeted us with all smiles and offered to put our cake in their cooler, (which we bought from a diff store as a gift) w/ no corkage, yay! We ordered crunchy sisig, karekare, chop suey and skewered tokwa't...
Me and my wife ate at this branch once before watching a musical at the CCP. They served the food promptly and the service is apt. I like how they have kare-kare gulay (no meat just the , a good add on to the common pork dishes in filipino cuisine (like their popular sisig).
I also ate here another time with my photography friends. we had lunch in the middle of shooting the pasinaya festival.
an acceptable dencio's branch that could use a little bit of renovation just to freshen things up.

Great place for group meals. The food is for sharing. I find the adobo rice a bit sticky, I was hoping to have it slightly loose like fried rice. The staff are very peevish, it's like their too irritated to get the order and just wants to get it over with.
We had their Kare-kare, Krispy Sisig and Pusit Ala Pobre. Too bad they didnt have the baked tahong available at that time :( Whenever i dine out in Filipino restaurants, these are the usual food i order.
Kare-kare was yumyum! I like the consistency of the sauce. And the vegetables were still crunchy. Of course, always the best with bagoong. Their bagoong (shrimp paste) is similar to Barrio Fiesta's, salty with a bit of sweetness. Krispy Sisig was good as well. Really crispy. Feeling ko masarap pulutan but we had it as a viand lol aaaaand the Pusit Ala Pobre! I think i finished the whole thing, i love Pusit! I like how they cooked it, not too soft and not too chewy, just right. Tastes good! Since it's cooked Ala Pobre, expect lotsa garlic. Yay! Loved it!
We were there on a Sunday lunch so we kinda expected a lot of people and we were right. Mostly families who occupied long tables which means longer waiting/serving time. Nonetheless, we loved the food and will definitely come back!
Team's best bonding nice place, nice ambiance. Im referring to the branch in Roxas BLVD. I cant find it, friendly staff i want to go back to this place this brings back memories. This is a Throwback pictures this bonding is 1 year ago.
For Dencios, there is nothing else I would order but their sinugba, sisig and a whole lotta rice! This meal is my "happy" meal. The sinugba sets my palate and appetite and the sisig downright satisfies it. Their sisig is s crunchy and fresh! It is one of the best out there.
When I think about Dencio's I associate it with sizzling pork sisig, kare-kare, and grilled squid. These are the food items that are always on my list when dining at Dencio's. They used to have a food stall at Food Choices in Glorietta 4 that I frequently visit. I have dined once at this branch with my family. Service was great, food was delicious. Overall this is highly recommended.
I had dinner here with friends some three weeks ago. We ordered grilled fish and classic crispy sisig as beer match. The place gets crowded but they have enough dining space to accommodate customers. Since we were drinking at the same time, it was just a bit of a walk to get to the gentlemen's room. It was at the far end of the restaurant. Still, we enjoyed the night as we also got entertained by the band playing outside. This is a good place to hang out with friends while enjoying beer with pulutan.
Dencio's has been and always will be a part of Filipino food gathering. Whether it will be a family lunch out, friends' get together or simply talk over bottle bonding with friends all night long. Admit it, you simply cannot miss the famous Dencio's Sisig! :D
❤️ THE PLACE
Function room in their primary outlet in Harbour Square in Pasay has still the laid back and relaxing ambiance that is perfect to cater your needs. The entire place can maxed out at 300+ and the function room like the photo above can comfortably cater large group for a party, corporate events and social gatherings. I was amazed with their gigantic fridge filled with international and local beers! And oh, they also have Dart board! :P
❤️ THE SERVICE
Their service was impeccable! Hands down to their service! :)
❤️ THE FOOD and PRICE
Mango Shake (85 pesos) - Though I felt some itsy bitsy tiny ice on this drink, I really appreciate the that mangoes were super sweet! Really refreshing!
Krispy Sisig (209 regular / 319 large) - Everyone's favorite! Meaty, yummy, and really crispy! Perfect for pulutan!
Pancit Dencio's (Platter: 205 / Bilao 449 pesos) - This one took me by surprise. I honestly find it too simple when I saw this, but man! It proved me wrong when I tried this. Not the usual pancit out there. Aside that it was packed with ingredients, there's a lot of seafoods like mussels on it, that's why I enjoyed this dish a lot!
Krispy Pata (579 Regular / 689 Large ) - No you don't! NO ONE can ever resist this crispy and worth-every-calorie of Crispy Pata! The fact that the meat itself is not turning into a "bubble gum" to me, was really thumbs up! What more with the crackling pork skin? But whenever when we're at home, we used to put mayonaisse on the sauce of the crispy pata and get the floating mayo goodness! hahah! Isn't just me? HAHAH! (Try it! Put some mayonnaise on the usual soy sauce of the Crispy Pata then put some mayo. Don't stir it too much, just mix it for a couple of times. Every goodness of the soysauce with mayo is really heavenly. You'll thank me later for that!) ;)
Adobo Brown Rice (205 pesos) - The most legit adobo rice I've tried! What I usually had as adobo rice from others is a plain rice that was tossed in soy sauce. That's it. They should've called it Soy Sauce rice. haha! But here in Dencio's I really taste the full flavor of the adobo in their brown rice. Healthier alternative for the white rice! haha!
Krispy Leeg - Another stunner of the night. Wasn't really planning to order this one, but they suggested it. And it's OH-SO-WORTH-IT. The crispy on the outside, was so sinful (and delicious ofcourse) and the leeg inside was really soft and meaty on its own! Another perfect for pulutan! :D
Sari Saring Sinugba (545 pesos) - Another personal favorite. Grilled favorites in one platter. BBQ, Tuna, Liempo and Squid. Everything was great! Especially the Pork BBQ! It was really meaty, flavorful and tender! It's even better than what we had before! You may also notice that there's different pickled veggies on the side. But, the white one? That's nata de koko strands!
Krispy Isaw - Love at first sight when we first tried this. The isaw were crispier and longer. I wished they put more sauce on this! HMMMM! SARAP! :)
Turon de Sorbetes (82 pesos) - This can be improved. The banana inside was a bit hard. hehe!
❤️ THE VERDICT
- No doubt, when it comes to Filipino favorites, I won't think twice going to Dencios! :)
A very memorable place for me as we spent time here when I'm still getting to know someone way back August during the 10 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. But aside for being a place of memories, I love how Dencio's present their food and how the staff engage with their customers. I personally like crispy sisig and gising gising. Bulalo also seems legit. Ice cold beer will definitely not be missed. :)
You can’t go wrong with Dencio’s when it comes to authentic Filipino dishes and street food. Whenever we’re in Manila this is the first restaurant we would usually visit since there’s no Dencio’s in Cebu. Their Crispy Sisig is my favorite and it’s the main reason why I keep coming back to Dencio’s. Sisig is a typical “pulutan” dish for Filipinos. A perfect match with ice cold beer but as for me, I enjoyed eating it with plain steamed rice. I also love their Bulalo, Sinigang, Adobong Kangkong and Lechon Kawali.
The last time we visited Dencio’s was last week (after a grueling long flight). No jet lagged for me as long as I can satisfy my cravings for Sisig. We ordered Sisig, Molo Soup, Adobong Kangkong and Sago’t Gulaman. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked.
I like their Harbor Square branch (CCP Complex, Manila) because it’s not too crowded which is good for couples and families with little kids. Actually the customers have the option where to dine since they have indoor (non-smoking area) and outdoor space with a stunning view of the Manila Bay. Although some parts of the restaurant are currently under renovation but still the customers can dine comfortably and enjoy their delicious food.
Dencio’s is also a good spot for ‘Barkadas’ (group of friends) who seeks fun and relaxation. They have combo meals for a group of people which includes ‘pulutan’ and cold beer.
The staffs were helpful and friendly. Service was fast. The price is very reasonable and serving portions is good for sharing.
