Their Tea time delight set is super worth it. Beef Hand Pulled Noodles is amazing. The noodles have been hand pulled thickly and it tastes like it has so much in it. Their wanton flakes are very good too. I hope they add Milk Tea in this set. Side choice of Dumplings, Siomai or Shanghai.

It was a rainy Saturday morning when Rina and I drove to Quezon City for her doctor's appointment. I don't go to QC very much anymore.. which is sad because I spent four years living in my grandfather's house before moving to our place in Antipolo. We lived near the Timog-Tomas Morato area, and even back then, it was lined with a number of restaurants, with the more popular ones being Mario's, Dulcinea, and Anabel's.
This place actually is for us one of the better if not the best place to get noodles in its area. No joke. Although most of the time we just do take out as available parking is rare.
Let me begin by saying that Kanzhu has the best milk tea EVER.
I’m giving Kanzhu Hand-Pulled 5/5 because of its overall great dining experience.
- Delicious, authentic tasting Chinese food.
- A lot of variants to choose from in their menu.
- They aren’t called “Kanzhu HAND PULLED Noodle” for no reason. Their noodles are perfectly cooked and made!
- The staff are very warm, attentive, and friendly!
- Waiting time isn’t too long.
- Doesn’t get too crowded.
- Lighting is good/bright.
SUGGESTED DISHES:
- Lamb dumplings
- Any of their noodle dishes esp the vegetable stir fried noodles huhu my fave ❤️
- Hakaw
- Yang Chow fried rice
- Siomai
- CLASSIC MILK TEA
Value for money. We love their beef brisket noodles, broccoli & fried rice. They have awesome iced tea too! Their other drinks are ok but I don't think they will ever serve them with pearls :/
Shrimp hakaw's the best in this restaurant. I love the sticky rice wrapper. I also like the broth of the beef noodles.
Price-wise, I did not feel cheated. They deliver what you paid for, both in the size of serving and taste of dishes.
I look forward to going back to this restaurant and trying out the other items on their menu.
An ideal place for hand-pulled noodle lovers! Their beef noodles is to die for! There's a variety of food to choose from. This is Chinese cuisine at its finest! 😊
If you're looking for a great place to enjoy authentic Chinese noodles, this is the place to be. Their hand pulled noodles truly set them apart in its texture and flavor. This place has been a consistently successful recommendation to my friends everywhere. We ordered the A1 Hand-Pulled Dry Beef Noodles. The wen sui and garlic toppings add a largely necessary depth to its flavor. The texture of the beef is tender and is flavorful with each bite. Eating it must start with the thorough mixing of all the elements in the dish. The noodles always satisfy my hunger. One of my favorite noodle places for sure!
Marinated jellyfish is a must try. Dumplings and milk tea were great! Will be back to try their noodles. Servers were very attentive and service was great. Price range is affordable.

Went here one rainy night when I was sick and need some good noodles as my fix. The place did not disappoint. The braised beef noodle soup was flavorful. I would have liked it with more veggies tho, and more beef than what they served! :) Not a big deal since price is relatively cheap and food is good. Dessert was chilled green tea taho (which I have forgotten to take a photo since I got too excited). It has a strong green tea flavor which complemented with the sweetness of sugar syrup. Service was fast, got our food after 5 mins from ordering.
Stumbled upon this place on the way home from the grocery and decided to let the after-school traffic pass by having a snack in this place. We often pass by this place but this is the first time that we've tried it.
I'm a big fan of hand-pulled noodles and I must say, I'm surprised that their noodles are flavorful! We got their beef tendon dry noodles (P180), chicken & ginger dumplings and black fungus & jellyfish (P80). I most especially liked their black fungus & jellyfish appetizer, retty good! :) I notice that they seem to like to use raw garlic. The only thing I didn't like so much was the dumpling. I don't think they steamed it well.
Interiors are ok and service is also ok (got to be, we're the only customers!).
Quality food and large serving size. Loved their noodles and dumplings which were just perfect for this rainy weather. They also deliver too!
We ordered their beef tendon and veggie dumplings.
Good quality food, albeit not the standard Chinese food found in most Chinese restaurants in the Philippines, pretty good stuff all in all. I just wish they would expand their menu a little more, but I certainly can't complain about the quality of the food.
Nice ambiance and sumptuous food. We'll definitely be recommending to some friends who would want to have hand-pulled noodles. And yes their staff are kind and attentive. 👍
Another visit to Little Baguio- this time to try out this renowned hand pulled noodle resto.
We came out extremely satisfied with our meal.
Started off with a very milky Classic Milk Tea and a refreshing Peach Fruit Tea. Then the complimentary soup. Followed this up with yummy Beef Curry Dumplings and excellent Chicken Feet.
Then the mains -Yuxian Eggplant and Minced Pork Dry Noodles and Beef Fried Noodles. Both dishes were quite large, very tasty at the start and rather satiating as we were half way thru. Chewy noodles which fills you up quickly. Very tasty eggplant and minced pork. Good amount of tasty veggies in the beef dish.
Chewy noodles, but I find it a bit expensive. If you're craving for some handpulled noodles in the city, this will suffice. But I had better ones from Binondo though.
Yesterday I was craving some noodles... Heard about this hand pulled place so we decided to go... The parking was ok... But we did go when the place was empty... Here was a lot of staff but I guess some were just getting in... Not really sure what to order as long as it was noodles we went with...
great affordable place to eat. I loved their lamb dumpling dry noodles. too bad they removed that from the menu. I have eaten here often and even wayback when it was called gansu (or ganzhu?).
Edit 11/27/15: stopped by for some quick dinner. ordered non-noodle dishes this time! Not bad. And quite affordable compared to others in the area.
The flavors of their food are pretty much upfront and bold. We tried the chicken dumpling noodle and the scallion oil noodle as well as the french beans with pork and i enjoyed them, i guess because the noodles are chewy. I liked the jellyfish with mushroom appetizer too. Their food is pretty interesting.
What i like about Kanzhu noodles is that they are freshly made by hand. Noodles simply does not taste right unless it's fresh. My favorite here is the beef brisket and tendon dry noodles. Most of the food here is a bit spicy and is perfect for cold dry weather. Their appetizers are also of good quality. The place is a bit small, more for individual dining or couple dining.
Very good noodles and fast service. A must place to try if you have not. I enjoyed their dumplings also but my fav is the spicy eggplant noodles
In San Juan, you need to be a fairly decent Chinese restaurant in order to survive. Kanzhū is pretty much that: fairly decent. The hand-pulled noodles are just alright, but I'm not big on noodles in general so that probably factors into my judgment. My kids love watching the noodles being made, so that makes for an interesting dining experience. never mind that they've seen it many times, it's still always fun to watch it being made.
My favorite dish here is the Ma La Niu Rou, which is extremely flavorful although it could use a lot more meat. They also recently added the option to use the hand-pulled noodles rather than the regular vermicelli it comes with. Their egg and tomato dish is one of our favorites, as well as the braised beef, which you can order either with the noodles or as a side with some chopped fresh garlic.
They also have crispy fish skin and sugared peanuts with sesame seeds which are great for snacking and are sold in plastic take out containers.

My mom, usually comments about the restaurants after eating. She's like, "di masarap, labnaw ng sabaw, anu ba yan sayang pera". But today, we went to Ayala Terraces in Fairview, she directly talked to the manager and said, "Wala ako masabi, ang sarap ng food. The servings, SULIT! I am Happy!"
As for me, we order all the house best seller. And I was like, "Ang liit sa picture, then you served us a big and and damn to good food!" Then the noodles, they are making it from dough to noodles in front of you' face! :D hahahaha
BOOM PANES! hahahaha.
I have been hearing a lot of good things about Kanzhu from different friends and so have decided to give it a try last weekend. The store only had a seating capacity of 40 seats and when we got there the place was full. Since it is a noodle restaurant, the turn over was actually fast and in less than 5 minutes my husband and I were already seated.
For appetizers, we ordered the Black Fungus Jellyfish as it was recommended by their waiter when I asked for something light and healthy. Despite its strange name, I found the dish to be quite appealing. The dish was dressed with a black vinegar sauce that gave it a sour and somewhat sweet flavor, while the raw garlic toppings gave it a sharp bite.
To accompany the Jellyfish appetizer we also ordered Shrimp Hakaw and Asado Siopao as my friends have recommended. I can say that they have the BEST HAKAW IN TOWN! Unlike other establishments, Kanzhu serves hakaw with fresh and whole shrimps! The filling in their Asado Siopao is quite good and flavourful.
For our main order, we each got our own noodle dish but to be honest ordering just one to share would have been enough. Their servings are very generous that you could actually split one for two people. Not that were complaining since we have managed to finish our orders anyways! My husband got their bestseller, the A1! Dry Noodles, while I ordered the X.O. Mixed Seafood Dry Noodles. I will definitely come back for more of Kanzhu as you truly get your moneys worth with the quality that their food gives.
It's been almost 6 months since I've been back from China, and though i sometimes feel like 2 years of eating the same kind of food is more than enough to not want to eat it again, that's really not the case with me and Chinese food.
I ordered the Tomato and Egg dish, one of my favorite dishes. This is still as good a I remember it. I also ordered the pork and chive dumplings, much more expensive than what I remember it. Last time I remember having these, it was something like 15pcs at a little below Php100 and now it's 7pcs for Php100+. They also offer my favorite Radish Cake, without shrimp (I'm allergic), which I like bec all neighboring restaurants have shrimp or prawns inside their radish cake.
They no longer offer their bottomless iced tea though, which was a bit of a downer. :(
Service is still okay, but there were no other customers for the first 30mins I was there. Price-wise, more expensive than I remember it. Taste, not bad. Their menu has more variety than its last menu, but it's made me feel like it's trying to compete with the other Chinese restaurants in the area...especially since this restaurant's name focuses more on Northern Chinese food than the Southern Chinese of the other restaurants.
Still coming back though. Radish cake and tomato and egg!!! :) Grabe ang takaw ko~ haha.
My husband and I got invited to a very interesting dinner last night with a very unique bunch of people. We were in the midst of a famed food blogger, his wife, two restaurant owners, a former Nobu chef, a Photographer and Videographer. It was a get together to celebrate the blogger's birthday and he wanted to eat at Kanzhu. Being from San Juan, this resto was familiar to me and I have eaten here in the past so I didn't think much of it at first. But taking a look at their expanded menu, my preconceived notions of the place suddenly dissipated. I was well aware of their excellent, authentic noodle dishes that are made fresh per order, which is made evident when you see their in-house chefs hand-pulling and cooking the noodles right then and there. The noodles come out perfect, springy with the right bite and very tasty even on its own. We were also delighted by their new dishes like the Delicious Chicken with Pepper Gravy (a house special), Black Fungus with Jellyfish (refreshing and herby), Chinese Olive Fried Rice, Spicy Szechuan Beef and Cumin Lamb. Great grub for excellent value. The meal was a revelation to me, and I'm definitely coming back to try more of their new menu items.

Kanzhu occupies the previous space of Beijing hand pulled noodles, which was the first meeting place of The Foodie Club. We received an invitation to try out their food but this was not the first time Irene and I have been to Kanzhu, but both times we had noodles.
We arrived and get seated next to the open kitchen
As we got settled in the dishes came out one by one starting with the appetizers. Black Fungus with Jelly Fish was the first one. Its a cold and crunchy appetizer that stimulates the taste buds. Wansuy (cilatro) leaves are mixed generously in the appetizer giving it a nice fragrance.
Century Egg - Sliced century eggs in a mix of vinegar and soy sauce. I love century eggs especially in my congee so I know these were good ones
The other appetizers served were Fuzhu, Seasoned Carrots, and Shredded Potato Salad. These three were all spicy so I happily stayed away.
Next came the dumplings, steamed and fried.Steamed Pork & Chive Dumplings and Fried Lamb Dumplings. I love the fried lamb dumplings that I've ordered it again on a subsequent visit. Its a little oily, but just grab a tissue and seep the oil away. I much prefer the slightly crispy then chewy texture of the fried dumpling. Both dumpling variation can be served either fried or steamed, your choice.
A pair of quite oily fried rice came next, Chinese Olive Fired Rice and Chinese Sausage Fried Rice. I try to avoid fried rice after I found out the amount of oil they use to cook it, the result of which makes the rices shiny. They were both good but the olive fried rice presented a unique taste that made the sausage fried rice pale in comparison.
Kanzhu Braised Beef. Tender pieces of meat with very flavorful sauce. I've had this with noodles and ala carte like this one above. One of the better braised beefs I've had.
Little did I know that the next dish, unassumingly called Tomato Egg would be my favorite. This dish is so simple yet complex, beaten eggs cooked with sliced tomatoes give it a nice color. The taste is a little on the sweet, a big plus for me, I'm guessing they've added some sugar during cooking in addition to the sweetness from the tomatoes. This is perfect with a cup of hot plain rice.
Ziran Yang Rou or Cumin Lamb is another dish I liked. Crunchy sliced celery wok fried with lamb meat. The dish is fragrant and flavorful with the celery imparting a earthy taste
Ironically for a noodle place, we were only serve one kind, the Kanzhu Plain Dry Noodle. Kanzhu hand pulled noodles with braised beef sauce poured on top. This is one big plate of noodles and for only P85 is quite a steal, order this and I guarantee you'll be full already. The noodles are chewy and substantial.
Some of the noodles we've had on previous visits to Kanzhu. Braised Chicken Noodle Soup and Braised Beef Noodle Soup.
Kanzhu is more than just noodles,it has a lot to offer from cold appetizers to dumplings and even a simple dish like tomato egg. There would definitely be something that makes you come back for more. I know I have and will now its going to be harder to choose what to eat
