Always loved their samosa and gulab jamun. Paratha was real nice too. Unfortunately, that was it. Lassi was grainy and wasn't able to finish it. Mixed veg pacora was dry. Chana kidal and pareer matar wasn't as impressive. Ambiance was much of a canteen. Crew was attentive but one was not as pleasant. Overall experience was okay.

If you are looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, visit this. They also have Filipino dishes or you can ask then to tone down the spice if you're not a fan of spicy food. But I lobe their chicken curry, it had the right amount of spiciness. The chicken was a little dry but the curry sauce was really good.

Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you like cheese try to order Paneer matar.. it is a bit spicy and savory. The mutton biryani didn't impress me because it was too oily.

Food hack* try to order samosa's on the ground floor (assad mini mart) than on the resto. They sell it cheaper, i dont know why. 😅

I love the Indian food, simple presentation but delicious. They offer a mix of Indian and Chinese fare, my usual go-to is the spicy squid (bestseller is the spicy chicken), my other favorites are the biryani, qourma, sunshine rice, green seafood soup and lassi.

A great variety of spices play a key role in this irresistible cuisine, with all its extraordinary ingredients, unfamiliar dishes, and tongue-tingling flavors. Every food is a must try.

Worked at the company across the street from this place so the picture below was staple food for me and my officemates. Spicy fried chicken and rice is one of their best sellers if you’re not really into Indian Food. Have the sliced green and red peppers separated if you don’t like it too spicy and don’t forget to ask for extra sauce!

A famous Indian restaurant in Midtown UN. They serve great food and offer fast service to its clients. Their soup and chicken are my top favourites combined with their veggies and meat. Food prices are definitely affordable. A must try for the Indian food lovers.

an authentic taste of Indian cuisine in the heart of metro, been a big fan of their Mutton Qourma and Chapati bread (had to order extra chapati for the sauce of mutton qourma :D) + their spicy spareribs rice and samosa @ assad mini mart.

Quality food. Having very limited options in their menu but the most popular dishes are available...price is reasonable with the quality of food they provide..anytime you need Indian food in Manila then its a good option but their service is too poor.

My officemates and I decided to have dinner somewhere else besides robinson's otis because we're umay na restaurants doon so we tried it here. Arrived past 7pm and there's a signage that says they are open until 7:30pm lang. Pero na-accomodate pa din kami☺️ I ordered the chicken curry rice indian version (because they also have the pinoy style chicken curry) 3 of my officemates ordered the spicy chicken rice and the other one, sweet & sour fish fillet rice. Totally satistied with what we've ordered. They also liked the spicy chicken, kahit literal na maanghang talaga! Will definitely try their other meals next time.

I'm more familiar with Eastern Asian food and of course American/Western food. And since we'd been colonized by Spanish during 17th - 19th century.. so we got much of ideas from their culinary same as our Surnames (most of Filipinos). Introductions of Pakistani food, it's like a big '?' For me. I don't know much about Halal (Jalal) foods actually, since i'm not muslim so i pretty much clueless about what they're eating.

Assad Cafe's is like a New World Order for my taste buds. First, i'm a little bit of hesitant cuz of the smell of Curry, well i never hate curry but the smells are really crazy strong. But knowing me? I always try everything as long as it looks goOd to my eyes and of course to learn something new..

My Colleague decided to pay visit (Assad Café) since they're blood related. We ordered Spicy Chicken which very crispy and juicy. We also tried Paneer Matar (veggie stew with curry sauce).. since it was suggested by the service crew to us, i suggest, it's good pairing it with the Chapati, although chapati is common paired with the biryani. And as I said, Biryani! we ordered beef biryani - it looks like a yangchow with less flavored taste and it was served, as normal yellow rice underneath it the chopped beef (bbq styled)..

So far, the experience was really good, the place wasn't messy or anything. So good, and i will try other offers next tym, except Biryani - Not a fan of it. ♡

Assad is Manila's best-kept secret. Now that they have upgraded their location and their ambiance, it's just the place to be.

Get the Spicy Chicken, and you'll swear that this is how chicken is supposed to be.

Mutton is so well-prepared. Beryani is 5/5. Green Spinach Soup is the best thing to sit beside your main Indian dish.

Our team came from Hospicio de San Jose and after another worthwhile event with kids, we searched for a place to eat. I was looking to have coffee and instead landed in an Indian restaurant.

Never mind they didnt have coffee besides being a cafe, their Indian flavor is as authentic as it can be and their price range is affordable. We had four dishes for Php 900.

I like their Mutton Curry with Chapati most. Besides a well textured soft meat, its sauce was tasty sweet with a mild spicy kick. Its bread could have been better warm.

Chicken Biryani is always my go to dish and their version didnt fail. The basmati rice was well cooked and it includes hefty portion of delicious breast chicken.

I'm glad Shrimp Masala was served without its shells or I wouldn't have bothered eating it. Its masala mixture had a nice balance of three c's- cumin, cinnamon and cayenne.

Vegetable Curry was a great addition not just for nutritional benefits but also for color and crunch. Its vegetables was too fresh and curry perfectly prepared.

I've been waiting for forever to have this restaurant on zomato. And now that it's finally available for review I can write about how much of a really good and authentic Indian restaurant they are, although technically, I think it's owned by a pakistani, not sure. You do not go to the cafe for the ambiance, that's the thing though, of you're really just looking for a nice looking place to eat. This is our favorite take out or order ins for meetings since my office is in Paco. They have a really good spicy chicken meal which is truly value for your money since its a quarter spring chicken with chillis on top together with rice and the sauce is the best and for only 137 php! And if you're dining in you can pair your orders with their mango lassi or mango shake which are both reasonably priced at 40 php per glass. I also love their veggie soup as well as the vegetable quesadillas. The fish masala was a little too much of a flavor bomb for me though. Other than that, if you love spicy and/or indian food this is definitely a must try. And if it's still a bit early in the day try to go to their minimart and have some samosa to go which are good, filling and perfect if you're on a budget. They only cost 20 php each!

Assad cafe, and assad minimart, has been my favorite go to place for Indian/Persian fix. It is a simple eatery that serves authentic Indian cuisine.

Indian cuisine, as we perceive it, is full of spices, curries, chilis, and those strong, pungent ingredients, but in reality, its a world of new flavors and depth that will bring you to another world. I remembered the spice trail of marco polo to bring different spices and trade it to the whole world. It is just the start of the epic journey of colors, flavors, and depth in the new world of cuisine as we now enjoy.

Vegetarian Samosas (from Assad MIni Mart) is a fried dumpling filled with potato, peas, and spices that is paired with the sweet, tangy tamarind sauce. I love the spice-y kick of the filling that is balanced by the sauce. The combination of the flaky crust, textured filling, plus the sticky sauce is just extraordinary. I have been a fan of their samosas since I was introduced to it in 2001 and was even buying it for P7/pc, presently P20. The taste of the samosas is still the same ever since.

Chana Masala is a garbanzos curry dish that you can use as their gravy for rice and bread. The starchy, nutty chickpea balances down the strong masala taste. I love to dip my samosas in this masala or even used the bread to scoop the chickpeas.

Chicken Masala is chicken braised in a spicy masala mix. Masala literally means spice. So, it varies from what meat they would use it for. The masala mix gave the chicken a depth of smokey, spiced chili complexities without the pungencies of the curry powder mix we are used to.

Beef Karahi is curried beef that is braised for long hoursand tenderized by yogurt that gave it a nice, rich, creamy beef stew. This is our favorite with the strong beefy taste that is well paired with their flat bread.

Gulab Jamun is fried bread balls that is soaked in sweet syrup. It is one of my favorite dessert. At the first bite, sweet, watery substance just explodes into your mouth with the soft bready texture. It is similar to a sponge  that is soaked in syrup for a long time.

Assad is a hidden gem in the middle of Manila. It is a common place for restaurateurs and local Indians/Persians to source their ingredients from nuts to spices. Aside from spices, Assad cafe also sells a wide variety of Indian SWEET desserts, candies, or cakes. This is the place where we could taste the dishes we see on 'Gastronomic' movies like The Hundred Foot Journey & Today's Special (2009).

Assad is our dependable "go to" restaurant when we get tired of eating those inconsistent carinderia food in the office. Most of their dishes are top notched, a little pricey for a minimum wager though. Their Sunshine Rise is on the top of my list. Their beef ampalaya, broccoli with mushroom, beef curry and shrimp fried rice is also good. I can't say anything about their interiors and ambiance since we always order only by phone and told our staff to pick it up because it's more convenient to eat at the office. So if ever you're in the vicinity and craving for good food, drop by this place. Highly recommend! 👍 👍 👍
